No. 23 Wisconsin will be looking to bounce back from a lopsided loss to a top-ranked foe when it hosts Jacksonville State in a non-conference matchup on Thursday night in Madison, Wis. After recording impressive victories over No. 7 Marquette and Michigan State, the Badgers (7-3) saw their six-game winning streak come to a halt with a 97-73 setback to No. 1 Arizona on Saturday. Wisconsin stayed close early before the Wildcats closed the first half with a 25-8 run for a 48-31 lead at the break. The Badgers seemed to regain their defensive identity during their winning streak, allowing just 56.7 points per game. They outrebounded opponents by 11.2 per game, including Marquette by 38-23 and Michigan State 36-22. Wisconsin, however, was outrebounded by the Wildcats 39-30 and outscored 42-32 in the paint. After limiting each of the six previous opponents to 46.2 percent shooting or less, Arizona connected on 58.3 percent of its shots — including 12 of 26 from 3-point range. |

After consecutive losses, including a come-from-ahead defeat to Southern, Mississippi State coach Chris Jans had a simple message for his Bulldogs on Saturday before they played Tulane in Atlanta. Message received. The Bulldogs roared to a 62-34 lead at halftime and cruised to a 106-76 win, ending their brief skid and providing themselves with a reset. Mississippi State will try to keep that level of play going on Wednesday night in Starkville when it hosts Murray State in another non-conference contest. The Bulldogs (7-2) hit 58.6 percent of their field-goal tries Saturday and led by as many as 41 points in the second half against a good opponent. Freshman Josh Hubbard came off the bench to score a game-high 22 points, increasing his scoring average to a team-high 16.7 points per game. Meanwhile, the Racers (3-5) haven't gotten off to the start they wanted. They've lost five of their last six, including Saturday night's 53-49 defeat at Austin Peay in which they made only 19 of 51 shots from the field, including 7 of 25 from the 3-point line. |

Georgia Southern v. Tennessee UNDER 145 | Top | 56-74 |
Win | 100 | 10 h 35 m | Show |
No. 12 Tennessee will look to extend a pair of streaks on Tuesday when it hosts winless Georgia Southern in Knoxville, Tenn. The Volunteers (6-3) answered a three-game skid against three ranked foes with a convincing victory over George Mason on Tuesday and delivered a spirited comeback versus then-No. 20 Illinois on Saturday. The 86-79 triumph over the Fighting Illini not only gave Tennessee back-to-back victories but also extended its nonconference home winning streak to 25 games. Dalton Knecht scored 13 of his 21 points in the second half against Illinois. Knecht, who averages a team-best 19.2 points per game, has led the Volunteers in scoring in seven of his nine games this season. Tennessee received double-digit scoring performances from all of its starters for the first time this season. Jonas Aidoo recorded 14 points and seven rebounds, Santiago Vescovi added 12 and nine, respectively, Josiah-Jordan James scored 12 points and Zakai Zeigler added 11. While Volunteers coach Rick Barnes was content with what he saw on offense, he was quick to credit his charges for their play at the other end of the floor. Tennessee enjoyed a 43-34 edge on the boards against Illinois, who entered the game ranked among the national leaders in rebounds. |

Tenn-Martin v. NC State UNDER 164 | Top | 67-81 |
Win | 100 | 9 h 21 m | Show |
North Carolina State has been encouraged on several levels after nearly a weeklong layoff in its schedule. The Wolfpack will try to rebuild some momentum starting with Tuesday night's game against visiting UT Martin in Raleigh, N.C. The addition of wing MJ Rice, a transfer from Kansas, is expected to have long-term benefits. Rice made his Wolfpack debut in the team's most recent game, scoring 11 points in less than 11 minutes off the bench in a 93-61 victory over Maryland-Eastern Shore. NC State (6-2) has won two games in a row following a two-game skid that included a 72-52 loss against Ole Miss. Tuesday's game will mark the Wolfpack's return to PNC Arena after the UMES game was held at Reynolds Coliseum. UT Martin (6-4) had an eight-day layoff before defeating visiting NCCAA member Ecclesia 110-52 on Sunday. Half of the Skyhawks' victories have come against non-Division I teams. |

