05-09-23 | Blue Jays v. Phillies OVER 8.5 | Top | 4-8 | Win | 100 | 15 h 44 m | Show |
Philadelphia will hand the ball to Aaron Nola (2-2, 4.64 ERA) on Tuesday. In Nola's last start against the Los Angeles Dodgers, he allowed seven hits and four runs in 6 1/3 innings. Nola is 0-2 with a 5.48 ERA in four career starts against the Blue Jays. After a five-game losing streak, the Blue Jays responded with a key three-game series sweep over the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Blue Jays outscored the Pirates 22-3, capped by a 10-1 victory on Sunday. Alek Manoah (1-2, 4.71 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Blue Jays. In Manoah's last start against the Boston Red Sox, he gave up eight hits and five runs, two earned, in five innings.
05-09-23 | Rays -1.5 v. Orioles | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 48 m | Show |
The Rays, who are seeking their 10th win in their past 12 games, will look to take the three-game series behind Zach Eflin (4-0, 2.25 ERA) on Tuesday. The right-hander allowed just three hits to go along with 10 strikeouts and no walks over seven innings of a 3-2 win over the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates last Thursday. Eflin hasn't faced the Orioles since he was a member of the Phillies during the 2020 season, when he allowed four runs on seven hits with 10 strikeouts and a walk in a 5-4 loss. The Rays are counting on a long outing from Eflin considering their bullpen is in flux after left-handed reliever Garrett Cleavinger was put on the 15-day injured list on Monday with an apparent right ACL injury. The Orioles, who lost a series opener for the first time this season after winning their first 11, will counter with rookie right-hander Grayson Rodriguez (1-0, 5.46). Rodriguez did not earn a decision after getting rocked for six runs on eight hits with three strikeouts and a walk in just 3 2/3 innings in a 13-10 win over the host Kansas City Royals last Thursday. He has never faced the Rays.
05-08-23 | Rangers v. Mariners -150 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -150 | 13 h 45 m | Show |
Monday's opener will feature a pair of hard-throwing right-handers, Texas' Jon Gray (1-1, 4.40 ERA) and Seattle's Logan Gilbert (1-1, 4.01). Gray is 1-2 with a 5.53 ERA in five career starts against the Mariners. Gilbert is 2-0, 2.85 in seven lifetime starts vs. the Rangers.
05-08-23 | A's v. Yankees -185 | Top | 2-7 | Win | 100 | 10 h 15 m | Show |
Nestor Cortes (3-2, 4.91 ERA), who is coming off the worst start of his career and has allowed 14 runs over his last three starts, opens the series for New York. Cortes had his turn pushed back due to strep throat and is pitching for the first time since getting torched for seven runs and five hits, including three homers, over 4 2/3 innings in a 15-2 loss at Texas April 30. Cortes is 0-1 with a 4.38 ERA in four career appearances against Oakland. In his only start against the A's, Cortes allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings in a 3-2 road loss on Aug. 28, 2021. JP Sears (0-2, 5.06) -- who was 3-0 with a 2.05 ERA in seven games (two starts) before the Yankees traded him at the 2022 deadline for Frankie Montas -- goes for Oakland. Sears is coming off his best start of the season, when he allowed four hits in six scoreless innings before Oakland's bullpen allowed five runs in the 10th inning of a 7-2 loss to Seattle on Wednesday.
05-07-23 | Blue Jays -1.5 v. Pirates | Top | 10-1 | Win | 125 | 5 h 52 m | Show |
Pittsburgh was without designated hitter Andrew McCutchen and infielder Ji Hwan Bae, who sustained ankle injuries Friday -- McCutchen during pregame warmups and Bae coming out of the batter's box in the eighth. Shelton said McCutchen and Bae are "trending in the right direction." In the series finale, Toronto left-hander Yusei Kikuchi (4-0, 4.02 ERA) is scheduled to oppose Pittsburgh right-hander Roansy Contreras (3-2, 4.09). As with most of the Blue Jays rotation, Kikuchi got caught up in the team's five-game losing streak entering this series. On Tuesday against Boston, he did not get a decision after allowing five runs and nine hits in 4 1/3 innings. Among the first six hits off him were three doubles and a homer. Kikuchi is 0-0 with a 7.11 ERA in two career appearances, one start, against Pittsburgh. Contreras was cruising along with three straight quality starts, going 2-0 in those games, before he stumbled in his most recent outing. He gave up four runs and six hits in 5 1/3 innings Tuesday against Tampa Bay and was visibly frustrated in the dugout when he came out of the game. In his only appearance against Toronto, a start last Sept. 3, Contreras had a quality start but did not get a decision. He allowed one run and four hits in six innings, with five strikeouts and two walks.
05-07-23 | Rockies v. Mets UNDER 9 | Top | 13-6 | Loss | -120 | 3 h 38 m | Show |
Left-hander Joey Lucchesi (1-0, 3.86 ERA) is expected to start on three days rest for the Mets against Rockies right-hander Ryan Feltner (2-2, 4.45). The Mets' offensive struggles continued Saturday afternoon, when Rockies starter Austin Gomber and two relievers combined on a seven-hitter in Colorado's 5-2 win. The Mets had just one extra-base hit Saturday, when RBI groundouts by Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor produced their lone runs. New York has scored a total of just four runs in its last four games and has been outscored 66-40 in going 3-10 since April 22. Overall this season, the Mets are tied for seventh in the National League in runs with 144. But they're just five runs ahead of the 13th-place Rockies. In addition, the Mets have been shut out six times after being blanked eight times in 2022 -- when they finished tied for third in the NL with 772 runs scored. That was a 136-run improvement from 2021, when New York finished ahead of just the Miami Marlins and Pittsburgh Pirates.
05-06-23 | Astros v. Mariners +1.5 | Top | 5-7 | Win | 100 | 12 h 30 m | Show |
The Mariners plan to start left-hander Marco Gonzales (2-0, 4.74 ERA) on Saturday. He has struggled against the Astros, going 2-9 with a 4.89 ERA in 14 career appearances (13 starts). The Astros called up fellow right-hander J.P. France from Triple-A Sugar Land. France is scheduled to make his major-league debut Saturday night at Seattle in the middle contest of the teams' three-game series.
05-06-23 | Marlins v. Cubs OVER 9 | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 23 m | Show |
Drew Smyly (3-1, 2.83 ERA) is slated to take the mound for the Cubs on Saturday. The left-hander yielded just a second-inning homer and five other hits without a walk while lasting seven innings in Monday's 5-1 victory at Washington. It was Smyly's fifth straight start allowing two or fewer earned runs, and he is 4-1 with a 2.37 ERA in six appearances (including five starts) against the Marlins. However, Miami's Jean Segura, Jon Berti (8-for-17 with three walks and four runs in his last five games) and Bryan De La Cruz are a combined 7-for-11 against Smyly. The left-hander has never faced the Marlins' Luis Arraez, the majors' leading hitter with a .437 average after recording three hits on Friday. Arraez is 8-for-13 this season against the Cubs. Schumaker is scheduled to hand the ball to right-hander Bryan Hoeing (0-1, 6.23 ERA), who allowed two runs on five hits and a walk with four strikeouts in five innings of Sunday's 4-3 win over the Cubs.
05-05-23 | Rangers v. Angels UNDER 9.5 | Top | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 12 h 43 m | Show |
Left-hander Tyler Anderson (1-0, 5.74 ERA) will make his sixth start of the season for Los Angeles. He is 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA in five career games (four starts) against Texas. The Rangers also are getting production from an unexpected source in catcher Jonah Heim. Acquired by the Rangers in a trade in 2021 from the Oakland A's, Heim was a defense-first catcher with the idea he could prove a solid backup. But he's taken over the starting duties for Rangers manager Bruce Bochy, thanks to his ability to contribute offense as well. Heim, a switch-hitter, is batting .294 with seven doubles, six homers, 23 RBIs and a team-leading .959 OPS. "This guy does a terrific job behind the plate," Bochy said. "Metrics show that he's a good framer, good catcher, good blocker and a good thrower. He's hitting (close to) .300 now with power that keeps on both sides of the plate. He's emerging as one of the better catchers in the game. That's how good I think he is." The Rangers, who have won four of their last five games, had not yet announced a starting pitcher for Friday's game as of Thursday evening.
05-05-23 | Yankees +170 v. Rays | Top | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 50 m | Show |
The New York Yankees have plenty of ground to make up on the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East standings. A good time to start would be Friday night in the opener of a three-game series in St. Petersburg, Fla. Despite having the second-highest payroll in the majors, the Yankees enter the series last in the division, nine games behind the MLB-best Rays, who have the 28th-ranked payroll. "We have time to make up ground," New York general manager Brian Cashman told reporters on Wednesday. "... Don't count us out. Don't give up on us." The Yankees helped their cause with a 4-3 victory in 10 innings against the visiting Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday night, giving New York two straight wins following a four-game losing streak. The Yankees should start moving up the standings once they get some of their injured players back.
