11-27-22 | Bears +6 v. Jets | Top | 10-31 | Loss | -110 | 24 h 17 m | Show |
Mike White's phone rang Tuesday and it was Robert Saleh delivering some big news. The New York Jets coach was making a change at quarterback with Zach Wilson out and White tapped to start Sunday at home against the Chicago Bears. "It lasted all of 30 seconds," Saleh said of the conversation. "I said, `Hi, Mike, how are you doing?' He said, `Good.' I said, `You ready to roll, man?' He said, `Yep,' and I said, `All right, I'll see ya tomorrow.'" And just like that, the biggest decision so far of the playoff-hungry Jets' season was sealed. "Initially, just excited," White said of his reaction. "It's just what every player in this locker room wants is a chance to compete and prove themselves. But more importantly, it's just a chance to be a good teammate and help the team and worry about the team first." The Jets' decision to bench the underachieving Wilson was framed by Saleh as a mental and physical "reset" for the second-year quarterback. New York is also in the thick of the AFC playoff hunt at 6-4, and would be in the postseason right now after New England's loss Thursday night to Minnesota. So this game against the Bears (3-8), who have lost four straight and six of seven, could serve as an opportunity for the Jets to get right after a 10-3 loss at New England last Sunday. But it won't be the spicy quarterback matchup most were expecting when the schedule was announced in May with Wilson, the No. 2 pick last year, taking on the Bears' Justin Fields, who went nine selections later.
11-27-22 | Bengals v. Titans UNDER 43 | Top | 20-16 | Win | 100 | 3 h 48 m | Show |
Revenge is not on the menu, at least not for the Titans even with Cincinnati visiting Music City for the first time since the Bengals ended Tennessee's run as the AFC's No. 1 seed last January. Oh, Tennessee fans might revel in the opportunity for a little payback for the Super Bowl berth they wanted so badly. With so much roster changeover, these Titans insist this season's playoff chase has their attention Sunday - not their divisional loss. "More than half of our team did not even play in that game," Titans coach Mike Vrabel said of a roster that has played 25 different players on defense alone this season. These teams have more in common than that playoff game with both starting this season 0-2 before rebounding. Tennessee (7-3) has won seven of eight, including a 27-17 win at Green Bay on Nov. 17, giving the banged-up Titans a much-needed long weekend off. Cincinnati (6-4) has won four of five, including a 37-30 win at Pittsburgh last weekend for the defending AFC North champs' first division win this season. The Titans sit atop the AFC South with a nice lead, chasing their third straight division title. They rallied with Derrick Henry leading the NFL in rushing again and a defense that has been among the league's stingiest since being blown out in Week 2 in Buffalo.
11-24-22 | Patriots v. Vikings OVER 42 | Top | 26-33 | Win | 100 | 10 h 44 m | Show |
Minnesota suffered its worst defeat since 2011 with a 40-3 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday. The Vikings have never won a playoff game in the same season that they lost a game by at least 35 points (six previous seasons).
11-24-22 | Patriots v. Vikings -2.5 | Top | 26-33 | Win | 100 | 10 h 41 m | Show |
The first regular-season game Kevin O'Connell participated in during his fleeting NFL playing career came in late-game relief for New England in a rare lopsided loss. The Patriots had a bye the following week, and sure enough coach Bill Belichick had them ready for a bounce-back victory. Even after Tom Brady was lost for the year with a knee injury in the opener, the Patriots finished that 2008 season with an 11-5 record. The response to the Week 3 blowout was methodical, not maniacal. The message was about controlling what was in their control and simply letting the rest of it go. "That sticks with me to this very day, just as an example of what it's like to coach in those moments where adversity hits and how you need to be at your best for your team," O'Connell said. The first-year Minnesota Vikings coach has found himself in that very situation this week, following a 40-3 loss to Dallas. The Vikings (8-2) host the Patriots (6-4), still coached by Belichick all these years later, on Thursday night with only four days to regroup. O'Connell, fittingly, will experience one of the biggest tests of his mettle as the boss against a coach who significantly influenced his know-how and perspective.
11-24-22 | Giants v. Cowboys UNDER 45.5 | Top | 20-28 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 8 m | Show |
Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys channeled the anger from a collapse one week into the biggest road rout in club history the next. Now they're thinking about building on all the things that went right while the opponent tries to figure out what went wrong. The New York Giants visit the Cowboys on Thanksgiving with the NFC East rivals sharing 7-3 records, two games behind division-leading Philadelphia. Not much else is similar for this pair of playoff contenders, the Cowboys are healthy and appearing primed to get on a roll, the Giants sputtering and dealing with injuries. Dallas blew a 14-point lead entering the fourth quarter for the first time in franchise history in an overtime loss at Green Bay before one of its most dominant performances in a long time in a 40-3 victory at Minnesota. Prescott is finding a rhythm after missing five games with a fractured thumb on his throwing hand, surrounded by a mostly healthy roster with plenty of playmakers on defense, too.
11-24-22 | Giants +10.5 v. Cowboys | Top | 20-28 | Win | 100 | 6 h 3 m | Show |
The Giants just gave up season highs in points and turnovers (three) in a 31-18 loss to Detroit that dropped them into a tie with the Cowboys. Since Dallas won 23-16 at New York in Week 3, the Giants would essentially fall two games behind the defending NFC East champions with another loss to them. This is where the short week could come in handy for New York. It's just the second Thanksgiving meeting out of 122 overall in the storied rivalry. "I think it makes it easier because we have no choice, but to quickly move on to the next opponent," Giants defensive end Leonard Williams said. "Regardless of win or lose, every week we talk about flushing the last game and moving on to the next one." New York quarterback Daniel Jones has four rushing touchdowns, more than in any of his first three seasons. He probably doesn't want to be reminded of one he didn't get last season.
11-24-22 | Bills v. Lions +9.5 | Top | 28-25 | Win | 100 | 2 h 48 m | Show |
The Buffalo Bills are back in Detroit and this time, they're facing the suddenly surging Lions on Thanksgiving. The NFL shifted Buffalo's previous home game against Cleveland to Ford Field after a winter storm dumped several feet of snow across the Buffalo area. The Bills dug out of their snow-packed home and some needed help from team employees, neighbors and strangers to get out of town before beating the Browns to end a two-game losing streak. Buffalo (7-3) is tied with Miami atop the AFC East and needs another win to keep pace with the Dolphins while holding off New England and the New York Jets, teams in the division that are only one game back. "These short weeks are pretty tough in terms of scheduling and guys trying to get their bodies right to play, but it's tough for them as well," quarterback Josh Allen said. Detroit (4-6) has won three games in a row for the first time in five years and the last such stretch of success was snapped on Thanksgiving, starting a five-game losing streak on the holiday.
