A team has led the league in both categories in the same season three times previously with two of those being by the Mavs (1984-85 & 1985-86, also Knicks 2012-13).Luka Doncic is currently averaging 32.0+ points, 8.0+ rebounds and 8.0+ assists per game for the second consecutive season. Under normal circumstances, shooting 34.4 percent from the floor while committing 16 turnovers makes for a lamentable evening, but the Houston Rockets were again saved by their defense and rebounding on Monday. The Rockets will seek to extend their home-court winning streak to 11 games on Wednesday against the Memphis Grizzlies following their 93-82 win over the San Antonio Spurs. They held the Spurs to a season-low point total while winning with their lowest point total in seven years. Before Monday, Houston had lost 52 of its last 53 games when scoring fewer than 100 points. This current iteration of the Rockets features the second-best defense in the NBA according to defensive rating, allowing 108.2 points per 100 possessions. That ability to shackle the opposition has proven to be the salve needed on nights when shots aren't falling with regularity. The Rockets also posted a plus-nine rebounding margin against the Spurs, marking the seventh time in the last nine games Houston has outrebounded its opponent. The Rockets improved to 7-3 in such games this season behind Tari Eason grabbing a career-high 14 boards off the bench while Alperen Sengun, 17th in the NBA in rebounding, matched his season average with nine. |

Hornets v. Heat -7.5 | Top | 104-115 |
Win | 100 | 10 h 54 m | Show |
At just past the quarter pole of the NBA season, the Miami Heat have already lost four games during which they led by at least 16 points. On Wednesday night against the visiting Charlotte Hornets, the Miami Heat will try to grab a lead and keep it -- easier said than accomplished in the NBA. On Monday in Charlotte, the Heat led by as many as 14 points but had to hold on for a 116-114 win. Charlotte's Terry Rozier, who made eight 3-pointers and scored a game-high 34 points, nearly won the game with a half-court shot that bounced off the backboard at the buzzer. Perhaps there's a reason for those struggles as the Heat are playing without their top two scorers: Tyler Herro (ankle injury) missed his 15th straight game on Monday, and Bam Adebayo (hip) has missed six of Miami's past nine contests. Herro averaged 22.9 points through eight games, and Adebayo is averaging 22.3. The one healthy member of Miami's "Big Three" is Jimmy Butler, who is averaging 21.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.2 steals. |

Warriors v. Suns -3 | | 116-119 |
Push | 0 | 12 h 50 m | Show |
The Golden State Warriors are once again experiencing difficulties winning on the road. The Warriors are saddled with a five-game road losing streak and will look to halt it on Tuesday night when they visit the Phoenix Suns. The recent struggles are reminiscent of last season, when Golden State was 11-30 on the road. Only three teams had worse road records. Golden State will look to end this season's slide when it takes on Phoenix, which hopes to have Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker on the floor together for the first time. Beal is slated to play Tuesday for just the fourth time this season and first since Nov. 12. He has been plagued by back problems and has sat out the past 12 games. Durant (ankle) is listed as questionable and missed the Suns' 114-106 home loss to the Sacramento Kings on Friday. He was limited in Monday's non-contact practice. Beal was acquired from the Washington Wizards in the offseason to form a trio with Booker and Durant. But Beal and Booker have yet to play in the same game this season while Beal has played in just three games with Durant. |

Duke has won its last 23 home games against unranked nonconference foes, yet the No. 21 Blue Devils do not figure to take their next one lightly when Hofstra visits Durham, N.C. With the memories of a rough week still vivid and an upset-happy team ready to step on Duke's home floor, Duke will not need a reminder of the potential perils of looking beyond Hofstra. The Blue Devils will complete a two-game homestand Tuesday night, when they host the defending Coastal Athletic Association regular-season champion in the first meeting between the schools in men's basketball. Both teams have been off since Saturday, when Duke snapped a two-game losing streak by beating Charlotte 80-56 and Hofstra squandered an 11-point first half lead and fell 71-68 to host Saint Louis. The wire-to-wire win represented a return to form for Duke (6-3), which was coming off single-digit road losses to Arkansas and ACC rival Georgia Tech. The Blue Devils had four players score in double figures Saturday while 7-footer Kyle Filipowski collected 13 rebounds and had a team-high four assists. |