05-04-23 | Pirates v. Rays UNDER 8.5 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 9 m | Show |
The under is 6-2-1 in their last nine meetings and 7-3-2 in Rays last 12 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
05-03-23 | Giants +150 v. Astros | Top | 4-2 | Win | 150 | 4 h 20 m | Show |
Logan Webb (1-5, 4.10 ERA) will start the series finale for the Giants. The right-hander has recorded a decision in each of his six starts this season. On Thursday, he took a loss against the St. Louis Cardinals, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk with seven strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings. Webb lost his first four starts, pitching to a 4.94 ERA, before beating the New York Mets on April 22. Webb is 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA over two career starts against the Astros. In his latest appearance against Houston, a 5-3 home victory on Aug. 1, 2021, he allowed two runs on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts over six-plus innings. Left-hander Framber Valdez (2-3, 2.54 ERA) will start the rubber match for Houston. He has logged five consecutive quality starts, most recently allowing three runs on eight hits with three strikeouts over seven innings in a 3-1 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday. Valdez has alternated losses and wins over his past five starts. Valdez has faced the Giants once previously, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out six over five innings in a 9-6 road victory on July 30, 2021.
05-03-23 | Diamondbacks +1.5 v. Rangers | Top | 12-7 | Win | 100 | 4 h 24 m | Show |
Arizona Diamondbacks top pitching prospect Brandon Pfaadt is going to have his hands full when he makes his major league debut against the Texas Rangers on Wednesday in Arlington, Texas. The Rangers are swinging the bats as well as anyone in baseball. They pounded the New York Yankees and All-Star Nestor Cortes in a 15-2 victory on Sunday, and then began their rally from a 4-1 deficit against Diamondbacks ace Zac Gallen on Tuesday en route to a 6-4 victory. Texas left-hander Andrew Heaney (2-2, 4.38 ERA) will make his sixth start of the season on Wednesday. Heaney turned in a quality start in his previous outing, allowing three runs over six innings, but it was a losing effort against the Yankees on Thursday after he yielded three runs on four hits. Heaney gave up all three runs in the second inning that night, and he will look to avoid falling in an early hole again.
05-02-23 | Cubs v. Nationals UNDER 9 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 20 h 28 m | Show |
Under is 5-1 in Cubs last 6 overall, while the under is 7-3 in Nationals last 10 Tuesday games.
05-02-23 | Guardians v. Yankees -1.5 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 125 | 20 h 15 m | Show |
Guardians steal a win in game one but historically Cleveland has not fared well against the Yankees and we're more than willing to lay the 1 1/2 with Cole to get some plus money.
05-01-23 | Reds v. Padres -1.5 | Top | 3-8 | Win | 100 | 19 h 20 m | Show |
Weaver is 3-5 lifetime against the Padres with a 3.97 ERA in 13 games (nine starts). A notoriously slow starter, Snell vowed during spring training to get off to a faster start. The Padres are 0-5 in his starts to date. He has given up 15 runs (14 earned) on 25 hits and 18 walks with 26 strikeouts in 23 innings. But he has allowed two runs over five innings in each of his last two starts against Atlanta and the Chicago Cubs.
05-01-23 | Guardians +1.5 v. Yankees | Top | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 17 h 57 m | Show |
Domingo German (2-2, 5.54 ERA) opens the series for the Yankees and makes his third start since retiring the first 16 Minnesota Twins on April 15, striking out 11 and getting checked for sticky substances three times. In two starts since then, he has allowed 10 runs and 10 hits, including five homers in outings against the Toronto Blue Jays and Minnesota. On Wednesday, German allowed six runs on five hits in six innings and got the win when New York recorded a 12-6 victory. German is 1-2 with a 4.68 ERA in five career starts against the Guardians. He last faced them April 10 in Cleveland when he allowed two runs in three innings but also issued five walks without getting a strikeout. Cal Quantrill (1-2, 5.40) goes for Cleveland and is coming off his shortest outing so far. In a 6-0 loss to Colorado on Monday, he allowed five runs on eight hits in 3 1/3 innings. The rough outing occurred after he tossed six scoreless innings in a 3-2 win at Detroit on April 19.
04-30-23 | Pirates v. Nationals +132 | Top | 2-7 | Win | 132 | 7 h 1 m | Show |
There is something about this number that seems to be begging the players to take the Pirates. Pittsburgh should be -190, we're not falling for the trap.
04-30-23 | Guardians v. Red Sox -115 | Top | 1-7 | Win | 100 | 4 h 10 m | Show |
The Boston Red Sox will turn to left-hander Chris Sale as they look to take a three-game series from the visiting Cleveland Guardians on Sunday afternoon. A win in the rubber game would allow Boston to claim its sixth out of the first nine series. Sale (1-2, 8.22 ERA) has not won since his second start back on April 6 against Detroit, going 0-2 in three decisions since. He allowed nine hits and five runs in five innings Monday at Baltimore. The seven-time All-Star is still in the early stages of getting back to his full form after being limited to two starts during an injury-plagued 2022 season. Opposing will be Cleveland's talented young southpaw Logan Allen (1-0, 1.50), who struck out eight in six innings of one-run ball last Sunday during his major league debut against Miami. "(I'm) definitely excited to be on a team where so many young guys are getting opportunities to win games, and to see the success that we're having and just doing our best to contribute to that," Allen said. Boston will be looking to build upon a season-high 16-hit effort during Saturday's 8-7, 10-inning win.
04-29-23 | Orioles v. Tigers OVER 7.5 | Top | 4-7 | Win | 100 | 1 h 20 m | Show |
The Tigers will start a pair of veteran left-handers on Saturday, Eduardo Rodriguez and Matthew Boyd. Rodriguez was perfect into the seventh inning against the Orioles in his latest start, setting down the first 20 batters on Sunday before Ryan Mountcastle slapped a two-out single. Rodriguez came out after the inning and wound up with a no-decision as the Orioles won 2-1 in 10 innings. "I have to say that was the best start of my career," he said. "I took a no-hitter into the eighth in Oakland, but this was a perfect game." Rodriguez (1-2, 2.32 ERA) will carry a streak of 17 scoreless innings into Friday's contest. He blanked Cleveland for eight innings on April 18 and limited the Toronto Blue Jays to one run in six innings on April 12. Kremer (2-0, 6.20 ERA) has won his latest two starts. After blanking the Nationals in Washington for 6 2/3 innings on April 18, Kremer gave up four runs and seven hits in 5 2/3 innings against the visiting Boston Red Sox on Monday.
04-28-23 | Royals +1.5 v. Twins | Top | 6-8 | Loss | -100 | 17 h 16 m | Show |
Twins are 2-5 in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 1-4 in their last 5 games vs. a right-handed starter.
04-27-23 | Rays -142 v. White Sox | Top | 14-5 | Win | 100 | 12 h 31 m | Show |
Right-hander Dylan Cease (2-0, 2.73 ERA) is tasked with snapping the White Sox's losing streak. Cease is looking for his own answers after his latest outing. On Saturday against the Rays, he allowed three runs on six hits in four-plus innings, including a first-inning home run by Randy Arozarena, who later won it in the 10th with a walk-off single. Cease has made four lifetime starts against the Rays and is 1-1 with a 3.72 ERA across 19 1/3 innings. The right-hander has allowed 13 hits and 14 walks but fanned 22 in those contests. He will oppose a Tampa Bay team that is in the midst of its first slump. The Rays average 6.28 runs per game, the second-best figure in the majors, but suddenly they cannot score. They were shut out Tuesday and Wednesday by the host Astros. Houston starters Luis Garcia and Hunter Brown combined for 13 scoreless innings and 15 strikeouts while yielding just five hits and four walks. Rays manager Kevin Cash said following the second consecutive defeat that it was more about Garcia and Brown than poor execution by his offense.
04-27-23 | Mariners v. Phillies UNDER 8.5 | Top | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 6 h 33 m | Show |
Matt Strahm (1-2, 3.00 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Phillies on Thursday. Strahm is 0-0 with a 2.08 ERA against the Mariners over 4 1/3 innings in five career games, all in relief. Philadelphia's Wednesday starter, Taijuan Walker, left after four innings due to right forearm tightness. "He'll see the doctor (Thursday) and we'll re-evaluate him," Thomson said. The Mariners will look to rebound after squandering the lead on Wednesday. The Mariners will hand the ball to George Kirby (2-1, 3.57 ERA) on Thursday. In Kirby's latest start, against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday, he allowed three hits and two runs in six innings en route to a 5-2 victory. Kirby has never faced the Phillies in his two major league seasons. Before the Wednesday game, the Mariners announced that left-hander Robbie Ray would undergo surgery to repair his flexor tendon and he will miss the remainder of the 2023 season. Ray is in the second season of a five-year, $115 million contract.
04-26-23 | Red Sox v. Orioles -110 | Top | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 12 h 55 m | Show |
Red Sox are 17-36 in their last 53 vs. American League East while the Orioles are winners of 7 of 8.