11-21-22 | 49ers v. Cardinals +8.5 | 38-10 | Loss | -110 | 33 h 41 m | Show
In the mediocre NFC West, the San Francisco 49ers look like a team ready to make a charge up the standings. As for the Arizona Cardinals? Well, at least there's still hope. The 49ers and Cardinals meet in Mexico City on Monday night in a showdown between division rivals. It's also a rematch of the first regular-season NFL game played in another country: The Cardinals beat the 49ers 31-14 at Estadio Azteca in 2005 in front of more than 100,000 fans. San Francisco (5-4) is trying for its third straight win and has one of the best defenses in the league. The offense isn't quite as impressive, though it's stabilized under veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and recently acquired running back Christian McCaffery, who the Niners added a few weeks ago in a trade with the Panthers. The Cardinals (4-6) got a badly needed 27-17 win over the Rams last weekend with backup quarterback Colt McCoy under center. Starter Kyler Murray missed the game because of a sore hamstring. Murray hopes to be available Monday for a game that's crucial for staying in the playoff race. Look for Murray to give the Cardinals boost
11-21-22 | 49ers v. Cardinals UNDER 43.5 | 38-10 | Loss | -110 | 33 h 39 m | Show

11-20-22 | Chiefs v. Chargers UNDER 52 | 30-27 | Loss | -107 | 28 h 1 m | Show
Fans usually expect a passing duel when Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs face Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers. That might not be the case on Sunday night, with both teams unsure of who will line up at wide receiver. The Chiefs (7-2) won't have Mecole Hardman and likely will be missing JuJu Smith-Schuster for the prime-time showdown. Hardman was placed on injured reserve Thursday with an abdominal injury. Smith-Schuster remains in concussion protocol after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit in last week's win over Jacksonville. Fellow receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling has been dealing with an illness. The Chargers (5-4) can empathize. Keenan Allen has played in only two games due to a nagging left hamstring strain, and Mike Williams was out the last two weeks with a high right ankle sprain. Allen and Williams returned to practice this week, but both have taken part only in individual drills and are questionable. Smith-Schuster, Hardman and Valdes-Scantling have 97 of the Chiefs' 245 receptions. If they can't play, Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore and Justin Watson can expect bigger roles. Toney, acquired from the New York Giants on Oct. 30, had four receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown last Sunday against the Jaguars.
11-20-22 | Cowboys -1 v. Vikings | 40-3 | Win | 100 | 24 h 22 m | Show
The last six regular-season games between the Cowboys and Vikings have all been decided by four points or fewer, the longest streak between any two NFL teams since the Ravens and Steelers had a six-game streak from 2008-10. The last teams to do so in seven straight meetings were Carolina and Washington from 1998-2009 (7).
11-20-22 | Lions +3 v. Giants | 31-18 | Win | 100 | 22 h 42 m | Show
The Detroit Lions and New York Giants have been hanging out in the same neighborhood of the NFL for the past seven years, at least in terms of the standings. Neither team has made the playoffs since 2016. The Giants were 4-13 last season, while the Lions were 3-13-1. When the teams meet on Sunday at MetLife Stadium, fans are going to notice a difference. The Giants are 7-2 under first-year coach Brian Daboll and closing in on the playoffs. The Lions are a deceptive 3-6 under second-year coach Dan Campbell. Both teams are making progress. The Giants have done more, but the Lions are not that far off. They have won two in a row, and four of their losses have been by four points or less. "They are at a point right now where they haven't been able to win the close games and we've been able to," Giants safety Julian Love said. "We know that this team is a good team and we can't take them for granted on what their record is because they are a tougher team than what their record shows." The Giants simply find ways to win. Five of their seven victories have been by six points or fewer and the other two were by eight-point margins. Campbell is confident the Lions are on the right track.
11-20-22 | Jets +3.5 v. Patriots | 3-10 | Loss | -110 | 21 h 53 m | Show
Jets center Connor McGovern has played only three seasons in New York. But he's spent his entire career in the AFC, more than long enough to know what it has taken for teams to succeed in the conference over the past two-plus decades. "I think everybody in the AFC sees the Patriots as a team they have to go through, whether they have Tom Brady back there or Mac Jones or whoever is on their roster," McGovern said. "No matter who's on their roster, they're a tough team to beat." New York found that out last month when it had its four-game win streak snapped in a 22-17 loss at home by what at the time was a sub-.500 Patriots team. Three weeks later, the Jets (6-3) are still one of the NFL's hottest teams as they prepare for their second shot against the Patriots (5-4), who are above .500 for the first time this season. And for the first time in a long time, the outcome of Sunday's rematch carries serious playoff implications for both sides. New York is a half-game behind idle first-place Miami in the AFC East and would move into first with a victory over the Patriots. The Jets haven't been in that position 10 or more games into a season since 2010, when New England and New York were tied at 9-2.
11-20-22 | Bears +3 v. Falcons | Top | 24-27 | Push | 0 | 22 h 5 m | Show |
Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears are learning how to score in the quarterback's second season. Learning to win has been the more difficult lesson. Fields will be in the spotlight for his Georgia homecoming as the Bears and Atlanta Falcons match strong running games - and deflating losing streaks - on Sunday. Fields, a native of the Atlanta suburb of Kennesaw, began his college career at Georgia before transferring to Ohio State. Fields' family had Falcons season tickets. He said his favorite Atlanta players were quarterback Matt Ryan and wide receiver Julio Jones. Fields didn't know how many of his friends and family members will attend the game. "I know my regular people are going - my mom, my dad," Fields said. "But of course, it's exciting, for sure. My goal really is just to go 1-0 this week and win the game down there." Fields, a 2021 first-round pick, has solidified his status as the Bears' franchise quarterback by leading the NFL's top rushing offense. He returns to Atlanta after rushing for a combined 325 yards the last two weeks, the highest two-game total by an NFL quarterback, surpassing the 268 two-game total by Baltimore's Lamar Jackson in 2019. Fields ran for 178 yards against Miami two weeks ago and added 147 in last week's 31-30 loss to Detroit. He will be the top priority for Atlanta's defense.
11-17-22 | Titans v. Packers UNDER 41 | Top | 27-17 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 52 m | Show |
Aaron Rodgers appreciates the way the Tennessee Titans have turned their season around. The reigning MVP quarterback hopes his Green Bay Packers can dig themselves out of an even bigger hole than Tennessee. First, the Packers must find a way to cool off those AFC South-leading Titans at Lambeau Field on Thursday night. "They lost their first two games, and I think just like happens in this league, there's probably overreactions and what the hell's going on and what are we going to do," Rodgers said. "And I think they rattled off like five or six wins in a row and kind of quieted everybody up." The Titans (6-3) bounced back from that 0-2 start by winning six of their next seven, including five in a row. Derrick Henry has rushed for 923 yards, 8 behind NFL leader Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants. Green Bay (4-6) had lost five straight - its longest skid since 2008 - before rallying from a 14-point, fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Dallas Cowboys 31-28 in overtime on Sunday.
