08-27-23 | Texans v. Saints -2 | Top | 17-13 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 51 m | Show |
The Texans also must fix their run defense. Somehow, they allowed the Dolphins to gash them repeatedly. The Texans allowed Salvon Ahmed to average 8.3 yards per carry against them. Then, they let Chris Brooks average 4.3 yards-per-carry and Raheem Mostert hit 5.0 yards-per-carry.
08-27-23 | Texans v. Saints UNDER 37.5 | Top | 17-13 | Win | 100 | 12 h 41 m | Show |
The Texans will continue their strong evaluation of CJ Stroud. Ultimately, they will see how he plays, and the plan is to play a couple of series to determine how he handles NFL action early. But the Texans need to establish a running game. Unfortunately, all the running backs struggled. The offensive line must do a better job of opening holes and giving the running backs opportunities to run through them. Therefore, they have two weeks to prepare for the Baltimore Ravens, and running the ball and keeping the chains moving will be the best way to keep Lamar Jackson off the field.
08-26-23 | Ravens +2 v. Bucs | Top | 20-26 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 6 m | Show |

08-25-23 | Chargers +7.5 v. 49ers | Top | 23-12 | Win | 100 | 35 h 30 m | Show |
The 49ers are planning to play all of their starters in the preseason finale versus the Chargers. Typically, the third game of the preseason throughout the history of the NFL has always been viewed as the "dress rehearsal" game. It acts as a light warmup to the regular season as opposed to just throwing the starters into the deep end from the jump. But a team that is as established as the 49ers arguably doesn't need that. Playing all of the starters is a real gamble due to potential injuries, but that is something Kyle Shanahan isn't overthinking. In fact, he views this as a great benefit to his starters to play in the final preseason game. Still too many points for me
08-25-23 | Lions v. Panthers OVER 37 | Top | 26-17 | Win | 100 | 33 h 37 m | Show |
Friday night’s preseason finale between the Detroit Lions and Carolina Panthers will be a good example of the difference in coaching philosophies regarding the exhibition season. The Lions will not play any starters in the game, based on head coach Dan Campbell’s statement prior to Tuesday’s practice. Campbell noted of the final exhibition matchup, “It’s going to look very much like the first two games.” Detroit sat all the offensive starters and even some key reserves in the first two preseason games. Most defensive starters have also been rested throughout the preseason.
08-24-23 | Colts v. Eagles UNDER 38 | Top | 27-13 | Loss | -110 | 32 h 18 m | Show |
After a lively Joint practice on Friday that ended with a fight between the two teams, Philly and Indy will get to settle things on the scoreboard. What was supposed to be a nice reunion in the City of Brotherly Love quickly turned chippy. Nonetheless, the opposing sideline will feature new Colts head coach Shane Steichen, who was the Eagles' offensive coordinator in 2021 and 2022. He’s making his return to Philly after helping lead the team to the Super Bowl last season, and he brings with him Colts quarterback Gardner Minshew, who had been with the Eagles for the past two seasons. Sirianni will also be facing his former team. He was the Colts’ offensive coordinator from 2018-2020.
08-24-23 | Colts -4.5 v. Eagles | Top | 27-13 | Win | 100 | 32 h 2 m | Show |
Indianapolis Colts rookie Anthony Richardson is expected to start the preseason finale Thursday against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. Following the joint practices Tuesday in Philly, head coach Shane Steichen confirmed that most of the starters, including Richardson, would see the field for the finale.
08-21-23 | Ravens -1 v. Commanders | Top | 28-29 | Loss | -110 | 30 h 27 m | Show |
The Baltimore Ravens play the Washington Commanders on Monday night in the second of their three preseason games. The Ravens have a chance to extend their 24-game winning streak in the preseason dating back to 2016. After a couple of lively joint practices on Wednesday and Thursday this week, this matchup is highlighted a deeper look at preseason standouts and the offense under new offensive coordinator Todd Monken. Quarterback Tyler Huntley looks to continue his brilliance in preseason Week 1. The fourth-year quarterback was 8-of-11 for 88 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown pass to Tylan Wallace in the Ravens' win. Baltimore first-round receiver Zay Flowers has been tormenting his teammates in training camp and against the Commanders in joint practices. Keep an eye on the rookie on Monday night as he is slated to have a large role in Baltimore's new offense. Flowers' debut in Week 1 did not jump off the page, playing only eight snaps without a catch ... However, he impressed off the ball.
