11-13-22 | Montreal +3.5 v. Toronto | Top | 27-34 | Loss | -110 | 100 h 60 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Montreal. The Argos finished first in the East, but Montreal was the hottest team in the CFL in the second half of the season. Trevor Harris finished third in the CFL in passing, and he completed 80 percent of his passes in a win over Hamilton in the East Semi Final. William Stanback missed the majority of the regular season, but the leading rusher in the CFL in 2021 is healthy for the playoffs. He ran for 66 yards on 10 carries in the win over the Tiger Cats. Montreal has won six of the last 10 meetings between these teams, and the four games they lost were decided by an average margin of fewer than three points. GL, Jesse Schule
11-06-22 | Hamilton v. Montreal -125 | Top | 17-28 | Win | 100 | 48 h 40 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on MTL. The Allouettes are the hottest team in the CFL heading into the Eastern Conference Semi Final, and they host Hamilton. The Ticats have failed to cover in four of their last five versus Eastern Conference teams. The home team has won four straight head to head meetings. William Stanback has recently returned to the lineup, and he should play a big role here versus Hamilton. GL, Jesse Schule
10-15-22 | Winnipeg v. BC -170 | 32-40 | Win | 100 | 21 h 51 m | Show
This is a 2* play on BC. This is a simple handicap on this game. Winnipeg has already clinched first place, and the Bombers are resting as many players as they can this week. In fact they would like to rest even more: "“You're hampered by a (salary) cap and by the number of bodies you have available to you, so you can't switch everybody out," Mike Oshea said. "And there's probably some guys playing that you may have liked to rest or they may have wanted to rest." The Lions on the other hand still have plenty to play for here at home. GL, Jesse Schule.
09-17-22 | BC v. Calgary OVER 52.5 | 31-29 | Win | 100 | 18 h 44 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Over. The Lions offense has stalled since the injury to Nathan Rourke, but they brought in veteran QB Vernon Adams (former Oregon Duck) a few weeks back. He only saw a few snaps in a loss to Montreal last week. He's now had plenty of time to get familiar with the offense and he is expected to start here in Calgary. We could have a shootout on our hands, as Calgary scored 56 points in a win over Edmonton last week. Both teams are banged up in the secondary and along the defensive line, and that could open things up for both QBs. The last time these teams played it was BC winning by a score of 41-40. Prior to that it was Calgary winning 33-23. I expect another high score here on Saturday. GL, Jesse Schule
09-16-22 | Edmonton Elks v. Saskatchewan UNDER 50.5 | 26-24 | Win | 100 | 16 h 8 m | Show
This is a 2* play on Under. The total for this game stands out to me, and I am convinced that this number is inflated because both these teams gave up 50+ points last week. The total was listed well below 50 in each of the last six head to head meetings between these teams. The Riders are averaging just 23 points per game this season, while Edmonton has averaged just over 20 points per game. Prior to last week, the Riders defense had been solid allowing just over 24 points per game. The Elks do rank dead last in the CFL in scoring defense, but they face a Riders offense that has been hit hard by injuries. These teams have failed to reach the total in four of the last five in Regina. GL, Jesse Schule
09-09-22 | BC -170 v. Montreal | 10-31 | Loss | -170 | 26 h 21 m | Show
This is a 4* play on the BC Lions. The Lions lead the CFL in scoring despite playing only 10 games (most teams have played 12). They lost their first game since the injury to Nathan Rourke (leads the CFL in passing), but they have had plenty of time to regroup coming off a bye week. They picked up former Oregon Ducks QB Vernon Adams Jr. in a trade with Montreal, and he could face his former team here on Friday night. The Lions have owned this Als team, winning nine of the last 10 meetings. BC is still undefeated in road games this season. The Alouettes are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 home games. This is a great spot to back BC. GL, Jesse Schule
09-05-22 | Toronto v. Hamilton | 28-8 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 16 m | Show
This is a 2* play on Hamilton. While the Ticats turn to a rookie QB, this is a good spot for the home team. A revenge game in the Labor Day Classic, versus their biggest rival. The Argos have lost four of their last five at Hamilton, and it's widely considered the toughest place to play in the CFL. This team is particularly tough to beat at this time of year, the Tiger-Cats are 7-0-2 ATS in their last nine games in September. Hamilton owns the CFL's top ranked run defense, and they are good at getting to the QB with 25 sacks in 11 games so far in 2022. The Argonauts are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 meetings in Hamilton. History favors the home team. GL, Jesse Schule
08-26-22 | Saskatchewan v. BC -175 | 23-16 | Loss | -175 | 20 h 51 m | Show
This is a 3* play on the BC Lions. So Nathan Rourke is sidelined with an injury, and the Lions quarterback leads the CFL in passing yards as well as TDs. So how will the Lions fare without him? I personally think they will do just fine. In fact I think Michael O'Connor is stepping into an ideal situation. It wouldn't surprise me at all if this moment is remembered similar to Cardale Jones stepping in for JT Barrett at Ohio State and winning a National Championship. Or Kurt Warner stepping in at quarterback for the Rams and winning a Super Bowl. The Lions are stacked with talent, studs on the offensive line, a talented receiving corpse and a dynamic running back in James Butler. Last year O'Connor beat out Dakota Prukop for a roster spot in Calgary, and he had a solid training camp with the Lions this summer. Meanwhile they face a Saskatchewan team that benched their starting QB in a 28-10 home loss to BC last week. Cody Fajardo has been playing with a knee injury, and his ineffective play can likely be blamed on his injury. The Lions don't have to reinvent the wheel here, and they should be able to beat a banged up Saskatchewan team at home Friday. GL, Jesse Schule
08-20-22 | Calgary -130 v. Toronto | 22-19 | Win | 100 | 18 h 5 m | Show
This is a 2* play on Calgary. The Stamps are coming off a 41-40 shootout loss to the mighty BC Lions. They are on the road in Toronto Saturday night, and it's unlikely that the Argos can keep up with that kind of offense. Toronto quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson has been inconsistent, and losing leading rusher Andrew Harris will put more pressure on him. The Stampeders are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 meetings, and they have won eight of the last 10 outright. They are 15-0 ATS in their last 15 games in Week 11, and they are 7-1 ATS in their last eight coming off a loss. GL, Jesse Schule
08-13-22 | Saskatchewan -5 v. Edmonton Elks | 34-23 | Win | 100 | 19 h 47 m | Show
This is a 2* play on Sask. The Riders are coming off a bye week, which should benefit banged up starting quarterback Cody Fajardo. They are on the road in Edmonton, and the Elks are coming off a 46-14 loss to B.C. last weekend. While Edmonton doesn't have the league's worst record, they have scored the fewest points of any team in the CFL this season. They have also allowed a CFL worst 290 points in eight games. The Roughriders are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games in August, and they have covered in five of their last seven at Edmonton. The Elks are 0-10 straight up in their last 10 home games. GL, Jesse Schule
08-06-22 | Hamilton +2 v. Toronto | 20-34 | Loss | -110 | 43 h 13 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Hamilton. The Argos are coming off a home loss to the worst team in the CFL. They will host a scrappy Hamilton Tigercats team that is coming off a home win over Montreal. The Ticats are just 2-5, but keep in mind they have played a tough schedule facing five Western Division teams in their first six games. Dane Evans ranks 3rd in the CFL in passing, and while his TD/INT ratio appears concerning, he's thrown three TD passes and no INTs in two games against East Division opponents. The Tiger-Cats are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six meetings in Toronto, and they are 18-7-2 ATS in their last 27 meetings. The Argonauts are 1-5 ATS in their last six versus East Division teams. GL, Jesse Schule
08-05-22 | Calgary -4.5 v. Ottawa | 17-3 | Win | 100 | 8 h 42 m | Show
