08-26-23 | Bills v. Bears UNDER 37.5 | 24-21 | Loss | -107 | 12 h 36 m | Show
Mike's Bills/Bears NFLX Total The Bills are 1-1 in preseason play following a 27-15 loss to the Steelers in Week 2. The Bears are also 1-1 following a 24-17 loss to the Colts last weekend. Buffalo HC Sean McDermott has a 13-7 preseason record in his career while Bears HC Matt Eberflus has a 4-1 record. Buffalo has more talent and depth, but McDermott knows where his team is at while Eberflus is still trying to establish a winning culture in Chicago. I think the Bears want this more. I also like the under as I think Chicago will win with its defense. Bet on the UNDER with 3% of your bankroll.
08-26-23 | Bills v. Bears +3 | Top | 24-21 | Push | 0 | 12 h 37 m | Show |
4* NFLX Game of the Week - Mike's Bills/Bears TOP PLAY The Bills are 1-1 in preseason play following a 27-15 loss to the Steelers in Week 2. Bet this TOP PLAY on the Bears +3 with 4% of your bankroll.
08-25-23 | Patriots v. Titans +2.5 | 7-23 | Win | 100 | 17 h 17 m | Show
Mike's Patriots/Titans NFLX BOOKIE BREAKER The Patriots are coming off a 21-17 victory over the Green Bay Packers, but they were outgained 340-245 and here they'll face a Titans team with two motivated QBs battling for the backup quarterback position. We might also see Ryan Tannehill for a series or two. Titans HC Mike Vrabel has a winning record two preseasons in a row, and he has a chance of recording a third straight winning preseason coming into this game 1-1. Bet on the Titans with 3% of your bankroll.
08-24-23 | Steelers -4.5 v. Falcons | Top | 24-0 | Win | 100 | 15 h 56 m | Show |
5* NFLX Game of the Year - Mike's Steelers/Falcons MAX BET The Steelers are coming off a 27-15 home win against the Bills. The Falcons are coming off a 13-13 draw against the Bengals. Pittsburgh HC Mike Tomlin has an impressive 17-4 preseason record over the last five seasons while Atlanta HC Arthur Smith is 3-4 lifetime. Pittsburgh has great depth on QB with Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph, and I expect them to control this game from start to finish. Bet this MAX BET on the Steelers with 5% of your bankroll.
08-19-23 | Bucs v. Jets -160 | 13-6 | Loss | -160 | 18 h 33 m | Show
Mike's Saturday NFLX BOOKIE BREAKER The Jets showed their depth on both sides of the ball in last week's 27-0 win over Carolina. Backup QB Zach Wilson was 14-of-20 passing for 123 yards and Tim Boyle went 9-for-10 for 84 yards. The Bucs opened the preseason with a 27-17 home loss to the Steelers and they don't even have a decent starting QB this year. Jets HC Robert Saleh has a 6-1 preseason record while Tampa Bay HC Todd Bowles has a 7-13 preseason record. Bet on the Jets with 3% of your bankroll.
08-18-23 | Panthers v. Giants OVER 38.5 | 19-21 | Win | 100 | 13 h 34 m | Show
Mike's Panthers/Giants NFLX Total BOOKIE BU$TER The Panthers opened their preseason by getting shut out in a 27-0 loss to the Jets while the Giants took a 21-16 loss at Detroit in their preseason premiere. I expect Panthers' rookie QB Bryce Young to have a much better game here, and while the Giants are not expected to give QB Daniel Jones nor RB Saquon Barkley only a few reps, backup QB Tyrod Taylor should get a decent amount of time on the field. I expect to see points for both teams. Bet on the OVER with 3% of your bankroll.
08-12-23 | Jaguars -3.5 v. Cowboys | 28-23 | Win | 100 | 11 h 42 m | Show
Mike's Jaguars/Cowboys NFLX BOOKIE BREAKER Jacksonville head coach Doug Pederson will be looking for a strong preseason outing after going 0-4 last season. Pederson announced earlier this week that his starters will play a series or two, including QB Trevor Lawrence. Dallas has a talented offense, but we're unlikely to see their starters much and they have a new offensive coordinator. Bet on the Jaguars with 3% of your bankroll.
08-11-23 | Falcons v. Dolphins OVER 36 | 19-3 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 25 m | Show
Mike's Falcons/Dolphins NFLX BOOKIE BOMBER I expect to see a fair amount of scoring here as both teas have decent depth at the skill positions and the Dolphins have somewhat experienced backup QBs in Mike White and Skylar Thompson. Atlanta also has a decent QB lineup with Taylor Heinicke backing up Desmond Ridder. Bet on the OVER with 3% of your bankroll.
08-10-23 | Vikings v. Seahawks -4.5 | 13-24 | Win | 100 | 34 h 7 m | Show
Mike's Vikes/Seahawks T.N.F. NFLX BOOKIE BU$TER Can you really lay this kind of number in the preseason and feel good about it? I think so. Seattle veteran head coach Pete Carroll typically coaches to win even in exhibition games while Kevin O'Connell went 0-3 with the Vikes in his rookie season as HC. While we won't see many starters, keep an eye on Seattle backup QB Drew Locke who is a lot better backup than the Vikes Nick Mullens. All-in-all, I think Seattle has better depth, which of course is pretty much all that matters in the preseason. Bet on the Seahawks with 3% of your bankroll.