08-20-23 | Saints -3.5 v. Chargers | Top | 22-17 | Win | 100 | 29 h 8 m | Show |
On Friday in a joint practice with the New Orleans Saints, the Chargers’ ground game looked improved. This was the positive on a day when Justin Herbert and the passing attack struggled to make any bold statements. Only two teams — Tampa Bay and Houston — rushed for fewer yards last season than the Chargers. They averaged 89.6 yards per game, which was fewer than Josh Jacobs and Derrick Henry. In their first preseason game, the Chargers amassed 214 rushing yards against the Rams but that was behind mostly reserves along the offensive line and without Ekeler suiting up. I think the Chargers will take a step back this week with this being a somewhat dress rehearsal if the game is played at all.
08-20-23 | Saints v. Chargers OVER 37.5 | Top | 22-17 | Win | 100 | 29 h 6 m | Show |
Both teams are coming off a week one performance that will be enough to push this game over the total. This will be a dress rehearsal for both teams on the back of practicing together for two days this past week. The Chargers still don't appear happy with their passing game, so expect both teams to throw quite a bit. Look for a high-scoring game if the game is played at all.
08-19-23 | Bucs v. Jets UNDER 37 | Top | 13-6 | Win | 100 | 10 h 42 m | Show |

08-18-23 | Panthers v. Giants UNDER 39 | Top | 19-21 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 21 m | Show |
Last Saturday wasn’t exactly a pretty welcome for the Panthers 2022 third-round pick Matt Corral, who missed the entirety of his rookie campaign with a Lisfranc fracture. Corral struggled early and often, failing to pick up a first down on his first three possessions. He was also responsible for two turnovers—a fumble and a late pick—in an offense that simply could not move the football. The rough outing wasn’t too much of a surprise given his absence (and that offensive line). But Corral will need to show the Panthers something to warrant a roster spot.
08-17-23 | Browns v. Eagles UNDER 38 | Top | 18-18 | Win | 100 | 34 h 28 m | Show |
Dorian Thompson-Robinson has put in two strong performances so far. While no amount of preseason heroics will displace Deshaun Watson, the rookie's trajectory is worth watching on two levels. First, backup quarterbacks do matter; it's easy to write them off, but you don't want to be without a reliable No. 2 option when the starter goes down. If Thompson-Robinson can continue to prove himself, he might enter the season as the Browns' secondary signal-caller. Beyond that, preseason can be an opportunity for a player to put himself in the shop window. Even if he doesn't show enough to secure the Browns' backup job, DTR could show enough to earn a job with another organization. You never know who's watching a performance, and when that scout or executive will come calling.
08-17-23 | Browns +4 v. Eagles | Top | 18-18 | Win | 100 | 7 h 58 m | Show |

08-13-23 | 49ers v. Raiders OVER 35 | Top | 7-34 | Win | 100 | 15 h 23 m | Show |
He may not be the permanent starter, but Trey Lance will be the 49ers' starting quarterback for San Francisco's preseason opener against the Las Vegas Raiders. Lance got the nod to start over fellow former first-round pick Sam Darnold, who signed with the 49ers this offseason after spending the past two seasons with the Carolina Panthers. According to head coach Kyle Shanahan, the plan is for Lance to play most of the first half and Darnold to play in the second half. Veteran Brandon Allen, the fourth quarterback on the 49ers' roster, will also get some playing time Sunday in Las Vegas.
