Taking MIAMI. Took these guys last night, will come back on their rookie star. This kid has been dealing. What is there to say - if the Reds didn't have their own star, this rookie would be getting a lot more love. At this price, have to take a good Marlins club. Charlie Morton is a steady vet, but he has give up at least 3 runs in 4 of his last 5 starts. Miami can get to him. Eury gave up 3 in 1 start and then 4 in his other 8! 4* Money Maker MIAMI MARLINS |

Astros v. Rangers -118 | | 2-5 |
Win | 100 | 23 h 33 m | Show |
Taking the RANGERS. I like Hunter Brown a lot - but Eovaldi has been an absolute beast this season. A 1.00 WHIP on the year, .98 here at home with a .213 BA Against. I know Houston just trucked the Cards, but this staff is better. That is why STL is sitting in last place. And before that offensive explosion, the Astros hadn't been exactly raking the ball this season. I don't want to say bad things about Hunter. I have a ROY Ticket on him! He hasn't been brutal home or away. Kid is exactly as advertised. He is good. But I think the Rangers bat are a tad better. 4* Money Maker TEXAS RANGERS |

Yankees -120 v. Cardinals | | 4-11 |
Loss | -120 | 21 h 3 m | Show |
Taking the YANKEES. As much as I bash this bunch - you have the edge on the mound today. STL is in last place. They are in a free fall of a season. NY has somehow managed to win and be "good" despite a terrible lineup and missing most of the rotation for long stretches. Your ace has been Cy Young worthy. Get it done vs a bad team. 4* Money Maker NY YANKEES |

Padres v. Reds +140 | | 12-5 |
Loss | -100 | 21 h 30 m | Show |
Taking the REDS. I don't care who is pitching for San Diego, they have no right being a favorite of this price over anyone. Ok, maybe Oakland or KC. Not a team that has won 14 of 16 heading into Friday. Not a team that is tied for 1st Place. If you want to say Williamson is bad. Fine. Not going to put a fight there. Cincy can score. Padres have shown a problem hitting and scoring runs. Slowly becoming a Cincy is for real believer. 4* Money Maker CINCINNATI REDS |

Twins v. Orioles -107 | | 8-1 |
Loss | -107 | 24 h 7 m | Show |
Taking the ORIOLES. Not going to try to overthink this one, or this series. Baltimore the better team. 3rd most Home Wins in all of MLB. Twins Under . 500 on the season. Under .500 on the road. They are hitting .218 away from home which is better than only the lowly Tigers. 4* Money Maker BALTIMORE ORIOLES |

Loss | -138 | 23 h 35 m | Show |
Taking the BLUE JAYS. One - we have Berrios throwing like a champ right now. His last 10 starts - 61 innings 18 runs. Pretty efficient. At home, 6 starts a 1.07 WHIP and 2.48 ERA. More than acceptable vs a struggle Red Sox offense hitting .228 away from Fenway. Blue Jays one of the better hitting lineups vs lefties, and the Big Maple, James Paxton doesn't scare me. 4* Money Maker TORONTO BLUE JAYS |
06-30-23 |
Brewers v. Pirates +125 | | 7-8 |
Win | 125 | 23 h 52 m | Show |
Taking the PIRATES. Off course they win when I don't bet them. 4 in a row for this streaking bunch. Milwaukee coming off the Mets - and let's be honest, this isn't a very good ballclub. The Brewers are the 2nd worse hitting club in all of MLB (Oakland #1) with their .226 clip. Barely better on the road at .229 - Look, Bido is nothing fancy. He will go 5, strike out 6, give up 6 hits and 2 runs. Pittsburgh has been feisty as heck though. Down 4-0, they could have mailed it. Nothing wrong winning 2 of 3 from San Diego. They didn't quit and pulled it out late. I don't see that kind of heart in the Brewers. Milwaukee 1-8 in Peralta's last 9 road starts, and they are favored tonight? 5.94 road ERA and a .285 BA Against, 1.62 WHIP. Give me the home dogs on a win streak please. 4* Money Maker PITTSBURGH PIRATES |

