09-17-22 | Purdue v. Syracuse -1 | 29-32 | Win | 100 | 67 h 24 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #114 Syracuse Orange over Purdue Boilermakers (12p.m., Saturday, September 17 ESPN2) Just do not trust Purdue to win games like this on a consistent basis. Syracuse has had a revival through two games this season with a coach that came in on the hot seat to open 2022. The Orange have blown out two opponents to go 2-0 this season including a win over Louisville as an underdog. Garrett Shrader is a top 5 quarterback in passing this young season and he works nicely with RB Sean Tucker to give them a 1-2 punch. Syracuse is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games.
09-16-22 | Rangers v. Rays -1.5 | 4-3 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 24 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #920 TAMPA BAY RAYS -1.5 RL, OVER TEXAS RANGERS (7:10pm E, Friday, September 16) The Rays are getting hot at the right time. After an 11-0 win over Toronto, in Toronto, they're clicking on all cylinders. Today Corey Kluber and his 4.37 ERA (he's better than that) goes against Martin Perez and his 2.77 ERA (Tampa will score more than 3 runs, tonight, with their hot bats). Take Tampa to win easily.
09-15-22 | Rays v. Blue Jays -125 | 11-0 | Loss | -125 | 3 h 10 m | Show
6 Unit Play. Take #960 Toronto -130 over Tampa Bay (3:07p.m., Thursday, September 15 MLB.tv) We will continue to ride the Blue Jays in this final game of this 5 game series. This is another matchup of strong pitchers but the difference continues to be the strength of the Blue Jays offense. Kevin Gausman has not been as dominating as last year with San Francisco, but he has been getting run support and is 12-9 with a 3.31 E.R.A. If he pitchers to those numbers on Thursday that should be good enough for the victory. Tampa Bay is 1-5 in their last 6 games. Toronto is 13-3 in their last 16 divisional games.
09-15-22 | White Sox v. Guardians OVER 7.5 | 8-2 | Win | 100 | 1 h 12 m | Show
3 Unit Play. Take #965 Over 7.5 in Chicago @ Cleveland (1:10p.m., Thursday, September 15 MLB.tv) Both the White Sox and the Guardians have good bats and, early in the season, we'd probably take this game to go Under, but Lance Lynn is no spring chicken and gives up hits and runs, late in the season, that he wouldn't have early. Lynn comes in with a 4.08 ERA against Hunter Gaddis and his (though he's way better than this) 23.23 ERA. This should have no problem going over.
09-14-22 | Yankees -123 v. Red Sox | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 8 h 14 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #919 New York over Boston (7:10p.m., Wednesday, September 14 MLB.tv) The Aaron Judge home run watch continues Wednesday as he looks to break the all-time Yankee home run record. Nestor Cortes has not been the same pitcher of late, but it is mainly due to lack of run support. The Red Sox have been terrible in-division going 17-37 in their last 54 AL East games.
09-14-22 | Rays v. Blue Jays -105 | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 12 m | Show
3 Unit Play. Take #918 Toronto over Tampa Bay (7:07p.m., Wednesday, September 14 MLB.tv) We got burned yesterday with the late pitching change but the starters are set for tonight and we will side with the red hot Blue Jays. Tampa Bay is 1-4 in their last 5 games. Toronto is 12-3 in their last 15 divisional games. This is a strong pitching matchup from both sides, but the strength of the Blue Jays offense will be the difference on Wednesday.
09-13-22 | Rays v. Blue Jays -150 | 4-2 | Loss | -150 | 3 h 25 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #966 Toronto over Tampa Bay (1:07p.m., Tuesday, September 13 MLB.tv) THIS IS GAME 1 OF A DOUBLE HEADER We can just play the Blue Jays blind the way the are going now. They had no business winning last night but came through late and look for that to carryover into this game. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
09-13-22 | Pirates v. Reds OVER 9 | 6-1 | Loss | -125 | 3 h 54 m | Show
3 Unit Play. Take #951 Over 9 in Pittsburgh @ Cincinnati (12:35p.m., Tuesday, September 13 MLB.tv) This is game one of a double header. We're coming right back with another over in Cincinnati. Both of these offenses seem to click in day games and, with the wind blowing straight out in this little ballpark and the combined ERAs at 9, we like our chances.
09-12-22 | Broncos v. Seahawks +6.5 | Top | 16-17 | Win | 100 | 121 h 52 m | Show |
10 Unit Play. Take #482 Seattle Seahawks over Denver Broncos (8:15p.m., Monday, September 12 ESPN) The Hawks are not expected to contend this season as they traded away their quarterback to Denver. But the fan base will be excited for this game, and it is one of the toughest tickets in town. Look for Seattle to rise to the occasion and take this game down to the wire. Denver gave up a ton of capital to get Russell Wilson and they were not a very good team last year. Seattle is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games against AFC teams. The Hawks are also 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games when they are an underdog. Seattle has won 9 of their last 10 home games. Too much emotion for Russell Wilson to blow out Seattle and expect this game to go down to the wire and we will come out on top either way.
09-12-22 | Rays v. Blue Jays -145 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 8 h 46 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take Toronto over Tampa Bay (7:07p.m E, Monday, September 12) This is a battle for second place in the American League East. Toronto has been playing outstanding baseball of late winning 8 of their last 10 games. They also have the edge in starting pitching tonight with Jose Berrios on the mound. Toronto is 16-5 in their last 21 games against right-handed pitching. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
09-12-22 | Pirates v. Reds -1.5 | 6-3 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 21 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take 902 Cincinnati -1.5 RL over Pittsburgh (6:40pm E, Monday, September 12) The Reds didn't come close to the year they expected, but they still have a quality ballclub which has shown up much of the 2nd half of the season. When their bats light up, their offense is as good as anyone’s, and these are the kinds of games where it happens. Tonight, Mike Minor and his 5.7 ERA will defend the homefield against Bryce Wilson and his whopping 6.7 ERA. Look for the Reds to score early and often.
09-12-22 | Pirates v. Reds OVER 9 | 6-3 | Push | 0 | 7 h 20 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take 901 Over in Pittsburgh @ Cincinnati (6:40pm E, Monday, September 12) For the reasons mentioned above, this game should have no problem going over the number. Just the ERAs alone are over 12 runs. Don't be surprised if this game, in that little ballpark, goes over by the 5th inning.
09-11-22 | Steelers +7 v. Bengals | 23-20 | Win | 100 | 90 h 36 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #461 Pittsburgh Steelers over Cincinnati Bengals (1p.m., Sunday, September 11 CBS) We will grab the points in this divisional rivalry. People are starting to bury the Steelers, but one must remember that Mike Tomlin has never had a losing record in his coaching career. Pittsburgh has the better defense in this game and that should allow them to keep this game as a one score game. The Steelers lost both games to the Bengals last year but have owned this series in the last two decades. Pittsburgh is 21-10 ATS in the last 32 meetings (1 push) and 16-5 ATS in the last 23 games played in Cincinnati (2 pushes).