The Philadelphia 76ers will look for their third straight victory when they host the reeling Washington Wizards on Monday. While the Sixers have been winning recently, there's cause for concern regarding reigning Most Valuable Player Joel Embiid. Late in the Sixers' 125-114 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday, Embiid appeared to tweak his left knee after taking an awkward step on a drive to the basket. Embiid had 38 points and 14 rebounds but was noticeably limping at the end. Embiid participated in practice Sunday and is listed as questionable for Monday. Tyrese Maxey continued his strong play for the Sixers with 30 points, seven assists and zero turnovers. |

LeBron James has been a superstar for two decades while Tyrese Haliburton is a newbie to star status. Haliburton certainly looks comfortable in the role and will lead the Indiana Pacers against the James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the championship game of the NBA's in-season tournament on Saturday night at Las Vegas. Both clubs are 6-0 in the in-season tournament, each going 4-0 in group play before posting two knockout-round wins. Each player on Saturday's winning team will earn $500,000, while the players on the runner-up side each will receive $200,000. But there is more than money at stake for the Pacers, a feel-good story over the first quarter of the NBA season. Indiana hasn't reached the playoffs since the 2019-20 season and is looking to take a major step upward. The Pacers view the title game as that jumpstart. |

The Brooklyn Nets probably would prefer to win a game without 43 lead changes but feel reassured Mikal Bridges can deliver winning plays in the final minutes. After following up a 42-point performance with a game-winning basket, Bridges and the Nets will attempt to go three games over .500 for the first time this season when they host the Washington Wizards on Friday in New York. Since losing three straight to Miami, Philadelphia and Atlanta Nov. 16-22, the Nets are 5-1 in their past six games. The only thing keeping them from a six-game winning streak was allowing 21 3-pointers in a 129-128 loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Nov. 30. Feeling disappointed with the loss to Charlotte, Bridges has significantly helped the Nets to their past two wins. He scored 26 of his 42 in the first quarter of Saturday's 129-101 rout over the Orlando Magic, then came through immensely down the stretch of a wild 114-113 victory in Atlanta Wednesday. |

The Philadelphia 76ers will hope to ride the momentum of Joel Embiid's 50-point performance into their game against the visiting Atlanta Hawks on Friday. Embiid, who missed the previous two games due to illness, racked up the sixth 50-point game of his career despite not feeling 100 percent in a 131-126 road win against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. Having the reigning NBA MVP available is always a huge advantage for the Sixers. Tyrese Maxey returned from a one-game absence to score 26 points. Kelly Oubre Jr. had 12 in his first game since sustaining a broken rib and other undisclosed injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Nov. 11. Despite that, I think this is too many points |

The Indiana Pacers' improbable run through the inaugural NBA in-season tournament continues Thursday night when they attempt to take down the Eastern Conference's top seed, the Milwaukee Bucks, in the semifinals at Las Vegas. The New Orleans Pelicans will face the Los Angeles Lakers in the West semifinal later Thursday, with the two winners advancing to the tournament final on Saturday night. The Pacers, who are the NBA's highest scoring team at 128.4 points per game, have topped 120 points in all five of their tournament games, sweeping through their pool with four consecutive wins before eliminating the Boston Celtics 122-112 at home in the quarterfinals Monday. Indiana bombarded the visiting Celtics with 19 makes from 3-point range, with Tyrese Haliburton (five), Buddy Hield (four) and Bennedict Mathurin (four) combining for more than the entire Boston team (12). The Pacers hit 47.5 percent (19-for-40) from beyond the arc. Thursday's game is a rematch of one of the NBA's most entertaining regular-season contests to date, a 126-124 Pacers home win on Nov. 9 in which they overcame a 54-point performance by Milwaukee star Giannis Antetokounmpo. |

