07-23-19 | Phillies -139 v. Tigers | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 25 m | Show
Take Philadelphia. This is my IL GOW. Game 971. 4:10 pm pst. Philly, which is just a .5 GB of the 2nd WC spot right now, is in need of every win they can get at the moment. They face a Detroit team that is just 12-45 their last 57 outings and own some of baseball's poorest numbers. The Tigers rank 29th in scoring (3.65 RPG) and 27th in Team ERA (5.20). Today, they send Matthew Boyd to the hill. The LH (6-8, 4.13 ERA TY) is facing the Phillies for the first time but owns a 2-4 record with a 4.53 ERA in 12 IL games. Philadelphia gives Aaron Nola the nod. The RH (8-2, 3.77 ERA TY) has had five Quality Starts over his last six turns. The Phillies are 8-3 the last 11 vs. the AL Central and 6-1 in Nola's last seven starts. The Tigers are 1-8 the last nine IL home games and 1-7 in Boyd's last eight starts. Take Philadelphia. Thank you.
07-18-19 | A's +122 v. Twins | 3-6 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 35 m | Show
Take Oakland. This is my BEST BET. Game 921. 5:10 pm pst. Oakland has win six straight, while Minnesota is on a three-game skid. The A's have taken 7 of the last 10 meetings with the Twins and start Mike Fiers here. The RH (9-3, 3.61) is 7-0 with a 2.09 ERA over his last 12 starts and owns a career, 6-1, 2.66 mark in 12 starts vs. the Twins. Minny gives Kyle Gibson the nod. The RH (8-4, 4.03) has had just one quality start over his last six appearances. Oakland is 7-2 the last nine meetings with Minnesota, 4-1 the last five in Minnesota, 42-10 the last 52 vs. the AL Central, and 6-1 in Fier's last seven overall starts. Take The A's. Thank you.
07-18-19 | Rays v. Yankees -154 | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 5 h 38 m | Show
Take New York in the 1st Game of the DH. This is my MLB AL EAST GOW. Game 926. 12:00 pm pst. pm pst. The New York Yankees, despite season-long injury issues, are the most feared team in the AL. On a squad filled with talent, it seems that a different player steps up on any given day. Just putting on the pinstripes, any players head would swell, but this team has very little ego and possess no prima donnas. The first place Yankees square off against the second place Rays here. New York has a 6.0 game lead over Tampa Bay in the division. They have taken 10 of the 14 meetings against their AL East rivals this season and are a whopping, 36-18 the last 54 overall matchups at Yankee Stadium. Team wins leader, Domingo German gets the home start. The RH has an 11-2 record with an ERA of 3.40 on the campaign, including a win in his only start against the Rays this season. Yonny Chirinos takes the hill on the road. The RH has faced the Yankees four times in 2019, with a record of 1-1, yielding eight ER's in 23.0 IP. The sophomore pitcher owns a respectable, 8-4 record with an ERA of 3.11. However "Yonito" has just 89 K's in 107.1 IP. He is not a power pitcher nor does he have an array of weapons in his arsenal. A pitcher must have both when facing the dangerous lineup of the Bronx Bombers. New York is 50-20 the last 70 vs. AL East opponents and 107-49 the last 154 at home. Take New York. Thank you.
