11-25-19 | Sharks v. Kings UNDER 6 | 4-3 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 25 m | Show
This is a 5* play on SJS@LAK to go Under the total. These two teams have a history of playing low scoring games, in fact they haven't gone over the total (6) in any of the last 10 meetings. The under is 5-0-1 in the Sharks last six games as an underdog. San Jose also has one of the best penalty kills in hockey, with a 90% kill rate. Neither of these teams rank well when it comes to scoring, each averaging well short of three goals per game. The under is 3-1-1 in Kings last five home games, and the under is 10-1-6 in the last 17 meetings. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
11-23-19 | Blackhawks v. Stars OVER 5.5 | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -112 | 16 h 55 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on CHI@DAL to go Over 5.5. The Stars have won 12 of their last 14 overall, and they have been putting plenty of pucks in the net during that span. They've scored three or more goals in five straight. The Chicago Blackhawks are coming off back to back losses, but they had won four straight before that. They have gone over (5.5) in six of their last seven overall. These two teams have gone over in four of the five head to head meetings, and with both teams clicking offensively we should see another high scoring game tonight. Take Over. GL, Jesse Schule
11-21-19 | Canucks v. Predators -163 | 6-3 | Loss | -163 | 9 h 30 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Nashville Predators. The Predators have lost five straight, but they showed signs of getting back on track in a competitive 2-1 loss to Winnipeg on Tuesday. They are in a good spot tonight, hosting a Vancouver Canucks team with just one win in their last eight overall. Pekka Rinne got pulled after allowing four goals on 14 shots in a loss to Chicago in his last start, but he's 6-1-2 with a 2.54 GAA at home this season. The Canucks starter Jakob Markstrom is 0-4-2 with a 3.16 GAA in the month of November. One of these teams will get back on track, and my money is on the home team. Take NAS. GL, Jesse Schule
11-20-19 | Senators v. Canadiens -202 | 2-1 | Loss | -202 | 9 h 58 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Montreal Canadiens. I bet on Montreal this weekend, and here is what I said prior to their game against New Jersey: "The Habs sit second in the Atlantic Division with a record of 11-5-3, and they have won three straight heading into tonight's home game against New Jersey. Carey Price is looking like an early candidate for the Vezina, and he's won four of his last five starts. Price is 10-4-2 with a 2.61 GAA so far this season." As it turns out it was Keith Kinkaid who started in that game, and the Habs lost in overtime by a score of 4-3. They host Ottawa tonight, and they are 9-2 in their last 11 versus the Sens, and they are 6-0 in their last six home games versus Ottawa. Take MTL. GL, Jesse Schule Copyright © 1995-2019 C
11-19-19 | Jets +1.5 v. Predators | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 11 h 48 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Winnipeg Jets. The Predators come into tonight's home game against Winnipeg as losers of four straight and six of their last seven overall. They lost 7-2 to Chicago on Saturday, and Pekka Rinne was pulled after allowing four goals on 14 shots. The Jets come into the Music City with a record of 6-1-1 in their last eight overall, and they will be a big underdog in tonight's game. The Jets have won four of the last five meetings, and the underdog has won six of the last seven meetings. Winnipeg has seen six of it's last eight overall decided by just one goal. Take WPG. GL, Jesse Schule
11-16-19 | Red Wings v. Sharks -199 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 23 h 20 m | Show
This is a 7* play on the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks have really turned things around winning five straight. They host the Detroit Red Wings tonight, and the Wings are in last place in the Atlantic Division. The Red Wings are 19-46 in their last 65 road games, and they are 4-13 in their last 17 games as an underdog. The Sharks are 20-7 in their last 27 games as a favorite of -201 or greater. Take SJS. GL, Jesse Schule
11-16-19 | Blackhawks v. Predators -193 | 7-2 | Loss | -193 | 21 h 56 m | Show
This is a 7* play on Nashville. The Predators are coming off three straight road losses, but they return home where they are 6-2-2 to host Chicago. The Blackhawks are 2-4-2 on the road. The Blackhawks are 4-10 in their last 14 games as an underdog, and they are 1-6 in the last seven meetings in Nashville. The Predators are 25-12 in their last 37 games as a home favorite of -110 to -150. Pekka Rinne is 6-0-2 with a 2.21 GAA at home this season. Take NAS. GL, Jesse Schule
11-16-19 | Senators v. Sabres -180 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 20 h 1 m | Show
This is a 7* play on the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres have lost six straight, but they have a great chance to get back on track here against the cellar dwelling Senators. The Senators are 21-44 in their last 65 games playing on 0 days rest, and they are 7-18 in their last 25 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 situation. The Sabres have won four of their last five home games against Ottawa, and they are 9-4 in their last 13 versus teams with a losing record. Take BUF. GL, Jesse Schule
11-16-19 | Devils v. Canadiens -155 | 4-3 | Loss | -155 | 8 h 35 m | Show
This is a 10* play on the Montreal Canadiens. The Habs sit second in the Atlantic Division with a record of 11-5-3, and they have won three straight heading into tonight's home game against New Jersey. Carey Price is looking like an early candidate for the Vezina, and he's won four of his last five starts. Price is 10-4-2 with a 2.61 GAA so far this season. The Devils come into tonight's game as the last place team in the Metropolitan Division. They have been terrible defensively, and their penalty kill ranks among the league's worst. Corey Schneider is 0-4-1 with a 4.59 GAA so far this season. Take MTL. GL, Jesse Schule
11-13-19 | Senators v. Devils UNDER 6.5 | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 13 h 36 m | Show
This is an 8* play on OTT@NJD to go Under the total. The Devils are coming off a 2-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks, and 22 year old rookie Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 30-of-31 shots. With a record of 5-3-3 and a 2.93 GAA he has been far better than his counterpart Corey Schneider who is 0-4-1 with a 4.59 GAA. The Devils will host Ottawa tonight, and the Senators own the league's worst power play. The Devils aren't much better, ranking 26th converting on just over 13% of their power plays. Two of the league's worst teams with two of the least talented rosters might not be expected to score a lot of goals here. The under is 6-2 in Senators last eight overall, and the under is 6-2 in Senators last eight games as an underdog. The under is 8-3 in Devils last 11 games following a win. The under is 8-3 in Devils last 11 games following a win. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
11-09-19 | Kings v. Canadiens UNDER 6.5 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 13 h 49 m | Show
This is an 8* play on LAK@MTL to go Under the total. The Kings rank 27th in the NHL in scoring, and they face an elite goaltender tonight in Montreal. Carey Price received high praise from an opposing goaltender after his last start. "I think Price is the only reason why they got a point tonight," Flyers goaltender Carter Hart said. "I thought we really competed hard tonight." The Kings power play is converting on just 10 percent of their opportunities, and that's one of the worst in the NHL. The under is 14-6 in the Kings last 20 games playing on 1 days rest, and the under is 20-8-3 in Canadiens last 31 games as a favorite. Only once in the last eight meetings have these teams combined for more than six goals. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
