06-21-24 | Panthers v. Oilers UNDER 5.5 | Top | 1-5 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 24 m | Show |
At 8:00 ET, my NHL Playoff TOW is on the Under in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The series started with 2 low-scoring games. I came back with a winner with the Over in Game 3. That was followed with overs in Games 4 and 5. Now we've got a series again! Game 6 will be the lowest-scoring game of the series so far. The Panthers only lost 2 games in a row one other time in these playoffs. They won 3-2 the next game. Before that, the last time that they lost 2 in a row, they responded with a shutout. At 5-on-5, the Panthers are really difficult to score against. They will do a much better job at limiting Edmonton's chances in this one. Play on the Under.
06-18-24 | Oilers v. Panthers -130 | Top | 5-3 | Loss | -130 | 14 h 31 m | Show |
At 8:00pm ET, my NHL GOW is on the Florida Panthers. Down 3-0 in their series against Boston, we saw the Dallas Mavericks show a lot of pride to force a Game 5. Down 3-0 in this series, we saw the Oilers do the same thing. Last night, we saw what happened to the Mavericks. They won their token game to avoid the sweep but there's no coming back from 3-0. The series ended in 5. Tonight, the NHL finals will continue to play out the same way as the NBA Finals. Florida has won 5 of the past 6 meetings. The Oilers aren't nearly as good away from Edmonton. The Panthers have been great at responding to bad losses. During these playoffs, the Panthers have lost by three or more goals on 2 other instances. Florida and goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky responded with 6-1 victories the next game, both times. Bring out the Cup! Play on Florida.
06-15-24 | Panthers v. Oilers -114 | Top | 1-8 | Win | 100 | 14 h 17 m | Show |
At 8:00pm ET, my NHL GOW is on the Edmonton Oilers. Down 3-0 in their series against Boston, we saw the Dallas Mavericks show a lot of pride to force a Game 5. Tonight, we will see the Oilers do the same thing. This series may seem like its been all Florida but its been far closer than the 3-0 series score indicates. The Oilers outshot the Panthers 35-23 last game and 32-17 in Game 1. Edmonton is giving up. Stuart Skinner said. "I'm not too sure what the stats are coming back on it, but if anyone can do it, it's the Oil." The Oilers are still 34-12-5 on home ice. Superstar Connon McDavid won't go down without a fight. McDavid said: "We can't score on the outside on these guys. We have to get to the middle." The captain will lead by example and the Oilers will live to fight another day. Play on Edmonton.
06-13-24 | Panthers v. Oilers OVER 5.5 | Top | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 33 h 31 m | Show |
At 8:00 ET, my NHL Playoff TOY is on the Over in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The 2 games in Florida were both won by the Panthers. Each of them stayed under the posted total. Now the series shifts to Canada. The change of rinks will bring a different style of game and that means more scoring. The Oilers are hard to stop on home ice. They average 4.1 goals per game in games played at Edmonton. Games here average 6.8 combined goals. The Panthers actually score slightly more goals (3.4) on the road than they do at home. Bobrovsky is a top goalie for Florida but he's not unbeatable. He let in a soft one to start Game 2. Edmonton's goaltending hasn't been at the same level. Florida will continue to score but this time Edmonton will do the same. Each of Florida's last seven visits here have finished with 6 or more goals. Play on the Over.
06-08-24 | Oilers v. Panthers -134 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 122 h 37 m | Show |
At 8:00 ET, my NHL Playoff GOY is on the Florida Panthers. I'm happy that the Oilers made it to the Finals. The reality is that they were a little fortunate to knock off Dallas. The Stars dominated them in the final game of that series. There's been nothing fortunate about Florida making it here. The Panthers have clearly been stronger than each of their opponents. The Panthers wear teams down throughout the game. The price on the Panthers is entirely reasonable. They were far more expensive for their home games against the Lightning, Bruins and Rangers. The Oilers aren't very good on the road though, not nearly as strong as they are at Edmonton. The Panthers handled the Oilers in both regular season meetings, winning by a combined score of 10-3. They will take Game 1. Play on Florida.
05-29-24 | Stars v. Oilers -130 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 12 h 29 m | Show
At 8:30 ET, my NZT play is on the Edmonton Oilers. This series could easily go the distance as these teams are very evenly matched. Off back to back losses and understanding the urgency of the moment, we will see the very best of the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday. The Oilers are already 2-0 in the playoffs after allowing more than 4 goals in their previous game. They won those 2 games by a combined score of 10-4. The Oilers are also a perfect 5-0 their past 5 tries after suffering 2 losses in a row. They won those 5 games by scores of 7-4, 9-2, 6-2, 4-3 and 4-0. That's a combined 30-11! Play on Edmonton.
05-28-24 | Rangers v. Panthers -166 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 4 m | Show |
At 8:00pm ET, my Eastern Conference Finals Game Of The Year is on the Florida Panthers. This series has been very close. The Rangers have won the last 2 games, both in Overtime. The Panthers won the first game 3-0. So, Florida has actually outscored NY in the series but find themselves down 2-1. This is not a team which panics. They know what they need to do and they will get the series tied. The last time that the Panthers were off 2 straight losses, they responded with a 6-0 victory. The Panthers outshot the Rangers 37-23 last game and dominated in most statistical categories. That type of effort will lead to victory more often than not. "When you put up whatever we put up tonight and you don't come away with a win, you should be a little growly," Panthers coach Paul Maurice said. Sam Reinhart added: "You can say we dominated, but then you look at the mistakes that led to their goals. So, there's areas for improvement, for sure." The Panthers will make that improvement and clean up their goals allowed. Play on Florida
05-27-24 | Stars v. Oilers -122 | Top | 5-3 | Loss | -122 | 13 h 20 m | Show |
At 8:30 ET, my NHL Conference Final GOY is on the Edmonton Oilers. The games are very close right now, in both the East and the West. Three of the last 4 NHL games overall have gone to Overtime. Dallas is a good road team but the advantage provided by playing on home ice absolutely makes a difference. The Oilers are back home in front of their fired up fans and they have the support of an entire country behind them. A mediocre team on the road, the Oilers are 32-10-5 at home. Edmonton defenseman Mattias Ekholm said this: "We're back in our barn. It's going to be exciting. We're going to try and use the energy from our fans and keep building our game. We ... got our split and we feel good about that, but now it's time to raise our level when we get home and dictate the game." The last time that the Oilers played here was probably their best game of the playoffs. They stifled the Vancouver Canucks and won 5-1. They will raise their level and take a 2-1 series lead. Play on Edmonton.
05-24-24 | Panthers v. Rangers +100 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 38 m | Show
AT 8:00 ET, my Center Ice Report is on the NY Rangers. The Panthers won the first game 3-0. They're strong. The Rangers are also an elite team. Getting them at home, off a loss, at this price is an excellent bargain. The Rangers are 8-2 their last 10 tries after scoring 1 goal or less in their previous game. They are 22-6 (+14.3) when revenging a loss, 8-2 when playing with home ice revenge. The Rangers are also 7-3 their last 10 tries, when trailing in a playoff series. Play on New York.
05-23-24 | Oilers v. Stars UNDER 6 | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 12 h 13 m | Show
At 8:30pm Eastern, my Neutral Zone Trap play is on Edmonton/Dallas Under the total. Last night's Eastern Conference Finals ended with a 3-0 final score. Great goal-tending and tough defense. Tonight's Western Conference Finals opener will take a similar trajectory. The Oilers are known for their scoring but they got here with their defense. They held Vancouver to 2, 3, 1 and 2 goals in the final 4 games of that series. The Canucks had trouble generating shots. Dallas used a similar formula. The Stars held the Avalanche to 1 goal in 3 of the final 4 games of that series. Oettinger had a shutout when these teams met here last month. Play on the Under.
05-20-24 | Oilers v. Canucks UNDER 5.5 | Top | 3-2 | Win | 101 | 13 h 54 m | Show |
At 9:00 pm Eastern, my NHL Total Of The Week is on Vancouver/Edmonton under the total. The first 3 games of the series all finished with at least 7 goals. Things have tightened up since then. The last 3 games have all finished with 6 or less. Scoring opportunities have been hard to come by. Last game, the teams only combined for 42 shots. That's less than individual teams sometimes get. Brock Boeser leads Vancouver in goals scored in these playoffs. He's also tied for the team lead in overall points. The problem is that Boeser is expected to miss the game. That hurts the offense. Goals are often hard to come by in a Game 7. This season's first 2 Game 7s (Bos/Tor and Dal/Veg) finished with scores of 2-1 and 2-1. Since last year, the past 5 Game 7's have all finished with 4 goals or less. Play on the Under.