Blazers v. Warriors -12.5 | | 106-110 |
Loss | -110 | 10 h 5 m | Show |
The Portland Trail Blazers and Golden State Warriors have an opportunity to get well acquainted when they meet for the first of three times in 18 days Wednesday night in San Francisco. The West Coast rivals were scheduled to duel just three times this season, including just once in San Francisco. But the inaugural NBA in-season tournament caused regular-season schedule changes this week, with each of the teams eliminated in the group phase required to take on games Wednesday and Friday. The Warriors have dominated the Trail Blazers in recent years, winning six of seven over the past two seasons and five in a row at home over the past three seasons. The home wins have come by an average of 12.8 points. The last time the clubs met, the Warriors put up 55 points in the first quarter of a 157-101 shellacking in Portland last April. The Trail Blazers were without Damian Lillard, Anfernee Simons and Jerami Grant at the time. All three could be missing again in the rematch eight months later. Lillard has been dealt to the Milwaukee Bucks; Simons suffered ligament damage in his right thumb in the preseason and has yet to play this year; and Grant has entered concussion protocol after getting hit in the head Saturday in a game against the Utah Jazz. Simons and Grant could be back by Friday, but they are considered questionable at best for the trip to Golden State. Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups hasn't given up hope of seeing Simons in action in San Francisco after watching him practice this week. |

A five-day break came at just the right time for the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers haven't played since last Friday when they dropped their second straight, 125-119 to the Boston Celtics. All-Star center Joel Embiid missed the past two games with an illness. Tyrese Maxey was also out against the Celtics. Philadelphia is expected to have Embiid and Maxey back when it visits the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. The 76ers will also welcome back Kelly Oubre Jr., who has been out since Nov. 11 with a broken rib and other undisclosed injuries after reportedly being struck by a vehicle. Oubre averaged 16.3 points in his first eight games before his injury. Local police have been unable to locate any video evidence, leading some to be skeptical of Oubre's account. |

In his 21st season, LeBron James gets a new stage to operate on when the Los Angeles Lakers play host to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday in a quarterfinal game of the NBA in-season tournament. James helped the Lakers to a 4-0 record in group-stage play of the inaugural event and the top seed in the West heading into the win-and-advance quarterfinals. The Tuesday winner will face the New Orleans Pelicans in a Thursday semifinal at Las Vegas. The Pelicans earned a 127-117 road win over the Sacramento Kings in a Monday quarterfinal matchup. James showed he is as feisty as ever during Los Angeles' 107-97 victory over the Houston Rockets on Saturday. He backed into the lane for a 360-degree reverse layup and also earned a technical foul for a verbal spat with Rockets coach Ime Udoka in the fourth quarter. Udoka was ejected from the game. |

When it comes to the perks Florida Atlantic earned following last season's run to the Final Four, Tuesday's ranks pretty high as the 11th-ranked Owls travel to New York to face No. 20 Illinois in the Jimmy V Classic opener. FAU coach Dusty May couldn't help but muse about his program's good fortune shortly after the Owls knocked off Charleston on Saturday night in the final of the Field of 68 Tip-Off. A mid-major getting its chance in the spotlight at MSG in the Jimmy V Classic isn't unheard of, though. Butler played Georgetown in the event in 2009 as a member of the Horizon League. That same 2009-10 Bulldogs team ended up going all the way to the 2010 NCAA Tournament title game. |

