San Francisco won it’s first game beating the Rams 28-0 behind a solid defense that only gave up 185 total yards and QB Gabbert who led a balanced offense that ran for 150 yards while he passed for 170 yards and threw for a TD. They faced a tougher opponent in their second game with Carolina and there was a different outcome. They stuck close in the first half and were only down 17-10 at halftime even though they let Carolina score a TD on Hyde’s fumble. They forced four TO’s themselves but could only get 13 points off of them. Other than the TO’s their defense didn’t do much else giving up over 350 passing yards and over 170 rushing yards with Gabbert throwing two picks in the fourth quarter. Everyone is asking the same question– what happened to Seattle’s offense? They scored 12 points in their first game against Miami getting just over 350 total yards of offense and one TD and that was scored with just 31 seconds left in the game to avoid a defeat. Last week they couldn’t even score a TD and won the game kicking three FG’s. They didn’t even get 300 yards of offense and rushed for just 64 yards. The oddsmakers have set this game with Seattle a 10.5 point favorite and a total of 41 and considering how Seattle’s offense has performed 62% of the public are backing the 49ers and 61% are behind the under according to Covers.com consensus and analysis and i can’t say that I blame them. the winning team has scored 23 points or less in seven of the last 10 meetings between these teams.