07-18-19 | Dodgers v. Phillies +105 | 6-7 | Win | 105 | 2 h 18 m | Show
Take Philadelphia. This is my EARLY GAME WINNER. Game 904. 9:35 am pst. There is no debating just how good the Dodgers are. But even Superman had kryptonite. LA swept Philly back at the end of May at Dodgers Stadium. Los Angeles' weakness...playing at Citizens Bank Park, where they are 3-7 the last 10 visits. The Phillies are scratching and clawing with the Braves and Nationals for NL East supremacy. They are currently 8.5 GB, but play six of their next 11 contests at home, where they are 29-20, and account for over 5.06 RPG. The Dodgers pitching staff are one of the best in the Majors, however, Ross Stripling is no world beater. After a brief stint as a starter when the season began, the RH was then put in the bullpen for nearly two months. The 29-year old is back in the rotation and making his fifth start since his run as a relief pitcher. Overall, "Chicken Strip" has a 4-3 record with a 3.65 ERA, but hasn't made it passed the 5th inning since once again being named a starter. Team ERA leader, Aaron Nola gets the nod here. The RH owns an 8-2 record with an ERA of 3.63 in 2019, fanning 133 batters in 116.2 IP. Just over the last two seasons, "Nols" has been money, earning a 25-8 record with a 3.00 ERA. I'm going out on a limb here because I really do feel LA is the best team in the NL, however, on the road, in Citizens Bank Park, with this pitching matchup, will be the Dodgers kryptonite. TAKE THE PHILLIES
07-17-19 | Rays v. Yankees -152 | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 9 h 34 m | Show
Take New York. This is my MLB AL EAST GOW. Game 966. 4:05 pm pst. The New York Yankees, despite season-long injury issues, are the most feared team in the AL. 07-16-19 | Braves +164 v. Brewers | 1-13 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 45 m | Show
Take Atlanta. This is my TOP RATED RELEASE. Game 907. 5:10 pm pst. The Atlanta Braves have won five in a row and eight of their last nine outings, including yesterday's, series opener over the Milwaukee Brewers, 4-2. They lead the NL East by 7.5 games with a record of 58-37. Milwaukee has dropped eight of their last 10 contests to sink into 3rd place in the NL Central at 48-47. RH, Bryse Wilson (1-0, 6.14 ERA TY) is 2-0 with a 4.82 ERA in four career starts. RH, Brandon Woodruff (10-3, 3.68 ERA TY) is 8-0 in 10 starts at home, but had trouble in a May 15th turn vs. the Braves, resulting in a ND. Atlanta's bats have exploded, as their offense ranks in the top-10 in every major category and during their current, five-game win streak, the pitching staff has been outstanding. The Braves are 3-1 vs. the Brewers this season, 7-2 the last nine vs. the NL Central, 22-8 the last 30 on the road, 36-17 the last 53 vs. RH starters, and 40-17 the last 57 overall. The Brewers are 2-5 the last seven vs. the NL East, 2-5 the last seven following a loss, and 0-7 the last seven vs. RH starters. Take Atlanta. Thank you.
07-14-19 | Braves -144 v. Padres | Top | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 2 h 1 m | Show |
Take Atlanta. This is my NL GOW. Game 913. 1:10 pm pst Atlanta took Games 1 and 2 of this series (four of six meetings TY) and seven of the last 10 overall matchups with San Diego, going back to LY. The Braves enter Game 3 here, winning six of their last seven overall to lead the NL East by 6.0 games, with a record of 56-37. This is a team that accounts for a whopping, 5.04 RPG on the road, with an offense ranking in the top-seven in scoring (5.41 RPG), Team BA (.263), and HR's (148). They give Mike Soroka the nod here. The RH is 9-1 with a 2.42 ERA on the season, putting the 21-year old in the running for NL Rookie of the Year. He faced and beat the Padres in his only start against them back on April 29th, allowing one run and four hits with eight K's, in 6.0 IP. San Diego is a mess, sitting in 4th place in the NL West at 45-47. They account for a mere, 3.88 RPG at home and send Cal Quantrill to the hill today. The RH, who is making his eight start in 12 appearances in his rookie season, is 2-2 with a 4.83 mark, losing in his only start vs. Atlanta, back on May 1st. The Braves are 20-6 the last 26 vs. RH starters, 20-8 the last 28 on the road, and 12-0 in Soroka's last 12 starts vs. teams with a losing record. The Padres are 0-4 the last four vs. the NL East, 0-6 the last six at home, and 0-4 in Quantrill's last four home starts. Take Atlanta. Thank you.
07-12-19 | Nationals -132 v. Phillies | Top | 4-0 | Win | 100 | 8 h 34 m | Show |
Take Washington. This is my NL EAST GOW. Game 903. 3:05 pm pst. Washington has dominated Philadelphia, taking six of the last eight meetings this season and are 18-4 in Strasburg's last 22 starts vs. the Phillies. The RH is 10-4 on the season with a 3.64 ERA and owns a career, 12-2, 2.72 record in 25 starts vs. Philly. RH, Nick Pivetta (4.3, 5.84 TY), who is 0-2 with a 7.33 ERA in his last four overall starts, has gotten shellacked by Washington this season, yielding 13 runs in 9.0 IP, in tw0 starts, going 0-2 vs. the Nationals. Washington is 5-1 the last six on the road, 15-3 the last 18 vs. the NL East, and 20-6 the last 26 vs. RH starters. Philadelphia is 2-5 the last seven vs. teams with a winning record, 3-9 in Pivetta's last 12 starts vs. the NL East, and 5-12 the last 17 vs. RH starters. Take the Nationals. Thank you.
