11-08-23 | Arizona State v. Mississippi State OVER 130 | Top | 56-71 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 13 m | Show |
Arizona State and Mississippi State both reached the NCAA Tournament last season, so both should get a good test when they meet for their season opener in the Barstool Sports Invitational on Wednesday night in Chicago. ASU went 23-13 a season ago and won a play-in game against Nevada (98-73) before losing to TCU (72-70) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Sun Devils return just three players from that team, and Hurley brought in seven transfers from other Division I programs to restock the roster.
11-08-23 | Florida Atlantic v. Loyola-Chicago UNDER 142 | Top | 75-62 | Win | 100 | 10 h 33 m | Show |
Returning all five starters from an improbable run to the first Final Four in program history understandably has Florida Atlantic men's basketball fans buzzing. As for the No. 10 Owls? They are walking the impossible line of excitement and practicality. FAU knows everything starts over Wednesday when the team meets Loyola Chicago in the opener of the Barstool Sports Invitational at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.
11-07-23 | Stony Brook v. St. John's -18 | Top | 74-90 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 10 m | Show |
The instant Rick Pitino arrived to coach St. John's on March 20, expectations were raised for a program without an NCAA Tournament win since 2000. After a busy offseason highlighted by a roster revamp, the highly anticipated Pitino era gets underway on Tuesday night when the Red Storm host Stony Brook in the season opener for both teams in New York. Pitino joined St. John's after three years at Iona -- his first collegiate job since being dismissed from Louisville in 2017 because of an FBI investigation that led to allegations of NCAA violations. Eventually, Pitino was cleared in the FBI-related case and led Iona to two NCAA Tournament berths. The Red Storm went 18-15 overall and 7-13 in Big East play, finishing eighth in the conference in the fourth and final season under Mike Anderson. St. John's did not reach the NCAA Tournament under Anderson and has played in five tourney games since its last win in 2000.
11-07-23 | Florida Gulf Coast v. Indiana UNDER 143.5 | Top | 63-69 | Win | 100 | 10 h 55 m | Show |
As it comes off a 23-win campaign, Indiana will feature several new faces when it opens its season against Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday evening in Bloomington, Ind. The Hoosiers will welcome newcomers Kel'el Ware, Mackenzie Mgbako and Gabe Cupps. Ware is a sophomore transfer from Oregon who was a McDonald's All-American in 2022, and Mgbako is a true freshman who earned McDonald's All-American status last season. Indiana coach Mike Woodson hopes the influx of talent can help fill the void left by longtime standout Trayce Jackson-Davis, who averaged 20.9 points and 10.8 rebounds last season. Jackson-Davis now plays for the NBA's Golden State Warriors. Ware is a 7-foot center who averaged 6.6 points and 4.1 rebounds for Oregon last season. He also blocked 1.3 shots per game. The North Little Rock, Ark., native will get every chance to build upon those numbers this season.
11-06-23 | Idaho +21.5 v. Washington State | Top | 59-84 | Loss | -110 | 25 h 25 m | Show |
Washington State welcomes nine newcomers this season, including one player from Idaho, which will play at Pullman, Wash., on Monday night in the Battle of the Palouse. The two schools, separated by eight miles, took a season off in their longstanding rivalry last season. They will meet for the 278th time, with Washington State leading the series 167-110. Isaac Jones, a 6-foot-9 senior forward, averaged 19.4 points and 7.8 rebounds a game last season for the Vandals and is among the players who will experience the rivalry. Kyle Smith, entering his fifth season as Washington State's head coach, plans to play a big lineup of Jones, 6-11 junior college transfer Oscar Cluff and 6-11 true freshman Rueben Chinyelu of Nigeria at the same time.
11-06-23 | Samford v. Purdue -19 | Top | 45-98 | Win | 100 | 21 h 10 m | Show |
The last time Purdue's men's basketball team played a meaningful game, it was being dealt an upset for the ages at last season's NCAA Tournament. The Boilermakers' 63-58 first-round loss to Fairleigh Dickinson in Columbus, Ohio, seemed less a fluke and more a bad matchup as the game progressed. They couldn't get enough help for National Player of the Year Zach Edey and had trouble keeping the Knights from getting the shots they wanted. It added up to just the second 16-over-1 victory in NCAA tourney history, sending Purdue into a long offseason that will finally end on Nov. 6 when it starts the new season in West Lafayette, Ind., against Samford. On paper, it's hard to imagine the Boilermakers won't make a March impact in 2024. They won 29 games last season and return nearly all of their starters, including Edey (22.3 points, 12.9 rebounds, 2.1 blocked shots). Purdue added quick, defensive-minded guard Lance Jones in the transfer portal. He also scored 1,514 points in four years at Southern Illinois, where he never had a post player like Edey.
03-24-23 | San Diego State v. Alabama OVER 137.5 | Top | 71-64 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 24 m | Show |
Win or lose in the Sweet 16 matchup with No. 1 overall seed Alabama, San Diego State strives to control the pace. For the Aztecs to defeat the Crimson Tide in the South Region semifinal on Friday in Louisville, Ky., the No. 5 seed has to live up to its reputation. "San Diego State's defense is elite," Alabama coach Nate Oats said. The Aztecs (29-6) led the nation in transition defense, and with a rotation that touches 10 players and beyond, San Diego State follows an old-school philosophy: Defend and offense will follow. The Mountain West champions expected to be in Louisville with this opportunity, even if others didn't
03-23-23 | Michigan State v. Kansas State +1.5 | Top | 93-98 | Win | 100 | 9 h 44 m | Show |
Standing on the scorer's table with a microphone after Kansas State stunned visiting Kansas in overtime, Wildcats coach Jerome Tang led the crowd in a chant of "K-S-U!" It was what he said next that stayed with people, inside and outside of Manhattan, Kan. "I told y'all, you get one court storming," Tang said Jan. 17. "From here on out, expect to win." From the Little Apple to the Big one, third-seeded Kansas State arrives for the Sweet 16, extending Tang's first season as coach. The Wildcats will take on seventh-seeded Michigan State on Thursday at Madison Square Garden. Kansas State (25-9) defeated sixth-seeded Kentucky 75-69 in Sunday's second-round NCAA Tournament game to reach the East Region semifinals. It marks the program's first Sweet 16 appearance since 2018 and just its third since the 1980s. Tang was an assistant and associate head coach at Baylor for 20 years before getting the chance to run his own Big 12 program. He had to assemble most of the current roster through the transfer portal, with only two players returning last year's squad. That included landing feel-good story Keyontae Johnson, who collapsed on the court while playing for Florida in 2020 and worked hard to resume his basketball career.
03-21-23 | Wisconsin v. Oregon -4.5 | Top | 61-58 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 13 m | Show |