05-17-24 | Stars v. Avalanche -114 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -114 | 12 h 47 m | Show |
The Avalanche offense woke up last game. That spells trouble for Dallas tonight. They also solved the Stars goalie, making Oettinger look human. Confidence restored and back on home ice, Colorado will win again and force a 7th game. Much was made of Valeri Nichushkin's absence from the Colorado lineup. He'd been scoring a lot of goals and is now in the player's assistance program. The Colorado offense was fine without him though. A bigger deal proved to be the absence of the Stars' Roope Hintz. Dallas first-line center was helping play a big part in slowing down the first line of Colorado. Colorado's Cale Makar said this, after scoring twice in the Game 5 win: "Do-or-die games from here on out in this series. You're playing desperate hockey now. Everybody's got to play on the edge. You've got to fight for every single chance you're getting now (with) it being an elimination game." This series is going back to Dallas!
05-14-24 | Bruins +1.5 v. Panthers | Top | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 32 m | Show |
Florida is clearly a very strong team. The Bruins are not to be underestimated though. Not even down 3-1 in a series. This is a team with a great deal of heart and resiliency. They are 8-2 their past 10 tries, after 3 or more consecutive losses. Over the same period, the Bruins are 62-34 against divisional foes. After 3 lopsided scores to begin the series, the last game was much closer. The final score was 3-2. With the Bruins giving everything they've got, this is also going to be a close battle, one which could easily be decided in Overtime. Grab the +1.5 goals with the Bruins on puck-line!
05-12-24 | Canucks v. Oilers UNDER 6.5 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -115 | 13 h 47 m | Show |
Nine goals in the first game. That came down to 7 goals in the 2nd game, 6 in regulation. The number of goals will continue to fall in Game 3. The Canucks last trip to Edmonton ended in a 3-1 victory. Vancouver playoff games are averaging 5.1 goals. The Canucks are averaging only 20.4 shots on goal in the playoffs. They permit just 24.6. The Oilers are allowing an average of just 2.4 goals over their past 5 games, only 27 shots per game. They concede 2.7 goals per game on home ice. The Canucks don't see many 6.5's. Let's take advantage of this one and go with the Under!
05-11-24 | Rangers v. Hurricanes -142 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 11 m | Show |
The breaks didn't go their way but the Hurricanes played a great game on Thursday. Now the pressure is off. They are expected to lose. They won't be squeezing the stick quite as tight. Suddenly, some of those near misses are going to start going their way. This is a very good Carolina team. They are talented and well-coached. They know how much their fans love them and the players appreciate that. They won't let them see them get swept. The Hurricanes have fired more than 100 shots at the Rangers in just the past 2 games. They will move to 10-6 when playing with home revenge.
05-09-24 | Avalanche v. Stars UNDER 6.5 | 3-5 | Loss | -120 | 14 h 54 m | Show
Wednesday's NHL games were high-scoring but Thursday's games will be different. There is a lot of firepower on the ice in this game but that's reflected in the fact that this total is very high. The number was 6 instead of 6.5 in the opening game. The offenses are potent but the defenses can be really good as well. Dallas allows 2.2 goals over its last 5 games. Colorado also allows an average of 2.2 goals over its last 5 games. The Stars lost 4-3 in the opening game. Dallas also lost 4-3 in Game 1 of its first series against Vegas. The next game was a 3-1 final. Before Game 1 of this series, the Stars had played 6 straight games with 6 goals or less. Go with the Under!
05-09-24 | Rangers v. Hurricanes UNDER 5.5 | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 11 m | Show
Wednesday's NHL games were high-scoring but Thursday's games will be different. The Rangers allow 2.8 goals per game on the road. In the playoffs, they are conceding only 2.2 goals per game. Carolina allows only 2.5 goals per game at home, just 24 shots. Both teams have top level goalies. Both are among the best at killing penalties. Go with the Under!
05-09-24 | Rangers v. Hurricanes -170 | 3-2 | Loss | -170 | 11 h 11 m | Show
These are two very good teams and this series could still easily go the distance. Having dropped Game 1 and Game 2, the Hurricanes know that absolutely need this one. They are still 21-12 their last 33 tries, when revenging a loss. They are also 15-6 their past 21 tries, after allowing 4 or more goals. As a matter of fact, the Hurricanes remain a rock solid 7-1 the past 8 times that they were off a loss. A resilient team, the Hurricanes outshoot visiting games by a 34-24 margin and outscore them 3.4 to 2.5. They have passionate fans and they will not be denied. Let's go Canes!
05-08-24 | Bruins v. Panthers -158 | 1-6 | Win | 100 | 8 h 13 m | Show
The Boston Bruins showed everyone that they are not to be taken lightly in Game 1. Even though, they were coming off a hard 7-game series versus the Maple Leafs, they still managed to hammer the well-rested Florida Panthers by a 5-1 score. Now we will see the best of the Panthers. Florida is 59-36 its last 85 tries, after allowing 4 goals or more. The Panthers are 13-7 their last 20 in that situation. Boston is only 19-18 (-8.5) after scoring 4 or more. You might also be surprised to learn that the Bruins are just 2-6 (-8.4) their last 8 tries, when leading in a playoff series. Lay the price with the Panthers!
05-05-24 | Hurricanes v. Rangers UNDER 5.5 | 3-4 | Loss | -120 | 7 h 36 m | Show
The Hurricanes are 19-11-1 to the under their last 31 tries when playing with 3 or more days rest, 6-3 this season. The Hurricanes allow 2.4 goals per division game and they're allowing 2.4 goals per playoff game. Their division games are 21-9-1 to the under. The Rangers are 4-2 to the under when playing with 3 or more days rest. They are 5-2 to the under their last 7 2nd round playoff games, 31-15 long-term. They're allowing only 1.7 goals per game in the playoffs. The last h2h meeting was a 1-0 final score. Go with the Under!
05-03-24 | Canucks v. Predators UNDER 5.5 | Top | 1-0 | Win | 100 | 11 h 16 m | Show |
The last game finished with a 2-1 final score. That makes 3 of the last 4 games which have produced 5 or fewer goals. Vancouver has generated only 92 shots in the first five games of the series. The Canucks' previously potent power play has scored goals in only one game. Even in the regular season, these teams were both pretty good defensively but both have stepped up their defensive efforts even further in the postseason. Both teams are averaging only 2.4 goals in the playoffs. Only Toronto and Washington have averaged less. This is from NHL.com about Vancouver's defense: "The Canucks are allowing 6.94 high-danger chances against per 60 minutes at five-on-five. That is the best in the league for defending against high-danger scoring chances. They also rank number one in the league for allowing scoring chances against per 60 minutes – only allowing 19.8/60 at five-on-five." Go with the Under.
05-01-24 | Golden Knights v. Stars -149 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 8 h 35 m | Show
The Dallas Stars dropped the first two games at home but then won the next two on the road. Tonight, home ice will finally make a difference. The Golden Knights are only 20-23 away from Las Vegas. They get outscored by an average of 3.4 to 3.2 on the road. The Stars outscore teams by a 3.7 to 3.0 average at home. They've been the better team this year and this series. They will seize control with their 3rd straight win!
04-30-24 | Maple Leafs v. Bruins -160 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -160 | 12 h 45 m | Show |
Up 3-1, the Boston Bruins will close out the series tonight. Last year, Boston was up 3-1 on Florida and ended up losing the series. This year, they will not let the same thing happen. They know they can't give the Maple Leafs any hope and will make sure to close the deal now. Coach Jim Montgomery said: "We've got to match their desperation. We talked about urgency with the group this year, about how we need to get better. ... I think the experience of last year helps us this year, but we haven't talked about it." Boston has been the better team all series. The Leafs big guns have been held to 1 goal each and the Bruins have a 14-7 edge in total goals for the series. Matthews didn't finish the last game for Toronto and is questionable. The Bruins have also had the Leafs number for a lot longer than just this series. They're 9-1 the past 10 meetings. Punch their ticket to the next round!
04-28-24 | Rangers v. Capitals OVER 5.5 | Top | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 13 h 55 m | Show |
The Capitals are very likely done in this series. They know it. They will still put up a good fight but their depleted group of defensemen won't be able to stop the potent Rangers attack. New York has scored 3 or more goals in every game, more than 3 in 2 of the games. The Rangers are deadly on the power-play and they're even dangerous when killing penalties. There may be some extra penalties too, as the Capitals are out for revenge from a big hit that injured one of their players. Washington has yet to get any production from Ovechkin, one of the best goal scorers the game has seen. Don't be surprised when he finally makes an appearance in the boxscore. Also, the Capitals will pull their goalie extra early, should they find themselves trailing. Go with the Over!