09-10-22 | Braves -117 v. Mariners | 1-3 | Loss | -117 | 11 h 37 m | Show
8 Unit Play. Take #929 Atlanta Braves over Seattle Mariners (9:10p.m., Saturday, September 10 MLB.tv) The Braves are starting to resemble their 1990s teams winning at an extraordinary clip since the second half of last season. They have won 8 straight games and have Max Fried on the hill tonight in Seattle. He is 12-5 on the season with a 2.48 E.R.A. He is top 12 in Win/Loss, E.R.A. and WHIP this season. His opponent is George Kirby and he has not gone very deep into games of late pitching over 6 innings just one time since early July. He has dominated bad/light hitting teams of late, but Atlanta certainly does not fall into that category. Atlanta is 12-2 in their last 14 interleague games. They are also 13-3 in their last 16 road games. Seattle is 3-7 in their last 10 home games against a left handed starter. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
09-10-22 | Kent State v. Oklahoma -33 | 3-33 | Loss | -110 | 72 h 35 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #382 Oklahoma Sooners over Kent State Golden Flashes (7p.m., Saturday, September 10 ESPN+) Not sure who thought it would be a good idea for Kent State to play three buy games in one season. But that is what has occurred in 2022 with road games against Washington, Oklahoma and Georgia. The Golden Flashes lost by 25 points last week to Washington and the score in that game could have been much worse. Kent State pulled most of their starters in the second half to protect them for the MAC Conference games and they will do the same thing in this one as well. Oklahoma wants to show they are still one of the top teams in the Big 12 and they pounded UTEP in their opening game. This will be another victory likely by 40+ points. The Golden Flashes are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 road games. The Sooners have covered the spread in 5 straight home games.
09-10-22 | Washington State v. Wisconsin -17 | 17-14 | Loss | -110 | 68 h 4 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #356 Wisconsin Badgers over Washington State Cougars (3:30p.m., Saturday, September 10 FOX) Wisconsin has the best defense in the Big 10 and I just believe Wazzou will struggle to move the football and score points in this game. It may not be a dominating performance but the cumulative effect on a strong running game and a defense that can rush the passer will allow Wisconsin to win by 20+ points. The Badgers were able to hold some things back last week playing an FCS school. Wazzou played an FCS school as well and they were in a dog fight for 60 minutes and trailed 10-0 in that game.
09-09-22 | Blue Jays -151 v. Rangers | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 19 h 25 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #769 Toronto over Texas (8:05p.m., Friday, September 8 MLB.tv) Toronto has been playing outstanding baseball of late and beating the bad teams. Texas qualifies as a bad team having lost 10 of their last 11 games. Toronto is 11-1 in their last 12 games following an off day. Texas is 16-42 in their last 58 games following an off day. Toronto is better on both sides of the field tonight and will win this game going away.
09-08-22 | Giants v. Brewers OVER 7.5 | 1-2 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 1 m | Show
2 Unit Play. Take #905 Over 7 in San Francisco @ Milwaukee (4:10p.m., Thursday, September 8 MLB Network) This is game one of a double header taking place at American Family Field in Milwaukee, WI. Corbin Burns has not been as dominating as he was last year and this is a low number considering this is a hitter’s ballpark. Look for both teams to score some runs and this game to reach double-digits in total runs scored. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
09-07-22 | Blue Jays -132 v. Orioles | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 44 m | Show
5 Unit Play. Take #973 Toronto over Baltimore (7:05p.m., Wednesday, September 7 MLB.tv) The Blue Jays have won 2 of the 3 games thus far in this 4-game set in 3 days. Look for them to win the finale with Alek Manoah on the mound. He has allowed just two earned runs in his last three starts pitching over 20 innings. The Blue Jays have been playing outstanding of late and look for that to continue Wednesday. Toronto is 8-1 in their last 9 road games. The Blue Jays have beaten the Orioles 35 of the last 52 games. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
09-06-22 | Sky v. Sun | 80-104 | Win | 100 | 10 h 49 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #642 Connecticut over Chicago (8p.m., Tuesday, September 6 ESPN2) The Sun forgot how to score points in the fourth quarter on Sunday and that costs us a big play winner. Look for them to bounce back in a must win game at home. Chicago just wanted to get a split in Connecticut and they have already accomplished that. The Sky are an older team and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games when playing on one day’s rest.
09-06-22 | Blue Jays v. Orioles -105 | 6-9 | Win | 100 | 9 h 8 m | Show
3 Unit Play: Take 918 BALTIMORE ORIOLES -105 OVER BLUE JAYS (7:05pm E, Tuesday, September 6) There was a time, even earlier this season, where this would seem a terrible play, but the Orioles are 71-64 and digging a Wild Card spot. Kyle Bradish brings his 5.17 ERA (he's better than that in big games) against Mitchell White and his 4.67 ERA.
09-05-22 | Red Sox v. Rays OVER 7.5 | 3-4 | Loss | -105 | 2 h 7 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take 967 Over 7.5 in Boston @ Tampa Bay (4:10pm E, Monday, September 5) Both teams are eyeing the playoffs, but Boston needs to really turn it on to get there. Both teams have been hot lately, though, with records of 7-3 in their last 10 games. Today Patino and his 4.09 ERA goes for the Rays, against Wacha's 2.56 ERA. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports
09-04-22 | Sky v. Sun | Top | 76-72 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 44 m | Show |
10 Unit Play. Take #636 Connecticut Sun over Chicago Sky (1p.m., Sunday, September 4 ESPN2) Chicago is the defending champions of the WNBA but I just do not like the way they are playing during the second half of the season. They lost the No. 1 see to Las Vegas and have already lost two home games during the playoffs. Connecticut got the split in Chicago to take away home court advantage and Game 3 is usually when the home team plays their best game of the series. The Sky are just 1-5 in their last 6 games following an ATS win in their previous game. The Sun have been playing exceptional down the stretch going 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games. The includes 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games.
09-03-22 | Brewers v. Diamondbacks +171 | 8-6 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 44 m | Show
5 Unit Play. Take #962 Arizona over Milwaukee (8:10p.m., Saturday, September 3 MLB.tv) We have used the Snakes in the first two games against the Brewers and will look to make it three in a row on Saturday night. Milwaukee has scored 2 runs in the first two games of this series and does not have an extra base hit. With Yelich likely out again on Saturday expect Arizona to capitalize. Milwaukee has the pitching edge but I just believe Arizona will find a win to way yet again. The Brewers are 1-8 in their last 9 road games against teams with a losing record. The Diamondbacks are 7-1 in their last 8 games.