This is a 2* play on Calgary. The Ottawa Redblacks are 1-6 overall, and 0-3 at home this season. They are coming off their first win of the season on the road at Toronto, but I don't like their chances of making it two in a row. The Stampeders are the second best team in the CFL, coming off a loss to defending champions Winnipeg. The Stampeders are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a ATS loss, and they are 7-1 straight up in the last eight head to head meetings. GL, Jesse Schule
07-31-22 | Ottawa v. Toronto -4.5 | 23-13 | Loss | -100 | 14 h 25 m | Show
This is a 4* play on Toronto. The Argos are in first place in the East, the only team with a winning record. They are coming off back to back wins over Saskatchewan, and this week they host the last place Ottawa Redblacks. Ottawa has lost all six of their games, and their starting quarterback is out until late September. The RedBlacks are 8-22 ATS in their last 30 games overall, and they are 0-4 ATS in their last four at Toronto. I like the Argos to win big at home here. GL, Jesse Schule
07-29-22 | BC -125 v. Saskatchewan | Top | 32-17 | Win | 100 | 93 h 4 m | Show |
This is a 5* play on BC. The Riders are coming off a home loss to Toronto on Sunday, in a game that was rescheduled due to a Covid outbreak. They still have some injury concerns, and playing the BC Lions on a short week isn't ideal. Their biggest problem is that quarterback Cody Fajardo has been playing on one leg. The Lions are 4-1, and they boast the CFL's #1 ranked offense. The Lions are well rested coming off a home win over Hamilton last Thursday. Saskatchewan comes into this game with 36 players on the injury report. Many of those players are probable, but there is no question that the Riders are going to be short-handed. GL, Jesse Schule
07-22-22 | Winnipeg -7 v. Edmonton Elks | 24-10 | Win | 100 | 81 h 3 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The two time defending champions are still undefeated, and they play on the road at Edmonton this week. The Elks picked up a win on the road at Montreal last week, but they trailed by 19 points in the 3rd quarter of that game. Edmonton has allowed a CFL worst 220 points, more than double what Winnipeg has allowed in the same number of games. The Elks have lost nine straight home games, and they are 3-12 ATS in their last 15 home games. GL, Jesse Schule
07-21-22 | Hamilton v. BC -7.5 | Top | 12-17 | Loss | -110 | 58 h 31 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the B.C. Lions. Hamilton is coming off it's first win of the season at home over Ottawa, but now they play on short rest on the other side of the country in Vancouver. The Lions own the league's highest scoring offense, averaging 40 points per game. Nathan Rourke has completed 80 percent of his passes this season, with 12 TDs and 4 INTs in four starts. Coming off a bye week, we should expect BC to be at it's best. The Tiger-Cats are 0-6 ATS in their last six games overall, and they are 2-9-1 ATS in their last 12 games in July. The Lions are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games following a bye week. Hamilton has failed to cover in five of their last six visits to Vancouver. GL, Jesse Schule
07-16-22 | Saskatchewan v. Toronto +3 | 24-30 | Win | 100 | 83 h 27 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Argos. The Riders are tied for second in the CFL with a 5-1 record, and they will be a road favorite (at a neutral site in NS) at Toronto this week. The Argos have played two fewer games, and they are coming off a bye. That should be an advantage here against a Riders team that lost by 24 at Montreal a few weeks ago. Strength of schedule favors the home team, who lost by a single point at home to defending champs Winnipeg in their last game. Their other loss came on the road against the Lions in Vancouver. The Riders have won three of their last four at Toronto, but only one of those wins came by more than three points. GL, Jesse Schule
07-15-22 | Calgary v. Winnipeg -185 | 19-26 | Win | 100 | 66 h 57 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Bombers. The top two teams in the CFL meet tonight in Winnipeg, and only one team will come away with their perfect record intact. The Bombers are defending champs two years running, and they have won 11 straight home games dating back to the beginning of last season. The Stampeders come in looking like contenders, but strength of schedule warns they may be pretenders. With wins over Montreal, Hamilton and Edmonton, their opponents have a combined record of 2-12. The Bombers defense ranks #1 in the CFL, and that could be the difference here. GL, Jesse Schule
07-14-22 | Edmonton Elks v. Montreal -7.5 | 32-31 | Loss | -110 | 43 h 51 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Montreal. The Edmonton Elks are coming off a 49-6 home loss to Calgary, falling to 1-4 on the season. Edmonton has not yet had a bye week, and the grueling schedule has taken it's toll. This team is banged up with several injuries to key players, and they play on the road against a well rested Montreal team. The Als are coming off a bye week, looking to bounce back from a 41-20 loss at Saskatchewan. They scored 37 points in a 24-point win over the Riders in their last home game. Despite losing QB Tre Ford with a leg injury, Edmonton traded their Week 1 starter Nick Arbuckle to Ottawa on Monday. Needless to say, they have some serious issues with their QB depth. This should be a blowout. GL, Jesse Schule
07-09-22 | Winnipeg v. BC -160 | 43-22 | Loss | -160 | 91 h 21 m | Show
This is an 8* play on B.C. The Lions are off to an impressive start going 3-0 and scoring over 44 points per game. Despite playing one fewer game than Winnipeg, the Lions have scored 50 more points (OMG am I reading that right?). Not only that, their defense has been outstanding as well. This is a tough spot for the Bombers, who just barely survived in a 23-22 win at Toronto on Monday, and now travel to Vancouver on short rest. The Lions haven't played since last Thursday, so they should have a significant advantage when it comes to rest and time to prepare. Winnipeg was outscored 19-6 in the second half of Monday's win over Toronto, and it wouldn't be any surprise to see that carry over into this road game just five days later. GL, Jesse Schule
07-07-22 | Calgary -175 v. Edmonton Elks | 49-6 | Win | 100 | 49 h 45 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Calgary. The Stampeders are coming off a 30-23 home win over Edmonton in Week 3, and the final score might suggest that the game was closer than it actually was. Calgary was in full control, but the Elks scored twice in the final two minutes to get a back door cover. The Stamps had last week off, giving them more time to prepare for this week's game at Edmonton. The Elks are coming off a surprising upset win at Hamilton, and they took advantage of a second half collapse by the Ticats. Hamilton turned the ball over four times, and Dane Evans was picked off twice. Trey Ford got his first win at QB for the Elks, despite completing only 57 percent of his passes and throwing for 159 yards with a TD and an INT. Playing a well rested Calgary team looks like a let down spot for the Elks. GL, Jesse Schule
07-04-22 | Winnipeg v. Toronto +5 | 23-22 | Win | 100 | 32 h 11 m | Show
This is a 10* play on Toronto TT Over. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are defending champions, and they come into this game in first place tie with B.C. and Calgary. This is a tough spot for them however, playing on the road versus an Eastern Conference team, with a marquee matchup versus B.C. coming up just days later. This is also a big spot for Toronto, coming off a blowout loss at B.C. in just their second game of the season. Starting QB MacBeth was heated when he was taken out of the game late in Vancouver. It was not due to poor play, as he completed 15-of-21 passes for 174 yards, but the Argos defense just couldn't get off the field. The home team has won five straight and eight of the last nine head to head meetings. The Argos beat Winnipeg 30-23 at home last season. The over is 9-1 in the last 10 head to head meetings, and the losing team has scored over 20 points in seven of those 10 games. GL, Jesse Schule
07-02-22 | Montreal v. Saskatchewan OVER 45.5 | 20-41 | Win | 100 | 19 h 34 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Over. While you don't want to overreact to the Als winning the first leg of this home and home series by a score of 37-13, you also can't ignore that since the change at quarterback their offense has been on fire. Trevor Harris replaced Vernon Adams in Week 2 in Toronto, and Montreal lost that road game by just a single point. He comes into Week 4 ranking second among CFL starters in yards per pass, and 3rd in efficiency rating. His numbers are considerably better than his counterpart Cody Fajardo. The last time the Als played at Saskatchewan, they lost by a score of of 27-25. I expect a similar score here tonight. GL, Jesse Schule