11-08-19 | Canucks v. Jets -120 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 50 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Winnipeg. The Jets have lost five of their last seven home games, but this is a team that won 57 and lost just 19 at home the last two seasons. Tonight they catch the Canucks playing the second game of a back to back, coming off a 5-2 loss in Chicago. "I just don't think we were very good," Canucks coach Travis Green said. "We didn't look sharp, we didn't handle the puck very well. ... We just weren't very good (Thursday), some players. The Canucks are 3-13 in their last 16 games as a road underdog, and they are 2-14 in their last 16 games playing on 0 days rest. The Jets are 9-1 in the last 10 head to head meetings versus Vancouver. Take WPG. GL, Jesse Schule
11-07-19 | Devils v. Flames -153 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 15 h 59 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Calgary Flames. The Flames have won three of their last four overall, and they sit just two points out of first place in the Western Conference. They host the New Jersey Devils tonight, and the Devils are struggling. New Jersey is brutal on special teams, with one of the league's worst penalty kills and a power play that is converting at just 14%. The Devils are 16-37 in their last 53 games as a road underdog, and they are 1-4 in their last 5 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 situation. They are 0-5 in their last five versus the Flames, and they have lost seven of their last eight in Calgary. Take CAL. GL, Jesse Schule
11-05-19 | Coyotes v. Flames -155 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 59 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Calgary Flames. The Flames lost three of five games on long road trip, but they return home to face the Arizona Coyotes who are coming off an overtime win over Edmonton last night. This looks like a good spot for a team that finished first in the Western Conference last season. The Coyotes are off to a strong start, but it remains to be seen if they have what it takes to make the playoffs. The Coyotes are 2-12 in their last 14 games as an underdog of +110 to +150, and they will have their backup goaltender between the pipes tonight. The Flames are 4-1 in their last five games as a home favorite of -110 to -150. Take CAL. GL, Jesse Schule
11-02-19 | Canucks v. Sharks -145 | 5-2 | Loss | -145 | 14 h 16 m | Show
This is a 10* play on the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks are off to a terrible start to the season, and they sit just one point out of last place in the Pacific Division. They host Vancouver on Saturday night at the Shark Tank, and with both teams playing on back to back nights this spot favors San Jose. The Canucks played in Anaheim on Friday, while the Sharks were at home versus Winnipeg. The Canucks are 10-28 in their last 38 games playing on back to back nights, and they are 2-8 in their last 10 versus San Jose. Take SJS. GL, Jesse Schule
10-31-19 | Flames v. Predators -149 | 6-5 | Loss | -149 | 12 h 29 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Nashville Predators. The Flames were the first place team in the Western Conference last year, but they were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs by the Colorado Avalanche. Moves made in the off-season haven't helped Calgary get better, and one deal appears particulalry lobsided. The Flames sent James Neal to Edmonton for Milan Lucic, and while Neal is second in the NHL with 11 goals so far, Lucic is playing just 12 minutes per game and has just three points. The Predators have long been one of the top home teams in the NHL, and Pekka Rinne has incredible numbers at home in Nashville. Rinne is coming off a shutout in a home win in his last start. Take NAS. GL, Jesse Schule
10-26-19 | Blue Jackets v. Flyers -150 | Top | 4-7 | Win | 100 | 16 h 41 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers have won back to back games, and they are 3-1 at home so far. They host the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight, and Columbus is just 2-2 on the road. "It's 10 games -- I don't know who the hell we are," Columbus coach John Tortorella said. "I like this team. I like the enthusiasm they bring. They've got to keep working at it so it becomes who we are, it becomes second nature." The Blue Jackets are 2-6 in their last eight games as an underdog of +110 to +150, while the Flyers are 13-5 in their last 18 games as a favorite. Take PHI. GL, Jesse Schule
10-24-19 | Wild v. Predators -171 | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 20 h 25 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Nashville Predators. It's no surprise that the Nashville Predators have won four of five home games so far this season, they have been one of the best home teams in the NHL over the last 4-5 years. They should be in a good spot to improve on that record tonight, hosting a struggling Minnesota Wild team without starting netminder Devan Dubnyk. Backup goalie Alex Stalock will be between the pipes tonight, and he was lit up for four goals in a loss to Montreal in his last start. He's 0-4-1 with a 2.80 GAA in five career appearances versus Nashville. Take NAS. GL, Jesse Schule
10-22-19 | Ducks v. Predators -159 | 1-6 | Win | 100 | 15 h 24 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Nashville Predators. It's been a fantastic start to the season for an Anaheim Ducks team that was one of the worst in the Western Conference last year. It's hard not to peg them as overacheivers at this point, and they are in a tough spot on the road at Nasvhille tonight. The Ducks are 7-21 in their last 28 road games versus a team with a winning home record, while the Predators are 69-23 in their last 92 games as a favorite of -201 or greater. The home team has won five straight in this series, and the favorite in 5-2 in the last seven head to head meetings. John Gibson has lost two of his three starts on the road this year, and he gave up four goals in a loss at Nashville in his only visit last season. Take NAS. GL, Jesse Schule
10-13-19 | Flames v. Sharks -128 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 12 h 52 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the San Jose Sharks. After opening the season with four straight losses, the Sharks earned a 5-4 win over Chicago on Friday. They look to make it back to back victories as they host the Calgary Flames tonight. This is a good spot for the Sharks, at home against a Calgary team that is playing on back to back nights, and third game in four nights. The Flames lost 6-2 in Vegas last night, and they are 2-12 in their last 14 games as an underdog of +110 to +150. The Flames are 14-40 in their last 54 games playing on back to back nights, and they have lost seven of their last nine versus the Sharks. The price is right to back the home team here. Take SJS. GL, Jesse Schule
10-12-19 | Coyotes v. Avalanche -150 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 12 h 47 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Colorado Avalanche. It's no surprise that the Avs have picked up right where they left off in last year's playoffs. Colorado upset Calgary in the first round as the 8th seed versus the #1 seed, and they took the Sharks to seven games in the second round. So far in 2019 they are 3-0, and they rank 4th in the NHL in scoring averaging 4.33 goals per game. They host Arizona tonight, and the Coyotes have lost two of three games so far. The Coyotes are 4-14 in their last 18 games as an underdog, and they are 0-8 in their last 8 games following a win. The Avalanche are 18-4 in their last 22 home games. Take COL. GL, Jesse Schule
10-05-19 | Canucks v. Flames -185 | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 56 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Calgary Flames. The Flames were the top seed in the Western Conference in last year's playoffs, but they were eliminated by the Colorado Avalanche in the first round. They lost their season opener on the road at Colorado, but they return home to face the Vancouver Canucks. Calgary will be a big favorite to get a victory over an inferior opponent. The Canucks have lost six in a row, and they are 15-39 in their last 54 games as a road underdog of +151 to +200. The Flames are 40-18 in their last 58 games as a home favorite of -201 or greater. Take CAL. GL, Jesse Schule