07-09-19 | National League v. American League -109 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 21 m | Show
Take the AL. 4:30 pm pst. Ryu and Verlander are starting this ASG. Both are strong pitchers having solid campaigns. I am a "pitchers" handicapper. However, no matter how good a League's pitching staff is, pitchers only last an inning or two in the ASG. So, this game comes down to hitting. The American League has too many weapons in their arsenal and have won six straight and are an overall, 24-6-1 the last 31 ASG's. Offensive prowess and history are on the side of the AL and so am I. Take the American League. Thank you.
07-06-19 | Rockies +112 v. Diamondbacks | 2-4 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 50 m | Show
Take Colorado. This is my NL WEST GOW. Game 911. 7:10 pm pst. Colorado has taken nine of the last 10 this season vs. Arizona and six of the last seven at Chase Field. RH, Jon Gray (9-5, 3.84) is 1-0 with a 2.38 ERA in two turns vs. the Diamondbacks this season. LH, Robbie Ray (5-6, 4.10) is just 4-5 with a 5.49 mark in 15 career starts vs. the Rockies in his career, including a 1-1, 4.41 record this season. Colorado is 18-5 the last 23 meetings vs. Arizona and 4-0 in Gray's last four starts. Arizona is 4-10 the last 14 vs. RH starters and 0-4 in ray's last four starts. Take the Rockies. Thank you.
07-06-19 | Orioles +143 v. Blue Jays | 8-1 | Win | 143 | 5 h 58 m | Show
Take Baltimore. This is my AL EAST GOW. Game 915. 12:07 pm pst. Andrew Cashner has pitched well. The RH is 8-3 with a 4.03 ERA on the campaign and is 2-2 with a 2.68 ERA vs. Toronto over his career. Clayton Richard is just horrible. The LH is 1-4 with a 6.51 record on the season, allowing eight HR's in 37.3 IP. The Orioles are 5-1 in Cashner's last six starts. The Blue Jays are 1-6 the last seven vs. the AL East. Take Baltimore. Thank you.
07-04-19 | Brewers -120 v. Reds | 0-1 | Loss | -120 | 4 h 38 m | Show
Take Milwaukee. This is my GRAND SLAM. Game 903. 11:10 am pst. Milwaukee took Game 1 of this series then lost both Games 2 and 3. They are 6-2 the last eight at Great American Ball Park and have Brandon Woodruff on the mound here. The RH, who is 10-2 with a 3.79 ERA on the season, owns a 2-1 career mark vs. the Reds, including a win in his only start this season against them in which he struck out a career-high, 12 batters. Cincy sends Luis Castillo to the hill. The RH has suffered back-to-back losses and owns a 2-3, 4.03 lifetime record vs. Milwaukee in seven starts. He is making his fourth start this season against them, and is 0-2 thus far. The Reds are 0-4 in Castillo's last four starts vs. the Brewers. The Brewers are 8-0 in Woodruff's last eight starts vs. the NL Central. Take Milwaukee. Thank you.
06-30-19 | Braves -100 v. Mets | 5-8 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 47 m | Show
Take Atlanta. This is my NL EAST GOW. Game 913. 4:05 pm pst. Atlanta has taken Games 1 and 2 of this series and six of the nine meetings this season against their division rivals and top the NL East at 50-34. New York has dropped seven in a row, sinking to 4th place in the division, 13.0 GB. LH, Max Fried is 9-3 with a 3.96 ERA on the season, and owns a 1-1, 1.77 mark in seven career meetings vs. the Mets. New York is activating Noah Syndergaard from the injured list after missing one start (hamstring). The RH is 5-4 with a 4.55 record this year and has a lifetime, 0-2, 3.49 mark in seven starts vs. Atlanta. The Braves are 9-3 the last 12 at the Mets, 5-0 in Fried's last five starts, and 20-7 the last 27 overall. The Mets are 0-7 the last seven vs. the NL East, 1-5 the last six at home, and 3-9 the last 12 games played on Sunday. Take Atlanta. Thank you.
