12-14-23 | Lightning v. Oilers -170 | Top | 7-4 | Loss | -170 | 8 h 8 m | Show |
In their only other game this season, Tampa Bay scored four third-period goals to beat Edmonton, 6-4, on November 18. Since Rogers Place opened at the start of the 2016-17 season, the Oilers are 4-1-0 at home versus the Lightning.Tampa Bay is 5-9-2 on the road this season after a 4-1 loss at Vancouver on Tuesday. Twelve points is the fewest the Lightning have earned through their first 16 road games since 2012-13, when they had 10 points (5-11-0).
12-14-23 | Flames v. Wild -138 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 7 h 11 m | Show
The Flames have given up 15 goals during their current three-game winless streak (0-2-1). That is their most goals allowed over a three-game span this season.
12-13-23 | Sabres +178 v. Avalanche | 1-5 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 3 m | Show
The sight of Erik Johnson down on the ice in a bear hug with Nathan MacKinnon after Colorado won the 2021-22 Stanley Cup will be an enduring image in Avalanche lore. Johnson was the longest-tenured player on the team, and he finally got his ring after Colorado's six-game win over Tampa Bay in the Final. So it was tough for Avalanche supporters to see the veteran defenseman leave this past offseason, another casualty of the salary cap. Johnson will play his first game in Denver since leaving when the Buffalo Sabres visit the Avalanche on Wednesday night. Johnson, 35, again is the veteran on a young Buffalo team -- much like he was with Colorado when the Avalanche began their ascension to the Cup. He is the oldest skater on the roster -- although he only has three weeks on Kyle Okposo -- and one of three players over 30. Like the Avalanche when their corps was very young, the Sabres are trying to form the foundation for a title team. They are coming off of a 5-2 win over Arizona on Monday, are 2-0-1 in their last three games, and embark on a three-game road trip starting with Colorado. They feel their recent play is a blueprint for further success.
12-12-23 | Hurricanes v. Senators +115 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 24 m | Show |
The Carolina Hurricanes vented some frustration in a players-only meeting shortly after sustaining their fourth consecutive loss to begin a six-game road trip. The Hurricanes hope the exchange of words in the locker room proves productive on the ice Tuesday night when they visit the Ottawa Senators. Martin Necas contends that the meeting had a positive vibe, despite the team's recent negative results
12-10-23 | Capitals v. Blackhawks +150 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 38 m | Show |
The Chicago Blackhawks and Washington Capitals will look to build on impressive Saturday night wins when they meet Sunday night in Chicago. The Capitals ended a three-game losing streak with a 4-0 shutout of the Metropolitan Division-leading New York Rangers. The Blackhawks have won consecutive games for the first time this season after a 3-1 win against the visiting St. Louis Blues. Charlie Lindgren made 31 saves to help the Capitals spoil former Capitals coach -- and current Rangers leader -- Peter Laviolette's return to Washington, D.C., on Saturday. Tom Wilson posted his fifth goal in five games for the Capitals, who scored on the first shift of the game and broke it open with a three-goal second period. Lindgren made 15 saves in the second period as Washington pulled away. He'll remember the game for another reason: It was his first time playing against his brother, Ryan, in the NHL.
12-09-23 | Senators v. Red Wings -115 | 5-1 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 32 m | Show
Patrick Kane's debut in Detroit didn't go as planned. The Red Wings hope for a smoother performance when they host Ottawa on Saturday night. The nine-time All-Star and presumed future Hall of Fame inductee signed a one-year contract with Detroit last week. Kane, who underwent hip resurfacing surgery during the offseason, skated well but didn't have a point in his first appearance on Thursday. Kane had three shots on goal and hit the post in the third period. His new teammates blew a four-goal lead and wound up losing to San Jose in overtime, 6-5. The Sharks evened the score before a wild second period, in which eight goals were tallied, ended. Dylan Larkin gave the Red Wings the lead back with 6:40 remaining in the game but Tomas Hertl tied it with 1:29 on the clock. Mikael Grandlund then scored 37 seconds into overtime.
12-09-23 | Devils -114 v. Flames | Top | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 3 h 42 m | Show |
The Devils won both games they played versus the Flames last season (4-3 in OT at Calgary and 3-2 in New Jersey), ending a run of eight consecutive Flames wins against the Devils. The Devils have not won three games in a row versus Calgary since they did so spanning the 1996-97 and 1997-98 seasons. The Devils' 2-1 victory at Seattle on Thursday was their first win this season in a game in which they scored fewer than four goals (1-9-1, .136). The Devils were 17-19-7 (.477) in games in which they scored three or fewer goals last season, fourth best in the NHL.
12-04-23 | Capitals +111 v. Coyotes | Top | 0-6 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 2 m | Show |
Washington has two straight shutout wins at Arizona. The last time the Capitals had three straight shutouts on the road versus any opponent was against the Canadiens from March 2011 to February 2012.The Capitals gave up two goals in the third period for the fourth time this season in a 4-1 loss to Vegas on Saturday. Washington has given up an NHL-low 13 total third-period goals this season.Tom Wilson, who scored a goal on Saturday, now has four goals over a two-game span for the first time in his career. Six times in his career Wilson has had scoring streaks of three games or longer, the last coming in April 2023.
12-04-23 | Seattle Kraken v. Canadiens +139 | 2-4 | Win | 139 | 8 h 36 m | Show
Sam Montembeault was 2-2-1 with a 3.32 GAA and .894 save percentage over his first five games this season but he's 3-1-0 with a 2.10 GAA and .929 SV% in five games since then.
