New Jersey went 2-10-2 from Feb. 20-March 14 and then won four of five before consecutive losses in Washington last week. It has lost all six meetings with Washington so far this season. The Oilers blew a chance to move up to second in the division and pull within two points of the North Division-leading Maple Leafs, who have lost five of their last six. 02-25-21 | Stars v. Panthers -120 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 5 h 14 m | Show |
This is a play on the FLORIDA PANTHERS for our NHL Central Division Game of the Month. Florida will be out for some immediate revenge following a 3-0 loss last night against Dallas following a win over the Stars on Monday. The Panthers, who are led in points (23) and assists (16) by Jonathan Huberdeau, have gone 0-for-6 on their power play in the current two-game series. The Panthers are 6-0 in their last six games when their opponent allows two goals or less in their previous game. Dallas snapped a big slide as it had gone 0-3-3 over its previous six games. The win last night was just the second for the Stars all season. Here, we play on teams against the money line with a winning percentage between .600 and .700 revenging a home loss of three goals or more. This situation is 72-30 (70.6 percent) over the last five seasons. 10* (4) Florida Panthers
02-24-21 | Rangers v. Flyers -122 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 33 m | Show |
This is a play on the PHILADELHPIA FLYERS for our NHL Wednesday Breakaway. The Flyers fell 3-2 in a shootout to the Rangers last Thursday and then 7-3 to the Boston Bruins on Sunday at NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe in Stateline, Nev. The Flyers have been outshot in 13 of their 15 games yet hold an 8-4-3 record. Three of those losses came against the Bruins in regulation, one in overtime and one in a shootout. After a disappointing 5-2 loss to the Devils on Feb. 16, the Rangers have responded with wins over the Flyers and Capitals. Here, we play on home favorites against the money line with a winning percentage between .501 and .600 in the first half of the season after having lost three of their last four games. This situation is 76-24 ATS (76 percent) over the last five seasons. 10* (64) Philadelphia Flyers
02-23-21 | Oilers v. Canucks +119 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 27 m | Show |
This is a play on the VANCOUVER CANUCKS for our NHL North Game of the Month. Edmonton has won nine of 11 games and has clamped down defensively, having held the Flames to two goals total in a two-game set and having surrendered four goals overall in its past three outings, all victories. Vancouver has dropped two straight, and three of four, with the latest a 4-3 overtime loss at the hands of Winnipeg on Sunday. The Canucks grabbed a 2-0 first-period lead, fell behind 3-2, scored a final-minute goal and then lost in the extra period. The Canucks have been better lately compared to their early-season struggles, with their special teams more effective and scores much closer. Here, we play on home teams against the money line off a loss against a division rival going up against an opponent off a win by four goals or more over a division rival. This situation is 25-9 (73.5 percent) over the last five seasons. 10* (60) Vancouver Canucks
02-22-21 | Lightning -122 v. Hurricanes | Top | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 6 h 15 m | Show |
This is a play on the TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING for our NHL Monday Breakaway. This is a great price with Tampa Bay that is coming off a pair of losses and playing with revenge. The Lightning fell to Florida a week ago and then was shut out by Carolina next time out. Combining a 1-0 overtime shutout of the Lightning on Jan. 28 and the latter portion of another shutout on Saturday, Hurricanes goaltenders have worked an active streak of 155 minutes, 53 seconds of scoreless hockey against Tampa Bay. It was the first time the Lightning have lost consecutive games in regulation this season. Carolina has won two straight and five of its last six to move into first place in the Central Division. Here, we play on road teams when the money line is -100 to -150 revenging a road loss by four goals or more, playing only their 2nd game in five days. This situation is 40-12 (76.9 percent) since 1996. 10* (79) Tampa Bay Lightning
02-20-21 | Wild v. Ducks +120 | Top | 5-1 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 15 m | Show |
This is a play on the ANAHEIM DUCKS for our NHL Saturday Breakaway. This is the second game pf a back-to-back between Minnesota and Anaheim and the Ducks will look to bounce back from the 3-1 loss on Thursday. The rusty and short-handed Wild opened their West Coast road swing Tuesday with an ugly 4-0 loss at Los Angeles, but Thursday night bounced back to win their opener. Minnesota had six games postponed during its pause and with as many as 13 players in the NHL COVID-19 protocol. And despite the win over the Ducks, the Wild know they still have a ways to go to get back on track. The Ducks finished 0-for-3 on the power play and are just 3-for-38 (7.9 percent) overall on the power play this season so that is a priority here. Anaheim is 3-4-2 at home with the defense leading the way but it is averaging just 1.78 gpg on offense at home. The Wild are 1-4 in their last six games following a win while Anaheim is 60-32 in home games revenging two straight losses where opponent scored three or more goals. Here, we play against road teams with a winning percentage between .450 and .550 off a road win against a division rival, in the first half of the season. This situation is 44-17 (72.1 percent) over the last five seasons. 10* (22) Anaheim Ducks
02-19-21 | Oilers v. Flames -111 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -111 | 11 h 26 m | Show |
