Preview
The Saints host the Falcons on Monday Night Football, and the boomakers are expecting an old fashioned shootout. The total for tonight’s game opened at 52.5, but all the money is on the over, and it’s since been bet up a couple points. According to Covers.com Consensus Analysis, 75 percent of the public is betting the over. The Saints defense really did stink last year, and it didn’t look like anything hand changed in a Week 1 home loss to Oakland. Last week on the road in New York, they showed signs of improvement, limiting the Giants offense to just three field goals. The Falcons offense is coming in hot, after putting up 528 total yards on the road in a 35-28 win at Oakland. History doesn’t seem to support such an inflated number here for tonight’s game, as only once in the last seven meetings have these two teams pushed the total over the number. The Falcons have failed to cover in four of their last five at the Superdome, and they are just 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games.