04-26-24 | Jets v. Avalanche UNDER 6.5 | Top | 2-6 | Loss | -107 | 10 h 36 m | Show |
You likely saw what happened in the first 2 games. They both sailed over the total. Tonight, we work with a very high total of 6.5. We don't even have to lay heavy juice to get it. Winnipeg is 15-9-3 to the under when playing in a road game where where the total is 6 or more. The Jets only allow 2.5 goals a game on the road. The Avalanche concede just 2.7 goals per game at home. The goal scoring barrage comes to an end tonight. Go with the Under.
04-26-24 | Jets v. Avalanche -163 | Top | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 10 h 31 m | Show |
The Jets seemed like they'd never lose there for awhile but the Avalanche ended their winning streak in Game 2. The magic of the winning streak is now over. Worse, the Jets are now away from the comforts of Winnipeg. Instead, they are in hostile Colorado where the Avalanche have a 31-10 record. When their backs against the wall, the Avalanche responded with a big win in Game 2. This is a playoff-tested team. The Game 2 win gave them control of home ice advantage in the series and they're not about to just relinquish that. The Avalanche outscore teams by 2.2 goals per game here. This is a pivotal game and they will not be denied!
04-24-24 | Golden Knights v. Stars -157 | 3-1 | Loss | -157 | 11 h 55 m | Show
The Golden Knights won Game 1. If you watched the game, you know that they were rather fortunate. Trying to erase an early deficit, the Stars came at the Knights with everything they had. Dallas would finish with a 30-15 edge in shots on goal! The Stars are 25-14 in a home game where the total is 6 or more. The Knights are 14-21 (-12.4) in a road game where the total is 6 or more. The Stars are also 8-3 their last 11 tries, when trailing in a playoff series. There will be no stopping them tonight!
04-23-24 | Avalanche v. Jets UNDER 6.5 | Top | 5-2 | Loss | -120 | 10 h 6 m | Show |
Game 1 got out of hand. A 7-6 final. Hockey playoffs are funny though. You can have a game like that and see the next one play out completely differently. The benefit of that Game 1 result is that the Game 2 total is now jacked right up. The Avalanche are 2-0 to the under the past 2 years when trailing in a playoff series. The Avalanche are 20-10 to the under their last 30 tries when playing with revenge. The Jets are 11-7 to the under after allowing 4 goals or more. The Avalanche still allow just 3.1 goals per game and the Jets still allow a measly 2.5 goals per game, 2.2 gpg over their last 5. Go with the Under!
04-22-24 | Kings v. Oilers -160 | 4-7 | Win | 100 | 15 h 42 m | Show
The Kings are a good team but they are running into a great team. Since their atrocious start, the Oilers have been the best team in hockey. The Oilers are 6-1 the last 7 head-to-head meetings with the Kings. The last 2 both went Edmonton's way with scores of 4-1 and 4-2. The Oilers have won the past 4 meetings in Edmonton. The Oilers have knocked the Kings out of the playoffs 2 years in a row. Some will say that its hard to eliminate the same team 3 straight times. I would counter that argument by saying that its hard to beat your nemesis. The Oilers are on a mission to win the Cup this year and they know the importance of getting off to a winning start. Connor McDavid said: “There should be no surprises here." There won't be. Not in Game 1, at least!
04-21-24 | Lightning +1.5 v. Panthers | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 5 h 24 m | Show
Tampa could easily win this game. I've got it as a coin-flip. So, if you're inclined to do so, you might consider a small amount on the money-line. I'm taking the +1.5 goal option on the puck-line though as this game has OVERTIME written all over it. The Lightning have loads of playoff experience. They've eliminated the Panthers in 2 of the last 3 postseasons, going 8-2 in the process. They won Game 1 in both cases, one of those was 1-goal game. They enter this series off a 6-4 win over the Maple Leafs. They won 5-3 here the last time that these teams met. Tampa goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy is 50-27 in the playoffs and he has two Stanley Cup titles. Grab the +1.5 goals!
04-20-24 | Maple Leafs v. Bruins UNDER 6 | 1-5 | Push | 0 | 12 h 13 m | Show
Playoff hockey brings playoff level defense. Games tend to be lower-scoring. Recent games between these Original Six rivals have also shown a tendency to be low scoring. The last 2 meetings have had identical 4-1 scores. Four of the past 5 meetings have finished with 5 or fewer goals. Toronto is one of the highest scoring teams in the league and everyone knows about Matthews' big season. Boston is one of the best defensive teams though and this is a very high total. The Leafs only managed 2 combined goals the last 2 games and Matthews was held without a goal in each of those games. Go with the Under!
04-20-24 | Islanders +1.5 v. Hurricanes | 1-3 | Loss | -140 | 9 h 4 m | Show
If you're a hockey fan, you'll probably remember these teams meeting in the first round of last year's playoffs. The Islanders limped into last year's playoffs but they still gave Carolina a good fight. Four of the 6 games were decided by 1 goal and 2 of the games went to Overtime. This year, the Islanders enter the playoffs on a winning run and feeling good about themselves. They know what to expect and are going to be ready for a battle. The past 6 meetings in Raleigh had scores of 5-4, 5-4, 3-2, 4-3, 4-3 and 2-1. Did you notice what all the games had in common? Of course, you did. They are all 1-goal games. The Islanders won the last 3 of those games here. Grab the +1.5 goals with the Islanders on the Puck-Line!
04-17-24 | Oilers v. Coyotes +1.5 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 11 h 23 m | Show
The Oilers have much bigger games ahead. For the Arizona Coyotes, there will never be a bigger game. In case you haven't heard, the Coyotes are expected to leave the desert for greener pastures of Salt Lake City. This game marks the end of an era in Phoenix and the Coyotes want to go out on top. Arizona has won 4 of its final 6 games. "We want to play our last game with class, with respect and give the best effort that crowd can expect," Coyotes coach Andre Tourigny said after Tuesday's practice. "We want to make sure we are remembered as a group who fought with every last ounce we have in our body." Arizona is off a 1-goal loss and 3 of the past 4 meetings have been 1-goal games. Edmonton plays Colorado tomorrow. Play the Coyotes on the puck-line!
04-16-24 | Capitals v. Flyers -148 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -148 | 10 h 59 m | Show |
The Flyers weren't given much hope at the beginning of the season. They played better than expected, gained everyone's respect and appeared to be playoff bound. Then they slumped and their playoff chances took a big hit. They're giving it one last kick at the can and have won back to back games. They are at home tonight and they have had the past 2 days off. They catch Washington play8ing with 0 days rest. The Capitals have played a lot of hockey over the past 2 weeks. The last time that they played with 0 days rest, they lost by 2 goals. The Flyers need a win in regulation. They are excited again and playing their best hockey. They are 2-1 against the Capitals this season. With Washington off last night's upset win, the Flyers will get it done tonight!
04-15-24 | Wild +1.5 v. Kings | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 12 h 30 m | Show
The Kings are priced as if they need to win this game. They don't. Kings interim coach Jim Hiller said. "...we just want to be feeling good. Whether that's winning or playing well and maybe not quite getting it done, just feeling good going into the playoffs." The Kings rested Kopitar last game. The Wild are giving some of their young players well and they're contributing. Off a 6-2 win last game, they've got some excitement generated going into tonight's game. The Kings have humiliated them this season and they will have something to say about it tonight. Take the extra +1.5 goals on the puck-line.
04-13-24 | Canadiens v. Senators -154 | Top | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 57 m | Show |
The Senators and their fans had hoped for a much better season. The players still have pride and they know that their fans still love the team. This is their home finale and they are going to go all out to get the victory. We want to leave our best effort for our fans and leave a good taste in their mouth moving forward into next year," Senators captain Brady Tkachuk said. "Create some excitement, create some energy for hopefully a big season next year. But, most importantly, for a year that's been a lot of ups and downs, just to leave on a high note with the people that have supported us through thick and thin." Ottawa is off a win at Tampa and has won 2 of 3. The Senators are 8-2 the past 10 meetings, 2-0 this season. The Canadiens are 13-33 their last 36 tries in the revenge role. They are also 19-47 their last 66 tries with home revenge. This one is all Ottawa! **ATLANTIC DIV GOM**
04-13-24 | Jets v. Avalanche -148 | 7-0 | Loss | -148 | 7 h 2 m | Show
The Jets were able to win at Dallas but they're not winning here at Colorado. The Avalanche are 30-9 on home ice. Winnipeg is 7-8 its last 15 off a shutout win. The Jets are also 16-23 (-11) their last 39 tries, after playing 3 or more consecutive road games. The Avalanche are 15-7 their last 22, when playing with 3 or more days rest. They are also 19-8 their last 27 tries when playing with revenge. The Jets have beaten them in both meetings but the Avalanche won't permit the season sweep. Go with Colorado!