09-03-22 | Louisville -4 v. Syracuse | Top | 7-31 | Loss | -110 | 100 h 45 m | Show |
10 Unit Play. Take #169 Louisville Cardinals over Syracuse Orange (8p.m., Saturday, September 3 ACCN) Just do not see much hope for Syracuse and Dino Babers turning things around. He is 3-15 in the ACC the last 2 years and is facing a team that has had his number of late. Louisville has covered the spread against Syracuse in 7 of the last 8 meetings. That included winning 41-3 last year and their margin of victory in the last 8 games is 31 points. Louisville picked up some key transfers this season and Syracuse has a new offensive coordinator that might not fit their skill players system. The favorite has covered the spread in this game 8 straight meetings.
09-03-22 | Texas State v. Nevada | 14-38 | Win | 100 | 54 h 8 m | Show
2 Unit Play. Take #208 Nevada Wolf Pack over Texas State Bobcats (5:30p.m., Saturday, September 3 local) This line has moved too far the other way and now the value lies with Nevada. The Wolf Pack did not look good on offense last Saturday but having a game under their belt will help them in this one. This is the home opener with a popular coach and expect Nevada to win this game. Texas State has never made a bowl game since becoming eligible. The Wolf Pack are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games.
09-02-22 | Brewers v. Diamondbacks +100 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 51 m | Show
7 Unit Play. Take #910 Arizona over Milwaukee (9:40p.m., Friday, September 2 MLB.tv) We will fade the Brewers for a second straight night after a nice underdog winner on Thursday. This team just do not hit the ball well and struggles to score runs. Both of tonight’s starting pitchers have shown signs of dominance at certain points this season but the hot bats of Arizona will be the difference. Milwaukee is 3-11 in their last 14 road games. They are 1-7 in their last 8 road games against teams with a losing record. Arizona is 6-1 in their last 7 games.
09-01-22 | Brewers v. Diamondbacks +123 | 0-5 | Win | 123 | 10 h 20 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #956 Arizona over Milwaukee (9:40p.m., Thursday, September 1 MLB.tv) Arizona got blown out yesterday but had been playing well prior to that pounding. Milwaukee just has not been the same team since the trade deadline and their offense is still one of the weakest in the league. Milwaukee is 3-10 in their last 13 road games. Arizona is 10-4 in their last 14 games played on Thursday. Look for a low scoring games that the Snakes pull out at a fair underdog price. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
09-01-22 | West Virginia v. Pittsburgh -7.5 | 31-38 | Loss | -105 | 51 h 46 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #144 Pittsburgh Panthers over West Virginia Mountaineers (7p.m., Thursday, September 1 ESPN) The Backyard Brawl is back for the first time in over a decade. West Virginia has taken a step back and look for Pittsburgh to have another successful season in the ACC. Pittsburgh brings back a lot of talent and Coach Narduzzi will not take this game lightly. West Virginia has become forgotten once they left the Big East and has not been very strong in Big 12 play the last couple of seasons. West Virginia is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games against ACC teams. Pittsburgh is 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games. Look for the Panthers to come out strong and win this game by double digits.
08-31-22 | Phillies -130 v. Diamondbacks | 18-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 10 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #911 Philadelphia -135 over Arizona (9:40p.m., Wednesday, August 31 MLB.tv) The Phillies do not want to get sweep by the Diamondbacks since they are in the race for a wild card berth. Philadelphia has given up 25 runs in the first two games of this series, but Bailey Falter should be able to stabilize the game on Wednesday. He has allowed just 6 total runs over his last 3 starts of 18 innings. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-30-22 | Mariners v. Tigers +160 | 9-3 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 45 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take 966 DETROIT TIGERS OVER SEATTLE MARINERS (7:10pm E, Tuesday, August 30) Detroit loves to play the spoiler in these situations and they have the bats, at home, that can do it. They're starting Matt Manning and his tidy 2.37 ERA and Seattle will counter with George Kirby and his 3.33 ERA. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-30-22 | Orioles +135 v. Guardians | 1-5 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 46 m | Show
4-Unit Play: Take 963 BALTIMORE ORIOLES OVER CLEVELAND GUARDIANS (6:10pm E, Tuesday, August 30) Baltimore is playing good baseball and these are the kinds of games they need to win, if they're going to slip in the backdoor to the playoffs. Who would have believed that they'd be only two games behind the Blue Jays at the end of August. Today, they send Spencer Watkins and his 3.96 to the hill against Cal Quantrill and his 3.59 ERA.
08-29-22 | Cubs v. Blue Jays -1.5 | 4-5 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 43 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #916 Toronto (-1.5 RL) over Chicago (7:07p.m., Monday, August 29 MLB.tv) The Blue Jays laid an egg against Los Angeles this week but now get to host another bad team in Chicago. The Cubs gave up 16 runs in their last two games against Milwaukee and expect them to give up a bunch of runs tonight as well. The Jays are 5-2 in their last 7 home games against Chicago. The Cubs are 8-22 in their last 30 interleague games. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-28-22 | Angels v. Blue Jays -1.5 | 8-3 | Loss | -115 | 2 h 12 m | Show
6 Unit Play. Take #966 Toronto Blue Jays (-1.5 RL) over Los Angeles Angels (1:37p.m., Sunday, August 28 MLB.tv) The Blue Jays do not want to get swept by one of the worst teams in the league, especially at home. Look for them to salvage this final game of this series via a blowout. Ross Stripling has been outstanding of late and has not allowed more than two earned runs in any start since July 3rd. The Halos are 27-56 in their last 83 games. Toronto is 6-2 in their last 8 series during game 3. Toronto bats come alive and score some runs on Sunday.
08-27-22 | Vanderbilt -7.5 v. Hawaii | Top | 63-10 | Win | 100 | 80 h 56 m | Show |
10 Unit Play. Take #311 Vanderbilt Commodores over Hawaii Warriors (10:30p.m., Saturday, August 27 CBSSN) This is more a play against Hawaii instead of liking the worst team in the SEC. The Warriors are in a major rebuild having lost their coach due to off the field issues. Now former quarterback Timmy Chang is the head coach, and he will struggle to keep this team competitive in 2022. Hawaii returned just 6 starters and only 2 of them are on defense. Vanderbilt has the better defense and running game and that should be good enough to win this game by double digits. They lost to an FCS team in their opening game last year and need to avoid a similar fate to open the season this year. Vanderbilt is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games. Hawaii is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 nonconference games.
