The Milwaukee Brewers have won eight of their last 11 overall, and they beat Arizona by a score of 4-2 in Game 1 of this home series last night. I like the Brew Crew as a small favorite here in Game 2.
Jhoulys Chacin will toe the slab for Milwaukee, and he’s having a fine season for the Brewers. Chacin (3-1, 3.63 ERA) allowed one run on just two hits, fanning seven in seven innings in a no decision at Arizona his last time out. He’s 1-1 with a 2.04 ERA in three home starts, and Milwaukee is 7-3 in his 10 starts overall this season.
The D’Backs hand the ball to Matt Koch, who has been rocked in back to back starts after winning three of his first four. He gave up 11 runs on 16 hits over 12 1/3 innings in home losses to Washington and Milwaukee in his last two starts. He also surrendered a whopping six home runs in those two games.
Paul Goldschmidt’s struggles have continued. He was 0-for-3 in last night’s loss and he’s batting .104 in the month of May. A.J. Pollock leads the team in hits, home runs and RBIs, and he remains out with a thumb injury.