11-14-22 | Commanders v. Eagles UNDER 43.5 | 32-21 | Loss | -110 | 34 h 26 m | Show
The World Series is over, and the Phillies had to settle for the NL pennant. The Union not only lost the MLS Cup final, but they also helped Philadelphia earn the dubious distinction of becoming the first city to lose two championships in one day. That leaves it to the Eagles to try to win the next championship for the city. And so far, coach Nick Sirianni and quarterback Jalen Hurts have been a winning combination for the Eagles, who are 8-0 for the first time in franchise history and the lone undefeated team in the NFL. But first, come the NFC East rematches. The Eagles play the Washington Commanders (4-5) on Monday night for a second time and the first since they roughed up former quarterback Carson Wentz in a 24-8 rout in September. Wentz is on injured reserve following surgery to repair a broken finger, and the Commanders turned to Taylor Heinicke to take his spot. Be it, Heinicke or Wentz, the oddsmakers don't care - the Eagles are favored by 10 1/2 points, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
11-13-22 | Chargers v. 49ers UNDER 45.5 | Top | 16-22 | Win | 100 | 32 h 4 m | Show |
San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan has been known as one of the NFL's most creative play-callers. The midseason addition of Christian McCaffrey has only expanded the possibilities for the 49ers, who now feature two of the game's most versatile players in McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel. McCaffrey is a former All-Pro running back who has caught more passes than all but 12 wide receivers since he entered the NFL five years ago. Samuel is a former All-Pro receiver who has more TD runs of at least 10 yards than all but one running back in the past two years. "It's just like so crazy how much firepower we have in this offense now, adding him to the team along with all the other guys that we have on our team," Samuel said. "It's going to be crazy. It's going to be hard to cover everybody out there. It will be real fun." The first defense that will have to contend with the dynamic duo will be the struggling Los Angeles Chargers (5-3), who head into Sunday night's showdown with the 49ers (4-4) having allowed the third-most points in the NFL and a league-worst six runs of at least 40 yards.
11-13-22 | Cardinals v. Rams UNDER 40 | Top | 27-17 | Loss | -110 | 28 h 56 m | Show |
Aaron Donald and the Los Angeles Rams are only eight games removed from their Super Bowl victory. The Arizona Cardinals are just nine games removed from an 11-win season and a playoff appearance. Yet the stakes seem fairly high for these two struggling NFC West rivals in their second meeting of the new season, and it's because both realize they're running out of time to write a proper sequel to last year's successes. "We ain't got too much more room to keep losing now," said Donald, the Rams' seven-time All-Pro. "It's time to find a way to go on a run. Go week to week and just keep trying to stack up wins." The Rams (3-5) are two games under .500 for the first time in coach Sean McVay's career after losing four of their last five games. The Cardinals (3-6) have also lost four of five, and coach Kliff Kingsbury doesn't exactly have the same ironclad job security as McVay. After Los Angeles - which has won 11 of the last 12 meetings in this matchup - hosts Arizona at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, the loser will be in a formidable hole in last place in the division.
11-13-22 | Colts +4.5 v. Raiders | 25-20 | Win | 100 | 6 h 53 m | Show
The Las Vegas Raiders had no video or scouting reports this week to prepare for Indianapolis Colts interim coach Jeff Saturday. Until Monday, he was an ESPN analyst. The unorthodox move by the Colts to hire Saturday after firing Frank Reich has forced the Raiders - already down two key weapons with tight end Darren Waller and wide receiver Hunter Renfrow going on injured reserve Thursday - to head into Sunday's game in Las Vegas largely in the dark. "I would assume that they're going to let the coaches that have been there to coach," Raiders coach Josh McDaniels said. "And the scheme isn't going to dramatically change on offense, defense or in the kicking game. And we talked (Wednesday) morning, they're going to be ready to go because Jeff will have them ready to go." One of the coaches on the Colts' staff is defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, who served in the same role in Las Vegas last year, so there is some familiarity. But it works both ways because Bradley has insight on how to defend the Raiders' offense, though he noted the system and some of the personnel have changed. No matter who's in charge, both teams find themselves in similar positions.
11-13-22 | Lions v. Bears OVER 48.5 | Top | 31-30 | Win | 100 | 25 h 47 m | Show |
Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell started rattling off names when asked about Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields. It was an impressive list: Lamar Jackson, Deshaun Watson, and Jalen Hurts. Campbell sees a little bit of each of them in Fields, and he'll get an up-close look when the Lions visit the Bears on Sunday. "Quarterback-driven runs, guard-tackle pulls, read the end, hand it off, these backs are running hard, they're downhill," he said. "And then, there's enough of the keepers off of it. There's enough misdirection to the receivers. And then, certainly his ability on third down, that's where they really got Miami was man, there's a number of third-and-8, third-and-10 ... there's an opening in there and he takes it and he's gone." The Bears (3-6) come in with five losses in the past six games. But the big story is Fields' improvement.
11-13-22 | Texans v. Giants OVER 40.5 | Top | 16-24 | Loss | -110 | 25 h 40 m | Show |
After seeing the New York Giants get off to a great start under first-year coach Brian Daboll, Justin Ellis wanted to share some thoughts - and a warning - with his teammates. The 31-year-old defensive tackle is in his ninth NFL season and spent the last two-plus years with the Ravens and was part of their teams that went 14-2 and 11-5 and went to the playoffs. Known to his teammates as `Jelly,' he was also in Baltimore when they opened last season at 6-2 and finished 8-9, missing the postseason. It's something that's spot on as the Giants (6-2) come out of their bye week to face the Houston Texans (1-6-1) on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. Ellis said looking at the Texans' record and thinking it's going to be an easy game is a mistake. "You have to have the right mindset," Ellis said. "The one thing about the NFL is on any given Sunday, so you've got to come every Sunday. Every team has talent.
11-13-22 | Saints v. Steelers UNDER 40 | Top | 10-20 | Win | 100 | 25 h 34 m | Show |
Mike Tomlin is not ready to bail on 2022, even as the reality that at 2-6 the Pittsburgh Steelers have dug themselves a hole so deep it's difficult to imagine they dig out in time to be anything other than a spoiler down the stretch. Not that Tomlin wants to dwell on a first half that was Pittsburgh's worst since 2013. "The windshield component is the big picture for us as opposed to the rearview mirror," Tomlin said, later adding, "we can't worry about the things that are behind us. We'd better get focused on the things that are immediately in front of us." New Orleans isn't much better. The Saints are 3-6 heading into Sunday's visit to Pittsburgh after getting manhandled at home by Baltimore last Monday. Unlike the Steelers, however, New Orleans plays in the underwhelming NFC South and is very much in it in a division that entered mid-November without a team with a winning record.
11-13-22 | Browns v. Dolphins OVER 49 | Top | 17-39 | Win | 100 | 24 h 28 m | Show |
Mike McDaniel believes playing in tight games can lead to more wins late in the season. Being involved in close contests, as his Miami Dolphins have all season, could give a team a competitive edge if they're able to learn from them. "It kind of snowballs for teams where you can be in tight games consecutively," the first-year Dolphins coach said. "And you can find yourself with the same result until you get yourself out of it either way." The Dolphins have played in five games decided by a touchdown or less. They've won them all. On Sunday, Miami will host the Cleveland Browns, who have struggled to win close games. Despite having the NFL's fourth-ranked offense behind a dominant rushing attack, the Browns have lost four of the five games they've played that were decided by a field goal or less. Now, they're on the outside of the AFC playoff picture with nine games left. "For us, it really does go back to a one-game season," Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said. "One game, this one is important, the next one is going to be important and so on. For us, we totally understand where we are, but we have to focus on going 1-0 down against a very, very good football team on the road." The Browns have only been in three double-digit games. The most recent was their surprising 32-13 blowout of the Bengals.