Top-seeded Oregon will be facing a Wisconsin team similarly focused on opportunity rather than disappointment when the Ducks host the Badgers in the NIT quarterfinals on Tuesday night in Eugene, Ore. Oregon (21-14) defeated UCF 68-54 in the second round Sunday. Second-seeded Wisconsin (19-14), which had appeared in 22 of the last 23 NCAA tournaments before missing out this season, rallied past Liberty 75-71 on Sunday. "We've got a chance to play Wisconsin on Tuesday night at home. We don't get Big Ten teams to come out here very often," Oregon coach Dana Altman said. "... So I hope the students will respond, that people respond." It will be the first meeting between the two since the 12th-seeded Ducks upset the fifth-seeded Badgers 72-54 in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament. Oregon rolled past UCF behind a career-high 21 points and 13 rebounds from 7-foot sophomore Nate Bittle. The Ducks were again without their two top scorers, post player N'Faly Dante and guard Jermaine Couisnard. Their status vs. Wisconsin is undecided.
03-20-23 | Rice v. Southern Utah -6 | Top | 79-81 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 52 m | Show |
The Owls are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a straight up win.
03-19-23 | Creighton +1.5 v. Baylor | Top | 85-76 | Win | 100 | 7 h 23 m | Show |
Ryan Kalkbrenner could pose a matchup problem for his next opponent as sixth-seeded Creighton and third-seeded Baylor prepare for a second-round showdown at the NCAA Tournament on Sunday in Denver. Both programs are eyeing a return to the Sweet 16 via the South Region. Baylor and Creighton each made the second weekend of the tournament in 2021, when the Bears went on to win the national championship, but both lost in the second round in 2022. Kalkbrenner, the 7-foot-1 center who leads Creighton (22-12) in scoring at 15.9 points per game is coming off a career-high 31-point showing in the Bluejays' 72-63 first-round win over North Carolina State. Kalkbrenner had six dunks and seven rebounds in that game and finished 11-for-14 from the floor. He leads Division I in field-goal percentage at 71.4 percent, with a 74.4 percent rate from two-point range. That spells trouble for the Bears (23-10), despite their higher seed and championship experience. Their weakness is guarding the interior; they rank outside the top 300 nationally in two-point defense, allowing 53.4 percent shooting inside the arc.
03-19-23 | Michigan State v. Marquette UNDER 139.5 | Top | 69-60 | Win | 100 | 6 h 35 m | Show |
Two teams with rich NCAA tournament traditions meet when the No. 2-seeded Marquette Golden Eagles battle the No. 7 Michigan State Spartans Sunday in a second-round East Region contest in Columbus, Ohio. The winner advances to the East Region semifinals Thursday at Madison Square Garden in New York. Both teams were able to avoid the upset bug on Friday in Columbus. Marquette (29-6) set a new school record for most wins in a season, handling No. 15 seed Vermont, 78-61, leading nearly wire to wire. Marquette's previous high for wins in a season was 28 in 1970-71, going undefeated until losing to Ohio State in the NCAA regional semifinals. Marquette won the national championship in 1977 and reached the Final Four in 2003. Michigan State (20-12) has captured two national championships (1979, 2000) and has made the Final Four 10 times, including most recently in 2019. Unlike Purdue, Michigan State was a Big Ten team that escaped the upset on Friday, dispatching of Pac-12 foe USC, 72-62, to earn a showdown with a program that was once a big rival.
03-18-23 | Auburn v. Houston UNDER 132.5 | Top | 64-81 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 59 m | Show |
No. 1 Houston will have questions aplenty when it battles ninth-seeded Auburn in a Round of 32 game in the Midwest Region of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday in Birmingham, Ala. First and foremost for Houston (32-3) will be the health of All-American guard Marcus Sasser, who scored just five points before aggravating a groin injury in the Cougars' tougher-than-expected, 63-52 win over 16th-seeded Northern Kentucky on Thursday. Houston's chief facilitator Jamal Shead also struggled with a sore knee in the victory. Both players began Friday's press conference by telling reporters they were "100 percent" going to play Saturday. That doesn't mean they are 100 percent healthy. "It's always going to be a concern when you know you can reaggravate or reinjure, but, you know, it's win or go home," Sasser said. "Tomorrow is not promised. The next game is not promised." Sasser said he planted too hard during a jump shot to reinjure the groin.
03-17-23 | Fairleigh Dickinson v. Purdue -23 | Top | 63-58 | Loss | -110 | 2 h 24 m | Show |
Even a No. 1 seed can find areas of improvement as the NCAA Tournament begins. Such is the case with top-seeded Purdue as it prepares to play No. 16 Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday in an East Region first-round game at Columbus, Ohio. Fairleigh Dickinson earned the matchup against the Boilermakers by virtue of their 84-61 win over Texas Southern on Wednesday in a First Four matchup at Dayton, Ohio. Purdue (29-5) enters the tournament having won five consecutive games and their 29 wins are the second-highest total in school history. Purdue won the Big Ten regular season crown by three games then held off Penn State 67-65 for the conference tournament title. Now the Boilermakers look for the trifecta with a run to a first-ever national championship. This is the fourth time Purdue has earned a No. 1 seed and first since 1996. But Purdue coach Matt Painter would like to see his team handle the ball better, a problem that cropped up late in the Big Ten regular season. Purdue's only rough patch came in February when they lost three of four and four of six. In losses to Indiana and Northwestern they turned the ball over 16 times. In a win over Iowa, they committed 17. In three Big Ten tourney wins, they committed just 25 total.
03-16-23 | College of Charleston v. San Diego State OVER 141.5 | Top | 57-63 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 42 m | Show |
San Diego State was grateful to earn a No. 5 seed for the NCAA Tournament, but coach Brian Dutcher said that number won't matter when the Aztecs tip off against 12th-seeded Charleston on Thursday afternoon in Orlando, Fla. "You have to go play, and the better team will win on Thursday," Dutcher said. "We have to be prepared and we have to be the better team." San Diego State (27-6) was the best team in the Mountain West Conference during the regular season and again during last week's conference tournament. The Aztecs won the MWC by two games over Utah State, and then beat the Aggies 62-57 to win the tournament title on Saturday in Las Vegas.
03-15-23 | Arizona State -2 v. Nevada | Top | 98-73 | Win | 100 | 10 h 37 m | Show |
A pair of No. 11 seeds led by high-profile coaches square off when Nevada takes on Arizona State in a First Four play-in game Wednesday at Dayton, Ohio. The winner will advance to play No. 6 seed TCU on Friday in Denver in a West Regional first-round game. The storylines will be rich in this showdown as Arizona State (22-12) has benefitted greatly from two Nevada transfers who left Steve Alford's program after the 2021-22 season and are now playing for Arizona State head coach Bobby Hurley. Desmond Cambridge Jr. is a point guard for the Sun Devils and 7-footer Warren Washington is a force near the basket.

