06-03-23 | Panthers v. Golden Knights -123 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 49 m | Show
Game 1 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals here tonight from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. One thing is for sure this year, which ever team wins, it will be the first for that team in franchise history. Both teams have been here before, Florida back in the 1990's and Vegas in their first season in the NHL back in 2018. Florida wouldn't have even made the playoffs if Pittsburgh would have taken care of business in the final days of the regular season. But, Florida made it and also beat the best team in the regular season, the Boston Bruins. And that was after being down 1-3 in that series. They then went on to beat a very good Toronto team and then the 2nd best team in the East, Carolina, sweeping the Canes. Vegas was good all year, being the best team in the West. They got by Winnipeg easy enough, but were dogs to Edmonton. The Oilers with McDavid and Draisaidl looked to be a tall mountain to climb. But Vegas used their great defense to get past and then stifled Dallas to get here to the finals. Vegas is a great balanced team, with all four lines able to score. They also have the best defense and block more shots than any other team in the league. They picked up Jack Eichel last hear and he was a huge payoff this year. The return of captain Mark Stone from surgery at the start of the playoffs seemed to be that extra nudge the team needed. But what is most amazing is that they did this with five different goalies. The loss of Lehner to season surgery then the emergence of rookie Logan Thompson seemed to be what they needed. But Thompson wend down with an injury and they traded Columbus to get Jonathan Quick who they got from LA. Quick provided some much needed regular season wins. However, it was Laurent Brossoit who emerged as the goalie for the playoffs. Then Brossoit went down in the Edmonton series and in came Adin Hill. Hill performed great the rest of that series and the Dallas series. Quick never has gotten into a playoff game for the Knights. But really, it's this great Vegas defense that makes all these goalies look better then maybe they are. And for me that's the difference here today. The Vegas defense and the depth of scoring on this team. I look for Vegas to win here tonight in game one.
05-23-23 | Golden Knights v. Stars -141 | 4-0 | Loss | -141 | 8 h 15 m | Show
The Dallas Stars could easily be 2-0 in this series with the Golden Knights. Yet, they return to Dallas in a must win spot here tonight trailing 0-2. The Stars were 3-0 vs Vegas in the regular season and really easily handled them. So it figures they had high hopes with this matchup. But Dallas had to force OT late in the third period of game one only to lose early in OT. Then Dallas really outplayed Vegas for most of the game in game two. But a late Vegas goal tied the score at forced another OT. This time Vegas again got the fortunate bounce and a win early in OT. However, Dallas has to be confident here in game three. They have had great goal tending and they have played very physical and great defense. Everyone thought a physical/defensive game would benefit Vegas, but it's really helped Dallas. Just some unlucky bounces of the puck have them down 0-2. I'm taking Dallas tonight. They have to win this game or go down 0-3. They have the home crowd behind them and if they play like they did in game two, it's a Dallas win. Play Dallas.
11-30-22 | Rangers -113 v. Senators | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 7 h 60 m | Show
Eastern Conference clash here tonight between the NY Rangers and the Ottawa Senators. The Ny Rangers are 10-9-4 with 24 points on the season. The Rangers actually have a losing home record and a winning road record this year. The Rangers also looking to snap a three-game losing streak here tonight at Ottawa. As for the Senators, they are next to last in the Eastern Conference with just 17 points. Only Columbus with 16 points has fewer. The Senators have won two straight games after a West road swing that saw them finish with wins over the Ducks, 5-1, and the Kings 3-2. This will be the fifth meeting between the teams this season. The Rangers won the last meeting, 5-1. I like the Rangers again here tonight.
10-17-22 | Canucks +124 v. Capitals | 4-6 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 13 m | Show
NHL just under a week old into the new season and Vancouver still looking for that first win after two games. The Canucks are 0-2 and have scored five goals while allowing eight goals. They will take on the Washington Capitals tonight. The Caps have played three games and are 1-2 with seven goals scored and nine goals allowed. Neither team off to a great start. The Caps have not been all that good dating back to the end of last season. They are 1-5 in their last six games and 2-5 in their last seven home games. They are also 3-7 in their last 10 vs the West's Pacific division. Vancouver a small road dog here tonight. I'll take them in this spot to get their first win of the young season. Play Vancouver.
05-22-22 | Panthers -109 v. Lightning | 1-5 | Loss | -109 | 3 h 19 m | Show
Game three of this series between a pair of Florida NHL teams has the Lightning hosting the Panthers here on Sunday. The Panthers are in dire need of a win here today after losing both game one and game two on their home ice. The Panthers offense was great in their first round, scoring 20 goals. However, they have yet to find that same success here in this round, scoring only two goals. The powerplay has been horrible, going 0-for-22 in the playoffs. The defense has kept the Panthers in the series, allowing only six goals. The Panthers have to win this game or go down 0-3 and have little chance the way the offense has produced. This is their shot here today. Take the Panthers.
04-20-22 | Capitals v. Golden Knights -139 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 43 m | Show
This game is really simple. The VGK Golden Knights need to win. Having lost at home to New Jersey the other night makes this one so important that if they lose they likely won't make the playoffs. There are only a handful of games left and Vegas still isn't in the playoffs. So two points here is critical. I'll take a chance on the Knights tonight and see if they really want this or not. Play Vegas.
04-15-22 | Islanders v. Canadiens +134 | 3-0 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 46 m | Show
The NHL down to just a handful of games in the regular season. The Montreal Canadiens have been eliminated from the postseason with just 51 points and last place in the Eastern Conference. The Islanders are in a fight for one of the last playoff spots with the Blue Jackets. Just one point separates Montreal and Columbus. The Islanders are coming off a loss at Pittsburgh and have lost three of their last five games. Montreal has lost three straight games. However, seven of their last nine games have been on the road. Now they return home for tonight's contest and I look for them to give the Islanders all kinds of problems. I'll take Montreal at this nice home dog price.
03-03-22 | Penguins +155 v. Lightning | 5-1 | Win | 155 | 9 h 34 m | Show
Eastern Conference matchup here between 2nd place Tampa Bay (76 points) and fifth place Pittsburgh (74 points). Both teams on win streaks as the Lightning have won five straight and the Penguins have won two straight games. Tampa Bay is 8-1-1 in their last 10 games and the Penguins are 6-3-1 last 10 games. The Penguins have been a good road bet, as they are 17-5 in their last 22 away games. They are also 9-4 in their last 13 games vs a team with a winning record. Penguins at +1.50 or there about looks like a good live dog bet for me tonight.
02-26-22 | Wild v. Flames -145 | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 10 h 18 m | Show
Western Conference clash between two of the top tier teams and 3rd place Calgary hosts fourth place Minnesota. Calgary has been red hot, winning nine of their last 10 games and have the 2nd best goal differential in the Conference with a +49. Minnesota is 5-5 in their last 10 games and has a +37 goal differential. The Flames lead the Wild by just one point in a crowded West where six points separates six teams. I like Calgary on their hot streak here today. Play Calgary.