11-07-22 | Ravens v. Saints UNDER 46.5 | Top | 27-13 | Win | 100 | 7 h 14 m | Show |
The New Orleans Saints' first season since former coach Sean Payton's retirement has been a struggle. Yet first-year coach Dennis Allen's chances of salvaging this campaign rose considerably last week with a dominant, shutout victory that harkened back to the Saints squads that made four straight playoff appearances from 2017 to 2020. "Now the goal is to try to duplicate that," Allen said as New Orleans (3-5) headed into a major Monday night test against the well-rested Baltimore Ravens (5-3), who are trying to maintain their hold on first place in the AFC North. Still two games below .500 - but just one game out of first in an NFC South that has been rife with mediocrity - the Saints have been cautious about making too much out of one exceptional performance. "It was good because that was on par with who we are and what we're capable of doing," Saints linebacker and defensive captain Demario Davis said. "But there's still more out there and we've got to get it." The Ravens helped the Saints in Week 8, knocking off Tampa Bay in a Thursday night game. They've since had extra days to come up with ways to attack New Orleans.
11-06-22 | Rams v. Bucs UNDER 42.5 | Top | 13-16 | Win | 100 | 6 h 31 m | Show |
When Tom Brady ended his brief retirement, citing "unfinished business" as motivation for continuing his record-breaking football career, losing to the Los Angeles Rams in last season's playoffs was still fresh on the Tampa Bay quarterback's mind. The last two Super Bowl winners meet Sunday for the fourth time in three seasons, but the 45-year-old Brady will be looking for a lot more than payback. The Buccaneers (3-5) have lost five of six following a 2-0 start. Brady has dropped three straight starts for the first time in two decades, and the seven-time NFL champion has been unable to beat the Rams since moving from New England to Tampa Bay in 2020. The Rams (3-4) are also below .500, searching for answers to turning around a slower-than-expected start after ending Tampa Bay's bid to repeat as Super Bowl champs last January and going on to win the Lombardi Trophy themselves.
11-06-22 | Chargers v. Falcons OVER 49 | Top | 20-17 | Loss | -110 | 2 h 14 m | Show |
The Atlanta Falcons have remained consistent in their commitment to running the ball without becoming predictable. Los Angeles Chargers coach Brandon Staley says that's why the surprising Falcons are leading the NFC South. "There is a reason why they are first in their division," Staley said. "They are number one in their division because they've put together a really good season on offense." The Falcons (4-4) will look to stay there when they play the Chargers (4-3), who are coming off a bye week, on Sunday. Atlanta remained competitive despite playing its last four games without top running back Cordarrelle Patterson, who had knee surgery. Patterson returned to practice on Wednesday and could come off injured reserve as soon as Sunday. Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota will face the Chargers' Justin Herbert in a matchup of Oregon alumni. The Falcons rank fifth in the league in rushing and 29th in passing. Even so, Mariota has thrown seven touchdown passes in the last four games.
11-06-22 | Bills v. Jets UNDER 46 | Top | 17-20 | Win | 100 | 2 h 11 m | Show |
Buffalo beat Green Bay on Sunday night, 27-17. The Bills have outscored their opponents by 105 points this season (203-98), which is the biggest differential in the NFL. The only other times the Bills have led the NFL in that category were 2021 (+194) and 1990 (+165)
11-06-22 | Colts v. Patriots UNDER 40.5 | Top | 3-26 | Win | 100 | 2 h 8 m | Show |
The Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots meet for the second straight year with their seasons at a crossroads. Last year, both were coming off bye-week breaks entering Week 15 when the Colts - 7-6 at the time - hosted a Patriots squad that was 9-4 and riding a seven-game winning streak. The Colts rallied behind a 170-yard rushing performance from Jonathan Taylor to pull out a 27-17 win. But Indy couldn't ride the ripples of that victory and dropped two of its final three games, missing the playoffs. The Patriots' loss started a stretch during which they lost three of four to end the regular season. They made the playoffs but were blown out in the wild-card round by Buffalo. The circumstances are a bit different entering Sunday's matchup - yet the outcome could again have a lasting impact on both teams' prospects.
11-03-22 | Eagles -13.5 v. Texans | 29-17 | Loss | -110 | 1 h 43 m | Show
Jalen Hurts was born in Houston and grew up about 25 miles from NRG Stadium. As a child he dreamed of playing at the stadium the Houston Texans call home. On Thursday night he'll finally get that chance when he leads the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles (7-0) against the lowly one-win Texans (1-5-1). "I never had the opportunity to go play in Reliant as a kid, now known as NRG," he said. "I spent a lot of time in the Houston Texans facility, my godfather being on staff as a child, and I have a lot of memories at that place, so it'll be exciting." Houston coach Lovie Smith knows Hurts will be amped up to play so close to home, but he isn't going to roll out the welcome wagon to meet the young star.
10-30-22 | Packers v. Bills UNDER 47 | 17-27 | Win | 100 | 8 h 52 m | Show
Bills safety Micah Hyde and receiver Jake Kumerow know Aaron Rodgers well enough to appreciate how much the Packers quarterback's words resonate in Green Bay. So when Rodgers defiantly insisted the Packers' playoff hopes, at 3-4, remain realistic despite a third consecutive loss and facing the formidable challenge of traveling to play the AFC-leading Bills (5-1) on Sunday night, the two former Green Bay players took serious note. "I've been around him before and I know that when his back is against the wall, he just rallies them," said Hyde, who rejoined the Bills this week in a quasi-coaching role after sustaining a season-ending neck injury last month. I'll believe it when I see it.
10-30-22 | 49ers v. Rams | 31-14 | Win | 100 | 4 h 31 m | Show
The Los Angeles Rams' rivalry with the 49ers has been thoroughly, shockingly one-sided in San Francisco's favor over the past several seasons. Well, except in the one meeting that mattered the most. But that NFC championship game victory by the Rams last January meant nothing when San Francisco routed LA yet again four weeks ago. It means even less this Sunday before the Rams' second meeting of the season - and fourth meeting of 2022 - with the 49ers, who have won a whopping seven consecutive regular-season games against Los Angeles. Even the Rams' only victory over the 49ers since 2018 was hardly convincing: San Francisco had to blow a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter, and Niners safety Jaquiski Tartt had to drop a surefire late interception while the Rams surged into the Super Bowl. With fresh optimism after their bye week, the Rams (3-3) are hoping this will be the week they finally break through in decisive fashion against the 49ers (3-4), who have lost two straight and have beaten only one team other than Los Angeles since Week 2.
10-30-22 | Commanders v. Colts UNDER 40 | 17-16 | Win | 100 | 3 h 27 m | Show
Sam Ehlinger spent his whole life preparing for this week. On Sunday, he'll finally be a feature attraction on the NFL's big stage. The 24-year-old quarterback, who spent more than 20 months as an understudy for the Indianapolis Colts, will make his first career start Sunday against the Washington Commanders. And like any young actor thrust into the spotlight, Ehlinger is eager, excited, and, yes, even anxious. "With every new opportunity there are new nerves, so navigating through those, trying to stay in the moment is going to be the challenge," he said. "I don't think it's weird. I think I always prepared in the way that I was ready for the moment and I'm really glad that I did because here we are." His rapid ascension up the depth chart, from No. 3 to Colts starter in less than two weeks, is only part of this week's surprising storyline.