08-27-22 | Diamondbacks v. White Sox +102 | 10-5 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 4 m | Show
4-Unit Play: Take 928 CHICAGO WHITE SOX -105 OVER ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS (7:10pm E, Saturday, August 27) It's hard to believe that the White Sox aren't favored in this one, at home. They are the better team, with much better bats. Davis Martin brings his 4.25 ERA to the mound against Merrill Kelly and his 2.88 ERA. Again, however, we expect the White Sox bats to take over this one. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-26-22 | Orioles +175 v. Astros | 2-0 | Win | 175 | 9 h 48 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take 969 BALTIMORE ORIOLES OVER HOUSTON ASTROS (8:10pm E, Friday, August 26) The Orioles, as we've said before, are for real and, although the Houston Astros are a very good team, they shouldn't be giving the Orioles these kinds of numbers. We'll take the value with Baltimore, as they send Bradish and his 6.25 ERA (he's better than that), against McCullers and his 2.45 ERA. On paper the play doesn't look great, but if Baltimore bats get going like they have lately, this will be a good game and we'll take our chances. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-26-22 | Reds v. Nationals -1.5 | 7-3 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 44 m | Show
4-Unit Play: Take 954 WASHINGTON NATIONALS -1.5 RL, OVER CINCINNATI REDS (7:05pm E, Friday, August 26) The Nationals have had an awful year, but they love to prey on teams like the Cincinnati Reds, when they come to town. The Nats will win this going away with Cade Cavalli making his MLB debut. If you haven't heard of Cavalli, he had a 1.40 ERA in the Minors and can't wait to prove himself in the bigs.
08-25-22 | Cardinals v. Cubs OVER 9.5 | 8-3 | Win | 100 | 3 h 43 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take Over in St Louis @ Chicago (2:20pm E, Thursday, August 25) This is a cover play, just in case the Cardinals have one of their big offensive days, but we expect to win them both as the wind will be blowing out at over 10mph.
08-25-22 | Cardinals v. Cubs -102 | 8-3 | Loss | -102 | 3 h 42 m | Show
7-Unit Play: Take #902 Chicago over St Louis (2:20pm E, Thursday, August 25) As we've said before, when these two teams play, you can throw records out the window. Every game between these two is like a playoff game. The Cubs play well at home in afternoon games, and we expect, especially after their hot bats last night for this to be a high scoring game and the Cubs to score often. Hudson is on the hill for the Cards, with his 4.34 ERA and he's facing a pitcher who knows how to pitch in Wrigley: Marcus Stroman and his 3.85 ERA. Look for the Cubs to walk with this one.
08-25-22 | Angels v. Rays -1.5 | 3-8 | Win | 125 | 2 h 33 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take 908 Take Tampa Bay (-1.5 RL) over Los Angeles (1:10pm E, Thursday August 25) The Rays are hard to beat at home and we don't think the Angels have power to do it, especially as it's getting later in the season. Sandoval will go for the Angels, with his 3.14 ERA against Rasmussen and his fine 2.83 ERA. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-24-22 | Diamondbacks v. Royals +112 | 3-5 | Win | 112 | 9 h 16 m | Show
6 Unit Play: Take #977 Arizona over Kansas City (8:10p.m. E, Wednesday, August 24 MLB.tv) Zac Gallen has been one of the lone bright spots for Arizona this season. He has not allowed a run in his last 3 starts and has a great strikeout to walk ratio. The Royals lost to Arizona last night and they are 2-8 in their last 10 interleague home games.
08-24-22 | White Sox v. Orioles +108 | 5-3 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 12 m | Show
4 Unit Play: Take #960 Baltimore over Chicago (7:05pm E, Wednesday, August 24) The Baltimore Orioles are for real, and they need to win games like this if they're going to make the playoffs - something you'd have never guessed early in the year. The Orioles bring Spencer Watkins and his 4.04 ERA to the hill against Lucas Giolito and his 5.35 ERA. Look for the Orioles to score early and often.
08-24-22 | Rangers v. Rockies +120 | 16-4 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 18 m | Show
4 Unit Play: Take #970 Colorado over Texas (3:10pm E, Wednesday, August 24) The Rockies have had a poor year, but they still have an excellent offense and a team like the Texas Rangers have no business being a favorite in this game. Colorado brings his 4.79 ERA against Marcus Perez and his 2.8 ERA, but we feel the Rockies' bats will make the difference today.
08-23-22 | Marlins -133 v. A's | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 12 h 56 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #929 Miami over Oakland (9:40p.m., Tuesday, August 23 MLB.tv) The Marlins have the edge in starting pitching tonight and look for two wins in a row against the Athletics. Zach Logue has been pounded of late giving up 13 combines earned runs in his last two starts. Miami has won 4 of their last 5 games in Oakland. The Athletics are 5-23 in their last 28 games against teams with a losing record. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sport
08-22-22 | White Sox -145 v. Royals | 4-6 | Loss | -145 | 3 h 8 m | Show
3 Unit Play. Take #959 Chicago White Sox over Kansas City Royals (2:10p.m., Monday, August 22 MLB.tv) The White Sox got rained out yesterday and now get to throw Michael Kepech against the worst team in the AL Central. He has been a tough luck loser this season with a 4-9 record but a 3.64 E.R.A. If he pitchers to that E.R.A. today, he should earn the victory. Chicago beats the bad teams this season going 40-13 in their last 53 games against teams with a winning percentage below .400. Kansas City is 1-6 in their last 7 games. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-21-22 | Red Sox -106 v. Orioles | 3-5 | Loss | -106 | 8 h 36 m | Show
6 Unit Play. Take #927 Boston -110 over Baltimore (7:10p.m., Sunday, August 21 ESPN) When you look at the lineup for each team, it is hard not to like Boston better. The Red Sox did not trade away their offensive players like Baltimore did and I just do not believe the Orioles will be able to stay in contention for a wild card berth. Both pitchers have shown flashes of success this season and Nick Pivetta has better stuff than his numbers would indicate. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-20-22 | White Sox v. Guardians OVER 7.5 | 2-0 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 44 m | Show
5 Unit Play. Take #975 Over 7.5 in Chicago @ Cleveland (6:10p.m., Saturday, August 20 MLB.tv) Not sold on Johnny Cueto and I do not see him being able to dominate this Cleveland line-up that does not strike out much. Shane Bieber has been better of late but two out of his last 3 starts of gone over tonight’s posted number. Chicago has gone over the posted total in 4 of their last 5 games against right handed starters. Cleveland has gone over the posted total in 7 of their last 9 games in game two of their last 9 series. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-20-22 | Steelers +3.5 v. Jaguars | Top | 16-15 | Win | 100 | 75 h 51 m | Show |
10 Unit Play. Take #417 Pittsburgh Steelers over Jacksonville Jaguars (7p.m., Saturday, August 20 local) Just not sure why Jacksonville is favored by this many points. Mike Tomlin has a solid NFL Preseason record of 35-24 and most of that has come in the last 5 years there were preseason games (13-3). Jacksonville is 0-2 and the oddsmakers must expect them to come out blazing in this game to rile up the fanbase. I don’t see that happening, as this is the third game of the preseason, and they have a veteran head coach and is not all that worried about winning these games. Pittsburgh has three solid quarterbacks for this game and the quarterback job is wide open. All will want to play well in this game to make the case that they should be the starter. Throw in a solid core of young wide receivers and I feel Pittsburgh will win this game straight-up. This matchup during the regular season has been dominated by the road team and the underdog and look for that to hold true in the preseason as well.