02-19-22 | Kings -175 v. Coyotes | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 44 m | Show
The LA Kings pulled an unlikely win last night in Vegas. Vegas has dominated the Kings since they came into the league and last night Vegas led 3-1 in the third when the Kings rallied for two goals to tie the game and send it to OT. In the extra period the Kings go the winner and the full points. That makes three wins in their last four games where they have scored at least four games in those wins. They take on a poor Arizona team here today. The Coyotes are coming off a loss to Tampa Bay, 3-4. That makes them just 2-8 their last 10 games. LA has momentum and they picked the perfect team to keep it going here on Saturday. Play the Kings.
02-18-22 | Stars -150 v. Blackhawks | 1-0 | Win | 100 | 8 h 26 m | Show
Western Conference clash tonight as Dallas takes on the Blackhawks in Chicago. Right now neither team looks to be going to the playoffs as Dallas sits 10th and Chicago is 14th. Dallas has won seven of their last 10 games so they are moving up toward that 8th place cutoff. Can't say the same for Chicago who is just 3-6-1 over their last 10 games. Chicago also has the 2nd worst goal differential in the West at -46 goals. Dallas coming off a win over West Conference leader Colorado, 4-1. Chicago coming off a home loss to Columbus, 4-7. I like the surging Stars here tonight. Play Dallas.
02-09-22 | Islanders -120 v. Canucks | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 55 m | Show
The NY Islanders hope to get back to winning as they start the 2nd half of the season. The Islanders have just 38 points and sit in 12th place in the East. While they have a losing home record, they are 7-7 on the road. They played their last seven games at home and went just 3-4. The return to the road where they seem to be more comfortable. The Vancouver Canucks have 48 points, but in the competitive West that is only good for 12th place. The Canucks started the 2nd half of the season with a win over Arizona, 5-1. That was their 3rd win in their last eight games. The Islanders are a small road favorite here tonight and I'll take them as they just seem to do better away from home.
02-09-22 | Blackhawks v. Oilers -175 | 4-1 | Loss | -175 | 7 h 25 m | Show
The Chicago Blackhawks play their first game after the All-Star Break. They hope this half is better than the first half. The Hawks ended the 1st half losing three straight games and seven of their last eight games. They allowed 14 goals in their last three games. The Oilers had finished the first half on a decent run, winning five of their last six games. However, they ran into a healthy Vegas Knights team and that resulted in a 0-4 loss on their home ice. Can't see the Oilers repeating that performance here tonight. Take Edmonton to bounce back.
02-08-22 | Golden Knights v. Oilers +110 | 4-0 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 10 m | Show
Edmonton finds themselves a small home dog here tonight as they take on the Vegas Golden Knights. Vegas finished the All-Star break by winning the last two game, including against Buffalo, 5-2. Vegas has dealt with lots of injuries and Covid protocols during the first half of the season. Defenseman Alex Martinez is doubtful today with an injury, but other than that they are healthier than most of the year. The Edmonton Oilers not having as good a season as last year as they sit 23-16-3 overall. Conner MacDavid leads this team, one of the best players in the NHL. Edmonton finished the 1st half of the season winning five of their last six games. That was a big turnaround from their previous seven game losing streak. With Edmonton playing their best right now I'll take them as as small home dog tonight.
02-02-22 | Oilers +100 v. Capitals | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 6 h 45 m | Show
It's East meets West here tonight as the Eastern Conference Washington Capitals host the Western Conference Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers are not having the kind of season they hoped for with all the star fire power they have. The Oilers have just 47 points and right now sit in 11th in the West. The Capitals have 59 points, but that is only good for 7th in the East. The Caps have won two straight games with wins at Dallas, 5-0, and at Pittsburgh, 4-3. The Oilers had their four-game win streak snapped last game at Ottawa, 2-3. This game close to pick or -1.10 on the Oilers. I like Edmonton here tonight as they are much better then their points exhibit. Play Edmonton.
02-01-22 | Flames v. Stars +108 | 4-3 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 33 m | Show
The Calgary Flames and Dallas Stars are both tied with 48 points in the Western Conference. That makes them both tied for that final 8th spot in the playoff picture. The winner today can take over sole position of the 8th spot in the West. The Flames are coming off a shut-out over Vancouver their last game, 1-0. They have also won three of their last four games. They are 4-6 their last 10 games overall. The Stars have been very good of late, coming off a win over Boston, 6-1. That makes them 5-1 in their last six games. Stars are a small dog at home here tonight. I'll take that with a team playing very well of late. Play Dallas.
01-30-22 | Seattle Kraken v. Rangers -183 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 2 h 55 m | Show
The NY Rangers are 5th in the Eastern Conference with 60 points. They have a +19 goal differential this season. They are also 13-4-2 at home. The Rangers look to snap a 2-game losing streak here today against the Kraken. The Rangers are coming off a home loss to Minnesota, 2-3. Still, they are 5-3 over their last eight games. Seattle playing the second game of this road trip as they played in Pittsburgh on Thursday and beat the Penguins, 2-1. Wins haven't been very plentiful for the Kraken, going 5-14 their last 19 games. They also sit next to last in the Western conference with just 32 points and a -39 goal differential. The only team worse in both categories are the Arizona Coyotes. I don't usually like laying big prices like this, but I don't see the Rangers losing here today on their home ice. Play NY Rangers.
01-27-22 | Predators v. Oilers -106 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 30 m | Show
The Nashville Predators have climbed into 2nd place in the NHL Western Conference with 57 points. They trail first place Colorado by 6-spoints. The Predators have won three straight games and are 6-3-1 their last 10 games. The Predators are coming off a win at Seattle, 4-2. The Edmonton Oilers have just 42 points and currently sit 11th in the West. They have won two games in a row including their last game at Vancouver, 3-2. The Oilers have won the last four in this series and the home teams is 4-1 the last five. Good value here with the Oilers tonight. Play Edmonton.
01-16-22 | Canucks +175 v. Capitals | 4-2 | Win | 175 | 3 h 56 m | Show
The Vancouver Canucks look to snap a 3-game losing streak here on Sunday as they head to Washington to play the Capitals. The Canucks are on a long road trip, playing their eighth game in a row on the road. They started out nicely, winning three of their first four on this trip before dropping three straight. The Caps snapped a four-game losing streak with a win on Saturday at the NY Islanders, 2-0. Now they have to turn right around and play again tonight. Both teams playing on no rest here today and that's tough on any team. For me, I can't pass on the big dog price with the Canucks. Take Vancouver.
12-20-21 | Wild v. Stars -111 | 4-7 | Win | 100 | 8 h 49 m | Show
Minnesota Wild looking to snap a three-game losing streak here today as they hit the road for a game at Dallas. the Wild had won eight in a row before this recent three game skid. They are coming off a loss at home to Buffalo, 2-3. The Dallas Stars also had to endure a losing streak, five games in fact before finally snapping that with a win over Chicago last game, 4-3. I'll take Dallas here tonight as they play at home against the struggling Wild. Play Dallas
12-07-21 | Predators v. Red Wings +113 | 5-2 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 7 m | Show
A pair of 13 win teams matchup here today as the Nashville Predators travel to take on the Detroit Red Wings. The Predators average 2.8 gpg and allow 2.8 gpg this season. Nashville hasn't won two games in a row since November 11 and 13th. They are coming off a win against Montreal that concluded a three game home stand. Detroit brings a four game win streak into tonight's contest. They are coming off a win at home over the Islanders, 4-3. In fact, they have won their last five home games. Getting Detroit as a small home dog here tonight where they have won five straight looks good to me. Play Detroit Red Wings.
