Golden Knights -102 v. Canadiens | Top | 5-2 |
Win | 100 | 13 h 13 m | Show |
In their first meeting since the Habs send the Golden Knights packing for the Summer in last year's postseason, costing Vegas a trip to the Stanley Cup Final, that the Knights would be out for a little revenge in front of the Montreal faithful. This is a bad Montreal team that even with all the Knights injuries, they still are good enough to beat Montreal. |
11-05-21 |
Devils +113 v. Kings | Top | 2-3 |
Loss | -100 | 19 h 0 m | Show |
Bernier is expected to be back between the pipes for the Devils on Friday. Prior to his previous start, the 33-year-old had been flashing signs of a renaissance in New Jersey. Bernier allowed three goals or fewer in each of his first three starts and comes in with modest overall numbers through four contests. He owns a 3-1-0 overall record to go along with a 2.74 GAA and .907 save percentage. |
11-02-21 |
Devils -118 v. Ducks | Top | 0-4 |
Loss | -118 | 16 h 36 m | Show |
This is simply a situation where you're getting a Devils team who is starting a three game trip through California. Typically game one of a trip is the best so lets give up just a little juice and get some of the Devils. |
10-31-21 |
Blue Jackets +106 v. Devils | Top | 4-3 |
Win | 106 | 13 h 51 m | Show |
The offense has struggled but the defense has carried the Blue Jackets early on this season, allowing only 2.71 goals per game. Zach Werenski, Vladislav Gavrikov, and Jake Bean have combined for 1.7 defensive point shares and 21 blocked shots while Andrew Peeke is adding 15 blocked shots and 10 hits to give the Blue Jackets two strong defensive pairings. In addition, the Blue Jackets are seeing the incredible play from goaltender Elvis Merzlikins who has a .939 save percentage and a 1.98 goals-against average on 163 shots. |
10-30-21 |
Canadiens v. Kings -107 | Top | 2-5 |
Win | 100 | 12 h 32 m | Show |
The Canadiens made the Stanley Cup Finals last season but started this season badly losing their first five games. The team has won two of their last three games but the wins were facing teams that were pretty bad last season and the one loss was a bad one against expansion Seattle. |
10-22-21 |
Oilers +124 v. Golden Knights | Top | 5-3 |
Win | 124 | 17 h 22 m | Show |
The question remains, where are the goals going to come from? The Knights have/had seven players that were listed as day to day or worse. The Oilers are not a team that Vegas can match offensively right now, plus i think they are going to have to be more of a dump and chase team because the transition game won't work tonight with Pacioretty and Stone in the lineup. |
10-16-21 |
Hurricanes -110 v. Predators | Top | 3-2 |
Win | 100 | 16 h 26 m | Show |
The favorite in this series has won 10 of the last 14 meetings, adding to the Carolina domination over Nashville winning 21 of their last 29 meetings. |
06-19-21 |
Lightning -125 v. Islanders | Top | 2-3 |
Loss | -125 | 7 h 36 m | Show |
The team finished the season ranking sixth in goals against per game and ninth in shots against per game. Andrei Vasilevskiy had a 31-10-1 record with a 2.21 GAA and a .925 SV% this season. He has started every playoff game and has been excellent. This is a team that can beat you in many different ways. They can outscore you and, as we've seen twice this series, can win a defensive battle as well. |
06-18-21 |
Golden Knights v. Canadiens +150 | Top | 2-3 |
Win | 150 | 5 h 25 m | Show |
The Canadiens have been led throughout the playoffs by their goaltender Carey Price, who has been allowing only 2.1 goals per game and is saving .930 percent of shots. In the recent victory, Price saved 29 of 31 shots and made some saves that looked like sure goals for the Golden Knights. Aside from Carey Price continuing to play great, the Canadiens defense got a great boost from Jeff Petry returning to the lineup who helped the defense create turnovers throughout the game and eliminate the Vegas offense. |
06-17-21 |
Lightning -127 v. Islanders | Top | 2-1 |
Win | 100 | 5 h 25 m | Show |
Defense and goaltending were excellent for the Lightning this season and they have continued to play well in the playoffs. They gave up two goals or less in three out of six games against a high-powered Florida offense. Tampa Bay gave up two goals or less in four out of five games against the Hurricanes in round two. Goaltending was the main reason they were able to defeat the Canes in five games. They allowed two goals in games one and two against the Islanders. The team finished the season ranking sixth in goals against per game and ninth in shots against per game. Andrei Vasilevskiy had a 31-10-1 record with a 2.21 GAA and a .925 SV% this season. |
06-16-21 |
Canadiens +228 v. Golden Knights | Top | 3-2 |
Win | 228 | 8 h 43 m | Show |
The Vegas Golden Knights had their way with the Montreal Canadiens in game one, but so did the Colorado Avalanche and you saw how that worked out. This will be Montreal's best effort in this series. If they don't win this one, the series is over. |
06-10-21 |
Avalanche +120 v. Golden Knights | Top | 3-6 |
Loss | -100 | 13 h 4 m | Show |
The hope is that the backend can help compensate for the top-line struggles with Joonas Donskio and Brandon Saad both scoring in Game Five and playing well for the later lines. |
06-09-21 |
Bruins -133 v. Islanders | Top | 2-6 |
Loss | -133 | 6 h 25 m | Show |
You'll be getting the Bruins at their best here. Rask has something to prove, Cassidy has the officials attention, and Boston were the better team despite the loss. |
06-08-21 |
Golden Knights +132 v. Avalanche | Top | 3-2 |
Win | 132 | 9 h 40 m | Show |