06-30-22 | BC -125 v. Ottawa | 34-31 | Win | 100 | 49 h 40 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the BC Lions. While the Lions play on the road for the first time this season, on short rest and without their star WR Bryan Burnham, they are only a slight favorite against a winless Redblacks squad. This actually looks like a good setup for a play on the home dog (situational), but I am not sure these teams are close in terms of talent. The Lions out-scored their first two opponents a combined 103-18. Nathan Rourke has completed 88 percent of his passes for over 700 yards and no picks. Their most recent opponent was a pretty talented Toronto team. Jeremiah Masoli threw for over 5000 yards and 28 TDs in 2018 in Hamilton, but has pedestrian numbers over the last two seasons. Last year he lost his job to Dane Evans. While I expect the Redblacks to give the Lions a run for their money, BC has won five straight head to head versus this team, and they are still the better team IMO. GL, Jesse Schule
06-25-22 | Toronto v. BC -178 | Top | 3-44 | Win | 100 | 116 h 15 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on BC. The Lions didn't just win their home opener, they dropped a whopping 59 points on the sad sacked Edmonton Elks. Nathan Rourke threw for 282 yards and three TDs on 26-of-29 passing. James Butler scored four TDs and ran for over 100 yards. The defense was just as impressive, forcing four turnovers and allowing just 15 points. The Argos won their home opener, but it was far less impressive. They just barely edged out Montreal by a score of 20-19. The Argos last visit to BC ended in a blowout loss by a score of 55-8, and the home team has won four of the last five head to head meetings. An extra week to prepare will also be an advantage for the home team here. GL, Jesse Schule
06-24-22 | Hamilton v. Winnipeg -190 | 12-26 | Win | 100 | 23 h 28 m | Show
This is a 5* play on WPG. The Hamilton Tigercats really faded at the end of last season, and it's been a slow start to 2022. They are in a tough spot this week, playing on the road at Winnipeg where the defending Grey Cup champs are 16-1 since 2018. The Bombers have showed no signs of slowing down, ranking 1st in the CFL in scoring defense heading into Week 3. Only Edmonton has allowed more points per game than Hamilton so far in 2022. Only the Elks QB has thrown more INTs (5) than Dane Evans (4) so far this season. Zach Collaros has thrown for 416 yards with three TDs and one INT in the first two weeks. The Bombers should probably be favored by at least a TD here. GL, Jesse Schule
06-18-22 | Saskatchewan -6.5 v. Edmonton Elks | Top | 26-16 | Win | 100 | 120 h 27 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Saskatchewan. The Riders won 30-13 at home versus Hamilton in Week 1, and they head out on the road to face the Elks in Edmonton in Week 2. Edmonton looks like the worst team in the CFL after giving up 59 points in a loss to BC in their season opener. Home field might not help, as the Elks were 0-7 in Edmonton last year. Starting QB Nick Arbuckle threw for 254 yards on 20-of-29 passing, with no TDs and three INTs in the loss to BC. The Elks are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 home games, and they are 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 games following a ATS loss. The Roughriders are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 road games, and they have won five straight head to head versus Edmonton. GL, Jesse Schule
06-17-22 | Winnipeg v. Ottawa OVER 45.5 | 19-12 | Loss | -110 | 23 h 28 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Over. So the defending champs only scored 19 points in a home win over Ottawa in Week 1, but the same two teams face each other in a rematch in Ottawa in Week 2. With both teams already having a game under their belt, we can expect more scoring here in the rematch. The Redblacks have upgraded their QB since last season, bringing in Jeremiah Masoli from Hamilton. Masoli threw for 380 yards and a TD on 24-of-34 passing in Week 1. Some of the trends might point toward an under, but it's noteworthy that the total for this game is much lower than it was in each of the previous 10 head to head meetings. In fact the total was over 50 in eight of the last 10 meetings. GL, Jesse Schule
06-11-22 | Hamilton v. Saskatchewan UNDER 49.5 | 13-30 | Win | 100 | 18 h 51 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Under. The Ticats are in Saskatchewan for their season opener, and history tells us that we should expect a low score. The under is 6-1 in the last seven head to head meetings, and the Ticats lost 19-6 in their season opener versus Winnipeg last year. The under is 14-6 in the Tiger-Cats last 20 games overall, and they have gone under in 20 of their last 28 season openers. They have also failed to reach the total in 14 of their last 19 in the first month of the season. Hamilton lost their most dynamic playmaker on offense when Brandon Banks signed with Toronto, and they are 3-18-1 ATS in their last 22 meetings in Saskatchewan. GL, Jesse Schule
06-09-22 | Montreal v. Calgary UNDER 48 | 27-30 | Loss | -110 | 90 h 20 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Under. It's typical to see low scoring games in the first few weeks of the CFL season, but last year we saw scoring down overall. That's particularly true for Calgary as the Stamps ranked second in the West in scoring defense. The Als ranked second in the East in scoring defense. These two teams have gone under in nine of the last 13 head to head meetings. The under is 13-5 in the Stampeders last 18 games in June, and the under is 19-3 in the Alouettes last 22 games in June. Calgary held the Elks to just seven points in their final game of the pre-season. GL, Jesse Schule
12-12-21 | Winnipeg -135 v. Hamilton | 33-25 | Win | 100 | 42 h 35 m | Show
This is a 5* play on WPG. The Hamilton Ticats are the best team in the ... Eastern Conference. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers though are the best team in the CFL. The Bombers rank 1st in the CFL in scoring defense allowing just 13.4 points per game. Bombers QB Zach Collaros ranked 2nd in the CFL in passing yards, 1st in TDs, and 1st IN QBR. Winnipeg has won their last two games versus Hamilton (2021 & 2019) both by double digits. The Tiger-Cats are 3-11-2 ATS in their last 16 games as a home underdog, and the Blue Bombers are 4-1 ATS in their last five playoff road games. GL, Jesse Schule
12-05-21 | Hamilton v. Toronto UNDER 44 | 27-19 | Loss | -109 | 45 h 53 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Under. Hamilton's defense was dominant in a 23-12 win over Montreal in the East Semifinal. The Ticats forced five turnovers, and sacked Trevor Harris six times. Toronto will be lucky if their QB is able to start this game, after he violated Covid19 protocols during the week. The miscue caused him to miss practice during the week. The under is 6-0 in the Tiger-Cats last six games as an underdog, and offense could be hard to come by in December in Toronto with snow in the forecast. GL, Jesse Schule
11-28-21 | Montreal v. Hamilton -4.5 | Top | 12-23 | Win | 100 | 43 h 35 m | Show |
1 This is a 10* play on Hamilton. Montreal had a chance to secure home field for this game, but they lost at home to a last place team with a rookie QB, and now they will visit Hamilton. Home field could be quite significant here, as there are few places tougher to play than Steel Town. The iger-Cats are 13-4-1 ATS in their last 18 home games, and they have covered in five straight home playoff games. The Als most dangerous weapon on offense is RB William Stanback, but he matches up against a Ticats run defense that ranks 1st in the CFL allowing just 79.6 rushing yards per game, and a league low 4.2 yards per carry. Jeremiah Masoli finished the season strong after missing four games, and ranked second in the CFL in yards per attempt (9). The Als picked up Trevor Harris after the injury to Vernon Adams, and Harris has played well, but it's still a downgrade. GL, Jesse Schule
11-20-21 | Saskatchewan v. Hamilton -5 | Top | 3-24 | Win | 100 | 15 h 56 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Hamilton. The Saskatchewan Roughriders have already clinched a playoff spot, so they will not have the majority of their offensive starters on the field when they visit Hamilton Saturday. The Tigercats have also clinched a playoff spot, but they still have a chance to lock up home field advantage. This should be quite a mismatch with Hamilton's starters going up against the Riders backups. The Tiger-Cats are 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 games as a home favorite, and they are 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 home games. GL, Jesse Schule