03-10-23 | Maryland v. Indiana -2 | Top | 60-70 | Win | 100 | 10 h 11 m | Show |
No. 19-ranked Indiana has a decorated past and checks all the boxes as a college basketball blueblood. But the Hoosiers, for all their success, have never won the Big Ten tournament. Since 1998, when the event kicked off, Indiana has reached the final only once, losing to Iowa in 2001. Is this finally the year? The quest for third-seeded Indiana (21-10) will begin Friday night in Chicago with a quarterfinal game against sixth-seeded Maryland (21-11). The Hoosiers put themselves in a strong position by earning a prized double bye, which came by virtue of a 75-73 overtime win Sunday against visiting Michigan. In his final game at Assembly Hall, Trayce Jackson-Davis had 27 points, nine rebounds and six assists. The Hoosiers rallied from a 12-point, second-half deficit and got to overtime on a 3-pointer by Big Ten Freshman of the Year Jalen Hood-Schifino with 59 seconds left. The win completed an inconsistent end of the season for the Hoosiers, who beat regular-season champion Purdue twice in February but also lost at Northwestern and Michigan State and fell by 22 points on Feb. 28 at home against Iowa.
03-08-23 | Oregon State +11 v. Arizona State | Top | 57-63 | Win | 100 | 12 h 34 m | Show |
Arizona State's hopes for an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament took a hit with two losses last week, but coach Bobby Hurley remains confident in his squad. The sixth-seeded Sun Devils aim for a fresh start on Wednesday when they face No. 11 seed Oregon State in the first round of the Pac-12 tournament in Las Vegas. Arizona State (20-11, 11-9 Pac-12) closed the regular season with three road games, beating then-No. 7 Arizona before falling to then-No. 4 UCLA and USC. "I'm happy with my team," Hurley said. "I am very proud of our team. We're now 20-11; we had a very tough finish to the regular season. Take any NCAA team and ask them to go to Arizona, UCLA and USC with their last three games and see what their record is. So I'm happy for my guys." Oregon State (11-20, 5-15) lost both meetings against the Sun Devils this season. Arizona State won 74-69 in Corvallis, Ore., on Jan. 14 before pulling away late in a 68-57 victory on Feb. 2. "Oregon State has played us well both games," Hurley said. "They have young players. I'm sure they'll play freely with nothing to lose." The Beavers snapped a four-game losing streak with a 69-66 win over Cal on Saturday. Sophomore guard Glenn Taylor Jr. scored a career-high 28 points in the victory.