12-04-23 | Stars v. Lightning +107 | Top | 0-4 | Win | 107 | 7 h 12 m | Show |
In Saturday's matchup with the Tampa Bay Lightning, the homestanding Dallas Stars won by a constellation. After matching their season high in goals in an 8-1 obliteration of the Lightning, Dallas will visit Tampa on Monday to complete a home-and-home set between the 2020 Stanley Cup Final opponents. Dallas received goals from its top three lines in the first eight minutes Saturday and piled it on from there. To no shock at all, the Texas-sized production was staggeringly impressive. Fourteen of Dallas' 18 skaters recorded points -- only Matt Duchene, Ty Dellandrea, Craig Smith and Joel Hanley were held scoreless. Eight players posted multi-point outings. The club also found the net on both of its power plays and held the Lightning's vaunted man-advantage unit to one goal on six attempts. Dallas is approaching the halfway point of a healthy stretch of eight games in 14 days, which began with Tuesday's 2-0 win at the Winnipeg Jets. Monday's is the fourth in the demanding run.
12-03-23 | Avalanche v. Kings -130 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 49 m | Show
The Los Angeles Kings should have the fresher legs when they host the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday evening. The Kings have played just one game since Nov. 25, a 2-1 loss to the visiting Washington Capitals on Wednesday. The Avalanche, meanwhile, have played three games in that span, most recently losing 4-3 in a shootout at the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night. Los Angeles coach Todd McLellan said he wanted to make sure the Kings retained some rhythm during the gap between games, so he had them simulate a number of game situations during practice on Friday.
12-02-23 | Canucks v. Flames -117 | 4-3 | Loss | -117 | 9 h 11 m | Show
The Flames have earned a point in seven straight home games against the Canucks, going 6-0-1 in those contests. Calgary is 15-3-2 in its last 20 home games against Vancouver dating back to February 2016.
12-01-23 | Senators -154 v. Blue Jackets | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -154 | 7 h 58 m | Show |
Coming off their worst performance of the season, the Ottawa Senators will look for more discipline and more goals when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday. Monday's 5-0 home loss to the Florida Panthers saw the Senators muster just 20 shots en route to being shut out for the first time this season. Tensions rose as the game increasingly got out of hand, resulting in a third-period fracas that saw all 10 players on the ice receive misconduct penalties. The Senators and Panthers combined for 167 total penalty minutes, yet only Florida could take advantage on special teams. Ottawa went 0-for-6 on the power play while the Panthers were 3-for-7 with the extra attacker, including Sam Reinhart's power-play goal just 1:28 into the game.
11-30-23 | Golden Knights v. Canucks -116 | 4-1 | Loss | -116 | 10 h 21 m | Show
It's not that the Vegas Golden Knights aren't allowed to have nice things anymore, it's just that when you are the defending Stanley Cup champions, sooner or later you realize that you can't rest on your achievements. The Golden Knights can expect to get the surprising Canucks' best on Thursday when Vegas -- in a real slog the last few weeks -- travels to Vancouver with first place in the Pacific Division on the line. According to Cassidy, his players are starting to realize that other teams are coming into games with extra motivation.
11-30-23 | Seattle Kraken v. Maple Leafs -176 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 25 m | Show |
The Seattle Kraken will be out to end a two-game losing streak Thursday when they face the host Toronto Maple Leafs. Seattle opened a four-game road trip Tuesday, falling 4-3 to the Chicago Blackhawks. The loss was especially frustrating for the Kraken considering they went 0-for-5 on the power play, leaving coach Dave Hakstol with an immediate area to address. Matty Beniers, who had a goal and an assist against Chicago, is also hoping that Seattle can be more efficient when it comes to breaking down the opponents' penalty kill.
11-28-23 | Penguins -105 v. Predators | 2-3 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 43 m | Show
For Pittsburgh, the joy level ebbs and flows along with the team's success. The Penguins have the same record as Nashville, but coming to .500 a quarter of the way through the season has been bumpy. Pittsburgh held off the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday for a 3-2 win, one night after blowing a two-goal lead as the Buffalo Sabres scored three unanswered third-period goals to win. Crosby has been perhaps the only example of reaching the high level of consistency Pittsburgh has been searching for. Even at 36, he leads the team with 13 goals and 24 points.
11-27-23 | Panthers v. Senators +118 | Top | 5-0 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 37 m | Show |
With Ottawa's Joonas Korpisalo (5-4-0, 3.17 goals-against average) day-to-day because of an undisclosed injury, teammate Anton Forsberg (3.51 GAA) could be back in net after stopping 21 of 26 shots versus New York. Meanwhile, Florida's Sergei Bobrovsky has lost three of his past four starts, but owns a 2.56 goals-against average and .910 save percentage during that stretch. Panthers backup Anthony Stolarz has a 2.28 goals-against average while winning three of the four starts he's made this season. Florida's Matthew Tkachuk will once again square off against his brother Brady. Matthew is without a point in five consecutive games, but he's posted four goals and six assists in his past six against the Senators. Brady, meanwhile, has three goals with an assist in six home games versus Florida.
11-26-23 | Blues v. Blackhawks +138 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 15 m | Show |
After stopping a five-game skid with Friday's overtime victory, the Chicago Blackhawks will vie for consecutive victories for the first time this season when the St. Louis Blues visit on Sunday afternoon. Chicago is confident a newfound surge can carry over to the second contest of a three-game homestand. The Blackhawks tied Friday's contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs 15 seconds into the third period when Jason Dickinson completed a natural hat trick. Rookie defenseman Kevin Korchinski's goal 4:30 into overtime gave Chicago a 4-3 victory. Dickinson netted his first career hat trick to lift the Blackhawks' attack. Connor Bedard, the top pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, led Chicago with six shots but finished at minus-2. Fellow forward Corey Perry was a healthy scratch for the second game in a row, but coach Luke Richardson didn't provide insight into the status of the former Hart Trophy recipient.
11-25-23 | Flyers +133 v. Islanders | 1-0 | Win | 133 | 8 h 36 m | Show
A three-game winning streak for the New York Islanders is salvaging what had been a disastrous November. The Philadelphia Flyers hope their current two-game skid isn't going to undo the progress they made over the first half of the month. The Islanders and Flyers will meet for the second time this week on Saturday night in Elmont, N.Y. Both teams will be completing a back-to-back set. The Islanders continued their well-timed surge Friday with a 5-3 win over the host Ottawa Senators, while the Flyers dropped a 3-1 decision to the New York Rangers. The home game Saturday will be only the second for the Islanders since Nov. 11, when fans chanted "Fire Lane Lambert" as the New York head coach presided over a fourth straight defeat. The winless streak reached seven games (0-4-3) when the Islanders went 0-2-1 to open a four-game West Coast swing. New York, however, ended the trip with a 5-4 shootout win over the Calgary Flames on Nov. 18 before notching a 3-2 win over the visiting Flyers on Wednesday night. The five goals the Islanders scored Friday were they most they've collected in regulation this season, while the three-game winning streak is their longest since a three-game run from March 15-18.