04-11-24 | Jets v. Stars -143 | Top | 3-0 | Loss | -143 | 11 h 49 m | Show |
The Dallas Stars are the best team in hockey's Western Conference this season and they are on a mission to lock down first place. They can do that with a win tonight. The Jets are battling for a chance to have home ice advantage in the first round. They have an even bigger game against Colorado coming up Saturday though. That's the one they really need and will be getting excited about. The Jets are 6-8 their last 14 tries, when playing against a team with a winning record. They are 24-38 (-14) their last 62 tries, when playing against a team with a winning record in the second half of the season. Both teams have excellent goalies but Dallas has better scorers. The Jets score 2.9 goals per game on the road. The Stars score 3.9 goals per game at home. Dallas goalie Oettinger is 8-0-0 with a pair of shutouts his last 8 starts. He has posted a 1.63 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage in those games. Go with Dallas!
04-09-24 | Coyotes v. Seattle Kraken -140 | 0-5 | Win | 100 | 11 h 59 m | Show
Both teams are playing surprisingly well at the moment. If they'd done more of that earlier in the season, they might be getting ready for the playoffs. Instead, they are playing for pride. Arizona has won both games this season. Each was tied after regulation time. One finished in Overtime and the other was decided in a shootout. Both those games were at Tempe, Arizona though. Now the Kraken get to host the Coyotes. Seattle is 32-17 (+10.8) when playing against a team with a losing record in the second half of the season. Winners of 4 of their last 6, the Kraken will have their revenge!
04-06-24 | Oilers v. Flames +1.5 | 4-2 | Loss | -165 | 12 h 22 m | Show
The Battle of Alberta is always a big deal for both teams. Tonight's game may mean more to Calgary though. Edmonton won big again last night, an impressive 6-2 win over Colorado. That was a big game against an elite opponents and the Oilers also have big playoff games ahead of them. For the Flames, this is as big as it gets. They will be fired up! The Oilers aren't nearly as good on the road as they are at Edmonton. They lost their last road game 5-0 and their previous one was a 1-goal win. They've only been mediocre when playing with 0 days rest, 14-13 their last 27. Last time in a back-to-back saw them lost 5-3 at Ottawa. The Flames beat the Oilers 6-3 in the last meeting and they are going to bring it again tonight. Go with Calgary on the puck-line.
04-05-24 | Seattle Kraken v. Ducks +1.5 | 3-1 | Loss | -170 | 11 h 3 m | Show
Seattle has no business being favored by this much on the road right now. The Kraken are off a 5-2 loss. They are 3-10 their last 13 games. They are also 9-16 in 25 tries after allowing 4 or more goals. Now they have to go the road and win by 2 or more to beat us. Its not happening. The Ducks are feeling good about themselves as they are off a 5-3 win at Calgary, to close out their road trip. Seattle is 3-2 here all-time but all 3 victories were by 1 goal. Grab the extra +1.5 goals with Anaheim!
04-04-24 | Bruins v. Hurricanes -146 | 4-1 | Loss | -146 | 8 h 59 m | Show
I admire this Boston team and I've previously said that they're a legitimate contender to hoist the Cup. There are still opportunities to go against them though. This is one of them. Boston is just 8-7 (-6.2) its past 15 tries, when off a shutout win. Not nearly as strong a win percentage as the Bruins have when not off a shutout. The Hurricanes are 6-1 (+4.5) the past 7 times that they hosted Boston. This season, the Bruins are 21-17 on the road. Carolina is 25-13 at home. The Hurricanes are the healthier squad, Boston is dealing with some injuries. The Hurricanes are very well rested and they are 5-2 when playing with 3 or more days rest. After Carolina wins tonight, you might find me on the Bruins for next weeks rematch. For now, home ice, rest and health add up to a win for the Hurricanes!
04-02-24 | Penguins v. Devils -152 | Top | 6-3 | Loss | -152 | 7 h 50 m | Show |
Both teams are battling for the final playoff spot. The Devils are well-rested and the Penguins are coming off a road win over the Rangers last night. Advantage New Jersey. In 10 tries with 3 or more days rest, the Devils are 7-3. When off a win by 2 or more goals, the Penguins are 9-13 (-9.1). The Devils are 8-2 (+7.9) their last 10 meetings with the Penguins, 2-0 this season. The Devils are also 19-14 after allowing 4 or more goals. They fell behind Pittsburgh with the Penguins winning last night but the teams will continue to play leap-frog again tonight. **METRO DIV GOM**
04-01-24 | Kings v. Jets -110 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 3 m | Show |
Both teams need this game. The Jets need it more though as they are stuck in a losing streak. It needs to be stopped today! This will mark the Jets' 4th straight home game. They are 10-1 (+8.4) after playing their previous 3 games at home. They are 30-11 (+17.8) their last 41 tries in that situation! The Kings build up their record against bad teams. They are 16-19 against teams with a winning record. They are 53-71 their last 124 tries against winning teams! OFf a loss to Calgary last game. the Los Angeles coach stated: "We were a step behind." The Jets are healthier than the Kings. Tonight they will also be better than them!
03-30-24 | Bruins -162 v. Capitals | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 11 m | Show
The Bruins are off a loss, rested and playing with revenge. Bad news for Washington! Boston is 29-11 the last 40 tries, when playing with 2 days rest. The Bruins are also 51-26 (+17) when playing with revenge. Boston is also 23-8 (+12.2) the last 31 tries, after scoring 1 goal or less in their previous game. The Bruins weren't pleased with their effort in the 3-0 loss to Washington in February. With that win, the Capitals are still only 17-23 when playing against a team with a winning record. They were outshot 48-24 in a 5-1 loss last game. The Capitals have a minus-30 goal differential this season. They won't be ready for the angry Bruins!
03-28-24 | Blackhawks +1.5 v. Senators | 0-2 | Loss | -145 | 11 h 52 m | Show
Ottawa is off a win at Buffalo last night. Now the Senators are playing with 0 days rest. That's not a good look for the Senators. They are 1-4 their past 5 tries, when playing the second of back-to-back games. They are 2-8 their last 10 tries with no rest. Despite their poor record with no rest, the Senators are now required to win by 2 or more goals to beat us. That's not going to be easy, as Chicago is playing its best hockey. Anton Forsberg should start in goal for Ottawa as Joonas Korpisalo played last night against the Sabres. Forsberg has made one start against the Blackhawks and it resulted in a 6-3 loss. The Senators might also be down an important player as defenseman Thomas Chabot left early in the third period of last night's game. The Blackhawks have won 2 games in a row and 3 of their last 5. They are 6-4 their last 10 games. The Hawks are 10-0 their last 10 games against the Senators. This season's game was decided by 1 goal. The last time the teams played in Ottawa, the game went to Overtime. Grab the +1.5 goals with visitors on the puck-line!
03-27-24 | Bruins v. Lightning -104 | Top | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 15 m | Show |
The Bruins are one of the best teams in hockey. They could even hoist the Cup this year. They're not very good when playing 2 games in 2 days though. Off a win over the Panthers last night, they will not be able to complete the state of Florida sweep tonight. Boston is only 4-6 when playing with 0 days rest. The Lightning, 7-2 in March and 6-1 their last 7, come in well-rested. They had the last 2 nights off. They have taken 2 of 3 meetings against the Bruins this season, winning 5-4 here at Tampa. They are playing great and they will be fresh. Let's go Lightning!
03-26-24 | Devils v. Maple Leafs -134 | Top | 6-3 | Loss | -134 | 9 h 48 m | Show |
This is a great price on Toronto. The Maple Leafs are off a loss to Carolina, a top level opponent. They will be angry and fired when they encounter a weaker New Jersey club. Toronto is 8-2 (+5.2) their last 10 tries, when playing against a team with a losing record. The Maple Leafs are also 9-1 the last 10 meetings with the Devils. The Devils are off a 4-0 victory but they are an atrocious 25-47 (-36.6) their last 72 tries, after a win by 2 goals or more. This season, they are 4-17 (-20.4) when off a win by 2 or more goals! Give me the better team on home ice!