11-19-21 | Edmonton Elks v. BC OVER 46.5 | 10-43 | Win | 100 | 24 h 34 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Over. The BC Lions host the Edmonton Elks Friday, and neither of these two teams are headed to the playoffs. BC ranks dead last in the West Division in scoring defense, and Edmonton isn't far behind. Lions QB Mike Reilly leads the CFL in passing, and he's got some of his top receivers back. He should have little trouble carving up this Edmonton defense. The over is 6-1 in the Elks last seven games following a straight up win, and the Lions have gone over in five straight. I expect to see another high score here in Vancouver. GL, Jesse Schule
11-12-21 | Calgary v. BC OVER 45.5 | 33-23 | Win | 100 | 22 h 12 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Over. I bet the over when these two teams played four weeks ago, and here is what I said prior to the game: "It's no secret that scoring is down in the CFL this season, and perhaps that can be explained by almost a two year layoff. The bookmakers have been offering lower numbers every week, and I think this presents an opportunity to capitalize on an over-correction. Here in this game both QBs are former league MVPs (MOP). Both teams come in averaging over 23 points per game, even though both these star QBs missed time early in the season. This is by far the lowest total in the previous 10 head to head meetings between these teams, and the average total was over 50." Calgary won that game by a score of 39-10, and I expect another high score here in BC tonight. GL, Jesse Schule
11-05-21 | BC v. Hamilton OVER 43.5 | 18-26 | Win | 100 | 16 h 22 m | Show
This is a 8* play on Over. It's no secret that scoring is down in the CFL this season, and perhaps that can be explained by almost a two year layoff. The bookmakers have been offering lower numbers every week, and I think this presents an opportunity to capitalize on an over-correction. Here in this game the Lions come in with a veteran QB who is coming off a stellar performance. Mike Reilly threw for 290 yards and three TDs in the loss to the Argos. With Lucky Whitehead back from injury, this BC offense is as good as any in the CFL. GL, Jesse Schule
10-29-21 | Hamilton -5.5 v. Edmonton Elks | 39-23 | Win | 100 | 9 h 33 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Tiger Cats. Hamilton comes into Edmonton as a road favorite, and these two teams are trending in opposite directions. The Tigercats are eyeing the CFL Playoffs, while Edmonton is looking to start over with a new QB. The Elks traded former Redblacks QB Trevor Harris back to Ottawa, and picked up former Calgary Stampeder Nick Arbuckle from the Argos. This move might pay dividends in the long term, but it's not likely to help much against one of the best defenses in the CFL here in the short term. GL, Jesse Schule
10-23-21 | Saskatchewan v. Calgary OVER 44 | Top | 20-17 | Loss | -110 | 48 h 44 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Over. My top play last week was on the over in Calgary's win at B.C., and here is what I said about that game: "It's no secret that scoring is down in the CFL this season, and perhaps that can be explained by almost a two year layoff. The bookmakers have been offering lower numbers every week, and I think this presents an opportunity to capitalize on an over-correction. Here in this game both QBs are former league MVPs (MOP). Both teams come in averaging over 23 points per game, even though both these star QBs missed time early in the season. This is by far the lowest total in the previous 10 head to head meetings between these teams, and the average total was over 50." I expect a similar result here this week with Calgary hosting Saskatchewan. GL, Jesse Schule
10-22-21 | Toronto -105 v. Montreal | 16-37 | Loss | -105 | 21 h 28 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Toronto. The Argos are one of the hottest teams in the CFL, winning three straight and taking over first place in the Eastern Conference. They are in Montreal, and the Als are coming off back to back wins over Ottawa. The Redblacks rank dead last in the league in total defense, and they have the league's worst record. Their starting QB is out with an injury, and his replacement Matthew Shiltz played well in his first start. He won't have the luxury of facing the league's worst defense this week. The Alouettes are 0-6 ATS in their last six home games. GL, Jesse Schule
10-16-21 | Calgary v. BC OVER 44 | Top | 39-10 | Win | 100 | 21 h 51 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Over. It's no secret that scoring is down in the CFL this season, and perhaps that can be explained by almost a two year layoff. The bookmakers have been offering lower numbers every week, and I think this presents an opportunity to capitalize on an over-correction. Here in this game both QBs are former league MVPs (MOP). 10-11-21 | Toronto +5.5 v. Hamilton | 24-23 | Win | 100 | 13 h 35 m | Show
8* | |||||||
10-09-21 | Calgary v. Saskatchewan OVER 43.5 | 22-19 | Loss | -110 | 29 h 39 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Over, Scoring has been down in the CFL this year, and because of that the bookmakers have adjusted with lower totals. I think tonight's total might be a bit of an overcorrection. The Stampeders won 23-17 at home against Saskatchewan last week, but four of the previous five head to head meetings have gone over the total. The Calgary offense is getting healthier, with Bo Levi Mitchell back under center and star wide receiver Josh Huff back this week. Cody Fajardo ranks 3rd in the CFL in passing with almost 2000 yards in eight starts. He's also ran for over 300 yards and four TDs. Both teams should get their share of points here in Saskatchewan. GL, Jesse Schule
10-06-21 | Ottawa v. Toronto OVER 46.5 | 16-35 | Win | 100 | 28 h 44 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Over. Scoring has been down in the CFL this year, and because of that the bookmakers have adjusted with lower totals. I think tonight's total might be a bit of an overcorrection. The Ottawa Redblacks rank dead last in the CFL in scoring defense, and they will be on the road at Toronto. The good news for the Redblacks is that they might have found their QB. Rookie Caleb Evans threw for 191 yards and three TDs on 15-of-22 passing in a 34-24 win over Edmonton last week. The bad news is that they allowed a rookie (Taylor Cornelius) to throw for 334 yards and three TDs in that game. The total for this game is lower than it was in any of the previous 10 head to head meetings, and seven of those 10 games saw a total in the 50s. The Argos are coming off a bye week, and they have gone over in four of their last five when coming off a bye. GL, Jesse Schule
10-02-21 | Montreal v. Hamilton UNDER 48.5 | 23-20 | Win | 100 | 10 h 12 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the under. The Tigercats are in Montreal today, and they have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that Jeremiah Masoli is expected to return at QB. The bad neww is that he wasn't very good before he got hurt (1 TD, 4 INT). The under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in Montreal. GL, Jesse Schule
10-01-21 | Winnipeg v. BC UNDER 52.5 | 30-9 | Win | 100 | 10 h 21 m | Show
This is a 7* play on Under. The BC Lions host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday, and this matchup features the league's leading passer versus the best defense in the CFL. Mike Reilly has thrown for 1870 yards with 10 TDs and just one INT, but the Bombers defense has allowed only two passing TDs in seven games. Something has got to give here in Vancouver, but it's also noteworthy that the Lions defense has played well above average. The last time these teams met, the Bombers won by a score of 32-16. The Bombers have gone under in seven of their last nine overall, while BC has failed to reach the total in eight straight when coming off a loss. GL, Jesse Schule
09-24-21 | Montreal v. Toronto -138 | 27-30 | Win | 100 | 23 h 36 m | Show
This is a 10* play on the Argos. The Montreal Alouettes have two wins this season, but when you look at who they beat in those games it isn't very impressive. The Ottawa Redblacks are the worst team in the CFL with a record of 1-5. The Edmonton Elks aren't much better, and Ottawa's only win came against Edmonton. The Argos on the other hand are 3-3, and they have wins over two first place teams (Winnipeg and Hamilton). McLeod Bethel-Thompson will start at QB for the Argos, and he's played well so far throwing for 535 yards, three TDs and no INTs in three appearances. He was the starter in Week 1 when the Argos won on the road at Calgary. The Alouettes are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall, and they are 1-4 ATS in their last five meetings in Toronto. The Argonauts are 6-1-2 ATS in their last nine versus teams from the Eastern Conference. GL, Jesse Schule
09-22-21 | Hamilton v. Ottawa +7 | 24-7 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 32 m | Show
This is a late breaking play on Ottawa.