10-30-22 | Patriots v. Jets UNDER 40 | 22-17 | Win | 100 | 1 h 34 m | Show
Look around the New York Jets' locker room to find someone who remembers what it was like to beat the New England Patriots - and you can't. There's no one left. The Jets have lost 12 straight to Bill Belichick's bunch, with their most recent win coming in Week 16 of the 2015 season. Todd Bowles was the coach of that 26-20 overtime victory at MetLife Stadium, led by quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker. Current Jets quarterback Zach Wilson was just a high school sophomore in Utah. Long snapper Thomas Hennessy, the Jets' longest-tenured player, was a junior at Duke. And head coach Robert Saleh was the linebackers coach in Jacksonville. Yep, it has been a while. On Sunday, the surprising Jets (5-2) have a chance to end that skid and create a new storyline when they host the last-place Patriots (3-4). A victory would be New York's fifth straight - which last happened, coincidentally, with that win over New England seven years ago.
10-23-22 | Falcons v. Bengals UNDER 48.5 | 17-35 | Loss | -110 | 1 h 44 m | Show
The Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons have both been surprising this season - for different reasons. The Bengals - last year's AFC champions - dropped their first two games and had to come from behind again to beat New Orleans last week to get to 3-3. The Falcons, despite low preseason expectations, improved to 3-3 with a win over the San Francisco 49ers and share the NFC South lead with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. One of the teams will move above .500 for the first time this season when they meet Sunday in Cincinnati. The Bengals have played from behind almost constantly, as was the case last week then they scored 10 points in the last 3:42 to rally past the Saints 30-26. The win, coupled with Baltimore's 24-20 loss to the New York Giants, moved the Bengals into a tie for first place in the AFC North.
10-23-22 | Bucs v. Panthers OVER 39 | 3-21 | Loss | -110 | 1 h 40 m | Show
Brian Burns, a Pro Bowl defensive end who goes by the nickname "Spiderman," calls Tom Brady the Carolina Panthers' "arch nemesis." And for good reason. Brady is 4-0 against Carolina since joining the NFC South, averaging 279 yards passing per game with eight touchdown passes and one interception while helping the Bucs outscore the Panthers 150-63. But Brady and the Bucs' offense don't resemble the efficient unit of the previous two seasons. Tampa Bay (3-3) enters Sunday's game at division foe Carolina ranked 21st in offense, 20th in scoring and 32nd in rushing - some uncharacteristic numbers for a Brady-led offense. Brady spent part of last Sunday berating his offensive line, angered by Tampa Bay's ineptitude on offense during a 20-18 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. This week, he admitted the offense is far from a "finished product." Burns is hoping the Panthers (1-5) can take advantage - even though they won't have Christian McCaffrey on offense after he was traded to the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday night.
10-17-22 | Broncos v. Chargers OVER 45.5 | 16-19 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 36 m | Show
Justin Herbert has shown he has been able to bounce back from a serious injury. Whether Russell Wilson can do the same has turned into the leading storyline for Monday night's game. Herbert's Los Angeles Chargers will host Wilson and the Denver Broncos in prime time in an AFC West matchup. Even though there remain nearly three months of the regular season to be played, both quarterbacks have already experienced their share of adversity. Wilson received an injection last Friday for a strained muscle near his throwing shoulder. The platelet-rich plasma injection was used to treat a strained latissimus dorsi on his right side. It is the large, flat muscle on the back that stretches to the sides and behind the arms. Wilson sustained the injury during an Oct. 2 loss at Las Vegas and then played through it on a short week when the Broncos lost 12-9 in overtime to Indianapolis. For the second straight year and fourth time in his 11-year career, Wilson is on a team that is 2-3 after five games. His 82.8 passer rating is 12th in the AFC along with a completion rate of only 59.4%, hardly what the Broncos' new ownership group expected when they gave Russell a $245 million contract extension. Even though Wilson and the Broncos have struggled under first-year coach Nathaniel Hackett, Chargers boss Brandon Staley remains leery of what Wilson can do.
10-16-22 | Cowboys v. Eagles UNDER 42.5 | Top | 17-26 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 29 m | Show |
Jason Peters is ready to return to Philly and play in front of some bleeping idiots. His endearing words toward the fans, of course. A nine-time Pro Bowl pick and two-time All-Pro, Peters built a Hall of Fame-worthy career at left tackle for the Eagles that included a spot on the NFL's Team of the Decade for the 2010s. He missed out, though, on the biggest moment in franchise history when he suffered a torn ACL during the 2017 season and missed the Super Bowl. Peters still earned a Super Bowl ring but his performance never quite rebounded to an elite level. He spent last season with Chicago and signed this season with the Cowboys - you know, the Eagles' most-hated rival. Peters comes back for a pretty big game: The Eagles are 5-0 and the only undefeated team in the NFL. The Cowboys (4-1) have won four straight. The Eagles can take a two-game lead on the defending division champions with a victory on Sunday night. Philadelphia is 5-0 for the third time in franchise history. The Eagles started 7-0 in 2004 when they finished 13-3 in the regular season before falling in the Super Bowl to New England, and began 6-0 in 1981 but dropped their first playoff game. The Linc will be rowdy -- and Peters will be ready.
10-16-22 | Bills v. Chiefs OVER 54.5 | 24-20 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 39 m | Show
In one of the wildest playoff games in NFL history, the Bills and Chiefs traded the lead three times and scored 25 points in the final 2 minutes of regulation, including a 13-second field-goal drive by Kansas City to force overtime that folks in Buffalo are still trying to live down. The Chiefs went on to win that game in January, ending Buffalo's season at Arrowhead Stadium for the second consecutive year, and leaving Josh Allen and the rest of the heartbroken Bills counting the days until Sunday. That's when they get another shot at the team that's becoming their nemesis.
10-16-22 | Panthers +11 v. Rams | 10-24 | Loss | -128 | 36 h 30 m | Show
Not many NFL offenses have struggled more than the Los Angeles Rams' unit this season. The Carolina Panthers' offense is one of them. The Panthers' struggles aren't exactly surprising, since their top three quarterbacks are either injured or ineffective. Carolina (1-4) took drastic steps to fix its larger problems Monday by firing coach Matt Rhule, and Steve Wilks will make his interim head coaching debut Sunday when the Panthers visit the defending Super Bowl champions (2-3) at SoFi Stadium. Wilks' quarterback is all but certain to be P.J. Walker, the seldom-used veteran backup who's the last man standing behind Baker Mayfield and Southern California natives Sam Darnold and Matt Corral.
10-16-22 | Cardinals v. Seahawks OVER 50.5 | 9-19 | Loss | -108 | 4 h 21 m | Show
Considering where the rest of the teams stand in the NFC West five games into the season, Seattle coach Pete Carroll sounded almost appreciative that no one has run away with the division. That seems unlikely to continue. Which adds a little bit more importance to what happens on Sunday when the Seahawks host the Arizona Cardinals, with one team guaranteed to be sitting in the division basement afterward.