Win | 100 | 6 h 18 m | Show |
The moods are decidedly different as Tulsa and Oklahoma State go into their nonconference, neutral-site matchup Sunday in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma State is accustomed to beating its in-state rival, having gone 75-39 in the series, including an 82-56 victory last season in Stillwater. This year, however, has presented a series of early disappointments for the Cowboys (3-5). Oklahoma State has dropped two consecutive games, including a 70-68 defeat Tuesday at Southern Illinois, the Cowboys' only true road game of the season. Coach Mike Boynton, who said Oklahoma State fans "deserve an apology" after a season-opening loss to visiting Abilene Christian, is still looking for answers. In four of the defeats, the Cowboys had opportunities to tie or take the lead in the waning seconds. |

Blake Hinson will have a hard act to follow when Pitt hosts Canisius on Saturday evening. The Panthers' senior guard sank nine three-pointers and scored a career-best 29 points in an 80-63 road win over rival West Virginia on Wednesday night. Pitt (6-3) had 38 attempts from 3-point range, making 16, while providing an offensive barrage that left the Mountaineers behind in the second half. Pitt averages 30.0 attempts from distance per game, which is easily the most in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Hinson is making 4.3 3-pointers per outing, which ranks second in Division I behind only Hofstra's Tyler Thomas (4.5). He attempts 9.6 from the 3-point line each time out -- which ranks fourth in the country -- and has led the Panthers in scoring in five of its nine contests this season. The Golden Griffins (6-4) will likely have their hands full with the scoring threat. |

Ohio State will take a brief interlude from Big Ten play and look to extend its six-game winning streak against visiting Miami (OH) on Wednesday night in Columbus. The Buckeyes (7-1) defeated Minnesota 84-74 on Sunday in their conference opener. After playing the RedHawks (4-3), they will return to league action Saturday at Penn State before playing their final three nonconference games to finish December. The Buckeyes took care of Minnesota on the strength of 26 points from Bruce Thornton, 25 from Jamison Battle and Roddy Gayle Jr.'s 16. The trio combined to shoot 20-of-32 (62.5 percent) from the floor. Despite those lofty numbers, Battle insists the Buckeyes have a balanced attack. |

When it comes to the perks Florida Atlantic earned following last season's run to the Final Four, Tuesday's ranks pretty high as the 11th-ranked Owls travel to New York to face No. 20 Illinois in the Jimmy V Classic opener. FAU coach Dusty May couldn't help but muse about his program's good fortune shortly after the Owls knocked off Charleston on Saturday night in the final of the Field of 68 Tip-Off. A mid-major getting its chance in the spotlight at MSG in the Jimmy V Classic isn't unheard of, though. Butler played Georgetown in the event in 2009 as a member of the Horizon League. That same 2009-10 Bulldogs team ended up going all the way to the 2010 NCAA Tournament title game. |

Delaware v. Xavier -11.5 | Top | 87-80 |
Loss | -110 | 9 h 51 m | Show |
fter a loss that showed the Musketeers are not all that far from the team they want to be, Xavier will stay at home for a matchup against Delaware on Tuesday in Cincinnati. Battle-tested Xavier is far from content with its overall situation. It's dropped four of six overall and lost consecutive home games, including one to then-No. 6 Houston on Friday. Houston is No. 3 this week. Another of those Xavier defeats came on the road Nov. 13 against Purdue, then the No. 2 team in the country. The matchup with Purdue was a Gavitt Tipoff Games contest, while Friday's was a matchup in the Big East-Big 12 Battle. The competitive 66-60 loss to Houston took away at least a bit of the sting that came from a 78-76 home loss to Oakland last week. The Musketeers (4-4) received 17 points from Quincy Olivari on Friday, while Desmond Claude scored 14 points. Xavier shot just 32.7 percent from the field but held the Cougars to a season-low 34.4 percent. |

Furman v. Arkansas -11 | Top | 83-97 |
Win | 100 | 8 h 26 m | Show |
Now that Arkansas has regained a level of confidence, the Razorbacks look for a strong follow-up performance when they host Furman on Monday night at Fayetteville, Ark. Arkansas (5-3) toppled then-No. 7 Duke on Wednesday night for a signature win. Furman (4-4) is coming off Saturday's 70-69 loss at undefeated Princeton, which won on a late 3-point basket. A meeting with Furman might look like a bit of a breather for Arkansas, which faced nationally ranked North Carolina and Duke in its past two games and has a home date with No. 25 Oklahoma on Saturday. But don't expect the Razorbacks to overlook the Paladins, who play in the Southern Conference. UNC Greensboro, also a member of that league, pulled a 78-72 upset at Arkansas on Nov. 17. |