06-30-19 | Rangers +182 v. Rays | 2-6 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 56 m | Show
Take Texas. This is my HR. Game 921. 10:10 am pst. Texas has won seven of their last nine, including yesterday's, Game 2 of this series. The Rangers average a whopping, 5.22 RPG on the road and start Jesse Chavez here. The RH is 3-2 with a 2.79 ERA on the campaign. Tampa Bay gives Blake Snell the nod. The LH, who hasn't made it past 4.0 IP in his last three turns, is 4-7 with a 5.01 record this season. The Rays are 0-6 the last six following a win and 1-4 the last five vs. RH starters. The Rangers are 9-2 the last 11 following a loss and 4-0 in Chavez's last four starts. Take Texas. Thank you.
06-29-19 | Yankees -141 v. Red Sox | 17-13 | Win | 100 | 2 h 25 m | Show
Take NY. Game 965. 10:10 am pst. It doesn't matter that this game is being played in London, New York has dominated Boston, taking four of five meetings this season. The Yankees enter this contest not just in 1st place in the AL East but also owners of the best record in all of the AL at 52-28, winning three straight. The Red Sox are 9.0 GB, in 3rd place at 44-38. RH, Masahiro Tanaka (5-5, 3.21 TY) sports a lifetime, 8-4, 4.35 mark in 18 starts vs. Boston. RH, Rick Porcello(5-7, 4.52 TY) has only notched one win in five starts in the month of June. Boston is 1-4 in Porcello's last five starts on five days rest. New York is 6-2 the last eight following an off day. Take the Yankees. Thank you.
06-28-19 | Cubs -122 v. Reds | 3-6 | Loss | -122 | 5 h 51 m | Show
Take Chicago. This is my NL CENTRAL GOW. Game 901. 4:10 pm pst. Cincinnati may have taken four of the six meetings with Chicago this season, but that was all in the month of May while the Cubs were struggling. Chicago now leads the NL Central while Cincy dwells in its cellar. The big difference here is Cole Hamels. The LH, who owns a 6-2, 2.92 record on the season, has absolutely decimated the Reds, donning a career, 11-1, 1.91 mark in 17 starts vs. them, while winning four of five decisions at Great America Ball Park. RH, Sonny Gray (3-5, 4.03 TY) is 1-1 with a whopping ERA of 5.40 in June. The Cubs are 11-4 in Hamel's last 15 starts and 5-1 the last six vs. RH starters. The Reds are 0-4 the last four following an off day and 0-4 the last four overall. Take Chicago. Thank you.
06-26-19 | Rangers -105 v. Tigers | Top | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 6 h 0 m | Show |
Take Texas. This is my AL GOW. Game 917. 4:10 pm pst. Very quietly the Texas Rangers have taken over 2nd place in the AL West at 43-36, just 6.5 GB the Houston Astros. This is a team that is up 16.68 units overall. They are getting the bettors paid. True, their road record (15-21) isn't flattering. However, they average over 5.42 RPG on the road. LH, Mike Minor is off to one of the hottest starts in a career that spans 10 years at 7-4 with an ERA of 2.52, striking out 103 batters in 103.2 IP. Detroit sits in 4th place in the AL Central at 26-48, 23.0 GB. They have dropped five straight and nine of their last 10. The Tigers are just as bad at home as they are on the road. As a matter of fact, they are one of the AL's worst home teams, owning a deplorable, 11-25 record at Comerica Park, where they post a mere, 3.32 RPG. FYI, visitors put up an astounding, 6.16 RPG when passing thru Detroit. They are -11.93 units overall. But when they play on their home field, the Tigers own a 10-26 mark on the RL. Not only do they lose, they lose badly, with the average margin of deficit coming by 2.84 RPG. Matthew Boyd takes the hill today. The LH is a respectable, 5-5, with a 3.61 record. But, the former 6th rd, 2013 draft pick is going to get shellacked here, while once again be receiving very little run support. He hasn't notched a win since may 28th and over his last two turns, he was trampled, allowing nine ER's. The Rangers are 11-3 the last 14 at the Tigers and 19-7 the last 26 overall vs. the Tigers. The Tigers are 15-37 the last 52 at home and 13-45 the last 58 vs. the AL West. Take Texas. Thank you.