08-03-23 | Jets -125 v. Browns | 16-21 | Loss | -125 | 16 h 30 m | Show
Mike's Jets/Browns NFL Hall of Fame Game BOOKIE BLA$TER Neither Jets' Aaron Rodgers nor Browns' Deshaun Watson will take the field and we'll see mostly backups looking to prove themselves. Jets backup QB Zack Wilson was the starter last year and I think they have the better depth all around. The Jets went 3-0 last year in the preseason and head coach Robert Saleh has a 5-0 preseason record in his career. Bet on the Jets with 3% of your bankroll.
08-28-22 | Lions v. Steelers -5.5 | Top | 9-19 | Win | 100 | 10 h 48 m | Show |
MIKE'S LIONS/STEELERS NFLX TOP PLAY OF THE DAY The Steelers are 2-0 in the preseason and I think they'll close it out with yet another win on Sunday. The Lions are expected to play their starters for at least one half, but starting QB Jared Goff will not take the field, and there is a big drop-off behind him. The Steelers are expected to play their starters as well, including quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, and they also have Mason Rudolph and Kenny Pickett. While the result doesn't matter, everyone will be looking to impress the coaching staff and Steelers' depth should get them the W. 10* PLAY ON PITTSBURGH STEELERS.
08-27-22 | Bears v. Browns OVER 40 | Top | 21-20 | Win | 100 | 87 h 11 m | Show |
NFLX TOTAL GAME OF THE YEAR - 10* BIG BET ALERT Both teams are expected to give their starters a good amount of reps which should lead to plenty of points on the board. Cleveland needs to give Jacoby Brissett a chance to familiarize himself with the offense as he'll be the starting QB for the first 11 games while Deshaun Watson is suspended. Brissett did not play last week, so it makes sense that he'll get a good run here. The Bears have indicated that they'll play their starters for the full first half. 10* PLAY ON OVER.
08-20-22 | 49ers v. Vikings OVER 39 | 17-7 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 10 m | Show
NINERS/VIKES TOTAL The Niners opened their preseason with a 28-21 win over the Packers while Minnesota lost its preseason opener 26-20 to the Las Vegas Raiders last Sunday. Kirk Cousin was sidelined after testing positive for COVID-19, but the Vikes starting QB and other starters should get more reps today, especially in front of the home fans. The Niners have a strong starting defense, but they lack depth and I can see the Vikings pile up the points here. The Vikes are 6-2 to the over in their last eight preseason games. 8* PLAY ON OVER.
08-20-22 | 49ers v. Vikings -4 | Top | 17-7 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 55 m | Show |
NFLX GAME OF THE WEEK - MIKE'S 10* NINERS/VIKES MAJOR WAGER The Niners opened their preseason with a 28-21 win over the Packers while Minnesota lost its preseason opener 26-20 to the Las Vegas Raiders last Sunday. Kirk Cousin was sidelined after testing positive for COVID-19, but the Vikes starting QB and other starters should get more reps today, especially in front of the home fans. The Niners have a strong starting defense, but they lack depth and I can see the Vikings pile up the points here. 10* PLAY ON MINNESOTA VIKINGS.
08-18-22 | Bears v. Seahawks -3.5 | 27-11 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 37 m | Show
MIKE'S TNF BEARS/SEAHAWKS NFLX BOOKIE BU$TER The Seahawks have announced that Geno Smith will get the start under center against the Bears. He'll be keen to impress and take the starting QB job from Drew Lock who will miss the game after testing positive for Covid-19. Seattle HC Pete Carroll always coaches to win and has a 36-21 record against the spread in the preseason, a top-five record among NFL coaches. I'll think he'll go for it here after losing their preseason opener at Pittsburgh 32-25. Bears' offensive starters will play just 6-10 snaps according to Chicago HC Matt Eberflus. 8* PLAY ON SEATTLE SEAHAWKS.
08-13-22 | Panthers +3 v. Washington Commanders | 23-21 | Win | 100 | 12 h 45 m | Show
MIKE'S PANTHERS/COMMANDERS NFLX BOOKIE BU$TER The Panthers should have a strong preseason with veteran quarterbacks Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold both getting a lot of reps to determine who should be the starter for the season-opener. Last season, Washington was great at stopping the run but they struggled against the pass. I like the Panthers to come out roaring in this one. 8* PLAY ON CAROLINA PANTHERS.
08-28-21 | Ravens -3.5 v. Washington Football Team | 37-3 | Win | 100 | 15 h 2 m | Show
NFL PRESEASON BOOKIE BU$TER The Baltimore Ravens are going for their 20th consecutive preseason victory. It would seem that coach John Harbaugh simply coaches to win no matter the setting and he knows how to get his players fired up for these types of games. Washington coach Ron Rivera has said he doesn't see any value in preseason wins and losses, as it's "all about how they play." 8* play on Baltimore Ravens.