The Avalanche scored two goals in game three and one goal in game four. The Avs finished the season ranking first in goals per game and second in shots per game. The Corsi numbers favored the Knights easy in game three and four, that means they've carried play allowing the Avalanche very little room. I don't think that changes with the Venue. |
06-06-21 |
Jets +115 v. Canadiens | Top | 1-5 |
Loss | -100 | 7 h 25 m | Show |
While the offense has struggled the defense has stepped up in the series, keeping the Jets in games and playing well in both the defensive zone and in the neutral zone. Derek Forbort and Neal Pionk have been able to create turnovers and force difficult puck movement at the blue line but will have to be more effective at the point to help put the Jets offense over the top. To put the unit over the top, goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has been incredible, saving .940 percent of shots and allowing only 1.8 goals per game to keep the Jets competitive in all their playoff games. |
06-05-21 |
Bruins v. Islanders +132 | Top | 1-4 |
Win | 132 | 10 h 43 m | Show |
While the offense has struggled, the defense has kept the Islanders in games, with the unit limiting the Bruins to only one goal in regulation in the recent game. The Islanders duo of Adam Pelech and Ryan Pulock has been able to limit the Bruins at the blue line, cutting off their angles and making it difficult to carry the puck through the neutral zone. In addition, the duo of Semyon Varlamov and Ilya Sorokin has continued to play well with the pair of goaltenders saving .929 percent of shots and allowing only 2.54 goals per game. |
06-04-21 |
Avalanche v. Golden Knights +104 | Top | 2-3 |
Win | 104 | 15 h 8 m | Show |
The Vegas Golden Knights looked poised to win Game Two as they were constantly attacking the net and had control of the game. Look for those chances to hit the back of the net in front of a home crowd who is a difference maker. |
06-01-21 |
Lightning +102 v. Hurricanes | Top | 2-1 |
Win | 102 | 12 h 44 m | Show |
The Lightning defense was struggling in the Stanley Cup Playoffs as they were constantly allowing shots on the net and playing in high-scoring games. The first game was a much-needed bounceback game for the Lightning as they only allowed one goal in the 2-1 victory. The team got great play from Victor Hedman, who blocked 8 shots in the game but Andrei Vasilenskiy led the way for the team as he saved 37 shots to give the team the win. Look for them to take a 2-0 series lead. |
05-27-21 |
Hurricanes v. Predators +127 | Top | 4-3 |
Loss | -100 | 8 h 32 m | Show |
Back are against the wall at home. That's what we have in this match-up with the Predators who will figure to give everything they have to extend this series, making the plus side the right side. |
05-26-21 |
Golden Knights v. Wild +117 | Top | 0-3 |
Win | 117 | 7 h 13 m | Show |
Playing in Minnesota has been the Golden Knights kryptonite over the years. In fact, the Wild are one of the few teams who can say they have the Knights number, winning 7 of their last 11 meetings. They one of the few teams to have a winning record home and away against Vegas. I'll take the plus money against the confident Wild who just won on the Knights home ice. |
05-24-21 |
Oilers -114 v. Jets | Top | 3-4 |
Loss | -114 | 9 h 42 m | Show |
The Oilers finished the season ranking seventh in goals per game and 15th in shots per game. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl were first and second in the league in points. Expect both of them to play a major role in the Oilers getting on the board in this series. |
05-24-21 |
Islanders +124 v. Penguins | Top | 3-2 |
Win | 124 | 6 h 20 m | Show |
After losing two in a row the Islanders beat the Penguins 4-1 in the last game to even the series. While the team is one of the lower scoring teams in the league (2.23 goals per game) they have scored four goals in each of the last two games. The Penguins won Game 3 in a 5-4 thriller but then their attack was not nearly the same in the last game only scoring one goal. However, the defense has been a big issue for the team in the series giving up four goals in three of the four games. |
05-23-21 |
Bruins -129 v. Capitals | Top | 3-1 |
Win | 100 | 4 h 4 m | Show |
Ilya Samsonov made 33 saves for Washington but looked uncomfortable for stretches of the game. He struggled to hold onto his stick - losing it three times in the second period - and had to skate off a knee injury at one point but remained in the game. He faced a relentless Bruin attack on their five powerplays. |
05-22-21 |
Panthers v. Lightning -143 | Top | 2-6 |
Win | 100 | 2 h 18 m | Show |
The Florida Panthers were outplayed in the first two games of this series and were trailing 5-3 in the third game. The Panthers came back to win game three but overall the Lightning still have dominated all three match-ups. |
05-21-21 |
Hurricanes -135 v. Predators | Top | 4-5 |
Loss | -135 | 6 h 21 m | Show |
The Predators had a great push to reach the playoffs but the offense struggled the entire season, scoring only 2.7 goals per game. The first two games have only further exposed the issues for the Predators as they have looked hapless on the offensive end of the ice, only scoring two goals in the first two games. |
05-20-21 |
Golden Knights +104 v. Wild | Top | 5-2 |
Win | 104 | 9 h 51 m | Show |
The Golden Knights have been led by their great defense all season, a unit that allows only 2.1 goals per game. In the first two games, we saw the defense's greatness on full display with only one goal allowed in each game. The unit was led by Alec Martinez and Shea Theodore, who have combined for 8.9 defensive point shares but have received incredible play from starting goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, who has saved 63 of the 65 shots thus far and continues to dominate in the net, allowing only 1.9 goals per game. |