Nationals +151 v. Phillies | | 2-1 |
Win | 151 | 22 h 60 m | Show |
Taking the NATS. Pretty sure we get Gray here. He has been pretty good on the road posting a 2.48 ERA in 10 starts a decent .233 BA Against. Washington one of the better hitting teams vs lefties at a .281 clip. We get the added bonus of a day off. Philly playing the Cubbies. We either get them off a loss, or full of themselves winning 4 in a row. There is no RL posted as I write this. The Nationals are 29-11 in Run Lines on the Road if that is something you are more comfortable with. I am going for the bigger payday on the ML. 4* Money Maker WASHINGTON NATIONALS |

Marlins v. Red Sox -115 | | 2-0 |
Loss | -115 | 22 h 24 m | Show |
Taking BOSTON. Have to back Bello at this price. The youngster has really pitched well this season. You take out his first 2 starts - 7.1 innings 8 ERs -- and this kid has gone 59 innings with 16 ERs and the 3.27 ERA drops to 2.44. June his is posting a .98 WHIP and .194 BAA. For Miami, as much as I like Luzardo going back to his Oakland days, the guy is bad on the road. Opposing hitters raking him for a .309 BA and those hits are producing runs, 5.45 ERA. The Red Sox as #1 in team BA at home at .290. I thought about RL +160 here also. 4* Money Maker BOSTON RED SOX |

Taking the BREWERS. David Peterson as a favorite - wow. Look. I totally understand that Milwaukee can't hit a lefty (2nd worse .217), but this cat throws batting practice. This is his first start since May 15th. Well, those last 4 starts - 24 innings 35 hits 27 runs! Mets are no great shakes at the dish. They face Teheran who has been nothing short of great since joining the rotation - .192 BAA .88 WHIP 1.53 ERA. Getting plus money with a guy who has given up 6 Earned Runs in 6 starts. Absolutely. 4* Money Maker MILWUKEE BREWERS |

Padres v. Pirates +161 | | 4-9 |
Win | 161 | 25 h 9 m | Show |
Taking the PIRATES. How the heck is San Diego getting this kind of respect? I mean - I get it, Pirates in a free fall since their hot start. But have the Padres really done enough to be this big a road favorite? They are under .500 on the season and on the road. Darvish has a road ERA of 6.16 in 7 starts. I will also be on the UNDER in this game as well San Diego has trouble hitting on the road (4th worse all MLB .223) and slightly better vs lefties (.253) Pirates find themselves slumping a bit offensively, but Darvish will give up enough for us to get the win here. 4* Money Maker PITTSBURGH PIRATES |

Taking WASHINGTON. Yeah. This is a big hold your nose play. Coming into Saturday action the Nats had dropped 15 of their last 18 games. Yikes. But there is zero chance I am backing Lugo at this price, ML or RL. Guy has a .303 BA Against here at home. If opposing hitters are raking at a 300 clip against, sign me up. I am sure it would shock many to hear that Washington is 6th in all of MLB in team batting average. Normally not what you think of a team 20 games under .500 or however close they are to that. Nats countering with ex Padre prospect MacKenzie Gore. The young lefty has been solid all season. Obviously for him his .226 BA Against while on the road is a big factor here. Couple with the fact that San Diego cannot hit lefties for a lick. - How about a .221, 3rd worse in all of MLB. No team is ever due to win or lose - but I think we have the edge on the mound and at this price, we are firing. 4* Money Maker WASHINGTON NATIONALS |

Taking the ORIOLES. Marines coming off dropping a series to the Yanks, and now face an even tougher road opponent here in Baltimore. This team has yet to find their stride. Last year this time they were gearing up for a nice playoff run - this year, possibly dealing some pieces away in a month. If Oakland wasn't as historically bad as they are, Seattle could possibly be in last place. At this price, how do we not bet the home team? Orioles continue to win. 4th most wins in all of MLB. Am I missing something with Seattle being under .500 on the season and on the road? Orioles for me. 4* Money Maker BALTIMORE ORIOLES |

