The D’Backs beat the Cubs by a score of 6-2 last night, and I like Arizona in the series finale. Jake Arrieta will toe the slab for the Cubs, and he’s really been on a roll lately. Arrieta (11-8, 3.83 ERA) allowed three runs on nine hits over 6 1/3 innings in a 5-3 win at San Francisco his last time out. He’s 3-1 with a 2.20 ERA in five starts since the All Star break. His only start against Arizona this season was a good one, allowing just one earned run on three hits, striking out eight in seven innings. The D’Backs hand the ball to Zack Godley, who has been having a career year. The right-hander allowed three runs on eight hits, striking out five in 6 2/3 innings in a home win over the Dodgers his last time out. He’s 2-1 with a 3.73 ERA in five starts since the All Star break, and he blanked the Cubs through six innings the only time he faced them this season.