03-25-24 | Golden Knights -145 v. Blues | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 7 h 22 m | Show
The road team has won both meetings this season. This should result in another victory for the road team! Vegas is 3-1 its last 4 visits here. The Blues are only 11-13, after scoring 4 goals or more in their previous game. The Knights are 14-9 after a win by 2 goals or more. They are 48-36 in that spot the last 2 seasons. The Blues average 2.9 goals a game. The Knights average 3.2 goals per game. The Knights average more than 31 shots per game. The Blues average 28. The Knights are off a dominant effort where they outshot their opponent 47-22. The advantages add up to a Vegas win!
03-23-24 | Bruins -142 v. Flyers | 2-3 | Loss | -142 | 6 h 36 m | Show
The Flyers haven't been able to beat the Bruins. Boston has won 7 straight meetings in the series. The Bruins scored 5 or more goals in each of the last 4 of those wins. The Flyers simply cannot keep up. Off a loss, Boston will respond with a high level effort. From Boston's Jacob De Brusk: "We need a response. Nobody's happy in this room." The Flyers continue to contend with many injuries on defense which will lead to another day filled with Boston goals. They can light the lamp but the Bruins can also beat you with defense. The last 3 times that they were off a loss, the answered by holding their next opponent to 1 goal. Let's Go Bruins!
03-22-24 | Penguins +1.5 v. Stars | 2-4 | Loss | -145 | 10 h 0 m | Show
Give me the extra +1.5 goals with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Every game and point is of critical importance for the Penguins at this time. They will fight to the end. The Dallas Stars are only 17-19 their last 36 tries after playing 3 consecutive home games. Now they have to win by more than a goal! Pittsburgh's last visit here was one year ago, on March 23, 2023. The final score was 3-2 for Dallas, the extra +1.5 goals coming into play. Four of the past 5 meetings have been decided by 1 goal. Only 1 of the past 10 h2h meetings has resulted in a Dallas win of more than 1 goal. Play the Penguins on the puck-line.
03-21-24 | Rangers v. Bruins -133 | 5-2 | Loss | -133 | 12 h 41 m | Show
An Original 6 showdown is always exciting. When it features 2 of the top teams in the league, its extra enticing. Playing at home, the Bruins will have the edge. The Bruins are rolling. They have won 6 of 8 and they have scored 5 or more goals in 3 of their last 5 games. They are off a 6-2 victory. The Rangers are playing without top-four defensemen Ryan Lindgren and without their captain Jacob Trouba. They were missed in a loss to the Jets on Tuesday. Their absences will be noticeable again tonight. The Bruins won all 4 games against the Rangers last season but are 0-2 in this season's first 2 games. Playing with 2x revenge, they won't let the Rangers beat them 3x in a row. The Bruins were better last game and have hit their stride. Go with the Bruins!
03-20-24 | Maple Leafs -130 v. Capitals | 7-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 9 m | Show
The Maple Leafs are off consecutive losses. This is a Toronto team which rarely loses 4 in a row. The Maple Leafs are 22-15 the past 37 tries, when playing on back-to-back days. They are 60-37 in same time frame after allowing 4 goals or more and 64-44 against losing teams. They are 7-2 their last 9 against losing teams. The Capitals are off 3 straight wins. They rarely win 4 in a row. They are 2-4 in 6 tries, after 3 straight victories. Washington is playing its first game back home from a road trip. The Capitals are 12-19 their last 31 tries, after playing 3 or more consecutive road games. They are also 50-72 against teams with a winning record. Go with the better team. Take Toronto.
03-19-24 | Blue Jackets v. Red Wings -160 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 24 m | Show |
The Red Wings need a victory and Columbus is the right opponent to get one against. Detroit is already 2-0 against the Blue Jackets this season. The Blue Jackets have been bad all year and they have lost 4 of their last 5. They have many injuries and nothing to play for. The Red Wings are still waiting for the return of Dylan Larkin but otherwise are quite healthy. This is a game which they cannot afford to lose. The Red Wings lost last game but that was on the road and they were playing with 0 days rest. They have been much stronger at home all season and they won their last game here 4-1. This game will be all Detroit!
03-17-24 | Devils v. Golden Knights -163 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 5 h 37 m | Show
Strong situational spot for the Vegas Golden Knights here. Vegas is rested as the Knights had Friday and Saturday night off. The Devils played yesterday. The Knights have some injuries but the Devils injuries are worse. New Jersey is 2-10 when playing with 0 rest! The Knights play with revenge and they are 17-8 their last 25 tries, revenging a loss versus opponent. They are 62-30 (+30) their last 92 in the revenge role! Knights are also 9-3 after scoring 1 goal or less in their previous game. This game will be all Vegas!
03-13-24 | Kings -152 v. Blues | 1-3 | Loss | -152 | 11 h 33 m | Show
The Los Angeles Kings are better on the road than they are on at home. The Blues beat them here in Overtime earlier this season but the Kings had won the previous 5 meetings. The Blues are off an impressive upset victory at Boston. They are only 9-12 after scoring 4 goals or more in their previous game though and this will be their first game home from a long road trip. That's not going to be easy. The Kings are 8-5 their last 13 tries off a shutout win and they will make it 9-5 after tonight.
03-10-24 | Coyotes -175 v. Blackhawks | Top | 4-7 | Loss | -175 | 7 h 24 m | Show |
Chicago has no home ice advantage. The Blackhawks are also at a scheduling disadvantage. They lost at Washington yesterday. The Hawks are 2-8, when playing on back-to-back days. They are 7-30 (-14) with 0 days rest, for the last 3 years. Over that time, they are 15-58 (-35.2) versus division opponents. Arizona hasn't quit fighting. The Coyotes beat Detroit 4-0 last game and have won 3 of their last 5. They will be playing with revenge as the Hawks beat them less than a week ago, at Arizona. They will be determined not to lose 2 in a row to the worst team in the league and they won't! Coyotes win and improve to 15-12 against losing teams. *CENTRAL DIV GOM
03-08-24 | Red Wings -130 v. Coyotes | 0-4 | Loss | -130 | 13 h 31 m | Show
Detroit needs a win and this is the right time and place to get it! The Red Wings are 3-1 (+2.6) after 3 or more consecutive losses. The Red Wings are 8-6 after a loss by 2 goals or more in their previous game. The Wings are also 13-9 when playing against a team with a losing record. The Wings had yesterday off. The Coyotes are off a loss to Minnesota. They are 12-25 their last 37 tries, when playing on back-to-back days. The Coyotes are now 6-22 in the second half of the season. The Red Wings are 31-19 their last 50 visits here. They will snap their losing streak tonight.
03-07-24 | Blues v. Devils -175 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 31 m | Show
The Devils couldn't get there in their first game under their new interim coach. They were playing the Florida Panthers though and the Panthers are one of the best and hottest teams in hockey. Today's matchup against the St. Louis Blues is far more favorable. The Blues only score 2.5 goals per game when they play on the road. They allow 3.2 That's exactly how many (3.2) goals that the Devils score at home. The Devils are a perfect 3-0 this season, when off 3 consecutive losses. They won by scores of 3-2, 5-2 and 7-2. Look for them to limit the Blues scoring opportunities and for them to win their first game of the post-Ruff era.
03-06-24 | Senators -150 v. Ducks | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -150 | 12 h 9 m | Show |
Different teams react differently to different amounts of days in between games. Many teams struggle with no rest. Others thrive. Some are at their best with 1 or 2 days rest, others do better with 3 or more. The Ducks have had the past 2 days off and that is NOT a favorable situation for them. Anaheim is 0-7 this season with 2 days rest in between games. Over the past 3 seasons, the Ducks are 10-36 (-24.8) with 2 days rest. Over that time, Anaheim is also 15-44 after scoring 1 goal or less in its previous game. The Senators, 4-3 with 3 or more days rest, play with revenge from a home loss to the Ducks. They are 27-18 their last 45 when playing against a team with a losing record in the second half of the season and they will get it done for us tonight!
03-05-24 | Blues v. Islanders -167 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 42 m | Show
The NY Islanders are playing some of their best hockey right now. They have won 3 straight games, beating Dallas, Detroit and Boston. After tonight's game, they will embark on a West Coast road trip. That makes winning 4 straight imperative, as every point is precious right now. The Blues did the Islanders a small favor last night as they beat the Flyers. (Philadelphia did get 1 point.) That means the Blues are playing 2 games in 2 days though. They lost 3-2 when they were in that situation last week. With the win over Boston, the Islanders are now 19-11 their last 30 games played in the month of March. Playing with 2 days rest, they will have more life in their legs than the Blues tonight. Expect them to avenge a 4-0 loss at St. Louis from a few weeks back.