10-04-19 | Maple Leafs v. Blue Jackets OVER 6.5 | 4-1 | Loss | -108 | 5 h 19 m | Show
This is an 8* play on TOR@CBJ to go Over the total. The Leafs have a team loaded with talent up front, but after spending heavily on scoring prowess they may have left themselves a little thin on defense. They are coming off a 5-3 win over Ottawa in their season opener, and I think we could see another high scoring game here in Columbus. The Blue Jackets are a much different team this season, the Sergei Bobrovsky era is over in Columbus. Joonas Korpisalo takes over as the starter after going 10-7-3 with a 2.95 GAA as the backup last year. He's allowed seven goals in his last two starts versus Toronto. The Leafs have gone over in six straight overall, and the over is 6-0 in their last six as a favorite. Take Over. GL, Jesse Schule
10-02-19 | Sharks v. Golden Knights -165 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 34 h 8 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Las Vegas Golden Knights. This is the mother of all revenge spots for Vegas, after they were eliminated from the playoffs in a Game 7 versus the Sharks last year. Leading 3-0 in the third period, it looked like the Sharks would be eliminated. San Jose was gifted a 5-minute power-play after Joe Pavelski suffered a serious injury in what replays showed was a fall after light contact, and San Jose scored four times to take the lead. They went on to win by a score of 5-4 in overtime. "It's so disappointing," Marchessault said afterward. "It's a joke. That's what it is. It's embarrassing." Vegas will have a chance to get a little revenge in their season opener on home ice. Joe Pavelski is now playing in Dallas, and Evander Kane is serving a suspension for contact with an official. Take VGK. GL, Jesse Schule
06-12-19 | Blues v. Bruins -1.5 | 4-1 | Loss | -100 | 31 h 45 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Boston. The Bruins dominated Game 6 in St. Louis, and while momentum has meant very little in this series, I think the Blues might have a tough time coming back in Game 7 in Boston. There is no question that Tukka Rask has been the better of the two goaltenders. In fact he's having a historic run in these playoffs, ranking 1st in all major categories. I like the Bruins to ride Rask to a commanding win at home in Game 7. Take BOS. GL, Jesse Schule
06-09-19 | Bruins v. Blues -110 | Top | 5-1 | Loss | -110 | 33 h 46 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on St. Louis. Boston faces elimination tonight, and with all the injuries on the back end I don't like their chances of stopping the Blues. Here is what I said prior to Gsme 5: "The Blues took advantage of Boston's banged up blueline in Game 4, and they have now out-shot the Bruins in three of the four games in these Finals. Boston could be without team captain Zedno Chara for Game 5, and that could make life difficult for Tukka Rask." The Bruins are still furious about a blown call in Game 5, and that could prove to be a distraction ahead of Game 6. Take STL. GL, Jesse Schule
06-06-19 | Blues v. Bruins OVER 5.5 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 58 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on STL@BOS to go Over the total. The Blues took advantage of Boston's banged up blueline in Game 4, and they have now out-shot the Bruins in three of the four games in these Finals. Boston could be without team captain Zedno Chara for Game 5, and that could make life difficult for Tukka Rask. The Bruins will hope the power play can deliver again on home ice. Boston has been lethal with the man advantage in this post-season, hitting at almost 35 percent. The Bruins scored on all four of their power play chances in Game 3, but they only had 2 chances in Game 4 and went 0-for-2. Given the injuries on defense for Boston, I could see this shaping up to be another high scoring game. Take Over. GL, Jesse Schule
06-03-19 | Bruins v. Blues OVER 5.5 | 2-4 | Win | 125 | 10 h 55 m | Show
This ia a 10* play on Over 5. It's do or die for the St. Louis Blues, and I expect to see them play a lot better in Game 4 than they did in Game 3. The Bruins had four power play chances in Game 3, scoring on all four. Jordan Binnington was pulled after giving up five goals on 19 shots, and he let in some soft goals. The rookie might be falling apart, he really hasn't played as well since the second round. He gave up five goals in two of the first three games against San Jose. Only once in the Blues last eight games have they seen less than five goals scored. I think the chances are we will see more than five goals combined in Game 4. Take Over. GL, Jesse Schule
06-03-19 | Bruins v. Blues -110 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 7 m | Show
This is an 8* play on STL. After letting in five goals in two of the first three games against San Jose, Binnington allowed just three goals combined in the next three games. Everything went Boston's way in Game 3, and I don't see that happening again tonight. Take STL. GL, Jesse Schule
06-01-19 | Bruins v. Blues -116 | Top | 7-2 | Loss | -116 | 67 h 58 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the St. Louis Blues. The Blues head home with the series tied 1-1, and their Game 2 win came in overtime by a score of 3-2. As much as it looks like there isn't much separation between these two teams, the fact is that St. Louis had dominated so far. They opened up a 2-0 lead in Game 1, and after outplaying the Bruins through two periods they came out a little flat in the third. They have been punishing the Bruins with their physical play, and it's taken it's toll. Boston has lost a key defenseman, and Patrice Bergeron appears to be suffering from a groin injury. If the Blues continue to play the way they did in Boston, this series could be over in a hurry. Take STL. GL, Jesse Schule
05-29-19 | Blues +1.5 v. Bruins | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 7 h 31 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the St. Louis Blues. I had Boston in Game 1, but I was a little surprised to see them overcome an early 2-0 deficit. The Blues won't be happy with some of the calls in Game 1, and I think the officials will let a little more go here in Game 2. I wouldn't be surprised if this game ends 2-1 or 3-2 decided in overtime. The Blues aren't going to go away, and they aren't going down without a fight. Take STL. +1.5 GL, Jesse Schule
05-29-19 | Blues v. Bruins UNDER 5.5 | Top | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 7 h 31 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Under 5.5. I had the under in Game 1, and unfortunately an empty net goal killed me in the final minute. Here is what I said before the game: "They say that defense wins championships, and both teams in this year's Stanley Cup Finals are solid defensively. Both teams have been riding hot goaltenders, and goals could be hard to come by in Game 1.The Bruins have to like their chances with Tukka Rask, who leads all goaltenders in this year's playoffs with a 1.84 GAA. He's coming off an oustanding series against Carolina, allowing just one goal in his last two starts. Both of those games went under the total. Jordan Binnington allowed just two goals in his final three starts in the Western Conference Finals. He was 24-5-1 with a 1.89 GAA during the regular season. Both teams ranked in the top 5 in goals against during the regular season. We should see a tight, low scoring Game 1" Boston was a little sloppy early, but they cleaned things up in the final two periods. I expect to see both teams tighten up in this pivotal second game. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
