Steelers vs. Ravens Betting Preview

The Steelers were riding high with a 4-1 record and then they lost to Miami and in that game also lost quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to injury. He missed the next game and Pittsburgh lost their second straight game last week in New England. In their four wins the Steelers held their opponents to no more than 16 points and averaged 34 points scoring. In the last 2 weeks they lost both games and were outscored 57-31.

The Ravens have had problems with their offense all season. They aren’t getting any production from quarterback Joe Flacco who is ranked 29th with a 75.4 quarterback rating. He has thrown more interceptions (6) than touchdowns (5) including just two touchdown passes during Baltimore’s current four game losing streak. They average 19 points a game and 86.3 yards rushing with both being ranked 26th in the league. Only their defense has kept them from total disaster. They are second in total defense and ranked ninth in points allowed (19.9). But even their defense has been vulnerable lately giving up at least 24 points in three of their four losses.

The oddsmakers have the Ravens a two point favorite and put the total at 43.5. According to Covers.com Consensus Analysis the public is almost split with 54% behind Pittsburgh and 53% believe that points will be hard to come by and are backing the under.

The Ravens have won five of the last six meetings between these teams.