09-18-21 | Winnipeg -6.5 v. Edmonton Elks | Top | 37-22 | Win | 100 | 45 h 59 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Winnipeg. I had the Bombers in their win over the Riders last week, and here is what I said before kickoff: "The Bombers won big at Saksatchewan in the Labour Day Classic, and they look good as a pickem in the rematch just five days later. Cody Fajardo took a beating in the loss, throwing for 211 yards and three INTs on 23-of-39 passing. The Blue Bombers are 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 home games, and they are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games as a home favorite. They have covered in six of their last seven versus Saskatchewan." They are taking on Edmonton who will miss starting QB Trevor Harris, who was the CFL's leading passer. The Elks are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 versus a team with a winning record. GL, Jesse Schule
09-17-21 | Calgary +2 v. Hamilton | 17-23 | Loss | -110 | 27 h 11 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Stampeders. The big story here will be the starting QB for both teams. Bo Levi Mitchell is back for Calgary, and he threw for 276 yards with a TD and an INT on 23-of-42 passing in a blowout win at Edmonton last week. The Ticats will start their third string QB David Watford, who threw for 78 yards on 6-of-10 passing after coming in to replace the injured Dane Evans last week. It's going to be tough to replace Evans, who threw for 644 yards with 5 TDs and just one INT appearing in four games. The Stampeders are 21-7 ATS in their last 28 games as a road underdog, and they are 6-2 ATS in their last eight at Hamilton. GL, Jesse Schule
09-11-21 | Saskatchewan v. Winnipeg -115 | 9-33 | Win | 100 | 11 h 49 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Bombers, The Bombers won big at Saksatchewan in the Labour Day Classic, and they look good as a pickem in the rematch just five days later. Cody Fajardo took a beating in the loss, throwing for 211 yards and three INTs on 23-of-39 passing. The Blue Bombers are 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 home games, and they are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games as a home favorite. They have covered in six of their last seven versus Saskatchewan. GL, Jesse Schule
09-10-21 | Hamilton v. Toronto OVER 47 | 16-17 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 4 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Over. The Argos lost the Labour Day Classic at Hamilton by a score of 32-19, and we can expect another high score here in Toronto just four days later. Both defenses are a little banged up, and Argos pass rusher Charleston Hughes is questionable to play in the rematch. Dane Evans had his way with the Argos, throwing for 248 yards and two TDs on 21-of-29 passing in the win. These teams have gone over the total in seven of the last eight meetings, and the total for tonight's game is lower than it was in seven of those eight games. GL, Jesse Schule
09-06-21 | Edmonton Elks v. Calgary -5.5 | 32-20 | Loss | -115 | 22 h 51 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Calgary. There's a new sheriff in town for the Stampeders, and rookie QB Jake Maier has thrown for 611 yards on 46-of-68 passing. He's showed the poise of a seasoned pro, and the Stamps are in good shape moving forward. The same can not be said for the Edmonton Elks, who have been sidelined for weeks due to a Covid outbreak. Edmonton is coming off a win at BC, but they are 0-8 ATS coming off a win. They are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games as an underdog, and they have failed to cover in seven of their last 10 at Calgary. GL, Jesse Schule
09-06-21 | Toronto +115 v. Hamilton | 19-32 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 42 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Toronto. The Argos are coming off a bye, and the Ticats are coming off their first win of the season. Something's gotta give here in Hamilton on Labour Day, and the bookmakers are saying this could be anybody's game. Nick Arbuckle stepped in at QB for the Argos in Week 3, and he threw for 310 yards and a TD on 23-of-32 passing. The Ticats also made a change at QB, and Dane Evans played well in Hamilton's first win. The Argos have lost six in a row versus Hamilton, but the pieces are in place for them to end that streak here on Labour Day. Toronto has covered in seven straight versus Eastern Conference teams. GL, Jesse Schule
09-05-21 | Winnipeg +5.5 v. Saskatchewan | 23-8 | Win | 100 | 38 h 38 m | Show
This is a 5* play on WPG. The Riders have the best record in the CFL, but they face their toughest test yet when they host the defending champions Winnipeg. The Bombers are coming off an 18-16 win over Calgary, and they have the top ranked defense in the CFL. History tells us that we can expect this to be a close game, and Winnipeg looks like a solid bet getting points. Winnipeg has won four of the last six meetings, and they have covered the spread in five of those six games. Andrew Harris is back, and he ran for 81 yards and a TD on 17 carries in the win over Calgary. I'll take the points. GL, Jesse Schule
09-03-21 | Montreal -7 v. Ottawa | 51-29 | Win | 100 | 18 h 13 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Montreal. Both Montreal and Ottawa are 1-2, but the Als have a lot more to be positive about. They scored 30 points in a Week 2 win over Edmonton, before losing a close game at Calgary in Week 3 and then last week they lost to a desperate Hamilton team. They draw a favorable matchup here on Friday night, playing the RedBlacks. Ottawa ranks dead last in the CFL in scoring, and QB Matt Nichols has yet to throw a TD pass. He can lay the blame on a poor offensive line, and that could be a recipe for disaster here against an opportunistic Montreal defense. GL, Jesse Schule
08-29-21 | Calgary v. Winnipeg -6.5 | 16-18 | Loss | -110 | 40 h 41 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Winnipeg. The Bombers lost on the road at Calgary last week, but they draw a favorable matchup this Saturday with a home game against Calgary. The Stampeders lost Bo Levi Mitchell to injury, and last week they started rookie Jake Maier, who completed just 55 percent of his passes for 304 yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs. Despite Montreal out-gaining the Stamps 418-384 in total yards, Calgary hung on for the win. He's facing a far tougher team here on the road in Winnipeg this week, and it's bound to be tough sledding. GL, Jesse Schule
08-27-21 | Hamilton -125 v. Montreal | 27-10 | Win | 100 | 41 h 15 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Hamilton. The Ticats are 0-2, and this has forced them to make a change turning to Dane Evans at QB. They are coming off a bye week, giving them plenty of time to get their ducks in a row. Jeremiah Masoli had thrown four picks and just one TD in back to back losses to start the season, which resulted in him being benched in the loss to Saskatchewan in Week 2. Evans was the starter in 2019, throwing for over 3,700 yards with 21 TDs and 13 INTs. Hamilton finished first in the East and had the best record in the CFL (15-3) with Evans under center. He's more than capable of leading them to a win on the road at Montreal. GL, Jesse Schule
08-21-21 | Winnipeg v. Toronto OVER 45 | Top | 23-30 | Win | 100 | 42 h 27 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Over. After eight of the first nine games in the CFL this season went under the total, the bookmakers have made adjustments. The result is low numbers that are a product of recency bias. I believe thats' the case here in Toronto, as the Argos host the defending champs. A change at quarterback could spark the Argos offense, and keep in mind that Nick Arbuckle was expected to be the starter heading into this season. The Bombers are 2-0, and their offense is already firing on all cylinders. These teams have gone over in eight of the last nine meetings, and four straight in Toronto. GL, Jesse Schule
08-20-21 | Montreal -5 v. Calgary | 22-28 | Loss | -110 | 21 h 17 m | Show
This is a 9* play on MTL. The ALs opened as a dog, but have since been bet all the way up to a five point favorite after it was announced that Bo Levi Mitchell would not play. I like Montreal to win outright here as they come in firing on all cylinders offensively. Vernon Adams Jr. threw for a pair of TDs on 13-of-21 passing for 211 yards. William Stanback ran for 112 yards on 18 carries in the ALs 30-13 win at Edmonton. It was Montreal's defense that was most impressive though, holding Edmonton to a pair of field goals in the first three quarters. Calgary is going to struggle here with a rookie QB this early in the season. GL, Jesse Schule
08-19-21 | Edmonton Elks v. BC -190 | 21-16 | Loss | -190 | 48 h 49 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the B.C. Lions. The Lions will be the favorite at home versus Edmonton on Thursday, and they come into this game with a 1-1 record. Since Mike Reilly came in to replace Nathan Rourke for the second half of their season opener, they have outscored the opposition 35-10. Reilly threw for 342 yards on 26-of-33 passing in the win at Calgary last week. The Lions defense picked off Bo Levi Mitchell four times. Trevor Harris actually comes in as the league leader in passing yards, but with three INTs and just one TD it's fair to say he's struggling. The Elks are 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 games as an underdog. GL, Jesse Schule