08-14-21 | Saints v. Ravens -2 | 14-17 | Win | 100 | 33 h 56 m | Show
NFL PRESEASON BOOKIE BU$TER Ravens' head coach John Harbaugh cares about preseason results. A lot. Harbaugh is 37-12 lifetime in preseason games, and he is an undefeated 17-0 dating back to the start of the 2016 season. Saints' head coach Sean Payton is 28-30 lifetime in preseason games. Harbaugh clearly tries more than other coaches in the preseason, and I expect the Ravens' winning streak to continue. That being said, I would never advise betting big on any NFL preseason game. 5* play on Baltimore Ravens.
08-23-19 | Browns -3 v. Bucs | 12-13 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 27 m | Show
FRIDAY NIGHT NFLX NO BRAINER The Cleveland Browns look like a solid road favorite over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Friday night. The visitors must feel pretty good about themselves, heading into this contest with a perfect 2-0 record in preseason play. After several miserable seasons, they're looking to establish a winning culture and with the starters usually seeing plenty of action in Week 3, the Browns will have a solid edge. Tampa Bay has split a pair of close matchups with Pittsburgh and Miami. This team is simply not that good, and on top of that, the squad is banged up and will need to rest key players as it can not afford more injuries. The Buccaneers have struggled to defend the pass the last two seasons and with Cleveland QB Baker Mayfield expected to see a lot of action I think the Browns will move the ball with ease. 8* play on Cleveland Browns.
08-22-19 | Packers -125 v. Raiders | Top | 21-22 | Loss | -125 | 6 h 26 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* THURSDAY NIGHT MONEYLINE MASSACRE The Oakland Raiders have opened the year with wins over Arizona and LA Rams, but I think they'll come up short here when taking on the Green Bay Packers at IG Field in Winnipeg, Canada, Thursday night. While it's just a preseason game, I expect the Packers to want to bounce back from last week's 26-13 loss at unofficial preseason champions Baltimore Ravens (what is it, 15 straight preseason wins now???). Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was a late scratch for that contest. He has yet to take the field this preseason, and while Rodgers usually don't care much for exhibition games, this year might be different with a different system to get used to under new head coach Matt LaFleur. Either way, DeShone Kizer is a capable backup and can get the job done. As for the Raiders, the Antonio Brown saga must be at least somewhat distracting and the motivation might be low after winning twice already. Packers are 9-3-1 against the spread in their past 13 August games and 6-1 straight up versus Oakland over their last seven meetings. 10* play on Green Bay Packers.
08-22-19 | Panthers v. Patriots -3 | 3-10 | Win | 100 | 13 h 16 m | Show
THURSDAY NIGHT PANTHERS @ PATRIOTS BOOKIE BLASTER Historically, the third preseason game is usually treated as the dress rehearsal and more starters play, which I think will give the New England Patriots a massive edge here. New England QB Tom Brady hasn’t played in the preseason yet but has been quoted looking to get in the action. "I hope so," Brady said on his weekly radio appearance on WEEI. "Again, we had practice yesterday and we have practice today and then we will see what the coach decides. I hope to be out there. We'll see what happens". Whenever coach Bill Belichick decides that's enough, Brady's, backups Brian Hoyer and Jarrett Stidham are ready to take over and the duo has looked sharp in the first couple of games. As for the Carolina Panthers, they'll have to be careful with starting QB Cam Newton who will make his first appearance following a season-ending shoulder injury. The Panthers beat the Patriots 25-14 last year in the third preseason week, but I think the roles will be reversed tonight. 8* play on New England Patriots.
08-19-19 | 49ers v. Broncos UNDER 42 | 24-15 | Win | 100 | 19 h 34 m | Show
MONDAY NIGHT NINERS @ BRONCOS TOTAL The Denver Broncos have played two exhibition games in 2019 with both going under the total. The San Francisco 49ers opened their preseason with a 17-9 triumph over the Dallas Cowboys last week, and I predict another low-scoring affair in this one. This will Denver's new head coach Vic Fangio first game in front of the home town crowd, and even though it's just a preseason game I think he'll make sure to keep it tight. As for the Niners, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is expected to be back on the field for the first time since his season-ending injury in Week 3 last year, but points should still be hard to come by against this elite-level Broncos defense. 8* play on UNDER.
08-18-19 | Seahawks v. Vikings -2.5 | Top | 19-25 | Win | 100 | 9 h 15 m | Show |
TOP RATED SUNDAY NIGHT SEAHAWKS @ VIKINGS MAJOR WAGER The Seattle Seahawks have a decent overall preseason record in recent years, but they went 0-4 in exhibition play last year and I think they'll take a loss here, after opening the year with a 22-14 win over Denver. The Minnesota Vikings went 3-1 last preseason and they are 18-4 SU (15-7 ATS) over their last 22 exhibition games. They opened the season with a 34-25 triumph over New Orleans and starting QB Kirk Cousins finished 4-for-4 with 65 yards and a touchdown pass. The Vikings also pounded their opponent on the ground and I expect to see more from Cousins and the other starters as Mike Zimmer clearly likes a strong preseason to set the tone. Seattle QB Russell Wilson did not play a down in Week 1 and expects to make his 2019 preseason debut here. Head coach Pete Carroll plans to play all his healthy starters, although probably not more than a quarter, and I still like the deeper Vikings in this contest. 10* play on Minnesota Vikings.