08-19-22 | White Sox v. Guardians -125 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 7 h 60 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #924 Cleveland -130 over Chicago (7:10p.m., Friday, August 19 MLB.tv) The White Sox continue to be the most disappointing team in the American League. They are coming off an embarrassing loss last time out and now must face Triston McKenzie on Friday. He has pitched better than his record would indicate with a 3.14 E.R.A. The Guardians have beaten the White Sox 5 of the last 7 games in Cleveland. The Guardians are 7-2 in their last 9 games following an off day. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports
08-19-22 | Edmonton Elks v. Ottawa -4.5 | 30-12 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 50 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #692 Ottawa -5 over Edmonton (7p.m., Friday, August 19 ESPN+) Ottawa is coming off a bye and expect them to bounce back in a big way on Friday night. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-18-22 | Red Sox v. Pirates +142 | 2-8 | Win | 142 | 7 h 14 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #972 Pittsburgh +140 over Boston (7:05pm E, Thursday, August 18) We don't know what's happened to the Red Sox this year, but they're just not good. Pittsburgh, at home, with Brubaker on the hill and his 4.46 ERA will be going against Winckowski and his 4.73 ERA. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports
08-18-22 | Cubs v. Orioles -150 | 3-2 | Loss | -150 | 3 h 16 m | Show
8 Unit Play. Take #970 Baltimore -155 over Chicago (3:05pm E, Thursday, August 18) The Cubs are a piecemeal team, and the Baltimore Orioles are for real and eying the playoffs for the first time, in some time. The Cubs are in the middle of their division with a record of 49-67, while the Orioles are above 500, looking for a wild card spot, with a record of 61-56. They know they have to win these games and they should be able to take care of business behind Spenser Watkins. He has not been as sharp of late but playing the Cubs in this one-off game should allow him to get back on track. Chicago is 7-22 in their last 29 interleague games. That includes going 2-9 in their last 11 games against AL East teams. Baltimore is 20-7 in their last 27 games against teams with a losing record. Hard to see the motivation for Chicago having to fly to Baltimore for this one game makeup before returning home to Chicago.
08-18-22 | Cubs v. Orioles OVER 8.5 | 3-2 | Loss | -120 | 3 h 15 m | Show
2 Unit Play. Take #969 Over 8.5 in Chicago @ Baltimore (3:05pm E, Thursday, August 18) Expect some runs this game to go along with an easy Baltimore victory. The Birds have gone over the posted total in 3 of their last 4 home games (1 push).
08-17-22 | Dodgers v. Brewers +165 | 2-1 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 23 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take 912 MILWAUKEE BREWERS +150 OVER LOS ANGELES DODGERS (8:10pm E, Wednesday, August 17) Same as above, if Milwaukee is going to make a run, they have to beat teams like the Dodgers at home. Lauer is on the hill for the Brewers with his 3.65 ERA against Gonsolin and his 2.25 E.R.A. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports
08-17-22 | Rays +128 v. Yankees | 7-8 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 20 m | Show
4-Unit Play: Take 921 TAMPA BAY RAYS +120 OVER NEW YORK YANKEES (7:05pm E, Wednesday, August 17) If the Rays are going to make a run at the title this year, they're going to have to win games like this. They have the talent, they just have to show it away home, Kluber, wth his 4.41 ERA is going against German and his 4.27 ERA
08-16-22 | Phillies v. Reds +172 | 11-4 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 17 m | Show
6-Unit Play: Take 954 CINCINNATI REDS OVER PHILLIES (6:40pm E, Tuesday, August 16) The Reds had a terrible start to the season but have come back in the 2nd Half. We'll take value like this at home. With Zeuch on the hill with his 13.5 ERA watch a big change now that he's with the Reds. He's opposite Gibson with a 4.35 ERA. This is one of those times that we don't care about ERAs. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-15-22 | Cubs -128 v. Nationals | 4-5 | Loss | -128 | 8 h 2 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #905 Chicago -135 over Washington (7:05p.m., Monday, August 15 MLB.tv) No bet against the Nationals is a bad bet. They are 18-42 at home and the Cubs actually have a winning record on the road. Marcus Stroman did not pitch well last time out against the Nationals but should bounce back nicely on Monday. The Cubs are 4-1 in their last 5 games. The Nationals are 16-38 in their last 54 games during game 1 of a series.
08-14-22 | Yankees v. Red Sox OVER 9 | 0-3 | Loss | -120 | 7 h 24 m | Show
3 Unit Play. Take #977 Over 9 in New York @ Boston (7:08p.m., Sunday, August 14 ESPN) The Over has hit 7 of the last 9 games. The Over has hit 5 of the last 7 games in Boston. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-14-22 | Yankees -130 v. Red Sox | 0-3 | Loss | -130 | 7 h 24 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #977 Take New York -130 over Boston (7:08p.m., Sunday, August 14 ESPN) This is the rubber game in what has been a low scoring series thus far. Michael Wacha is back pitching for Boston and this will be a tough task for him going against the Yankees. Jameson Taillon has been solid all season long but has a 3.95 E.R.A. despite an 11-2 record. That means he gets a lot of run support and expect that to occur today as well as the Yankees winning this game.
08-14-22 | Fever +11 v. Mystics | 83-95 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 15 m | Show
5 Unit Play. Take #645 Indiana +11 over Washington (3p.m., Sunday, August 14 ESPN3) Just do not see the motivation for the Mystics in this game. They are playing a terrible team that they just beat by 12 points and are locked into the No. 5 seed regardless of the outcome of this or any other game on Sunday. Indiana is terrible but this is their last game of the season and expect them to put forth a good effort in this game. Washington is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-13-22 | Padres v. Nationals +270 | 3-4 | Win | 270 | 7 h 29 m | Show
3-Unit Play; Take 906 WASHINGTON NATIONALS +255 OVER PADRES (7:05pm E, Saturday, August 13) The Padres are probably the most improved team in the league, right now, but they can be beaten and shouldn't be giving these kinds of numbers on the road. Sanchez and his high 7.73 (though he's better than that) is up against Darvish and his 3.29 ERA. We'll take our chances with this value. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-13-22 | Seahawks v. Steelers OVER 35.5 | 25-32 | Win | 100 | 52 h 25 m | Show
2 Unit Play. Take #125 Over in Seattle Seahawks @ Pittsburgh Steelers (7p.m., Saturday, August 13 NFL Network) This is a game that features two teams with major questions at the quarterback position. This total has jumped a couple of points and I think that sets up a strong play for the over. Both teams need to build confidence on offense and thus expect them to showcase their quarterbacks and allow them to move the football through the air.