05-20-21 |
Penguins -107 v. Islanders | Top | 5-4 |
Win | 100 | 6 h 13 m | Show |
Offense has been hot for the Penguins all season and has been decent in the first two games of the series against a very tough Islanders team. The team finished the season ranking second in goals per game and 11th in shots per game. Sidney Crosby leads the team with 62 points. If the Penguins give us shaky goaltending like game one, we'll cash this ticket easily. |
05-20-21 |
Panthers v. Lightning -126 | Top | 6-5 |
Loss | -126 | 6 h 8 m | Show |
The Lightning entered the Stanley Cup Playoffs with many questions on their roster. In the first two games, those questions were quickly answered with two decisive victories and great play throughout the lineup. Nikita Kucherov in particular has been able to make his mark in the first two games after missing the regular season with an injury, scoring two goals and distributing two assists while Brayden Point, who had 23 goals for an offense that scored 3.3 per game, found the back of the net twice in the first two games as well. |
05-17-21 |
Bruins v. Capitals +118 | Top | 4-3 |
Loss | -100 | 8 h 49 m | Show |
While the Bruins were able to limit the Capitals' offense, the offense failed to find the back of the net for the majority of the game and only scored twice in the game. The unit is only scoring 2.9 goals per game and the top line of David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, and Patrice Bergeron, who have combined for 72 goals this season, looked invisible in the game, failing to score and generate much of an attack. |
05-03-21 |
Kings v. Coyotes -137 | Top | 3-2 |
Loss | -137 | 11 h 36 m | Show |
The Kings are on a long road trip and there are some telling numbers about the Kings that play into tonight's selection. The Kings are just 19-39 in the fourth game of six situation, while just 27-57 on one days rest. This is an easy win for the Coyotes. |
05-01-21 |
Flames v. Oilers -124 | Top | 1-4 |
Win | 100 | 12 h 56 m | Show |
The Oilers are battling injuries but they'll be much better than they were in their recent loss to Calgary At home Edmonton has won eight of their last 10 and five of seven overall. I can't see a scenario where the Oilers don't come out on top. |
04-28-21 |
Coyotes -110 v. Sharks | Top | 2-4 |
Loss | -110 | 11 h 8 m | Show |
If you watched the end of the first meeting of this series, you would know that the Coyotes are clearly the better team despite losing game one. The Coyotes rallied from four goals down only to fall short. That won't be the case tonight. |
04-28-21 |
Avalanche v. Golden Knights -136 | Top | 2-5 |
Win | 100 | 10 h 3 m | Show |
The Golden Knights are four points up on the Avs for first place heading into Sunday’s action. They have the best goalkeeping tandem in the NHL with Robin Lehner and Marc-Andre Fleury. Fleury was outstanding earlier in the season and Lehner has overcome an early-season injury and is sharing the job with Fleury at this time. Fleury is 21-10-2 with a 2.09 goals-against-average while Lehner has been just as good, going 12-1-2 with a 2.04 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage. |
04-27-21 |
Islanders v. Capitals -110 | Top | 0-1 |
Win | 100 | 11 h 58 m | Show |
The Capitals are 4-0-1 this season without Ovechkin in the lineup. Daniel Sprong filled in for Ovechkin on the top line Saturday night and scored a pair of goals. He took reps in the same spot during Monday’s practice. |
04-26-21 |
Panthers -117 v. Predators | Top | 1-4 |
Loss | -117 | 16 h 33 m | Show |
The Panthers have won 31 of their 49 games this season and have been one of the surprising great teams in the NHL this season. The depth on both ends on the ice has helped put the teams over the top, with their offense for example having 7 skaters with 10 goals or more this season. The unit is scoring 3.2 goals per game and is led by a great top line in Alexsander Barkov, Frank Vatrano, and Carter Verhaeghe who have combined for 56 goals this season. |
04-26-21 |
Canadiens v. Flames -121 | Top | 2-1 |
Loss | -121 | 14 h 57 m | Show |
The Canadiens have been cold lately, losing four out of their last five games. Their last game was a 5-2 loss against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday. Tyler Toffoli and Nick Suzuki each scored a goal. Cayden Primeau stopped 29 out of 33 shots faced. The offense has been trending in the wrong direction for Montreal lately. They have scored two goals or less in eight out of the last 10 games. The Habs rank 13th in goals per game, sixth in shots per game, 16th in scoring efficiency ratio, and 19th in shooting %. Jeff Petry is tied for third among defensemen in the league with 11 goals. Tyler Toffoli is tied for fourth in goals in the NHL. Toffoli has scored a goal in three straight games. |
04-24-21 |
Maple Leafs -126 v. Jets | Top | 4-1 |
Win | 100 | 11 h 11 m | Show |
The Maple Leafs had a rare five-game losing losing streak but the recent 5-3 victory was a reminder of how great the team's offense is. The Maple Leafs are scoring 3.2 goals per game and have one of the best top lines in the NHL led by Auston Matthews, who has 34 goals this season. Along with Matthews, the Maples Leafs are finding goals from Mitch Marner and Zach Hyman, who have 31 combined goals on the top line as well as John Tavares and William Nylander who are scoring 30 goals for the second line. |
04-22-21 |
Capitals v. Islanders -118 | Top | 1-0 |
Loss | -118 | 6 h 23 m | Show |
