Colts vs. Jets Betting Preview 12/05/16 – Monday Night Football
Betting Preview
After alternating wins and losses for six straight weeks, the Colts had their first two game winning streak snapped last week as quarterback Andrew Luck was sidelined with a concussion and their offense was shut down in a 28-7 loss.
The Colts are in a tight division race as just one game separates three teams and chances are if they don’t win the division they probably won’t make it as a wild card. They have a decent quarterback in Luck and a capable offense that scores 25 points a game but their defense is another story.
They are ranked 29th in total defense and 28th in points allowed as the give up over 27 points a game. In five of their six losses they gave up at least 28 points in the game.
The Jets are dead last in their division and are thinking about next year. They have a middle of the road defense that sometimes plays well but their biggest problems have been on offense and the quarterback. The Jets are ranked 28th in points scored (17.8 points a game) and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns with 13 picks and just 10 touchdown passes.
The oddsmakers opened this game at pick’em but the line has moved to the Colts as a 1.5 point favorite as Andrew Luck is expected to play while the total has held at 49.5. According to Covers.com Consensus Analysis 59% of the public like the Colts chances with Luck’s return and are behind Indianapolis while 57% believe the total is too high and are backing the under.
The total has gone under in five of the last seven meetings between these teams with the Jets winning four of the last five games.