10-16-22 | Jaguars v. Colts UNDER 41.5 | 27-34 | Loss | -110 | 1 h 29 m | Show
Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich understands the ramifications of Sunday's high-stakes bout. With the Jacksonville Jaguars taking Round 1 of this biannual rivalry, Indy needs to settle the score for a legitimate shot at the larger prize - its first AFC South title since 2014. And Reich, a boxing analogy fan, fully expects his team to fight. "It's a big deal. It's a division game, they beat us up pretty bad last time, I think we all understand," he said. "This is about us taking a step and proving we are making the progress we want to make." It's not been the kind of start Reich or anyone else around Indianapolis envisioned. The Colts (2-2-1) have allowed a league-high 21 sacks and are averaging a league-low 13.8 points. New quarterback Matt Ryan has 11 fumbles, one short of his single-season career high, and last year's NFL rushing champion Jonathan Taylor hasn't rushed for more than 71 yards since Week 1. Worse yet, Indy is 0-2-1 in division play as it begins the second half of its six-game rotation this weekend. Yet somehow, Indy finds itself one-half game behind division-leading Tennessee, with a rematch against the Titans looming in Week 7. Yes, the Colts know something needs to change. Recently, the Jaguars (2-3) have delivered the knockout blows. They've won four of six in this series, eliminating the Colts from the playoffs in last season's stunning finale and logging the NFL's first shutout this season with a a 24-0 victory in Week 2. The Colts haven't forgotten.
10-16-22 | Vikings v. Dolphins UNDER 45 | 24-16 | Win | 100 | 1 h 25 m | Show
Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel views adversity as an opportunity. His top two quarterbacks, Tua Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater are in concussion protocol. The Dolphins have lost two straight after starting 3-0. And Miami will start a rookie quarterback Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings (4-1). McDaniel, in his first head coaching job, said there's no time to feel sorry for himself.
10-16-22 | Patriots v. Browns OVER 43 | 38-15 | Win | 100 | 1 h 22 m | Show
Jacoby Brissett looks back fondly on his rookie season with New England, where he was thrust into a starting job, was schooled in the Patriot Way as one of Tom Brady's understudies and won a Super Bowl. Bill Belichick traded him the following year. "My welcome to the NFL moment," he said this week with a laugh. At least it wasn't his last one. Brissett may experience some flashbacks Sunday against a New England team with a current QB situation similar to the one it had in 2016 as Belichick brings the Patriots (2-3) in to face the Browns (2-3), whose season seems at a crossroads in Week 6. After being drafted in the third round by New England, Brissett rocketed up the depth chart and started the season's first two games for Belichick when Brady was suspended by the NFL for the "Deflategate" scandal and Jimmy Garoppolo got hurt. Although he was only there one season - he got traded to Indianapolis the following year - Brissett remains grateful for the early opportunity to play for arguably the best coach and with the greatest quarterback in NFL history.
10-16-22 | Bucs v. Steelers OVER 46.5 | 18-20 | Loss | -110 | 1 h 18 m | Show
Tom Brady, by his own estimation, has faced the Pittsburgh Steelers "a lot." Just never quite like this. And it's not just Brady's jersey that'll be different this time around when he walks onto the Acrisure Stadium (formerly Heinz Field) turf for the first time on Sunday as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It's the team on the other side of the line of scrimmage, too. The Ben Roethlisberger-led version of the Steelers that Brady played so often with so much on the line during his long run in New England is long gone, replaced by a group that is hurting physically and mentally. Dropping four straight games and being on the wrong end of the franchise's worst loss in 33 years - as Pittsburgh was last week in Buffalo - will do that.
10-13-22 | Washington Commanders v. Bears OVER 39.5 | Top | 12-7 | Loss | -110 | 87 h 44 m | Show |
This is a simple formula. Both teams have been under team over the years. It's been three seasons since both teams combined made over bettors a profit. Bets on the under are exactly what the books are anticipating and that's exactly what's happening early on with this number falling a point to 39.5. Don't take the bait.
10-10-22 | Raiders v. Chiefs UNDER 51.5 | Top | 29-30 | Loss | -105 | 16 h 21 m | Show |
Derek Carr has had a passer rating of under 100.0 in each of his last 11 games (including playoffs), the longest streak of his career. He had never previously gone more than seven straight games without a triple-digit rating.
10-10-22 | Raiders +7 v. Chiefs | Top | 29-30 | Win | 100 | 16 h 14 m | Show |
The Raiders have been playing in close games lately, with their last nine games all decided by a single-digit margin (including playoffs). That's one shy of tying the franchise record of 10 straight, done twice (1975-76 and 1998-99).
10-09-22 | Eagles v. Cardinals +5.5 | 20-17 | Win | 100 | 7 h 11 m | Show
No NFL quarterback has struggled quite as much this season as Carolina's Baker Mayfield. The bumpy road isn't expected to get any smoother on Sunday for the 2018 No. 1 overall draft pick. Mayfield, who is last in the NFL in ESPN's total quarterback rating, leads the league's worst offense against its top-ranked defense when the Panthers (1-3) host the San Francisco 49ers (2-2). Mayfield joined the Panthers in July after a trade with the Cleveland Browns. He has struggled mightily, completing a league-low 54.7% of his passes while being limited to 186.7 yards passing per game with four touchdowns and three interceptions.
10-09-22 | 49ers v. Panthers +7 | 37-15 | Loss | -130 | 7 h 11 m | Show

10-09-22 | Dolphins v. Jets +3.5 | 17-40 | Win | 100 | 70 h 43 m | Show
The Dolphins began the season 3-0 with big wins over the New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, and Bills. However, last week in Cincinnati was a different story. Miami not only lost the game, but they lost starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa as well. In their week three matchup against the Bills, Tagovailoa hit the back of his head on the ground and stumbled as he attempted to return to the huddle. He was then taken to the locker room for a concussion evaluation, which he passed. Tua returned to the game in the second half and led Miami to a win. Tagovailoa started at quarterback for Miami four days later in their Thursday night matchup against the Bengals. For the second week in a row, he hit his head on the ground. But this time, he wasn’t able to get up off the field. A stretcher carried him off the field and he was rushed to the hospital where he was diagnosed with a concussion. Tagovailoa was discharged from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and was allowed to fly home with the team on Friday morning. Head coach Mike McDaniel said Tua will remain out with no timetable for return.
10-09-22 | Falcons +10.5 v. Bucs | 15-21 | Win | 100 | 70 h 34 m | Show
After getting off to a rocky start on the year the Falcons are bouncing back. They started with two close losses by a combined five points. Since then, the Birds are flipping the script. They continue to play close games, but come out n the winning side. A road win against the Seahawks by four got them in the win column in week three. Last week, they pulled out a three-point game at home over the Browns. The defense sealed the deal with a huge Dee Alford INT with just around a minute left.