11-25-23 | Sabres v. Devils -164 | Top | 2-7 | Win | 100 | 7 h 15 m | Show |
November likely can't end soon enough for the New Jersey Devils. After a 5-2-1 run in October, the Devils are 3-7-0 this month with three games remaining, including Saturday night's matchup against the Buffalo Sabres in Newark, N.J. The Devils have lost three in a row -- including 2-1 to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday -- and have won only once in their past seven games. "That was just a tough result," forward Jack Hughes said after the loss to Columbus. "We didn't generate anything. We didn't score. We didn't execute. We're talking too much ... we have to go out and play better." New Jersey has allowed 38 goals this month and has seen its opponents score at least four goals in every loss except for the setback against the Blue Jackets. New Jersey had high hopes this season after finishing third overall in the NHL in 2022-23. But as the team approaches the quarter mark of the season, it finds itself in seventh place in the Metropolitan Division, only one point ahead of last-place Columbus. After a 4-0 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday, the Devils focused on raising their competitive level and winning puck battles in practice Thursday. They followed that with some "honest conversations," forward Erik Haula said. And while they saw some improvement against the Blue Jackets, it was just a step.
11-24-23 | Penguins v. Sabres +106 | 2-3 | Win | 106 | 25 h 33 m | Show
11-24-23 | Oilers -124 v. Capitals | Top | 5-0 | Win | 100 | 22 h 43 m | Show |
The Oilers arrive in the U.S. capital on the heels of a third consecutive loss, Wednesday's 6-3 defeat against the Carolina Hurricanes. Unlike the previous two outings in which they surrendered a 2-0 edge, the Oilers trailed 4-0 in the first period. Edmonton won the first two games after a coaching change resulted in Kris Knoblauch being handed the reins, but has followed that positive bump by dropping every outing on the current road trip that ends in Washington. Goaltending and team defense has been a huge problem all season and has played a big part in the losing skid. The Oilers have surrendered 17 goals in three games, capped by the Carolina loss in which captain Connor McDavid was minus-3 and Leon Draisaitl was minus-4.
11-22-23 | Blackhawks +132 v. Blue Jackets | 3-7 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 60 m | Show
To say things have been better for the Columbus Blue Jackets would be an understatement. After a 5-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday dropped them to 0-7-2 in their past nine games, the Blue Jackets return home to face the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday, hoping to avoid a franchise-record 10th straight setback. While the Blue Jackets will be on two days of rest for the first time since Nov. 8, they are the NHL's coldest team, with issues throughout the roster. Among the veteran players expected to lead the group, Patrik Laine has struggled for ice time under head coach Pascal Vincent and was a healthy scratch against Philadelphia. At the same time, a sputtering power play emphasizes further struggles throughout the roster. Against the Flyers, the Jackets went 0-for-5 on the power play and sat at 9.8 percent on the season, the third worst in the NHL entering Tuesday.
11-20-23 | Kings v. Coyotes +133 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 43 m | Show |
The Coyotes are adjusting to the loss of top-line center Barrett Hayton, who sustained an upper-body injury in the second period of a 3-2 win against the host Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday. Hayton is expected to miss four to six weeks. Travis Boyd moved into Hayton's spot on a line with Nick Schmaltz and Clayton Keller on Saturday night against the Winnipeg Jets. Boyd made a nice pass to defenseman Matt Dumba to set up a goal that tied the score 2-2, but the Jets scored three unanswered goals to win 5-2. Arizona coach Andre Tourigny said Schmaltz will also get a chance to play some center in Hayton's absence.
11-20-23 | Rangers v. Stars -127 | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 8 h 47 m | Show
The New York Rangers will try to extend their points streak against another division leader when they visit the Dallas Stars on Monday. New York is on an 11-game (10-0-1) points streak and stands one more result away from the 10th-longest points streak in franchise history. Saturday's 5-3 road win over the New Jersey Devils was one of the most satisfying victories yet for the team, as the Rangers defeated their arch-rival with another late comeback. Trailing 3-2 with nine minutes remaining in the third period, the red-hot Artemi Panarin equalized for New York on his second goal of the game. Jimmy Vesey collected his second goal on the game-winner, backhanding a shot into the Devils' net with 2:49 left in regulation. It marked the fourth time this season that the Metropolitan Division-leading Rangers have come back to win after trailing in the third period.
11-19-23 | Golden Knights v. Penguins +100 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 6 h 30 m | Show |
Pittsburgh is 6-4-0 all-time against Vegas. The only team the Golden Knights have a worse record against is Boston (3-6-1). The Penguins have scored at least four goals in all six wins, and three or fewer in all four losses.
11-18-23 | Penguins v. Hurricanes -158 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 19 m | Show
The Hurricanes won all four games they played against the Penguins last season and each win was by one goal, including two overtime victories. Carolina's four-game winning streak versus Pittsburgh matches their franchise high, done twice before, by the Hartford Whalers from October 1986 to January 1988 and February 1989 to March 1990.
11-18-23 | Golden Knights -150 v. Flyers | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -150 | 1 h 27 m | Show |
The Golden Knights seek a second consecutive season sweep of the Flyers as they face off in Philadelphia. Vegas rallied for a 3-2 home win on October 24, with Shea Theodore scoring the game-winner with 32.5 seconds to play.