Taking MIAMI. We will again fade the Pirates. We had the Cubs, again yesterday for another win. We also had the Jays over Miami. That was after we had the Marlins in Games 1 + 2. Think I have a good feel for this Marlins bunch right now. But do we even need it? 9 straight losses and Pittsburgh has no dropped 14 of 16. So much for that fast start. The team is bad. Nothing wrong with that. They have some rebuilding to do. Mitch Keller started off great. He has been leveling off since. And on the road, well, he has walked off the level to a pit. 4 runs allowed at Milwaukee. 5 runs allowed vs Oakland. 4 runs at San Fran. 6 runs at Seattle. Sense a little road trend giving up runs here? How about his overall performance in his last 5 starts? 20 runs. Personally, I think when you have given up 4 or more in 4 of your last 5 starts we have a little problem. Coupled with the Pirates performance this month. Yeah - we take Miami. 4* Money Maker MIAMI MARLINS |

Taking the WHITE SOX. So you know I like my streaks. And as I write this the day before, Texas has won 3 in a row heading into this Tuesday night matchup. That being said, even if we are looking at 4 up for the Rangers, and 3 straight L's for the Sox, I have to grab Kopech as a small dog. I can't back Perez in this spot. Guy has been a total Jekyll and Hyde with his splits this season. 1.71 ERA in 5 home starts. Totally dominant. On the road. He is Charlie Hough pitching at 64! 6.50 ERA in 9 starts. Opposing hitters raking a ridiculous .330 against him! 11 HRs allowed. A 1.80 WHIP. I know the Sox are in a little free for all, but I'll take them here. Kopech finally turning the corner and living up to the 1st round pick status. Last 7 games, dealing - 2.01 ERA .99 WHIP 53 Strikeouts in 40 innings. I like it. Honestly. If we go back to May - 9 starts. He has lowered his from a 7.01 to 3.92. That is what 14 runs in 52 innings looks likes. 2 of less runs allowed in 7 of those 9 starts. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX |

Taking the CUBBIES, again. I don't know the outcome of the Tuesday night, but, honestly - it doesn't matter. Pirates could easily be on a 9 game losing streak. Even if they manage a win, what is that, a 3-12 run their last 15. No thanks. Pirates sinking fast. Kyle Hendricks has made 5 starts and has been decent. Not going to complain about a 2.86 ERA 1.02 WHIP and 217 BA Against. Again. Against Pitt? Chicago winners of 6 of 7 with their ace on the hill last night. I like our chances again. Two teams going in opposite directions. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO CUBS |

Orioles +130 v. Rays | | 2-7 |
Loss | -100 | 17 h 18 m | Show |
Taking the ORIOLES, again. Had them last night, will do it again this afternoon. Yep. Rays great at home. A true juggernaut. But let's not discount Baltimore. (heading into Tuesday night) These guys we tied for most road wins in all of MLB. Wells has been pitching pretty good lately - a .96 WHIP and 206 BA Against in his 3 June starts. We can lower it a bit more if we add his last May start 6 inning 4 hits 1 run. For me though. Let's fade a little Taj Bradley. I like the youngster. But for whatever reason, the kid gets mauled here at home. 4 starts 15 runs (14 ERs) in 17.2 innings of work - allowing opposing hitters to connect at a .301 clip isn't a good look when you come in listed as a 150 favorite. Give me the O's. 4* Money Maker BALTMORE ORIOLES |

