Mets +105 v. Braves | | 1-7 |
Loss | -100 | 3 h 10 m | Show |
The New York Mets lost a devastating game Friday night but don't expect a hangover with Michael Wacha on the mound. Wacha isn't going to overpower anyone but he's always good for a solid 5-6 innings. The Braves are still struggling to find a 5th starter and I don't believe Touki Toussaint is it. Toussaint isn't built to be a starter and the Braves will be lucky to get 4 innings out of him. Look for the Mets to end their losing streak and get the win. The Pick: Take The Mets MORE GAMES WILL BE ADDED |

Red Sox +140 v. Mets | | 4-2 |
Win | 140 | 3 h 10 m | Show |
It's funny to say in the 6th game of the season that the Red Sox saved their season last night but in a 60 game season they may have. Winning a game with Jacob Degrom on the mound to avoid a 1-5 start was huge. An even bigger deal is some of Boston's best hitters woke up from terrible slumps to get some great at bats against an elite pitcher followed by bludgeoning the Mets bullpen. In my opinion a matchup of Steven Matz and Martin Perez is a wash in this game. I like the Red Sox bats more than the Mets and I believe last nights night's game will carry over. Take The Dog. The Pick: Take The Red Sox |

Nationals v. Blue Jays +151 | | 4-0 |
Loss | -100 | 2 h 4 m | Show |
On paper this looks like a one sided affair. On one side you have future hall of famer Max Scherzer. On the other side you have a 23 year old making his first career start. If you look closer it's a perfect storm to cash +150. Scherzer has not looked good these last couple weeks. He was bludgeoned in an exhibition game against the Phillies two weeks ago then against the Yankees he was hit pretty hard and gave up 4 runs. On the other side many in baseball predict rookie Nate Pearson will be a star. The 6'6 phenom can throw his fastball 100mph and has a wicked slider and changeup to keep batters guessing. With the Blue Jays playing all around better baseball than Washington, this is the perfect spot to back the dog. The Pick: Take The Blue Jays A NIGHT GAME MAY BE ADDED LATER |

I believe these two teams are very evenly matched so this game for me is all about starting pitching. John Lester has a been a beast and a hall of farmer in his career but the days of being a top of the rotation guy are behind him. Wade Miley is still a beast and I look for him to have great year. The Reds bats feast on Lester and get the win. The Pick: Take The Reds |

Blue Jays v. Nationals -114 | | 4-1 |
Loss | -114 | 1 h 48 m | Show |
With a tough fought series gains the Yankees behind the, the Nationals will take on a far less formidable team in Toronto. Not only do the Blue Jays not have a home park until August 11th, they also are alreasy dealing with injuries on a team that can't afford to lose talent. I look for the Nationals bats to come alive and Anibal Sanchez to hold Toronto down. The Pick: Take Washington |
07-27-20 |
Angels v. A's -107 | | 0-3 |
Win | 100 | 6 h 14 m | Show |
The Oakland Athletics have been the better team in this series especially at the plate. I believe they have the clear pitching advantage in this one as Chris Bassitt faces off against Griffin Canning. Canning is a mediocre pitcher whom the A's know well from last season. He's also coming off an elbow injury that would of delayed his start to this season if it started on time. Bassitt and the A's offense will be too much and the Athletics get the series win. The Pick: Take The Athletics More Games May Be Added Today

Angels v. A's -136 | | 4-1 |

After missing the first 5 months of 2019 with shoulder surgery Sean Manaea came back in September and was lights out with a 4-0 record that helping the A's clinch a Wild Card berth. Then he got smoked in that Wild Card game lasting two innings against the Rays. He is itching to get out there for his first start of the season to get that taste out of his mouth and I look for him to throw a gem. For my money the Angels playoff hopes are in trouble if they're counting on Dylan Bundy. I understand that he's been in baseball purgatory by pitching for Baltimore the last few seasons but I don't think the change of scenery is going to help him. His fastball is nowhere near where it was a few seasons back as he rarely got it above 92 last season, so his secondary pitches struggle. Look for him to struggle in 2020 including his first start against Oakland. The Pick: Take The A's |
07-24-20 |
Blue Jays v. Rays -145 | | 6-4 |
Loss | -145 | 2 h 43 m | Show |
In my opinion a team that will be helped immensely by the shortened season are the Tampa Bay Rays. They have arguably the best pitching staff in the American and their lineup can beat you in many ways. Charlie Morton is a stud who will be ready to go right out of the gate. Toronto may be destined for last place in the AL East and Ryu will not be as good without that Dodger lineup backing him up. I'm taking the Rays. The Pick:Take The Rays |

Nationals +125 v. Astros | | 6-2 |
Win | 125 | 19 h 40 m | Show |
Before the series started I was on the Nationals because I thought Scherzer and Strasburg were a better 1-2 than Cole and Verlander and the Nationals offense were playing so well I thought the offenses would be even. No one expected the road team to win the first 6 games of the series as it has not happened before in the Championship round of baseball, basketball or hockey. But when Scherzer's back spasms forced him out of game 5 I instantly thought if he can go in game 7 the Nationals would still win it. Strasburg outpitched Verlander again and now Scherzer gets the ball against Greinke with scheduled game 7 starter Sanchez in the bullpen. Give that to me over an overrated Zack Greinke anyday. The Nationals win The World Series. The Pick: Take The Nationals. #4 Ranked MLB Handicapper in 2018 #3 Ranked MLB Handicapper in 2019 See You In 2020! |