11-17-23 | Sabres +147 v. Jets | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 59 m | Show
The Buffalo Sabres will likely welcome back three players but will be without their top center when they visit the Winnipeg Jets on Friday. Alex Tuch, Eric Comrie and Zach Benson are each expected to be back against Winnipeg while Tage Thompson will miss his first game with an upper-body injury sustained Tuesday after blocking a shot in a loss to the Boston Bruins. Thompson is week to week and his absence "should be less than" two months, coach Don Granato said. Dylan Cozens was elevated into the No. 1 spot at practice Thursday, with Tuch and Jeff Skinner on his wings.
11-16-23 | Coyotes -115 v. Blue Jackets | Top | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 9 m | Show |
The Arizona Coyotes will look to rebound and find consistency in their game when they visit the struggling Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night. After starting the season better than many expected, the Coyotes have not linked a pair of wins together since the fourth and fifth games of the campaign. Over their last eight games, they have alternated wins and losses, with their most recent victory a 7-5 win over the Nashville Predators on Saturday before falling to the Western Conference rival Dallas Stars 4-3 in overtime on Tuesday. While Arizona has remained competitive despite inconsistency, they have struggled to hold onto leads late in games, allowing a 3-2 lead to slip in the final five minutes against Dallas, eventually leading to the overtime defeat.
11-15-23 | Seattle Kraken v. Oilers -179 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 42 m | Show
The Edmonton Oilers gave coach Kris Knoblauch a present after his first NHL victory. The Oilers presented their new coach with the game puck and then surprised him with a video of his wife from their home in Hartford, Conn., where he had been coaching the New York Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate. Knoblauch, who replaced the fired Jay Woodcroft on Sunday, will go after a second consecutive victory when the Oilers play host to the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday night.
11-13-23 | Avalanche v. Seattle Kraken +130 | Top | 5-1 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 50 m | Show |
The Avs lost their last three road games by scores of 4-0 (at Pittsburgh), 4-0 (at Buffalo) and 7-0 (at Vegas). It's only the third time in NHL history that a team suffered three consecutive shutout losses on the road by a four-goal or larger margin. The other teams to do that are Chicago in March 1968 and the Minnesota North Stars in December 1974.
11-13-23 | Islanders +153 v. Oilers | 1-4 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 13 m | Show
Kris Knoblauch will be the fifth different head coach for the Oilers over the last six seasons, following Todd McLellan, Ken Hitchcock, Dave Tippett and Jay Woodcroft. That will tie them with the Flyers for the most head coaches utilized by an NHL team over that span.
11-12-23 | Stars v. Wild +105 | Top | 8-3 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 36 m | Show |
The Dallas Stars will go for their third straight victory when they visit the Minnesota Wild on Sunday evening in St. Paul, Minn. Dallas just notched road wins against the Winnipeg Jets and the Columbus Blue Jackets in the past three days. The Stars have won nine of their first 13 games and are in first place in the Western Conference's Central Division. Stars coach Peter DeBoer likes what he is seeing from his team as it prepares to face Minnesota. Dallas will be playing on short rest after a 3-2 win over Winnipeg on Saturday evening.
11-11-23 | Oilers -122 v. Seattle Kraken | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 11 h 36 m | Show
How low can the Edmonton Oilers go? The Oilers reached another depth Thursday night with a 3-2 road loss against the San Jose Sharks, a team that lost its first 11 games of the season. That dropped Edmonton into a tie with the Sharks with an NHL-low five points heading into Saturday night's game at Seattle. It is not exactly where the Oilers, considered a strong Stanley Cup contender, expected to be at this point of the season. The Oilers have lost four straight and eight of their past nine games. Their five points are tied with the 1993-94 team for the fewest through 12 games in franchise history.
11-10-23 | Capitals v. Devils -171 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -171 | 9 h 45 m | Show |
The New Jersey Devils will battle the Washington Capitals Friday night in Newark, N.J., in a game that will have a hard time matching the action from their last encounter. Washington visited New Jersey on Oct. 25, and that night the Capitals scored the only three goals in the first period, the Devils notched all four in the second and the Capitals scored three in the third for a 6-4 win. That game is notable for being the only time this season Washington has scored more than three goals, as the Capitals rank 31st in the league with an average of two goals per game. Captain Alex Ovechkin -- in pursuit of Wayne Gretzky's goals record -- has scored twice in 11 games for new coach Spencer Carbery.
11-10-23 | Hurricanes v. Panthers +115 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 115 | 9 h 35 m | Show |
The Carolina Hurricanes are the kings of overtime -- in the regular season, at least. On Friday night, the Hurricanes are set to visit the Florida Panthers in Sunrise, Fla. Both teams have won two straight games. But Carolina is working on a much more impressive streak, winning 10 straight regular-season games over the past year that have been settled in overtime. It's tied for the second-longest streak in NHL history. On Tuesday, Carolina beat the visiting Buffalo Sabres, 3-2, on Martin Necas' overtime goal. Sebastian Aho had the primary assist, making the pass that led to Necas' deflection.
11-09-23 | Islanders +130 v. Bruins | Top | 2-5 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 32 m | Show |
The Islanders have gone just 1-1-2 since banking back-to-back wins twice within their first seven games. Tuesday's 4-2 home loss to the Minnesota Wild was their first regulation setback since Oct. 24. The lone win during the current run was Semyon Varlamov's 32-save effort in a 3-0 shutout victory in Washington last Thursday. Maine native Oliver Wahlstrom, who was a healthy scratch for two games before aligning with captain Anders Lee and Mathew Barzal against the Wild, scored his first goal, took four shots, and blocked two. Noah Dobson also scored a goal, but the Isles were shut out in the third period and now have a minus-5 goal differential (7-2) in the final frame over their last four games. On the whole, coach Lane Lambert believes his team needs to re-establish its identity.