This is a play on the CALGARY FLAMES for our NHL North Division Game of the Year. Calgary is coming off a 5-1 loss against Vancouver and remains on the outside looking in for the playoffs as it is two points out from the final spot in the North Division. The Flames are 4-3 at home which is nothing great but that creates value and the Flames are 8-2 in their last 10 games as a home favorite. The Oilers, meanwhile, are rolling. They have won seven of their last nine, the latest a 3-2 victory over the Jets on Wednesday. Edmonton is three points ahead of the Flames, albeit with two more games played. The Oilers are 2-7 in their last nine games after allowing two goals or less in their previous game. Here, we play on home teams against the money line after a loss by three goals or more in their previous game going up against an opponent after scoring three goals or more in two straight games. This situation is 199-119 (62.6 percent) over the last five seasons. 10* (70) Calgary Flames
02-18-21 | Predators v. Blue Jackets -123 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 40 m | Show |
This is a play on the COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS for our Thursday Breakaway. Columbus has lost two straight games, the last being a 7-3 loss against Carolina. The Blue Jackets are 4-2-2 at home so they are getting value here. The Predators have lost nine of the 13 games since outscoring the Blue Jackets by an 8-3 margin over two games to start the season. Here, we play on home teams when the money line is -100 to -150 revenging a of three goals or more, off two consecutive losses against division rivals. This situation is 55-22 (71.4 percent) since 1996. 10* (54) Columbus Blue Jackets
02-17-21 | Jets v. Oilers -135 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 3 m | Show |
This is a play on the EDMONTON OILERS for our NHL Wednesday Enforcer. This is the second straight meeting between the Jets and Oilers and Edmonton should bounce back here. They had a three-game winning streak snapped with a loss on Monday as the Jets scored four goals on their first eleven shots, eventually chasing Mike Smith from his crease. The Oilers fought back from a 4-1 deficit to make it 5-5 early in the third, but a giveaway from Dominik Kahun set the table for Blake Wheeler to tip in a shot from the point. Edmonton is just 4-5 at home but that is keeping this number low. Here, we play against road teams against the money line outscoring their opponents by 0.5+ or more gpg, after scoring six goals or more in their previous game. This situation is 80-48 (62.5 percent) over the last five seasons. 10* (46) Edmonton Oilers
02-16-21 | Avalanche v. Golden Knights -106 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -106 | 11 h 15 m | Show |
This is a play on the VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS for our NHL Tuesday Breakaway. This is a rematch from Sunday when Vegas escaped with a 1-0 victory over Colorado. The Avalanche, still missing seven players including forwards Gabe Landeskog and Tyson Jost as well as three of their top six defensemen including Cale Makar (upper body) and Samuel Girard (COVID protocol), were shut out for the first time this season as Marc-Andre Fleury turned away 30 shots. In the past four games, Fleury has stopped 100 of 106 shots (.943 save percentage) with a 1.51 GAA. Vegas has won five of its last six games and stays home where it is 8-1-1 on the season and outscoring opponents by close to a goal and a half. Colorado is 3-3-1 on the road and being shorthanded again away from home is an issue. The Avalanche are 1-4 in their last five games after allowing two goals or less in their previous game while the Golden Knights are 5-0 in their last five games when their opponent scores two goals or less in their previous game. Here, we play on teams against the money with a winning percentage of .700 or better off a home win by one goal, a playing a team with a winning percentage between .501 and .600 in the 1st half of the season. This situation is 36-10 (78.3 percent) since 1996. 10* (38) Vegas Golden Knights
02-15-21 | Ducks v. Sharks +107 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 107 | 9 h 24 m | Show |
This is a play on the SAN JOSE ST. SHARKS for our NHL West Conference Game of the Month. San Jose has been on the road for much of this season but regular times are starting to return. Because of strict COVID regulations in Santa Clara County, it is actually just the second game at SAP Center for San Jose this season, as they have previously been playing in Arizona, where they held their training camp. The Ducks are coming off a 1-0 victory last Thursday in Vegas that was the first loss of the season for goalie Marc-Andre Fleury first loss of the season. The Ducks have not allowed a power-play goal in five straight games, killed 24 of their last 27 penalties (88.9%) dating to Jan. 22 and 34-of-39 overall to begin the season (87.2%), ranking third in the NHL. Here, we play against teams with a winning percentage between .300 and .400 against the money line off a road win against a division rival, playing a team with a losing record. This situation is 94-49 (65.7 percent) since 1996. 10* (22) San Jose Sharks
02-14-21 | Capitals v. Penguins -114 | Top | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 20 h 54 m | Show |
This is a play on the PITTSBURGH PENGUINS for our NHL Sunday Breakaway. Pittsburgh snapped a two-game losing streak with a shootout win over the Islanders on Thursday for just its second win on the road. The Penguins are a perfect 4-0-0 at home and this is their first home game since January 24th. Pittsburgh has had to overcome at least one deficit in each of its six wins. Not ideal, but the comebacks might at least speak to team makeup. Washington has lost three straight games and this is its first game in a week because of three straight postponements related to the same protocol issues that Pittsburgh had over a week ago. The Capitals have had a difficult time holding leads, including blown leads in two of its three games in the losing streak. Here, we play on favorites against the money line after allowing three goals or more in five straight games going up against an opponent after three straight losses by two goals or more. This situation is 32-5 (86.5 percent) since 1996. 10* (2) Pittsburgh Penguins