11-16-21 | Oilers -109 v. Jets | 2-5 | Loss | -109 | 7 h 38 m | Show
The Edmonton Oilers are having a excellent season at 11-3 this year. They average a nice 4.2 gpg and allow 3.0 gpg. Their power play has been great, with a 41.9% score rate. The defensive power play also very good at just 11.9% goals allowed. The Oilers are coming off a win at St Louis, 5-4. The Winnipeg Jets are 8-6 on the season and average 3.3 gpg and allow 2.7 gpg. The Jets give up a lot on the power play too, with a 34.2% of goals allowed when shorthanded. Short price here on this very good Edmonton team tonight. I'll take them in this spot. Play Edmonton.
11-02-21 | Devils -125 v. Ducks | 0-4 | Loss | -125 | 10 h 2 m | Show
New Jersey Devils look to rebound from a loss last game at home to Columbus, 3-4. The Devils are 4-3 overall on the season and have scored at least three goals in each of their last three games. They will face a Anaheim team that has struggled to a 3-7 record thus far. The Ducks did snap a six game losing streak with a win at Montreal on Sunday night, 4-2. The Ducks have been playing a lot of games thus far, three games in four nights before having last night off. The defense has allowed 3.5 goals per game this year. Fatigue might be an issue here early in the season for Anaheim. I'll take the visitor in this one. Play New Jersey.
10-28-21 | Flyers v. Canucks -130 | 2-1 | Loss | -130 | 10 h 5 m | Show
Philadelphia travels North of the border here today to face the Vancouver Canucks. The Flyers are 3-2 on the season and have been scoring at a very good rate, 4.6 goals per game thus far. They face a 3-4 Canucks squad that isn't as prolific at scoring, just 2.9 goals per game. The Flyers are coming off a win at Edmonton last time out, 5-3. This will be the Flyers second matchup vs the Canucks. They opened the season with a 4-5 loss at home to Vancouver. The Canucks had their two-game win streak snapped at home to Minnesota last game, 2-3. They had just come off a 8-3 goal differential against Seattle and Chicago. I'm going to take Vancouver again here tonight. Play the Canucks.
10-18-21 | Seattle Kraken +120 v. Flyers | 1-6 | Loss | -100 | 19 h 59 m | Show
The expansion team Seattle Kraken have looked very competitive thus far in the young season. They opened with a loss at Vegas, 3-4, but were down 0-3 and tied the game in third period 3-3. The Kraken then got their first win over Nashville, 4-3 and lost a tough OT game to Columbus, 2-1. The Philadelphia Flyers have just one game played and that was a dismal performance at home against Vancouver where they gave up a bunch of goals in the 2nd period and needed 2 goals in the final 2 1/2 minute just to force OT where they lost 4-5. The defense wasn't good last year and didn't look good in game one. I'll take the Kraken here today as a small dog. Play Seattle.
07-07-21 | Canadiens v. Lightning -225 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 17 m | Show
Game 5 here in the NHL Stanley Cup Finals. The Tampa Bay Lightning are up 3-1 and came within an OT of sweeping the Canadiens. Montreal took game 4, 3-2 in OT but are just delaying the inevitable. The Lightning have outplayed them all series long and while I give the Canadiens credit for not rolling over in game four, this is the end of the line for them here tonight. The price is a bit high, but I'm going to lay it since I believe Tampa Bay will have little trouble tonight winning their 2nd straight Stanley Cup Championship. Play Tampa Bay.
07-05-21 | Lightning -152 v. Canadiens | 2-3 | Loss | -152 | 10 h 32 m | Show
The only thing left in this year's Stanley Cup finals is whether it's tonight or the next game before Tampa defends it's Stanley Cup Championship. The Lightning are up 3-0 and look unstoppable, even by Canadien goalie Carey Price. Goalie Andrei Vasilevsky has been amazing with a 15-6 record in the playoffs and a 1.94 GAA average. He's been even better against Montreal with a 3-0 record and 1.67 GAA. The only question is whether Montreal will play for some pride here in game four or pack it in. I believe they are done, they haven't cracked this Lightning team yet and won't do so here on Monday night either. Take the Lightning in a 4-0 sweep.
07-02-21 | Lightning -128 v. Canadiens | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 35 m | Show
The Montreal Canadiens backs are up against the wall as they play game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals here on Friday. The Habs lost games one and two at Tampa Bay, 1-5 and 1-3. The magic of Carey Price just hasn't been enough thus far. Now they face pretty much a do or die game three. The Habs can't afford to go down 0-3 in this series. However, they haven't been able to get past this Tampa team thus far. I'm going to take the Lightning here tonight as I look for a quick finals and second straight Stanley Cup title for Tampa Bay. Play Tampa Bay.
06-25-21 | Islanders v. Lightning -157 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 7 h 22 m | Show
The NY Islanders forced a game seven here tonight in Tampa Bay after taking game six in OT, 3-2. The Islanders trailed 1-2, but tied the game late and then won in OT to get to this decisive game 7. The winner will take on the Montreal Canadiens who advanced after their six game series win over the Vegas Golden Knights. Tampa hasn't lost consecutive postseason games in over two years. They are 13-0 in the game following a playoff loss dating back to last year's title run. That includes their 8-0 rout of the Islanders in game five. Have to side here with the defending Stanley Cup Champions on their home ice that don't lose back-to-back playoff games. Play Tampa Bay.
06-23-21 | Lightning -145 v. Islanders | 2-3 | Loss | -145 | 8 h 21 m | Show
The defending Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning looking all the part of a champion after demolishing the NY Islanders on Monday, 8-0. That humiliating defeat might have just been the daggar in the back to finish these Islanders. The Lightning are now just one game from returning to the Stanley Cup finals and after the last game I don't see much fight left in the Islanders. I'll lay the price here on the road with the Lightning. Play Tampa Bay.
06-19-21 | Lightning v. Islanders +115 | 2-3 | Win | 115 | 8 h 32 m | Show
The Islanders opened this series with a hard fought win at Tampa Bay, 2-1. The Lightning then took game two on their home ice, 4-2. The venue shifted to the Islanders home ice where they lost 1-2. This whole series has been low scoring and I look for that to continue here today. I also look for the Islanders to get the win and even this series at 2-2. Look for a low scoring game and an Islanders win. Play NY Islanders.