06-25-19 | Dodgers -109 v. Diamondbacks | Top | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 22 m | Show |
Take LA. This is my NL WEST GOW. Game 957. 6:40 pm pst. After winning six in a row, LA lost Game 1 of this series yesterday, 8-5. The Dodgers, which own the best overall record in baseball (54-26) are an excellent bounce back team, going 53-25 the last 78 following a loss. To get them laying such a short price is a gift, especially against a division foe as they are 23-9 vs. the NL West this season. RH, Ross Stripling (3-2, 3.08 overall) is 1-1 with a 2.65 ERA as a starter (six starts) this season but has come out of the bullpen his last 14 appearances. LH, Robbie Ray (5-4, 3.87) has a good career mark vs. LA but is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA in two starts against them this season. Arizona is 2-5 the last seven at home, 1-6 the last seven vs. RH starters, and 0-4 in Ray's last four starts on grass. LA is 6-1 the last seven during Game 2 of a series, 5-0 the last five vs. LH starters, and 4-1 in Stripling's last five starts. Take the Dodgers. Thank you.
06-24-19 | Braves +123 v. Cubs | 3-8 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 29 m | Show
Take Atlanta. This is my BB play. 5:05 pm pst. Atlanta is playing some great baseball, winning 13 of their last 16 games to widen their NL East lead to 6.5 games. They have taken all three meetings with Chicago this season, who enters today's matchup dropping eight of their last 13. The Braves, Julio Teheran comes off his worst start of the season after an eight-start stretch in which he posted an 0.81 ERA. The RH held the Cubs to one run on six hits, with seven K's, in a no-decision on April 3rd. Jon Lester gets the nod at home. The LH (6-5, 4.13 TY) has surrendered 11 HR's while posting a 7.17 ERA and allowing opponents a BA of .325 in his last seven outings. Atlanta is 8-1 in Teheran's last nine starts vs. Chicago, 5-1 the last six on the road, and 16-5 the last 21 overall. Chicago is 1-4 the last five following a win, 2-5 the last seven vs. teams with a winning record, and 1-4 the last five Monday games. Take the Braves. Thank you,
06-14-19 | Brewers -135 v. Giants | 3-5 | Loss | -135 | 11 h 33 m | Show
Take Milwaukee. This is my BEST BET. 7:15 pm pst. Milwaukee has dominated San Francisco, taking six of the last seven meetings. If that weren't enough, today's pitching matchup favors them too. Zach Davies takes the hill here. The RH is 7-0 with a 2.41 ERA on the season. Drew Pomeranz gets the nod at home. The LH is 1-6 with a 7.16 mark on the campaign. The Brewers post 5.03 RPG as a visitor, compared to the Giants, 3.03 RPG as host. Milwaukee is 21-8 the last 29 following an off day, 36-16 the last 52 during Game 1 of a series, and 5-1 the last six overall. San Francisco is 3-7 the last 10 at home, 3-7 the last 10 during Game 1 of a series, and 7-20 the last 27 vs. the NL Central. Take the Brewers. Thank you.
06-13-19 | Diamondbacks -118 v. Nationals | 5-0 | Win | 100 | 9 h 30 m | Show
Take Arizona. This is my BEST BET. 4:05 pm pst. Arizona has won five of six on their current road trip and go into Nationals Park with a 22-17 away record, accounting for 5.82 RPG as a visitor. They give Zack Greinke the nod here. The RH is 7-2 with a 2.87 ERA on the season and owns a lifetime, 5-1, 1.46 mark vs. Washington. The Nationals return home here after splitting their six game road trip. They are 15-15 at home, averaging 4.80 RPG. They send Erick Fedde to the hill. The RH is 1-0 with an ERA of 2.93 and is making just his fifth start of the campaign. Arizona is 4-1 the last five vs. the NL East, 5-1 the last six vs. RH starters, and 11-5 in Greinke's last 16 starts vs. the NL East. Washington is 1-11 the last 12 following an off day, 7-21 the last 28 during Game 1 of a series, and 1-8 in Fedde's last nine home starts. Take the Diamondbacks. Thank you.