10-09-22 | Bears v. Vikings OVER 44 | 22-29 | Win | 100 | 4 h 9 m | Show
The Minnesota Vikings have staked out a favorable position through the first quarter of their season by winning three of four games amid predictable growing pains with new playbooks and play callers on both sides of the ball. Just because Kirk Cousins worked with coach Kevin O'Connell before didn't mean the offense was going to instantly click, even with Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and Dalvin Cook at its disposal, but I think this is the week when you start to see more of what you expected.
10-09-22 | Seahawks v. Saints -5 | 32-39 | Win | 100 | 3 h 29 m | Show
Saints running back Alvin Kamara is having trouble recognizing his own team lately. New Orleans (1-3) has fumbled, stumbled and fouled its way through a three-game losing streak. The Saints - who haven't had a losing season since drafting Kamara in 2017 - are trying to clean up their act before hosting Seattle (2-2) on Sunday.
10-09-22 | Texans v. Jaguars OVER 43 | 13-6 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 14 m | Show
The Jacksonville Jaguars are on a streak of streaks. Last week, they lost at Philadelphia to extend their NFL record skid of consecutive losses to NFC teams to 18. The week before, they ended an 18-game road losing streak with a victory at the Los Angeles Chargers. In Week 2, they won their eighth straight at home against Indianapolis. Next up: Jacksonville (2-2) has a chance to end an eight-game slide against Houston (0-3-1) on Sunday. Winning would be another sign of progress for a franchise that's endured double-digit losses in 10 of the last 11 seasons and finished last in the AFC South in each of the previous four years.
10-09-22 | Giants +9 v. Packers | Top | 27-22 | Win | 100 | 66 h 19 m | Show |
Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur has done the London trip twice before as an offensive coordinator and "didn't leave the hotel either time." Safe to say he'd prefer star quarterback Aaron Rodgers - a Manchester City fan - not try to venture north for the Premier League champion's home game Saturday (though Rodgers could satisfy his soccer fix Friday night when the U.S. women's team faces European champion England in a friendly at Wembley Stadium). The Packers' schedule for their first-ever international regular-season game doesn't leave much time for sightseeing. Same goes for the New York Giants (3-1). Both teams are scheduled to arrive in the British capital Friday morning ahead of Sunday's game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Rodgers, a four-time MVP, had hoped the Packers (3-1) would arrive earlier in the week "to experience a little bit of that culture" but he knows ultimately it's a business trip - a long-awaited one at that.
10-06-22 | Colts +3.5 v. Broncos | Top | 12-9 | Win | 100 | 10 h 23 m | Show |
Russell Wilson and Matt Ryan can sure feel each other's pain. None of the nine NFL teams that changed quarterbacks this season has a winning record heading into October. Two of them square off Thursday night when Ryan's beleaguered Indianapolis Colts (1-2-1) visit Wilson's banged-up Denver Broncos (2-2). Both QBs have found a rough transition to their new teams and both are missing key offensive and defensive players on a short week. Ryan has eight turnovers in four games, has been sacked 15 times and fumbled nine times in his first season since leaving Atlanta. Wilson is off to the slowest start of his career with just four TD passes in his first season out of Seattle. New surroundings, new teammates, new terminology are all hurdles that even former MVPs such as Ryan or Super Bowl winners such as Wilson have to overcome.
10-03-22 | Rams v. 49ers | Top | 9-24 | Win | 100 | 30 h 36 m | Show |
The stakes will be far lower when the Los Angeles Rams visit the San Francisco 49ers for the third meeting between the teams this calendar year. The intensity is always high when these NFC West rivals meet. Ever since good friends Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan took over as coaches in Los Angeles and San Francisco in 2017, the franchises have used each other as measuring sticks. That will be no different on Monday night when the Rams (2-1) visit the 49ers (1-2). "A lot of these games over the last couple of years have been deciding factors for playoff seeding, home-field advantage, obviously an NFC championship thrown into the mix. So they've always had a huge level of importance," Niners right tackle Mike McGlinchey said. "We know each other very well. It's been a lot of the same core guys down there, it's been a lot of the same core guys up here. So it's always a fun battle." The Rams have had better team success with four playoff berths, two Super Bowl appearances and the title last season. The Niners have had the edge in the head-to-head battle, winning the past six regular-season matchups, including a Week 18 game last January that got them into the playoffs. But the Rams got their revenge a few weeks later when they beat San Francisco 20-17 in the NFC title game on the way to their Super Bowl victory. "We could talk about all those different games, but I think at the end of the day what it boils down to is they've played well, they've made the plays in crunch time," McVay said. "I think the ultimate thing that's really important for us is each game is its own separate entity. ... But we know that this game is going to be different than the other ones. We've got to be able to show up, and play well in that three-hour window. That's what our focus and concentration will be solely focused on. No different than when we had to play them for the third time last year." JIMMY BOUNCEBACK Garoppolo's first start after Trey Lance went down with a season-ending ankle injury for San Francisco turned out to be a dud. Instead of building off a promising relief appearance in Week 2, Garoppolo looked rusty after no offseason work and showed the flaws that led the Niners to make the big move to acquire Lance last season. He missed on a few chances at big plays in the first half, then turned it over twice in the second half, as well as stepping out of the end zone for a safety in the 11-10 loss to Denver.
10-02-22 | Jaguars +7 v. Eagles | 21-29 | Loss | -130 | 25 h 34 m | Show
Jacksonville has started the season 2-1 for the first time since 2018 and has scored 84 points over the three games. That is the third-most points scored through three games of a season in team history (98 in 1997 and 89 in 2017).
10-02-22 | Bills v. Ravens +3.5 | Top | 23-20 | Win | 100 | 25 h 43 m | Show |
The Ravens lost their first home game versus the Bills (13-10 on Halloween in 1999) but they're 5-0 against them in Baltimore since then, holding Buffalo to seven or fewer points four times, including the most recent game, a 47-3 Ravens win in the 2018 season opener.
10-02-22 | Vikings v. Saints +3.5 | 28-25 | Win | 100 | 20 h 49 m | Show
Get to London early in the week, bond as a team, then try to snap a losing streak. New Orleans Saints coach Dennis Allen has been here before, in 2014 when his then-Oakland Raiders lost 38-14 to the Miami Dolphins at Wembley Stadium. They slipped to 0-4 and it was their 10th straight loss overall. Allen was fired the next day. The Saints (1-2) arrived on Monday in the British capital and brought with them a banged-up quarterback and a two-game losing streak as they prepare to play the Minnesota Vikings (2-1) on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the NFL's first international game this season.
09-29-22 | Dolphins v. Bengals -3.5 | 15-27 | Win | 100 | 6 h 33 m | Show
The Miami Dolphins outlasted the Buffalo Bills last week to start the season 3-0 for the first time since 2018. The early going for the Cincinnati Bengals has been surprising, too, but in a different way. The defending AFC champions lost their first two games before rediscovering their 2021 chemistry and beating the New York Jets 27-12 on Sunday. The Dolphins snuck out of last week's hyped showdown with a 21-19 win over the Bills thanks to some clock mismanagement at the end. Buffalo ran out of time trailing by two points and trying to get in position for a potential game-winning field goal.
