USC Trojans vs. Stanford Cardinal Betting Preview September 17, 2016

A college football rivalry that started in 1905 continues when Stanford hosts USC on Saturday. The Trojans were trounced by Alabama 52-6 in their first game but bounced back to beat up Utah St last week. Their offense got over 400 yards in that game while their defense held the Utes to 49 rushing yards and 13 first downs. Stanford had last week off after their opening week win against Kansas St where they were outgained in total yards and outscored in the second half but held on for the win.

The odds makers opened this game with Stanford -6.5  but it has since been bet up as high as -9 with the backing of over 62% of the public while the total opened at 53. Stanford has had the upper hand winning seven of their last 10 games with USC while winning the PAC 12 title three times in the last five years. This could be a spot for a revenge play as Stanford beat USC twice last year. Both of these teams can score and the two have combined for more than 60 points in six of the last 10 meetings.