The Islanders won their second-straight game on Tuesday night as they unleashed offense with a 6-1 win over their crosstown rivals in the New York Rangers. The Islanders' newly assembled line of Anthony Beauvillier (1G, 3A), Jean-Gabriel Pageau (1G, 1A) and Josh Bailey (2G, 1A) led the way with a combined nine points (4G, 5A). Brock Nelson and Jordan Eberle also scored while Semyon Varlamov made 25 saves in the win. |
04-22-21 |
Hurricanes -121 v. Panthers | Top | 4-2 |
Win | 100 | 6 h 10 m | Show |
The Hurricanes looked the part of contenders in the back-to-back games against the reigning Stanley Cup Champions on Monday and Tuesday, and will look to keep up their winning ways against the Panthers this season. Carolina is 5-0-1 this season against Florida and tonight starts the final two--game set against the Cats in the regular season. Since falling to the Panthers 4-3 in a shootout on Feb. 17, the Hurricanes have reeled off five straight wins against Florida. |
04-11-21 |
Rangers v. Islanders -121 | Top | 2-3 |
Win | 100 | 5 h 41 m | Show |
While the Islander's offense hopes to improve, the defense has been great all season, allowing only 2.3 goals per game and proving to be 3 pairings deep. The top pairing of Adam Pelech and Ryan Pulock has combined for 6 defensive point shares and 126 blocked shots, the pairing of Scott Mayfield and Nick Leddy have combined for 3.9 defensive point shares while Andy Greene and Noah Dobson have combined for 4.2 defensive point shares. In addition, the goaltending duo of Semyon Varlamov and Igor Shesterkin has been incredible, both saving more than .915 percent of shots and allowing 2.2 goals per game or less. |
04-10-21 |
Oilers -109 v. Flames | Top | 0-5 |
Loss | -109 | 9 h 49 m | Show |
The Flames are falling, and they’re falling hard. They’ve won just two of their last eleven, a lacklustre 5-9 since Darryl Sutter has been back behind the bench. What’s going on? They’re scoring just 2.35 goals a game during those fourteen games, which would easily put them in the bottom five in goals scored per game overall. |
03-12-21 |
Sharks -111 v. Ducks | Top | 6-0 |
Win | 100 | 8 h 9 m | Show |
San Jose also has a slight momentum advantage, ending a three-game losing streak Monday with a 3-2 overtime victory over the St. Louis Blues. The Ducks will enter off a lackluster 5-1 defeat to the Los Angeles Kings at home Wednesday, putting them at a slight rest disadvantage as well. |
03-12-21 |
Golden Knights v. Blues -112 | Top | 5-4 |
Loss | -112 | 6 h 29 m | Show |
The Golden Knights are in first place in the West Division with a 16-6-1 record (33 points) in 23 games this season. The Blues are just one point behind Vegas at 14-8-4 (32 points) in 26 games. Vegas will have some question marks in goal Friday: Marc-Andre Fleury was added to the COVID protocol list Thursday, and Robin Lehner is on a conditioning stint in the AHL after dealing with an upper-body injury. Goalie Logan Thompson was recalled from Vegas' AHL affiliate and is 6-1-0 with a 1.72 goals-against average and a .946 save percentage this season. He was named the AHL Goaltender of the Month in February. |
03-11-21 |
Canadiens -103 v. Flames | Top | 1-2 |
Loss | -103 | 4 h 32 m | Show |
There’s been no questioning the Canadiens’ effort level in recent games. The wins haven’t come as regularly as desired, but all the elements that should bring them about have been present. It was mostly a matter of limiting the power-play opportunities for opponents, and capitalizing on one or two more of the chances they were able to get on offence. |
03-11-21 |
Blackhawks +140 v. Stars | Top | 4-2 |
Win | 140 | 5 h 4 m | Show |
The Blackhawks have been a good bet-on team after getting blown out and still are on a road hot streak. I'll take the plus money. |
03-10-21 |
Senators +199 v. Oilers | Top | 1-7 |
Loss | -100 | 9 h 14 m | Show |
The Oilers are playing 8 of their next 10 on the road, so it's likely the Oilers may get caught looking ahead in this one, especially after putting the Senators down last night. Let's get some of the +200 underdog. |
03-09-21 |
Blackhawks v. Stars -123 | Top | 1-6 |
Win | 100 | 10 h 46 m | Show |
You would think that the record would be better but the Blackhawks have not been a great bounceback team after losing their previous game by three or more goals. |
03-09-21 |
Panthers v. Blue Jackets +118 | Top | 4-2 |
Loss | -100 | 6 h 55 m | Show |
The Panthers saw a recent 3-0-2 stretch end with a 4-2 loss Sunday at surging Carolina. Florida leads the NHL averaging 34.1 shots on goal but managed just 23 while also yielding at least four goals for the third time in five games. |
03-09-21 |
Rangers v. Penguins -165 | Top | 2-4 |
Win | 100 | 5 h 47 m | Show |
The Penguins are 4-1-0 against the Blue Shirts, posting 18 goals (3.6 per) and allowing 13 against (2.6 per). Zach Aston-Reese started his season with a 4-game point streak, and after a 7-game point drought, he’s recorded goals in each of the past two. Evgeni Malkin has also posted markers in each of the past two as he begins to round into form. Non coincidentally, he is looking more and more comfortable with Kasperi Kapanen. |
03-08-21 |
Canadiens -142 v. Canucks | Top | 1-2 |
Loss | -142 | 10 h 44 m | Show |
It may have taken four meetings, but the Montreal Canadiens finally came away with a victory over one of their nemeses this season, the Winnipeg Jets. On Saturday night we witnessed the same Canadiens that started the season, and it wasn’t just fun to watch (after the first period anyway), it was a much-needed confidence boost for the team. We saw all four lines contribute, and four of the seven goals in less than 10 minutes in the middle period. Carey Price also had a great performance coming oh so close to his first shutout of the season before letting in one late goal in the 7-1 victory. |