Taking the METS. Thought about RL -130 here, but I will stick with Senga on the ML. Guy has been more than solid at home. 6 starts 1.93 ERA .158 BAA and a decent 1.13 WHIP. Would be even better but the Jays tagged him for 4 runs in 2.2 innings on 4 hits. Otherwise, the guy is 6 innings an a run. Plus. Wainwright. Guy probably should have hung it up last year. Ineffective at home and on the road. 3 starts a 6.75 ERA. Opposing hitters raking .333 against him and a WHIP of 1.75. He is going to come out and give up 3/4 runs across 5 innings of work - possibly more if he doesn't get out of any jams. You put on 2 guys an inning and chances are you will give up some runs. Cards had also dropped 5 in a row coming into Friday nights game. Though Mikolas has been decent the last month or so, no guarantee the crack the win column. Taking the ORIOLES. Whatever happens on Wednesday (we have Baltimore like we did Tuesday), we will run it back again. We are either sitting on 6 straight wins, or we dropped a game. Either way, Tyler Wells will get us the Win. Guy has been stellar at home. A .188 BAA and .81 WHIP. Should be more than enough to counter Yusei Kikuchi. This guys has been the polar opposite of Wells on the road. A 5 ERA . Opposing hitters raking at a .287 clip, 11 HRs allowed and the O's hit lefties pretty good ranking 8th in HRs vs southpaws. New York comes in off a brutal loss vs Atlanta and another blown game. They lose their best player for about a month. Pirates have been feisty all year. And Senga comes to town with a 6.12 road ERA coupled with a .287 BAA and 1.84 WHIP - Look I am not a big believer that Pittsburgh is going to be in 2nd place and a playoff contender this season. Taking the WHITE SOX. Not sure why there is still all this love on Alcantara. Guy is not in Cy Young form. He has a 5.07 ERA on the year. A 5.09 ERA last 7. A 5.76 ERA on the road. He has given up 4 or more runs in half his starts (6) - not like 2 games or some limited number. The guy just gave up 5 runs to Oakland. Here come the Sox winners of 6 of 7 off a split vs the Yanks in a double header. Maybe these guys are finally turning the corner winning 6 of their last 8. Kopech had a great May - 6 starts 2.75 ERA .148 BA Against and a .92 WHIP. He is off a strong start of the new month going 7 strong giving up 3 hits and 2 runs with 9 guys. Taking the BLUE JAYS. Have to continue to fade the Twins. Now 5 straight losses. What a waste since Ryan, Ober and today's starter, Gray, all having solid numbers through early June. The hitting. Yikes. Twins hitting a little better than .220 vs lefties on the year, and a 214 on the road this season - good for 3rd worse in all of MLB behind the Padres (207) and Det (209) - And that is why we will back the Jays on their own little 3 game win streak. Kikuchi at home, much better. Mentioned this when he faced the Mets and he went out and tossed a gem. That being said. Better team. Playing winning baseball. Short number. 4* Money Maker TORONTO BLUE JAYS |

Win | 100 | 21 h 60 m | Show |
Taking the PHILLIES. 5 in a row for Philly. Suarez has looked decent his last 2 starts on the road vs the Mets and Nats. I will chalk up the first couple starts to rehab and getting back into the groove of facing major league hitters. Dodgers salvaged a game after blowing games late to the Reds. The team is 15-17 on the road and at the bottom of league hitting vs lefties and as a road team. Bullpen an issue - Grove isn't a guy I think goes deep here. Why now? He hasn't all season - 4, 3.1,5.2,3,5 - He fits right into them throwing their kids 5 innings no matter how good or bad the game is going. The DBacks really ripped him in Arizona for 9 runs in 3.1 innings (12 hits). That alone will skew anyone numbers. But 3 ER in 4 innings.. 5 innings 4 ER. There is a little cause for concern. Short price with the home team on a win streak. Sign me up. 4* Money Maker PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES |

Taking the RANGERS - had these guys RL last night, will come back ML today. Thought about the RL Plus Money though. Can't back Liberatore from what I have seen in his brief 2023. Not much different from 2022, which was, give up runs and hits. Rangers the best offense in the game. Great at home. Short price in my eyes. Dunning has been great. At 28, finally finding himself and what was expected as a Round 1 pick back in 2016. He was great out of the bullpen to start the year. And has been more than solid as a starter. 5 starts 2.28 ERA 1.04 WHIP 27 innings 27 Hits 21 Ks 7 runs. Texas hitters should rake tonight considering they are batting a league best .295 at home. Oh, also #1 at home in OBP, SLG and OBS percentage. If they don't score at least 6 I will be shocked. Rangers Team Total should also be considered. 4* Money Maker TEXAS RANGERS |