08-17-19 | Chiefs v. Steelers +2.5 | 7-17 | Win | 100 | 20 h 15 m | Show
CHIEFS VS STEELERS BOOKIE BREAKER The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-28 in Week 1 of the 2019 preseason, and coach Mike Tomlin has already said more of the starters will be used in Week 2. They're 7-2 in their last nine preseason games and look good to pick up another win here. Note that this will be the Steelers last game home at Heinz Field before the regular season kicks off, so I'm sure they'll be up for this one. As for the visiting Kansas City Chiefs, they opened the 2019 preseason with a dominant 38-17 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Starting QB Patrick Mahomes went 4-for-4 for 66 yards but is unlikely to see any action in this contest as head coach Andy Reid will want to see more from backups Chase Litton and rookie Kyle Shurmur. Look for a fired-up Steelers side to get the W in front of the home town crowd. 8* play on Pittsburgh Steelers.
08-17-19 | Patriots -120 v. Titans | 22-17 | Win | 100 | 9 h 43 m | Show
NFLX 3-PACK The reigning Super Bowl champions New England Patriots limited Detroit to 93 yards of total offense in their 31-3 Week 1 victory. Star quarterback Tom Brady was kept on the sidelines for the whole contest but should see some action in this one. Coach Bill Belichick will most likely want to emphasize on the defense here on the road against a Tennesee Titans side that racked up 388 yards of offense in last week's 27-10 win over Philadelphia. Titans' starting QB Marcus Mariota hit just 50 percent of his eight passes for 24 yards, and even if he sees more action here he's likely to struggle against this Pats defense. Additionally to the under, I also like the Pats to come through with a win as they seek revenge for last season's Week 10 loss to the Titans. Yes, this is just a preseason game which shouldn't mean much, but revenge is revenge ... 8* play on New England Patriots.
08-17-19 | Patriots v. Titans UNDER 42 | 22-17 | Win | 100 | 9 h 43 m | Show

08-16-19 | Dolphins v. Bucs OVER 43 | 14-16 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 31 m | Show
SUBSCRIBERS ONLY The Miami Dolphins looked great in their Week 1win over the Falcons! Or did they, or were their opponent simply weak? Note that Atlanta is 0-3 on the preseason with losses to Denver (14-10), Miami (34-27) and the New York Jets (22-10). The Dolphins will face a much tougher opponent here in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who didn't look all that bad in their 30-28 loss at the Pittsburgh Steelers last Friday. They outgained the Steelers 479-339 and I expect the Bucs offense to fire on all cylinders here in front of the home town crowd. Additionally, with two first-year coaches in Brian Flores (Dolphins) and Bruce Arians (Bucs) I think both will want to see what they have to work with, turning this into an exciting shootout and pushing the score over the total. 8* play on OVER.
08-16-19 | Dolphins v. Bucs -3 | Top | 14-16 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 31 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* DOLPHINS @ BUCS BEST BET The Miami Dolphins looked great in their Week 1win over the Falcons! Or did they, or were their opponent simply weak? Note that Atlanta is 0-3 on the preseason with losses to Denver (14-10), Miami (34-27) and the New York Jets (22-10). 08-15-19 | Packers v. Ravens -4 | Top | 13-26 | Win | 100 | 31 h 21 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NFLX): MIKE'S TOP RATED THURSDAY NIGHT ATS ANNHILATOR Most head coaches could not care less about preseason results, but that's certainly not the case with Baltimore's John Harbaugh who is undefeated over his last 14 exhibition games with the Ravens. They shut out Jacksonville in a 29-0 triumph in Week 1 and look good to pick up another favorable result here against Green Bay on Thursday. The Packers have a first-year coach in Matt LaFleur. The pressure might be off a bit after opening the preseason with a 28-26 victory at Lambeau Field against Houston. They had no trouble scoring against the Texans, but points won't come nearly as easy against this sturdy Baltimore defense. 10* play on Baltimore Ravens.
08-15-19 | Eagles v. Jaguars -3 | 24-10 | Loss | -108 | 31 h 52 m | Show
THURSDAY NIGHT EAGLES @ JAGS NFLX BOOKIE BLASTER The Philadelphia Eagles lost 27-10 to the Tennessee Titans in Week 1 while the Jacksonville Jaguars took a 29-0 beating by the hands of Baltimore. While preseason results mean next to nothing, I still think the Jags will be up for this game after that shutout defeat, particularly as they get to play in front of the home town crowd. We can also note that Jacksonville won its final three preseason games after dropping last year’s opener while the Eagles lost three straight to open the 2018 preseason. 8* play on Jacksonville Jaguars.