04-25-23 | Astros +170 v. Rays | Top | 5-0 | Win | 170 | 5 h 20 m | Show |
A pair of right-handers will take the mound as the series continues on Tuesday. In what will be his fifth start, Houston's Luis Garcia (1-2, 5.14 ERA) will be looking to regain the form that helped him record a career-high 15 victories in 2022. The 26-year-old Venezuelan's most recent outing against the high-powered Toronto Blue Jays has manager Dusty Baker and the rest of the coaching staff encouraged. In the Astros' 8-1 win on Wednesday, Garcia fired seven shutout innings and yielded just two hits. He struck out nine and walked one over a season-high 92 pitches in Houston's first series-clinching win at home thus far. "Garcia was excellent," Baker said. "He minimized his pitches. Him and (catcher Martin Maldonado) work good together. It was much needed for us." Against the Rays in his career, Garcia is 2-1 with a 3.94 ERA in three starts. Drew Rasmussen (3-1, 2.01) gets the ball for Tampa Bay on Tuesday. In all three of his victories, the 27-year-old Puyallup, Wash., native has held the opposition scoreless -- six innings against the Washington Nationals, seven against the Oakland A's and five his last time out in Cincinnati against the Reds on Wednesday. Rasmussen holds a 2-1 record with a 3.00 ERA in three lifetime starts versus the Astros. Alex Bregman is 3-for-8 with a homer against Rasmussen.
04-25-23 | Red Sox v. Orioles -157 | Top | 8-6 | Loss | -157 | 5 h 21 m | Show |
The Baltimore Orioles will attempt to extend their seven-game winning streak when they face the visiting Boston Red Sox on Tuesday in the middle game of a three-game series. Baltimore won its seventh game in a row by rallying from a four-run deficit to beat Boston 5-4 on Monday. It was Baltimore's 11th victory in its last 13 games. "It kind of feels like last year's team a little bit," Baltimore manager Brandon Hyde said. "We just don't blow a lot of people out. A lot of tight games. I think our players are better for it with how many tight games we played last year." The Orioles have limited their opponents to 11 runs during the seven victories. Boston failed to score in the final six innings Monday after scoring four runs in the first three. Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Baltimore pitchers changed their game plan after first baseman Triston Casas hit a solo home run in the second inning. "They were throwing a lot of fastballs early on and then after that (the home run) it was breaking balls and changeups," Cora said. "And then they switched the script again." Kyle Bradish (1-0, 0.00 ERA) is expected to start for Baltimore on Tuesday.
04-24-23 | Rangers v. Reds +103 | Top | 6-7 | Win | 103 | 19 h 57 m | Show |
The Rangers are 6-20 in their last 26 interleague games vs. a left-handed starter and 3-9 in their last 12 when their opponent allows 2 runs or less in their previous game.
04-24-23 | Rockies v. Guardians OVER 8 | Top | 6-0 | Loss | -120 | 18 h 20 m | Show |
Over is 6-2 in Rockies last 8 interleague games vs. a team with a losing record and 8-3 in Guardians last 11 interleague home games.
04-23-23 | Rockies v. Phillies -1.5 | Top | 3-9 | Win | 100 | 1 h 3 m | Show |
The Phillies will send Zack Wheeler (1-1, 4.79 ERA) to the mound Sunday. In four career starts against the Rockies, Wheeler is 2-2 with a 5.16 ERA. The Rockies will look for the series split. Yonathan Daza had two hits and an RBI while C.J. Cron and Elias Diaz added two hits apiece in Saturday's setback. But the Rockies lost Kris Bryant as he was lifted for a pinch hitter in the third inning. Bryant played only 42 games last season and wound up on the injured list three separate times. After the loss, manager Bud Black said that Bryant was considered day-to-day with an SI joint and glute injury. "His swing was compromised a little bit when he put his foot down," Black said. "There was some pain." Jose Urena (0-3, 9.82 ERA) will take the ball for the Rockies on Sunday. Urena struggled in his last start against the Pittsburgh Pirates as he allowed seven hits and five runs in 4 2/3 innings. Urena has allowed seven home runs in his four starts. He allowed just 10 all of last season in 17 starts.
04-22-23 | Royals +161 v. Angels | Top | 11-8 | Win | 161 | 10 h 50 m | Show |
Left-hander Tyler Anderson (1-0, 6.75 ERA) will make his fourth start of the season Saturday for the Angels. After a strong performance his first time out -- six shutout innings in a win against the Oakland Athletics -- he has struggled his past two times out, giving up 11 runs in 8 2/3 innings. Anderson is 0-2 with a 3.32 ERA in three career starts vs. Kansas City. Right-hander Zack Greinke (0-3, 4.03 ) will make his fifth start of the season for Kansas City, still looking for his first victory. He hasn't pitched poorly, getting into the sixth inning in three of the four starts, and allowing three earned runs or less in three of four. Greinke is 7-5 with a 3.43 ERA in 20 career games (19 starts) against the Angels. Greinke, like the other Royals pitchers, has been a victim of a lack of run support from the offense. The Royals average just 2.95 runs per game, and their total runs scored are tied with the Miami Marlins and Detroit Tigers (58) to make up the bottom three in the majors.
04-22-23 | Nationals v. Twins OVER 7 | Top | 10-4 | Win | 100 | 3 h 19 m | Show |
Right-hander Chad Kuhl (0-1, 8.59 ERA) will be the starting pitcher for the Nationals. He has given up at least four runs in each of his three starts, but didn't suffer a loss until April 15 vs. Cleveland. However, the Nationals are 0-3 in his starts. Kuhl, who has made 130 career appearances, all in the National League, has never faced the Twins. Right-hander Pablo Lopez (1-1, 1.73) goes to the mound for the Twins. He has pitched into the sixth inning in each of his four outings, keeping each opponent to two or fewer runs.
04-21-23 | Blue Jays v. Yankees -1.5 | Top | 6-1 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 10 m | Show |
Yusei Kikuchi and Domingo German weren't guaranteed spots in their rotations when they arrived at spring training, but they've shown they belong so far this season. Kikuchi is scheduled to take the mound for the visiting Toronto Blue Jays and German will do the same for the New York Yankees when the teams open a three-game series on Friday night. Kikuchi (2-0, 4.70 ERA) is coming off a 5-2 victory against the red-hot Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday, holding them to one run and four hits in six innings. It was one of Kikuchi's best performances in his two seasons with the Blue Jays. His other win came in his season debut on April 4, when he held the host Kansas City Royals to one run and three hits in five innings during a 4-1 victory. German (1-1, 3.86 ERA) also had to perform well in the spring to make the rotation, and like Kikuchi, is also coming off his best outing so far this season. The 30-year-old right-hander limited the Minnesota Twins to one run and three hits over 6 1/3 innings on Saturday in a 6-1 victory. German took a perfect game into the sixth inning before finishing with 11 strikeouts and no walks. "Good life to his fastball and he used it, but he had a really good curveball going, too," Yankees manager Aaron Boone said. German is 2-4 with a 3.72 ERA in seven career appearances against the Blue Jays, including five starts. The Yankees have won four of their past five games, most recently knocking off the visiting Los Angeles Angels 9-3 on Thursday afternoon. New York has limited the opposition to 11 runs in the past five games.
04-21-23 | White Sox +158 v. Rays | Top | 7-8 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 51 m | Show |
Michael Kopech (0-2, 6.32 ERA) is scheduled to start the series opener for Chicago. Kopech has pitched well enough in his past two starts to earn his first victory. He limited the Pittsburgh Pirates to one run and two hits in six innings on April 9, but the offense didn't provide any support in the 1-0 loss. He came back last Saturday and took a 2-1 lead into the sixth inning against the visiting Baltimore Orioles, but gave up a leadoff homer and then was removed after walking the next batter. Kopech ultimately surrendered three runs and six hits in five innings of the 7-6 win in 10 innings. He was pleased with his performance, especially since his only effective pitches were his fastball and slider. "At least a third pitch, if not four pitches, would have been nice," Kopech said. "I probably would have been able to go six or seven instead of just into the sixth." Kopech has made one start against the Rays in his MLB career and blanked them on one hit over five innings in a 3-2 win on April 16, 2022. Reliever Calvin Faucher (0-0, 4.15) will make his second straight start for the Rays and could be asked to pitch as many as four innings. The right-hander has thrown just one scoreless inning of relief against the White Sox in his career.
04-20-23 | Dodgers v. Cubs +1.5 | Top | 6-2 | Loss | -175 | 8 h 18 m | Show |
The Chicago Cubs made a strong showing on their first extended road trip of the season, taking two of three from the Los Angeles Dodgers to start it off. Looking for a fifth consecutive victory, the Cubs return home Thursday night. And once again they get things started against the struggling Dodgers. Chicago lost three of its first four games this season but is 10-3 since. And following a three-game sweep of the Oakland Athletics, the Cubs have won four consecutive series. That capped a 5-1 trip that started by holding the Dodgers to two runs in each of the three games. After outscoring the A's 26-3, the Cubs lead the NL in average runs (5.82), and rank among the major league leaders in team ERA (3.24).