Loss | -110 | 9 h 51 m | Show |
fter a loss that showed the Musketeers are not all that far from the team they want to be, Xavier will stay at home for a matchup against Delaware on Tuesday in Cincinnati. Battle-tested Xavier is far from content with its overall situation. It's dropped four of six overall and lost consecutive home games, including one to then-No. 6 Houston on Friday. Houston is No. 3 this week. Another of those Xavier defeats came on the road Nov. 13 against Purdue, then the No. 2 team in the country. The matchup with Purdue was a Gavitt Tipoff Games contest, while Friday's was a matchup in the Big East-Big 12 Battle. The competitive 66-60 loss to Houston took away at least a bit of the sting that came from a 78-76 home loss to Oakland last week. The Musketeers (4-4) received 17 points from Quincy Olivari on Friday, while Desmond Claude scored 14 points. Xavier shot just 32.7 percent from the field but held the Cougars to a season-low 34.4 percent. |

A matchup between the New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings has never had so much at stake. Third-seeded New Orleans is visiting second-seeded Sacramento on Monday night in the West quarterfinals of the NBA in-season tournament. The winner will advance to the semifinals of the tournament Thursday in Las Vegas. The Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns meet in the other West quarterfinal. Sacramento went 4-0 while winning West Group C. The Pelicans won West Group B with a 3-1 mark. The Pelicans are 2-0 against the Kings this season, winning back-to-back games last month in New Orleans by 36 and five points. Sacramento had issues defending Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson as New Orleans averaged 123 points in the two triumphs. Ingram scored 31 points and Williamson added 26 in a 129-93 victory on Nov. 20. Two nights later, Williamson scored 25 points and Ingram had 23 in a 117-112 victory. Williamson played on back-to-back nights for the first time this season over the weekend. |

With two losses in the past three games, No. 23 Alabama will be in search of a defensive edge on Monday when Arkansas State pays a visit to Tuscaloosa, Ala. The Crimson Tide (5-2) were undefeated through four games before dropping a 92-81 decision to Ohio State on Nov. 24 in the Emerald Coast Classic at Destin, Fla. They also lost 85-77 at home to Clemson on Tuesday in the ACC/SEC Challenge. Mark Sears scored 23 points, Aaron Estrada had 16 and Grant Nelson added 14 for Alabama, which was undone by a pair of rough stretches. Not only did Alabama start the game against Clemson by missing its first nine 3-point attempts, the Crimson Tide saw the Tigers go on a 16-2 run midway through the second half. |

Now that Arkansas has regained a level of confidence, the Razorbacks look for a strong follow-up performance when they host Furman on Monday night at Fayetteville, Ark. Arkansas (5-3) toppled then-No. 7 Duke on Wednesday night for a signature win. Furman (4-4) is coming off Saturday's 70-69 loss at undefeated Princeton, which won on a late 3-point basket. A meeting with Furman might look like a bit of a breather for Arkansas, which faced nationally ranked North Carolina and Duke in its past two games and has a home date with No. 25 Oklahoma on Saturday. But don't expect the Razorbacks to overlook the Paladins, who play in the Southern Conference. UNC Greensboro, also a member of that league, pulled a 78-72 upset at Arkansas on Nov. 17. |

Celtics v. Pacers +5.5 | | 112-122 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 15 m | Show |
The Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers vie for the distinction of being the first semifinalist in the NBA in-season tournament when they duel Monday night in Indianapolis. Indiana earned the home court based on being one of two Eastern Conference teams to make a perfect run through its tournament group play, having dispatched the Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks, and Detroit Pistons. Boston also won its group but needed a point-differential tie-breaker to get the nod over the Orlando Magic and Brooklyn Nets after all three had a loss. The Celtics were blown out 113-96 at Orlando, requiring them to pour it on the Chicago Bulls in a 124-97 finale that tipped the point-differential scales. The Pacers and Celtics have met once this season, and it wasn't close. On Nov. 1, Boston got 30 points from Jayson Tatum in just 27 minutes in a 155-104 home romp when Indiana was missing star Tyrese Haliburton. Boston enters the game in better form than Indiana. The Celtics have risen to the top of the East regular-season standings with five-, six- and three-game winning streaks, the latter compiled in their last three games against the Hawks, Bulls, and 76ers. Boston has continued to win without Kristaps Porzingis, who remains out with a calf injury. The Celtics made up for the absence with seven players reaching double-figure points in Friday's 125-119 home win over the 76ers. The group included starters Tatum (21), Derrick White (21), Jaylen Brown (20) and Al Horford (20). The key to the sustained short-handed success, Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said, is Horford, who in his last two games as a starter has totaled 36 points, 15 rebounds, nine assists, and five blocks, shooting 13 for 17 from the floor. |