11-08-23 | Kings v. Golden Knights -120 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -120 | 10 h 3 m | Show |
After dominating the headlines with their season-opening 12-game point streak, the Vegas Golden Knights find themselves on the other end of streak talk when they host the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday night in Las Vegas. The defending Stanley Cup champion Golden Knights suffered their first regulation loss of the season on Sunday at Anaheim, allowing four consecutive third-period goals to the Ducks in a 4-2 loss. That snapped a streak of 20 straight games without a regulation loss (16-0-4) in the regular season for Vegas dating back to March 28 when it lost to Edmonton, 7-4. The Golden Knights also opened the season with seven straight victories before suffering an overtime loss to Montreal, the best start in NHL history for a defending Stanley Cup champion. Now the focus turns to the Kings. Los Angeles opened the season with six straight road wins, the best mark in the NHL, and has won three straight overall. The six-game road winning streak is the longest for the Kings since they won eight in a row in 2014.
11-08-23 | Senators v. Maple Leafs -165 | Top | 6-3 | Loss | -165 | 9 h 60 m | Show |
The Ottawa Senators visit the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday night looking to overcome their early struggles. The Senators were booed in Saturday's 6-4 home loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning and the fans chanted for coach D.J. Smith to be fired. The Senators have lost five of their past six games. The Maple Leafs also have had recent struggles. They ended a four-game losing streak Monday with a 6-5 home overtime win against Tampa Bay. They overcame a 4-1 deficit after one period to take a 5-4 lead, only to allow the tying goal late in the third period.
11-07-23 | Devils +157 v. Avalanche | 3-6 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 30 m | Show
The Colorado Avalanche injected offense into their lineup in the offseason hoping to alleviate the scoring burden from their top line. It started out well, but now Colorado isn't getting secondary scoring -- or any scoring at all. The Avalanche have lost three of their past four games, getting shut out in all three setbacks, and have hit a funk after starting the season with six straight wins. They will try to break out of it when they host the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night at Denver.
11-07-23 | Jets -135 v. Blues | Top | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 26 m | Show |
The Jets are coming off a 5-3 victory at Arizona Saturday. They rallied from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits against the Coyotes to snap their three-game winless streak. The Jets got three goals from supporting cast winger Nino Niederreiter and two from Dillon in the victory. Interim coach Scott Arniel challenged his defensemen to get more involved offensively and Dillon responded with the first two-goal game of his career.
11-06-23 | Bruins +120 v. Stars | Top | 3-2 | Win | 120 | 11 h 43 m | Show |
The Dallas Stars host the Boston Bruins in a Monday night clash of early-season NHL heavyweights who are looking to shake off tough weekend losses. Boston let an early 2-0 lead slip away for the second straight game and later surrendered three third-period goals in Saturday's 5-4 loss at Detroit, its first regulation setback of the season. Now 9-1-1, the Bruins did not have defensemen Charlie McAvoy (who is appealing a four-game suspension for an illegal check to the head), Matt Grzelcyk and Derek Forbort available to begin their two-game road trip. Instead, the back line featured 22-year-old Mason Lohrei playing only his second NHL game, as well as Parker Wotherspoon and Ian Mitchell, who have 14 and 86 games under their belts, respectively.
11-05-23 | Golden Knights v. Ducks +155 | 2-4 | Win | 155 | 9 h 13 m | Show
Anaheim is on a five-game win streak, its longest since an eight-game streak that ended in November of 2021. The Ducks have allowed two or more goals in all five wins. The team record for the longest win streak while also allowing multiple goals is six (three times).
11-04-23 | Bruins v. Red Wings +125 | 4-5 | Win | 125 | 8 h 14 m | Show
The Red Wings are 6-1-0 in their last seven home games against the Bruins, including a 5-3 win in the Bruins' only game in Detroit last season (March 12).
11-03-23 | Devils -148 v. Blues | Top | 1-4 | Loss | -148 | 10 h 12 m | Show |
After scoring just 15 goals in their first eight games, the St. Louis Blues are getting desperate to generate offense.
11-03-23 | Flyers v. Sabres -165 | 5-1 | Loss | -165 | 9 h 16 m | Show
The Sabres will aim for their second win over the Philadelphia Flyers in three nights when the two clubs meet in Buffalo on Friday. The quick rematch comes after a 5-2 Sabres victory Wednesday in Philadelphia, a result that Flyers defenseman Travis Sanheim found "frustrating" for his team. The Flyers outshot Buffalo by a lopsided 40-15 margin, and Joel Farabee scored to give Philadelphia the early lead just 55 seconds into the game. The score was tied 2-2 after the first period, however, and the Sabres eventually vaulted ahead on three unanswered third-period goals.
11-02-23 | Lightning -150 v. Blue Jackets | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -150 | 9 h 21 m | Show |
The Columbus Blue Jackets have not had the start to the new campaign they wanted, but perhaps the best strategy Thursday would be to somehow take the Tampa Bay Lightning to overtime. Winning just three of its first nine games, the Metro Division club hosts the Lightning in the first of three matchups, two of them taking place in Ohio's capital. If Thursday's contest does go to overtime, something will ultimately have to give or go to a shootout. Columbus is 0-2 in the three-on-three, five-minute extra session. It lost consecutive games in late October to Anaheim and Montreal, as the Ducks' Frank Vatrano and the Canadiens' Cole Caufield dashed any hopes of a first overtime win with game-winners. In the Ducks game that started two hours late due to a power outage in and around the Columbus arena, Blue Jackets coach Pascal Vincent said his offense's power shortage caused the match to head to overtime and Vatrano's extra-time, breakaway tally. (FLM)
11-01-23 | Stars v. Flames +120 | 4-3 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 46 m | Show
The Flames will receive a boost with top-pair defenseman Rasmus Andersson slated to return after serving his four-game suspension. Calgary also summoned 2020 first-round draft pick Connor Zary from the AHL. Zary, a center and left wing in his third pro season, leads the Calgary Wranglers with 10 points (one goal, nine assists) in six games. I think the Flames catch Dallas napping tonight.
10-31-23 | Predators v. Canucks -127 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 10 m | Show
The Vancouver Canucks are off to a surprisingly hot start to the season, and will not allow the frustration of their last outing to carry forward when they host the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. The Canucks saw their three-game winning streak snapped with a 4-3 overtime loss to the New York Rangers on Saturday, but that defeat is not the kind that should drop their spirits. Other than New York taking advantage with its power play -- all three Rangers goals in regulation came on the man-advantage -- the Canucks controlled the bulk of the play.