08-14-21 | Hamilton v. Saskatchewan -155 | 8-30 | Win | 100 | 11 h 12 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Saskatchewan. The Riders dominated the first half of their home opener versus BC, and held on to win a close game. They host the Hamilton Tigercats in Week 2, and Hamilton is expected to be one of the best teams in the CFL this season. History doesn't bode well for the visitors though, as they are 1-4-2 ATS in their last seven games in August, and they are 3-17-1 ATS in their last 21 meetings in Saskatchewan. The Roughriders are 11-5-1 ATS in their last 17 games as a favorite. I'll take the home team as a slight favorite. GL, Jesse Schule
08-13-21 | Toronto v. Winnipeg -6.5 | 7-20 | Win | 100 | 9 h 58 m | Show
This is a 5* play on WPG. The Argos earned a hard fought win on the road at Calgary in their season opener, which now looks less impressive after the Stamps scored just single digits in a home loss to BC in Week 2. Winning on the road in back to back weeks seems like a tough ask, as they take on the defending champs in Winnipeg. The Bombers picked up right where they left off in 2019, beating Hamilton 19-6 in Week 1. They should be healthier in Week 2, and they have won their last two home games versus the Argos by a combined 53 point margin. GL, Jesse Schule
08-12-21 | BC +7 v. Calgary | 15-9 | Win | 100 | 9 h 45 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the BC Lions. The Lions season opener was a story of two halves. The first half in Saskatchewan was a complete disaster, plagued by turnovers and a rookie QB that was like a deer in the headlights. Eventually Nathan Rourke was able to gain his composure, and threw for 194 yards and two TDs on 10-of-18 passing. The Lions held Saskatchewan to just one point in the second half, and ended up with a chance to win it in the final minute. Calgary is coming off a disappointing home loss to Toronto, and now they have to play BC on a short week. Teams playing on a short week are 2-8 straight up in the last 10 such situations, and Calgary is asked to cover a ton of points here tonight. GL, Jesse Schule
08-07-21 | Toronto v. Calgary -200 | 23-20 | Loss | -200 | 8 h 32 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Calgary. The Stampeders have been by far the best team in the CFL over the last decade, and they start the 2021 season with veteran QB Bo Levi Mitchell back under center. The two time league MVP has a career record of 77-18-2 as a starter. The Stamps open the season at home, where they are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 versus Toronto. The Argos were one of the league's worst teams in 2019, but they've completely overhauled their roster adding a ton of talent. They may be competitive in the East, but it will take some time for things to come together. I don't see Toronto figuring it out on the road in Calgary in Week 1. GL, Jesse Schule
08-06-21 | BC v. Saskatchewan UNDER 48 | 29-33 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 24 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Under. It came as no surprise that we saw things get sloppy in the season opener in Winnipeg. After all it's been almost two years since these teams played a meaningful game. Injuries are also a concern, with most teams missing several key players after rushing to get the league back up and running. The last time BC played Saskatchewan they lost by a score of 27-19. The Lions have gone under in nine of their last 10 overall, and the under is 12-3-2 in their last 17 games in August. The under is 9-3-1 in the last 13 meetings in Saskatchewan. GL, Jesse Schule
08-05-21 | Hamilton v. Winnipeg UNDER 50 | 6-19 | Win | 100 | 8 h 32 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Under. It's been almost two years since we've seen a CFL game of any kind, and these teams will play their season opener after a brief training camp on short notice. It's really no surprise that injuries are a concern for both teams, but the Bombers might be even worse off on offense. They will be without their leading rusher Andrew Harris, who is a former MVP, Grey Cup MVP and league rushing leader. The bookmakers might have got caught sleeping a bit here, offering a number over 50 for the season opener. That's especially true because these teams have gone under in 10 STRAIGHT HEAD TO HEAD meetings! GL, Jesse Schule
11-24-19 | Hamilton v. Winnipeg UNDER 52 | 12-33 | Win | 100 | 19 h 59 m | Show
This is an 8* play on [email protected] to go Under the total. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Hamilton Tigercats play for the Grey Cup in Calgary tonight, and these two teams sure know how to play defense. The Bombers have held both their opponents to 14 points or fewer in the playoffs, while the Ticats have held their last two opponents to fewer than 20 points. Winnipeg has a big weapon in the backfield, with Andrew Harris who was the CFL's leading rusher this season. We can expect the Bombers to try to get Harris involved early. The under is 20-6 in the last 26 meetings, and they have gone under in each of the last nine head to head meetings. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
11-10-19 | Edmonton v. Montreal UNDER 50 | Top | 37-29 | Loss | -107 | 51 h 45 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on [email protected] to go Under the total. Trevor Harris ranks second in the CFL in passing, but he put up big numbers early in the season before struggling down the stretch. In his last four appearances he's thrown more INTs (4) than TDs (3). Edmonton scored just 13 points in a loss to Saskatchewan last week, and they Eskimos have averaged just 17 points per game in their last four games. They do have the CFL's #3 ranked scoring defense behind Hamilton and Saskatchewan. The under is 11-3-1 in the Eskimos last 15 road games, and the last time they played Montreal they lost by a score of 20-10. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
10-11-19 | Saskatchewan v. Calgary -149 | 28-30 | Win | 100 | 16 h 43 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Calgary Stampeders. I bet on the Stamps last week, and here is what I said prior to their game at Montreal: "The Stamps are heading to Montreal hoping to avenge an overtime loss at home to the Als in August, and they have won four straight. It's no coincidence that their winning streak started with the return of starting quarterback Bo Levi-Mitchell, who didn't play in the last game. The Stamps have won six of eight versus Montreal when Mitchell starts, and they are are 18-7-3 ATS in their last 28 games following a bye week. I love this revenge spot for Calgary." While the led 17-10 at halftime, the Als came back and won 21-17. Now they are back home this week hosting the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Calgary is an incredible 58-12 in their last 70 home games. Take CAL. GL, Jesse Schule
10-05-19 | Calgary -150 v. Montreal | Top | 17-21 | Loss | -150 | 11 h 44 m | Show |
This is an 8* play on the Calgary Stampeders.
09-21-19 | Winnipeg -134 v. Montreal | Top | 37-38 | Loss | -134 | 57 h 35 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Winnipeg comes into Week 15 with the best record in the CFL (9-3) and they beat Saskatchewan 35-10 in their last game. They come off a bye week, facing a Montreal team playing on six day rest. The Als lost 27-25 at Saskatchewan last Sunday. While Montreal is the second best team in the Eastern Conference, they are just one game above .500, and they have a point differential of just +1. The Bombers get a big boost with the return of their best player this week. Andrew Harris missed the last two games due to a suspension, and he's going to be playing "angry" this week. This just looks like a bad spot for an inferior Montreal team. Take WPG. GL, Jesse Schule
09-02-19 | Toronto +13 v. Hamilton | 27-38 | Win | 100 | 2 h 52 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Toronto. The Hamilton Tigercats will be a double digit favorite in the Labor Day Classic versus rivals Toronto. The Ticats have the best record in the CFL, but without starting quarterback Jeremaiah Masoli, I don't think they are 12 points better than anyone. Since backup Dane Evans has taken over, the Tabbies have beaten BC twice, but by a combined four points. They scored just 21 points in a win over Ottawa and lost 24-19 to the Riders. Take TOR. GL, Jesse Schule
09-01-19 | Winnipeg v. Saskatchewan -5 | Top | 17-19 | Loss | -115 | 14 h 30 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Saskatchewan. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are on top of the Western Conference standings, and they are coming off a big upset win over Edmonton last week. Backup quarterback Chris Streveler was just 7-of-17 for 89 yards without any scores in the win, and those numbers aren't likely going to cut it on the road in Saskatchewan. Already without starting quarterback Matt Nichols, the Bombers will be without leading rusher Andrew Harris tonight, after he tested positive for a banned substance. The Riders defense has looked good during a five game winning streak, and they should be able to shut down this shorthanded Winnipeg offense. Take SASK. GL, Jesse Schule
08-17-19 | Montreal v. Calgary -6.5 | Top | 40-34 | Loss | -128 | 116 h 6 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Calgary Stampeders. Montreal will have Vernon Adams Jr. back for this road game at Calgary, but he's going up against one of the CFL's best defenses. Calgary leads the league in forced turnovers, with 24 so far this season. Bo Levi Mitchell is expected to see some action here against the Als, but he might be sharing the workload with Nick Arbuckle. The Als offense struggled in a home loss to Saskatchewan last week, gaining just 141 yards in a weather shortened game. It won't get any easier on the road against an even tougher opponent. Take CAL. 08-15-19 | BC v. Winnipeg OVER 51 | 16-32 | Loss | -109 | 70 h 32 m | Show