08-13-23 | Chiefs +1.5 v. Saints | Top | 24-26 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 16 m | Show |
On offense, the progress of the Chiefs' young wide receivers is far and away the most intriguing element. With Kadarius Toney out, it remains to be seen how much starters such as Skyy Moore and potentially Marquez Valdes-Scantling will play. There's a clear drop-off after that, though, which could lead to the likes of rookie Rashee Rice, second-year wideout Justyn Ross, and veteran Richie James getting plenty of snaps. Kansas City's receiver room is loaded with youth, and the preseason presents an opportunity for everyone to shine.

Minnesota’s defensive deficiencies last year were no secret to anyone watching. They made bad quarterbacks like Mac Jones, Mike White and Daniel Jones (twice) look like All-Pros. It was absolutely maddening watching their corners line up 15 yards off the ball and drop into shell coverage snap after every snap. Former defensive coordinator Ed Donatell may have been a Vic Fangio disciple, but he certainly couldn’t convey the same message. Enter Brian Flores, who has proven to be one of the better defensive minds in the game over the past decade. He should instantly transform a unit that was the most conservative in football into an ultra-aggressive group. It will be interesting to see how Flores decides to set the tone in Preseason Week 1. Defenses tend to get a little more vanilla as those games progress, but a few early blitzes would be a welcome sight.
08-10-23 | Texans v. Patriots OVER 36.5 | Top | 20-9 | Loss | -110 | 30 h 20 m | Show |
Resting starters entirely during the preseason, leaving the relatively dirty work to joint practices, has become a growing trend in the modern NFL. But if the preseason still has a purpose, it's made for teams like the Patriots, who are searching for a sense of offensive identity and consistency, especially after Jones' tumultuous winter and spring. New England is also looking for places where their plethora of picks can make an impact either in the short or long term.
08-03-23 | Jets v. Browns +2.5 | Top | 16-21 | Win | 100 | 56 h 45 m | Show |
Like the Jets, the Browns went 7-10 last year and are hoping to be a player in the AFC playoff race this season. This will be the first full season in Cleveland for Deshaun Watson, who split his six starts last season while completing just 58.2 percent of his throws in those games. Watson will again lean on the running of Nick Chubb, a Pro Bowler each of the last four years. Last year, Chubb ran for a career-high 1,525 yards that included 12 touchdown runs and a 5 yards-per-carry average. Thursday night will be Browns fans' first look at rookie Cedric Tillman, a third-round pick who caught 64 passes for 1,081 yards and 12 touchdowns during his final season at Tennessee. Also making his NFL debut for Cleveland is quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson, a fifth-round pick who threw for 3,154 yards and 27 touchdowns last fall while guiding UCLA to a 9-4 record.
08-13-22 | Cowboys v. Broncos -3.5 | Top | 7-17 | Win | 100 | 11 h 44 m | Show |
We won't see Russell Wilson but there are many regular Broncos that will see significant time, like Montrell Washington. In their joint practice Thursday, the Broncos' offense held a major advantage throughout.
08-27-21 | Vikings +4 v. Chiefs | Top | 25-28 | Win | 103 | 14 h 10 m | Show |
Kansas City's offense will be led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes who looked okay in the second preseason game. In that game, he completed 10 of his 18 pass attempts for 78 passing yards and zero touchdowns. However, he also threw one interception and this number smells like a trap.
08-19-21 | Patriots v. Eagles OVER 38 | Top | 35-0 | Loss | -106 | 10 h 52 m | Show |
Don't take much from what we just saw from the Eagles and try to apply that to this match-up. The Eagles will be much better on the offensive side of the ball. We're going against the public in this one as both teams' offenses will be on display.
08-15-21 | Panthers v. Colts UNDER 33 | Top | 18-21 | Loss | -110 | 1 h 59 m | Show |
On the defensive side of the football, the most intriguing to watch for is first-round defensive end Kwity Paye. The Colts have him listed as one of the starting defensive ends in their 4-3 defense and his presence on the defensive line could be a huge addition. Indianapolis was tied for 12th with 40 total sacks last season and had an opposing quarterback rating of 90.5 so they are adding to a pretty decent defense. If the Colts can play a good brand of defense this season, they should be able to capture a postseason spot this season.