Taking the ORIOLES. I say on Mid Day Money daily, sign us up for Baltimore road dog Plus Money. These guys just win. 20-10 on the road- Tied with the Braves as The Best Road Team in all of MLB. 3rd most wins in baseball overall. Zero respect. I will look to see if we get plus money all series here. 4* Money Maker BALTIMORE ORIOLES |

White Sox +145 v. Yankees | | 3-2 |
Win | 145 | 23 h 11 m | Show |
Taking the WHITE SOX. I know Giolito has been about average on the year, and hasn't really shown what he was back in 2019-2021. But there is zero shot I am laying in the 150 range with Clarke Schmidt. He has been maybe a little better than Gio, and that is because of a few recent good starts. I am not buying it. White Sox to me still have a dangerous lineup. The Yanks are a team that had Willie Calhoun batting clean-up vs the Dodgers. I know Stanton is back - Rizzo has been fantastic. You have Judge. But the rest of the lineup to me is bad. I will grab the dog in this spot and not think twice. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX |

Taking the METS today. This is all about backing Senga. Just some really good home splits. 1.20 ERA .136 BAA .93 WHIP. Kikuchi the polar opposite. 5.23 ERA on the road - Opposing hitters raking at a .298 clip, 1.45 WHIP. This has all the makings of a New York 8-2 win. 4* Money Maker NEW YORK METS |

Phillies v. Nationals +159 | | 7-8 |
Win | 159 | 26 h 55 m | Show |
Taking the NATS. Cashed with these guys the other day in LA, will do it again here at home. Though instead of the Over, we will also be on the UNDER tonight. Gray is a guy who has really found himself this season. The talent was there, and now he is delivering on it. Kid has given up more than 2 runs once in his last 10 starts. He will keep us in the game. Wheeler hasn't been as sharp - but a 3.03 ERA last 7 and a very nice .99 WHIP, so yes, he won't give up too much either. 7 of Wheelers last 10 starts would have sailed under this number, 6 for Gray. The fact that Philly has dropped 4 in a row and have 7 of 12 - well I just can't see why they are favored at this price. Nats are a tough little squad. 4* Money Maker WASHINGTON NATIONALS |

Taking the NATS. I know Corbin is, well Corbin. But there is not a chance I will ever lay more than 2-1 with Syndergaard pitching. I am sorry, is the year 2018? Is it 2016? The guy has been brutal this year. Let's also grab the OVER in this spot. 4* Money Maker WASHINGTON NATIONALS |

Rays -116 v. Cubs | | 0-1 |
Loss | -116 | 21 h 32 m | Show |
Taking TAMPA BAY. Now - I say this as a guy with a Cubs Over ticket and a Cubs Central ticket - geez. What a mess! 4 straight losses, 6 of 8 and losses in 11 of 14. Forget not scoring runs, you won't win giving up 8-8-9-10-12-7-7-6-16-11 run. There is also a 2-1 loss in their 11 losses and in the three wins, 4-2, 7-2, 10-1. Enter the Rays who are the best hitting team in the league. Tampa sends out rookie Taj Bradley for his 6th start. Right now he is a 5 inning kid but will strike out his fair share of hitters. 2 successful road starts under his belt at Cincy and at the Mets. 9.1 innings 13 Ks 6 hits. Again. They don't let him go that deep, but, maybe off that wild 11-10 game they let him get to 100 pitchers and start stretching him out. Short price for the best team in the league. This is not a big hate on Stroman who has been more than solid on the year. A pair of clunkers vs the Dodgers and at the Twins, but otherwise, he hasn't allowed more than 2 runs in any of his other 9 starts. Have to grab the better him club at this price. Can't back a team on a losing streak like this. 4* Money Maker TAMPA BAY RAYS |

