They have also increased their passing yards per game average from 210 to 380 yards a game. He has now thrown 6 touchdown passes which is two more than the four thrown in the first four games. Couple that with their defense which is ranked second in the NFL in points allowed (15.2) the Patriots seem to be a force to be reckoned with.
Pittsburgh who lost to Miami last week also lost starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for about four weeks after surgery on his knee. Prior to last week the Steelers had put together two straight strong games where the won both outscoring their opponents 74-27.
The oddsmakers have made the Patriots an eight point favorite and set the total at 45.5. According to Covers.com Consensus Analysis 69% of the public feel New England will win by double digits for the third straight week and are solidly behind them while 67% think the Patriots will continue to put points on the board and with Pittsburgh’s help will go over the total.
The Patriots have won three of the last four times these teams have met and beat the Steelers by at least seven points in each win.