05-27-19 | Blues v. Bruins -147 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 18 h 17 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Boston Bruins. They say that defense wins championships, and both teams in this year's Stanley Cup Finals are solid defensively. Both teams have been riding hot goaltenders, and goals could be hard to come by in Game 1. The Bruins have to like their chances with Tukka Rask, who leads all goaltenders in this year's playoffs with a 1.84 GAA. He's coming off an oustanding series against Carolina, allowing just one goal in his last two starts. The Bruins have a huge edge in playoff experience, and I like their chances of earning a win in Game 1. Take BOS. GL, Jesse Schule
05-27-19 | Blues v. Bruins UNDER 5.5 | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -130 | 138 h 27 m | Show |
This is a 10* GOY play on STL@BOS to go Under the total. They say that defense wins championships, and both teams in this year's Stanley Cup Finals are solid defensively. 05-21-19 | Sharks v. Blues -1.5 | 1-5 | Win | 181 | 20 h 42 m | Show
This is a 5* play on STL. I had the Blues in Game 3, and I felt robbed. Here is what I said before the game: "The Sharks got to Jordan Binnington in Game 1, but the rookie was solid as a rock in Game 2. The Blues head back home with a 1-1 series split, and they appear to have the Sharks right where they want them. The Sharks biggest weakness so far in these playoffs has been inconsistent goaltending from Martin Jones. He has a 2.83 GAA and a .905 save percentage, which ranks 15th among active netminders in the post-season. Note that only 16 teams advance to the playoffs. Jones allowed four goals in 25 shots in Game 2, and it's tough to have a lot of confidence in him moving forward. The Sharks have lost seven of their last 10 on the road, and the home team has won six of the last seven head to head meetings. I'll take the Blues as the home favorite." The Sharks are beaten and battered, and they can't have a lot left in the tank. The Blues should put them out of their misery here tonight. Take STL. GL, Jesse Schule
05-17-19 | Sharks v. Blues -136 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 6 h 26 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the St. Louis Blues. I'll take the Blues as the home favorite." Take STL. 05-13-19 | Blues v. Sharks OVER 5.5 | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 47 m | Show
This is a 5* play on STL@SJS to go Over the total. I had the over in Game 1, and here is what I said prior to the game: "The Sharks goaltender Martin Jones comes into tonight's game as statictically the worst netminder remaining in these playoffs. He ranks 14th in GAA, and 13th in save percentage. He was better in recent games in the Sharks second round series versus Colorado, but the Sharks know they will need to score if they want to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. Goals haven't been hard to come by for this Sharks team, in fact Logan Couture and Thomas Hertl lead the playoffs in scoring each with nine goals. The Blues have been riding a rookie goaltender since midway through the season, but Jordan Binnington started to show some weakness in the series versus Dallas. I think the total of 5 is a little too low here." Sure enough the Sharks got to Binnington, and the result was a 6-3 shootout. I expect more of the same in Game 2. Take Over. GL, Jesse Schule
05-05-19 | Blues v. Stars -1.5 | 4-1 | Loss | -100 | 27 h 30 m | Show
This is a play on the Dallas Stars. Dallas heads home with a 3-2 series lead, and they appear to have frustrated Blues rookie netminder Jordan Binnington. I am certainly not surprised the Stars are leading this series, here is what I said prior to Game 1: "The Blues beat the Winnipeg Jets in the first round mostly as a result of Jordan Binnington out-playing Connor Hellebuck. They face the Dallas Stars in the second round, and I don't think they can count on superior goaltending in this series. Ben Bishop ranked 1st in the NHL in save percentage and second in GAA during the regular season. Here in the playoffs he ranks second in both categories behind Robyn Lehner of the Islanders. The Stars top line has also been hot, and I think Dallas matches up really well versus this Blues team." Take DAL. GL, Jesse Schule
05-04-19 | Blue Jackets v. Bruins -1.5 | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 65 h 29 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Boston Bruins -1.5. I had the Bruins to win the series, and here is what I said prior to Game 1: "The Blue Jackets showed the Tampa Bay Lightning that playoff hockey is a whole different ball game than the regular season. Their strategy worked perfect against the talented lightning, but they better go back to the drawing board. If they think they are going to out-work, and push around the big bad Bruins, they are kidding themselves. This Boston team is battle tested, with legendary playoff performers such as Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron and Zedno Chara." Boston won Game 4 by a score of 4-1, and Columbus would have been held scoreless if it wasnt for a controversial goal on a puck that went out of play and ended up in the net. Boston has all the momentum and home ice advantage is restored. If the Jackets are trailing late, there is a high probability of an empty net goal. Take BOS. GL, Jesse Schule

05-03-19 | Islanders v. Hurricanes -1.5 | 2-5 | Win | 210 | 30 h 45 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Canes -1.5. The Islanders have been so close in every game of this series, but they can't seem to catch a break. Heading into Game 4 in Carolina trailing 3-0 in the series, you have to wonder how much fight this team has left. The Canes will be all fired up here with a rowdy crowd behind them, and if they score first they might just run away with it. They scored a pair of empty netters in the last game, and you can bet the Isles will be quick to pull the goalie if they are trailing late in this elimination game. Take CAR. 04-30-19 | Sharks v. Avalanche -115 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -115 | 33 h 17 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Colorado Avalanche. I bet on Colorado to win this series, and heading home with a split after two games in San Jose, I love the Avs in Game 3 in Denver. Here is what I said prior to Game 1: "The Sharks are the better team on paper, but you have to think the seven game series versus Vegas took it's toll on this team. Martin Jones had a a few good games, but more often than not he was terrible. Joe Pavelski is hurt, and you can bet that the bench is full of veteran players that are playing hurt. Colorado is younger, faster, and very talented. They have the more consistent goaltending with Philip Grubauer. I'll take the Avs." The older Sharks appear to have run out of gas, and they are really struggling to match the speed and intensity of the younger Avalanche. Take COL. GL, Jesse Schule

04-27-19 | Blue Jackets v. Bruins -138 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -138 | 23 h 40 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Boston. The Bruins avoided a let down in Game 1, and now they look to take a 2-0 lead in this second round series versus Columbus. The Blue Jackets showed the Tampa Bay Lightning that playoff hockey is a whole different ball game than the regular season. Their strategy worked perfect against the talented lightning, but they better go back to the drawing board. If they think they are going to out-work, and push around the big bad Bruins, they are kidding themselves. This Boston team is battle tested, with legendary playoff performers such as Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron and Zedno Chara. Take BOS. GL, Jesse Schule
04-26-19 | Hurricanes v. Islanders -130 | 1-0 | Loss | -130 | 7 h 42 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the NYI . Of all the surprises in the first round of the playoffs, the Islanders beating Pittsburgh perhaps shouldn't have been all that shocking. While nobody expected them to win the series in four games, they did have a better record than the Penguins in the regular season, and they had home ice advantage in the series. Home ice is huge for an Islanders team that was 24-13-4 at home. The Hurricanes lost three of four games at Washington in the first round, but still managed to pull out a win in overtime in Game 7. The Islanders are just a slight favorite in this series, and they have home ice, superior goaltending and they are well rested. Take NYI. GL, Jesse Schule