03-04-24 | Golden Knights -171 v. Blue Jackets | 3-6 | Loss | -171 | 13 h 33 m | Show
Some might think that Columbus is catching the defending champion Golden Knights at the right time. I beg to differ. Off their most lopsided loss of the season and playing the final game of a disappointing road trip, the Knights will be entirely serious about returning to form on Monday. Columbus is a great place to get back on track The Blue Jackets have the fewest points (50) in the Eastern Conference and they have only 10 wins in their 30 home games. Though the Blue Jackets are off a win, it came against Chicago, the worst team in the league. They won't be ready for the intensity which the Knights are going to bring to the table. The Knights won 7-2 the last time these teams played. They were laying -325 for that game. This price is expensive but not nearly so much as that. Lay the price as the Knights will not be denied.
03-03-24 | Devils v. Kings -118 | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 6 h 24 m | Show
Having won the first meeting on the road, Los Angeles holds the advantage back at home this time. The Kings crushed the Canucks last game and will look to build on that today. Playing better, they're now 7-4 under their new coach. New Jersey has had injury problems throughout the year. The Devils haven't been consistent whatsoever. LA's Drew Doughty on the win over Vancouver: "We played great right from the puck drop. I was so proud and so happy with our team's performance tonight. Every single player played well. There wasn't one dog out there and that's why we won." Even while having 55 shots on the goal, the Devils lost to the Ducks in their last game. That should take some confidence away from a team that is already lacking that aspect. The Kings are back at home, where they look to improve as we near the end of the season. New Jersey is 2-5 in their last seven games played away from home. Los Angeles wins this game today and makes it 2-0 in the season series.
03-02-24 | Avalanche -127 v. Predators | Top | 1-5 | Loss | -127 | 10 h 17 m | Show |
The Predators are really hot at the moment. They've been beating up on bad teams though. Some of their recent wins came against teams like Ottawa, San Jose and Anaheim. Now, they will take on the one of the best in the league. Also, many of the Predators recent wins have come on the road. They are rather rare in that they are stronger on the road than at home. The Predators did beat the Avalanche in this season's first meeting. Colorado has won its past few visits here though. Also, the Avalanche are 15-5 (+8.4) their last 20 in the revenge role, 53-25 (+10.6) over the long haul. The Avalanche won their last game 5-0 after winning their previous one 5-1. They are 12-5 their past 17 tries off a shutout win and they'll get it done for us again today! **Central GOM**
03-01-24 | Flyers -112 v. Capitals | Top | 2-5 | Loss | -112 | 10 h 33 m | Show |
Both these Metro Division rivals have struggled a bit of late. The Flyers are 2-4 their last 6 games. The Capitals are 1-2 their last 3. The Flyers are off a big 6-2 win though and the Capitals are off a big 8-3 defeat. Both are battling for the playoffs. I've of the strong opinion that Philadelphia will make it two in a row. The Flyers have been better than Washington this season. An ability to play well on the road has been key. The Flyers outscore teams by a 3.2 to 2.8 average in their road games. The Capitals get outscored by an average of 3.0 to 2.7 at home. Each team has had 2 days off, a scheduling setup which should favor the Flyers. Philadelphia is 25-20 (+11.9) its last 45 tries, when playing with 2 days rest. Washington is 18-21 (-7.1) when doing so. The Flyers are 3-0 against the Capitals since the start of 2023. With home ice no advantage and with Washington dealing with numerous injuries, Philadelphia is the winner. *Metro Div GOM*
02-29-24 | Golden Knights v. Bruins -151 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 7 h 16 m | Show
The Boston Bruins are too good to keep losing. Vegas is 14-15 on the road. Boston is 18-12 at home. Though they managed a win at Toronto, the Golden Knights are only 12-13 against Eastern Conference teams. Now they will take on the giants of the East, a Boston team angry at them for an earlier loss in Las Vegas. The Bruins have had an extra days rest than the Knights. They also have a much smaller injury list. The Bruins are at home and they are motivated. They rarely lose 4 in a row. This one will go their way.
02-26-24 | Islanders v. Stars -160 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -160 | 11 h 50 m | Show |
The wheels have come off for the Islanders. They are 23-34 overall, 10-18 on the road. A dismal 7-17 (-15.3) record against Western Conference opposition hasn't helped their cause. Now, they play on the road against one of the best teams from the West. That spells trouble. The Stars are 17-11 at home. They score more than 4 goals per game here. The Islanders score less than 3 per game on the road. The Stars won their last game but had lost several before that. They will be inspired to make it 2 in a row and they will also be playing with revenge from a loss at Long Island. Dallas wins big.
02-24-24 | Wild v. Seattle Kraken -131 | Top | 5-2 | Loss | -131 | 12 h 20 m | Show |
The Wild visited here on December 10th, the last time that these teams faced each other. At the time, the Kraken were off to a terrible start. They'd dropped 7 straight going into the Minnesota game and they were off a loss versus Tampa the previous night. The Wild were only to happy to kick the Kraken when they were down. With Seattle playing its 2nd game in 2 days, Minnesota won 3-0. Things are different now. The Kraken just easily beat the best team in the West on Thursday, a 5-2 win over Vancouver. That was their 3rd win in 4 games and they had yesterday off. Not so for Minnesota. The Wild are off a 4-2 upset of Edmonton. They are 2-7 when playing with 0 days rest. Seattle settles the score.
02-23-24 | Sabres -130 v. Blue Jackets | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 57 m | Show
The Buffalo Sabres beat bad teams like the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Sabres are 6-2 their last 8 tries against losing teams and 26-11 (+14.1.) the last 3 years when playing against a team with a losing record in the second half of the season. The Blue Jackets are 2-14 (-11.1) after scoring 4 goals or more in their previous game. They're also 12-29 (-14.1) their last 41 tries, after a win of 2 goals or more. This will be their first game back from a trip out West. We won with the Sabres in their last game and will come right back and win with them again tonight.
02-22-24 | Panthers v. Hurricanes -112 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 32 m | Show
This is a battle of Eastern Conference heavyweights. The Panthers are very hot right now but the Hurricanes are also very hot and this is not an easy place to play. This is no ordinary game for the Hurricanes either. They lost earlier this season at Florida but this the first time that they hosted the Panthers, since Florida eliminated them in last year's playoffs. The Hurricanes have had this game circled and will have their revenge. They are 13-8 when revenging a loss versus opponent. The Hurricanes are 9-4 when playing with 2 days rest, 28-13 the last 3 years. The Hurricane are also 62-28 their last 90 home games with a total of 6 or more. It'll feel like a playoff game and the home fans will leave happy!
02-21-24 | Sabres -125 v. Canadiens | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 47 m | Show
Neither team has much of a home ice advantage and the road team has won all 3 meetings. The Canadiens won the first 2 at Buffalo but the Sabres smashed them 6-1 in the most recent game, which was here at Montreal in January. Both teams lost their last game 4-3. The Sabres are 13-8 (+10.2) after allowing 4 goals or more. The Canadiens are just 6-13 their last 19 tries, when playing with 3 or more days rest. During that time, Montreal is a dismal 18-42 when revenging a home loss and an even worse 19-48 vs. division opponents. The road team success continues in a big Buffalo win.
02-20-24 | Canucks v. Avalanche -137 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 29 m | Show
The Vancouver Canucks gave up 10 goals in a 10-7 loss at Minnesota yesterday. The Canucks are 14-18 (-6.6) their last 32 tries when playing 2 games in 2 days. The 10 goals allowed is not a good sign. The Colorado Avalanche had yesterday off after beating division rival Arizona the previous day. The Avalanche are 49-26 their last 75 tries after playing a divisional opponent and 24-10 after playing 3 or more straight overs. Colorado is also 21-5 (+12.8) in a home game where the total is 6 or more. Home ice and a scheduling advantage have me firmly backing the Avalanche.
02-20-24 | Wild v. Jets -145 | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 10 h 29 m | Show
Both teams played yesterday. The Minnesota Wild won by a football score 10-7 against the Canucks and the Winnipeg Jets lost 6-3 at Calgary. Here's where its important to know how teams do in a back-to-back situation. The Wild are 2-6 when playing with 0 days rest. The Jets are 4-0 when playing with 0 days rest. The Wild are 5-8 versus the division. The Jets are 12-4 within the division. The Wild are 10-15 when playing against a team with a winning record. The Jets are 20-8 when playing against a team with a losing record. Go with the Jets.
