With all do respect to the Ramblers, and I do think they are a really solid team … they just aren’t of the same caliber of an ACC team that won 22 games. The Hurricanes finished with an 11-7 record in the ACC.. you know who else had an 11-7 record? How about defending national champions North Carolina. The Canes came into the ACC Tournament on a four game winning streak, and that included a 91-88 win over the Tar Heels at Chapel Hill. You will have to forgive me for wondering how a team that can go into North Carolina and stun the Tar Heels is just barely favored over an unranked opponent from the Missouri Valley. In previous seasons, we’ve seen teams from this league make a lot of noise in the tournament, but things have changed. Wichita State moved to the AAC, and Northern Iowa had a brutal season winning only 16 games. This year’s Missouri Valley Conference Champion isn’t cut from the same cloth as those previously mentioned teams. The Canes have covered in four of their last five against Missouri Valley teams, and they are 5-2 ATS in their last seven non conference games. I’ll take the favorite here in this first round matchup.