08-10-19 | Cowboys v. 49ers OVER 36 | 9-17 | Loss | -105 | 17 h 10 m | Show
COWBOYS @ 49ERS SATURDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL TOTAL The Dallas Cowboys have lost six straight games in Week 1 of the preseason under head coach Jason Garrett. That includes a 24-21 loss to the San Francisco 49ers a year ago. While I'm not confident laying this many points against them, I'm happy to take the over on this contest. San Francisco starter Jimmy Garoppolo is unlikely to play, but the team will still feature two capable QBs in Nick Mullens and C.J. Beathard who are competing for the backup spot. As for the Cowboys, starting QB Dak Prescott isn’t expected to play more than one series but they also have two motivated signal callers in Cooper Rush and Mike White looking to make a case why they should be the backup. Both teams come in with significant injuries on the defensive side of the ball and I think offense will dominate this game. 8* play on OVER.
08-08-19 | Jaguars v. Ravens UNDER 34 | Top | 0-29 | Win | 100 | 85 h 50 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NFLX) TOP RATED JAGUARS @ RAVENS TOTAL Here we'll see two teams that were among the best in the league for total defense last season. While we're highly unlikely to see any first-stringers in this matchup, I still think the mindset will carry over. Additionally, we can note that Baltimore backup QB Robert Griffin III suffered a thumb injury during practice and is unlikely to get many snaps (if any at all), leaving them a bit light under center. As for the Jaguars, they have a new offensive coordinator in John DeFilippo who might need a couple of games to make an impact. Under is 5-1-1 in the last 7 meetings and this should be another low-scoring affair. 10* play on UNDER.
08-08-19 | Jets -1.5 v. Giants | 22-31 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 50 m | Show
NFLX BATTLE OF NEW YORK ~ JETS VS. GIANTS The New York Jets look like a solid favorite over city rival New York Giants at MetLife Stadium Thursday night. This will be the first preseason game for both teams, and the Jets must like their chances of finally beating the Giants after losing the last four preseason matchups. The Jets are fairly deep on the QB position with Trevor Siemian backing up Sam Darnold and it will be interesting to see how much RB Le'veon Bell will play after sitting out the entire 2018 season. "It's a fine line with Le'Veon. He hasn't played in a year," coach Adam Gase said, via the New York Post. "At the same time, when's the right time? Is it this game? Is it the next one? ..." I expect Gase to want to get Bell up to speed ASAP and the Jets to roll over a banged up Giants team that has suffered a handful of injuries in the early stages of training camp. 8* play on NY Jets.
08-01-19 | Broncos -2.5 v. Falcons | 14-10 | Win | 100 | 28 h 48 m | Show
BRONCOS VS. FALCONS HALL OF FAME GAME The Denver Broncos have flipped from an underdog to a favorite here in the Hall Of Fame Game, and for a good reason IMO. They have some interesting talent battling for the backup QB spot behind Joe Flacco (who will be rested here). Kevin Hogan, who was 43-of-67 passing for 462 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions for the Redskins last preseason has been named the starter for Thursday, but rookie second-round pick Drew Lock will also be eager to show off his skills. We can also note that Denver has hired Vic Fangio as its new head coach. Fangio led the Bears’ No. 1 defense in 2018 and if anyone can get Denver's D back on track it's him. I'm sure Fangio will put more emphasis on this contest than Atlanta head coach Dan Quinn who is 4-12 ATS overall in the preseason with the Falcons (0-8 ATS the last two years). 8* play on Denver Broncos.
08-30-18 | Vikings +101 v. Titans | Top | 13-3 | Win | 101 | 35 h 16 m | Show |
NFLX GAME OF THE WEEK The Minnesota Vikings are 2-1 in preseason this year following a 21-20 victory at home against the Seattle Seahawks in the dress rehearsal. They're now a solid 16-4 in preseason games under head coach Mike Zimmer, and I expect an easy Vikings win here at Tennessee Thursday night. The Tennessee Titans are 0-3 under new head coach Mike Vrabel who, while he no doubt will rest his starters here, will coach to win this game in order to avoid going into the regular season winless. Will it be enough to out-duel a seasoned coach like Zimmer though? I don't think so, especially with a banged up squad. "My thoughts right now are just try to evaluate who is healthy, who will be available and then we’ll make a decision later on in the week as to what we feel is best for the team,” Vrabel said, “and just trying to evaluate where guys are health-wise." The Titans are struggling to score points, just over 12 points per game in the preseason, and here they'll run into arguably the best defensive team in the league. Sure, Vikings won't play their starters in defense, but they still have a solid foundation. 10* NFLX Game of the Week: Minnesota Vikings.
08-30-18 | Browns v. Lions UNDER 36 | 35-17 | Loss | -110 | 34 h 51 m | Show
NFL PRESEASON FINALE TOTAL The Cleveland Browns are coming off a 5-0 triumph over Philadelphia and all of their three preseason games here in 2018 have gone under the total. The Lions backups orchestrated a comeback to beat Tampa Bay Buccaneers 33-30 on the road last week after trailing 20-6 at halftime. They're unlikely to light up the scoreboard like that two weeks in a row though. We won't see many starters for either team, and I think we'll see a sloppy, low-scoring contest. 8* play on UNDER.