02-13-21 | Bruins v. Islanders +119 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 119 | 8 h 19 m | Show |
This is a play on the NEW YORK ISLANDERS for our NHL Saturday Breakaway. The Bruins will be completing a seven-game road trip after beating the Rangers 1-0 on Friday for their fifth win in a row. Boston is 10-1-2 this season, with seven wins by one goal. Their five-game winning streak includes four straight one-goal victories and began Feb. 1 with a 5-3 win over the Capitals in which Boston came back from a 3-0 deficit. The win last night could present a letdown. The Islanders squandered a trio of one-goal leads Thursday night, including the last one in the final 30 seconds of regulation in a 4-3 shootout loss to the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins. New York is now 3-0-1 at home and it is allowing just 1.75 gpg on home ice. Here, we play against road teams when the money line is -100 to -150 revenging a road loss versus opponent, off a road win where they shut out their opponent. This situation is 25-9 (73.5 percent) since 1996. 10* (66) New York Islanders
02-12-21 | Bruins v. Rangers +152 | Top | 1-0 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 50 m | Show |
This is a play on the NEW YORK RANGERS for our NHL East Division Blowout of the Month. Boston has won Four straight games and seven of its last eight to over first place in the East Division. While it is 4-0 at home, it is just 5-1-2 on the road even though that does include four straight road wins including an overtime win over the Rangers on Wednesday. The Bruins are averaging just 2.43 gpg on the road while outscoring opponents by less than a quarter goal per game. The Rangers have now lost two straight games to fall to 4-5-3 on the season. They are still just two points out of the final playoff spot in the East Division and they are just -2 in goal differential which is better than the fourth place Islanders and much better than Pittsburgh which is -7. New York is 3-3-2 at home while allowing just 2.63 gpg on home ice. 10* (56) New York Rangers
02-11-21 | Oilers v. Canadiens -147 | Top | 3-0 | Loss | -147 | 9 h 8 m | Show |
This is a play on the MONTREAL CANADIENS for our NHL Thursday Breakaway. Montreal is coming off a 4-2 loss against Toronto last night despite outshooting the Maple Leafs 35-23. The Canadiens still lead the league in goals for per game, but it was once above four goals a game and has since fallen to 3.85 gpg which is still impressive. After limping out to a 3-6-0 start, the Oilers are trending in the right direction, going 5-1-0 in their last six to move a game over .500 for the first time this season but four of those wins were against the 2-11-1 Senators. Montreal is a big step up from Ottawa so this presents a big challenge. Here, we play against road teams with a winning percentage between .450 and .550 coming off a road win against a division rival, in the first half of the season. This situation is 39-13 (75 percent) over the last five seasons. 10* (28) Montreal Canadiens
02-10-21 | Bruins v. Rangers +134 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -100 | 26 h 36 m | Show |
This is a play on the NEW YORK RANGERS for our NHL Wednesday Breakaway. Boston has won three straight games and six of its last seven to move into a tie for first place in the East Division. While it is 4-0 at home, it is just 4-1-2 on the road even though that does include three straight road wins. The Bruins are averaging just 2.43 gpg on the road while outscoring opponents by less than a quarter goal per game. The Rangers are coming off a 2-0 shutout loss against the Islanders at home on Monday to fall to 4-5-2 on the season. They are two points out of the final playoff spot in the East Division and they are just -1 in goal differential which is the same as third place Washington and better than the fourth place Islanders. New York is 3-3-1 at home while allowing just 2.57 gpg on home ice. The Rangers are 10-3 against the money line in their last 13 games off a home loss by two goals or more. 10* (24) New York Rangers
02-09-21 | Lightning v. Predators +123 | Top | 6-1 | Loss | -100 | 45 h 53 m | Show |
This is a play on the NASHVILLE PREDATORS for our NHL Monday Breakaway. Tampa Bay has won four straight games to move to a total of 15 points in the Central Division. The Lightning are 6-0 at home but just 1-1-1 on the road with the lone victory coming in overtime against Columbus. While outshooting opponents by over four shots on the road, Tampa Bat has struggled on offense, averaging just 1.67 gpg as it has not scored more than two goals in regulation in any of those games. This sets up Nashville well as it allows exactly 2.0 gpg at home where it is 4-1 on the season. The Predators have lost three of their last four games but all of those were on the road. The issues has been the penalty kill overall as Nashville has allowed 14 goals in their last 35 attempts which is an awful percentage but that damage has come on the road for the most part and at home, the Predators are 2-14 in the penalty kill at home. This is a two-game revenge spot for Nashville which lost the first two meetings in Tampa Bay. 10* (76) Nashville Predators
02-09-21 | Blackhawks v. Stars -148 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -148 | 17 h 49 m | Show |
This is a play on the DALLAS STARS for our Tuesday NHL Breakaway. This is a solid revenge game for the Stars following an overtime loss to Chicago. After the overtime loss on Sunday, Dallas is 4-1 at home this season while still outscoring opponents by 3.0 gpg and the defense has allowed more than two goals only once and that continued with the 2-1 final two days ago. Overall, the Stars are allowing 2.50 gpg which is third best in the NHL and that includes giving up 1.58 gpg at home which is fourth best in the league. Chicago is coming off two upset wins to move to 5-4-4 on the season. That certainly is not horrible but considering the Blackhawks have won two straight road games says the time has come to an end. They are getting outscored by 2.0 gpg on the highway and going back, the Blackhawks are 5-18 in their last 22 road games. 10* (14) Dallas Stars