10-30-23 | Seattle Kraken v. Lightning -150 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -150 | 10 h 38 m | Show |
The Seattle Kraken get set for one final contest in Florida with a clear goal of finally beating the Tampa Bay Lightning. Winless in four tries against the Atlantic Division club and owning just two wins in nine games thus far, Seattle will try to add to the win column when it plays the Lightning on Monday night. It will have to forget what happened Saturday in Sunrise -- in fact, leaving that memory in South Florida would be a good start. Tied at 2 with the Florida Panthers in the waning minutes of regulation and possibly headed for overtime, Seattle goaltender Joey Daccord committed a game-changing error by going to retrieve a puck that appeared destined to travel behind his net. Instead, the puck caromed oddly off the stanchion and into the low slot, where Florida's Nick Cousins scooped in the game-winner with 5:52 left as his club beat Seattle for the second time in five career meetings. (FLM)
10-29-23 | Flames v. Oilers -145 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 21 m | Show |
The Flames have lost four straight games with each loss coming by multiple goals. Calgary has not had a streak of at least five consecutive games with a loss by two or more goals since a seven-game streak in March 2018.
10-29-23 | Avalanche -165 v. Sabres | 0-4 | Loss | -165 | 4 h 10 m | Show
The Avalanche suffered their first loss of the season with a 4-0 defeat in Pittsburgh on Thursday. They became the third team in NHL history to see a season-opening winning streak of at least six games come to an end with a shutout loss, joining the 1993-94 (seven games) and 1934-35 Maple Leafs (eight games). You can bet the Avalanche will come out fire a massive chip on their shoulder.
10-28-23 | Maple Leafs v. Predators +126 | 2-3 | Win | 126 | 10 h 11 m | Show
The Maple Leafs had just 17 shots on goal in their 4-1 win at Washington on Tuesday and 24 shots on goal in their 4-1 win at Dallas on Thursday. It's the first time they won consecutive games by a three-goal or larger margin despite having fewer than 25 shots on goal in each game since April 1-3, 1999 (5-1 wins at Edmonton and Calgary, 23 SOG in each game).
10-28-23 | Jets v. Canadiens +140 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 140 | 10 h 21 m | Show |
The Winnipeg Jets appear to have overcome their rough start. Meanwhile, the young Montreal Canadiens seem to be overachieving out of the gate. The visiting Jets will aim for a fourth consecutive victory on Saturday night against the pesky Canadiens, who have won three of their last four. Winnipeg allowed 19 goals while losing three of its first four games but has surrendered just five in winning three straight since that dismal beginning. Connor Hellebuyck stopped 35 shots while Mason Appleton and Nino Niederreiter each had a goal with an assist during the Jets' 4-1 victory at Detroit on Thursday. (FLM)
10-28-23 | Islanders -148 v. Blue Jackets | Top | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 10 h 6 m | Show |
The New York Islanders won on Thursday night despite being whistled for nine penalties. The Columbus Blue Jackets weren't as fortunate after an eight-penalty evening. A pair of teams looking to spend less time on the penalty kill will play each other for the first time this season, when the Islanders visit the Blue Jackets in a battle of Metropolitan Division rivals on Saturday night. Both teams were off Friday following their eventful games Thursday, when the host Islanders edged the Ottawa Senators 3-2 and the visiting Blue Jackets suffered a 4-3 overtime loss to the Montreal Canadiens. Noah Dobson scored the game-winner for the Islanders 6:45 into the third period which was shortly after New York -- which committed all of its penalties in the first two periods, including seven in the second -- killed off a 5-on-3 and a 5-on-4 within the first two minutes of the final stanza.
10-26-23 | Blue Jackets v. Canadiens -108 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 16 m | Show
Amid a busy stretch this week, the Montreal Canadiens will next be tasked with trying to cool off one of the NHL's promising rookies. Columbus' Adam Fantilli looks to continue the strong start to his career, while also trying to help the visiting Blue Jackets extend their point streak to four games on Thursday night against the Canadiens. While plenty of eyes are rightfully on celebrated 2023 top overall pick Connor Bedard in Chicago, the 19-year-old Fantilli, taken two picks later, has shown his worth right out of the gate. He already has two goals with two assists through his first six games for the Blue Jackets, who have recorded five points in their past three contests. Fantilli scored in his second straight game, and recorded an assist, during Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to visiting Anaheim.
10-24-23 | Hurricanes v. Lightning +112 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 112 | 9 h 57 m | Show |
The Carolina Hurricanes and Tampa Bay Lightning will meet for the first time this season on Tuesday night at Tampa, Fla., and both are anxious to put the recent past behind them. The Lightning wasted a 3-1 third-period lead at home Saturday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs, one of their rivals in the Atlantic Division, in the second contest of Tampa Bay's five-game homestand. The game ended in a 4-3 overtime victory for the Leafs when John Tavares put away the Lightning much like he did in late April in the first round of the playoffs.
10-24-23 | Sabres +145 v. Senators | Top | 6-4 | Win | 145 | 9 h 55 m | Show |
Two teams looking to get back on track go head-to-head when the Buffalo Sabres visit the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night. The Sabres arrive in Ottawa after dropping a 3-1 decision to the Montreal Canadiens on Monday, their fourth loss in six games to start the season. Buffalo has pumped a combined 80 shots on goal in its past two games -- 37 against Montreal and 43 in a 3-1 win against the New York Islanders on Saturday. The offense, which finished third in the NHL last season with 293 goals, hasn't found its groove yet. The Sabres have scored 13 goals this season, with nine coming across three games. A slow start by last season's dominant line of Thompson, Jeff Skinner and Alex Tuch prompted coach Don Granato to switch things up late last week, putting Thompson between Dylan Cozens and Jordan Greenway while center Casey Mittelstadt slotted in with Skinner and Tuch.