Penn State looks to keep its momentum going Thursday night when the Nittany Lions visit Ohio State for a Big Ten matchup in Columbus, Ohio. The Nittany Lions (16-11, 7-9) have won back-to-back games, led by reigning national and Big Ten Player of the Week Jalen Pickett's 73 points and 16 assists in the last two games. Pickett leads Penn State in scoring (18.6), rebounds (7.4) and assists (7.0) and is the only player in the country averaging at least 18 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Seth Lundy (14.4 points per game) and Andrew Funk (12.6) are also averaging double-digit points. The Nittany Lions are coming off a 76-69 win Saturday at Minnesota, their first road win since Dec. 10 at Illinois.

The penultimate week of the Big East season will feature a matchup of New England rivals on Wednesday night when No. 18 UConn plays host to No. 20 Providence in Storrs, Conn. Both teams are looking to build upon winning weekends, but the Friars (20-7, 12-4 Big East) have a three-game lead over the Huskies (20-7, 9-7) in the conference standings thanks in part to a 73-61 home victory on Jan. 4 in the teams' first meeting of the season. The Huskies, who were ranked fourth in the nation when they visited Providence, have played just once since losing Feb. 11 at then-No. 23 Creighton. They bounced back to beat visiting Seton Hall 64-55 on Saturday. UConn, which pulled away from the Pirates with a 14-0 run in the second half, got 20 points from Jordan Hawkins. Andre Jackson Jr. added a career-high 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

02-21-23 | Colorado State +11.5 v. San Diego State | Top | 58-77 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 20 m | Show |
San Diego State controls its destiny with two weeks left in the regular season, and the No. 22 Aztecs will try to maintain their slim lead in the Mountain West Conference standings Tuesday against visiting Colorado State. "That's the beauty of where we're at," Aztec coach Brian Dutcher said. "We don't need any help. Our fate is in our own hands. We have four games to go, and it's in our hands." San Diego State (21-5, 12-2 Mountain West) has won four in a row to take a one-game-game lead over Boise State and move two games up on Nevada. "We're in the position we need to be in," Dutcher said. "We don't need help. We just have to take care of our own business to hang a banner." The Aztecs split their two meetings with Nevada this season and have one game remaining against Boise State after beating the Broncos by 20 points on Feb. 3. Dutcher said there won't be any scoreboard-watching in the coaches' office.

02-18-23 | Colorado +13 v. Arizona | Top | 68-78 | Win | 100 | 9 h 18 m | Show |
No. 8 Arizona will try to get All-America candidate Azuolas Tubelis back on track when it hosts Colorado on Saturday in Tucson, Ariz., for the only scheduled meeting of the season between the Pac-12 foes. Tubelis had been a model of excellence and consistency until the last two games, which started with a loss at Stanford. He had his worst game, with four points and no rebounds while playing only 17 minutes due to foul trouble. His first half Thursday night against Utah was also something of a disaster. Tubelis picked up two personal fouls on the same play about five minutes into the game. He committed a foul on a push-off near midcourt in a loose-ball situation, and then compounded the problem by kicking the ball into the stands as it was rolling toward the baseline. Officials assessed a Class A technical foul (also a personal), and coach Tommy Lloyd sat Tubelis for the rest of the half.
02-17-23 | New Mexico +1.5 v. San Jose State | Top | 96-68 | Win | 100 | 13 h 37 m | Show |
Offensive production has been hard to come by for San Jose State this season, as they are currently ranked 399th in college basketball at 64.3 points per game. A significant reason for low-scoring totals is that they have played at a below-average pace, and have struggled to knock down outside shots. The Spartans’ 3-point shooting percentage sits at just 35.2% as a team, placing them 169th in the NCAA.

It's been almost a month since St. John's won back-to-back contests. Meanwhile, DePaul would settle for just one victory at the moment. The Red Storm will look to build on their latest victory over a ranked opponent and snap a three-game road losing streak when they travel to Chicago on Tuesday night for a meeting with the Blue Demons, who have lost six straight. St. John's (15-11, 5-10 Big East) held then-No. 20 Providence to 33.3-percent shooting to end a three-game skid with Saturday's 73-68 home victory. Though it was the second time this season the Red Storm beat a ranked opponent, they're 2-5 since winning consecutive games on Jan. 10 and 15.

