Astros vs Mariners Free Pick July 30, 2018 – Jesse Schule

This is a Free play on the Houston Astros

Houston is coming off four straight losses, and they suffered their first sweep of the season at home versus Texas. This is still the best team in baseball, and I like their chances of getting back on track here in Seattle.

Gerrit Cole will toe the slab for Houston, and he’s been dealing all season long. Cole (10-2, 2.54 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on five hits, striking out nine over 6 1/3 innings in a win at Colorado his last time out. He’s 6-1 with a 2.56 ERA in 11 appearances on the road this season.

The Mariners hand the ball to James Paxton, who is returning from a back injury. The Big Maple had surrendered seven runs on 10 hits over 7 2/3 innings in back to back losses before taking a few weeks off to rest his sore back. The Mariners might be a little careful with their ace here, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he was pulled early.

Seattle ranks dead last in the major leagues in scoring since the All Star break.

Take HOU.