02-07-21 | Blackhawks v. Stars -164 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -164 | 21 h 57 m | Show |
This is a play on the DALLAS STARS for our NHL Sunday Breakaway. We played against Dallas on Thursday and won with Columbus in a revenge game for the Blue Jackets which now makes it three losses in four games for the Stars. This is a great bounce back spot however even though the price in a little steeper than hopes. Dallas is 4-0 at home this season while outscoring opponents by 3.25 gpg and the defense has allowed more than two goals only once. Overall, the Stars are allowing 2.50 gpg which is sixth best in the NHL. Chicago is coming off an upset win over Carolina at home to move to 4-4-4 on the season. That certainly is not horrible but considering the Blackhawks have yet to win on the road is a concern, as they are 0-6 with three regulation losses and three in extra time. They are getting outscored by 2.0 gpg on the highway and going back, the Blackhawks are 4-18 in their last 22 road games. 10* (64) Dallas Stars
02-06-21 | Penguins v. Islanders -105 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 27 h 15 m | Show |
This is a play on the NEW YORK ISLANDERS for our NHL Saturday Breakaway. The Islanders have lost five straight games, all coming on the road but they are back home on Saturday before hitting the road to face the Rangers on Monday. They were supposed to play Buffalo Tuesday but the game was postponed due to the winter storm. The good news is that New York picked up two points in the last two games because of overtime losses. The Islanders have lost six-straight road games (0-4-2) since winning on Opening Night but they are 2-0 at home with wins over New Jersey and Boston. The Islanders are 4-0 in their last four home games following a road trip of seven or more days. Pittsburgh is coming off a loss against the Rangers and the Penguins have lost two of three following a four-game winning streak. They are 4-0 at home but just 1-4-1 on the road where they are getting outscored by nearly two goals per game. The Penguins are 1-7 in their last eight road games. 10* (42) New York Islanders
02-05-21 | Bruins v. Flyers +118 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -100 | 25 h 24 m | Show |
This is a play on the PHILADELPHIA FLYERS for our NHL Revenge Game of the Month. Philadelphia is 7-2-2 on the season and its 16 points are good for a tie with Boston for first place in the East Division. The first loss came in the season opener against Buffalo while the other three came against Boston including an overtime loss on Wednesday which brings triple revenge into the mix on Friday. The Flyers are 6-1 in their last six games when their opponent scores five goals or more in their previous game. The Bruins tied the game with 14.9 seconds left and won it 31 seconds into overtime so it was a brutal loss for the Flyers. Boston has the shooting edge over the Flyers but has a big disadvantage on defense with the penalty kill against the Philadelphia power play. Here, we play against teams against the money line off a road win against a division rival, in a game involving two teams with winning percentages between .600 and .700. this situation is 28-11 (71.8 percent) over the last five seasons. 10* (24) Philadelphia Flyers
02-04-21 | Stars v. Blue Jackets +105 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 105 | 19 h 39 m | Show |
This is a play on the COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS for our NHL Central Game of the Year. This is a quick turnaround revenge game for Columbus which lost 6-3 on Tuesday against Dallas and it gets to host the Stars once again on Thursday. It was the second straight loss for the Blue Jackets following a pair of wins and their 11 points are just one point out of first place in the Central Division. The Blue Jackets are 4-0 in their last four games following a loss of three or more goals. Dallas is a perfect 4-0 at home but just 1-2 on the road with that lone win coming on Tuesday. The NHL schedule has been out of sorts for every team and the same can be said for Dallas as those first four games came at home and the Stars have been travelling ever since. Here, we play on home teams when the money line is -100 to -150 revenging a loss of three goals or more, off two consecutive losses against division rivals. This situation is 55-22 (71.4 percent) since 1996. 10* (14) Columbus Blue Jackets
02-03-21 | Bruins v. Flyers +120 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -100 | 26 h 33 m | Show |
This is a play on the PHILADELPHIA FLYERS for our NHL Wednesday Breakaway. Philadelphia is 7-2-1 on the season and its 15 points are good for a tie with Washington for first place in the East Division. The first loss came in the season opener against Buffalo, the Flyers lone loss at home this season, while the other two came against Boston which brings double revenge into the mix on Wednesday. The Flyers are 6-0 in their last six games when their opponent scores five goals or more in their previous game. The Bruins roll into Philadelphia after a thrilling comeback win over the Capitals to make it a split in the two-game set. Boston is a point behind the Flyers and Capitals in the East Division and while the Bruins are a perfect 4-0-0 at home, they are just 2-1-2 on the highway. Boston has the shooting edge over the Flyers but has a big disadvantage on defense with the penalty kill against the Philadelphia power play. Here, we play against teams against the money line off a road win against a division rival, in a game involving two teams with winning percentages between .600 and .700. this situation is 28-10 (73.7 percent) over the last five seasons. 10* (76) Philadelphia Flyers