10-23-23 | Canadiens +147 v. Sabres | Top | 3-1 | Win | 147 | 31 h 43 m | Show |
10-21-23 | Rangers -128 v. Seattle Kraken | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 11 h 52 m | Show
The Rangers have scored a power-play goal in each of their four games this season. It's the Rangers' longest power-play goal streak to begin a season since 2005-06 (first nine games).Expect the Rangers to play much better than they did against Nashville at home
10-20-23 | Devils -117 v. Islanders | Top | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 50 m | Show |
The New Jersey Devils will hit the road for the first time this season when they visit the New York Islanders on Friday night. The Devils didn't take advantage of a three-game homestand to open the season. After beating the Detroit Red Wings in the season opener, they lost a shootout against the Arizona Coyotes and then dropped a 4-3 decision to the Florida Panthers on Monday. New Jersey has had plenty of time to prepare for the Islanders, and coach Lindy Ruff hopes to see some improvement.
10-20-23 | Flames -138 v. Blue Jackets | 1-3 | Loss | -138 | 8 h 43 m | Show
Once again, the Columbus Blue Jackets have limped out of the gates. Heading into Friday's clash with the visiting Calgary Flames, the Blue Jackets have a 1-2-0 record and have been outscored 11-7, with the latest defeat a 4-0 thumping at the hands of the Detroit Red Wings on Monday. The Blue Jackets have had plenty of time to stew about their performance while preparing to face a Flames team that arrives after a 4-3 road win over the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday.
10-19-23 | Maple Leafs -130 v. Panthers | Top | 1-3 | Loss | -130 | 15 h 36 m | Show |
Florida, which went 1-2-0 during its season-opening road trip, will be surrounded by its faithful after last season's run to the Stanley Cup Finals. Florida eliminated Toronto in five games during the second round of the playoffs in May. Panthers center Sam Reinhart, who beat Toronto in Game 3 of last year's playoff series with his overtime goal, is off to a fast start in the current campaign. In three games, Reinhart has three goals and an assist. Two of those goals were deflections in Florida's 4-3 win over the host New Jersey Devils on Monday night at Newark. N.J. Auston Matthews, William Nylander and John Tavares lead Toronto with six points each. Matthews tops the team in goals (six) and Tavares has the most assists (five). Only eight Leafs players - including Matthews, Nylander and Tavares - were with the team during the 2022 playoffs. The rest of the cast has changed, and the Leafs are now a harder-edged team with the addition of veteran players such as the 36-year-old Ryan Reaves, John Klingberg, 31, Tyler Bertuzzi, 28, and Max Domi, 28. Still, the Leafs were outplayed on Monday night in a 4-1 home loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.
10-18-23 | Penguins v. Red Wings +114 | Top | 3-6 | Win | 114 | 7 h 27 m | Show |
Pittsburgh and Detroit both have won their last two games after a season-opening loss. They'll match up on the Red Wings' home ice on Wednesday night. The Penguins were defeated by Chicago 4-2, then won both ends of a back-to-back over the weekend. They shut out Washington 4-0 on the road, then returned home for a 5-2 victory over Calgary. Evgeni Malkin has gotten off to a strong start. The 37-year-old forward has six points, including a goal and an assist against the Flames. Malkin drew extra motivation in the offseason after missing the playoffs last season, the first time in his career the Penguins didn't participate in the postseason.
10-18-23 | Capitals v. Senators -165 | 1-6 | Win | 100 | 7 h 1 m | Show
The Ottawa Senators will aim for their third straight win when they host the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night. Ottawa opened a five-game homestand with a pair of 5-2 wins against the Philadelphia Flyers and Tampa Bay Lightning over the weekend. Washington begins a brief two-game Canada swing after splitting a pair of home games. After being blanked by the Pittsburgh Penguins on opening night, the Capitals rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Calgary Flames 3-2 in a shootout Monday night. Senators star Brady Tkachuk scored twice for the second straight game and had an assist against the Lightning on Sunday.
10-16-23 | Panthers +166 v. Devils | Top | 4-3 | Win | 166 | 15 h 38 m | Show |
The Florida Panthers, who last season reached the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 1996, are set to visit the New Jersey Devils on Monday night in Newark. New Jersey is coming off a surprising season in which the Devils set franchise records for wins (52) and points (112). Florida is off to a slow start, losing its first two games. The trek to New Jersey will culminate a three-game road trip, and the Panthers will finally get their home opener on Thursday against Toronto. The Panthers' most recent game was a 6-4 loss at Winnipeg on Saturday. One reason why is that they are missing their two top defensemen -- Aaron Ekblad and Brandon Montour. Both are on injured reserve. Ekblad had 14 goals last season, which marked the eighth time in nine years that he has reached double figures in that statistic. Montour last season set career highs with 16 goals and 57 assists, and his 73 points topped Florida defensemen. Without those two, the Panthers still have a standout defenseman in speedy Gustav Forsling, who last season set career highs in goals (13) and assists (28), playing all 82 games.
10-15-23 | Lightning v. Senators -111 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 20 h 36 m | Show |
10-14-23 | Canucks v. Oilers -195 | 4-3 | Loss | -195 | 14 h 18 m | Show
Leon Draisaitl and the Edmonton Oilers have found the positive of their season-opening debacle and are ready to make amends when they play host to the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday. The Canucks handed the heavily favored Oilers an 8-1 drubbing in Vancouver in the first half of the home-and-home set. Now, the Oilers will set out to prove their mettle in their home opener. "Obviously, we didn't want that to happen, no doubt about it, but we did and we'll learn from it and we'll move on," Draisaitl said. "Sometimes it's good to get smacked a little bit and get back to work." Draisaitl, who has collected at least one point in 19 consecutive games against the Canucks (netting 14 goals and 17 assists in that streak), added: "They're going to see a different team from us." While Draisaitl meant his club will provide a better performance, the Oilers expect a noteworthy change to their roster, as well. Defenseman Mattias Ekholm missed the opener due to a hip flexor issue that nagged him through training camp, but appears ready to take his spot on the top pairing with Evan Bouchard. In turn, the Oilers will be able to team Darnell Nurse and Cody Ceci as another pairing and place Brett Kulak and Philip Broberg together for the third duo.