04-20-23 | Rockies v. Phillies UNDER 9 | Top | 5-0 | Win | 105 | 6 h 19 m | Show |
The Phillies will hand the ball to Matt Strahm (1-1, 2.13 ERA) on Thursday. The left-hander struggled in his latest outing and didn't survive the third inning in a 13-0 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday. He was tagged for three runs on two hits and three walks in 2 2/3 innings. Strahm is 1-2 with a 5.60 ERA in 13 career games (two starts) against the Rockies. Phillies infielder Edmundo Sosa, who hasn't played since Saturday because of a back ailment, is questionable for the Thursday game. Thomson said that Sosa would have been available Wednesday in an emergency situation. The Rockies will look to snap a maddening eight-game losing streak, highlighted by a 14-3 drubbing against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday in Denver. Colorado dropped two straight to the St. Louis Cardinals and then were swept in consecutive three-game series by the Seattle Mariners and Pittsburgh. The Pirates outscored the Rockies 33-9 in just-concluded set. At 5-14, the Rockies are off to the worst start in franchise history. In addition, they share the NL lead with 14 errors.
04-19-23 | Twins v. Red Sox +1.5 | Top | 10-4 | Loss | -140 | 10 h 37 m | Show |
Despite leading the major leagues with a 2.60 team ERA, the Twins have allowed the highest percentage of runs via home run at 66.7 percent (30 out of 45 total runs allowed).I'm betting that continues today but we'll need the extra help in what should be a tight ball game.
04-19-23 | Rays v. Reds UNDER 10 | Top | 8-0 | Win | 100 | 3 h 11 m | Show |
The Rays send right-hander Drew Rasmussen (2-1, 2.60 ERA) to the mound in the series finale. Rasmussen suffered his first loss of the season Friday at Toronto, allowing five runs on eight hits and four walks with four strikeouts. Over 4 1/3 innings. The four walks set a career high and the eight hits allowed were his most since surrendering nine hits in a loss to Minnesota last June. This will be Rasmussen's third career appearance against the Reds, all of them coming in Cincinnati. On Sept. 21, 2020, he gave up two homers and four runs in two-thirds of an inning for Milwaukee. He threw four shutout innings in a start last July 9 with Tampa Bay in a game the Rays lost in 10 innings, 5-4. The Reds will try to rebound with a win in the matinee and finish with a winning homestand, going 3-3 in six games so far against Philadelphia and the Rays. The Reds have alternated blowout wins and losses in their last four games, winning 13-0 and 8-1 on Saturday and Monday and losing 14-3 and 10-0 Sunday and Tuesday. The Reds will turn to a rookie making his major league debut Wednesday as right-hander Levi Stoudt gets the spot start. The Reds called Stoudt up from Triple-A Louisville and added him to their taxi squad on Tuesday to prepare him for Wednesday's debut.
04-18-23 | Brewers +143 v. Mariners | Top | 6-5 | Win | 143 | 13 h 35 m | Show |
Jesse Winker's lone season in Seattle didn't go well. The outfielder tried to play through knee and neck injuries last year, which contributed to him posting career lows in batting average (.219) and OPS (.688) and being limited on defense. Winker was left off the Mariners' playoff roster due to a neck strain, and he was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in the offseason along with infielder Abraham Toro in exchange for second baseman Kolten Wong. Winker returned to Seattle on Monday as the Brewers opened a three-game interleague series with a 7-3 win, though he sat out with right oblique tightness. The set continues Tuesday night. Before batting practice on Monday, Winker took swings in the cage, and he could return Tuesday to face Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert (1-1, 2.70 ERA). Winker wasn't concerned about returning to Seattle, where his reputation on and off the field took a hit.
04-18-23 | Guardians v. Tigers +121 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 121 | 4 h 15 m | Show |
Matthew Boyd had been scheduled to start the Tigers' series finale against San Francisco on Sunday but that game was also postponed after a long weather delay. Boyd (0-1, 4.00 ERA) will now start one of Tuesday's games. He gave up two runs in 4 2/3 innings to Boston in his last outing. He's 4-7 with a 3.98 ERA in 16 career outings (14 starts) against Cleveland. Eduardo Rodriguez (0-2, 4.50 ERA) will start the other game for Detroit and make his first home start this season. He's pitched on the road three times this season, including a sharp performance in Toronto on Wednesday. He limited the Blue Jays to one run on seven hits in six innings but still wound up with a no-decision. Rodriguez is 2-0 with a 4.05 ERA in four career starts against the Guardians, all of which occurred when he pitched for Boston. Detroit shortstop Javy Baez will aim to build off his improved at-bats during the Giants series. Baez was benched in Toronto on Thursday for a baserunning mistake. He responded by reaching base six times in two games against San Francisco, though he's still hitting just .184 with no home runs.
04-17-23 | Rays v. Reds UNDER 9.5 | Top | 1-8 | Win | 100 | 19 h 52 m | Show |

04-16-23 | Angels v. Red Sox UNDER 9.5 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 3 h 6 m | Show |
Following a four-game losing streak, the Boston Red Sox found a way to win back-to-back games against the Los Angeles Angels to get back on track. Boston will look to keep rolling on Sunday when it plays host to the Angels in the third game of the teams' four-game series. With Saturday's 9-7 win, the Red Sox have come from behind in five of their first seven victories this season, while the team has yet to have a starting pitcher record an out in the sixth inning. "It's been tough," Boston manager Alex Cora said. "We were able to survive, but it's kind of too soon to survive, to be honest with you. We've got to be better early on. We will be." Garrett Whitlock (0-1, 9.00 ERA) hopes to shake off a tough Tuesday start at Tampa Bay with some home cooking at Fenway Park, where he is 7-2 with a 2.84 ERA in 41 career games (five starts).
04-16-23 | Twins v. Yankees -1.5 | Top | 0-2 | Win | 143 | 3 h 59 m | Show |
Gerrit Cole held the distinction of leading the major leagues in strikeouts while also allowing the second-most home runs last season. This season, Cole is off to one of the best starts of his career, partially due to his ability to avoid allowing homers. He seeks a fourth straight win Sunday afternoon when the New York Yankees attempt to get a split of a four-game series with the visiting Minnesota Twins. Cole (3-0, 1.40 ERA) has won three straight starts to begin a season for the third time in his career (2013, 2020). Last year, Cole allowed three of his 33 homers and had a 6.35 ERA through his first three outings. So far, Cole has allowed 11 hits -- no HRs -- through his first 19 1/3 innings while beating the San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies and Cleveland Guardians. After getting 19 of his 22 strikeouts in the first two outings, Cole got 10 groundball outs and struck out three over seven innings Tuesday in Cleveland. He allowed two runs in the first inning then retired 19 of the final 23 hitters.
04-15-23 | Cubs v. Dodgers UNDER 9 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 16 m | Show |
Seiya Suzuki made an immediate impact in his season debut for the Chicago Cubs, who will continue their three-game road series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday night. Out since suffering a left oblique strain during spring training, Suzuki homered in his season debut Friday as the Cubs rolled to an 8-2 victory. Yan Gomes went 3-for-4 with two home runs for Chicago, which has won six of its past eight games. Suzuki, who batted cleanup in his return, helps to lengthen a Cubs lineup that features Nico Hoerner, Dansby Swanson and Ian Happ at the top of the order. "It's exciting. It was cool to see his name in the lineup," Cubs outfielder Cody Bellinger said. "I think that brings a whole different dynamic to this lineup." Happ went 4-for-4 with a homer, three RBIs and a stolen base for Chicago, which snapped a 10-game losing streak against the Dodgers with Friday's victory. Cubs right-hander Jameson Taillon (0-2, 7.00 ERA) will take the mound on Saturday. He is seeking his first victory with his new team after giving up a total of eight runs (seven earned) over nine innings in his first two outings.
04-15-23 | Giants v. Tigers UNDER 9 | Top | 6-7 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 24 m | Show |
Lorenzen has appeared in 313 major league games, mostly with Cincinnati. He spent last season with the Los Angeles Angels, going 8-6 with a 4.24 ERA in 18 starts. He's 0-1 with a 6.35 ERA in seven career appearances, one start, vs. the Giants. The biggest issue with Lorenzen during his career has been controlled. His career strikeout-to-walk ratio is a mere 2.0. Last season, Lorenzen walked 44 batters in 97 2/3 innings. He has a seven-pitch repertoire and the Tigers signed him with the hope of making him more efficient.
04-14-23 | Mets v. A's OVER 8 | Top | 17-6 | Win | 100 | 5 h 60 m | Show |
Kodai Senga introduces his already-fabled "ghost forkball" pitch to America's West Coast when the New York Mets open a three-game interleague series against the Oakland Athletics on Friday night. Senga (2-0, 1.59 ERA) has been brilliant in his first two Major League Baseball starts after the Mets imported him from Japan in the offseason. In nearly identical performances, the 30-year-old limited the Miami Marlins to one run and three hits in 5 1/3 innings on the road in his MLB debut on April 2, then held them to one run and three hits again in six innings in his first home game last Saturday. The right-hander has struck out 14 and walked six in his 11 1/3 innings while leading the Mets to 5-1 and 5-2 wins. According to FanGraphs, which labels the pitch a splitter, Senga has thrown his signature "ghost fork" 42 times this season and it's been put into play just twice, resulting in one out and one single. Twelve of his 14 strikeouts have ended with the pitch. Senga admitted after his second start that he anticipates hitters soon will come up with a game plan for his nearly unhittable pitch: Let it go.
