This year they have just one loss and are again in position to reach the final game if they can beat Virginia Tech and win the ACC Championship. They are ranked third in the country and a win will guarantee them being one of the final four teams to be chosen. Their only blemish is a one point loss to Pittsburgh in week 11. They are led by sixth ranked quarterback Deshaun Watson who has passed for over 3600 yards and thrown 34 touchdowns on a team that averages over 500 yards and 40 points a game. They have a good defense as well which is ranked 9th allowing just 308 yards and 17 points a game which is good for eighth in the country.

The Hokies have won five of their last six games scoring at least 34 points in four of those games which is their season average. Their defense is their key as they have won every game they held an opponent below 30 points with their average points allowed at 21 a game.

The oddsmakers have made the Tigers a 10 point favorite and have the total at 58. According to Covers.com Consensus Analysis 55% of the public believe Clemson will have a big day and are backing the Tigers while 67% feel the total will go over even though it has gone under in six of their last seven meetings.

The winning team has won by double digits the last 10 games they have faced each other with Clemson winning the last three games.