08-25-18 | Ravens v. Dolphins | 27-10 | Win | 100 | 35 h 11 m | Show
NFLX BOOKIE BREAKER Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh simply loves winning preseason games. He's 31-12 SU throughout his career and undefeated through the last three seasons. This is the Ravens fourth preseason matchup and we can expect to see the starters get plenty of time on the gridiron here in the dress rehearsal. The Miami Dolphins have struggled through their first two games, first losing 26-24 against Tampa Bay before taking a 27-20 loss at Carolina last week. Starting QB Ryan Tannehill and the first-team offense are expected to play into the third quarter, but backup quarterback Bryce Petty was held out of Thursday’s practice because of an oblique injury. Ravens are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 meetings and have better depth. 8* play on Baltimore Ravens.
08-25-18 | Chiefs v. Bears -127 | 20-27 | Win | 100 | 74 h 58 m | Show
SATURDAY AFTERNOON MONEYLINE MASSACRE The Chicago Bears are coming off a 24-23 win over Denver. QB Mitchell Trubisky connected on 9-of-14 passes for 90 yards with one TD while backup QB Chase Daniel contributed with 189 passing yards and two touchdowns. KC has a solid quarterback rotation as well but Chicago's D is far from easy to break down. We can also note that the Chiefs already weak D is somewhat banged up with star safety Eric Berry remains out with an ankle injury. The edge is with the home team in this matchup. 8* play on Chicago Bears.
08-24-18 | Giants v. Jets -142 | 22-16 | Loss | -142 | 57 h 20 m | Show
FRIDAY NIGHT NFLX MONEYLINE MASSACRE The New York Jets have split their first two games of the preseason after shutting out the Falcons in a 17-0 triumph followed by a tough 15-13 loss on the road against the Washington Redskins in Week 2. I expect them to bounce against a banged up Giants team here Friday night. The Giants recorded an impressive 30-17 victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 2, but Eli Manning, Saquon Barkley, and Odell Beckham Jr. all watched the game from the sidelines. They're expected to see some action here in Week 3, but will probably not be left in for too long. The Jets have good depth behind center with Josh McCown, Sam Darnold and Teddy Bridgewater who has completed 17-of-23 passes through for 212 yards and two touchdowns here in the preseason. 8* play on NY Jets.
08-24-18 | Patriots v. Panthers -120 | Top | 14-25 | Win | 100 | 19 h 30 m | Show |
GAME OF THE MONTH (NFLX) The Carolina Panthers look like a solid home favorite when hosting the New England Patriots Friday night. Pats QB Tom Brady was great in last week's win against Philadelphia, completing 19-of-26 passes for 172 yards with two touchdowns and no picks. I don't think Bill Belichick will feel the need to give the 41 year old a lot of time on the field here, despite it being the "dress rehearsal" and all. Carolina star QB Cam Newton was 9-of-12 passing for 89 yards with one TD and one pick in a 27-20 win against Miami last week. Not a bad performance by any stretch, but I expect to see quite a lot of him tonight. "Ideally, we’d like to take our starters into the third quarter," said coach Ron Rivera. "Let them come out from halftime after we’ve gone through adjustments." 10* NFLX Game of the Month: Carolina Panthers.
08-23-18 | Eagles v. Browns -165 | 0-5 | Win | 100 | 11 h 48 m | Show
EAGLES @ BROWNS MONEYLINE MONEYMAKER The Cleveland Browns look like a solid favorite when hosting Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3 of the NFL preseason Thursday night. Eagles starting QB Carson Wentz has yet to play a game since returning to practice from knee surgery and I don't think Philly will risk leaving backup QB Nick Foles in for long, particularly as he was knocked out of the last game with a shoulder injury early in the second quarter. The Browns will look at this as their chance to beat the reigning Super Bowl champions and QBs Tyrod Taylor and Baker Mayfield will both be super motivated trying to make a case for the starting position. 8* play on Cleveland Browns.
08-20-18 | Ravens +100 v. Colts | Top | 20-19 | Win | 100 | 155 h 26 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NFLX) Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh is 30-12 in preseason games throughout his career and went perfect 4-0 both 2016 and 2017. He's been staying true to his focus on preseason games so far here in 2018 with back-to-back triumphs over Chicago (17-16) and LA Rams (33-7), and I predict another Baltimore triumph here at Indianapolis Monday night. The Colts head coach Frank Reich beat Seattle 19-17 on the road in his first game in charge of the team, but Indianapolis figures to be up for a tougher test here against a Baltimore side that held the Rams’ offense to just 49 passing yards and recorded four sack its last time out. 10* NFLX GAME OF THE WEEK: Baltimore Ravens.
08-18-18 | Raiders +3 v. Rams | 15-19 | Loss | -117 | 103 h 17 m | Show
RAIDERS @ RAMS BOOKIE BREAKER *TOP PLAY* Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden is 31-16 in preseason games and he led the Raiders to a 16-10 home win over the Lions last week. Oakland Detroist just 253 total yards, including 88 yards on the ground. The Rams took a 33-7 loss to the Ravens on the road last week and neither QB in the rotation had much success, despite the motivation of fighting for a backup role behind Jared Goff. Oakland has a deep QB rotation with Derek Carr, Connor Cook and EJ Manuel. Cook and Manuel are fighting for the backup spot behind Carr. Cook hit 11-of-10 passes for 141 yards and a TD against Detroit while Manuel hit 4-of-6 for 46 yards. Take the points on Oakland. 10* play on Oakland Raiders.