06-18-21 | Golden Knights -159 v. Canadiens | 2-3 | Loss | -159 | 8 h 8 m | Show
After their game on dominance, I stated that the Canadiens needed to do something different in game two. For Montreal, that means scoring first and that's just what they did. They hadn't trailed in their previous seven games before falling behind in game one to Vegas. That changed in game two where they scored first and built a 3-0 lead before Vegas mounted a comeback that fell short at 3-2. So here in game three, that first goal is key. The team that gets that goal has a high probability of winning this game. I believe that will be Vegas. They proved they can win on the road as they did at both Minnesota and Colorado. They will prove it again here in game three in Montreal. Play Vegas.
06-04-21 | Avalanche v. Golden Knights +103 | 2-3 | Win | 103 | 10 h 24 m | Show
VGK Golden Knights likely played their best game in the postseason in game two at Denver, but still lost 2-3 in OT. The Knights did just about everything right, but you can't fight the refs. The Knights had five penalties, the last coming in a controversial OT slashing that led to the game winning goal by Colorado. The Avs now take a 2-0 lead back to Vegas tonight at the T-Mobile Arena. The Knights also hit the post with five shots. That's five shots that came inches from goals. Marc-Andre Fluery played a great game but the power plays led to two of the three Avs goals. Tonight. VGK has to win or face going down 0-3 to the Stanley Cup favorites Colorado. T-Mobile Arena will at full 100% capacity for the first time in over a year and that means the place will be rocking. I'm taking the Knights here tonight as a even money dog or slightly better. Play Vegas.
06-02-21 | Canadiens v. Jets -136 | 5-3 | Loss | -136 | 10 h 50 m | Show
NHL 2nd round action here has the Winnipeg Jets hosting the Montreal Canadiens in game one of their seven game set. Despite losing their last five games of the regular season, the Canadiens pulled the upset in round one over the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Habs were down 1-3 in that series and came back for the improbable win. The Winnipeg Jets made quick work of the favored Edmonton Oilers in their first round series. The Jets swept the Oilers, 4-0, the last three all in OT. The Jets are the well rested team here, having swept their series while the Canadiens had to go seven. The Jets are also 6-3 vs the Canadiens this year. Good spot here for the Jets in game one. Play Winnipeg.
06-01-21 | Lightning v. Hurricanes -110 | 2-1 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 24 m | Show
The Carolina Hurricanes looking for a win in this second round NHL playoff series with the Lightning after losing game one, 1-2. Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevsky was the difference maker in game one for the Lightning, stopping 37 of 38 shots. Carolina opened at pick here in game two and has moved to a small favorite. I see that as value here as the Hurricanes are still an excellent team that knows they can't lost both games at home to start this series or face big troubles heading to Tampa Bay. I look for the Canes to bounce back with a win in game two. Play Carolina.
05-31-21 | Islanders v. Bruins -195 | 4-3 | Loss | -195 | 8 h 32 m | Show
Game two of this second round NHL Playoff series between the NY Islanders and the Boston Bruins. The Islanders dropped game one of this series 2-5. The Bruins are hot, winning five straight games in row. David Pastrnak had a hat trick. Goalie Tuukka Rask turned back 20 saves for the Bruins and improved to 5-1 in the postseason with a 1.84 GAA. The Islanders are now 0-4 in their last four games against the Bruins. They are also 4-10 in their last 14 road games. Bruins are 11-1 in their last 12 games at home. Stiff price here today, but the Bruins are the play for me. Play Boston.
05-30-21 | Golden Knights v. Avalanche -178 | Top | 1-7 | Win | 100 | 10 h 32 m | Show |
Vegas in a tough spot here in game one at Colorado to start this best of seven 2nd round series. Vegas had to go a difficult 7 games to win over Minnesota after leading 3-1 in that series. It was a physical series and likely took a lot out of Vegas. Now, they have to play arguably the best team in the NHL and Stanley Cup favorite in Colorado. They had just one day off to prepare and travel for tonight's game one. Meanwhile, the Avs swept St Louis in four straight and have lots of time off to rest and prepare. The only good news for Vegas was the return of Max Pacioretty who netted the game winning goal against the Wild in game seven. That being said though, Vegas in a letdown spot here today and this Colorado team isn't the team to have a letdown against. I don't usually like laying these kinds of prices, but the situation calls for here it here tonight. Play Colorado in game one.
05-30-21 | Lightning v. Hurricanes -105 | 2-1 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 20 m | Show
The Tampa Bay Lightning continue defense of their Stanley Cup Championship as they play at the Carolina Hurricanes in this opening game of the NHL 2nd round playoffs. Tampa Bay got here by beating the Florida Panthers and the Hurricanes defeated Nashville. This is the fifth time in the last seven seasons that the Lightning have made the second round of the playoffs. Rookie Alex Nedeljkovic has started all six of the Hurricanes' postseason games, with a 2.22 GAA and .922 save percentage. He is also 2-1 in the past against the Lightning. The Canes average the third highest goals in the postseason (3.67) and allow the 6th lowest (2.67). The Lightning have lost three of last four visits to Carolina and I like today's price on the host. Play Carolina.
05-23-21 | Oilers -127 v. Jets | 4-5 | Loss | -127 | 9 h 58 m | Show
The Edmonton Oilers are the higher seed of this pairing with the Winnipeg Jets, but you wouldn't know it after the first two games. The Jets stole both games in Edmonton, including a 1-0 overtime victory in game two. The Oilers NHL leading point scorer, Connor McDavid, has struggled to get anything going thus far in the playoffs. He and the rest of the Oilers had better find some urgency here in game three or they will face the dreaded 0-3 hole in this series. Winnipeg's defense has been stellar through the first two games. While the Jets haven't scored much either, their goals have been well timed. This is really do or die game three for the Oilers. McDavid and Leion Draisaitl have no points and that has to change today. I have to give Edmonton a shot here as they know this is the game that means everything to them at this point. Play Edmonton.
05-23-21 | Hurricanes -140 v. Predators | 3-4 | Loss | -140 | 4 h 58 m | Show
The Nashville Predators can even their best of seven series with the Carolina Hurricanes at 2-2 after trailing 0-2 coming back to the Music City. The Canes dropped a double-OT game in game three, 4-5. That was the third consecutive loss for the Canes at Nashville. The Preds expect North of 12k fans here today and that will help them out. Good price here on the Canes as I fully expect them to take game four and a commanding 3-1 lead in this series. Play Carolina.
05-22-21 | Panthers v. Lightning -137 | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 3 h 42 m | Show
Florida Panthers got a win finally in OT of game game three to get back in this series as they are down 1-2 to the Lightning. Tampa looks for that home win here today in this early start to take a commanding 3-1 lead. Still, the Lightning have had their way with their intrastate rivals, going 10-3 over the last 13 matchups. The Lightning are too good a home team to lose two in a row on the home ice. I'll take the Lightning to bounce back here on early Saturday. Play Tampa Bay.