04-14-23 | Pirates v. Cardinals UNDER 9 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 4 h 41 m | Show |
After falling 5-0 to the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday in the series opener, the St. Louis Cardinals will try to get their offense back on track as the four-game set continues on Friday night. The Cardinals went 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left 10 runners on base as Pirates starter Vince Velasquez and three relievers limited them to six hits. Pirates outfielder Ji Hwan Bae added to St. Louis' frustration by making a catch crashing into the wall to rob Tyler O'Neill of a two-run double. The Cardinals have scored two runs or less five times during their disappointing 5-8 start, and they have a minus-8 run differential. However, manager Oliver Marmol doesn't believe his team is showing signs of trying too hard at the plate.
04-12-23 | Marlins v. Phillies -1.5 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -100 | 1 h 55 m | Show |
Edward Cabrera (0-1, 5.40 ERA) is scheduled to start Wednesday for the Marlins. Cabrera is 1-1 with a 1.64 ERA in two career starts against Philadelphia. The Phillies will look for a bounce-back performance Wednesday from their offense. After a 15-run explosion on Monday, the Phillies scored four runs Tuesday but also had another baserunning blunder. Bryson Stott was caught drifting off first as the Phillies closed within 4-3 in the sixth inning. The Phillies will hand the ball Wednesday to Zack Wheeler (0-1, 5.59 ERA). The right-hander has been very effective in his career against the Marlins, going 10-4 with a 2.41 ERA in 19 starts.
04-12-23 | Brewers +124 v. Diamondbacks | Top | 3-7 | Loss | -100 | 1 h 37 m | Show |
Dominant pitching performances by both teams resulted in the Arizona Diamondbacks and Milwaukee Brewers splitting the first two games of their series, with the rubber match taking place Wednesday at Phoenix. Arizona starter Zac Gallen struck out 11 and walked one Monday while allowing only three hits in seven innings during the Diamondbacks' 3-0 win. Milwaukee's Corbin Burnes allowed three hits with eight strikeouts and no walks in eight innings during the Brewers' 7-1 win Tuesday. In the first 15 innings of the series, Milwaukee did not score and tallied only three hits. Arizona's Tuesday starter, Merrill Kelly, held the Brewers hitless through the first six innings. The Brewers awoke with a five-run rally in the seventh inning, ignited by Willy Adames' leadoff home run. Mike Brosseau, the No. 9 batter in the lineup, also hit a two-run double in the inning and added a solo home run in the ninth inning.

04-09-23 | Reds v. Phillies UNDER 8.5 | Top | 6-4 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 3 m | Show |
The Philadelphia Phillies will look to build off Saturday's dramatic come-from-behind win when they go for a three-game series sweep against the visiting Cincinnati Reds on Sunday. Bryson Stott had the first hit off Nick Lodolo, a one-out single in the third, before his game-winning walk-off single in the ninth Saturday in the Phillies' 3-2 victory. Philadelphia scored all three of its runs in the ninth inning, and Stott has hit safely in all eight Philadelphia games this season. "We've done a lot of good things -- we've gotten a lot of hits but haven't necessarily scored, and we've pitched at times and this and that," Philadelphia's Trea Turner said. "We just have to put it all together. We played really well in all facets." In 2022, the Phillies opened 4-8 and were 21-29 at the end of May. This year, they lost five of six to start the season before winning their last two against Cincinnati.
04-08-23 | Reds v. Phillies -1.5 | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 50 m | Show |
Roger Clemens' son figures to be getting a lot more playing time for the Philadelphia Phillies as injuries have turned first base into a revolving door. The Phillies host the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday in the middle game of a weekend series after Kody Clemens was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley before Friday's series opener. Clemens, acquired in a January trade with the Detroit Tigers, made his Philadelphia debut at first base after Darick Hall was placed on the injured list and went 0-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout. Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Hall will have surgery to repair a torn UCL in his right thumb and that Clemens will start at first primarily against right-handed pitchers. Third baseman Alec Bohm will shift over and play first against left-handed starters, such as Cincinnati's Nick Lodolo (1-0, 3.60 ERA), who starts Saturday's game. Hall was filling in for Rhys Hoskins before Hoskins suffered a season-ending torn ACL in spring training.
04-08-23 | Royals +122 v. Giants | Top | 6-5 | Win | 122 | 6 h 31 m | Show |
Hoping to end the run of power displays by the Giants following losses will be Royals right-hander Brady Singer (1-0, 1.80 ERA). He will attempt to duplicate a fine effort in a 9-5 home win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday. He worked the first five innings, limiting the visitors to one run on two hits. Singer, 26, has faced the Giants just once in his four-year career, going five innings in the Royals' 6-2 loss at San Francisco on June 13, 2022. He did not get a decision after allowing two runs on two hits. Both runs off Singer in that game were walked home. He is scheduled to be opposed by left-hander Sean Manaea (0-0, 13.50 ERA), who will take his fifth crack at his former organization, this time in a third different uniform. Manaea will be making his first home start since joining the Giants as a free agent in December. He spent 2022 with the rival San Diego Padres, who picked him up in a trade from the Oakland Athletics before the season. The 31-year-old veteran pitched in relief during the Giants' season-opening trip, going two innings against the White Sox on Monday and allowed three runs and two hits. He did not get a decision in San Francisco's 12-3 win.
04-07-23 | Yankees -1.5 v. Orioles | Top | 6-7 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 20 m | Show |
The Yankees have won both of their series this season. Now comes an added challenge. New York will play its first road game at Baltimore, hoping to extend its early run of good fortune. It will be the home opener for the Orioles, which was delayed a day because of the forecast of severe inclement weather on Thursday. Friday was a scheduled off day. The Orioles split their road series to open the season, losing two of three against the Boston Red Sox before winning two of three against the Texas Rangers. For the Yankees, a good tone has been established in large part because of Gleyber Torres, who's batting .421 and has two home runs, six RBIs and five stolen bases.
04-06-23 | Blue Jays v. Royals +1.5 | Top | 6-3 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 49 m | Show |

04-05-23 | Giants v. White Sox -129 | Top | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 1 h 40 m | Show |
After holding the reigning World Series champion Houston Astros in check on Opening Day, Chicago White Sox right-hander Dylan Cease now braces for the slugging San Francisco Giants. San Francisco, which clubbed seven home runs Monday to spoil Chicago's home opener, will look to stay hot as the series continues Wednesday following an open date. "I think it was just continuing to get our 'A' swings off," Giants third baseman David Villar said. "The important thing for us is continuing to get those really good swings off and not being hesitant about making them. If we're going to make a swing, let's make it with intent. I think that really showed [Monday], one through nine." Villar led the surge from the No. 6 hole, homering twice while collecting five RBIs. He had one of the team's four fifth-inning home runs against White Sox starter Michael Kopech. Cease (0-0, 1.42 ERA) stands in San Francisco's way after limiting the Astros to one run and two hits in 6 1/3 innings Thursday. The runner-up in the 2022 American League Cy Young race, Cease walked zero while fanning 10, matching Jack McDowell's 1991 club record for most strikeouts in the season opener.
04-05-23 | Orioles v. Rangers UNDER 8 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 1 h 42 m | Show |
All eyes will be on the starting pitchers Wednesday as the Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles close out a three-game series in Arlington, Texas. Two-time Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom is scheduled to make his second start for the Rangers, while Orioles top pitching prospect Grayson Rodriguez was called up Wednesday morning make his major league debut. It's likely Rodriguez will have a crowd of family and friend in the stands. He won a state 3A championship at Central Heights High School in Nacogdoches, Texas -- about a three-hour drive from Arlington. And they'll also see the Orioles going for a sweep and their ninth straight victory over the Rangers dating back to last July. Texas, meanwhile, is hoping to find its way back to the winning side behind its ace. deGrom (0-0, 12.27 ERA), who joined the Rangers on a five-year, $185 million contract in the offseason, had a rough debut against the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday. He allowed five runs and a career-high six extra-base hits over just 3 2/3 innings, though Texas went on to win 11-7.
04-04-23 | Phillies v. Yankees OVER 8.5 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 48 m | Show |
Through four games, the New York Yankees are off to a good start thanks to their power hitting. The Philadelphia Phillies, on the other hand, are winless in four games, unable to get clutch hits and prevent opponents from scoring often. New York looks to maintain its early power surge on Tuesday night when it hosts the winless Phillies in the middle game of a three-game series. The Yankees have hit multiple homers in their first four games of a season for the first time since 2011. After Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Judge and Kyle Higashioka connected on Sunday in a 6-0 blanking of the visiting San Francisco Giants, Gleyber Torres hit a solo homer and Anthony Rizzo hit a two-run blast in a five-run fifth Monday as New York cruised to an 8-1 rout of the Phillies in the series opener.