08-11-18 | Vikings -103 v. Broncos | Top | 42-28 | Win | 100 | 133 h 56 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NFLX): VIKINGS @ BRONCOS Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer owns a 14-3 preseason record, even though his team was just 2-2 in 2017. The reigning NFC North champions look strong with new quarterback Kirk Cousins and backup QB Trevor Siemian will no doubt be looking to air it out here against his former team. The Vikings are deep on most positions and they can always rely on their defense, no matter if it's their starters or reserves out on the gridiron. The Broncos on the other hand are not what they used to be and held just four opponents under 20 points last year. Denver coach Vance Joseph was perfect 4-0 in preseason last year, but that winning streak ends now. NFLX Game of the Week: Minnesota Vikings.
08-02-18 | Bears v. Ravens -2.5 | Top | 16-17 | Loss | -112 | 9 h 24 m | Show |
BEARS @ RAVENS *TOP PLAY* Handicapping preseason NFL is never easy, but I think we have a solid reason to back Ravens here with Baltimore coach John Harbaugh owning a 28-12 preseason record overall and going 4-0 both in 2016 and 2017. Chicago head coach Matt Nagy (former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator) on the other hand has no experience being in charge of an NFL team. 10* play on Baltimore Ravens.
08-31-17 | Dolphins v. Vikings -3 | Top | 30-9 | Loss | -110 | 64 h 6 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NFLX GAME OF THE YEAR The Minnesota Vikings trailed San Francisco 14-0 at half time in Week 3 but came back to beat the 49ers 32-31 with a 2-point conversion on the final play of the game here at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Just more evidence of how much Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer cares about these preseason games (2-1, this year, 14-2 all time). The Miami Dolphins on the other hand are coming off a 38-31 setback at Philadelphia last week to fall to 1-2 in the preseason. They've allowed 69 points and 808 yards through their last two games, and that won't cut it here against a Vikings team looking to keep the momentum going. The Vikings have a solid D and Miami must be careful with QB Jay Cutler as they've already lost Ryan Tannehill for the year. My NFLX Game of the Year is a 10* play on Minnesota Vikings.
08-27-17 | Bengals v. Redskins UNDER 45 | 17-23 | Win | 100 | 17 h 38 m | Show
REDSKINS/BENGALS TOTAL The Washington Redskins host the Cincinnati Bengals at FedExField in Week 3 of preseason action Sunday afternoon. The Bengals are coming off a 30-12 loss against Kansas City and didn't score even a single touchdown in the defeat. We can expect to see starting QB Andy Dalton get more time on the field after completing 7-of-13 throws for 98 yards in the loss to KC, but note that the Redskins held the Packers to just 156 passing yards in a 21-17 loss last week. Cincinnati has struggled to stop the run and gave up 228 rushing yards against the Chiefs last week, but I don't see Washington pose much of a threat on the ground after accumulating just 101 rushing yards over its first two games. This total is too bloated to not take a stab at the under. My selection is an 8* play on Under.
08-26-17 | Browns v. Bucs -2.5 | 13-9 | Loss | -125 | 55 h 46 m | Show
NFLX Saturday *BANKROLL BUILDER* The Cleveland Browns travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers in Week 3 of preseason action Saturday night. The Browns have held the Giants and the Saints to a total of just 20 points through back-to-back victories, but I think they'll come up short here against the Bucs. Tampa Bay has split its two games with a 23-12 defeat at Cincinnati followed by a 12-8 win at Jacksonville last Thursday. They have a big rest advantage as the Browns played Monday against the Giants. It's also worth noting that they will play in front of the home town crowd for the first time this season, and they have a solid QB in Jameis Winston who completed 21-of-29 passes for 196 yards in the last game and should get plenty of time on the field here in Week 3. The Browns will give rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer the start under center. They must feel pretty good with a 2-0 record in the preseason, but it's a very deceptional record, and it should all change here in Week 3 when each team's starters get more playing time. My selection is an 8* play on Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
08-25-17 | Patriots -2.5 v. Lions | 30-28 | Loss | -110 | 38 h 11 m | Show
Friday Night NFLX *MONEYMAKER* The New England Patriots are 0-2 in the preseason, but I think they'll turn up the tempo here at Detroit in Week 3. We're likely to see more of Tom Brady and the other starters, and then they're simply a much better team than Matthew Stafford and the Lions who are unbeaten through their two warmup games so far. The Lions may have been solid on the defensive side of the ball, but they've not looked all that good offensively averaging 20 points per game. The Pats have scored a total of 47 points despite losing twice, and I think their defense will improve enough this week to make Pats the play. My selection is an 8* play on New England Patriots.