05-21-21 | Jets v. Oilers -169 | 1-0 | Loss | -169 | 8 h 21 m | Show
The Edmonton Oilers boast the NBA's top point scorer in Connor McDavid who tallied over 100 points this year. That didn't help them in game one of this series, as the Oilers dropped game one at home to the Jets, 1-4. McDavid and Leion Draisaitl, who normally carry the Oilers, did little in game one. Winnipeg had lost nine of their last 10 games before winning the last two games. I can't see the Oilers dropping two in a row here at home, and you can bet McDavid won't be held in check again here tonight. Play Edmonton.
05-20-21 | Golden Knights v. Wild -102 | Top | 5-2 | Loss | -102 | 10 h 42 m | Show |
The Vegas Golden Knights and Minnesota Wild play game three of their best of seven series here tonight. The Series moves from Vegas to Minnesota with the series tied at 1-1. Minnesota won game one in OT, 1-0 and then lost game two 1-3. They led 1-0 in game two in the 2nd period before giving up three straight gaols. Minnesota goalie Talbot has been great between the pipes, having to stop a myriad of shots from Vegas. Vegas has rotated goalies most of the year, but Marc-Andre Flury has started both games for Vegas in the postseason. Fluery is 36 years old but still a great goaltender and having one of his best seasons ever. Vegas has been without their leading scorer in Max Pacioretty. Pacioretty is day-to-day but his absence definitely hurts this Vegas team. Captain Mark Stone hasn't looked as sharp since Pacioretty has been out. There is only one team Vegas has a losing record against this year and that is Minnesota. The Wild have given Vegas fits ever since Vegas came into the league four years ago. I'll take Minnesota here tonight.
05-18-21 | Lightning v. Panthers +112 | 3-1 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 55 m | Show
Game 2 of this Florida series between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers. The Panthers had their six game win streak snapped in game one of this best of seven series with the Lightning, 4-5. The Lightning saw its 3-game losing streak snapped with that win in game one. The Panthers have been excellent at home this year and I fully expect them to bounce back here in game two and pull out the win. Play Florida.
05-18-21 | Islanders v. Penguins -132 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 25 m | Show
The Pittsburgh Penguins look to even this best of seven series with the NY Islanders here tonight at one game apiece. The Islanders took game one of this series with a 4-3 overtime win. The Penguins (no 1 East Seed) needs to win this home ice game tonight or face an 0-2 deficit and loss of home ice all together. They have already lost that edge, but that edge can become a mountain with another setback here tonight. The Penguins have not been good in the postseason, winning just one of their last 11 in the postseason. The Islanders have not been all that good on the road with just three wins in their last 11. I'm taking Pittsburgh to get this series all evened up tonight. Play Pittsburgh.
05-12-21 | Oilers -136 v. Canadiens | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 4 h 39 m | Show
Done to just one or two games left in the regular season as the Edmonton Oilers take on the Montreal Canadiens. The Oils are going to take 2nd place in the North and that's set. The Canadiens are set solidly in 4th place and will face Toronto in the first round of the playoffs. The Oilers have won two straight games and are 7-3 in their last 10. The Canadiens have lost four straight and are just 2-8 their last 10. Both teams headed in opposite directions. I'll take the Oilers tonight.
05-11-21 | Bruins v. Capitals +103 | 1-2 | Win | 103 | 8 h 53 m | Show
Just a couple games left in the NHL regular season and the Boston Bruins and Washington Capitals are separated by just two points in the East division. The Capitals are 2nd with 75 points, two points back of first place Pittsburgh, and Boston is in 3rd, two points back of Washington. Boston won on Monday at home over the NY Islanders, 3-2. These teams finish their respective regular seasons against each other with a pair of games. They conclude their season on Saturday. That makes each of these games big since they are just 2-points apart. Difference here is that the Bruins forced to play last night while the Caps have had two days off. I'm going to take the more rested team at home here tonight. Play Washington.
05-10-21 | Islanders v. Bruins -159 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 53 m | Show
Just a few games left in the regular NHL season and while every division is locked into their teams making the postseason, there is still room for positioning. That's the case for the Boston Bruins here tonight. The Bruins are third in the East Division with 71 points. They are four points back of 2nd place Washington and just one point ahead of fourth place NY Islanders. The Bruins are coming off a loss and are 6-3-1 overall their last 10. They will face the team right behind them tonight, the Islanders. The winner here tonight moves into 3rd place. The Islanders are coming off a win over New Jersey, but are just 4-4-2 over their last 10. I'm on the side of the home team Bruins tonight who are playing just a bit better than the visitors. Play Boston.
05-05-21 | Kings v. Coyotes -132 | 4-2 | Loss | -132 | 11 h 24 m | Show
Only a handful of games left in the NHL regular season and two teams still alive to make a playoff spot meet tonight as the Coyotes host the Kings. The LA Kings likely are done, they sit nine-points back of 4th place St Louis for that final spot. However, Arizona has a much better chance, sitting five points back of the Blues. The Coyotes have lost two straight and are 3-6-1 over their last 10 games. The Kings are 4-6 over their last 10 games. Neither team likely will gain that fourth spot, but Arizona needs this one much more than the Kings do. Play Arizona.
05-03-21 | Jets -148 v. Senators | 1-2 | Loss | -148 | 9 h 52 m | Show
The NHL is down to a final few games in their regular season. The Winnipeg Jets are in 3rd place in the All-Canadian North Division. The jets have 57 points, five back of 2nd place Edmonton and just two ahead of fourth place Montreal. The Jets look to snap a 6-game losing streak here tonight at Ottawa. The Senators have been eliminated from the playoffs with just 43 points. The Senators have the worst goal differential in the division with a -36. Winnipeg doesn't want to fall to fourth place and with that I'll lay the money on the road with them here tonight. Play Winnipeg.
05-01-21 | Panthers -147 v. Blackhawks | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 21 m | Show
NHL Central action here has the Chicago Blackhawks hosting the Florida Panthers tonight. The Panthers have locked-up a playoff spot as they sit 2nd in the division. However, they still can get top spot as they trail first place Carolina by just two-points. They also need to keep Tampa Bay in third, which they lead by just one game. The Chicago Blackhawks are not officially eliminated from the playoffs, but time is running out fast. They Hawks trail fourth place Nashville by six points. They have also lost three straight as they come into tonight's game. For me, the Hawks know they are done and that means the Panthers have a bit more to play for tonight. Play Florida.
04-30-21 | Jets v. Canadiens -104 | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 7 h 34 m | Show
All Canadian North action here on Friday has Winnipeg taking on the Canadiens. Winnipeg is 3rd in the North with 57 points, three back of second place Edmonton. The Jets look to snap a five-game losing streak here tonight. The Montreal Canadiens are 4th in the North, six points back of the Jets and four points ahead of fifth place Calgary. Winnipeg had to play last night in Edmonton. During this five game losing streak they have scored more than one goal in one game. The other four combined they have three goals. I'm going to take the host in this one as the Jets are playing too poorly right now to back. Play Montreal.
