Cowboys vs. Giants Betting Preview 12/11/16 – Sunday Night Football
Sunday Night Football Betting Preview
The Cowboys with the best record in the NFL look to avenge their only loss this year which came in the first game against the Giants. They have won 11 straight games since with offense and defense.
Two rookies are responsible for their success. Quarterback Dak Prescott in his first season has led an offense that is second in the league in rushing and he himself has thrown for over 2900 yards and 19 touchdowns. The other rookie is running back Ezekiel Elliot who leads the league with 1285 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Their defense is second in the league stopping the run while being ranked 5th in points allowed giving up 19 a game. They haven’t done as well against the pass which has resulted in them giving up the most points in a game this year in two of their last four games.
The Giants had their six game winning streak broken last week in a loss to Pittsburgh 24-14. Critics will say the Giants had four of those wins at home and three of them against teams with a combined 7-29 record. Still quarterback Eli Manning has thrown for over 3000 yards and 22 touchdowns while their defense is ranked eighth in points allowed giving up just under 20 a game.
The oddsmakers have made the Cowboys a three point favorite and set the total at 47.5. According to Covers.com Consensus Analysis 66 % of the public are behind the Cowboys despite the Giant’s 5-1 home record while 60% believe the total will go over.
Four of the last six games they have played ended by three points or less.