This is an 8* play on [email protected] to go Over the total. I bet on BC in their last game, a 35-34 loss (but easy cover) at Hamilton. Here is what I said prior to the game: "It's true that fixes on the offensive line take time, but the Lions have now had some time to make adjustments. They come out of their bye week as a double digit dog against Hamilton. The Ticats lost star quarterback Jeremaiah Masoli for the rest of the season, and backup Dane Evans has thrown for 395 yards, two TDs and two INTs on 61.7 percent passing in three games. Hamilton is just 2-2 over their last four games, and all of those games have been close. It seems reasonable to expect the Lions to give them a game here." While the Lions showed some improvement on offense scoring 34 points, their poor defense and special teams cost them in the end. They lost at home to Winnipeg by a score of 33-23 in Week 1, and I expect a similar score here in the rematch. Take Over. GL, Jesse Schule
08-10-19 | BC +11 v. Hamilton | 34-35 | Win | 100 | 19 h 49 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the BC Lions. My CFL Game of the Year was an easy winner with Saskatchewan beating BC at home 45-18 two weeks ago. Prior to that game I said: "unless the Lions can keep their quarterback upright, they won't be able to compete with anybody. . Reilly has been absolutely crushed this season, as the Lions undersized line can't hold off opponent's pass rush. Reilly has been sacked more than any other QB in the league, and he's limped off the field in each and every game." It's true that fixes on the offensive line take time, but the Lions have now had some time to make adjustments. It seems reasonable to expect the Lions to give them a game here. Take BC. GL, Jesse Schule
08-08-19 | Calgary v. Winnipeg UNDER 48.5 | 24-26 | Loss | -107 | 22 h 35 m | Show
This is a 5* play on [email protected] to go Under the total. The best record in the CFL is up for grabs when the Stamps take on the Bombers in Winnipeg Thursday. The Stampeders will be a big underdog here, despite the fact that they come in as winners of five of their last six overall. Calgary has been getting it done with their defense, as the offense has been rather pedestrian with Nick Arbuckle at quarterback. Calgary has gone under in five straight overall and six straight on the road. These teams have only gone over the total once in the last five head to head meetings, and they have failed to go over the total in five straight in Winnipeg. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
08-03-19 | Edmonton +1 v. Calgary | Top | 18-24 | Loss | -105 | 122 h 20 m | Show |
This is an 8* play on the Edmonton Eskimos. The Stamps have won four of their last five games, but they have not looked impressive offensively. Nick Arbuckle has thrown as many picks as he has TDs (2) in his last three starts. He's filling in for starting QB Bo-Levi Mitchell, who is out at least for another week. Trevor Harris comes in leading the CFL in passing, throwing for just shy of 2000 yards on better than 70 percent passing with 10 TDs and 2 picks. The Eskimos are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 versus teams with a winning record. Calgary has failed to cover in five of their last six games overall, and they are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 versus teams from the West. I'll take the Eskies as a dog with a huge advantage at quarterback. Take EDM. GL, Jesse Schule
08-01-19 | Hamilton v. Saskatchewan UNDER 50.5 | Top | 19-24 | Win | 100 | 51 h 34 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on [email protected] to go Under the total. The Ticats own the best record in the CFL, and only Winnipeg has allowed fewer points this season than the Ticats. Hamilton is coming off a 23-15 win over the Bombers last week, but they lost their starting QB in that game. Jeremaiah Masoli was ranked second in the CFL in passing prior to the injury. His replacement Dane Evans stepped in and completed just over 50 percent of his passes, with no TDs and an INT in the win over Winnipeg. We can expect a conservative game plan from the Ticats here in Saskatchewan. Masoli isn't the only injured star on Hamilton's offense, Brandon Banks is also out for tonight's game. The Riders have failed to reach the total in five of their last six home games, and the under is 8-3 in the last 11 head to head meetings versus Hamilton. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
07-27-19 | Saskatchewan -3.5 v. BC | Top | 45-18 | Win | 100 | 102 h 5 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Saskatchewan. After losing 38-25 at Saskatchewan last week, the sharp money is going to be tempted to take the Lions as a home underdog in a revenge game a week later. The problem with the revenge angle is that unless the Lions can keep their quarterback upright, they won't be able to compete with anybody. They have just one win this season, and it came against the 0-5 Toronto Argos. They actually blew a lead in that game, and missed the potential game winning field goal (a chip shot), only to get lucky and score a single to end the game. Reilly has been absolutely crushed this season, as the Lions undersized line can't hold off opponent's pass rush. Reilly has been sacked more than any other QB in the league, and he's limped off the field in each and every game. It would be a miracle if he manages to stay healthy in this game, let alone the rest of the season. Take SASK. GL, Jesse Schule
07-20-19 | Edmonton v. Montreal UNDER 54 | Top | 10-20 | Win | 100 | 96 h 38 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on [email protected] to go Under the total. The Als have been the worst team in the CFL for almost a decade, but things are looking up in Montreal. They come into this home game versus Edmonton as winners of back to back games, and they are now 2-2 on the season. Their defense is playing well, giving up a total of 48 points in wins over Hamilton and Ottawa. The Eskimos are also playing well defensively, in fact only the undefeated Winnipeg Blue Bombers have allowed fewer points this season. The under is 6-1-1 in the Eskimos last eight road games. The under is 6-2 in the Alouettes last eight games following a straight up win. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
07-19-19 | Ottawa v. Winnipeg UNDER 56.5 | 1-31 | Win | 100 | 76 h 45 m | Show
This is an 8* play on [email protected] to go Under the total. The Bombers are still undefeated, coming off a 48-21 blowout win over Toronto last week. It's important to understand that Toronto is by far the worst team in the CFL, and has conceded 188 points in five games. The Bombers have allowed the fewest points of any team in the league this season, and they face Ottawa's 2nd string quarterback here tonight. The under is 13-6 in the RedBlacks last 19 road games, and they have failed to reach the total in nine of their last 11 in the month of July. The under is 4-1 in the Bombers last five home games. I'll fade this inflated number. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
07-11-19 | Edmonton v. BC UNDER 55 | 33-6 | Win | 100 | 23 h 6 m | Show
8* | |||||||
07-06-19 | Calgary v. Saskatchewan -200 | 37-10 | Loss | -200 | 10 h 43 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Saskatchewan Riders. Calgary has dominated the CFL for the majority of the last decade, but after losing several key players on defense this off-season they appear to have lost a step. They were well on their way to an 0-2 start, but staged a miraculous comeback in a 36-32 home win over B.C. last week. The Lions opened up a 22-10 lead in the first half, but suffered a second half collapse. Calgary's defense was lit up in a home loss to Ottawa in Week 1, and now they play their first road game of the season against a Saskatchewan team that has averaged 30 points per game so far. Cody Fajardo has settled in at quarterback for the Riders, completing better than 73 percent of his passes for 856 yards, four TDs and no picks. That's even more impressive when you look at his rushing stats. I expect Calgary to struggle on the road with their backup QB here this week. Take SASK. GL, Jesse Schule

5* | |||||||
07-05-19 | Winnipeg +4 v. Ottawa | 29-14 | Win | 100 | 42 h 52 m | Show
This is a 10* play on Winnipeg. Both the Blue Bombers and the Redblacks come into Friday's game with a perfect 2-0 record, but I haven't been as impressed by Ottawa. Both their wins came in games decided by four points or less, scoring late in a 32-28 win at Calgary in Week 1 and then just barely hanging on in a 44-41 win over Saskatchewan. They have given up plenty of points, and now they face a Winnipeg team with a bonafide #1 veteran starting QB and the best running back in the CFL. The history certainly favors Winnipeg, who have won four of the last five head to head meetings, and three straight at Ottawa. The Bombers have covered the spread in four straight visits to Canada's capital. The Bombers are also 21-8 ATS in their last 29 road games. I'll take the points. Take WPG. GL, Jesse Schule
07-04-19 | Hamilton v. Montreal +12.5 | 29-36 | Win | 100 | 18 h 44 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Montreal Alouettes. In a 41-10 blowout loss in Hamilton last week, Montreal's defense actually played quite well. They picked off Jeremiah Masoli three times, and an impressive goal line stand kept the game close in the first half. Montreal doesn't get a lot of respect from bettors or bookmakers, and it's easy to understand why. They have lost 15 of their last 20 games, but they are are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall. They have covered in four of their last five coming off a loss, and they are 5-1 ATS in their last six versus a winning team. Hamilton on the other hand has failed to cover in seven straight in the month of July. Take MTL. GL, Jesse Schule
