PREVIEW: The Cougars are sitting sixth in the AP Top 25 rankings after winning their first two games of the 2016 season. This team is heavily favored to win the AAC, and one of the few teams that could possibly stand in their way is Cincinnati. The Bearcats pushed the Cougars to the brink in Houston last year, but came up short losing 33-30. Gunner Kiel threw for a career high 523 yards and four TDs in that game, but he’s since passed the torch to sophomore Hayden Moore. The Cougars didn’t have starting quarterback Greg Ward Jr. last week, and backup Kyle Postma didn’t look all that sharp. Postma threw for 125 yards and an INT on 14-of-25 passing versus lowly Lamar. He did run for over 100 yards and a pair of TDs, but the Cougars will hope to have their starter back for this big divisional game. Houston is favored to win by more than a touchdown, despite the fact that it has failed to cover in each of the last four meetings between the two teams. According to Covers.com Consensus Analysis, 75 percent of bettors are backing Houston.