06-12-19 | Rangers +133 v. Red Sox | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 23 m | Show
Take Texas. This is my HIGH ROLLER. 1:05 pm pst. Winning 11 of their last 15 outings, including Games 1 and 2 of this series, Texas is playing some very solid baseball. The team's only crime is being in the same division as Houston. The Rangers, which are in 2nd place in the AL West, trail the Astros by 9.0 games, with a record of 36-30. This is a team that despite a road record of 12-18, average over 5.57 RPG as a visitor in 2019. A season ago, I would have looked at this matchup quite differently. Boston, which went on to win the World Series, took six of seven meetings with Texas in 2018. The Red Sox are currently sitting in 3rd place in the AL East, 8.0 GB, at 34-34. They are just 15-17 at Fenway Park this season. Outside of sweeping one of the Majors worst teams, the Royals, this team has lost four straight series. One of my favorite pitchers to back takes the mound for Texas. Lance Lynn gets the nod here. The RH is 7-4 with a 4.39 ERA, with 85 K's, in 80.0 IP, en route to a career, 89-61, 3.62 record. The 32-year old has the savvy to handle the Boston lineup. Rick Porcello gets the home start. The RH is 4-6 with a 4.86 mark, fanning just 60 batters in 74.0 IP. The 30-year old, although owns a respectable, lifetime ERA of 4.28, has never been a hurler that doesn't need run support. The Red Sox are 4-13 the last 15 vs. teams with a winning record and 1-7 the last eight at home. Take the Rangers. Thank you.
06-11-19 | Cubs v. Rockies +117 | 3-10 | Win | 117 | 11 h 37 m | Show
Take Colorado. This is my DIAMOND PLAY. 5:40 pm pst. Chicago, with yesterday's loss, fell out of 1st place in the NL Central. The Cubs have serious problems on the road, where they are 13-17 on the season. They send Jose Quintana to the hill in a rematch with Peter Lambert. LH, Quintana is 0-4 with a 4.19 ERA in his last six turns. RH, Lambert (1-0, 1.29) is making his second start ever, but handled the Cubs quite well in his Major League debut LW. Chicago is 2-5 the last seven vs. Colorado, 0-4 the last four road games, and 1-5 in Quintana's last six starts. Take the Rockies. Thank you.

We see one such case here today. Perennial, Central division favorites, the Cleveland Indians have had real problems when it comes the Oakland Athletics. Pay no mind to the fact that the A's are third in the West, they are the Indians kryptonite. They have taken four of the five this season and nine of the last 11 vs. the Tribe. Take Minnesota. This is my DP. Game 910. 4:40 pm pst. The Minnesota Twins own the best record in baseball (25-14). However, the team looked flat in yesterday's loss. 05-04-19 | Dodgers -113 v. Padres | 7-6 | Win | 100 | 10 h 30 m | Show
Take Los Angeles. This is my NL WEST GOW. Game 963. 5:40 pm pst. These NL West rivals met for the first time this season as Los Angeles took Game 1 of this series on Friday, 4-3. The Dodgers have dominated the Padres, winning eight of the last nine meetings going back to last season and own an overall, 45-19 mark the last 64 matchups. Rich Hill takes the mound here as the LH is 0-0, with an ERA of 1.50, and is making just his second start. The 39-year old owns a 2.89 ERA in 11 career starts vs. San Diego. 05-01-19 | Dodgers -139 v. Giants | 1-2 | Loss | -139 | 10 h 54 m | Show
Take Los Angeles. This is my DIAMOND PLAY. Game 909. 6:45 pm pst. The Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the hottest teams in baseball, winning 12 of the last 16 contests. They are perched atop the NL West at 20-12, two games ahead of both the Arizona Diamondbacks and the San Diego Padres. They are doing it on both sides of the field. The offense ranks 5th in scoring at 5.44 RPG, 9th in Team BA at .259, and 3rd in HR's with 52 round-trippers. The pitching has been outstanding, ranking 10th in Team ERA at 3.93 and 5th in strikeouts with 279 K's. San Francisco was not touted to be a playoff team. But dropping eight of their last 12 to sink to last place in the division at 12-18 is even worse than we could have imagined. Their pitching has been good (3.81 Team ERA). It is their offense (or lack thereof) that has been downright deplorable, ranking 29th in scoring (3.20 RPG), 29th in Team BA (.214), 27th in HR's (24), and 25th in SB's (9). Things are going to go from bad to worse as they face Dodgers pitcher, Hyun-Jin Ryu here. The RH is in top-form, with a 3-1, 2.96 record on the season, fanning 33 and walking just two in 27.1 IP. The Giants send Madison Bumgarner to the hill. The LH is a disappointing, 1-4, with an ERA of 4.30 on the year. Mad-Bum has not had a successful campaign since 2016. Los Angeles is 7-2 the last nine meetings in this series,10-1 in Ryu's last 11 starts vs. NL West opponents, and 42-18 the last 60 games played vs. NL West foes. San Francisco is 1-5 the last six games played at home, 1-7 in Bumgarner's last eight starts, and 17-39 the last 56 games played overall. Take the Dodgers. Thank you.