07-01-19 | Toronto v. Saskatchewan UNDER 52.5 | 7-32 | Win | 100 | 41 h 36 m | Show
This is an 8* play on [email protected] to go Under the total. The Riders opened the season with a 23-17 loss at Hamilton, and they held Jeremaiah Masoli to 169 yards and a TD on 17-of-28 passing. That's an impressive showing from their defense when you consider that Masoli was second in the CFL last year in passing yards, and has since lit up the Argos and the Als. Cody Fajardo certainly doesn't rank among the top quarterbacks in the CFL, but he's probably a better option than the argos have at their disposal. These two teams have failed to reach the total in three of the last four head to head meetings and tonight's total is higher than it was in any of those previous games. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
06-29-19 | BC v. Calgary -10 | Top | 32-36 | Loss | -109 | 19 h 46 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Calgary. The BC Lions looked like Grey Cup contenders when they signed CFL passing leader Mike Reilly this off-season. They head into Week 3 in serious danger of falling to 0-3 on the season. Reilly has struggled in losses to Edmonton and Winnipeg, throwing for more INTs (3) than TDs (2). The Lions defense has been lit up for a combined 72 points in the first two weeks. Calgary is coming off a bye week, and the Stamps will try to bounce back after losing their season opener to Ottawa. The Stampeders are 17-6-3 ATS in their last 26 games following a bye week. The defending Grey Cup champions should have little trouble here at home against a struggling BC team. Take CAL. GL, Jesse Schule
06-28-19 | Montreal v. Hamilton UNDER 58.5 | 10-41 | Win | 100 | 22 h 31 m | Show
This is a 5* play on [email protected] to go Under the total. If anyone was encouraged by the Als 32-25 loss in Week 1, perhaps they should examine the game a little closer. Montreal scored just eight points in the first three quarters, before a late rally that came up short. Keep in mind that this team scored the fewest points in the CFL last year, and they have failed to reach the total in nine of their last 12 road games. The under is 24-4 in their last 28 games in the first month of the season. Hamilton opened the season with a 23-17 win over Saskatchewan, and I think that's a more accurate example of what this team is than last week's 64-14 win over Toronto. The total here is far higher (at least seven points) than it was in the previous 10 head to head meetings. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
06-27-19 | Edmonton v. Winnipeg -4.5 | 21-28 | Win | 100 | 17 h 21 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Bombers Week 1 win on the road at B.C. was impressive, and they have since had a bye week to prepare for their home opener against Edmonton. The Eskimos are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games in June. The Bombers are 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine home games. The Bombers defense was the second best in the league last season, as only Calgary allowed fewer points. They won six of their nine home games. The Eskimos play on the road for the first time this season, but they lost seven of nine on the road last year. Take WPG. GL, Jesse Schule
06-22-19 | Hamilton -165 v. Toronto | 64-14 | Win | 100 | 5 h 50 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Hamilton Tiger Cats. The Argos don't have a lot of talent at QB since Ricky Ray retired, handing the reigns to James Franklin, and backup McLeod Bethel-Thompson. They make their season debut at home against a Hamilton team that looked pretty sharp in a Week 1 win over Saskatchewan. Jeremiah Masoli didn't have great numbers in last week's game, but the 30 year old finished second in the CFL in passing last season. He's going up against an Argos defense that ranked dead last in the CFL in 2018. I expect Hamilton to jump all over the Argos in the first half tonight. Take HAM. GL, Jesse Schule
06-21-19 | BC +165 v. Edmonton | Top | 23-39 | Loss | -100 | 55 h 42 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the B.C. Lions. The Lions lost at home in Week 1 to Winnipeg, and QB Mike Reilly didn't look sharp. He threw for 324 yards with a TD and two INTs. Reilly led the CFL in passing in each of the last three seasons, and he should be primed for a better performance here against his former club. Edmonton isn't the defensive powerhouse that Winnipeg is. The Eskimos were lit up by Vernon Adams Jr. in the 4th quarter last week. Tevor Harris had a monster of a game against the Als, but keep in mind that Montreal is by far the worst team in the CFL. I wasn't impressed with Edmonton's win over the Als, and I expect BC to give them a run for their money here in Week 2. Take BC. GL, Jesse Schule
06-15-19 | Ottawa v. Calgary UNDER 51.5 | 32-28 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 25 m | Show
This is a 5* play on [email protected] to go Under the total. The Calgary Stampeders were the best team in the CFL last year, and they have been by far the best team north of the border over the past decade. They open the season at home against Ottawa, who they beat 27-16 in last year's Grey Cup. The Stampeders won all three meetings versus Ottawa last season, and all three of those games went under the total. The Redblacks will come into this game without their starting quarterback, leading rusher and leading receiver from a year ago. The under is 21-5 in Calgary's last 26 games in the month of June, and they have failed to reach the total in eight of their last 11 home games. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
11-11-18 | BC v. Hamilton UNDER 52 | Top | 8-48 | Loss | -108 | 143 h 57 m | Show |
This is a 10* GOY play on [email protected] to go Under the total. The B.C. Lions are coming off a 26-9 home loss to Calgary, but they come into Hamilton as winners of three of their last four road games. The one loss during that span came at Hamilton however. While I like B.C. here as the underdog against a Hamilton team that has been hit hard by injuries, I think the better bet is on the total. Nine of the last 10 meetings between these teams saw a total lower than the number listed for this game. It's mid November in Hamilton, and freezing temperatures are in the forecast for Sunday. The under is 9-2-2 in BC's last 13 overall, and 11 of BC's last 16 at Hamilton failed to reach the total. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
11-03-18 | Winnipeg v. Edmonton -4.5 | Top | 24-33 | Win | 100 | 68 h 0 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Edmonton Eskimos. Edmonton isn't going to play in this season's playoffs, which is quite a surprise given that Mike Reilly finished first in the CFL in passing once again. Reilly and the Eskimos can avoid finishing with a losing record if they can win at home against Winnipeg today. The Bombers should be resting players having already qualified for the playoffs. Winnipeg will either face Saskatchewan or Calgary, but the result of this game doesn't have any bearing on where they play. The Stampeders can clinch first place with a win at BC, which would have them hosting Winnipeg in the West Semi Final. Otherwise they play at Saskatchewan. The key for the Bombers here should be to escape with a healthy roster. The Eskimos have been solid at home, winning six of eight. They should show up with a spirited performance in their season finale. Take EDM. GL, Jesse Schule
11-02-18 | Toronto +200 v. Ottawa | 9-24 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 13 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Toronto Argos. Ottawa comes into it's season finale expected to rest starting QB Trevor Harris, and they have nothing to play for here as they have already clinched a playoff spot. The Argos are one of the league's worst teams, and may be motivated to close out their season on a positive note versus their rivals Ottawa. Toronto has history on it's side, winning three of the last four meetings outright. I sure wouldn't be surprised to see the underdog record an upset in a meaningless game in Ottawa tonight. Take TOR. GL, Jesse Schule
10-28-18 | Toronto v. Montreal UNDER 49.5 | Top | 10-40 | Loss | -108 | 47 h 0 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on [email protected] to go Under the total. I bet on Montreal last week, and they covered in a loss at Toronto. Here is what I said prior to the game: "Toronto and Montreal are the league's worst teams, each having just three wins this season. The Als have looked like the better team lately though, covering the spread in six of their last eight overall. They looked extremely competitive in a 12-6 home loss to Calgary two weeks ago, and their defense has been solid. Johnny Manziel is still trying to figure out how to succeed in the CFL, but he's shown plenty of promise at times. With Montreal coming off a bye week, getting points in Toronto, I like the Als to keep this one close and maybe even win outright. History certainly favors the visitors, as the Alouettes are 20-8 ATS in their last 28 meetings in Toronto." Both defenses played well last week, and the total landed on 48. Low scoring games have been common in this series, the is under 18-7-1 in the last 26 meetings. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