02-01-21 | Canucks v. Canadiens -158 | Top | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 19 h 2 m | Show |
This is a play on the MONTREAL CANADIENS for our NHL Monday Breakaway. Montreal is the highest scoring offense in the NHL at 4.1 gpg but is coming off a 2-0 shutout loss to Calgary on Saturday. It was the Canadiens first regulation loss of the season as they are now 5-1-1. They are averaging 33.9 spg which is second in the league and that should be a problem for Vancouver which allows 35.9 spg, No. 31 in the NHL. The Canucks have won four straight games as the defense has been outstanding, allowing just one goal in all four of those games. But in the first three games against Montreal, Vancouver has allowed 37 spg and 5.7 gpg. Montreal is 15-4 against the money line in its last 19 games off a home loss by two goals or more. The Canucks are 2-5 in their last seven games as an underdog. Here, we play against road teams against the money line after two straight wins by three goals or more against opponent after scoring one goal or less in their previous game. This situation is 32-8 (80 percent) over the last five seasons. 10* (42) Montreal Canadiens
09-28-20 | Lightning -158 v. Stars | Top | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 32 h 24 m | Show |
This is a play on the TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING for our NHL Monday Breakaway. We won with Dallas on Saturday banking on the fact it would clean up the penalties and it did just that. The Lightning had scored on six of their previous 12 power-play chances in the series. After penalties short-circuited them in their previous three losses, the Stars took just one Saturday, and they killed it. The double-overtime win cut the Tampa Bay series lead to 3-2 but we expect Tampa Bay to come out firing after scoring just two goals on 41 shots in Game Five. The Lightning have continually showed their resilience, and if they do it again, they will win the Stanley Cup for the first time since 2004 and for only the second time in franchise history. Tampa Bay has yet to lose consecutive games this postseason, bouncing back from each of its six losses with a win. The Lightning are 20-3 in their last 23 games when playing their 8th game in 14 days while going 45-8 in their last 53 games after scoring two goals or less in their previous game. Here, we play on teams in the second half of the season that have 30 or more shots in five straight games and with a starting goalie with a save percentage of .915 or better. This situation is 198-119 (62.5 percent) since 1996. 10* (1) Tampa Bay Lightning
09-26-20 | Stars +148 v. Lightning | Top | 3-2 | Win | 148 | 9 h 19 m | Show |
This is a play on the DALLAS STARS for our NHL Saturday Breakaway. It was a brutal loss for us and the Dallas Stars on Friday night as a controversial tripping call in overtime led to the game winning power play goal for Tampa Bay. This series could very well be tied right now but the Stars now have to win three straight games and they will use that horrible call from last night as motivation. The Lightning used the man advantage to their benefit in Game Four, tying the game twice and eventually winning it on that power play goal. This has been a problem for Dallas over the last three games as it has allowed six power play goals in 12 penalty kill attempts. While the Stars played some wild series earlier in the postseason, they eliminated the Golden Knights and won the West on the strength of their defense and goaltending, allowing three goals against just once in five games. The blame cannot be put on goalie Anton Khudobin as he has been put in some tough situations. And it is possible Ben Bishop gets the start in this back-to-back as he was seen on the ice during the morning skate. Tampa Bay is 6-16 after playing two straight games where seven or more total goals were scored this season while the Stars are 16-7 in their last 23 games after allowing five goals or more in their previous game. 10* (29) Dallas Stars
09-25-20 | Lightning v. Stars +141 | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 18 m | Show |
This is a play on the DALLAS STARS for our NHL Friday Breakaway. The Stars trail 2-1 in this series following a 5-2 loss on Wednesday and their 1-0 series lead has vanished into what is now a must win situation. Dallas has found itself in trouble all too often, lacking discipline, and it paid the price in each of the last two games. On the flip side, the Stars have been as good as the Lightning during most of the five-on-five play, but miscues and penalties have derailed their hopes. The first and third Tampa goals were scored following Dallas turnovers. The fourth was scored on perhaps the most hapless line change of the series. Dallas goalie Anton Khudobin coughed up five goals on 29 shots, and all of the big guns scored for the Lightning, including C Steven Stamkos, who made his playoff debut, albeit briefly. Tighten up and the Stars are back in the series and it has to be this game. Dallas is 16-7 ATS revenging a loss of two goals or more this season. 10* (28) Dallas Stars
09-23-20 | Lightning -150 v. Stars | Top | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 12 h 58 m | Show |
This is a play on the TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING for our NHL Wednesday Breakaway. Tampa Bay avoided a 2-0 hole in this series as it won on Monday 3-2, jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first period before hanging on. Tampa Bay recorded its sixth straight game of outshooting its opponent and its fifth straight game of allowing fewer than 30 shots. The Lightning are just 3-3 over this stretch as the power play was a letdown, going 0-14 during a four-game stretch prior to converting two of four opportunities on Monday. While the goalies are most important during the postseason, and rightfully so, the Lightning have the best player on the ice in Nikita Kucherov. He set the franchise record for most points in a single postseason (28), and in Game Two, the Lightning had a ridiculous 1.26-to-0.02 expected goals ratio with Kucherov on the ice, according to Natural Stat Trick. Here, we play on teams against the money line in the second half of the season with a goalie with a save percentage of 91.5 percent or better and the offense having five straight games with 30 or more shots on goal. This situation is 196-118 (62.4 percent) since 1996. 10* (25) Tampa Bay Lightning