08-13-22 | Cubs v. Reds +1.5 | 7-2 | Loss | -190 | 7 h 4 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take 904 CINCINNATI REDS -1.5, +165 OVER CUBS (6:40pm E, Saturday, August 13) The Reds are a good team and they're playing like it now. They will show everything they have against the Cubs today. Ashcraft and his 3.94 ERA has been a pleasant surprise and he'll face Sampson and his 3.85 ERA. The Reds will run away with this one.
08-13-22 | Braves v. Marlins +118 | 5-2 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 33 m | Show
7-Unit Play: Take 902 MIAMI MARLINS +115 OVER BRAVES (1:10pm E, Saturday, August 13) This is game one of a double header. The Braves snuck by us yesterday, but the Marlins will make up for it today. They're bats are good and we see them walking with this game. Luzardo has a respectable ERA of 3.29 and he'll face Muller and his relatively high 5.52 ERA.
08-12-22 | Toronto -1.5 v. Hamilton | Top | 27-34 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 48 m | Show |
10 Unit Play. Take #683 Toronto over Hamilton (7:30p.m., Friday, August 12 ESPN+) This line continues to move toward the Argonauts, as they are now close to a field goal favorite. It is because of the injury situation with Hamilton, as QB Dane Evans is doubtful for this game. The Tigers-Cats also have a bunch of wide receivers out for this game and that will allow the Argonauts to beat them for a second straight week. Toronto is not the most reliable team, but they have been playing better of late, winning 3 of their last 4 games. That included a home and home consecutive week sweep of Saskatchewan (similar setup to this game). Toronto is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Argonauts are 3-1 ATS (1 push) in their last 5 games against the Tiger-Cats. Hamilton is 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games overall. This line has moved close to 5 points and we agree that the quarterback loss will be too much for Hamilton to overcome.
08-12-22 | Padres -1.5 v. Nationals | 10-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 22 m | Show
6-Unit Play: Take 953 San Diego Padres -1.5, -150 OVER WASHINGTON NATIONALS (7:05pm E, Friday August 12) After the blockbuster trade, the Padres have one of the best teams in the Majors. They can compete with anyone and with Clevinger on the mound with his low 3.6 ERA, against Abott and his 5.9 ERA, we like this game going away.
08-11-22 | Montreal +9.5 v. Winnipeg | 20-17 | Win | 100 | 10 h 39 m | Show
2 Unit Play. Take #681 Montreal over Winnipeg (8:30p.m., Thursday, August 11 ESPN+) Sooner or later Winnipeg will lose a game and not cover That day will be tonight, as these two teams played last week, and the final score was not as indicative of how close the game was. Montreal had a quarterback injury in the second half last week but should be at full strength for this game. Montreal is 21-9 ATS in their last 30 road games.
08-11-22 | Cubs v. Reds OVER 9 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 28 m | Show |
10 Unit Play. Take #907 Over in Chicago vs Cincinnati (7:15p.m., Thursday, August 11 FOX) FIELD OF DREAMS GAME. 17 runs were scored in this game last year and expect another high scoring game tonight. The park dimensions are favorable to the hitter and neither one of tonight’s starting pitchers is very good. 4 of the last 5 starts by Nick Lodolo have gone way over the posted total of tonight’s game. Drew Smyly was hit hard two starts ago and I just do not see much shutdown stuff from him. The over has hit in 5 of the last 7 games between these two teams.
08-11-22 | Giants -2.5 v. Patriots | 23-21 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 25 m | Show
1 Unit Play. Take #105 New York Giants over New England Patriots (7p.m., Thursday, August 11 NFL Network) The Patriots are resting a bunch of their starters and the Giants seem to indicate they will play a lot of their roster. Also throw in the fact that New York has a first year head coach with a lot of uncertainty at numerous positions. The line has swing way in the direction of the Giants and we will follow suit.
08-10-22 | Marlins +112 v. Phillies | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 55 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take 957 MIAMI MARLINS OVER PHILLIES (7:05pm E, Wednesday, August 10) Alcantara, for the Marlins, is one of the elite pitchers in the league. Philadelphia has no business being favorites in this one. We're taking the Marlins to score and Alcantara with his low 1.88 to outpitch Syndergaard and his 4.02 ERA. The Marlins take this one. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-10-22 | Giants v. Padres -1.5 | 7-13 | Win | 125 | 5 h 1 m | Show
3-Units: Take 956 SAN DIEGO PADRES -1.5 RL, OVER GIANTS (4:10pm E, Wednesday, August 10) After the blockbuster trade which made the Padres one of the best teams in baseball, including adding Juan Soto (one of the best offensive players) and Josh Bell (not far behind), they are a force to be reckoned with. We would, now, put them up against anyone. Wish Manaea on the hill for San Diego with his 4.74 ERA against Junis and his 3.05 ERA (that will increase today), we like the Padres to walk away with this one.
08-10-22 | Reds +280 v. Mets | 2-10 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 1 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take 951 CINCINNATI REDS OVER METS (1:10pm E, Wednesday, August 10) The Mets are definitely improved this year, but they shouldn't be giving these kinds of odds to team that's been playing as well as the Reds. We'll take the value here and look for Zeuch and his 4.59 ERA to stand up against Walker and his 3.46 ERA. This value is just too high to pass up.
08-09-22 | Yankees -125 v. Mariners | 0-1 | Loss | -125 | 12 h 43 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #925 New York over Seattle (10:10p.m., Tuesday, August 9 MLB.tv) The Yankees got back on track last night and look for them to win the first two games of this series behind their ace on Tuesday. The Yankees are 36-15 in their last 51 games against the Mariners. Seattle is just 3 games over .500 at home and look for Cole to make a statement tonight after getting pounded by Seattle last time out.
08-08-22 | Yankees v. Mariners -102 | 9-4 | Loss | -102 | 11 h 7 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take 964 SEATTLE MARINERS OVER YANKEES (10:10pm E, Monday, August 8) The Mariners made a statement in New York, against the Yankees, recently and they're going to love having them at home. Gilbert is on the hill with his 3.09 ERA and he'll be opposite Taillon and his 3.98 ERA.