08-14-21 | Saints v. Ravens OVER 36 | Top | 14-17 | Loss | -108 | 13 h 31 m | Show |
We don’t expect New Orleans to play very many veterans on that side of the ball in this game or in the preseason as a whole, so prepare to see the second and third stringers right from the get-go on defense. Coach Payton has been average in his 63 total preseason games, going 27-26 against the spread. To avoid injury, you can expect Baltimore to sit Lamar Jackson until the final preseason game, going with Trace McSorley to open this game. He is largely unproven but possesses a similar running style to Lamar which is what the Ravens want from their quarterbacks. Baltimore added G Kevin Zeitler and T Alejandro Villanueva to upgrade their offensive line and further protect their star. We likely won’t see running back Gus Edwards for this game, but backup Justice Hill has shown glimpses of breaking out. Expect to see the youngster early and often. John Harbaugh has been excellent in the preseason throughout his career, going a whopping 34-14-1 against the spread. His teams come out ready to rock in these games.
08-13-21 | Bills v. Lions -1 | Top | 16-15 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 53 m | Show |
While the preseason will always be an exhibition and nothing more, it seems notable looking back that Patricia lost his first game 16-10 against the Las Vegas Raiders back in 2018. During that game, the Lions started slow, looked disorganized at times, and struggled on both sides of the ball all around. Two years later, many of those same problems were still dogging Patricia’s team, leading to his eventual dismissal. While the first preseason game shouldn’t mean everything in terms of judgment, it can certainly help get things off on the right foot for the franchise at a critical time on the field. For Campbell, the hope is things go smoother than the 2018 preseason and regular-season opener. From the start, the old coaching staff seemed to be behind the eight-ball. Campbell cannot watch that play out for his tenure. Win or lose, there has to be a feeling of organization that Patricia never achieved.
08-12-21 | Washington Football Team v. Patriots UNDER 36.5 | Top | 13-22 | Win | 100 | 15 h 40 m | Show |
Washington doesn’t boast the depth along the edge we saw in 2020, but this is still a talented front seven. First-round pick Jamin Davis makes his NFL debut at linebacker, Shaka Toney gets to prove he was worth more than a 7th-round pick and then there’s the Chase Young-Montez Sweat duo. They'll be enough defense in this game to push this game under the total.
08-12-21 | Steelers v. Eagles UNDER 35 | Top | 24-16 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 35 m | Show |
The Steelers will have the built-in advantage of having already seen live-action in the Hall of Fame Game. Veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger didn't play in the opener and it's unclear whether he will take snaps on Thursday. Backups Mason Rudolph and Joshua Dobbs, along with new acquisition Dwayne Haskins put together a solid if unspectacular performance. They combined to go 18-of-28 for 174 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions.
08-05-21 | Cowboys v. Steelers -1.5 | Top | 3-16 | Win | 100 | 34 h 49 m | Show |
There isn't one team that Dana Lane follows closer than the Dallas Cowboys. The concern for me starts with the Cowboy quarterbacks. We're aren't going to see Dak Prescott in this one with his back-ups presenting a significant drop in talent. Mike McCarthy wants to see Garrett Gilbert for the first half with Cooper Rush and Ben DiNucci cleaning up. Rush could be the one that will end up on the waiver wire to end camp. Regardless of who plays, I can't envision the Boys putting up enough points to cash a ticket in this one. Every one of these signal-callers has had average camps at best.
08-29-19 | Steelers v. Panthers OVER 33 | Top | 19-25 | Win | 100 | 77 h 52 m | Show |
The Steelers have allowed just 13 combined points in their last two games and haven’t allowed a touchdown in their last two quarters but game 4 will be about guys who want to make an impact for a final push on their current team or to put something positive on tape for others to see. This will play more like a pro-bowl.
08-29-19 | Vikings v. Bills UNDER 35.5 | Top | 23-27 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 43 m | Show |
Minnesota had a relatively uninspiring performance against Arizona with their first-team offense but managed to come up with the victory Saturday. Too many reserves in this one for me to go over.