09-21-20 | Stars v. Lightning -149 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 17 m | Show |
This is a play on the TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING for our NHL Monday Breakaway. We won with Dallas on Saturday and we are banking on Tampa Bay to bounce back tonight. The Lightning have not lost consecutive games in the postseason as they are a perfect 4-0 following a loss and a perfect 5-0 in the bubble after the defeat. The Lightning lost despite outshooting the Stars 36-19 and they have now outshot the opposition in five straight games. For two periods, the Lightning looked like a team coming off nine periods of hockey in two games against the Islanders and it certainly looked like a letdown before coming out strong in the last period. The Lightning showed what they are capable of in the final 20 minutes according to Natural Stat Trick as Tampa Bay had a 43-3 edge in shot attempts in the third period. Tampa Bay is 13-2 after a loss by two goals or more in their previous game this season. Here, we play on teams in the second half of the season with a winning percentage between .600 and .700 revenging a home loss of three goals or more. This situation is 43-13 (76.8 percent) over the last 5 seasons. 10* (24) Tampa Bay Lightning
09-19-20 | Stars +135 v. Lightning | Top | 4-1 | Win | 135 | 27 h 25 m | Show |
This is a play on the DALLAS STARS for our NHL Saturday Power Play. Tampa Bay came through for us on Thursday to take the Eastern Conference but now on a short turnaround, we feel they are at a disadvantage based on rest and prep. In the playoffs, the Lightning scoring average has dropped to 3.11 gpg, while the Stars have surged to 2.95 gpg. In the man advantage, the Stars have had the best power play in the NHL this post season, 18 goals with a 27.3 percent conversion rate. While the Lightning have had just 10 power play goals with a 17.9 percent conversion rate. In the Western Conference finals against Vegas, the Stars reverted back to their old defensively suffocating ways, limiting the Knights to eight goals in five games. Dallas was able to take both regular season meetings this season, so the Stars match up well. Dallas is 12-1 against the money line in its last 13 games when playing with three or more days rest. 10* (21) Dallas Stars
09-17-20 | Lightning -150 v. Islanders | Top | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 32 h 37 m | Show |
This is a play on the TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING for our NHL Thursday Breakaway. The Islanders staved off elimination with a 2-1 double overtime win over Tampa Bay on Tuesday to cut the series deficit to 3-2. Though New York played a structured game, it did not generate much offense as the Islanders had just 24 shots in nearly 90 minutes. The New York offense has fizzled in managing just 11 goals against Tampa Bay, including a 5-3 win in Game Three. The Islanders had combined for 28 goals in their previous eight games. If the Lightning feel pressure, they are not letting on that this is the case. Lightning coach Jon Cooper liked the way his team played and thinks they will be just fine if they keep playing that way. Tampa Bay is 20-3 against the money line after scoring one goal or less in their previous game while the Islanders are 1-4 in their last five games following a win. 10* (11) Tampa Bay Lightning
09-14-20 | Stars v. Golden Knights -168 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -168 | 12 h 42 m | Show |
This is a play on the VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS for our NHL Monday Breakaway. We lost with Vegas on Saturday and now it is really crunch time. The Stars stole Game Four of the Western Conference final, and Anton Khudobin was the reason. During the Stars 2-1 win over Vegas, he was the team's best player, making 32 saves in backstopping Dallas to a 3-1 series lead. He has played better against Vegas than he has in any round of the playoffs, with a .952 save percentage through four games. While the defense has been great, the offense has not. In the first 13 games of the playoffs, they averaged 33.5 shots, but against Vegas, they are averaging just 23 shots, collapsing around their own goal. Here, we play against teams against the money line after 2 or more consecutive unders against opponent after 6 or more consecutive unders. This situation is 35-16 (68.6 percent) over the last 5 seasons. 10* (6) Vegas Golden Knights
09-12-20 | Golden Knights -157 v. Stars | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -157 | 29 h 9 m | Show |
This is a play on the VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS for our NHL Saturday Breakaway. Dallas took a 2-1 series lead with a 3-2 overtime victory on Thursday and now it is up to Vegas to respond. The Golden Knights were the third best team in the Western Conference prior to the shutdown and also third in scoring differential and still can have the upper hand in this series as they continue to shut down the top players. The Stars top line combined for 8 points in Game One of its previous series against Colorado but has been conspicuously quiet of late. Tyler Seguin has no points in the last six games and Captain Jamie Benn scored his first goal in four games Thursday night. Dallas, whose offense had flourished prior to this, stopped a 157:07 scoring drought with a goal in the second period. The Golden Knights are 11-2 in their last 13 games after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game while the Stars are 2-8 in their last 10 games after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. 10* (1) Vegas Golden Knights