Ohio State has yet to play a Big Ten game this season, but forward Jamison Battle, in his first season with the Buckeyes, already knows the feeling of winning a conference matchup in Columbus. That's because Battle spent the past two seasons playing for Minnesota, which plays at Ohio State (6-1) in the Big Ten opener for both teams on Sunday. The Golden Gophers won 70-67 last season in their most recent visit when Battle scored 11 points. The fifth-year transfer downplayed the significance of playing his former team for the first time. He said it's more important to build on the Buckeyes' fifth straight win, 88-61 over Central Michigan on Wednesday. |

Myles Rice prefers to look ahead. Considering what he's been through, that is understandable. The Washington State guard, whose team will play host to Portland State on Saturday afternoon in Pullman, Wash., missed last season while receiving chemotherapy for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Rice is coming off a career-high 28 points in an 82-72 victory against visiting Eastern Washington on Monday in which he made his first six 3-point attempts. Washington State coach Kyle Smith said he thinks Rice's battle last season changed his perspective. |

UCLA returns home to Los Angeles on Thursday, hosting UC Riverside after the Bruins' 1-2 showing last week at the Maui Invitational in Honolulu. UCLA (4-2) went to the wire in losses against then-No. 4 Marquette, 71-69 on Nov. 20, and 69-65 on Nov. 22 to No. 11 Gonzaga. The setbacks bookended a 76-48 rout of Div. II program Chaminade, the Maui Invitational host. Sebastian Mack was a standout in all three games. He was named the Pac-12 Conference Player of the Week after performances of 25 points against Marquette and 16 points against both Chaminade and Gonzaga. Mack is setting the scoring pace for the Bruins through six games at 15.8 points per game. |

Loss | -110 | 9 h 43 m | Show |
Fresh off its biggest victory of the young season, Texas Tech takes on another challenge Thursday with a road game against Butler as part of the inaugural Big East-Big 12 Battle. The Red Raiders rolled past Michigan 73-57 last week at the Battle for Atlantis to finish 2-1 at the event. The Bulldogs (5-2) delivered a similar showing in Orlando at the ESPN Events Invitational, with back-to-back wins against Penn State and Boise State after a narrow loss to No. 19 Florida Atlantic. Now two teams with reconstructed rosters collide as they work toward establishing a long-term identity. For Texas Tech (5-1), this is the first true road game, and that's a challenge first-year coach Grant McCasland wants his team to embrace. |

No. 18 Villanova will look to extend its winning streak to five when it hosts Big 5 rival Saint Joseph's on Wednesday. The annual matchup is known as the "Holy War" between the two Philadelphia-area schools, which are located less than eight miles apart. The Wildcats (6-1) defeated Maryland and then ousted Texas Tech, North Carolina and Memphis to capture the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas. Villanova led the Tigers by as many as 35 points before winning 79-63 in the championship game. Eric Dixon was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after averaging 21.6 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Justin Moore scored 11 points against Memphis and joined Dixon on the All-Tournament team. Villanova suffered a disappointing 76-72 loss to Penn on Nov. 13. They haven't lost since. |

The first edition of the ACC-SEC Challenge presents challenges of its own for Mississippi State coach Chris Jans and Georgia Tech coach Damon Stoudamire. Jans and the Bulldogs (6-0), ranked No. 21 in the country, travel to Atlanta for their first true road game of the season on Tuesday. In his second season at the helm of the Mississippi State program, Jans has his team off to another hot start. In 2022, the Bulldogs won their first 11 games of the season and rose to as high as No. 15 in the polls. The team lost eight of its next nine games, quickly dropping from the rankings. This year's team has a different mindset about seeing that little number next to its name. |