02-20-24 | Stars v. Rangers -140 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 29 m | Show
The Dallas Stars played an Overtime game yesterday. The Stars are 14-17 (-10.6) their last 31 tries when playing 2 games in 2 days. The NY Rangers are 6-0 this month and they've now won 7 straight. The Rangers are also 15-4 (+8.4) their last 19 tries, when playing with revenge. The Stars have suffered some injuries and the Rangers will keep on winning.
02-19-24 | Senators v. Lightning -155 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -155 | 11 h 31 m | Show |
Ottawa couldn't even beat Chicago last game, or Anaheim before that. The Senators are 32-51 (-17) the last 3 years, after a non-conference game. Over that time frame, they are also 41-61 (-16.2) in the revenge role, 8-17 (-11.2) their last 25. The Senators are 35-66 their last 101 tries, when playing against a team with a winning record. The Lightning ran into a red hot Florida team last game and suffered the consequences. They will be happy to face a bad team like Ottawa which they always beat here. Tampa is 67-30 (+14.8) its last 98 tries, when playing against a team with a losing record. Lay the price and look for Tampa to come out on top. **ATLANTIC DIV GOY**
02-17-24 | Blue Jackets -138 v. Sharks | Top | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 12 h 26 m | Show |
San Jose returns home from a road trip. The first game back is difficult. The Sharks are missing some key players. The Sharks are 23-41 (-9.1) their last 64, after scoring 4 goals or more in their previous game. The Sharks are also 9-25 their last 34 tries, after a win by 2 goals or more. The Sharks only score 2.2 goals per home game. The Blue Jackets average 3 goals per road game. The Blue Jackets scored 11 goals, including 6 here at San Jose, in sweeping last season's 2 games. They do it again tonight!
02-15-24 | Panthers v. Sabres +137 | Top | 4-0 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 26 m | Show |
Great price on the home underdog Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres just smashed the LA Kings 7-0 on Tuesday. They have scored 5 or more goals in 3 of their last 5 games. Off one of their biggest wins in years, they are feeling good about themselves and can't wait to get back on the ice. The Florida Panthers won again last night. Off 3 straight wins, they have been playing well. The problem is that they are only 13-18 (-11.2) their last 31 tries when playing with 0 days rest. The Sabres are 4-2 their past 6 tries off a shutout win. They are also 17-3-1 when scoring first in games this season and their starting goalie Luukkonen has 3 shutouts (1.60 GAA and .941 save percentage) in his last 12 games. Let's Go, Buffalo!
02-14-24 | Wild -117 v. Coyotes | Top | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 13 h 60 m | Show |
Here is a case of 2 teams going in different directions. The Minnesota Wild have won 3 in a row and 6 of their last 8. The Arizona Coyotes are 0-6 their last 6 games. With 28 goals allowed in those 6 games, at least 3 in each, the Coyotes can't keep the puck out of the net. None of Minnesota's last 7 opponents have scored more than 3 goals. The Wild have been waiting for this game and not just because Arizona is struggling. The Coyotes humiliated them 6-0 at Minnesota in January. At the time, the Wild were mired in a 1-7-1 stretch and they had just gotten Kaprizov back from injury for his first game back. Now the healthier and hotter team, the Wild will take advantage of the winnable road game and avenge last month's blowout. **CENTRAL GOY**
02-13-24 | Avalanche -165 v. Capitals | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 8 h 35 m | Show
Two struggling teams but both have a very different outlook on the rest of the season. The Washington Capitals have been losing. They are now 23-28 and they only average 2.4 goals per game. The reality that they are not a good team has started to set in. The Colorado Avalanche are too good to continue losing. They've had the past 2 days off and are facing an opponent which they can handle. The Avalanche are 19-7 (+9.1) their last 26 tries after scoring 1 goal or less. They are also 31-10 their last 41 tries when playing against a team with a losing record in the second half of the season. Over that time, the Washington Capitals are 19-36 when playing against a team with a winning record in the second half of the season. Colorado bounces back and kicks the Capitals while they're down.
02-12-24 | Coyotes v. Flyers UNDER 6 | Top | 3-5 | Loss | -112 | 8 h 31 m | Show |
These teams both have trouble scoring at times. The Coyotes average 2.8 goals per game on the road. The Flyers average 2.8 goals per game at home. This season's first meeting had three first period goals but still only finished at 4-1. The Flyers may have lost their previous starting netminder for a while but they are still getting exemplary goal-tending. They've conceded only 4 total goals thier last 3 games. None of those finished with more than 5 combined goals. Samuel Ersson has been sharp and his backup Cal Petersen came through with a strong performance when called upon last game. The surging Flyers will make scoring difficult for an Arizona team which is missing some attacking pieces. That will help keep this game under the total!
02-10-24 | Devils v. Hurricanes -155 | Top | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 48 m | Show |
The Hurricanes are an elite team. They responded to their 3-2 loss against Vancouver by hammering Colorado, one of the best teams in hockey, by a 5-2 score. They are a profitable 65-37 the last few seasons, after scoring 4 or more goals in their previous game. The Devils are missing a number of important players right now. The missing defense is leading to a lot of goals allowed. They gave up 5 goals last game. That's 28 goals allowed in their last 6 games, a minimum of 3 in each. That many goals allowed won't cut it against a Carolina club which has conceded 2 or less in 4 of its last 5 games, 3 in the other. The Hurricanes own the Devils here. They are 7-1 the last 8 meetings in Raleigh. Nothing changes today.
02-09-24 | Penguins v. Wild UNDER 6 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 7 h 53 m | Show |
The Penguins are 54-33 to the under the last few seasons, 13-10 this year, when playing on the road with a total of 6 or more. The Wild are 14-9 to the under at home, when the total was 6 or more. Both teams are playing a low-scoring brand of hockey since the All Star Break. The Penguins last 3 games, all unders, have averaged, 3.3 goals. Minnesota's last 3 games, also all unders, have averaged 4.33 goals. The Wild are now 16-8 to the under their last 24 in the month of February. Remember that Minnesota goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury played for the Penguins for many years. The under trend continues for another night!
02-08-24 | Jets -140 v. Flyers | 1-4 | Loss | -140 | 7 h 12 m | Show
The Flyers upset the Jets at Winnipeg last month. At the time, the Jets were on a franchise best 8-game winning streak. Winnipeg did manage to win its next two games but has since proceeded to lose 4 in a row. Tonight, they get a chance to get revenge against the team which got them going in the wrong direction! It's no wonder that Winnipeg struggled to score in the first game as the Jets played without leading point scorer Mark Scheifele and leading goal scorer Kyle O'Conner. They'll have both big guns in the lineup tonight. The Flyers may be at home but the Jets road record is better than their record here at Philadelphia. Though they lost the first game to the Flyers, the Jets are still a solid 13-8 against Eastern Conference opposition. Let's go Jets!
02-07-24 | Stars v. Maple Leafs -125 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 7 h 45 m | Show
Scheduling advantage for the Maple Leafs in this one. The Dallas Stars just withstood a 48-shot barrage at Buffalo last night. The Maple Leafs had the night off. The Stars are only 14-16 (-9.6) their last 30 tries, when playing 2 games in 2 days. Over that time, Dallas is also only 13-17 (-9) when off 3 or more consecutive victories. Backup Scott Wedgewood will be between the pipes for the visitors. He's not as capable of stealing a game as #1 netminder Jake Oettinger. The Leafs have dominated Dallas and Western Conference teams in general. They will get it done for us tonight.
02-06-24 | Canadiens v. Capitals -149 | Top | 5-2 | Loss | -149 | 10 h 16 m | Show |
If the playoffs started today, both these teams would be on the outside looking in. Washington still believes and expects to make a playoff push. Montreal is further back and knows its chances are bleak. The recent trade of center Sean Monahan for draft picks shows they're already thinking about the future. With Brendan Gallagher, another center, serving a suspension, the Habs are weak up the middle. The Capitals were struggling before the break but are going to be ready to go tonight. Ovechkin will lead the way. The Capitals captain commented: "Right now you can see everybody's fresh, everybody's happy to be back and Tuesday's going to be a great day to play hockey." The Capitals are 3-0 the last 3 meetings here, outscoring Montreal 18-6. They will make it 4 in a row tonight.
01-31-24 | Senators v. Red Wings UNDER 7 | Top | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 22 m | Show |
Sometimes, you need to take what the books are giving you. These teams never have totals of 7 when they play each other. A glance at the past 10 meetings reveals most 6.5s. The last meeting had a total of 6 and it finished with 6. We're getting a whole extra goal tonight. The Red Wings have allowed 2 goals or less in consecutive games and 5 of their last 7. The Senators have allowed 3 or less in 6 of their last 7. This game goes Under!