09-11-20 | Lightning v. Islanders +140 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 140 | 25 h 19 m | Show |
This is a play on the NEW YORK ISLANDERS for our NHL Friday Power Play. The Islanders lost a brutal Game Two with just 8.8 seconds left and now it is time to step up and get back in this series. The Islanders had plenty of chances to win the game, but their power play went 0-for-4, including failing on a five-minute major and a 38-second, five-on-three in the third period. On the other side, after having surrendered three power play goals in Game One, they killed all three power plays the Lightning had in Game Two. Tampa Bay will be short-handed on Friday as forward Alex Killorn was suspended f for boarding and the Lightning, who have been dressing only 11 forwards and seven defensemen, could be down a big one as leading scorer Brayden Point was injured during the second period and did not return. The Islanders are 25-8 against the money line in their last 33 games after scoring 2 goals or less in 2 straight games. 10* (42) New York Islanders
09-10-20 | Golden Knights v. Stars +150 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 150 | 26 h 49 m | Show |
This is a play on the DALLAS STARS for our NHL Thursday Breakaway. Vegas came through for us on Tuesday as the Dallas offense was shut down for a second straight game as it has managed just one goal over the two games. The offense has been potent throughout the postseason before this and we expect a much better performance in a pivotal Game Three. The Dallas defense has been solid, and Vegas continues to struggle in the man advantage. The Knights had been 1-for-14 on the power play in the previous four games and they finished Game Two just 1-for-6 with the man advantage. That is something Dallas needs to continue to do. The Stars are 15-7 against the money line revenging a loss of two goals or more this season. Here, we play against teams against the money line outscoring their opponents by 0.3+ gpg in the 2nd half of the season, after allowing 1 goal or less in 2 straight games. This situation is 394-384 (50.6 percent) since 1996. While it is just a 50 percent situation, it is underdog based and has netted over 122 units. 10* (40) Dallas Stars
09-09-20 | Islanders +150 v. Lightning | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 9 m | Show |
This is a play on the NEW YORK ISLANDERS for our NHL Wednesday Power Play. The Islanders look to bounce back from an 8-2 beatdown they took on Monday and we feel they will do just that while using that for motivation. Even though New York won two of the three regular-season meetings between the clubs, they saw a Lightning team that has lately been on a new level, using its up-tempo play and skill to dominate games. With the exception of Monday, the Islanders defense has been exceptional as they had allowed three goals or less in nine of the previous 12 playoff games. While they did allow eight goals, according to ESPN, the analytics said the game was closer than that at 5-on-5, and they do indicate the Islanders actually had the advantage in possession and scoring attempts in the first and third period. Here, we play on teams against the money line after allowing 6 goals or more against opponent after a blowout win by 4 goals or more. This situation is 55-27 (67.1 percent) over the last 5 seasons. 10* (37) New York Islanders
09-08-20 | Stars v. Golden Knights -158 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 12 h 15 m | Show |
This is a play on the VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS for our NHL Tuesday Power Play. Vegas is coming off a 1-0 loss in Game One of this series on Sunday, but we expect them to bounce back tonight and even it up. They were not very physical and looked pretty lethargic, but they do get a boost for this one, as Ryan Reaves returns after a one-game suspension for a high hit in the Vancouver series. The goalie situation for Vegas is extraordinarily strong as both Robin Lehner and Marc-Andre Fleury, who got the surprise start in Game One and turned away 24 shots, have proven they are capable. Here, we play on teams against the money line averaging 3.0 or more gpg on the season, after a low scoring game where both teams scored one goal or less. This situation is 49-23 (68.1 percent) over the last five seasons. 10* (36) Vegas Golden Knights
09-06-20 | Stars v. Golden Knights -162 | Top | 1-0 | Loss | -162 | 11 h 27 m | Show |
This is a play on the VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS for our NHL Sunday Power Play. Both Vegas and Dallas were taken to seven games before eventually closing out their respective series on Friday. The Stars were able to open up their offense in the postseason but that came against some poor defensive teams. They were one of the best defensive teams in the league in the regular season but struggled to score and we see that happening here against a tough Vegas defense that allowed just 14 shots in its Game Seven win against Vancouver. The Golden Knights overwhelmed the Blackhawks and Canucks with puck possession, out attempting those two teams 719-458 in a combined 12 games at 5-on-5. The Golden Knights are 20-7 in their last 27 games against teams with a winning record. Here, we play against underdogs against the money line revenging a road loss versus opponent, off a win by 1 goal over a division rival. This situation is 67-16 (80.7 percent) over the last 5 seasons. 10* (32) Vegas Golden Knights
09-05-20 | Islanders -121 v. Flyers | Top | 4-0 | Win | 100 | 29 h 46 m | Show |