The Over is 6-2 in Hawks' last 8 games following an ATS win and 5-1 in Seawolves' last 6 games following a straight-up loss. The number is right around what I thought it would be, but still, 3-5 points off, providing some early value.
02-07-23 | South Carolina v. Missouri UNDER 147 | Top | 74-83 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 2 m | Show |
Missouri will try to reestablish its perimeter shooting touch and brisk offensive pace when it faces struggling South Carolina on Tuesday in Columbia, Mo. The Tigers (17-6, 5-5 Southeastern Conference) shot 16-for-30, 14-for-30 and 13-for-27 from 3-point range during their three-game winning streak. Then they shot just 6-for-23 (26.1 percent) from beyond the arc at Mississippi State on Saturday -- including 1-for-11 in the first half. The result was their lowest-scoring game of the season in a 63-52 loss. The Tigers were averaging 83.3 points coming into the game. "I don't look at it as shooting issues," Missouri coach Dennis Gates said. "I think it was a very physical game ... it should have been 30 free throws-plus for both teams tonight, without a doubt in my mind. "I thought there were situations that we should have gotten to the paint but we settled." After averaging 20.4 points in his previous five games, Missouri forward Kobe Brown scored just 10 points against the Bulldogs on 3-for-11 shooting overall and 0-for-5 from 3-point range.
02-07-23 | Ohio -4 v. Northern Illinois | Top | 82-76 | Win | 100 | 11 h 19 m | Show |
On offense, Ohio is scoring a rate similar to the NCAA average at 73.9 points per game. This figure has come despite struggling to knock down shots from outside. Through 23 games, they have only hit 34.0% of their 3-point field goal attempts. For the season, 45.53% of their shots have come from beyond the arc.
02-07-23 | Dayton v. VCU UNDER 130 | Top | 62-58 | Win | 100 | 11 h 1 m | Show |
Dayton has run across a rough stretch that started at home with a 63-62 loss to the Rams on Jan. 13 as 7-point favorites. In going 3-3 in the 6 games since the Flyers have been saddled with 3 against-the-spread (ATS) losses and 3 ATS margins in double digits. Virginia Commonwealth is a robust 8-1 since Jan. 7. The Rams have yielded just 61.3 points per game over that span. They will be looking to raise their overall home mark to 13-2 on Tuesday
02-07-23 | Ole Miss v. Georgia UNDER 138 | Top | 78-74 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 35 m | Show |
Georgia will look to beat visiting Ole Miss for the second time in about three weeks in Southeastern Conference play Tuesday night at Athens, Ga. The Bulldogs (14-9, 4-6) lost for the fifth time in their past six games with an 82-57 setback at Texas A&M on Saturday. Ole Miss (9-14, 1-9) extended its losing streak to five games with a 74-71 setback at Vanderbilt on Saturday. Georgia struggled mightily against the Aggies without its leading scorer, Terry Roberts (15 points per game), who was dealing with a concussion and didn't make the trip to College Station, Texas. Roberts will be a game-time decision on Tuesday, Georgia coach Mike White said. Georgia was dominated from the opening tip, as Texas A&M jumped to a 15-2 lead in less than six minutes before taking a 38-22 halftime advantage. The Aggies put the game away by going on a 10-3 run midway through the second half to take a 63-36 advantage with 10:51 to go. The Bulldogs were outrebounded 43-30.
02-07-23 | Rutgers v. Indiana UNDER 135.5 | Top | 60-66 | Win | 100 | 11 h 41 m | Show |
With wins in six of its past seven games, including Saturday over No. 1 Purdue, Indiana finally is looking like the team some thought in October would win the Big Ten Conference this season. The 18th-ranked Hoosiers will try to keep their run going Tuesday night at home in Bloomington when they try to solve the sticky defense of No. 24 Rutgers in another Big Ten matchup. Everyone knew Indiana (16-7, 7-5) had one of the best players in the nation in Trayce Jackson-Davis. During this surge, he played at a national Player of the Year level, averaging 24.3 points, 13.4 rebounds, and 3.9 blocked shots per game. In the 79-74 triumph over Purdue, Jackson-Davis had 25 points, seven rebounds, and five blocks against 7-foot-4 Zach Edey. But Jackson-Davis' teammates are playing closer to his level lately. Freshman Jalen Hood-Schifino contributed 16 points and four assists against Purdue, while Trey Galloway netted 11 points and three steals. Jackson-Davis said the difference in this team from others he's played on is the physical aspect.

02-05-23 | DePaul v. Seton Hall UNDER 138.5 | Top | 64-69 | Win | 100 | 3 h 14 m | Show |
Seeing four players get called for their fourth foul within a span of 98 seconds was hardly an ideal scenario for Seton Hall. At least now there is a blueprint for navigating significant foul trouble, although the Pirates would like to avoid the same situation Sunday afternoon when they host DePaul in Newark, N.J. Seton Hall (14-9, 7-5 Big East) dropped its first three conference games to Providence, Xavier and Marquette but has won seven of nine since to climb into the top half of the league standings. Of all those victories, Wednesday's 84-72 comeback win at St. John's might have been the most impressive. Not only did the Pirates erase a 13-point deficit in the first half and a seven-point deficit midway through the second, they withstood K.C. Ndefo, Femi Odukale, Tyrese Samuel and key reserve Tae Davis getting whistled for their fourth fouls along with Dre Davis sitting out due to a sprained right ankle. After Samuel got his fourth with 11:57 remaining, the Pirates faced a 53-46 deficit. They adjusted to the foul trouble by deploying a zone defense and outscoring St. John's 38-19 the rest of the way, highlighted by Al-Amir Dawes hitting three 3-pointers and scoring 18 of his 21 points after halftime.

The Wave’s lowest score of the season has been 60 vs. Houston and the highest is 97 at SMU. Tulane is second in the country in free throw percentage shooting 80.9 percent from the charity stripe. Jalen Cook leads the team and the AAC shooting at 90.5 percent.

No. 24 UConn will be searching for consistency and a season sweep in Saturday's Big East Conference road game against last-place Georgetown in Washington, D.C. Throughout their nonconference schedule and the infant stages of league play, the Huskies (17-6, 6-6) relied on a blend of efficient scoring and formidable defense to start 14-0 and climb as high as No. 2 in the rankings. UConn averaged 82.9 points per game over its undefeated run and allowed more than 70 points just once in that span -- an 84-73 home win against the Hoyas (6-17, 1-11) on Dec. 20. But the crisp performances that vaulted the Huskies to their highest Top 25 ranking since 2009 have been scarce for the past month and UConn hasn't won consecutive games since late December. The Huskies have won two of their past three, most recently a 90-76 triumph at DePaul on Tuesday. Jordan Hawkins (26 points), Adama Sanogo (25) and Tristen Newton (21) spearheaded a UConn attack that bullied the Blue Demons for 42 points in the paint and a 38-25 rebounding edge.

01-28-23 | Auburn +4 v. West Virginia | Top | 77-80 | Win | 100 | 3 h 7 m | Show |
No. 15 Auburn will aim to bounce back from its largest setback of the season when it visits West Virginia on Saturday in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge at Morgantown, W.Va. The Tigers (16-4) had a 28-game home unbeaten streak end when they fell 79-63 to Texas A&M on Wednesday. Auburn coach Bruce Pearl wants to avoid a second consecutive loss, but the Mountaineers (12-8) are better than their record in his eyes. "You look at West Virginia and you look at Texas A&M and you see a lot of similarities -- tough, physical, hard-nosed," Pearl said. The Tigers dug a 15-point halftime deficit against the Aggies and couldn't recover. Meanwhile, West Virginia produced a solid 76-61 road victory over Texas Tech on Wednesday. Pearl knows the Mountaineers will be a tough foe with Hall of Fame coach Bob Huggins known as a master of preparation.