In only his fourth year, the 26-year old is making just his 12th start and owns a career, 3-7, 4.93 record. To get to the dangerous, M's lineup, you must be an experienced, savvy, power pitcher. 04-05-19 | Mariners -120 v. White Sox | 8-10 | Loss | -120 | 3 h 52 m | Show
Take Seattle. This is my BEST BET. Game 921. 11:10 am pst. At 7-1, Seattle owns the best record in baseball. The Mariners are doing it with strong base-hitting, HR's, and stolen bases along with solid pitching. Yusei Kikuchi gets the road start here. The LH is 0-0 on the season but has gone 10.2 IP, with 8 K's, and just 1 BB. Chicago plays their home opener today. The White Sox (2-3) pitching has been a letdown. The offense ranks in the bottom half in Team BA, HR's, and SB's, while the pitching is 20th in ERA and 30th in K's. To make matters worse, the fielding has been deplorable as the team has committed 8 Errors in just 5 games. Reynaldo Lopez takes the hill at home. The RH is 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA thus far. Take Milwaukee. Game 962. 5:05 pm pst. Milwaukee forced a Game 7 today with a decisive, 7-2 victory yesterday. LA, once again, showed an erratic offense. The Dodgers give Walker Beuhler the road start. The RH got lit up in Game 3 for 4 runs and 6 hits in the loss and owns a 3.45 road ERA on the season. Jhoulys Chacin is 2-0 in this year's playoffs, permitting 6 hits in 10 1/3 scoreless IP. The Dodgers are 4-13 the L17 League Championship road games while the Brewers are 4-1 the L5 playoff home games. Take Milwaukee. Thank you.
10-19-18 | Dodgers v. Brewers +101 | 2-7 | Win | 101 | 10 h 3 m | Show
Take Milwaukee. Game 958. 5:35 pm pst. This is the matchup Craig Counsell wanted. The Brewers manager wants Wade Miley on the mound in this contest to force a Game 7. LH, Miley dominated LA in Game 2, scattering just 2 hits in 5 2/3 IP. Hyun-Jin Ryu pitched well in the NL Division series but the LH allowed 2 runs in only 4 1/3 IP in game 2 of this series. 10-17-18 | Red Sox +136 v. Astros | 8-6 | Win | 136 | 11 h 51 m | Show
Take Boston. The only thing tougher than having to face the Boston Red Sox, is a true New Yorker siding with them. (LOL). With all respect to the Houston Astros, this Game 4 matchup, favors the Boys from Beantown. Both scheduled starting pitchers have similar regular season numbers. However, due to run support, Porcello has a lot more wins. Both also haven't really shined in the post-season. Rick Porcello is 1-3 with a 4.60 ERA in the playoffs, while Charlie Morton owns a post-season record of 2-2, with a 4.03 mark. The Astros, despite being down, 2-1 in this series, are tied on the overall season over the Red Sox, 5-5. Both offenses and pitching staffs are among the best in baseball. The edge offensively goes to a Boston lineup that ranks first in just about every category, while the pitching edge goes to Houston, who ironically, ranks first too, in just about every category. The trends and streaks offer no edge at all, as both teams sport incredible numbers. So, this game comes down to two things...the fact that Porcello is a bit stronger as a starter than Morton. And, the fact that the Red Sox are hungrier. Take Boston. Thank you.
10-17-18 | Brewers +160 v. Dodgers | 2-5 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 12 m | Show
Take Milwaukee. Sports fans, I am still not sold on either the Dodgers or Kershaw, for that matter, when it comes to post-season play. Until they prove me wrong, I am going home with "the one that brung me," as the saying goes. Milwaukee has won 14 of the last 16 games, including Games 1 and 3 of this series. Statistically, Los Angeles is a monster team. They rank 5th in scoring, averaging 4.93 RPG and 2nd in Team ERA, at 3.38. Clayton Kershaw is a 3-time Cy Young award winner that owns a career, 149-69, 2.37, regular season record. However, when it come to the playoffs, the 30-year old, is just 8-8 and sees his ERA soar up to 4.26. Wade Miley is on his fourth Major League team. Overall, the 31-year old has had a mediocre career, donning a lifetime, 66-74 mark (prior to this season). But since joining the Brewers, he is 5-2, with an ERA of 2.57, in 16 starts. Milwaukee is 5-3 the last 8 games played at Los Angeles, 14-4 the last 18 games played on the road, and 8-1 in Miley's last 9 overall starts. Take Milwaukee. Thank you.