08-29-19 | Colts v. Bengals UNDER 34 | Top | 13-6 | Win | 100 | 8 h 25 m | Show |
With Andrew Luck's retirement this certainly makes Frank Reich change the way he may use his quarterbacks in this one. Instead of Jacoby Brissett getting extended time he likely will get very little time.
08-29-19 | Falcons v. Jaguars OVER 31 | Top | 31-12 | Win | 100 | 7 h 11 m | Show |
Everyone seems to be on the UNDER which I appreciate after driving this number down to a miniscule 31.
08-24-19 | Bears v. Colts OVER 36.5 | Top | 27-17 | Win | 100 | 5 h 36 m | Show |
The Bears have allowed almost 28 points a game in two preseason losses with both games cashing OVER tickets. The Bears will do just enough to get this game OVER while still trying to figure out their defensive identity.
08-24-19 | Cardinals v. Vikings OVER 42 | Top | 9-20 | Loss | -110 | 1 h 55 m | Show |
The Minnesota Vikings have been as impressive on the offensive side of the ball than anyone in the league in preseason, a far cry from the 2018-19 season. Expect the first teams for both squads to play the first half making this an easy OVER.
08-22-19 | Redskins v. Falcons OVER 41 | Top | 19-7 | Loss | -104 | 6 h 34 m | Show |
Perhaps Dan Quinn is going to find a way to finally get a preseason win. In order to do they'll have to show off one of the league's most dynamic offenses in their dress rehearsal. The Skins are still trying to figure out who will be their starting QB so anticipate the ball in the air on offense.
08-22-19 | Panthers v. Patriots OVER 41.5 | Top | 3-10 | Loss | -105 | 5 h 22 m | Show |

08-19-19 | 49ers v. Broncos OVER 40 | Top | 24-15 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 33 m | Show |
The Denver QB rotation should give us a chance to score often throughout the game for former Bears DC, now Broncos Head Coach, Vic Fangio.
08-18-19 | Seahawks v. Vikings OVER 40.5 | Top | 19-25 | Win | 100 | 7 h 8 m | Show |
The Vikings are coming off an extremely efficient offensive performance in their first game of the preseason. Kirk Cousins only threw four passes, but he completed all of them for 65 yards and a touchdown and set the tone for what wound up being a 460-yard offensive night in a 34-25 win over the Saints. Behind a revamped offensive line, the Vikings committed to running the ball and wound up rushing for 213 yards on the night.
08-15-19 | Raiders v. Cardinals OVER 39 | Top | 33-26 | Win | 100 | 3 h 40 m | Show |
Drama equals points and we know the Raiders have plenty of each in the tank. Jon Gruden typically likes to win preseason games which also is a positive factor for the over. The public has bet this down so get the better number as this thing flies OVER.
08-09-19 | Bucs v. Steelers OVER 36.5 | Top | 28-30 | Win | 100 | 8 h 50 m | Show |
With all the offseason movement in Pittsburgh the Steelers are going to want to move on offensively and will give that side of the ball every chance to do that.
08-08-19 | Broncos v. Seahawks OVER 36 | Top | 14-22 | Push | 0 | 6 h 11 m | Show |
This is a Bronco's team has to be focused on getting better on the offensive side of the football. Throw aside what we saw in the Hall of Fame Game. Most of the starters on both sides are expected to see action. I expect all Denver QB's to be sharper than last week.
08-08-19 | Titans v. Eagles OVER 36.5 | Top | 27-10 | Win | 100 | 5 h 16 m | Show |
Logan Woodside will receive the majority of action in this one as neither Marcus Mariotta or Ryan Tennehill but that doesn't mean Tennessee won't move the ball. He has been the talk of practice as he's been called a 'Gunslinger'. He'll have a stable of running backs that have an equal chance to make the team so expect a pretty effective offense from the Titans.
08-08-19 | Colts v. Bills OVER 35 | Top | 16-24 | Win | 100 | 6 h 12 m | Show |