03-08-21 |
Coyotes +166 v. Avalanche | Top | 3-2 |
Win | 166 | 10 h 10 m | Show |
This game looks way too easy. the Avs have handled the 'yotes easily this season but beating a team three times is difficult and the price is right to take a chance with Arizona, a team the Avalanche may be overlooking. |
03-08-21 |
Golden Knights -113 v. Wild | Top | 0-2 |
Loss | -113 | 8 h 36 m | Show |
The Vegas Golden Knights will look to continue their strong play in the month of March with a two-game set against the Minnesota Wild. These teams met last week, with both games going to Vegas (though the first one required overtime). In fact, the Knights didn’t tie the game until the final minute of regulation, and it then took just two minutes for Vegas to complete the comeback. However, the Wild have controlled the matchup going back to 2017; in fact, Vegas doubled its total franchise wins against the Wild with the two victories last week. Even though the Knights took two from the Wild, the past will ensure the Knights will be up for anther match-up. |
03-07-21 |
Predators v. Stars -146 | Top | 4-3 |
Loss | -146 | 6 h 39 m | Show |
Matt Duchene is hurt. Ryan Ellis is hurt. Luke Kunin is hurt. Juuse Saros is hurt. And nobody wants to be the first one to say it out loud, so I’ll be the one to take the heat: Pekka Rinne is done. He’s 38 years old and the fact that he’s been this good for this long is already incredible. He’s struggling. The team can’t rely on him to bail them out, they’re not playing well enough in front of him to shelter him, and the fact that John Hynes currently has a choice between Rinne and fourth-string goalie Kasimir Kaskisuo means that Rinne is being asked to shoulder the starter’s workload without hope of relief. |
03-07-21 |
Capitals -102 v. Flyers | Top | 3-1 |
Win | 100 | 8 h 56 m | Show |
After sweeping the Sabres to start their 6-game in a 9-day stretch, the Flyers lost two of three in Pittsburgh. Which, if it wasn’t for their comeback on Thursday, could have easily been three losses. |
03-06-21 |
Blues -136 v. Kings | Top | 3-4 |
Loss | -136 | 9 h 25 m | Show |
The California road trip is halfway over. So far, the Blues are 3-0, winning all three games by just one goal, and there’s a lot to like from those three games. The Blues have scored 15 goals in those three games, and Wednesday night’s game was a romp for the power play, which went 3-for-3. After these three games, the Blues are 9th in the league with 3.33 goals for a game, and their penalty kill and power play have both improved to 24th and 23rd in the league, respectively. |
03-05-21 |
Blues -130 v. Kings | Top | 3-2 |
Win | 100 | 11 h 58 m | Show |
Overall, the Blues are 9-2-0 away from home this season. They will face a Kings squad looking to snap a three-game losing streak. After the Kings won six consecutive games — including 3-0 and 2-1 victories over the Blues last week in St. Louis — they lost twice to the Minnesota Wild on the road and to the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday night at home. |
03-05-21 |
Capitals +118 v. Bruins | Top | 1-5 |
Loss | -100 | 6 h 9 m | Show |
If you know anything about this rivalry, you know that the Boston Bruins have always had problems with the Washington Capitals. We'll take the plus money with the Caps tonight. |
03-04-21 |
Sabres +167 v. Islanders | Top | 2-5 |
Loss | -100 | 6 h 51 m | Show |
The Sabres are not expected to make any alterations to their lineup for this evening. Although they lost on Tuesday, they performed well against the Rangers and outshot them 24-19. If there's a game that will have a slow pace it's going to be this one. Both teams are at their best when they're playing solid defense. Sabres worth a look at the generous price. |

Blues -149 v. Ducks | Top | 3-2 |
Win | 100 | 9 h 7 m | Show |
The Blues have no problem scoring goals of late, the problem is they can't top anyone of late either. I think you'll see a much better defensive effort from a team who despite beating the Ducks in their last meeting, were likely not happy with how it ended. |
03-01-21 |
Maple Leafs v. Oilers +101 | Top | 3-0 |
Loss | -100 | 11 h 42 m | Show |
Quality underdog, playing at home, with revenge. I'll take some of the Oilers tonight. After navigating a 5-6-0 record in the month of January, Edmonton went 9-3-0 in February, collecting 18 of 24 points. The squad ranks 2nd in the North Division with 28 points and a .609 points percentage. Connor McDavid (14G, 26A) is first in National Hockey League scoring 40 points. Leon Draisaitl (10G, 24A) is tied with Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane for second with 34 points. |
03-01-21 |
Canucks +119 v. Jets | Top | 4-0 |
Win | 119 | 9 h 20 m | Show |
Again, Dana feels were getting a decent underdog in this match-up. The Jets are coming off what looked to be an impressive 2-1 win against the Canadiens. The fact is, they were outplayed badly, had it not been for the play of Connor Hellebuyck the Jets would have been beaten convincingly. |
03-01-21 |
Hurricanes v. Panthers +102 | Top | 3-2 |
Loss | -100 | 9 h 32 m | Show |
I'm always looking to find solid underdogs and that's exactly what we have here. The Carolina Hurricanes took the first game of this set Saturday in a close shootout win. The Canes’ goalie situation is getting more muddled with Petr Mrazek returning to practice with full use of his goalie stick. Being able to use his injured hand means that he is nearing a return. There has not been a starter named but it could be Alex Nedeljkovic in net with James Reimer getting the last two starts The Carolina Hurricanes are just 2-4-0 this season when finishing out the second halves of these two-game series. The Panthers have been much better in their final games with a 6-1-0 record. |