10-14-18 | Astros -120 v. Red Sox | 5-7 | Loss | -120 | 9 h 11 m | Show

Houston gives Gerrit Cole the nod. The RH is 1-0 with a 1.29 mark this post-season and owns a 1-0, 3.46 record in 2 starts vs. Boston this regular season. The Astros are 4-1 the L5 at the Red Sox, 9-4 the L13 overall vs. the Red sox, 5-0 the L5 playoff games, 12-3 the L15 vs. LH starters, 40-13 the L53 on the road, 4-0 in Cole's L4 starts on 7 or more days rest, and 40-18 the L58 overall. 10-12-18 | Dodgers v. Brewers +143 | 5-6 | Win | 143 | 11 h 0 m | Show
Take Milwaukee. Since their 1988 World Series win over the Oakland A's, the Los Angeles Dodgers have made it to 11 post-seasons', reaching the World Series just 1 more time, last year, losing to the Houston Astros. As a matter of fact, LA has just about the most post-season experience out there, with a streak of 5 straight years making it past September. Clayton Kershaw gets the nod in Game 1. As good as Kershaw is over the years, his record in the playoffs pales in comparison to his regular season record. The 3-time Cy Young award winner has a career, regular season record of 149-69, with an ERA of 2.37. His lifetime post-season mark is just 8-7, with an ERA of 4.08, in 25 appearances (20 starts). It's going to be tough for LH as he faces a Milwaukee team that is red-hot, winning 11 in a row. During their current win streak, they have outscored opponents, 72-27. Even if he pitches a solid game, eventually, the team must go to the bull pen. Gio Gonzalez takes the mound at home. The LH is 3-0 with a 2.13 ERA since joining the Brewers and owns a career, 4-1, 1.89 record in 6 outings vs. the Dodgers. Their surging lineup will give him enough run support to best Kershaw and the erratic Dodgers offense. Milwaukee is 4-0 the L4 vs. LH starters, 6-0 the L6 following an off day, 5-0 in Gonzalez's L5 starts, and 23-6 the L29 overall. Take the Brewers. Thank you.

The Braves are 0-5 the L5 vs. LH starters, 1-7 in Foltnewicz's L8 starts vs. the NL West, and 1-4 the L5 overall. The Dodgers are 4-0 the L4 vs. RH starters, 11-1 in Hill's L12 starts vs. the NL East, and 7-1 the L8 Division playoff games. Take Los Angeles. Thank you.

09-26-18 | Phillies v. Rockies -183 | 0-14 | Win | 100 | 10 h 29 m | Show
Philly fans had high-hopes this season, but at 78-79, the team fell short of expectations. Meanwhile, Colorado is just a 1/2 GB Los Angeles in the West. This team has become quite dangerous. There once was a time when they had trouble on the road but the last few seasons, they have remedied that, resulting in the team's, 87-70 record. They have always been a winner at home. The Phillies put up only 3.85 RPG on the road, as the Rockies, one of baseball's highest scoring home teams, account for over 5.36 RPG at Coors Field. As of print, Philadelphia has dropped 6 straight and 8 of their L10. Colorado has won 5 in a row, including Games 1 and 2 of this series. RH, Nick Pivetta is 7-13 with a 4.50 record on the season. Take Chicago. This is my BEST BET play. Game 959. 6:40 pm pst. With the Brewers just 3.5 GB and the Cardinals 6.5 GB in the Central, the first-place Cubs need every win they can get right now. Don't get me wrong, so do the Diamondbacks, who trail the Dodgers by 5.0 games and the Rockies by 15 games in the West. However, Chicago is playing much stronger baseball, having won 5 of their L6, including a Games 1 & 2 of this series over Arizona. The D-Backs are just, 4-14 their L18 overall. Cole Hamels has been solid for the Cubs. Since joining the team, the LH is 4-0 in 9 starts, en route to a season mark of 9-9, with a 3.68 ERA. Robbie Ray gets the nod at home. The LH is 5-2, but, the 26-year old dons a 4.14 ERA on the campaign. The Cubs are 6-1 the L7 meetings in Arizona and 6-2 the L8 vs. the NL West.