08-08-22 | Blue Jays v. Orioles +125 | 4-7 | Win | 125 | 8 h 0 m | Show
2-Unit Play: Take 960 BALTIMORE ORIOLES OVER BLUE JAYS (7:05pm E, Monday, August 8) Baltimore is a different team this 2nd half of the season and the Blue Jays might take them lightly - at least that's our guess. Kikuchi had a rough start his last time out and Orioles bats are not going to get him well. Take the Orioles today with Lyles and his 4.42 ERA on the mound against Kikuchi and his E.R.A. of 4.86
08-07-22 | Braves v. Mets -132 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 5 h 30 m | Show
5 Unit Play. Take #912 New York -140 over Atlanta (4:10p.m., Sunday, August 7 ESPN+) The Mets have asserted themselves as the best team in the NL East this series and look for them to finish it off on a high note. Jacob DeGrom is making his second start this season after pitching well in his first start with 6 strikeouts in just 5 innings of work. New York has beaten the Braves in 4 of the last 5 games. The Mets are 11-2 in their last 13 games. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-07-22 | Aces +2.5 v. Storm | 89-81 | Win | 100 | 3 h 59 m | Show
8 Unit Play. Take #607 Las Vegas +2.5 over Seattle (3p.m., Sunday, August 7 ABC) I still believe Las Vegas is the most talented team in the league and they are determined to go the whole regular season without losing 3 straight games. This is Sue Bird’s final home game in the regular season and that will put a lot of pressure on the Storm to perform well. This will be too much for them to handle and look for the Aces to come out strong. Las Vegas is the healthiest team in the league and they have a terrible taste in their mouth losing last time out on a blown layup late in the fourth quarter. Seattle is just 6-20 ATS in their last 26 games against teams from the Western Conference. Las Vegas is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 2 days rest. This are the dog days of August in the WNBA, but Las Vegas wants the No. 2 seed, and they will take a big step to getting that with a victory today in Seattle. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-06-22 | Yankees v. Cardinals -106 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 35 m | Show
4-Unit Play: Take 984 ST LOUIS CARDINALS OVER YANKEES (7:15pm E, Saturday, August 6) At first glance, this would look like a Yankee play, but the Cardinals have been playing 2nd fiddle to New York, for some time. They are number two behind the Yankees in World Championships with 11, but they are way behind the Yankees' 27 World Titles. They still get up, big time, when the Yankees come to town and with Jordan Montgomery and his 3.7, ERA playing against his old team, facing Domingo German and his 6.64 ERA, we like the Cardinals chances again tonight.
08-06-22 | White Sox v. Rangers +111 | 0-8 | Win | 111 | 8 h 24 m | Show
4-Unit Play: Take 972 TEXAS RANGERS OVER WHITE SOX (7:05pm E, Saturday, August 6) Texas has one of the best teams they've had in awhile, but they've still been hit or miss. That would also define the White Sox's season. The Sox beat them yesterday 2-1, but we see a different outcome today, with Dunning and his 4.32 ERA (he's pitching much better than that, now) against Kopech and his 3.12 ERA, who seems to never get much run support.
08-06-22 | Astros v. Guardians +145 | 1-4 | Win | 145 | 7 h 28 m | Show
4-Unit Play: Take 968 CLEVELAND GUARDIANS OVER ASTROS (6:10pm E, Saturday, August 6) The Astros had a big day yesterday, taking down the Guardians 9-3. Cleveland, however, has been playing much better than that and we like them to bounce back against Houston today. They'll have Quantrill on the mound, with his 4.08 ERA against Luis Garcia and his 3.82 ERA. Look for Cleveland to get aggressive on the bases today.
08-05-22 | Red Sox v. Royals +101 | 7-4 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 43 m | Show
6-Unit Play: Take 920 KANSAS CITY ROYALS OVER RED SOX (8:10pm E, Friday, August 5) We're not sure what's happened to Boston this year, but we don't mind getting on the bandwagon, when they play the Royals. We've overstated this, but Greinke loves pitching against big teams and, even with the Red Sox falling apart this year, they're still one of his targets. Greinke takes the hill with a 4.44 ERA (he's better than that) and he'll be opposite Josh Winckowski and his 5.0 ERA. Greinke should establish at least the first 6 innings for KC - if the bullpen does its part, we should have another victory.
08-05-22 | Pirates +140 v. Orioles | 0-1 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 37 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take 925 PITTSBURGH PIRATES OVER ORIOLES (7:O5pm E, Friday, August 5) In most cases, we love the Orioles at home in a spot like this, as they've put up some good numbers this year and, for the first time in some time, have aspirations for the playoffs. But the Pirates have put up some good numbers of their own and have beaten some surprising teams this year. They'll send Keller to the mound with his 4.37 ERA against Kremer and his 3.87 ERA Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
08-05-22 | Nationals +180 v. Phillies | 2-7 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 39 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take 903 WASHINGTON NATIONALS OVER PHILLIES (7:O5pm E, Friday, August 5) The Nationals haven't done much of anything this year, but one thing they have done is win games it looks like they're not supposed to win. It's just like them to go into Philadelphia and steal one and that's what we think will happen today. Jon Gray and his 3.84 ERA is on the mound for the Nationals against Kyle Gibson and his 4.62 ERA.
08-05-22 | Marlins v. Cubs -1.5 | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 55 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take 902 CHICAGO CUBS -1.5 RL, OVER MARLINS (2:20pm E, Friday, August 5) The Cubs, after wrapping up a series with their bitter rivals, St Louis, come back to the friendly confines of Wrigley to take on the Marlins. The Marlins are the better team, but the Cubs seem to shine on these Friday afternoon home games. The wind is blowing in from right field, so it most likely won't be a game full of home runs, but the Cubs have been playing good small ball lately and with Steele on the mound with his 3.86 ERA against a player to be determined, for the Marlins, look for Chicago to win this one for their fans.
08-04-22 | Blue Jays -120 v. Twins | 9-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 39 m | Show
7 Unit Play. Take #969 Toronto over Minnesota (7:40p.m., Thursday, August 4 MLB.tv) The Blue Jays have been playing outstanding baseball of late and look for them to get back to their winning ways on Thursday. Alek Manoah struggled his last time out but before that start he had been rock solid with 4 straight quality starts. His opponent is Sonny Gray, and he has had a good season, but I do not trust him against the better teams in the league. Toronto is 10-2 in their last 12 games against right-handed starting pitchers. The Blue Jays are 31-15 in their last 46 games in the Twin Cities.
08-04-22 | A's +103 v. Angels | 8-7 | Win | 103 | 5 h 6 m | Show
3 Unit Play. Take #963 Oakland over Los Angeles (4:07pm, Thursday, August 4 MLB.tv) The Athletics weren't expected to do a lot this year, but they've done even less than that, with a record of 40-66. But, with Blackburn and his 4.16 ERA on the hill (he's better than that and with a lot of experience, especially compared to Junk) and Jansen Junk on the mound for the A's with his only start being a good one: 6 innings pitched and 0 earned runs. We expect a different outcome with this outing of Junk and look for the A's to tee off on him.