Red Sox v. Diamondbacks -110 | | 2-4 |

Taking ARIZONA. You know we like backing Gallen and Kelly - really the only 2 I have faith in on this staff. That is saying a lot since I do have Over Win ticket on these guys. Have to fade Tanner Houck though. I know the kid was a 1st Rounder. But so far this season - he is basically a 5 inning 3 run guy. Kelly the horse in this race. Guy has allowed more than 3 runs twice all season and one time he had to help by issuing 5 walks. Home numbers solid with a 1.80 BA Against and 1.11 WHIP. As well as the Red Sox hit at home, a blistering .296 - the road, complete opposite. A .229 average and an OBS in the bottom 10. DBacks at Top 5 team when it comes to hitting at home 4* Money Maker ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS |

Nationals -110 v. Royals | | 2-3 |
Loss | -110 | 18 h 6 m | Show |
Taking the NATIONALS, again. Won yesterday and we will grab them with Gore. Royals have dropped 3 in a row 7 of 8, 11 of 14. You already know from watching Mid Day Money what I think of Gore. Only getting better. Lynch making first start of the season and had a decent rehab while in the minors. But I can't get his 2 seasons of MLB pitching out of my head. 2021 5.69 ERA in 15 starts .295 BA Against 1.63 WHIP - Last year 5.13 ERA in 27 starts .290 BA Against 1.57 WHIP. Did I mention that Washington is hitting lefties at a .300 so far this season? 4* Money Maker WASHINGTON NATIONALS |

Taking the NATIONALS. Oh Brady Singer. What a step back from last year. Guy has just been brutal this year. Getting shelled at home - 7.85 ERA .303 BA against and a 1.78 WHIP. Sign me up for the scrappy Nats especially with Gray on the hill. This guy has taken a step forward. 6 road starts a solid 2.21 ERA. WHIP and BAA are decent, but not overwhelming. What is overwhelming is that take out his 5 run opening day vs the Braves and this guy has given up just 12 runs in 9 games. (2.06 ERA.. 2.65 season). KC one of the worse offensive teams in the game right now. And if you didn't know, Washington has the #1 batting average in the National League. Nats get it done. 4* Money Maker WASHINGTON NATIONALS |

Rangers +120 v. Orioles | | 12-2 |
Win | 120 | 26 h 59 m | Show |
Taking the RANGERS. Orioles in a tough spot off their road trip. Beating Toronto. Splitting with NYY as I write this before their game here on Thursday. Just a tough spot here coupled with the fact touted rookie Grayson Rodriguez has had some awful games this season. Now he gets a first place team that is starting to think they have something going. Now - if we take out 10 scoreless innings in 2 starts vs the Tigers, his 6.21 ERA balloons to 8.16! That is what happens when you give up 29 earned runs in 32 innings. So maybe you think the Tigers have some juggernaut offense - I don't. He is a 23 year old rookie learning. Give me the crafty vet on the hill for Texas in this spot at plus money. 4* Money Maker TEXAS RANGERS |

Blue Jays v. Rays -130 | | 3-6 |
Win | 100 | 21 h 44 m | Show |
Taking the RAYS, again. Had these guys last night, will run it back. Manoah has struggled this season no doubt. And I do like Eflin - and our guy Tim has a CY future on him. He has been pretty solid out of the gate. Rays hit at home. Manoah has been better on the road than at home. But still sporting a 5.59 ERA this month and a .312 BA Against. That won't get it done against this Tampa line up. 4* Money Maker TAMPA BAY RAYS |

Orioles +137 v. Yankees | | 9-6 |
Win | 137 | 28 h 15 m | Show |
Taking the ORIOLES. Not a fan of Nestor. Has not been Nasty of last. Last 4 starts, 2 good, 2 just awful. The awful against Texas (4.2 IN 7 ER 3 HR 4 BB) TB (4.1 IN 6 ER 2 HR 1 BB) and then we have 2 starts vs the A's and Jays that go combined 11 IN 11 Hits 4 ER 3 BB 10 Ks. Orioles offense can put up some runs - and I think they do. Baltimore a top 10 hitting road team and right outside that vs lefties. This is a tough little squad sitting 3 games ahead of these 3rd place AL East Yankees. Nice little dog for us to back. 4* Money Maker BALTIMORE ORIOLES |
