Chargers vs. Falcons Betting Preview 10/23/16
Betting Preview
Both the Colts and the Saints beat the Chargers with winning scores with under two minutes left in the game. Then they fumbled a snap for the game tying field goal against the Raiders and the Chargers had a three game losing streak. They broke that last week when their defense held Denver to only three points in the first three quarters and won the game 21-13. They have a capable offense that is ranked third in the league in scoring and they average almost 29 points a game but their defense gives up almost 26 points a game.
The Falcons lost their second game last week on a field goal with just over two minutes left in the game to Seattle. In their two previous games they beat both Superbowl teams from last year Denver and Carolina in back to back wins. Atlanta is the top scoring team in the NFL averaging over 33 points a game and quarterback Matt Ryan leads the league with over 2000 passing yards, 15 TD’s and three picks.
The oddsmakers have made Atlanta a 7 point favorite with the total at 53.5. According to Covers.com Consensus Analysis 61% of the public think Atlanta at home should cover the spread while 75% are backing the over with these two high scoring teams. That is a little surprising as the teams went under the total the last seven times they played each other.
