Eagles vs. Cowboys Betting Preview 10/30/16
Betting Preview
Last week the Eagles flexed their defensive muscles in a 21-10 win over the Vikings to break a two game losing streak. They forced five Viking fumbles (three recovered), sacked quarterback Sam Bradford six times and picked him off in the end zone which was his first interception of the year. They held the Vikings to 93 rushing yards and allowed them just three points through the first three quarters. Perhaps their biggest accomplishment was stopping Minnesota three times inside the 20 yard line and not allowing them to score including a first and goal at the one yard line.
The Cowboys might be playing the best football in the NFL. they have won five straight games and their defense has held the last four opponents to 17 points or less. They are ranked seventh in the league in points allowed (17.2) and ranked 10th against the rush. Their offense leads the league in rushing with over 161 yards a game and rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott is first in the league with 703 yards a game. They average 26.5 points a game which is seventh best in the NFL.
The oddsmakers have made the Cowboys a 4.5 point favorite and have the total sitting at 43.5. According to Covers.com Consensus Analysis the public is almost split with 52% backing the Cowboys but 68% feel the total is too low and are behind the over.