04-04-23 | Twins +1.5 v. Marlins | Top | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 56 m | Show |
To oppose Alcantara, the Twins will start right-hander Kenta Maeda. In five career appearances (four starts) against the Marlins, he is 1-2 with a 2.28 ERA. After going 6-1 with a 2.70 ERA to finish second in voting for the AL Cy Young Award in the COVID-shortened 2020 season, Maeda had a lackluster 2021 before missing all of last season due to Tommy John surgery. Tuesday marks his first start since Aug. 21, 2021. Maeda will hope to get offensive support from Joey Gallo. The first baseman off to a 4-for-13 (.308) start to the season with three homers and seven RBIs. Gallo also has a double and four runs.

04-02-23 | Orioles v. Red Sox -133 | Top | 5-9 | Win | 100 | 3 h 37 m | Show |
The Boston Red Sox have already shown great resilience two games into 2023. A pair of late-inning rallies have resulted in a win and a close loss, giving Boston the opportunity to win its opening series against the visiting Baltimore Orioles on Sunday afternoon. "That was crazy," manager Alex Cora said. "But like I've been saying, offensively, we do believe this is going to happen. We're going to move the line. We're going to keep grinding." What was crazy was the end to Boston's 9-8 win on Saturday. It ended with a most improbable walk-off. A dropped fly ball offered on what should have been the third out offered the Red Sox a second life, and Adam Duvall took full advantage, socking a two-run home run over the Green Monster. The Red Sox overcame their largest deficit to win since 2019 after falling into a 7-1 hole after 2 1/2 innings. Led by Duvall (4-for-5, two homers, five RBIs), Boston tallied double-digit hit totals for the second straight game. Boston pitcher Tanner Houck looks to pick up where he left off in 2022, setting career-high marks in wins (five), appearances (32) and saves (eight). He didn't pitch after Aug. 2 due to a back injury.
04-01-23 | Brewers v. Cubs UNDER 6.5 | Top | 3-1 | Win | 104 | 4 h 20 m | Show |
Milwaukee is looking to bounce back after being held to four singles and five walks in the opener. Brewers right-hander Brandon Woodruff (13-4, 3.05 ERA in 2022) will take the mound against Cubs left-hander Justin Steele (4-7, 3.18). Woodruff, 30, is 2-2 with a 3.27 ERA in 16 career appearances (14 starts) against the Cubs, including 1-2 with a 3.68 ERA in nine career games (seven starts) at Wrigley Field. The two-time All-Star has a 2.79 ERA and 401 strikeouts in 57 starts across 332 2/3 innings over the last two seasons. Steele, 27, is hoping to build on his success from last season, when he started 24 games and recorded 126 strikeouts over 119 innings. Steele is 1-2 with a 2.70 ERA in 10 career appearances (eight starts) against Milwaukee, including 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA in four starts at Wrigley Field.

03-30-23 | Diamondbacks v. Dodgers UNDER 7.5 | Top | 2-8 | Loss | -120 | 17 h 54 m | Show |
It will be a decade-long playoff participant against a team in a half-decade postseason drought Thursday when the Los Angeles Dodgers play host to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Opening Day. Despite vast differences in the standings in recent seasons, both squads share certain similarities. High-upside youngsters will take the field for both teams, while the closer spot appears to be a work in progress for each. They are each likely to have strong outfield defenses. While the Diamondbacks hope to continue the upward trajectory that started last season, the Dodgers are out to prove they still are one of baseball's top teams after a franchise-record 111 regular-season victories in 2022. But with staff ace Walker Buehler expected to miss most of the season after Tommy John surgery, shortstop Trea Turner departing for a free-agent deal with the Philadelphia Phillies and his replacement, Gavin Lux, out for the season with a knee injury, Los Angeles' intimidating exterior appears to have some weak spots. The Dodgers will see what they can get from Trayce Thompson and 25-year-old rookie James Outman in center field, while rookie Miguel Vargas, 23, takes over at second base after never playing there as a minor leaguer and veteran Miguel Rojas starts at short. The Dodgers will need plenty from veteran All-Stars like Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman at the top of the order, and Max Muncy in the cleanup spot after showing this spring that he is ready to rebound from a season that fell below expectations.
03-30-23 | Giants +1.5 v. Yankees | Top | 0-5 | Loss | -133 | 8 h 56 m | Show |
For a few weeks during the offseason, an awkward possibility existed of Aaron Judge wearing the uniform of the San Francisco Giants and lining up along the visiting baseline while getting introduced to fans at Yankee Stadium. Instead, Judge re-signed with the New York Yankees, and the slugger will be officially introduced as the 16th captain in team history Thursday afternoon in New York's home opener against the Giants. After hitting 62 homers to break Roger Maris' single-season American League home run record, Judge spent a little over a month in free agency and the Giants were among the teams vying for his services. The Giants made such an effort to lure the California native that they reportedly offered him a $360 million contract. After a phone call from managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner, Judge was retained by the Yankees on a nine-year, $360 million deal. And when Judge's new contract was official, the Yankees also named him as the team's first captain since Derek Jeter retired following the 2014 season. Judge will take the field with a shortstop drawing comparisons to Jeter when top prospect Anthony Volpe makes his major league debut. Sportsbooks consider Volpe a favorite for AL Rookie of the Year and is expected to bat ninth after officially being told Sunday he was making the Opening Day roster.
11-02-22 | Astros v. Phillies UNDER 7.5 | Top | 5-0 | Win | 100 | 6 h 49 m | Show |
After a record-tying power surge gave the Phillies a 2-1 World Series lead, Philadelphia will look to ride its distinct homefield edge to another win over the Houston Astros in Game 4 on Wednesday. The Phillies improved to 6-0 at home in the postseason with a 7-0 victory on Tuesday. The rout featured five Philadelphia home runs -- one each by Bryce Harper, Alec Bohm, Kyle Schwarber, Brandon Marsh and Rhys Hoskins -- matching the single-game mark for the Fall Classic. The Phillies players and manager Rob Thomson credit the sellout crowds of nearly 46,000 as a major reason for their home success. "They're like the Eagles (fans)," Thomson said of the Phillies fans. "They get better every game. It was really something. It was really good." The Phillies will bring back their Game 1 starter, Aaron Nola (11-13, 3.25 ERA regular season; 2-1, 4.57 postseason), for Game 4. The move became an option when Game 3 was rained out on Monday and moved to Tuesday, so Nola will be on the standard four days' rest. After two stellar playoff outings in which he gave up just one run, which was unearned, in 12 2/3 innings, Nola has surrendered 11 runs in nine innings over his past two starts. Nola doesn't believe that he's tired.
11-01-22 | Astros v. Phillies OVER 7.5 | Top | 0-7 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 3 m | Show |
As the weather forecast worsened throughout Monday, Major League Baseball decided to postpone Game 3 of the World Series. Shortly after a 6:45 p.m. ET meeting, the game between the Houston Astros and the host Philadelphia Phillies was postponed. Game 3 will now be played Tuesday starting at 8:03 p.m. ET. After earning a split in the first two games, the Phillies returned home to wet conditions. The raucous crowd of nearly 46,000 will now be waiting 24 hours longer. "It's going to be fair for everybody," Phillies manager Rob Thomson said. With the extra day, the Phillies altered their pitching plans for Game 3. Instead of Noah Syndergaard, the Phillies will now hand the ball to Ranger Suarez (10-7, 3.65 ERA regular season; 1-0, 1.86 postseason). Whether Suarez is closing a game or being inserted as a starter in the World Series, he's ready.
10-11-22 | Padres v. Dodgers UNDER 7.5 | Top | 3-5 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 58 m | Show |
For their latest playoff appearance, the Los Angeles Dodgers prepped with one of the best regular seasons in baseball history, sending them racing downhill into a meeting with a familiar foe. The Dodgers' 10th playoff appearance in 10 seasons begins Tuesday in Game 1 of the National League Division Series when they play host to the San Diego Padres. In an impressive showing during the NL wild-card round, the Padres took down the 101-win New York Mets. "There's going to be a lot of emotions," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. "It's going to be exciting, not only for players and fans, it's going to be a very intense series." The Dodgers set a franchise record for regular-season victories (111) and are just the seventh club in baseball history to win as many as 110 games. Of the previous six clubs to do it, five advanced to the World Series and three won a title. The most recent to do so were the 2001 Seattle Mariners, who won 116 games but fell to the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series.
10-07-22 | Phillies v. Cardinals -102 | Top | 6-3 | Loss | -102 | 1 h 49 m | Show |
After dominating the St. Louis Cardinals during the regular season, Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Zack Wheeler wants to capitalize on his postseason opportunity against them. Wheeler (12-7, 2.82 ERA) will draw his first career playoff assignment in Game 1 of the National League Wild Card Series Friday in St. Louis. "That's where it all counts, right?" Wheeler said. "That's where you want to get to. That's what you battle for the whole season, to get to that point. I want to go out there and do the best I can." The Phillies will make their first postseason appearance since 2011.
