The Angle(s): This is a very low number, and I understand why, but this is way to low of a total to pass up on an over.  The Hall of Fame Game has hit the over in four consecutive years dating back to 2022, and both teams are entering Canton with deep quarterback rotations.

The initial preseason game of the year is notoriously prone to blown coverages, missed tackles, and procedural penalties on defense, and Arizona head coach Mike LaFleur and Carolina head coach Dave Canales both come from progressive, high-volume offensive schemes.

The Angle(s): Minnesota sends right-hander Bailey Ober (7-3, 4.45 ERA) to the mound, while Kansas City counters with veteran righty Michael Wacha (5-8, 3.51 ERA). With the Twins sliding down the standings and Ober struggling away from home 2-3 wtih a 7.15 ERA, I like the price we get on the Royals in this one.

White Sox @ Red Sox MLB BOOKIE BREAKER

The Angle(s): The Chicago White Sox bats continue to struggle mightily, dropping Wednesday’s contest for their second shutout loss in four games. Going up against Ranger Suárez (4-3, 3.15 ERA), who continues to give up minimal damage, Chicago could easily find themselves stymied at the plate once again.

Newly acquired Luis Castillo (3-9, 5.06 ERA) gets his first start in a White Sox uniform. Looking to bounce back from a rough stretch in Seattle, Castillo has plenty of motivation to put on a show in his Chicago debut.

The Angle(s): The Cincinnati Reds look to complete a clean home sweep as they host the struggling Oakland Athletics at Great American Ball Park.  The Athletics send right-hander Mason Barnett (1-1, 4.85 ERA) to the mound, while Cincinnati counters with young southpaw Andrew Abbott (5-7, 3.91 ERA). The A’s enter this matchup riding a brutal seven-game skid, and their struggles against left-handed starters, 12-28 record with a -36% ROI, makes me like Cincy a lot.

The Bet: Reds -1½ (4%). 

Bationals vs Phillies MLB RUNLINE RIPPER

The Angle(s): The Washington Nationals look to ride the momentum of Wednesday’s wild 10-4 extra-inning win as they close out their series against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.

While Cristopher Sánchez (14-4, 2.61 ERA) has posted elite overall numbers this year, Washington's lineup has consistently found ways to put pressure on lefties early. As road underdogs against southpaws, the Nats boast a stellar 15-6 straight-up record, yielding a lucrative +68% ROI for bettors.

Miles Mikolas (3-8, 5.67 ERA) isn't going to blow anyone away, but if he can keep the ball in the park and navigate five solid innings, the Nats' scrapiness can carry the run line. The line is what it is as Washington is shorthanded, but that just means more value for us.