This is a play on the NEW YORK ISLANDERS for our NHL Saturday Power Play. Philadelphia once against staved off elimination with a second straight overtime win to even the series at three games apiece. There was a lot for the Islanders to like about how they played Thursday as they outshot the Flyers 53-31 and after trailing 2-0 battled back to take leads of 3-2 and 4-3. Certainly, history is not on the side of the Flyers as teams with a 3-1 lead are 285-29 (90.8 percent) winning a best-of-7 Stanley Cup Playoff series, including 7-0 in the first two rounds this season. Momentum may have shifted with the two wins, but the Islanders have the matchup edge and they have won their three games by a combined 10-3 while the Flyers have escaped with three overtime wins by a combined 13-10 score. Here, we play against teams against the money line against division opponents, after scoring four goals or more in a win over a division rival. This situation is 57-33 (63.3 percent) over the last five seasons. 10* (5) New York Islanders
09-04-20 | Stars +113 v. Avalanche | Top | 5-4 | Win | 113 | 6 h 48 m | Show |
This is a play on the DALLAS STARS for our NHL Friday Breakaway. Colorado kept the series alive with a win on Wednesday after falling behind 3-1 in the series. The Avalanche went into the series as favorites, but the pressure appears to be on the Stars, having failed twice to close out a series in big part because the top line of Jamie Benn, Alexander Radulov and Tyler Seguin have managed just one point in the past two defeats. Colorado goaltender Michael Hutchinson stopped 27-of-28 shots to become the seventh goaltender in NHL history to earn his first two career postseason wins in elimination games. The Stars have killed off 89.3 percent of their penalties in this series, the second-best kill rate in Round Two behind only the Islanders. Here, we play against teams against the money line after scoring 4 goals or more in a win over a division rival going up against an opponent off a loss by 2 goals or more to a division rival. This situation is 25-10 (71.4 percent) over the last five seasons. 10* (3) Dallas Stars
09-03-20 | Flyers +102 v. Islanders | Top | 5-4 | Win | 102 | 26 h 0 m | Show |
This is a play on the PHILADELPHIA FLYERS for our NHL Thursday Power Play. The Flyers staved off elimination with a Game Five overtime win and now trail the Islanders 3-2 in the best-of-seven series so it is still must win time. It was obviously a big win for Philadelphia but more importantly they have some momentum from two of their stars. The Flyers saw a big positive from forwards in Claude Giroux and James van Riemsdyk as they both netted their first goals of the playoffs. That is huge going forward for the confidence of the whole team. Teams with a 3-1 series lead have won nearly 91 percent of best-of-seven Stanley Cup playoff series all-time but with that in mind, the Islanders are looking to reach the conference final for the first time since 1993. Philadelphia is 24-12 against the money line after scoring four goals or more in their previous game this season while the Islanders are 2-5 in their last 7 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 situation. 10* (25) Philadelphia Flyers
09-02-20 | Avalanche v. Stars +113 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -100 | 33 h 2 m | Show |
This is a play on the DALLAS STARS for our NHL Wednesday Breakaway. Colorado was able to stay alive with a 6-3 win on Monday to cut the series deficit to 3-2. The Dallas offense was not as sharp as it had been in the beginning of the series, but it was the defense that let the Stars down. Stars goalie Ben Bishop, who had not played since August 13th, allowed four goals in the first period before he was pulled in favor of Anton Khudobin. Despite the short turnaround, the decision to go with a goalie who had not played in weeks over a guy who was good enough to consistently win, and one win away from the reaching the conference finals was a bit perplexing and we expect to see Khudobin between the pipes on Wednesday. Here, we play on teams against the money line after a loss by 2 goals or more in their previous game against opponent after scoring 6 goals or more in their previous game. This situation is 156-122 (56.1 percent) over the last five seasons. 10* (20) Dallas Stars
09-01-20 | Islanders v. Flyers +105 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 105 | 28 h 15 m | Show |
This is a play on the PHILADELPHIA FLYERS for our NHL Tuesday Power Play. The Islanders have won the last two games of this series to take a 3-1 lead and put the Flyers backs up against the wall. The Flyers have scored a combined three goals in their three losses in the series. This is the first time Philadelphia has lost back-to-back games since early January and going back to then, it is now 10-1 following a loss. The Flyers were outplayed by the Islanders in most of the series first three games, frustrated by the Islanders speed and their energetic forecheck but they played a better game on Sunday despite the result. The problem has been late as in the first four games of the series, the Islanders have outscored the Flyers, 8-1, in the third period. Philadelphia is 11-3 against the money line after having lost 4 or 5 of their last 6 games this entire season while the Islanders are 2-5 in their last seven games in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 situation. 10* (16) Philadelphia Flyers
08-31-20 | Stars v. Avalanche -133 | Top | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 11 h 13 m | Show |
This is a play on the COLORADO AVALANCHE for our NHL Monday Breakaway. Dallas won the first two games of this series before Colorado cut into the series lead but the Stars took Game Four on Sunday to take a commanding 3-1 lead. Dallas scored five or more goals just five times in the regular season but now they have now done it five times in their past seven games. It was a dominating effort from the start for the Stars as they scored three goals in the first 10 minutes. While the Avalanche did not get a shot until the final two minutes of the first period. The Avalanche are 9-3 in their last 12 after allowing 5 goals or more in their previous game. Here, we play against any team against the money line after scoring 4 goals or more in 4 straight games going up against an opponent after playing 2 straight games where 7 or more total goals were scored. This situation is 57-39 (59.4 percent) since 1996. 10* (14) Colorado Avalanche |