04-29-21 | Flames +115 v. Oilers | 3-1 | Win | 115 | 11 h 40 m | Show
NHL North action here tonight has the Edmonton Oilers hosting the Calgary Flames. Calgary is 5-5 over their last 10 games and lost last time out to Montreal, 1-2. The Flames need wins and fast as time is running out on the regular season. The Flames sit in that 5th spot, trailing 4th place Montreal by six points. Edmonton is playing the 2nd of a back-to-back spot here tonight after winning at Winnipeg last night, 3-1. The Oilers are 2nd in the North and will try to hold that spot over third place Winnipeg. No chance to catch division leader Toronto who has seven more points. I like the Flames here tonight as Edmonton has to play back-to-back. Play Calgary.
04-28-21 | Avalanche v. Golden Knights -136 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 5 m | Show
The Vegas Golden Knights and Colorado Avalanche are the top two teams in the West division. The Knights lead the division with 70 points and Colorado is right behind with 66 points and three games in hand. So these matchups in the final games could be what determines the team that wins the division. The Golden Knights have the best goals against in the NHL this year. They have two solid starting goalies and a load of talent. The Avalanche, who are 7-3-0 over their last 10 games, have speed to burn on this team. This is going to be a great matchup here tonight in Vegas. I'll take the host in this one. Play Vegas.
04-28-21 | Blues v. Wild -149 | 4-3 | Loss | -149 | 8 h 35 m | Show
The Minnesota Wild have secured a playoff spot as they sit 3rd in the West Division with 65 points. They trail 2nd place Colorado by just one point. The St Louis Blues hold the 4th and final West playoff spot. However, they hold just a one-game lead over 5th place Arizona. The Wild have been hot, winning seven straight games and going 8-1-1 over their last 10 games. The Blues have been inconsistent of late, going 5-5-0 their last 10. I like the Wild here tonight. They still have that 2nd place spot to play for. Play Minnesota.
04-27-21 | Panthers -111 v. Predators | 7-4 | Win | 100 | 6 h 21 m | Show
NHL Central action here tonight has the 2nd place Florida Panthers taking on the 4th place Nashville Predators. The Panthers have 67 points and trail first place Carolina by just two points. They lead third place Tampa Bay by just one point. Meanwhile, Nashville has 56 points and leads 5th place Dallas by just two points. The cutoff for a playoff spot is fourth place. I'm looking for that bounce back here tonight has the Panthers lost last game to these Predators, 1-4. Play Florida.
04-25-21 | Bruins v. Penguins +108 | 0-1 | Win | 108 | 5 h 34 m | Show
East Division action today has the Boston Bruins playing at the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Bruins sit 4th in the East, with a six-point lead for that final playoff spot over the NY Rangers. The Pittsburgh Penguins are 2nd in the East with 65 points, two points ahead of third place NY Islanders. The Bruins could be without Center Patrice Bergeron today who has a lower body injury and is questionable. The Bruins had their six-game win streak snapped last time out at Buffalo, 4-6. They are now 7-3-0 over their last 10 games. The Penguins bring a 3-game win streak into today's contest and are 7-2-1 over their last 10 games. Penguins a slight dog at home here today against a team with fewer points. I'll take the home dog here. Play Pittsburgh.
04-23-21 | Predators -128 v. Blackhawks | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 3 m | Show
The Nashville Predators are fighting for the 4th and last playoff spot in the Central Division. The Predators have 52 points, but hold just a 2-point lead over Dallas and 3-point lead over Chicago. The Blackhawks also need tonight's game if they hope to climb back into the playoff picture. The Hawks are 5-5-0 over their last 10 games while the Predators are 6-3-1. This is the third game in a row between these teams with Nashville winning at home in game one, 5-2 and then losing at Chicago in the last game, 5-4. I look for Nashville to bounce back here tonight. Play Nashville.
04-22-21 | Avalanche v. Blues +142 | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 10 m | Show
The Colorado Avalanche have fallen to 2nd place in the West because first place Vegas has more games in hand and has won eight straight games. Still these two top West teams have meetings left that likely will determine the West Champion. St Louis is fighting for its life in the West with the Arizona Coyotes. The two teams keep flopping positions with the Blues in 5th right now, one point back of Arizona. The Blues have lost two straight and are 3-6-1 over their last 10. The Avalanche have won four straight and are 9-1-0 their last 10. Avalanche the better team and hotter team, but St Louis is a nice home dog here tonight and anything can happen in the NHL right now. I'll take a shot here with the live dog. Play St Louis.
04-22-21 | Flyers v. Rangers -169 | 3-2 | Loss | -169 | 5 h 10 m | Show
The New York Rangers are sitting just outside the playoff picture in the East with 52 points. They trail fourth place Boston by 6-points so that makes every game almost a must win for the Rangers with just about 10 games to play. The Philadelphia Flyers are in 6th place, five points back of the Rangers and likely won't have enough games left to get into the top four. Philly has lost two in a row and is 3-4-3 their last 10 games. The Rangers are 6-2-2 their last 10 games. This game means more to the Rangers who realistically can still make the playoffs. Play New York Rangers.
04-21-21 | Canadiens v. Oilers -127 | 4-3 | Loss | -127 | 9 h 10 m | Show
The Edmonton Oilers are in 3rd place in the All Canadian North division. The Oilers are just one point back of 2nd place Winnipeg and five points back of first place Toronto. The Oilers have also won two straight games and are 6-2-2 over their last 10 games. The Montreal Canadiens are holding onto that 4th and final playoff spot in the North. The Canadiens have 47 points and lead fifth place Calgary by six points. They trail third place Edmonton by nine points. Not a lot for the Canadiens to play for here as they looks solidly in fourth place. However, the Oilers can climb into 2nd tonight and inch closer to that top spot in the North with a win here. Play Edmonton.
04-19-21 | Wild -143 v. Coyotes | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 18 m | Show
Last stretch of the NHL regular season and these West teams both looking for wins. The Minnesota Wild are in 3rd place with 57 points and look pretty solid at that place. However, the Arizona Coyotes are in 4th place just one point ahead of St Louis and four points ahead of San Jose for that final playoff spot. The Coyotes are just 4-6-0 over their last 10 games while the Wild have won three straight and are 6-3-1 over their last 10. I like the Wild, they are a solid team with a pair of excellent goaltenders. Play Minnesota.
04-17-21 | Blues -132 v. Coyotes | 2-3 | Loss | -132 | 6 h 19 m | Show
As the NHL enters the final leg of the regular season the NHL West St Louis Blues are fighting for that final playoff spot. The Blues are 4th right now, but hold just a one point advantage over Arizona and three points over San Jose. That makes today's game with the Coyotes huge in the playoff hopes of these teams. The Coyotes have lost five straight games as they come into tonight's contest. The Blue are not playing well either with a 3-6-1 record their last 10. This is a tough spot for both teams and very important. I'll take the Blues here today as the Coyotes look to be self destructing.
04-14-21 | Flames +144 v. Canadiens | 4-1 | Win | 144 | 6 h 3 m | Show
All Canadian North action here tonight has the Calgary Flames playing at the Montreal Canadiens. The Flames are fifth right now in the North and that means they are six points back of the Canadiens for that 4th and final playoff spot. The Flames have improved, winning their last two games Toronto and Edmonton by a combined 8-2 score. The Canadiens are 5-4-1 over their last 10 games and while the cushion is six points, this is a crucial game for the Flames. They can ill afford to lose to team ahead of them in the playoff race. I'll take the dog price here with the Flames who need this game. Play Calgary.