09-26-22 | Cowboys v. Giants | Top | 23-16 | Loss | -125 | 14 h 36 m | Show |
The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants are going to renew their NFC East rivalry on Monday night, -and this one might be an indication of whether the times are changing. The Cowboys, the defending division champions, have owned the Giants the last five years. The teams have played 10 times and Dallas has won nine. This season has gotten off to an interesting start, though. Dallas has split two games and saw quarterback Dak Prescott undergo thumb surgery after the season opener. How long the star quarterback will be sidelined is uncertain, but Cooper Rush will be running the offense against the surprising Giants. New York, which won four games last year, is halfway to that total after knocking off Tennessee and Carolina in Brian Daboll's first two games as coach. Beating Dallas in a nationally televised game would be another step toward respectability after five straight losing seasons.
09-25-22 | 49ers v. Broncos +2 | Top | 10-11 | Win | 100 | 10 h 36 m | Show |
The only difference the San Francisco 49ers see in longtime nemesis Russell Wilson isn't in his game but his gear. "It's so weird seeing him in a new uniform," linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair said. "But he's the same exact guy." Kyle Shanahan thinks so, too. "I see the same stuff I've seen going against him in Seattle for the last 10 years. (It's just that) they've just come up short on a couple of touchdowns there," said San Francisco's coach, who brings a 2-8 record against Wilson into Sunday night's showdown between the 49ers (1-1) and Broncos (1-1). Shanahan pointed to Wilson's 35-yard fourth-quarter dart to Courtland Sutton on third-and-16 last week as evidence the 33-year-old QB still has it.
09-25-22 | Jaguars +3.5 v. Chargers | Top | 38-10 | Win | 100 | 5 h 27 m | Show |
There's plenty to like about a matchup between quarterbacks Trevor Lawrence and Justin Herbert. Not only are they at the top of the list for the league's best hair, but both are the leaders of their respective franchises. The biggest question, though, going into Sunday's matchup between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Chargers is if they will face each other for the first time. Herbert is listed as questionable after not practicing Friday and being limited Wednesday and Thursday due to fractured rib cartilage. The injury happened after he took a hit from Kansas City's Michael Danna during the fourth quarter of last Thursday's 27-24 loss to the Chiefs. After not making any passes Wednesday, Herbert took his normal amount of throws Thursday during the individual session of practice open to reporters. If he plays, Herbert will wear a rib protector, but could also receive an injection to deal with the pain. Herbert's status will likely not be fully resolved until Sunday morning.
09-25-22 | Ravens v. Patriots UNDER 44.5 | 37-26 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 31 m | Show
It was April 2018 and the New England Patriots were fresh off a second straight trip to the Super Bowl. With Tom Brady on the roster, they didn't enter that offseason explicitly looking for a quarterback. But they were mindful that a successor would need to be lined up only months removed from Brady celebrating his 40th birthday. It led them to bring in multiple players for visits leading up to the NFL draft that spring, including a speedy former Heisman Trophy winner who was trying to quiet growing whispers around the league that he might be better suited to play receiver at the next level. It didn't stop Bill Belichick from wanting to meet Lamar Jackson.
09-22-22 | Steelers v. Browns -4 | Top | 17-29 | Win | 100 | 6 h 48 m | Show |
For the first time since 2004, Ben Roethlisberger isn't part of the Steelers-Browns rivalry, a matchup the Ohio-born-and-bred quarterback dominated for 18 seasons and will now watch with everyone else. On Thursday night, Mitch Trubisky makes his debut in one of the NFL's fiercest feuds. A second appearance isn't guaranteed. Struggling to connect with Pittsburgh's receivers, Trubisky, chosen as the starter in training camp over rookie quarterback-in-waiting Kenny Pickens, may look to take some deep shots downfield when the Steelers (1-1) visit a Browns team still reeling from an epic collapse in their home opener on Sunday. Trubisky is ranked 32nd in yards per attempt, one of several troubling stats for him after just two games and perhaps a reflection on the 28-year-old being more of a game manager than game changer. Still, Trubisky, who grew up in Northeast Ohio but was never particularly keen on the Browns (1-1), is confident he'll soon begin hooking up with Pittsburgh's talented, but to this point underused, receivers.
09-18-22 | Bears +11 v. Packers | Top | 10-27 | Loss | -128 | 7 h 46 m | Show |
After spending the last three seasons looking up at the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North standings, the Chicago Bears head into Lambeau Field in an unusual position. The Bears (1-0) lead the Packers (0-1) in the division race for the first time since 2018, when Chicago last earned the NFC North title. The Packers have won the NFC North every year since and are 6-0 against the Bears during that stretch. Chicago would love to take a two-game edge over the three-time defending division champions by winning Sunday night. Even with the Bears coming off a win and the Packers coming off a loss, Green Bay is a 9 1/2-point favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
09-18-22 | Texans +10 v. Broncos | Top | 9-16 | Win | 100 | 3 h 1 m | Show |
Texans coach Lovie Smith had some rather recent game film to review as he developed his defensive game plan for Sunday - Wilson led the Seahawks to a 33-13 win at Houston last December. "Experience of being in that situation, of seeing him on the other side, game planning for him, it doesn't matter where you are, the person doesn't change a lot," Smith said. "Maybe some of the calls have. I see a similar offensive attack when we played the Seahawks last year. Nowadays, quarterbacks have a big say in what teams do, especially guys that have been around the game for a while." Wilson didn't have much of a say in how things ended Monday night in Seattle, and he vowed to speak up next time Hackett considers taking the ball out of his hands in a game-defining moment. "(I) always trust his decisions and everything else, but I'm also always ready to go try to do it if we need to," Wilson said. Either way, the Broncos insist they've moved on. The Broncos will be without Justin Simmons for the first time since 2017 after the star safety injured a thigh in the opener. Second-year pro-Caden Sterns replaces the ironman who has started 66 consecutive games. The Texans got big contributions from two new faces in Week 1. D-lineman Jerry Hughes, who spent the last nine seasons in Buffalo, had two sacks, an interception and a forced fumble in a 20-20 tie with Indianapolis. O.J. Howard, who signed Sept. 2 after his release by the Bills, became the third tight end in NFL history to catch a pair of TD passes in his first game with his new team.
09-15-22 | Chargers +4 v. Chiefs | Top | 24-27 | Win | 100 | 5 h 48 m | Show |
The Kansas City Chiefs have taken on an almost unbeatable air in the AFC West over the past six years, not only winning the division each time but losing just six games total against some of their longest-standing rivals. Except when it comes to the Los Angeles Chargers. They've showed no fear in splitting their past four meetings with Kansas City, including a win in Arrowhead Stadium last season. And after making a series of offseason moves - like signing Khalil Mack, who had three of their five sacks in their opener against the Raiders - designed to deal with Patrick Mahomes and rest of the Chiefs' dynamic offense, the Chargers have every reason to be confident about facing the Chiefs again on Thursday night.
02-06-22 | AFC v. NFC OVER 64 | 41-35 | Win | 100 | 3 h 22 m | Show
There is no other way to play the Pro-Bowl. This game is the bookend to what is arguably the biggest sports weekend in Las Vegas and they want to put on a show. There will be very little defensive played in this one. |