08-03-22 | Tigers +195 v. Twins | 1-4 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 15 m | Show
3-Unit Play: Take 919 DETROIT TIGERS OVER TWINS (1:10pm E, Wednesday, August 3) The Twins have a very good ballclub, but their numbers, as a favorite, are getting up there a little too high. The Tigers still have good bats and with Alexander on the mound, with his 4.12 ERA, against Ryan and his 3.8 ERA, we like Detroit to steal one from the Twins today. At least it's worth this kind of value to take the underdog.
08-03-22 | Mariners +155 v. Yankees | 7-3 | Win | 155 | 2 h 11 m | Show
4-Unit Play: Take 918 SEATTLE MARINERS OVER YANKEES (1:05pm E, Wednesday, August 3) The Mariners took down the Yankees at home yesterday, 8-6, and typically we'd be behind a bounceback by the Pinstripes, especially with Garret Cole and his 3.31 ERA on the mound, but not so fast. With Stanton out (he may be back this week, but last word is, he won't be in today's lineup), and ZacK Britton recovering from Tommy John Surgery, and Luis Castillo and his 2.81 ERA on the mound, we like the Mariners to win back-to-back games in New York and we'll take the good value, to boot.
08-03-22 | Blue Jays v. Rays +110 | 2-3 | Win | 110 | 1 h 17 m | Show
4-Unit Play: Take 916 TAMPA BAY RAYS OVER BLUE JAYS (12:10pm E, Wednesday, August 3) Well, Tampa Bay let us down yesterday, but we definitely see a different outcome today. If the Rays are going to make a serious charge, it's important they win games like this. They have Beeks on the hill, with his low 2.36 ERA, against Kikuchi and his 4.89. Look for them to take down Toronto today.
08-02-22 | Wings v. Sky OVER 167 | Top | 84-78 | Loss | -110 | 21 h 46 m | Show |
7 Unit Play. Take #647 Over in Dallas @ Chicago (9p.m., Tuesday, August 2 CBSSN) All of the trends for both teams point toward a high scoring game. Dallas is fighting for the WNBA playoff life and needs a strong finish to the season. Chicago is always playing for the No. 1 overall seed and usually wins game with their offense. Chicago has gone over the posted total in 8 of their last 10 home games. They have also gone over the posted total in 11 of their last 14 games against teams with a losing record. The Wings have gone over the posted total in 5 of their last 6 games. The over has hit 16 of the last 22 games between Dallas and Chicago.
08-01-22 | Royals +148 v. White Sox | 2-1 | Win | 148 | 9 h 55 m | Show
5 Unit Play. Take #917 KANSAS CITY ROYALS OVER CHICAGO WHITE SOX (8:10pm E, Monday, August 1) After spending the last few days in New York, against the Yankees, it should feel comforting to the Royals to be playing the White Sox and getting a good underdog number to boot. Keller will be on the hill for KC, with his 4.2 ERA against Kopech and his 3.17 ERA. The Royals are 4-1 in their last 5 divisional games. They have also beaten the White Sox 4 of their last 5 games in Chicago. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
07-31-22 | Lynx v. Sparks OVER 166.5 | 84-77 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 10 m | Show
3 Unit Play. Take #635 Over 166.5 in Minnesota @ Los Angeles (7p.m., Sunday, July 31 NBA.tv) Expect some points in this game. Minnesota has gone over the posted total in 5 of their last 7 games. Los Angeles has gone over the posted total in 7 of their last 8 games following a loss in their previous game. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
07-31-22 | Storm v. Mystics UNDER 156 | 75-78 | Win | 100 | 2 h 10 m | Show
2 Unit Play. Take #634 Under 155.5 in Seattle @ Washington (3 p.m., Sunday, July 31 Amazon Prime Video) Washington has gone under the posted total in 9 of their last 11 games played on Sunday. The Mystics have also gone under the posted total in 15 of their last 21 home games.
07-30-22 | Winnipeg v. Calgary -2 | Top | 35-28 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 21 m | Show |
10 Unit Play. Take #686 Calgary Stampeders -2over Winnipeg Blue Bombers (7p.m., Saturday, July 30 ESPN2) The Blue Bombers are not going undefeated this year and this is one of the games they will lose. Calgary did not play that well in the first meeting against Winnipeg but still had a chance late in the game to send it to overtime. QB Collaros is coming off his worst game of the season last time out and look for that to carryover into this game against a much better team. He played well against Calgary this season, but adjustments will be made. With Greg Ellingson questionable for this game expect the home team to come out on top. When good team play, I always like to side with the team that needs it more. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
07-30-22 | Royals v. Yankees -1.5 | 2-8 | Win | 100 | 2 h 29 m | Show
5-Unit Play: Take #914 NEW YORK YANKEES -1.5 RL RL, OVER KANSAS CITY ROYALS (1:10pm E, Saturday, July 30) Originally, the Royals were starting Greinke in this game and that probably would have kept us off the play, but with Heasley and his 5.53 ERA against Cortes and his 2.49 ERA, we couldn't pass this one up. The Yankees have been taking nothing for granted at home and with the wind blowing out to right field at 10.5mph, look for the Yankees to take advantage of that short porch.
07-30-22 | Royals v. Yankees OVER 8.5 | 2-8 | Win | 100 | 2 h 26 m | Show
4-Unit Play: Take #914 YANKEES/ROYALS OVER 9 RUNS (1:10pm E, Saturday, July 30) As we said above, the wind is blowing straight at the porch in right and we know the Yankees will score their share. If KC can score just a few, we shouldn't have a problem getting over 8.5 runs in a hurry. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
07-29-22 | Mets v. Marlins +110 | 6-4 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 48 m | Show
4-Unit Play: Take #952 Miami over New York (6:40pm E, Friday, July 29) The Mets, coming off a sweep of the NY Yankees, now go to Miami to face one of the best pitchers in baseball, Sandy Alcantara. We think the series in New York took a lot out of them and we look for a letdown, tonight, against Miami. Alcantara comes in with a 1.81 ERA and opposite him is Chris Bassit with a 3.72 ERA. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
07-28-22 | Cubs v. Giants -133 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 13 h 18 m | Show
4 Unit Play. Take #908 San Francisco over Chicago (9:45p.m., Thursday, July 28 MLB.tv) The Giants continue to be disappointing of late, but they are still a better team than the Cubs. Chicago is 8-21 in their last 29 road games against left handed starters.
07-28-22 | Guardians -113 v. Red Sox | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -113 | 11 h 42 m | Show |
7 Unit Play. Take #915 Cleveland over Boston (7:10p.m., Thursday, July 28 MLB.tv) Boston is just not a good team at the moment. They are missing two key players from their everyday lineup and their pitching staff is just not very good. They are coming off a bad loss last night and expect another loss tonight against a team that just does not strike out much. Cleveland has the edge in pitching tonight and look for them to win 3 of 4 in this series. Cleveland has won 7 of their last 10 games. Boston is 1-5 in their last 6 home games. |