Georgia Southern v. Michigan State -28 | Top | 55-86 |

Michigan State did not expect to be a .500 team heading into its final game of the month. The No. 21 Spartans are 3-3 after losing to No. 3 Arizona 74-68 on Thanksgiving Day. With the team's Big 10 opener fast approaching, Michigan State plays host to winless Georgia Southern on Tuesday at East Lansing, Mich. The Spartans face Big Ten opponents Wisconsin and Nebraska during their first two games of December. Michigan State trailed by as much as 15 points in the first half against Arizona, which had a 40-30 halftime advantage. The Spartans then rallied to take a 66-63 lead with 3:58 remaining. Arizona answered with an 8-0 run for a 71-66 lead with 1:23 left and Michigan State was unable to respond. |

Wisconsin will be looking to extend its three-game winning streak when it hosts Western Illinois on Monday in Madison before the Badgers enter a gauntlet against ranked opponents. Wisconsin (4-2) overcame a 10-point second-half deficit to rally past SMU 69-61 on Wednesday in the championship game of the Fort Myers Tip-Off. Western Illinois (2-4) lost at Illinois 84-52 on Friday. After Western Illinois, Wisconsin faces No. 4 Marquette, No. 21 Michigan State and No. 3 Arizona in an eight-day span. After dominating No. 24 Virginia 65-41 in the Fort Myers opener, the Badgers overcame a dismal first half against SMU with strong play down the stretch, pulling away from a 57-57 tie. After hitting just 1 of their first 19 three-pointers against SMU, the Badgers hit 4 of their last 5. Wisconsin also held a 40-24 edge in points in the paint and was 12-of-13 from the free-throw line. Tyler Wahl had 14 points and the Badgers had four other players in double figures in winning their third straight. |

In Otzelberger's first season with Iowa State in 2021-22, they knocked off No. 25 Xavier and No. 9 Memphis to win the NIT Season Tip-Off. Last year, the Cyclones took down Villanova and top-ranked North Carolina before losing to eventual national champion UConn in the Phil Knight Invitational final. This time around, it will be the Rams standing in the way of another successful non-conference tournament run. For Otzelberger, the challenge given to his team will be to focus on the now and not its future opponents. |

Texas A&M and the Nittany Lions are both off to 4-0 starts as they participate in the three-game event held over four days just south of Orlando. As for Coleman, he is the first Texas A&M player to record three straight double-doubles since Tyler Davis did it twice during the 2017-18 season. But in the last two games, they beat Detroit Mercy 70-69 on Nov. 14 and Sam Houston 70-67 three days later. Ole Miss seized a two-point lead against Sam Houston on Jaylen Murray's 3-pointer with 1:05 left. They added a free throw to account for the final score. The Owls already have played two games on opponents' home courts, although one was against cross-town rival Drexel. They followed those two games with a home loss to Columbia 78-73 on Saturday. |

Mississippi State v. Washington State +7.5 | Top | 76-64 |
Loss | -110 | 1 h 52 m | Show |
The Cougars (2-0) posted convincing wins against Idaho and Prairie View A&M before getting time off to prepare for their matchup against Mississippi State. Washington State shot better than 50.0 percent from the floor in its first two wins and 54.0 percent overall. Myles Rice, who sat out last season while undergoing treatment for Hodgkin lymphoma, is averaging 14.0 points this season. Isaac Jones logged a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds in the 83-65 victory over Prairie View A&M on Nov. 10. Jones had 11 double-doubles at Idaho last season and averaged 6.9 trips to the free throw line, which ranked 14th in the nation. The 6-foot-9 forward has stepped to the line 17 times so far this season, making nine. |

Belmont v. Arizona UNDER 170.5 | Top | 68-100 |
Win | 100 | 11 h 1 m | Show |
Keshad Johnson, a fifth-year senior transfer, has provided an early energy boost to No. 3 Arizona, which takes on Belmont on Friday night in Tucson, Ariz. Johnson, who helped San Diego State reach the national title game last season, leads Arizona (3-0) in scoring and rebounding through its fast start to the season, which includes a 78-73 victory at Duke on Nov. 10. Johnson is averaging 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Johnson was known more for his defensive presence with the Aztecs - he averaged 7.7 points per game last season -- but he is flourishing in an up-tempo attack and running the court to get easy baskets in transition, just like his predecessor at power forward, Azuolas Tubelis did with the Wildcats. |