Loss | -100 | 8 h 40 m | Show |
I understand why the Yankees are throwing a bullpen in game in Game 6 but the Astros throwing a bullpen game is a mistake in my opinion. The Astros should throw Gerrit Cole on 3 days rest and go to the all hands on deck approach in Game 7 with Greinke and Verlander thrown into the mix for a few innings apiece. Verlander will not be available for an inning or 2 in game 6 after throwing last night and Greinke might only get 1. The Yankees bullpen were built for this game. They are the best in baseball and I like them to hold the Astros at bay long enough to allow the Yankees bats to score some runs on Houston. The Pick: Take The Yankees |
10-17-19 |
Astros v. Yankees -124 | | 8-3 |
Loss | -124 | 20 h 40 m | Show |
It takes a special pitcher to shut down this powerful Yankee lineup in Yankee stadium and Gerrit Cole is that kind of special. Unfortunately for the Astros, Zach Greinke at the age of 35 is not. Not only has Greinke been battered by the Rays and Yankees in both of his post season starts, he was 2-4 on the road in 2019 against playoff teams. That includes a loss at Yankee stadium in his last start for the Diamondbacks back in July. He hasn't pitched in the environment he'll pitch in on Thursday in a long time. He's walking into a snake pit against an offense that will be very aggressive in a desperate attempt to tie the series up and a crowd as intimidating as there is. I look for him to struggle and get pulled before the 5th inning. On the other side Tanaka has pitched outstanding in his two playoff outings against the second and third best offenses in the American League. Since June 1st the Yankees are 9-1 in Tanka's home starts and that includes beating the Astros at the stadium back in June. I think the Astros will get some runs on Tanaka but the Yankees offense will give him some cushion and after the rainout the fully rested best Bullpen in baseball will close it down for him in the later innings. I'm betting the Yankees to tie up the series at 2. The Pick: Take The Yankees |

Astros -147 v. Yankees | | 4-1 |

This bet is pretty simple for me, until someone proves they can beat Gerrit Cole this season I'm riding him. Hell teams can't even score on him lately. Cole has proven that he is the best pitcher in baseball at the moment and is a virtual lock for the AL Cy Young. Since May 27 Cole is 18-0 with a 1.66 ERA and the Astros are 22-2 in those starts (including the last 15 in a row). Cole struck out a Major League leading 326 batters this season and has at least 10 strikeouts in his last 11 starts, while averaging almost 16 per 9 innings. The Yankees offense is the best in baseball and the best I've seen in a long time but Cole is a Monster! I'm betting the Astros to take back home field. The Pick: Take The Astros. |

Adam Wainwright has pitched well down the stretch, stringing together 4-5 great performances before giving up 11 earned runs and 5 home runs in his last two starts. Wainwright is 38 years old and hasn't pitched this many innings since 2015 so fatigue is starting to be a factor. It would be a feel good story for him to throw one more gem in the playoffs in front of the home fans but I just don't see it happening. The top of the Braves lineup is as good as any team in the Playoffs and Wainwright just doesn't have the stuff he had from 2009-2014 to be able to keep this Braves offense down for more than a couple innings. On the other side Soroka looks like the real deal. He had a few hiccups down the stretch but that was due to the Braves limiting his innings and giving him too much rest between starts in order to save him for the postseason. There is a reason Braves manager Brian Snitker saved him for game 3 on the road. Soroka was incredible on the road all season going 7-1 and giving up 16 earned runs in 17 road starts. I think the 22 year old will shine and his offense will give him the run support to get the win. The Pick: Take The Braves |

Last season Athletics manager Bob Melvin made a mistake by going with an opener over Mike Fiers in the Wild Card game and Aaron Judge made him pay with a 1st inning homer. This year he's by passing Fiers again for Sean Manaea who returned in September after a full year off from injury to pitch great down the stretch. Fiers has been their best pitcher all season but had a couple hiccups in September while Manaea pitched well against some really bad teams already looking towards vacation (Texas, Seattle and Detroit) Tampa Bay's offense will present a much more difficult matchup for Manaea with no room for error. Because Charlie Morton and this Tampa Bay pitching staff as a whole are incredible. Since July 1st Tampa Bay went 12-4 in games Morton pitched (5-0 in September) of those 4 losses they lost on the road to Houston and the Yankees while also losing a pair of 2-0 games where Morton pitched 14 innings while only giving up a total of 3 runs. Tampa has arguably the best bullpen in baseball behind Morton if he gets in trouble and this team gives up the least amount of home runs in baseball. My money is on the Tampa pitching staff getting the job done and moving on to play Houston. The Pick: Take The Rays |