01-20-23 | Villanova +4 v. St. John's | Top | 57-49 | Win | 100 | 9 h 35 m | Show |
Two weeks ago, St. John's was encouraged by its performance in a close loss at Providence, and now the Red Storm are feeling even more positive about recent results. Coming off a double-digit win at No. 15 UConn, the Red Storm seek a third straight victory Friday night when they host Villanova at Madison Square Garden. Starting with a 78-63 defeat at Villanova on Dec. 21, the Red Storm (13-6, 3-5 Big East) lost five straight, falling to Xavier, Seton Hall, Marquette and Providence. In the 83-80 setback to the Friars, St. John's rallied to tie twice in the second half after facing an eight-point deficit and coach Mike Anderson liked the energy. Anderson had plenty to enjoy in the subsequent two games, a 16-point home win over Butler on Jan. 10 and Sunday's 85-74 win against the Huskies in Hartford, Conn. On Sunday, the Red Storm outscored UConn 47-36 in the second half, shot 51.7 percent for the game, allowed 41.8 percent shooting and forced 21 turnovers. As usual, St. John's received a big game from NCAA double-doubles leader Joel Soriano, who collected 19 points and 13 rebounds for his 16th double-double.

01-17-23 | Houston v. Tulane +11 | Top | 80-60 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 45 m | Show |
No. 1 Houston welcomed a weekend off in the middle of the season. The short-handed Cougars defeated visiting South Florida 83-77 on Wednesday, their third game in seven days. Then they had five days without a game but will be back in action on Tuesday night when they meet with Tulane in New Orleans. "We got a little break here, so hopefully we can get some bodies back, get healthy, heal the wounded, feed the sick and do all that stuff and move on to the next one," Houston coach Kelvin Sampson said. "This has been a tough stretch. ... We've got so many guys out." The Cougars (17-1, 5-0 American Athletic Conference) played without second-leading scorer Jarace Walker (10.4 points per game) and key reserve Ramon Walker Jr. (15.1 minutes per game) against South Florida because of a variety of ailments. Sampson is hoping the Cougars are at full strength or close to it against Tulane. Leading scorer Marcus Sasser led the way against the Bulls by scoring a career-high 31 points, and fellow guard Jamal Shead added 20. The Cougars allowed a season-high in points to USF and trailed 53-48 with 13:40 left before going on a 20-4 run to take control.
01-16-23 | Syracuse v. Miami-FL OVER 149.5 | Top | 78-82 | Win | 100 | 7 h 28 m | Show |
At age 78 and in his 47th season of coaching Syracuse, Jim Boeheim doesn't have time for anything less than brutal honesty. Asked recently about starting forward Benny Williams, Boeheim was blunt. "He's been focused on shooting jump shots, and he's not a good enough shooter to shoot a lot of jump shots," Boeheim said. "I don't know how he's feeling. Go ask him. I'm sure he's not happy. Nobody's happy when you don't play well." Williams will be one of the keys for the Orange (12-6, 5-2) when they visit No. 16 Miami (14-3, 5-2) in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup on Monday night. Some key trends for Monday's game favor the Hurricanes, who have a 10-0 home record. Syracuse has a 2-2 road record, and the Orange have lost two straight games to Miami. However, Syracuse is 9-2 in its past 11 games overall. The Orange had four scorers in double figures on Saturday in a 78-73 win over Notre Dame. Meanwhile, the Hurricanes have their own legendary coach -- 73-year-old Jim Larranaga, who took Miami to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight last year, the deepest advance in program history. Miami this season is led by four double-digit scorers: Isaiah Wong (17.2 ppg), Jordan Miller (14.9), Norchad Omier (13.9) and Nijel Pack (11.4).
01-15-23 | Memphis v. Temple +6 | Top | 61-59 | Win | 100 | 4 h 26 m | Show |
Temple will be counting on another strong performance from the team’s leading scorer Khalif Battle who is averaging 18.06 points per game for the Owls. Battle is also important to the team’s ability to score on the perimeter. So far, he leads the team in 3-point shots made. Also key to the Owls’ offensive game plan is the play of Damian Dunn who has hit 45.2% of his field goal attempts on his way to averaging 14.35 points per game.
01-15-23 | Siena -4.5 v. Canisius | Top | 62-66 | Loss | -110 | 2 h 45 m | Show |
Canisius has not shot well collectively, shooting an awful 40% overall, one of the lowest percentages in the country. Senior guard and leading scorer Jordan Henderson (13.5 PPG) is questionable for today's game, and considering he's missed the past three games with an upper-body injury, there's a good chance he'll sit out again. The Golden Griffins have been bad defensively, letting opponents shoot 47.3% from the field and 38.4% from downtown. They're only 2-4 at home, and will be in trouble today if they can't get consistent stops.
01-15-23 | Marquette v. Xavier OVER 162.5 | Top | 76-80 | Loss | -110 | 2 h 42 m | Show |
If the saying is true that defense wins championships and offense sells tickets, No. 12 Xavier and No. 25 Marquette should be expecting a sold-out crowd when they meet on Sunday in Cincinnati. The Musketeers (14-3, 6-0 Big East) and Golden Eagles (14-4, 6-1) wield the two highest-scoring offenses in the Big East, and neither team has shown any signs of slowing down. Xavier is averaging a conference-best 84.4 points per game and is coming off its 10th consecutive victory after downing Creighton 90-87 on Wednesday. The Bluejays pulled within one with two seconds remaining when Trey Alexander hit a 3-pointer, but Souley Boum converted a pair of free throws shortly after to seal the win. Boum led all scorers with 26 points, Colby Jones supplied 20 and Jack Nunge chipped in 15 to go along with 12 rebounds as the Musketeers scored at least 80 points for the fourth straight game. Jones attributes Xavier's recent success to first-year head coach Sean Miller, who came to the Musketeers after 12 seasons at Arizona.
01-14-23 | Boise State v. Wyoming OVER 132.5 | Top | 85-68 | Win | 100 | 8 h 52 m | Show |
Wyoming is scoring a rate similar to the NCAA average at 73.0 points per game. This figure has come despite struggling to knock down shots from outside. Through 16 games, they have only hit 34.3% of their 3-point field goal attempts. For the season, 43.12% of their shots have come from beyond the arc.