10-14-23 | Predators v. Bruins -171 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 27 m | Show |
The opening to the Boston Bruins' centennial season was no on-ice masterpiece. After David Pastrnak's two goals helped the Bruins grind out a 3-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks, Boston will try to keep improving its game on Saturday as it welcomes in the Nashville Predators to complete a season-opening, two-game homestand. As for the opener, there was some good, and some bad. All to be expected. I expect Boston the be much better than they were in game one.
10-14-23 | Blackhawks +130 v. Canadiens | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 12 m | Show |
Connor Bedard will make his first trip north of the United States border when the Chicago Blackhawks visit the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night. Bedard, the highly touted No. 1 overall pick by Chicago in the 2023 NHL Draft, notched his first NHL goal in a 3-1 loss at the Boston Bruins on Wednesday, a day after producing his first assist in a 4-2 victory at the Pittsburgh Penguins.
10-12-23 | Seattle Kraken v. Predators -108 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 4 h 3 m | Show |
Opening night did not go the way either the Seattle Kraken or Nashville Predators had hoped. Each will get the chance to make up for that Thursday night when the teams meet in Nashville. The Predators opened the season Tuesday with a 5-3 loss at Tampa Bay despite a goal and an assist from newcomer Ryan O'Reilly. A few hours later, the Kraken lost 4-1 on the road against the defending Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights. At least the Kraken got to view a championship banner-raising ceremony. Predators bounce back at home
10-12-23 | Rangers v. Sabres +118 | 5-1 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 56 m | Show
The Buffalo Sabres own the NHL's longest playoff drought and last year came tantalizingly close to ending it. This time, the Sabres hope to do enough in the regular season to qualify for the postseason for the first time since 2010-11. They begin a season of raised expectations Thursday night when they host the New York Rangers, who are playing their first game under new coach Peter Laviolette. The Sabres were 42-33-7 last season and finished with 91 points but wound up one point behind the Florida Panthers for the final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference. It was their most points and wins since getting 96 and going 43-29-10 in 2010-11. Last season ended with a 9-2-1 run over their final 12 games after an early eight-game losing streak spoiled a 7-3-0 start. Buffalo enters its third full season under coach Don Granato after scoring 293 goals, which ranked third in the NHL. Tage Thompson scored 47 goals and finished with 94 points, while linemates Jeff Skinner and Alex Tuch totaled 82 and 79 points, respectively. The Sabres also bring back one of the league's top defensemen in Rasmus Dahlin, who signed an eight-year extension earlier this week after posting 15 goals and 73 points a year ago. Sabres get off to a winning start tonight
10-11-23 | Avalanche -110 v. Kings | Top | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 19 h 12 m | Show |
Colorado won't have Landeskog, the team's captain, again this year as he recovers from major knee surgery, but the team tried to address its depth-scoring issues with offseason moves. The Avalanche added veteran Ryan Johansen in a trade with Nashville and signed free agent Jonathan Drouin to shore up their top-six forward liabilities. J.T. Compher, who moved up to center the second line last season, signed with Detroit. Colorado won it all two years ago because of depth and top-level talent, and the latter is still there. Nathan MacKinnon is one of the best centers in the league and shifts his game into another gear in the playoffs, and Cale Makar is considered by many to be the best defenseman in the NHL. The Avalanche have had significant departures, most notably defenseman Erik Johnson, but the blue-line corps remains strong. The third and fourth lines are important for depth scoring, so Colorado hopes that Andrew Cogliano has recovered from two neck fractures suffered in the first-round loss to Seattle.
10-10-23 | Seattle Kraken v. Golden Knights -165 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 34 h 36 m | Show |
The Golden Knights traded veteran forward Reilly Smith to Pittsburgh for a third-round draft pick but the rest of the top three lines, led by Conn Smythe Trophy winner Jonathan Marchessault and leading playoff scorer Jack Eichel, as well as the top three defensive pairs and goaltender Adin Hill, all return.
10-07-23 | Blue Jackets +121 v. Capitals | Top | 4-2 | Win | 121 | 3 h 41 m | Show |
10-07-23 | Stars v. Wild -110 | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 2 h 57 m | Show
10-05-23 | Islanders v. Flyers -140 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 7 h 25 m | Show |
10-04-23 | Sabres v. Blue Jackets -135 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 5 h 30 m | Show |
09-24-23 | Jets v. Oilers -140 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -140 | 4 h 42 m | Show |
03-29-23 | Islanders v. Capitals +104 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 37 m | Show |
The New York Islanders will attempt to bolster their bid for a playoff spot and deliver a blow to the flickering hopes of the Washington Capitals on Wednesday when the teams meet in the nation's capital. The Islanders (38-28-9, 85 points) enter the opener of their three-game road trip having won seven of their last 11 games (7-3-1). While they hold the top wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, the Capitals (34-32-8, 76 points), in turn, have lost four of their last five games (1-3-1) to find themselves in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2013-14. Kyle Palmieri collected two goals and an assist to help New York snap a two-game winless skid with 5-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Monday.
03-28-23 | Canadiens v. Flyers -165 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 5 m | Show
The suddenly hot Philadelphia Flyers will look for their fourth consecutive victory when they host the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday. The Flyers (28-32-12, 68 points) extended their point streak to five games (4-0-1) with a resounding 3-0 shutout of the visiting Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. Goaltender Carter Hart stopped all 29 shots he faced while Scott Laughton, Kieffer Bellows and Tyson Foerster scored one goal each in the balanced effort. Despite a frustrating season for the most part, the young Flyers have played much better lately in almost every area. "You could understand if some guys kind of just rolled over and just went out there and played," Philadelphia forward Morgan Frost said. "But we're going out there to win every game, and it feels good in the room. It makes it a lot more fun to come to the rink." The penalty kill has been solid, especially in the past two wins. The Flyers killed off all seven power plays against the Red Wings and are 10-for-10 in the past two games. Philadelphia head coach John Tortorella credited assistant Brad Shaw with an adjustment in the penalty kill. |