04-12-21 | Maple Leafs -130 v. Canadiens | 2-4 | Loss | -130 | 10 h 31 m | Show
The all Canadian North Division is led by the Toronto Maple Leafs with 59 points. The Leafs are 9-0-1 over their last 10 games and have won six straight games. They have pulled away from 2nd place Winnipeg by six points. Tonight the Leafs play at Montreal. The Canadiens have 43 points and a solid hold on that fourth and final playoff spot. The Canadiens have lost three straight and are 4-4-2 over their last 10 games. Leafs one of the hottest teams right now in all of the NHL. I'll take them and lay the price on the road tonight. Play Toronto.
04-07-21 | Coyotes v. Kings -111 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 13 h 48 m | Show
NHL West action here tonight has the Phoenix Coyotes taking on the LA Kings. The Arizona Coyotes are currently sitting in that all important 4th position, holding a 5-point lead over 5th place St Louis. The Coyotes have won three straight games and are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. The LA Kings playoff hopes are fading fast as they are in next to last in the West with 34 points. That makes every game against a team like Phoenix very important to them. These teams have split their last four matches with the Coyotes taking the last game 5-2. I look for LA to bounce back and split these two games with the Coyotes. Play LA
04-05-21 | Golden Knights -133 v. Blues | 6-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 55 m | Show
The Vegas Golden Knights (VGK) have been atop the NHL West Division for most of the season. However, they have fallen four points back of the Colorado Avalanche because they bring a 4-game losing streak into today's contest. Now they face a St Louis club that is also struggling, losers of six straight games. The Blues have dropped out of the playoff picture due to that losing streak as they sit in 5th place, 3-points back of Arizona. Both clubs in desperate need of a win here tonight. I will take the VGK. Play Vegas.
04-02-21 | Blues +210 v. Avalanche | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 54 m | Show
St Louis in desperate times for a win as their 4th place playoff position is in jeopardy as they lead Arizona by just one point now in the West. St Louis has lost four straight and is just 2-5-3 their last 10. Won't be easy here tonight against co-West leader Colorado. The Avs are tied with Vegas with 50 points atop the West. Colroado has won two straight and is 8-0-2 over their last 10 games. St Louis still a quality team and at this big dog price they are worth a shot. Take the Blues tonight.
03-29-21 | Islanders v. Penguins -104 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 25 m | Show
Two of the top three teams in the NHL East matchup here on Monday as the No 2 Islanders take on No 3 Penguins. The Islanders have 48 points and trail first place Washington by just 2-points. The Islanders are coming off a loss, but are 7-3-0 over their last 10 games. The Pittsburgh Penguins have 46 points, trailing the Islanders by just two points. A outright win here tonight by Pitt can put them into 2nd place. Pittsburgh has been hot, winning three straight and going 7-2-1 over their last 10 games. Great odds here tonight with the Penguins at home just a 1.10 favorite. I'll take those odds. Play Pittsburgh.
03-19-21 | Rangers v. Capitals -129 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 7 h 3 m | Show
East Division matchup here today as the 1st place Washington Capitals host the 6th place NY Rangers. The Caps lead the division with 42 points. They are 9-1-0 in their last 10 games and have won six straight. The Rangers will have to improve if they hope to crack the top four in the division for a playoff spot. The Rangers have 28 points and trail 4th place Boston by 8-points. New York is 5-4-1 over their last 10 games. Caps laying a decent price at home tonight. I'll take the first place team. Play Washington.
03-15-21 | Flyers -115 v. Rangers | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 38 m | Show
East Division has the number five team, Philly, taking on the sixth seed NY Rangers. The Flyers have lost two games, both to the Washington Capitals. They are 5-5-0 in their last 10 games. The Rangers are also 5-5-0 in their last 10 games. The Rangers are coming off a 4-0 win over Boston. It was the team's first win in their last four games. The Flyers do well when a road favorite, going 22-7 the last 29 in that role. The Flyers are also 15-7 in their last 22 road games. Philly is 10-2 the last 12 overall vs the Rangers and have taken the last four in New York. Play Philadelphia.
03-13-21 | Capitals v. Flyers -115 | 5-4 | Loss | -115 | 7 h 3 m | Show
East division action here this evening has the 2nd place Washington Capitals taking on the fifth place Philadelphia Flyers. The Caps have 36 points and trail first place Islanders by 2-points. They have won three straight and are 8-1-1 in their last 10 games. The Flyers have 29 points and are 5-5-0 in their last 10 games. The Caps beat the Flyers a couple of days ago so the bounce back comes tonight for Philly. Philly usually bounces back off of losses by 2-goals or more, going 5-0 the last five times. Philly has won five of the last seven in this series and with a good price on the home team tonight I'll take them. Play Philly.
03-12-21 | Golden Knights v. Blues -109 | 5-4 | Loss | -109 | 9 h 19 m | Show
VGK hitting some hard times this last week. The Knights have the most points in the West division, but that likely to change as they face 2nd place St Louis. The Knights lost both games last week at Minnesota with their captain and best player Mark Stone missing a game with a back injury and their best defensemen in Alex Petrangelo out with a wrist injury. Now, the NHL arguably best goaltender in Marc Andre-Fluery is out with Covid protocols. They are already missing goal Mark Lehner with a should injury. They had to bring up both goalies from their minor league Henderson Silver Knight team. This is bad for the team as they remain on the road here tonight. I look for the Blues to take this game tonight against a hurting and Covid strikin Knights team. Play St Louis.
03-11-21 | Canadiens v. Flames +101 | 1-2 | Win | 101 | 9 h 20 m | Show
Montreal plays the 2nd of their back-to-back nights here on Thursday. The Canadiens played last night in Vancouver, beating the Canucks 5-1. Now they make the trip to Calgary to play the Flames. The Canadiens are in 4th place in the all Canada North division. They have 31 points and lead fifth place Vancouver by 5-points. The Calgary Flames are 6th in the division with 25 points. They have lost two games and are 3-5-2 in their last 10 games. Difficult to play back-to-back nights in the NHL. I'm going to take the Flames here tonight who need a win. Play Calgary.
03-09-21 | Rangers v. Penguins -149 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 41 m | Show
East division action here today in the NHL has the Pittsburgh Penguins hosting the NY Rangers. Top four teams advance to the playoffs and right now that would not include the Rangers, who sit in 6th place with 23 points. They trail fourth place Pittsburgh by six points so tonight's game is invaluable to them. The Penguins holding onto that fourth place spot, just 2-points ahead of Philly. Pittsburgh has won two straight games and seven of their last 10, including their last game against these Rangers, 5-1. They have now scored at least four goals in each of their last four games. The Rangers had their three-game win streak snapped by Pittsburgh. The Rangers hope to return to that form here tonight. For me, I like the host in this one to keep their hot ways going. Play Pittsburgh.