02-27-21 |
Kings +155 v. Wild | Top | 3-4 |
Loss | -100 | 7 h 39 m | Show |
The +155 here is too tempting to pass up. The Kings aren't as bad as most perceive them to be and you can bet they'll be better against the Kings than they were in their last meeting. Don't forget about how well Los Angeles played against the Blues and two games against the Coyotes. |
02-26-21 |
Avalanche v. Coyotes +153 | Top | 3-2 |
Loss | -100 | 11 h 11 m | Show |
More quality dogs that we can sink our teeth into. In this case, we actually get a juicy number with the home team. The Avalanche were tabbed as a favorite to advance to the Stanley Cup Final for most of the offseason. However, early in the season, they’ve struggled to put together a consistent performance from game to game. Surprisingly, it is the offense who mostly to blame. Colorado scores 2.88 goals per game (ranking 19th) while allowing 2.38 (ranking fourth). They’re tied for the fifth-most shots per game (31.8), so the big issue is that shots aren’t falling. While Nathan MacKinnon has still been a points machine with 14 assists this season, he’s only scored four goals. After scoring 35 goals last season, his pace has definitely cooled a bit. Once he gets going, though, the rest of the division will need to be on notice. |
02-25-21 |
Canadiens v. Jets +111 | Top | 3-6 |
Win | 111 | 9 h 6 m | Show |
Again, we're always looking for the quality underdog because that's how you beat the National Hockey League. We're catching a road team who just had their head coach, Claude Julien, fired because of their recent play. The public is thinking this will inspire the team but from what I'm hearing, the locker room isn't great. |
02-25-21 |
Stars +110 v. Panthers | Top | 2-3 |
Loss | -100 | 8 h 19 m | Show |
You always want to find a way to get quality dogs on your NHL card, especially when we're talking about a dog against what could be a tired Panthers team, playing their third game in four days. The Stars have a gauntlet of a schedule coming up so they better get the games when they're fresh or they're going to be buried. |
02-23-21 |
Predators -152 v. Red Wings | Top | 2-0 |
Win | 100 | 4 h 51 m | Show |
The Preds will be looking to build off a 4-2 victory against Columbus on Saturday night, a satisfying win that seems to have given the group a new sense of positivity as they look to improve their record and gain ground in the Central Division. |
02-22-21 |
Stars +107 v. Panthers | Top | 1-3 |
Loss | -100 | 7 h 34 m | Show |
It's been nine days ince the Stars played but history has shown us that they get fired up after a long lay off, rather than coming off rusty. Take the plus money in this one. |
02-21-21 |
Jets v. Canucks +101 | Top | 4-3 |
Loss | -100 | 9 h 29 m | Show |
This is going to be a soft spot before the Jets start playing Canada's heavy hitters. Let's bet that this is a look-ahead spot for Winnipeg. |
02-21-21 |
Flyers v. Bruins -171 | Top | 3-7 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 7 m | Show |
The Bruins will be facing a very shorthanded Flyers team tonight: Philly will be without Claude Giroux, Travis Konecny, Scott Laughton, Oskar Lindblom, Jakub Voracek, and Justin Braun, all of whom are on the COVID-19 list. The Flyers have six losses on the young season, and four of them have been against the Bruins. Two of those Bruins wins were in regular, with the two others coming in overtime and a shootout. |
02-20-21 |
Flames +117 v. Oilers | Top | 1-7 |
Loss | -100 | 10 h 31 m | Show |
Look for the second half of both tandems to get a game tonight. Mikko Koskinen (6-8-0, .894 SV% / 3.43 GAA) will go tonight for the Oilers, while Jacob Markstrom (8-5-1, .918 SV% / 2.61 GAA) will start for the Flames. I'll take Markstrom between the two. |
02-20-21 |
Maple Leafs -107 v. Canadiens | Top | 5-3 |
Win | 100 | 6 h 18 m | Show |
Give me a power play that hits at a 35% clip against an inconsistent special teams unit for Montreal. That will be the difference. |
02-20-21 |
Panthers -169 v. Red Wings | Top | 1-2 |
Loss | -169 | 4 h 26 m | Show |
Florida (10-2-2) enters the series with 22 points, and is currently tied atop the Central Division standings alongside Chicago. It has rolled off five consecutive wins since losing to Detroit on Super Bowl Sunday, including three straight decisive wins over the defending Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning, and a 4-3, mid-week overtime victory against the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday. |
02-19-21 |
Jets +101 v. Canucks | Top | 2-0 |
Win | 101 | 9 h 18 m | Show |
The Canucks have an expensive but unproductive bottom-line situation. The defense is also on shaky ground, giving Winnipeg a shot at victory here. If the Jets can stay out of their own way, they should be able to control the game at even-strength. They Canucks also don’t have a player of McDavid’s caliber, which may ease the pressure a bit. |
02-18-21 |
Kings v. Coyotes -154 | Top | 3-2 |
Loss | -154 | 8 h 46 m | Show |
The Kings won their second straight game 4-0 versus the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night. Jaret-Anderson Dolan finished with a goal and an assist while Dustin Brown netted his team-high seventh goal of the season in the win. Jonathan Quick turned back the clock with a 28-save shutout for Los Angeles, which is suddenly trending up following a season-long five-game slide. |
02-18-21 |
Sharks v. Blues -183 | Top | 2-3 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 7 m | Show |