04-25-19 | Stars +1.5 v. Blues | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 5 h 9 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Dallas. The Blues beat the Winnipeg Jets in the first round mostly as a result of Jordan Binnington out-playing Connor Hellebuck. 04-22-19 | Predators v. Stars -125 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 24 h 18 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Dallas. I picked the Stars to win this series, and here is what I said prior to Game 1: "The first thing I look at in any best of seven series is the goaltending. If I am going to consider the underdog, they damn well have the better goaltender. Now Pekka Rinne has had some success in the playoffs, but he's often hot or cold. He was 30-19-4 with a 2.42 GAA during the regular season, and at the age of 36 he still looks like a capable netminder. It might be a stretch to say that Dallas has the better goaltender, but Ben Bishop has better numbers. He led the NHL with a .934 save percentage, and his GAA of 1.98 was second to only Jordan Binnington, who started 15 fewer games. The Stars have arguably more high end talent on their top line with Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn and Alelander Radulov. This series isn't likely to be easy for Nashville." Bishop has been the better of the two goaltender's and the Stars first line has been dominant in this series. I like Dallas to advance with a win at home in Game 6. Take DAL. GL, Jesse Schule
04-20-19 | Hurricanes v. Capitals -133 | Top | 0-6 | Win | 100 | 23 h 57 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Washington Capitals. The first thing I look at in any best of seven series is the goaltending. If I am going to consider the underdog, they damn well have the better goaltender. Now Petr Mrazek has had a fine season, going 23-14-3 with a 2.39 GAA. Do you remember that time Mrazek stole a series for his team in the playoffs? No, neither do I. But I do remember Braden Holtby stealing plenty of games for Washington during last year's Stanley Cup run. The Caps have the better goaltender and the best pure goal scorer of his generation (Alex Ovechkin). At this price it's not at all tempting to bet against the champs. Take WAS. 04-15-19 | Flames v. Avalanche UNDER 6 | 2-6 | Loss | -109 | 2 h 11 m | Show
This is an 8* play on CGY@COL to go Under the total. The Flames head to Colorado with the series tied 1-1, which is a bit of a disappointment for a 1st seed facing an 8th seed. Calgary has to be happy with the play of veteran goaltender Mike Smith, who leads the playoffs with a 1.40 GAA and a .954 save percentage. He and Philip Grubauer put on a show in Game 2, and we might expect another goaltender's duel tonight. Grubauer was 9-3-2 with a 1.69 GAA in his final 16 appearances in the regular season. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
04-14-19 | Sharks v. Golden Knights -140 | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 12 h 56 m | Show
This is an 8* play on VGK. The first thing I look at in any best of seven series is the goaltending. If I am going to consider the underdog, they damn well have the better goaltender. Last year's run to the Stanley Cup Finals was possible in part because Marc Andre Fleury was by far the better goaltender in every series they played. In this first round matchup versus the Sharks, he starts opposite Martin Jones who ranks 36th in the league (behind a bunch of backups) in GAA, and 47th out of 50 when it comes to save percentage. Take VGK. GL, Jesse Schule
04-14-19 | Islanders v. Penguins -177 | 4-1 | Loss | -177 | 2 h 56 m | Show
This is a 7* play on the Penguins. The first thing I look at in any best of seven series is the goaltending. If I am going to consider the underdog, they damn well have the better goaltender. Now the Islanders appear to tick that box, with Robyn Lehner ranking 2nd in the NHL in save percentage and 3rd in GAA. The Penguins though have Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Phil Kessel, who between them have enough Stanley Cup rings to cover most of their fingers. At this price, there isn't much incentive to bet against all that talent. Take PIT. GL, Jesse Schule

04-12-19 | Blues v. Jets -120 | 4-3 | Loss | -120 | 10 h 35 m | Show
This is a 10* play on Winnipeg. The Jets lost in the Conference Finals versus Las Vegas last year, and in that series Marc Andre Fleury stole a few games for the Golden Knights. Winnipeg is vulnerable to an upset in similar fashion this season, but I don't expect that to happen in the first round versus St. Louis. While Jordan Binnington did lead the league with a 1.89 GAA, the 25 year old has no playoff experience. It's a rather small sample size (30 starts), and it remains to be seen how he will react to the pressure of a seven game series. He was outstanding in Game 1, but I like the Jets to respond with a better effort in Game 2. Take WPG. GL, Jesse Schule

04-12-19 | Blue Jackets v. Lightning -1.5 | 5-1 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 55 m | Show
This is an 8* play on TB. The Lightning were in a class of their own in the regular season, finishing 21 points ahead of second place Boston. They did finish first in the East last season, but it was nowhere near as impressive as the show they put on in 2019. They went all the way to the Conference Finals last year, and lost in seven games to the eventual Stanley Cup champions Washington. They cruised through their first round series verus the Devils in five games, winning Game 1 by a score of 5-2. Columbus had to fight like dogs just to get in to the playoffs, and at times they didn't look like a playoff team. They will likely find themselves overwhelmed and overmatched here in Game 2. Take TB. GL, Jesse Schule
04-11-19 | Avalanche v. Flames -184 | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 3 h 19 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Calgary. The first thing I look at in any best of seven series is the goaltending. If I am going to consider the underdog, they damn well have the better goaltender. Now there is no doubt that goaltending is the Achilles Heel of the Flames, but it's not exactly a strength for Colorado either. Backup goaltender Philip Grubauer had better numbers than starter Semyon Varlamov during the season, and I wouldn't be surprised if Grubauer sees action in this series. Calgary ranked second in the league in scoring during the regular season, and I expect the Flames to find enough offense to survive the first round. Take CAL. GL, Jesse Schule

This is an 8* play on the Boston Bruins. The first thing I look at in any best of seven series is the goaltending. If I am going to consider the underdog, they damn well have the better goaltender. Now Fredrik Anderson was brilliant for the Leafs for the better part of this season, but he comes into the playoffs off an ugly final month of the season. He lost seven of his last 10 starts, allowing a whopping 35 goals in those games. The Leafs couldn't win a game to save their life down the stretch, while Boston was one of the league's hottest teams in the second half. Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron and Zedno Chara in the playoffs... LOOK OUT! This first round draw looks like a nightmare for the Leafs. Take BOS. GL, Jesse Schule

04-06-19 | Rangers v. Penguins -1.5 | 4-3 | Loss | -115 | 3 h 9 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Pens still have work to do, with a chance to improve their playoff position in the final game of the season at home against the Rangers. New York suffered a tough loss on home ice last night, falling 3-2 to Columbus in a shootout. The Blue Shirts are ready to hit the golf course, so don't expect a big push back from New York on the road. The Pens are 4-1 in the last five head to head meetings, and they covered the puckline in all four of those wins. Take PIT. GL, Jesse Schule

