The Houston Cougars only lost one game last season, falling 20-17 at Connecticut. They will have a chance to avenge that loss here at home on Thursday night, and the bookmakers have Houston listed as a four-touchdown favorite. Bettors are lining up at the window to back Houston, according to Covers.com Consensus Analysis, 76 percent of bettors are playing the favorite. The Cougars are coming off a blowout win over minnows Texas State last week, holding the Bobcats to just 142 yards of total offense. Cougars quarterback Greg Ward Jr. threw for 289 yards and a pair of TDs on 20-of-26 passing. He also ran for 39 yards and a TD. An ankle injury limited him to just four pass attempts in last year’s meeting. The Huskies allowed Syracuse to score a pair of quick TDs last week, and were unable to recover. After Eric Dungey hit Amba Etta-Tawo twice on long passes, and the Orange led 14-0 just four minutes into the game. UCONN controlled play for the remainder of the game, but came up short losing 31-24. It won’t get any easier in Houston, as UCONN is 6-20-1 ATS in it’s last 27 road games.
