Cleveland Browns Season Win Total Over (OTB)
Cleveland Browns 2022 Betting Odds
- To win Super Bowl: +2000 (BET365)
- To win AFC North: +275 (BET365)
Bookmakers have pulled the odds off the board for Cleveland’s season win total, pending the NFL’s decision on quarterback Deshaun Watson. Mike Florio is reporting that there is a deal on the table that would have Watson suspended for 25 games total, however that would include the games he missed sitting out all of last season. If this deal is accepted, that has Watson missing the first eight games of the upcoming season. We won’t offer any comment on whether or not such a deal is appropriate, as we are only focused on how this affects the team’s chances of winning games.
Manageable Schedule
The good news for the Browns is that five of their first eight games are played at home, and their first four games come against teams that missed the playoffs last season. This would allow some wiggle room for Jacoby Brissett, Baker Mayfield or whoever will be playing quarterback for the Browns to hold down the fort until the bye week.
The second half of the schedule includes road games at Miami, Buffalo, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, and a home game against Tampa Bay. The Browns strength of schedule overall is ranked right about average in level of difficulty, calculated by using the win/loss records of opponents from last season.
Top Ranked Offensive Line
Whoever starts at quarterback in Week 1 will be playing behind the #2 ranked offensive line according to Pro Football Focus. Last season, tackles Jedrick Wills Jr. and Jack Conklin each battled injuries, but if this line can stay healthy they will be one of the top units in the league.
Last year Nick Chubb ran for 1,259 yards and eight TDs, averaging 5.5 yards per carry for the second consecutive season. An elite running back and a strong offensive line will make life easier for any potential starting quarterback, so the Browns offense should be in good shape no matter who the starter is.
Fearsome Pass Rush
Cleveland used three of its first four draft picks to shore up the defense, and with the talent they already have in place none of those players will be asked to start. Few teams can instill fear in opposing quarterbacks like this Cleveland squad that boasts a pair of #1 overall picks. Myles Garrett had a career high 16 sacks last season, and Jadeveon Clowney was just one sack short of a career high despite missing three games.
Projected record: 10-7 overall