03-03-21 | Wild +126 v. Golden Knights | 1-5 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 11 m | Show
These teams are two of the tops in the NHL West with Vegas in 1st and Minnesota now in 3rd. Just one point separate them on Monday when they met in Vegas. The Wild led 4-2 late into the 3rd period before Vegas scored two goals, the last with just 42 seconds. Then in OT Vegas got the win as their captain Mark Stone led the 2-1 break for the winning goal and his 5th assist of the night. Marc Andre Fluery has been great in goal, but he allowed four past him on Monday. Fluery leads the league in save percentage and goals against. The Wild have been one of the hottest teams in the league before that loss. They had Cam Tabot in goal who has been decent, but not their best. That goes to Kaapo Kahkonen. Kahkonen has been amazing in February, going 4-1 with a 1.82 goals against average and a .934 save percentage. The Wild had a long 13 days off due to Covid and really they gave away Monday's game. With Kahkonen back between the pipes tonight I'll take the Wild as a plus money dog. Play Minnesota.
03-01-21 | Wild v. Golden Knights -136 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 15 m | Show
The Vegas Golden Knights will see something they haven't seen in almost a year tonight. Fans! That's right, there won't be many, but some fans will be allowed back into the T-Mobile Arena tonight. The fans will get to see their first place West Knights tonight look to hold onto that place against the 2nd place Minnesota Wild. The KNights have 25 points while the Wild are just one point back with 24. Both teams are hot, having each won seven of their last 10 games. Marc Andre Flurry has found new life this year as he's been amazing between the pipes as Lehner has been battling injuries. For me, the few fans back will pump some adrenaline into this Knights team here tonight and I expect a VGK win. Play Vegas.
02-28-21 | Red Wings v. Blackhawks -190 | 2-7 | Win | 100 | 7 h 20 m | Show
An old NHL rivalry here today between two of the first in the NHL as Detroit travels to Chicago. Both teams in that Central division with the Hawks in 4th place with 26 points (only 3 back of 1st place Tampa Bay) and Detroit in 7th place with 17 points. Detroit did beat the Hawks in their last game, 5-3, for their second win a row. However, they now have to play that dreaded bounce back game and that hasn't been very successful. The Hawks saw their two game win streak snapped by Detroit. They have also won five of their last seven games. Chicago in perfect setup here for a bounce back win. Lay the price, take the win with Chicago.
02-27-21 | Hurricanes -108 v. Panthers | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 7 h 26 m | Show
NHL Central division action has 1st place Florida Panthers hosting the 4th place Carolina Hurricanes. The Panthers are 13-4-2 with 28 points and have won seven of their last 10 games. The Hurricanes aren't far back with a 12-6-1 with 25 points. These teams had their first two games postponed back in January and then got one game played on Feb 17, with Florida winning 4-3 in OT. They will try for two more games here tonight and Monday. These teams very evenly matched as the oddsmaker has indicated with the visitor the favorite. For once I agree with the oddsmaker and will be on the visitor. Play Carolina.
02-27-21 | Maple Leafs v. Oilers +105 | 4-0 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 26 m | Show
The NHL North is the All-Canadian division and today we get the 1st place Toronto Maple Leafs playing at the 2nd place Edmonton Oilers. The Leafs are 15-4-2 with 32 points, while the Oilers are 14-8 with 28 points. Both teams are hot, with Toronto going 7-2-1 in their last 10 games and Edmonton having won five straight games and eight of their last 10 games. The Oilers are playing too well to be the dog here at home on Saturday. I'll take them as they edge closer to 1st place Toronto. Play Edmonton.
02-26-21 | Kings v. Wild -172 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 49 m | Show
The LA Kings have moved into a tie for 3rd place in the NHL West division. The Kings have 21 points with a 9-6-3 record. The Kings have also won six straight games. The Minnesota Wild are in 5th in the West with 20 points and a 10-6-0 record. The Wild have won four straight games. The Wild have not allowed more than two goals in any of their four during this win streak. The Kings in the midst of this road trip play their fifth away from home here tonight. Both teams playing well, but I have to believe the Kings are getting road weary. I'll take the home team tonight. Play Minnesota.
02-24-21 | Kings v. Blues -146 | 2-1 | Loss | -146 | 6 h 57 m | Show
Western Division action here tonight has the 4th place LA Kings taking on the 2nd place St Louis Blues. The Kings are 8-6-3 with 19 points and just 4 points back of 1st place Vegas. The Kings have won five straight games and have a +6 goal differential. The St Louis Blues are in 2nd place, just one point back of Vegas. They have lost two straight games. The Blues lost to the Kings here in the first game of this back-to-back series, 0-3. Don't expect that here tonight as the Blues bounce back for the win. Take St Louis.
02-20-21 | Kings +138 v. Coyotes | 4-2 | Win | 138 | 7 h 15 m | Show
The Arizona Coyotes and LA Kings are neck and neck in the middle of the West division. The Coyotes are 4th with 17 points and are 5-3-2 in their last 10 games. The Kings are right behind them with 15 points and 5-4-1 their last 10 games. The Kings are also riding a 3-game win streak. The Kings are a nice dog here today and with these teams being pretty equal, I'll take the live dog. Play LA Kings.
02-18-21 | Islanders +111 v. Penguins | 1-4 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 22 m | Show
The NY Islanders are 2nd in the East Division, three points back of the Boston Bruins. The Islanders are 8-3-2 on the season with 19 points and have won three straight games. The Pittsburgh Penguins are 5th in the East with 15 points and a 7-6-1 record. Pittsburgh has a -6 goal differential this season. The Islanders have not only won three straight, but five of their last six games. During this nice streak they have not allowed more than three goals and they have held three of the six to one goal or none. The Penguins are coming off a loss to the Capitals, 1-3 after beating them the game before, 6-3. I like the visitor in this one. Play the Islanders.
02-17-21 | Jets v. Oilers -136 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 44 m | Show
All the Canadian teams this year are playing in the North Division. Tonight, the 3rd place Winnipeg Jets take on the 4th place Edmonton Oilers. The Jets are 9-5-1 with 19 points while Edmonton is 9-8 with 18 points. Winnipeg took the first game of this set with the Oilers in Edmonton, 6-5 in a shootout. The only series that the Jets have swept thus far was against the worst team in the NHL in Ottawa. Edmonton will bounce back tonight and take this second game. Play the Oilers.
02-13-21 | Flames v. Canucks +120 | 1-3 | Win | 120 | 10 h 32 m | Show
All of the Canadian teams are in one division this year, the North. That means they won't play a USA based team until the playoffs. That said, the 5th place Calgary Flames take on the 6th place Vancouver Canucks tonight. Calgary is 7-5-1 with 15 points and have won three straight games. Vancouver is 6-11 with 12 points and have lost six straight games. Most of those losses for Vancouver have come on the road (5), though they are coming home loss to the Flames, 1-3. I like the Canucks to bounce back here tonight and get that win over the Flames in their 2nd matchup in a row. Play Vancouver. |