08-21-17 | Giants v. Browns UNDER 39.5 | 6-10 | Win | 100 | 36 h 38 m | Show
NFLX *BANKROLL BUILDER* The Cleveland Browns will host the New York Giants here in Week 2 of the NFL preseason. The Giants fell 20-12 to the Steelers last week while the Browns defeated the Saints 20-14. I'm not quite sure who will win this game, but I'm pretty confident we'll see a tight and low-scoring contest. Both teams are short on talent on the offensive side of the ball, and note that the Giants had the second best D in the league last season, allowing an average of just 17.8 points per game. The Browns ranked 31st in the league in yards allowed and 30th in points conceded last season, but they've upgraded their defense during the summer. They limited the Saints to 238 yards passing and 82 yards rushing last week, and they should be able to contain the Giants subpar offense (26th in scoring, putting up just 19.4 ppg last season). My selection is an 8* play on Under 39.5 points.
08-17-17 | Ravens +3 v. Dolphins | Top | 31-7 | Win | 100 | 61 h 11 m | Show |
*GAME OF THE WEEK* (NFLX) Top Rated 10* Selection The Ravens' started their preseason with a dominant 23-3 victory against Washington home at Baltimore last week, and head coach John Harbaugh is now boasting a 25-12 preseason record. The Miami Dolphins managed to beat Atlanta 23-20 at home in their preseason opener Thursday night, but had to outscore their opponent 33-0 in the fourth to get the victory. The Ravens are 7-0 ATS in their last seven head-to-head meetings and they've covered five straight games at Miami. It's usually tough for teams to get their offense going in the preseason games, giving teams with the better defense the advantage. In this contest that's definitely the Ravens' (note that they limited the Redskins to 138 yards of total offense in Week 1), and I also like the fact that Harbaugh takes the preseason seriously. My selection is a 10* play on Baltimore Ravens +3.
08-13-17 | Seahawks +113 v. Chargers | 48-17 | Win | 113 | 65 h 2 m | Show
Sunday NFLX *BANKROLL BUILDER* This contest will mark the Chargers' first game since moving to L.A. from San Diego. Unfortunately for them I think they'll start the new era with a loss. The Seattle Seahawks were a solid 3-1 in the preseason last year and head coach Pete Carroll is a solid 18-10 in the warmup games. The Chargers meanwhile were 1-3 last year and they have a new head coach in former Bills offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn. Seattle has three competent running backs in Eddie Lacy, Thomas Rawls and C.J. Prosise who all will be looking to impress do lock down the starting spot for the season opener. Pete Carroll has a deep roster to work with, and the Seahawks' defense should do a good enough job shutting down the Chargers' weak second string offense to win this game. My selection is an 8* play on Seattle Seahawks.
08-10-17 | Vikings -135 v. Bills | 17-10 | Win | 100 | 32 h 33 m | Show
NFLX *BANKROLL BUILDER* I think this looks like a good spot to back the Minnesota Vikings on the road at Buffalo in their first preseason game. The Vikings will most likely put plenty of emphasis on their running game as they need to see where they stand and prepare for life without Adrian Peterson. Latavius Murray who spent the last two seasons with the Raiders is likely to fill the gap, but he has plenty of competition and needs to impress here in the preseason. The Buffalo Bills have a new Head Coach in Sean McDermott who had plenty of success as Defensive Coordinator at Carolina between 2011-2016, but it might take him a while to get things right at Buffalo. The Vikings are 10-1-1 ATS in their last 12 games on turf while the Bills are just 1-4 ATS in their last five games on turf. We can also note that Minnesota Head Coach Mike Zimmer has a 12-1 career preseason record with the Vikings. My selection is an 8* play on Minnesota Vikings ML.
09-01-16 | Texans -3 v. Cowboys | 28-17 | Win | 100 | 40 h 12 m | Show
NFL Preseason *PUNISHER* The Dallas Cowboys have made it clear that Dak Prescott will not play in this game, and I've seen reports suggest that they'll rest every starter in this contest. With Tony Romo out that leaves the team with just one available QB (Jameil Showers), and this looks like a good spot to back the Houston Texans. The Texans came away with a 34-24 win over the Cardinals in an incredible performance by Brock Osweiler last week. Osweiler might not get all that many snaps here in week 4, but I think the Texans have a deeper team on both sides of the ball. Dallas will be more concerned about not sustaining any more injuries while the Texans will be looking to defend their perfect record here in the preseason.
09-01-16 | Patriots +3 v. Giants | 9-17 | Loss | -115 | 13 h 41 m | Show
NFL Preseason *PUNISHER* How often do you get spotted a field goal while backing the New England Patriots? Both teams expected to rest plenty of starters (obviously) and then it comes down to coaching and roster depth. Advantage the Patriots in both those areas IMO, and this is a no-brainer play on the Patriots plus the points.
09-01-16 | Titans +115 v. Dolphins | 21-10 | Win | 115 | 5 h 51 m | Show
NFLX Either the Tennessee Titans or the Miami Dolphins will finish the preseason with a 3-1 record. My money is on the Titans. Miami has struggled offensively but managed to grind out a 17-6 win against Atlanta last week thanks to some sturdy defending. Tonight they'll come up an interesting Titans team that won 27-14 at Oakland last week. Tennessee has plenty of young players still looking to prove themselves, and I like the visitors as a dog at Hard Rock Stadium tonight. |