01-14-23 | Air Force v. Fresno State OVER 123 | Top | 51-48 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 32 m | Show |
The Air Force Falcons have been playing well and were able to pick up an 85-74 overtime road victory against the Colorado State Rams. They dominated in the overtime period as they outscored Colorado State 20-9. They shot the ball extremely well as they were 31-of-61 (50.8 percent) overall, 7-of-19 (36.8 percent) from the three, and 19 free-throw attempts. Freshman guard Marcell McCreary led the team as in 37 minutes he finished with 26 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two turnovers. Defensively, they need to continue what they are doing as they allowed 43.9 percent from the floor and 25 from deep here. Air Force did decently well as they finished with six steals and two blocks throughout the game.
01-14-23 | Colorado State v. UNLV OVER 144 | Top | 82-81 | Win | 100 | 5 h 26 m | Show |
The Rams are performing well this season, ranking 117th in the country with 75.1 points scored per game, shooting an impressive 49.4 percent from the field, and dishing out 18.1 assists per contest. They are 226th in the nation in points allowed on defense (70.5 per game). With 2.3 blocks and 6.6 steals per game so far, the Rams need to improve. It didn't help that the Rebels gave up 53 points in the second half after a humiliating 84-66 home loss to the Boise State Broncos. They shot the ball reasonably effectively, finishing the game shooting 43.5 percent overall, 31.6 percent from beyond the arc, and making 14 of their 18 free throw attempts.
01-14-23 | Notre Dame v. Syracuse OVER 140 | Top | 73-78 | Win | 100 | 5 h 8 m | Show |
Syracuse is coming off a notable performance. Notre Dame finally won an Atlantic Coast Conference game. One team will end up with consecutive victories when they meet Saturday night in Syracuse, N.Y. Syracuse (11-6, 4-2 ACC) has a chance to stay in the upper part of the league standings if it can pull off a season sweep of the Irish. Yet it hasn't been smooth for the Orange along the way. "We've got to get a lot better," coach Jim Boeheim said. "We're a long ways away." Notre Dame (9-8, 1-5) snapped a three-game losing streak by winning 73-72 in overtime earlier this week at home vs. Georgia Tech. 01-14-23 | Jackson State +4.5 v. Prairie View A&M | Top | 50-59 | Loss | -115 | 5 h 24 m | Show |
Offensive production has been hard to come by for Prairie View A&M this season, as they are currently ranked 252nd in college basketball at 69.5 points per game. A major reason for low-scoring totals is the fact that they have played at a below-average pace, and have struggled to knock down outside shots. As a team, the Panthers’ 3-point shooting percentage sits at just 34.7%, placing them 201st in the NCAA.

01-14-23 | Arkansas v. Vanderbilt +3.5 | Top | 84-97 | Win | 100 | 3 h 56 m | Show |
When they meet for the first time this season Saturday afternoon in Nashville, Tenn., No. 15 Arkansas and Vanderbilt need to turn their young Southeastern Conference campaigns around. For Arkansas (12-4, 1-3 SEC), a team that had high hopes, that need is immediate. After winning 12 of their first 14 games and getting mentioned in a group of early SEC favorites as a possible Final Four contender, the Razorbacks have lost their last two games against ranked opponents. The team's current stumbles can be traced back to a pair of unfortunate occurrences earlier in the season. Freshman sensation Nick Smith Jr. was sidelined early in the campaign with soreness in his right knee. That led to more missed games and an update from soreness to "right knee management." The ailment currently persists for the talented 6-foot-5 guard -- a five-star talent who can create his own shot and run the offense through him.

The Bulldogs (12-4, 2-1) are coming off a 58-50 win over Mississippi State on Wednesday, while the Rebels (8-8, 0-4) dropped their fifth straight game with an 82-73 loss at home to No. 21 Auburn on Tuesday. 01-12-23 | Stanford v. Washington OVER 135 | Top | 69-86 | Win | 100 | 9 h 54 m | Show |
Stanford and Washington look to turn around slow starts in conference play when they meet in a Pac-12 game Thursday night at Seattle. Each will take the court saddled with a losing streak, with the Cardinal (5-10, 0-5) having dropped three straight overall and all five conference games. The Huskies (9-8, 1-5) have lost five in a row overall and each of their last four Pac-12 contests. Stanford's slow start reached its low point Friday at California when the rival Golden Bears exploded for 92 points in a 22-point home win. Cal had struggled on offense all season. If there was a positive in the loss to Cal, it was that the Cardinal shot 50 percent from the field. Senior Spencer Jones, who had 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting, expects more of the same moving forward.
01-12-23 | San Francisco -1.5 v. Portland | Top | 87-92 | Loss | -116 | 9 h 57 m | Show |