04-04-19 | Canucks v. Predators -1.5 | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 19 h 34 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Nashville. The Vancouver Canucks are ready to go golfing. They bring a three game winning streak into tonight's game at Nashville, but I think that's all the more reason to pack it in as they play their final two games of the year on the road. The Predators are playing for home ice advantage in the playoffs, so they will be gunning for a win without a doubt. Pekka Rinne has owned Vancouver at home. He's an incredible 42-15-3 in his last 60 home starts. The Canucks have lost four of five at Bridgestone Arena. Take NAS. GL, Jesse Schule
04-04-19 | Canadiens v. Capitals UNDER 6 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 29 h 8 m | Show
This is an 8* play on MTL@WAS to go Under the total. The Habs will likely need to run the table in order to sneak into the playoffs, but given their recent play they might just be able to pull it off. Montreal is 6-1-1 in their last eight overall, and Carey Price has been dominant down the stretch. He was brilliant in a 3-1 win at Winnipeg on Saturday, stopping 23-of-24 shots. This game won't mean nearly as much to Washington, as the Caps have already clinched a playoff berth and they are three points clear of the Islanders in the Metropolitan Division. The road team has won seven of the last nine head to head meetings, and five of those games were decided by just one goal. The under is 17-6-5 in the last 28 meetings in Washington. Take Under. 03-30-19 | Ducks v. Oilers -150 | 5-1 | Loss | -150 | 11 h 22 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Edmonton Oilers. Edmonton has had a disappointing season, no doubt about that. They are trying to put a positive spin on things with just a few games remaining, and a home game against the Ducks looks like a good spot for the Oilers to give their fans something to cheer about. While Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl continue to rack up the points (each have 40+ goals and 100+ points) the Ducks star players are sidelined by injury. The big three of Ryan Getzlaf, Ryan Kesler and Corey Perry are all banged up, and none of the three played in a 6-1 loss at Calgary last night. The Ducks are 6-18 in their last 24 road games, and 1-6 in their last 7 games playing on 0 days rest. Take EDM. GL, Jesse Schule
03-28-19 | Canadiens +1.5 v. Blue Jackets | 2-6 | Loss | -188 | 24 h 6 m | Show
This is a 7* play on the Montreal Canadiens +1.5. I bet on Montreal in their last game, and here is what I said prior to the opening faceoff: "The Habs are barely holding on in the Wild Card race, and the Columbus Blue Jackets are hot on their heels. They can't afford to leave any points on the table here in a home game against Florida." They went on to open up a 5-0 lead in the second period, and won by a score of 6-1. Tonight's game will be the biggest game of the year for both teams, as the winner is almost surely in the playoffs while the loser will likely be eliminated. These teams have a history of playing close, low scoring games. Six of the last seven head to head meetings have gone under the total, and four of those games were decided by just one goal. The Habs have wone five of their last eight, and have only lost once by more than one goal during that span. Six of those games failed to reach the total. Take MTL. GL, Jesse Schule

This is a 7* play on the Montreal Canadiens. The Habs are barely holding on in the Wild Card race, and the Columbus Blue Jackets are hot on their heels. They can't afford to leave any points on the table here in a home game against Florida. The Panthers gave up seven goals in a loss at Toronto last night, and Roberto Luongo got the hook after allowing five goals on 33 shots. His backup Sam Montembeault has allowed a whopping eight goals on 42 shots in his last two appearances. The Panthers are 1-4 in their last five games playing on 0 days rest, and 2-8 in their last 10 in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation. This looks like a good spot to back Montreal (even at this price). Take MTL. GL, Jesse Schule
03-25-19 | Penguins -176 v. Rangers | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 5 h 55 m | Show
This is a 7* play on the Penguins. Pittsburgh is already in playoff mode, the Penguins are 13-4-4 in their last 21 games. They now trail Washington by just three points for first place in the Metropolitan Division. The Rangers are coming off a thrilling overtime win over the Leafs in Toronto, that snapped a five game losing streak. It wouldn't be much of a surprise to see the Blue Shirts suffer a let down coming off a big upset win. The Penguins are 3-0-1 versus the Rangers the last two seasons, and they are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings in New York. The Rangers are 1-4 in their last five home games, and they have lost seven of their last eight when playing on one day's rest. Take PIT. GL, Jesse Schule

This is a 7* play on Montreal. My total of the year was a winner on under 5.5 the last time these teams met. Here is what I said prior to the game: "The Habs are barely holding on in the Wild Card race, and the Columbus Blue Jackets are hot on their heels. They can't afford to leave any points on the table, and they might be in for a battle here at the Islanders. New York has allowed fewer goals than any other team in the NHL this season. Carey Price has really stepped up his game for Montreal, winning three of his last five starts and allowing just four goals in those three games." Price is coming off a 28 save shutout in a 4-0 win over the Isles. Another dominant performance should be expected here at hom versus Buffalo. Take MTL. GL, Jesse Schule
03-23-19 | Wild +1.5 v. Hurricanes | 1-5 | Loss | -176 | 7 h 54 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Minnesota +1.5. I bet the under in Minnesota's game last night, and here is what I said prior to the game: "The Washington Capitals are in a battle with the Islanders for first place in the Metropolitan Division, while the Minnesota Wild are gunning for one of the Wild Card spots in the Western Conference. In a high stakes battle in the nation's capital, we expect scoring chances to be at a premium tonight. The under is 5-1-1 in the Wild's last seven games as a road underdog. The under is 5-2-1 in the Wild's last eight road games." The Wild earned a hard fought two points winning by a score of 2-1, and taking over the final Wild Card spot in the West. I don't expect them to give it up just 24 hours later, and I like Minnesota to earn at least a point tonight. Take MINNY. GL, Jesse Schule
03-22-19 | Wild v. Capitals UNDER 6 | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 12 m | Show
This is an 8* play on MIN@WAS to go Under the total. The Washington Capitals are in a battle with the Islanders for first place in the Metropolitan Division, while the Minnesota Wild are gunning for one of the Wild Card spots in the Western Conference. In a high stakes battle in the nation's capital, we expect scoring chances to be at a premium tonight. The under is 5-1-1 in the Wild's last seven games as a road underdog. The under is 5-2-1 in the Wild's last eight road games. The under is 6-2-1 in the Capitals last 9 home games versus teams with a winning road record. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
03-21-19 | Blue Jackets -130 v. Oilers | 1-4 | Loss | -130 | 29 h 27 m | Show
This is a 10* play on Columbus. I bet on Columbus in their recent win over Carolina, and here is what I said prior to the game: "The Blue Jackets are coming off a 7-4 win over Boston, putting them in a tie with Montreal at 81 points. They have a game in hand, which allows them to occupy the final Wild Card spot in the West. They host Carolina tonight, and the Canes are just two points ahead in the standings. The Blue Jackets picked up Matt Duchene and Ryan Dzingel from Ottawa at the trade deadline, and after a slow start, both players scored in the win over Boston. This is a must win game for the Jackets, with a playoff spot on the line and home ice advantage versus a division rival. Sergei Bobrovsky is playing better in the second half of the season than he had prior to the All Star break. He's 11-6 with a 2.28 GAA in his last 17 starts." Take CBJ. GL, Jesse Schule