No. 16 Southern California continues its early-season homestand on Tuesday night when it hosts UC Irvine in Los Angeles. The Trojans (2-0) followed an 82-69 season-opening defeat of Kansas State in Las Vegas on Nov. 6 with an 85-59 blowout of Cal State Bakersfield on Thursday. USC never trailed in Thursday's rout, which was the first of three home games for the Trojans before they travel to the San Diego area for a Thanksgiving weekend tournament also featuring Seton Hall, Oklahoma and Iowa. Freshman guard Isaiah Collier scored 19 points against the Roadrunners after an 18-point debut vs. Kansas State. Boogie Ellis was one of five Trojans who scored in double figures on Thursday with 11 points after a 24-point, eight-rebound performance in the season opener. Ellis also had five assists and three steals against the Wildcats. |

Wofford v. Tennessee OVER 142 | Top | 61-82 |
Win | 100 | 9 h 20 m | Show |
No. 7 Tennessee scored exactly 80 points in each of its first two victories of the season. The Volunteers (2-0) may need more than that to beat high-scoring Wofford (2-0) on Tuesday night in Knoxville, Tenn. The Terriers pulled out a 99-98 victory on Saturday against High Point after scoring 85 in their opener. History is on Tennessee's side, having swept the seven previous meetings with Wofford from 1952 to 2004. The Volunteers are coming off an impressive 80-70 win Friday night at Wisconsin, their first road victory against a current Big Ten school since 1992. Northern Colorado transfer Dalton Knecht led the Volunteers with 24 points against the Badgers. Josiah-Jordan James added 14 points and Jonas Aidoo and Jordan Gainey each had 10. |

Loss | -110 | 7 h 3 m | Show |
Florida State will be looking to open a season at 2-0 for the first time since the 2020-21 team won its first four games when it hosts Central Michigan Monday night in Tallahassee, Fla. The Seminoles (1-0) opened the season with a 94-67 romp past Kennesaw State Friday night to open a campaign seeking to erase the memories of last season's 0-4 start that became 1-9. The Chippewas (0-2) are coming off a 74-64 home loss to Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday after losing their opener 89-59 at Oklahoma earlier in the week. Junior Anthony Pritchard, a transfer from Tulsa, leads Central Michigan in scoring with 26 points in the two games. His average of 13.0 ppg is the only one in double figures for the Chippewas. Chippewas coach Tony Barbee lamented his team's lack of consistency in the loss to Monroe. |

Nevada +5 v. Washington | Top | 83-76 |
Win | 100 | 10 h 20 m | Show |
So far, so good for Washington. The Huskies' 75-67 win over Northern Kentucky on Thursday in Seattle gives the Huskies a 2-0 record and allowed them to start a stretch of back-to-back games against NCAA Tournament teams from last year on the right foot. Washington should step up a little bit in class Sunday night when it welcomes Nevada to town. The Huskies will probably hope for a little more balance than they got against Northern Kentucky. Keion Brooks and Sahvir Wheeler combined for two-thirds of their points Thursday. Brooks scored 19 of his career-high 32 points in the second half and grabbed 10 rebounds. Wheeler, the Kentucky transfer, added 18 points and seven assists. |

Push | 0 | 1 h 36 m | Show |
In its season opener, Cincinnati's defense did not match its shooting prowess. In the second game, both elements clicked for the Bearcats. The Bearcats hope to effectively mix both elements again Sunday afternoon when they host Eastern Washington in the second game of the Cincinnati Basketball Tournament. Cincinnati (2-0) enters Sunday coming off two differing performances. In their 69-58 win over Illinois-Chicago on Monday, the Bearcats shot 41.8 percent and misfired on 20 of 25 3-point tries. The rough showing from the offense occurred when it allowed UIC to shoot 43.3 percent from the floor and 2 of 16 from behind the arc. On Friday against Detroit Mercy, Cincinnati scored 60 points by halftime and cruised to a 93-61 rout. The Bearcats shot 62.1 percent in the first half and 49.3 percent overall in a game that saw them hit 16 of 34 3-point tries. |

In the Highlanders' season-opening win, Barrington Hargress scored a team-high 16 points. Jhaylon Martinez added 13 points and Luke Turner chipped in with 11. Utah handed UC Riverside lopsided losses in the programs' previous two matchups -- 88-42 in 2014 and 85-67 in 2016.