01-28-24 | Kings -145 v. Blues | 3-4 | Loss | -145 | 6 h 10 m | Show
The Blues have been finding ways to win but this represents their first game back from a trip out West. That's going to be tough. The Kings' recent struggles are going to have them fired up. They need a win and they know they have beaten the Blues 5 straight times. Los Angeles is better on the road than at home. The Kings 14 road wins is tied for 2nd most in the Western Conference. Their last 6 road games have come against Tampa, Florida, Carolina, Detroit, Dallas and Colorado. None of those are easy rinks. This isn't either but by comparison to Colorado, it'll seem so. Los Angeles will bounce back.
01-27-24 | Rangers -115 v. Senators | 7-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 31 m | Show
We get the Rangers at a reduced price because they lost to Las Vegas last night. Different teams react to back-to-back situations differently though. The Rangers are a team which happens to love playing them! Eight times the Rangers have found themselves playing 2 games in two days. They won by scores of 7-4, 6-5, 4-1, 2-1, 4-3, 5-1, 2-1 and 5-2. The Rangers are also 13-4 when playing with revenge. Ottawa beat them 6-2 last month and they return the favor today!
01-26-24 | Blues v. Seattle Kraken -163 | 4-3 | Loss | -163 | 11 h 33 m | Show
The Blues beat the Kraken at St. Louis back in the fall. The Blues aren't as strong on the road though. They only score 2.4 goals in games away from St. Louis. They have already won the first two games of this trip and now be thinking about returning home. The Kraken just ended a losing streak last game. A streaky team, they've got their mojo back. They beat the Blues 5-2 the last time that the teams met in the Emerald City. They will make it 2 in a row and get revenge from the October loss.
01-25-24 | Devils v. Hurricanes -154 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 22 m | Show |
Here's a situation where Carolina playing 2 games in 2 days works in our favor. If the Hurricanes were not in that situation, they would be laying a far greater price. Can they win 2 games in 2 days? Absolutely. They just beat a much better team last night. They won't squander that by giving away a winnable game against an opponent which they dominate here. The Hurricanes may be playing 2 games in 2 days but they are on home ice and they are far healthier than the Devils. They had 2 days off before yesterday's game. They are 54-28 (+10.9) in divisional games the last few seasons and they are 6-1 their last 7 home games against the Devils. Let's go Hurricanes!
01-23-24 | Sabres -159 v. Ducks | 2-4 | Loss | -159 | 10 h 19 m | Show
Though both teams lost by more than one goal last game, Buffalo is currently in far better form. The Sabres fell 3-1 and the Ducks were on the wrong side of a 5-2 loss. The Sabres previous two games had both resulted in 3-0 victories. They are 5-3 their last 8. The Ducks have dropped 3 straight and 2-10 their last 12. The Sabres beat the Ducks 6-3 and 7-3 last year. They were favored by -225 and -280. The Ducks are perhaps in worse form now than they were then. The Ducks are 5-14 off a loss of 2 or more goals. The Sabres are 9-6 off a loss by 2 or more. The Sabres will take this one to improve to 23-9 their last 32 against teams with losing records in the 2nd half of the season.
01-22-24 | Penguins -145 v. Coyotes | 2-5 | Loss | -145 | 9 h 7 m | Show
Off a loss at Vegas on Saturday, the Penguins will find things easier tonight at Arizona. The Coyotes are dealing with many injuries. They are 3-6 in 2024. The Penguins won 4-2 as a -195 home favorite against the Coyotes last month. The price is far more reasonable now because the Penguins are on the road. That's giving us value given that the Penguins have dominated the Coyotes, regardless of venue. Revenge may be a nice thought for the Coyotes but its hardly a motivator. They are 42-82 their last 124 tries in the revenge role. Pittsburgh continues its recent series dominance with a big win on Monday night.
01-20-24 | Stars -130 v. Devils | Top | 6-2 | Win | 100 | 13 h 52 m | Show |
We won with the Devils last night. It was a favorable matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets. At the time, I mentioned that Columbus was only 2-10 after scoring 4 or more goals though, 20-52 (-24.4) in that situation the last few seasons. This is a far more difficult matchup. I didn't mind backing the Devils on the road last night because they are actually much better away from NJ. I mentioned that they'd been -240 when they hosted Columbus but that the price was much lower due to the game being on the road. This time, it works the other way. We're able to get Dallas, a better team which is rested, at a bargain price compared to what the price would be, if the Stars were hosting. For the record, the Devils are 14-7-1 on the road but 9-10-2 at home. The Devils are 0-5 the last 5 times that they played 2 games in two nights. You'd be 5-0 if playing against them each time they were in that situation since the start of December. They gave up 6, 5, 5, 4 and 6 goals in those game. Road team won both games last season. Rested and off a loss, the Stars will bounce back and take this one.
01-19-24 | Devils -150 v. Blue Jackets | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 28 m | Show
The Devils are 7-5 against divisional opponents. The Blue Jackets are 3-11 within division play. The Blue Jackets upset Vancouver 4-3 last game as they were catching the Canucks in a difficult spot. Columbus is only 2-10 after scoring 4 or more goals though, 20-52 (-24.4) in that situation the last few seasons. The Devils won 6-3 here last month and were laying -240 at the time. In comparison, this price is a bargain. Devils will win again.
01-18-24 | Avalanche v. Bruins UNDER 6.5 | 2-5 | Loss | -118 | 8 h 24 m | Show
The Avalanche are 3-0 to the over on their current road trip. That changes tonight as they are now facing one of the stingiest teams in the National Hockey League. The Bruins are off a 3-0 shutout last game and they allow only 2.63 goals per game. The Avalanche are 3-0 to the under after playing their previous 3 on the road. They are also 9-4-3 5 to the under their last 16 visits to Boston. The Bruins are 40-26-7 to the under their last 63 home games when the total was 6 or more. Go with the Under.
01-17-24 | Red Wings +1.5 v. Panthers | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 45 m | Show
Give me the extra +1.5 goals on the puck-line with the red hot Detroit Red Wings. The Wings have won back-to-back games and 5 of their last 6. The only loss was by 1 goal. The Panthers recently had a long winning streak. That's over and they've now lost consecutive games. Over the last week, they've had 2 losses and a 1-goal win. Well-rested and playing with revenge, the Red Wings will stay hot.
01-16-24 | Sharks v. Blackhawks OVER 5.5 | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 22 m | Show |
Two really bad teams. Do they even want to win? If so, who wants it more? In my estimation, its better not to lose sleep over the side and instead to focus on the total. These teams are bad in no small part to their defense. The Sharks give up 4.05 goals per game. That's the most in entire NHL and the number climbs to 4.3 goals allowed per road game. The Blackhawks aren't far behind. They allow 3.65 goals per game, 4th worst in the NHL. The last 3 meetings all finished with 7 goals. This one finishes with 6 or more, the over moving to 7-3 the past 10 times that Chicago played with 2 day's rest in between games.
01-15-24 | Devils v. Bruins -163 | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 3 h 28 m | Show
Anytime you can get the Bruins for this price, at home, you have to take a second look. A second looks shows that the should handle the Devils, as per usual. The Bruins are 7-1 in eight meetings the last few seasons, 4-0 here at Boston. After losing 3 in a row, the Bruins won at St. Louis in their last game. They will be determined not to return to losing. They are 55-24 (+17.5) when off a game versus a Western Conf. opponent. With the Devils only 2-8 when coming off a win by 2 or more goals, Boston makes it 2 in a row.
01-13-24 | Bruins -160 v. Blues | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 48 m | Show
The Bruins are too good a team to go on long losing streaks. When they lose a few in a row, they make it right. They're 5-1 the past few seasons, after having lost their previous 3 games. During that period, they are also 18-6 (+10.4) after scoring 1 or fewer goals in their previous game. The Blues are 37-40 (-8) in non-conf. games the last few years. The Bruins are 54-26 in non-conf. action. They took both meetings last season and they'll finish on top again today.
01-12-24 | Predators v. Stars -164 | 6-3 | Loss | -164 | 9 h 20 m | Show
The Stars lost 3 straight 1-goal games to ring in 2024. The 3rd of those came against the Predators. Off back to back wins, they have since turned the corner. The Stars won those games by a score of 11-2. Now they will settle the score with Nashville. The Predators are only 2-7 (-6.8) when playing with 2 day's rest. Even considering last week's loss, the Stars are 46-27 their last 73, against divisional opponents. They score more than 4 goals a game on home ice and won't be beaten by the Predators twice in here less than a week. Lay the price with the Stars. |