03-21-19 | Avalanche v. Stars UNDER 5.5 | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 29 h 56 m | Show
This is an 8* play on COL@DAL to go Under the total. An empty net goal cost me in the Stars last home game, and this is what I said prior to their win over Florida: "The Dallas Stars have played themselves into a Wild Card spot, but they need to keep stringing wins together if they want to make the playoffs. They host the Florida Panthers, a team that isn't in the hunt for the playoffs. The Under is 20-4-2 in the Stars last 26 games as a favorite of -110 to -150. The under is 20-5-3 in the Stars last 28 versus teams from the Eastern Conference. Dallas ranks 2nd overall in the NHL in goals against, and Ben Bishop leads all goaltenders with a .933 save percentage. He ranks 2nd with a 2.05 GAA. He missed the last few games with a lower body injury, but is expected to return tonight to face the Panthers." I'll get right back on the under here in tonight's game versus the Avs, another team facing a must win. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
03-21-19 | Flyers v. Blackhawks UNDER 7 | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 29 h 55 m | Show
This is an 8* play on PHI@CHI to go Under the total. These are two of the highest scoring teams in the NHL, and neither team has been very successful keeping the puck out of their own net. The bookmakers have set the total accordingly (7), and I expect to see an increased focus on defense here in a game where one of these teams will emerge with a legitimate chance to make the playoffs. Chicago is just four points back in the West, and the Hawks have two games in hand. Take UNDER. GL, Jesse Schule
03-21-19 | Islanders v. Canadiens UNDER 5.5 | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 28 h 56 m | Show
This is an 8* play on NYI@MTL to go Under the total. Carey Price has really stepped up his game for Montreal, winning three of his last five starts and allowing just four goals in those three games. The Islanders goaltending situation is pretty secure, with Ronin Lehner rankling in the Top 5 of the NHL in GAA and save percentage, and backup Thomas Greiss coming off a 31 save shutout. Greiss also ranks in the Top 5 in both those categories. Given that both these teams are engaged in heated battles for playoff position, we should expect scoring chances to be few and far between in tonight's game." Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
03-21-19 | Coyotes v. Panthers UNDER 6 | 2-4 | Push | 0 | 27 h 27 m | Show
This is an 8* play on ARI@FLA to go Under the total. Nobody expected Arizona to threaten for a playoff spot this year, but with just a handful of game left the Coyotes occupy the eighth seed and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Every game from here on out will be a must win for the teams battling for those final spots, and Arizona catches the Florida Panthers in their first game back from a road trip. The under is 15-5-2 in the Coyotes last 22 versus the Eastern Conference. The Coyotes are 4-0 in their last four games as a road underdog of +110 to +150. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
03-19-19 | Panthers v. Stars UNDER 5.5 | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -110 | 28 h 30 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on FLA@DAL to go Under the total. The Dallas Stars have played themselves into a Wild Card spot, but they need to keep stringing wins together if they want to make the playoffs. He missed the last few games with a lower body injury, but is expected to return tonight to face the Panthers. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
03-18-19 | Canucks v. Blackhawks -180 | 3-2 | Loss | -180 | 26 h 10 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Chicago Blackhawks. Chicago has won five straight, and a win tonight would put them just four points out of a playoff spot. It was just a few weeks ago that the playoffs seemed like an impossible mission for the Hawks, but they have won 16-of-22 since January 20th. They host rivals Vancouver tonight, and the Canucks are playing the second game of a back to back, and third game in four nights. Vancouver lost in a shootout to New Jersey on Friday, and then upset the Stars in Dallas in another shootout last night. The Canucks are 3-13 in their last 16 games playing on 0 days rest, and they are 19-39 in their last 58 in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation. Take CHI. GL, Jesse Schule
03-17-19 | Canucks v. Stars -1.5 | 3-2 | Loss | -100 | 18 h 14 m | Show

03-15-19 | Hurricanes v. Blue Jackets -124 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 23 h 41 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Blue Jackets are coming off a 7-4 win over Boston, putting them in a tie with Montreal at 81 points. 03-14-19 | Canadiens v. Islanders UNDER 5.5 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 22 h 56 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on MTL@NYI to go Under the total. The Habs are barely holding on in the Wild Card race, and the Columbus Blue Jackets are hot on their heels. They can't afford to leave any points on the table, and they might be in for a battle here at the Islanders. New York has allowed fewer goals than any other team in the NHL this season. 03-13-19 | Rangers v. Canucks -119 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 18 h 19 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks and the Rangers are two teams rebuilding, and success this season has taken a back seat. The Rangers come into Vancouver as losers of seven of their last eight, and the Canucks have lost five of their last six. This looks like a good spot for Vancouver though, as they have several days off since getting blown out on home ice by the Las Vegas Golden Knights. The Rangers are in the middle of a West Coast road trip that will see them play three games over the next four days. Jacob Markstrom is 14-8 with a 2.74 GAA in 26 home starts, and Henrik Lundqvist is 7-8 with a 3.37 GAA in 20 starts on the road. Take VAN. GL, Jesse Schule
03-12-19 | Capitals v. Penguins -131 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 25 h 25 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins don't have much breathing room in their quest for the playoffs, sitting just four points ahead of ninth place Montreal. They are coming off a big home win over the Boston Bruins, ending a 19-game point streak for Boston. Sidney Crosby appears to be geared up for another playoff run, he has nine points in his last five games. Home ice advantage has been huge for the Penguins during the Crosby era, they are 112-47 in their last 159 games as a home favorite. The defending Stanley Cup champions come off a 3-1 home win over the Winnipeg Jets, and they've won seven straight. This looks like a let down spot for Ovie and company. Take PIT. GL, Jesse Schule
03-12-19 | Stars -130 v. Sabres | Top | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 25 h 25 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Dallas Stars. Dallas is coming off a 2-1 loss to Chicago at home, and they come into Buffalo as one of the two Wild Card teams in the Western Conference. With Arizona sitting just two points back in ninth place, the Stars can't afford to leave any points on the table. Buffalo is banged up, and they have lost six of their last seven overall. Their best player (Jack Eichel) will not play tonight as he's serving a suspension for a high hit in Saturday's loss to Colorado. The Stars have won seven of the last eight head to head meetings versus Buffalo, and the Sabres are 1-5 in their last six games as an underdog. Take DAL. GL, Jesse Schule