10-04-22 | Diamondbacks -115 v. Brewers | Top | 0-3 | Loss | -115 | 4 h 60 m | Show |
After a disappointing end to their faint wild-card hopes, the Milwaukee Brewers will have to regroup against Arizona ace right-hander Zac Gallen in the second game of the season-ending series against the visiting Diamondbacks on Tuesday. Gallen (12-3, 2.46 ERA) will be opposed by Milwaukee left-hander Eric Lauer (10-7, 3.83). The Brewers rallied to win 6-5 in 10 innings in the series opener on Monday night, but they were eliminated from postseason contention due to Philadelphia's 3-0 victory at Houston. Milwaukee needed to win its final three games against Arizona and have the Phillies lose all three against the Astros. Milwaukee (85-75) rallied to tie it 4-4 with three runs in the ninth. After Arizona went ahead in the top of the 10th, the Brewers came back on RBI singles by Willy Adames and Hunter Renfroe. However, the euphoria was short-lived as news of the Phillies' victory followed quickly. Milwaukee will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2017.
09-30-22 | Pirates v. Cardinals -1.5 | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 47 m | Show |
Pitcher Johan Oviedo will get his first chance to face his old team when the Pittsburgh Pirates visit the St. Louis Cardinals Friday. Oviedo (4-2, 3.13 ERA) will start for Pittsburgh in the opener of a three-game series. The Cardinals (90-66) sent Oviedo and infield prospect Malcom Nunez to the Pirates (59-97) for pitchers Jose Quintana and Chris Stratton before the trade deadline. Oviedo is 2-1 with a 3.05 ERA in five starts for the Pirates. In his last outing, Oviedo blanked the Chicago Cubs for seven innings on three hits in a 6-0 victory. He walked nobody and struck out seven batters.
09-30-22 | Mets v. Braves +111 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 111 | 10 h 42 m | Show |
For the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves, the first 156 games of the regular season were just the opening act for this weekend. The National League East may be decided beginning Friday in Atlanta, where the Mets are slated to visit the Braves in the opener of a three-game series. Right-hander Jacob deGrom (5-3, 2.93 ERA) is slated to start for the Mets against left-hander Max Fried (13-7, 2.50). Both teams were off Thursday after a pair of chaotic games against NL East also-rans Wednesday night that ended with the Mets alone atop the division. Host New York overcame a four-run deficit thanks to Eduardo Escobar, who capped a five-RBI evening with a walk-off 10th-inning single in a 5-4 win over the Miami Marlins. Escobar delivered the game-winning hit fewer than 20 minutes after the Washington Nationals' C.J. Abrams laced a walk-off RBI single to give the hosts a 2-1 win over the Braves. The Mets (98-58) are one game ahead of the Braves (97-59). The division winner earns the second first-round bye while the second-place finisher will head to a wild-card series scheduled to start Oct. 7 -- two days after the regular-season finale.
09-30-22 | Phillies -1.5 v. Nationals | Top | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 4 h 54 m | Show |
The remnants of Hurricane Ian that are forecasted to bring inclement weather to the Washington, D.C. area changed the schedule of the Washington Nationals four-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies this weekend. The teams will open the series with a doubleheader on Friday, with the first game starting at 1:05 p.m. ET, after a doubleheader was originally planned for Saturday. They will play Friday's scheduled game at 7:05 p.m., with Saturday's lone game set for 1:05 p.m. and Sunday's finale scheduled for 1:35 p.m. The Phillies (83-72), who are locked in a tight race with the Milwaukee Brewers for the final National League wild-card spot, have defeated the Nationals (54-101) eight straight times and in 13 of their 15 meetings this year. Philadelphia, however, has lost five straight games and 10 of its past 13 after falling 2-0 to the host Chicago Cubs on Thursday.
09-29-22 | Rays -115 v. Guardians | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -115 | 4 h 7 m | Show |
Cleveland Guardians right-hander Cal Quantrill will face the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday looking to make a bit of history. Quantrill will seek to remain perfect at home when he and his teammates close a three-game series against the visiting Rays. With Cleveland locked into the No. 3 spot among the American League's division winners, Rays manager Kevin Cash thought the Guardians might take a different tack in the series.
09-28-22 | Royals v. Tigers -130 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 12 h 4 m | Show |
Matt Manning (2-3, 3.43 ERA) didn't walk anyone when he threw seven shutout innings against the Chicago White Sox in his previous start, on Sept. 16. He faced the Royals twice last month -- most recently on Sept. 10, when he gave up three runs (two earned) in 6 1/3 innings while notching his second victory. He'll be opposed by Daniel Lynch (4-11, 5.06), who has struggled in three outings against Detroit this season. Lynch is 0-1 with an 8.53 ERA in those games while allowing 12 earned runs in 12 2/3 innings, including four home runs. Willi Castro has been a thorn in Lynch's side with six hits in 11 at-bats against the left-hander, including three extra-base hits. The last time Lynch faced the Tigers, he gave up homers to Eric Haase and Jeimer Candelario while getting pounded for six runs and 10 hits in 3 2/3 innings.
09-28-22 | Reds v. Pirates OVER 8 | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 2 m | Show |
The Pittsburgh Pirates have the visiting Cincinnati Reds somewhat on the ropes going into the final meeting of a three-game series on Wednesday in what will be the final time both teams see each other this season. Pittsburgh (58-97) will be going for a series sweep and a seventh straight win against Cincinnati (60-95). The Pirates will also try to move a step closer to passing the Reds in the National League Central standings as they try to claw their way out of the basement of the division. Pittsburgh won the opener 8-3 before winning 4-1 on Tuesday to at least clinch the series.
09-27-22 | Dodgers -1.5 v. Padres | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 16 h 28 m | Show |
The Los Angeles Dodgers and host San Diego Padres, two teams with different priorities in the stretch run, square off on Tuesday to open their final head-to-head series of the regular season. For the Padres, the goal is clear: Reach the postseason as a wild card. As it stands right now, they would do just that. San Diego (85-68) currently holds the second of three National League wild-card berths and is three games ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers (82-71), who sit just outside the playoff picture behind the Philadelphia Phillies (83-69). The Padres' magic number is six, and they have an added edge with all nine of their remaining regular-season games at home. The Dodgers (106-47) clinched the No. 1 seed for the NL playoffs with their 106th win on Sunday. What are they playing for? Total domination -- and history. They have matched the single-season franchise record for wins, and a victory on Tuesday would set a new mark.
09-27-22 | Reds v. Pirates OVER 7 | Top | 1-4 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 29 m | Show |
The Pittsburgh Pirates have two more head-to-head meetings with the visiting Cincinnati Reds as they try to claw their way out of the National League Central cellar. In the opener of the teams' final series this year, the Pirates came back from an early two-run deficit to top the Reds 8-3 on Monday. That left the magic number for Cincinnati (60-94) to hold off Pittsburgh (57-97) and finish out of last place in the division at six. Both clubs also are striving to finish out of last in the NL, with the Washington Nationals (53-100) the, uh, front-runner there. At this late stage, the Pirates -- who had lost nine of 10 before Monday -- are looking toward the future. That not only pertains to several rookies and other young players who have gotten a chance to play this year, but also to new acquisitions. On Monday, the focus was on designated hitter Miguel Andujar, who made his Pittsburgh debut after being snatched off waivers from the New York Yankees. Andujar has a higher pedigree than most of the players who have come and gone from the Pirates' roster this season. He turned heads in his first full major league season in 2018, finishing second in American League Rookie of the Year balloting, but then had injury setbacks and got lost in the Yankees' organization. In the Monday win over Cincinnati, Andujar singled, walked, scored a run and picked up an RBI with a sacrifice fly.
09-26-22 | Orioles +115 v. Red Sox | Top | 14-8 | Win | 115 | 13 h 38 m | Show |
The Baltimore Orioles picked the wrong time to squander a couple of chances to win key games. That leads to a more heightened sense of urgency moving forward for a team that's four games out of the third and final wild card in the American League. The next assignment comes against the host Boston Red Sox on Monday night in the opener of a four-game series. The Orioles (79-73) had won three in a row until a pair of tough results to conclude a four-game home series with the Houston Astros. Baltimore failed to protect a lead in an 11-10 setback Saturday and then fell 6-3 in 11 innings Sunday. Manager Brandon Hyde said those were disappointing outcomes because the Orioles "should have won" those games. Yet while the Orioles split the series with the AL-leading Astros, there was a degree of pride coming from the way they performed.
09-25-22 | Mets v. A's OVER 7 | Top | 13-4 | Win | 103 | 5 h 12 m | Show |
Right-hander Max Scherzer will make a rare appearance at one of the many sites of his postseason success when he tries to pitch the visiting New York Mets to a series win over the Athletics on Sunday afternoon in Oakland. The first two head-to-heads of the season between the team with the second-best record in the National League (96-57) and the one with the worst record in the American League (56-96) were blowouts, with the Mets taking the opener 9-2 on Friday before the A's shocked Jacob deGrom in a 10-4 shellacking in the rematch. Suffice it to say, Oakland manager Mark Kotsay would like to see more of the same as Saturday's performance as his team continues a fight to avoid a 100-loss season.
