The Badgers schedule doesn’t seem to be getting any easier. After losing to Ohio State at home last week in overtime and playing both Michigan and Michigan State on the road the previous two weeks, they now play Iowa on the road. They are coming off back-to-back 7-point losses to #4 Michigan and #2 Ohio State.
Iowa slammed Purdue last week by a score of 49-35, and won 14-7 at Minnesota the week before. Both teams need a win to keep pace with Nebraska who is undefeated in conference play. This series couldn’t be any closer, as the two teams have split the last 10 meetings. Half of those games were decided by four points or less.
The oddsmakers have Wisconsin as a 3.5 point favorite and they set the total at 42.5. According to Covers.com Consensus and Analysis, a whopping 73% of the public are backing the Badgers. History tells us that points have been hard to come by in previous meetings between these two BIG 10 rivals.
Four of the last five meetings have gone under, and they have scored 40 points or less in each of the last three meetings. The Hawkeyes the Badgers in an ugly 10-8 game at Wisconsin last season, setting up a nice revenge angle here in the rematch in Iowa.
Home field hasn’t helped Iowa lately, the Hawkeyes have failed to cover in nine of their last 10 home games.