San Jose enters this one 25th in the league in goals for as they average 2.43 goals per contest this season. The Sharks stand tied for 27th in the league in goals against by allowing 3.57 goals a night on the year. San Jose is 21st in power play success as they cash in on 17% of their chances with the man advantage. The Sharks are just 21st in the league in penalty killing by successfully getting through 77.4% of their shorthanded situations on the year. |
02-17-21 |
Blackhawks v. Red Wings +120 | Top | 2-0 |
Loss | -100 | 7 h 18 m | Show |
The Red Wings did everything right on Monday night. They looked like the better team through most of the game. So it had to be disappointing that despite such a strong effort, they still lost to the Chicago Blackhawks in overtime. They had several chances of their own in the extra period to take the win, but failed to make the most of their opportunities. The nice part about this schedule is Detroit gets to go right back at Chicago tonight to make good on what they started the other night. With a win tonight the Wings would split their third straight series after getting handled by Tampa Bay to begin the month. Not only that but the team has outshot their opponents in each of their last five games. You can break down those games to explain exactly how or why that happened in each case, but in the grand scheme that’s not something this team has been able to do consistently in a long time. |
02-16-21 |
Capitals +115 v. Penguins | Top | 3-1 |
Win | 115 | 6 h 59 m | Show |
The Caps still have the NHL’s best power play at a wickedly unsustainably high 35.5%. They went 1 for 3 on Sunday, but that second goal was a fluke shot that came with only 20 seconds to go, the Pittsburgh PK was pretty good and almost got out unscathed. Winning the special teams battle against a similarly high-powered offensive team is always a crucial element of these Pens/Caps games. With the Pens power play getting back into a little better form, they’re still going to need the PK to do perhaps even more than their share in a game like this one. |
02-16-21 |
Devils v. Rangers -130 | Top | 5-2 |
Loss | -130 | 6 h 41 m | Show |
Blackwood hasn’t played since Jan. 19 after being placed on the COVID-19 protocol list. He told the media on Monday that he tested positive for the virus and has since almost completely recovered, but suffered a cough and had trouble breathing. It’s unclear whether or not the Devils feel as though Blackwood is ready to start against the Rangers, but having the option is nice. If he does get the nod, there’s no guarantee that he won’t be a little rusty and might need more than one period to get back into the swing of things. |
02-15-21 |
Blackhawks -125 v. Red Wings | Top | 3-2 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 45 m | Show |
he Blackhawks won their first two games against the Red Wings by a combined score of 10-3 and will look for similar results starting on Monday night at the Little Caesars Arena. Those games proved to be a launching pad for Kevin Lankinen, who had allowed five goals to the Panthers in his first start before picking up both wins against Detroit. He’s now at a 6-2-3 record in his first season. The Red Wings got off to a good start to the season, winning two of their first four games. Then the Blackhawks sent them into a spiral, as Detroit lost eight straight including those first two against Chicago. But Detroit is back to exactly where they were before the first set against Chicago, having won two of their last four games once again. |
02-15-21 |
Islanders -121 v. Sabres | Top | 3-1 |
Win | 100 | 6 h 58 m | Show |
The Sabres are still without Rasmus Ristolainen, Casey Mittelstadt, Dylan Cozens and Curtis Lazar, all of whom were on the Covid protocol list as recently as Sunday night. |
02-14-21 |
Avalanche v. Golden Knights +108 | Top | 0-1 |
Win | 108 | 7 h 27 m | Show |
The Golden Knights sit in second place of the West Division with 19 points (9-2-1), winning four out of their last five outings. Vegas leads the league in wins at home, sporting a 7-1-1 mark at T-Mobile Arena. It is the second game in two days for the squad, which is finishing its first back-to-back set of the season. Last year, the club went 9-2-0 in the second contest of these sets, tallying 3.64 goals per game and allowing 2.36 notches per game. |
02-13-21 |
Canadiens v. Maple Leafs -130 | Top | 2-1 |
Loss | -130 | 7 h 4 m | Show |
The Habs that took the ice in their Reverse Retro blues on Thursday night bore little resemblance to the high-flying confident bunch that set the North ablaze to start the season. Devoid of imagination and inventiveness, the Canadiens took the easy way out again and again, flinging pucks at the net at any given opportunity and hoping for miracles. |
02-13-21 |
Golden Knights -175 v. Sharks | Top | 3-1 |
Win | 100 | 4 h 16 m | Show |
The Knights just dropped 1-0 game against the Ducks, a team they've owned. Expect payback when the Knights improve on their 13-5 record after scoring less than two goals. |
02-12-21 |
Bruins -171 v. Rangers | Top | 1-0 |
Win | 100 | 6 h 5 m | Show |
The Bruins only have one regulation loss this season, which happened on Jan. 18. The team is 8-0-1 since then and currently on a four-game winning streak and nine-game point streak. |
02-10-21 |
Bruins -164 v. Rangers | Top | 3-2 |
Win | 100 | 6 h 23 m | Show |
The Bruins have been stellar defensively, as the team ranks second in goals against per game (2.18). Jake DeBrusk and Matt Grzelcyk both practiced on Tuesday and are likely to return to the lineup. DeBrusk practiced on the third line, alongside Charlie Coyle and Anders Bjork. |