01-12-23 | San Francisco v. Portland UNDER 148.5 | Top | 87-92 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 52 m | Show |
Portland is scoring a rate similar to the NCAA average at 73.9 points per game. This figure has come despite struggling to knock down shots from outside. Through 18 games, they have only hit 34.5% of their 3-point field goal attempts. For the season, 38.03% of their shots have come from beyond the arc.
01-12-23 | Utah v. UCLA UNDER 137 | Top | 49-68 | Win | 100 | 9 h 42 m | Show |
Seventh-ranked UCLA has not lost in seven-plus weeks but that does not mean coach Mick Cronin is happy. Cronin will be looking for an improved effort when the Bruins face Utah on Thursday night in Pac-12 play at Los Angeles. Though UCLA (14-2, 5-0 Pac-12) ran its winning streak to 11 with last Thursday's 60-58 home win over Southern California, it wasn't a pleasing performance from a coaching perspective. The Bruins shot just 22.7 percent (5 of 22) from the field in the second half while blowing an 18-point halftime lead. The Trojans moved ahead with 36 seconds left before Jaylen Clark saved the day with a go-ahead 3-pointer with 14.8 seconds left as UCLA escaped with the win. The Bruins finished at 34.5 percent from the field as Cronin saw the offensive prowess disappear under USC's relentless pressure defense after the strong first half.

Even with their preference to slow the game down, the Bison’s are scoring at a rate similar to the NCAA average at 74.8 points per game. So far, 37.33% of their shots have come from beyond the arc, where they have connected at a rate of 35.8%.

01-11-23 | Boise State v. UNLV OVER 136 | Top | 84-66 | Win | 100 | 9 h 11 m | Show |
UNLV was on the road in their last game beating 21st-ranked New Mexico 84-77 where they were down five points at the half but outscored the Lobos by 12 points in the second half. They were down by as much as 12 points in the game and shot 51.8% from the floor holding New Mexico to 43.3% shooting. Five players, including four starters, for the Rebels, scored in double digits with EJ Harkless leading the way with 25 points and Keshon Gilbert going for 14 points.
01-11-23 | High Point v. Charleston Southern +2 | Top | 69-106 | Win | 100 | 6 h 26 m | Show |
Offensive production has been hard to come by for High Point this season, as they are currently ranked 251st in college basketball at 69.5 points per game. A major reason for low-scoring totals is the fact that they have played at a below-average pace, and have struggled to knock down outside shots. As a team, the Panthers’ 3-point shooting percentage sits at just 33.5%, placing them 283rd in the NCAA.
01-11-23 | Alabama v. Arkansas UNDER 153.5 | Top | 84-69 | Win | 100 | 6 h 18 m | Show |
Alabama is on a four-game winning streak since a 100-90 loss to Gonzaga on Dec. 17. The Crimson Tide's only other loss was to former No. 2 UConn, 82-67 on Nov. 25. Miller leads Alabama with 19.1 points per game and 8.5 rebounds, while Sears scores 14.7 points. The start of SEC play has not been as kind to Arkansas (12-3, 1-2). The Razorbacks were ranked No. 9 when they opened conference play with a 60-57 loss at LSU on Dec. 28. Arkansas dropped to No. 13 last week and split two games, getting a home win 74-68 over No. 20 Missouri on Wednesday and losing 72-59 at No. 22 Auburn on Saturday. Anthony Black scored 23 for the Razorbacks on Saturday, while Ricky Council IV had 14. Council leads four double-digit scorers with 18.1 points per game. Arkansas is expected to lean into its defense, which is 15th in the nation with 9.8 steals per game but had just four against Auburn. The Razorbacks outrebounded the Tigers on Saturday 45-32, with Jordan Walsh grabbing a career-high 10 boards.
01-11-23 | La Salle v. Massachusetts OVER 146.5 | Top | 78-77 | Win | 100 | 6 h 12 m | Show |

01-11-23 | Monmouth v. Hofstra -18.5 | Top | 57-77 | Win | 100 | 6 h 6 m | Show |
The Monmouth Hawks had a terrible game offensively last time out as they were only able to score 35 points on 13-of-48 (27.1 percent) from the floor and 2-of-12 (16.7 percent) from beyond the arc. I'm not backing that stat line with my money tonight.
01-11-23 | Lafayette v. Navy OVER 127.5 | Top | 59-50 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 47 m | Show |
Over is 17-4 in Midshipmen's last 21 overall and 9-0 in Midshipmen's last 9 games following an ATS loss.
01-10-23 | Auburn v. Ole Miss UNDER 133.5 | Top | 82-73 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 51 m | Show |
No. 21 Auburn hopes to take the mojo it has at home on the road when the Tigers visit Ole Miss for a Southeastern Conference game Tuesday night in Oxford, Miss. Auburn (12-3, 2-1) stretched its home winning streak to 27 games with a 72-59 win over then-No. 13 Arkansas on Saturday, but are only 1-2 on opponents' courts this season. After taking on the Rebels (8-7, 0-3), the Tigers will be back on the road at LSU on Jan. 18, with a weekend home game against Mississippi State sandwiched in between. The win over the Razorbacks followed a disappointing performance by the Tigers in a 76-64 mid-week loss at Georgia. Wendell Green Jr. led Auburn with 19 points, and Little Rock native Allen Flanigan added 18. Green's effort was a bounce-back performance after he scored only seven points on 2-of-12 shooting at Georgia. He was 5 of 8 from the field against Arkansas, including 2 of 4 from 3-point range. He also handed out five assists. |