03-12-19 | Bruins v. Blue Jackets -120 | Top | 4-7 | Win | 100 | 25 h 24 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Columbus Blue Jackets. Columbus is coming off a 2-0 loss at New York last night, and here is what I said prior to the game: "The Columbus Blue Jackets come into New York desperately needing to string a few wins together. They went all in at the trade deadline, not only keeping Artemi Panarin and Sergei Bobrovsky, but also trading for Matt Duschene and Ryan Dzingel. They currently sit in the final Wild Card spot in the East, but they are tied on points with ninth place Montreal." They return home for another must win game against Boston, a team that has earned points in 19 of it's last 20 games. I had Boston pegged to suffer a let down against Pittsburgh in their last game, and they lost 3-1. Now that their streak is done, they might still be a little vulnerable here on the road in Columbus. Take CBJ. GL, Jesse Schule
03-11-19 | Hurricanes v. Avalanche UNDER 6 | 3-0 | Win | 109 | 10 h 15 m | Show
This is an 8* play on CAR@COL to go Under the total. Two teams battling for a Wild Card spot will meet in Denver tonight, and this game should have a playoff feel to it. The bookmakers have set the total a little too high as far as I am concerned. These two teams have a history of playing low scoring games, failing to reach the total in seven of the last eight head to head meetings. The under is 5-2 in Avalanche last seven versus teams with a winning record, and 7-3-1 in the Avs last 11 in the third game of a 3-in-4 days situation. The Avs might want to roll with backup netminder Philip Grubauer, who is coming off a 3-0 shutout win over the Sabres. The 27 year old has two shutouts in his last five appearances, and has allowed just three goals during that span. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
03-11-19 | Blue Jackets v. Islanders UNDER 6 | Top | 0-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 29 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on CBJ@NYI to go Under the total. The Columbus Blue Jackets come into New York desperately needing to string a few wins together. They went all in at the trade deadline, not only keeping Artemi Panarin and Sergei Bobrovsky, but also trading for Matt Duschene and Ryan Dzingel. They currently sit in the final Wild Card spot in the East, but they are tied on points with ninth place Montreal. The Islanders are ranked 1st overall in the NHL in goals against, allowing 2.4 goals per game. We should expect a low scoring game between two teams jockeying for playoff position. The under is 4-0 in the Blue Jackets last four road games, and 11-5-1 in the Blue Jackets last 17 games as a road underdog. The under is 18-5-3 in the Islanders last 26 versus teams with a winning record. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
03-10-19 | Kings v. Ducks -150 | 3-2 | Loss | -150 | 20 h 34 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks might not be going to the playoffs, but they have salvaged some pride by playing the role of spoiler here at the end of the season. They come into tonight's home game versus LA as winners of three of four. All three of those wins came against teams battling for a playoff spot (Arizona, Colorado and Montreal). Tonight they play the last place team in the West, and LA is coming off a 4-2 loss in Arizona last night. Playing their second game of a back to back as losers of 13 of their last 14 overall, it's hard to fancy their chances. Take ANA. GL, Jesse Schule
03-10-19 | Golden Knights v. Flames -128 | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 8 h 25 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Calgary Flames. Calgary has lost four straight, falling out of first place in the Western Conference, one point behind the San Jose Sharks. They host Las Vegas tonight, and they might be catching the Golden Knights at a good time. Vegas is playing it's second game of a back to back, coming off a late game in Vancouver last night. This looks like a good spot to turn to their backup goaltender, and Malcom Subban is just 1-6 with a 3.31 GAA on the road this season. The home team has won six straight meetings in this series, and the Golden Knights have lost eight of their last nine on the road as an underdog. Take CAL. GL, Jesse Schule
03-09-19 | Kings v. Coyotes UNDER 5.5 | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -125 | 18 h 32 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on LAK@ARI to go Under the total. The Arizona Coyotes are making a furious run for the post season, and they come into tonight's home game against LA as winners of seven of their last eight. Six of those eight games went under the total. They have been getting great goaltending from 28 year old Darcy Kuemper, who is 10-4-1 with a 2.25 GAA in his last 15 starts. Kuemper will face his former team tonight, and LA has lost back to back games and has only scored one goal during that span. The Kings rank 30th in the NHL in scoring, and they have scored two goals or less in seven of their last 10 overall. Take Under. GL, Jesse Schule
03-08-19 | Canadiens v. Ducks UNDER 5.5 | 2-8 | Loss | -110 | 19 h 17 m | Show
This is an 8* play on MTL@ANA to go Under the total. The Habs are barely holding on in the Wild Card race, and the Columbus Blue Jackets are hot on their heels. They can't afford to leave any points on the table, and they might be catching the Anaheim Ducks at a good time. The Ducks have won two of three since leading scorer Ryan Getzlaf returned to the lineup, but the 33 year old has not registered a point in those games. The Ducks are just 3-11 in their last 14 home game, while the Habs are 6-1 in their last 7 games as a road favorite. Carey Price gets the night off Thursday in San Jose, which allows him to come in for a more favorable start against Anaheim. Price is 3-0 in his last three road starts, allowing a total of four goals in those games. He allowed one goal in a win over the Ducks earlier this season. Take Under. GL,Jesse Schule
03-08-19 | Wild -105 v. Panthers | 2-6 | Loss | -105 | 16 h 18 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Minnesota Wild. The Wild are winners of six of eight, and they now occupy the last Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. There is little room for error though, with Colorado and Arizona each in striking distance. The Florida Panthers are coming off a terrible loss at Boston last night, blowing a two goal lead. The Bruins tied the game in the final minute, and scored the game winner with just seven seconds left on the clock. The Wild have had their fair share of success versus Florida, winning eight of the last 10 head to head meetings. Two of those wins came in Florida. Take MIN. GL, Jesse Schule
03-08-19 | Devils v. Capitals -1.5 | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 16 h 17 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Washington Capitals. The Caps are currently tied with the Islanders for top spot in the Metropolitan Division, and they desperately need to take two points from tonight's home game against the Devils. New Jersey has lost four straight, and in three of those games they were held to one goal or less. Starting netminder Corey Schneider is just 4-9-3 with a 3.21 GAA this season, and he's 0-3 with a 4.69 GAA in his last three starts versus Washington. The Caps are 4-2 in the last six head to head meetings, and all four of those wins came by more than one goal. Take WAS. GL, Jesse Schule
03-06-19 | Flames v. Golden Knights -143 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 20 h 19 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Las Vegas Golden Knights. The Calgary Flames come into Sin City off back to back losses, and they catch the Golden Knights at a bad time. Vegas appears to be peaking, coming into tonight's game off four straight wiins. What's most impressive about those wins is that they haven't allowed a goal in their last two games. Marc Andre Fleury faced the Flames once this season, and he recorded a shutout in that game. The Flames have lost all three of their games at Las Vegas over the last two seasons, and two of those losses were of the shutout variety. The home team is 5-0 in the last five meetings, and that's a trend that I expect will continue tonight. \ Take VGK. GL, Jesse Schule |