02-04-21 |
Coyotes v. Blues -165 | Top | 4-3 |
Loss | -165 | 7 h 57 m | Show |
The St. Louis Blues will seek a faster start in their rematch against the visiting Arizona Coyotes on Thursday. The Blues fell behind the Coyotes 1-0 Tuesday at Enterprise Center before rallying for a 4-3 victory. The Coyotes outshot St. Louis 8-1 in the first seven minutes. |
02-04-21 |
Flames -117 v. Jets | Top | 1-4 |
Loss | -117 | 6 h 28 m | Show |
Counting on Connor Hellebuyck to find his Vezina Trophy-winning form while getting more help from his supporting cast seems like the Winnipeg Jets’ most direct path to extending their decent trend as a home underdog. Calgary, with its cadre of two-way forwards such as center Sean Monahan and left-wing Matt Tkachuk, excels at making opponents work to earn their offensive-zone time. In the five-on-five phase, the Flames are eighth in the 31-team NHL in their share of shot attempts (52.9 percent), 20th in shots-for (49.6), and 15th (50.7) in high-danger chances. Calgary is 19th in goal scoring (2.78) and ninth in goals against (2.56), while they have the 11th-ranked power play (25.0 percent) and 20th-ranked penalty-killing unit (78.1). |
02-04-21 |
Stars -123 v. Blue Jackets | Top | 3-4 |
Loss | -123 | 6 h 14 m | Show |
Searching for an identity will happen after a 6-3 loss, which is what the Jackets suffered Tuesday against the Stars in a game in which Dallas was rampant through 40 minutes, building a 5-1 lead and looking every bit as good as the scoreline. It was a second straight loss for Columbus after a seven-game point streak, but the reality is the team's game still wasn't always consistent even while the Jackets were grabbing points. |
02-03-21 |
Bruins -129 v. Flyers | Top | 4-3 |
Win | 100 | 8 h 32 m | Show |
Boston now heads into this contest on a 5-0-1 run over their last six games. The Bruins finally got over the hump known as the Washington Capitals. I think they take that third period and bring it over to this contest. Many think the Flyers are a bit fraudulent. |
02-02-21 |
Ducks v. Kings -113 | Top | 3-1 |
Loss | -113 | 10 h 3 m | Show |
In the Ducks’ repeat game against the Blues on Sunday, Adam Henrique was scratched from the lineup, and goaltender John Gibson was back after he was pulled Friday when he gave up three quick goals. Still, Anaheim failed to capitalize on its chances, giving up four goals in the final 30 minutes of ice time, losing despite a 26-23 advantage on shots. |
02-02-21 |
Hurricanes -148 v. Blackhawks | Top | 4-3 |
Win | 100 | 9 h 31 m | Show |
One of the first categories I look to when handicapping hockey is special teams. There is no comparison in this match-up. Lay a little more but get a winner. The public is all over the Hawks because of the Mrazek injury. Don't fall for that, Reimer will be just fine. |
02-02-21 |
Coyotes v. Blues -151 | Top | 3-4 |
Win | 100 | 8 h 21 m | Show |
Under new general manager Bill Armstrong, who spent the previous 16 seasons in the Blues’ organization, the Coyotes have a similar personality. Namely, stingy defense but not a lot of offense. Arizona ranks 25th in scoring, at 2.50 goals per game. |
02-01-21 |
Flames v. Jets +110 | Top | 4-3 |
Loss | -100 | 7 h 17 m | Show |
This four-game set is a rematch of last year’s postseason qualifying round between the Jets in Flames, in which the Flames won that best of five series three games to one. Although the Flames got the better of the Jets in that series, it created a rivalry between the sides. I expect the Jets to play much better than they did against the Canucks, in this important revenge spot. |
02-01-21 |
Canucks v. Canadiens -160 | Top | 2-6 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 43 m | Show |
Montreal is as feared of an offensive team as they've been in a long time. If Carey Price can stay true to his name, Montreal is a legit Stanley Cup contender. |
02-01-21 |
Predators v. Lightning -167 | Top | 2-5 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 30 m | Show |
I said this in game one. I'm not going against Andrei Vasilevskiy. He looks as sharp as any goaltender in the league. |
01-31-21 |
Avalanche -144 v. Wild | Top | 3-4 |
Loss | -144 | 8 h 58 m | Show |
Colorado moved to 6-3-0 on the year with a 5-1 victory over the Wild on Saturday. Logan O'Connor opened the scoring for the Avs in his season debut, tallying his first goal of the campaign. Joonas Donskoi, Mikko Rantanen, Brandon Saad and J.T. Compher also found the back of the net, with Saad also adding a goal and an assist for his third straight multi-point effort. Netminder Philipp Grubauer earned his league leading sixth win of the season, stopping 19-of-20 shots. |
01-31-21 |
Panthers -176 v. Red Wings | Top | 3-2 |
Win | 100 | 5 h 11 m | Show |
The Panthers have won 13 of their last 16 meetings in Detroit and seven straight overall. That's really all that needs to be said. |
01-30-21 |
Avalanche -147 v. Wild | Top | 5-1 |
Win | 100 | 9 h 46 m | Show |
Forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare suffered a lower-body injury in Thursday's game against the Sharks and will miss some time for the Wild. Defenseman Devon Toews blocked a shot in the third period of the contest and his status for Saturday's outing has yet to be determined. Goaltender Pavel Francouz (lower body) and forward Matt Calvert (upper body) are both out indefinitely. |
01-30-21 |
Predators v. Lightning -172 | Top | 3-4 |
Win | 100 | 8 h 52 m | Show |
I know the Predators have handled the Lightning historically but Andrei Vasilevskiy is on fire, starting all five games for Tampa Bay going 3-1-1 with a 1.98 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage. |