09-24-22 | Giants v. Diamondbacks -108 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 46 m | Show |
Merrill Kelly will attempt to continue his season-long domination of San Francisco hitters when the Arizona Diamondbacks face the Giants on Saturday night at Phoenix. Kelly is 2-0 with a 1.27 ERA in four starts against San Francisco this season. He has struck out 24 and allowed just 14 hits in 28 1/3 innings. Kelly didn't give up a run in his last two outings against the Giants. He gave up three hits in eight scoreless innings in a victory on July 25. Kelly allowed four hits in seven scoreless innings on Aug. 16 but he received a no-decision when Ian Kennedy served up a two-run walk-off homer to Brandon Crawford in the bottom of the ninth. Overall, Kelly is 5-3 with a 2.56 ERA in 14 career starts against San Francisco (74-77), which has won five straight games after recording a 6-5 win in the series opener on Friday. Arizona (70-82) has lost seven of nine. Kelly (12-7, 3.15 ERA) went 6-0 over a 12-start span before troubles surfaced over his last three outings. He is 0-2 with a 6.00 ERA and seven homers allowed during the 18-inning stretch.
09-22-22 | Diamondbacks v. Dodgers -1.5 | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 59 m | Show |
Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Julio Urias will turn in some final prep work in advance of next month's playoffs, while attempting to help his Cy Young Award cause, when he takes the mound against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday. Expected to be the club's No. 1 starter when the postseason begins, Urias (17-7, 2.27 ERA) will be out to continue an impressive second half that has eased concerns surrounding the National League West champions. The Dodgers lost staff ace, Walker Buehler, earlier this season to Tommy John surgery, while veteran left-hander Clayton Kershaw has been off and on the injured list with back issues. So Urias moved himself to the head of the rotation, thanks to a 9-1 record with a 1.31 ERA since the All-Star break. He leads the NL in ERA. Urias now has a chance to record consecutive 20-win seasons after reaching the milestone for the first time last season. He remains in line for three more starts before the regular season is complete. In his most recent outing Saturday at San Francisco, Urias gave up two runs on five hits over six innings as the Dodgers went on to a 7-2 victory.
09-21-22 | Diamondbacks v. Dodgers OVER 8.5 | Top | 6-1 | Loss | -120 | 8 h 11 m | Show |
The matchup does not quite conjure up the magic that it used to, but there remains something rich about Madison Bumgarner facing the Los Angeles Dodgers. Bumgarner's matchups with the Dodgers, back when he was a starter for the San Francisco Giants, always carried an extra bit of weight. Now in his third season with the Arizona Diamondbacks (69-80), the left-hander has been a division foe of the Dodgers for 14 years. Bumgarner (6-15, 5.01 ERA) will be facing Los Angeles for the 40th time in his career when he takes the mound Wednesday at Dodger Stadium for the fourth game in an extended five-game series. His 2.93 ERA against the Dodgers has come in a hefty 245 1/3 innings. The 33-year-old is coming off an outing Friday against the San Diego Padres when he gave up five runs on eight hits in five innings. It was the seventh time in his past nine starts that an opponent scored at least five runs against him. He has a 7.82 ERA and 0-6 record in that nine-game run. Despite recent adjustments on the mound, Bumgarner's struggles continued.
09-20-22 | Red Sox -1.5 v. Reds | Top | 5-3 | Win | 141 | 7 h 53 m | Show |
Xander Bogaerts' future with the Boston Red Sox may be uncertain, but he certainly has goals to achieve as his team plays out the string of an underachieving season. Bogaerts has his sights on his first career batting title and he'll continue his pursuit of the milestone when the Red Sox open a two-game set against the host Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night. Bogaerts entered Monday's play with a .316 average, which was tied for second in the American League with Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees. Luis Arraez of the Minnesota Twins has a league-best .317 average. Bogaerts said the batting title race will keep him focused down the stretch of a lackluster season for Boston (71-75).
09-19-22 | Diamondbacks v. Dodgers -1.5 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 2 h 57 m | Show |
The Los Angeles Dodgers return home Monday as National League West champions, facing the Arizona Diamondbacks in the opener of an extended five-game series, which also is the start of an eight-game homestand. When the teams met at Arizona on Tuesday, the Dodgers earned a 4-0 victory to wrap up their ninth division title in the past 10 seasons. A day later, though, Los Angeles' main weakness was exposed when closer Craig Kimbrel gave up a game-ending home run to the Diamondbacks' Sergio Alcantara. Kimbrel has been on a rocky ride in his first season as the Dodgers' closer, blowing five saves, getting tagged with a loss six times and posting a 3.96 ERA in 52 1/3 innings. Other late-inning relief options like right-handers Blake Treinen and Brusdar Graterol have struggled with injuries. With the playoffs fast approaching, the Dodgers remain in search of answers for the back end of their bullpen. Despite the bullpen troubles, the Dodgers not only clinched the division title, they also reached the 100-win mark Saturday with a victory at San Francisco. Los Angeles has won at least 100 games in each of the past three full seasons and four times in the last five full seasons.
09-18-22 | Dodgers v. Giants UNDER 7.5 | Top | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 6 h 57 m | Show |
Having checked off two boxes, the Los Angeles Dodgers will continue pursuit of a third when they wrap up their season series against the San Francisco Giants with one last game at their rival's home on Sunday. Having already clinched the National League West, the Dodgers (100-44) became a 100-game winner Saturday night with a 7-2 victory behind a 13-hit attack and a 17th win from left-hander Julio Urias. The next goal for Los Angeles would be to finish the regular season with the best record in the NL, which would assure it of the home-field advantage through the league playoffs. The Dodgers have a 9 1/2-game lead over the New York Mets (92-55) in that race with 18 games remaining. If the Dodgers are going to add to their win total in the series finale, they're going to have to do it against one of the Giants' hottest pitchers, Alex Cobb (6-6, 3.48). The right-hander has pitched seven innings of shutout ball against two of his past three opponents, including the Atlanta Braves in a 3-2 home win on Monday. He's pitched in 7-4, 3-0 and 7-3 losses to Los Angeles this season -- he was charged with just one loss -- in his first three career outings against the rival, compiling a 5.51 ERA in those games despite having had success against Trea Turner (2-for-13) and Freddie Freeman (2-for-12).
09-17-22 | Mariners v. Angels OVER 7 | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -102 | 9 h 47 m | Show |
Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani will be on the mound against the Seattle Mariners on Saturday in Anaheim, Calif., one week removed from being lifted from a game because of a blister on his finger. Ohtani gave up one run and struck out seven through five innings against the Houston Astros last Saturday. When he threw a couple of warm-up pitches before the start of the sixth, however, the blister on his right index finger bothered him enough to convince Angels interim manager Phil Nevin to take him out.
09-15-22 | Padres v. Diamondbacks OVER 9 | Top | 0-4 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 30 m | Show |
The San Diego Padres currently possess the National League's third wild-card spot, but they continue to have trouble creating distance from the Milwaukee Brewers. The Padres, who have dropped three of their past four games, aim to start a sprint to the finish when they face the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday night in the opener of a four-game series at Phoenix. San Diego (78-65) stands two games ahead of the Brewers (76-67) after both clubs lost their Wednesday games. The Padres fell 6-1 to the Seattle Mariners for a split of the two-game set. San Diego is 11-4 against Arizona, which presents an opportunity for the Padres to begin a difference-making burst.
09-15-22 | Phillies -125 v. Marlins | Top | 3-5 | Loss | -125 | 4 h 35 m | Show |
The Philadelphia Phillies -- perhaps without first baseman Rhys Hoskins -- will shoot for a three-game sweep of the host Miami Marlins on Thursday night. Hoskins suffered a bruise on his right hand when he was hit by a pitch from Edward Cabrera in the third inning on Wednesday. X-rays were negative. Even so, the Phillies (80-62) went on to win their fifth consecutive game. Former Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto victimized his former team with two homers and four RBIs in a 6-1 victory. The Phillies, who hold the second of three National League wild-card positions, have won 10 of their past 12 meetings with the Marlins. Miami won the teams' first head-to-head series this year, taking three out of four games at home in mid-April, but the Phillies have dominated since then.
09-14-22 | Dodgers v. Diamondbacks UNDER 9 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 2 h 15 m | Show |
The Diamondbacks have dropped six of their past seven games. Arizona has yet to score a run in the series and has just eight hits. You have two pitchers who's numbers would indicate and over is on the horizon but I anticipate both touching quality starts.
09-13-22 | Angels v. Guardians UNDER 8 | Top | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 4 h 20 m | Show |
Cody Morris will take the mound for the host Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Angels, though for a brief moment not long ago, Morris wasn't so sure he would be in the major leagues at this point. Morris (0-1, 3.00 ERA) spent most of the year dealing with a shoulder strain before pitching for Triple-A Columbus in August. After three starts and three relief appearances with the Clippers, he was called into Clippers manager Andy Tracy's office. As a prank, Tracy told Morris the plan for the rest of the season was to get him stretched out, but he'd be doing it in Class-A ball. "I was like, 'What?' I couldn't believe it," Morris said. "He was like, 'Make sure to stop at Progressive Field on your way in, that's where you're going.' " Tuesday's start will be Morris' third with the Guardians (74-65). He gave up three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks in just two innings of a start against Seattle on Sept. 2.