The arrival of Victor Wembanyama to the San Antonio Spurs in the 2023 NBA Draft was reminiscent of Zion Williamson's arrival with the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2019 draft. Both players were considered rare prospects, and their entrance into the NBA was greeted with exceptional anticipation. The two former No. 1 overall picks are scheduled to face each other for the first time when the Spurs visit the Pelicans on Friday night. Both teams are thinking long term as they manage Wembanyama and Williamson's workload. San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich said Wembanyama, who was questionable because of a sore hip before playing in a 137-135 home loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday, the Spurs' 13th consecutive defeat, might not play on Friday. Wembanyama, who leads the Spurs in scoring, rebounding, blocks and steals, finished with 21 points, 12 rebounds, four blocked shots and two steals in just 29 minutes vs. Atlanta. He said afterward that his hip didn't bother him in the game. |

Luka Doncic will try to continue his torrid play on Friday night when the Dallas Mavericks host the Memphis Grizzlies. Doncic collected 41 points, nine rebounds and nine assists in the Mavericks' 121-115 win over the Houston Rockets on Tuesday. The four-time All-Star highlighted that performance with a desperation running hook shot with 1:03 left that gave Dallas a 115-108 lead. Tuesday's effort came while Doncic sported a wrap on his left thumb to protect the low-grade sprain he sustained during the Mavericks' 107-88 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday. |

Cal-Riverside v. UCLA -18.5 | Top | 65-66 |
Loss | -114 | 13 h 1 m | Show |
UCLA returns home to Los Angeles on Thursday, hosting UC Riverside after the Bruins' 1-2 showing last week at the Maui Invitational in Honolulu. UCLA (4-2) went to the wire in losses against then-No. 4 Marquette, 71-69 on Nov. 20, and 69-65 on Nov. 22 to No. 11 Gonzaga. The setbacks bookended a 76-48 rout of Div. II program Chaminade, the Maui Invitational host. Sebastian Mack was a standout in all three games. He was named the Pac-12 Conference Player of the Week after performances of 25 points against Marquette and 16 points against both Chaminade and Gonzaga. Mack is setting the scoring pace for the Bruins through six games at 15.8 points per game. |

Hawks -7.5 v. Spurs | Top | 137-135 |
Loss | -110 | 9 h 34 m | Show |
The Atlanta Hawks look to get back on the winning track as they continue a five-game road trip against the reeling San Antonio Spurs on Thursday in the Alamo City. The Hawks have dropped two straight, and five of their past seven games, while playing the first three games of the road trip. Atlanta heads south after a 128-105 setback in Cleveland on Tuesday as Bogdan Bogdanovic and De'Andre Hunter scored 18 points apiece. Saddiq Bey and Clint Capela added 14 points each for the Hawks while Trae Young had just 13 points on 3-of-14 shooting that included 2 of 8 from beyond the arc. Atlanta led by 10 points in the first half but trailed 64-61 at the half and was held to just 15 points in the fourth quarter. |

Hornets v. Nets -8 | | 129-128 |
Loss | -110 | 8 h 7 m | Show |
While the Brooklyn Nets were unable to advance in the NBA's in-season tournament, they earned something more important for the road ahead: another victory Tuesday. The Nets pushed themselves over the .500 mark for the third time with their second three-game winning streak of the season. Brooklyn's attempt at a fourth straight victory comes Thursday night when it plays host to the Charlotte Hornets. When the Nets reeled off their first three-game winning streak, Oct. 30-Nov. 3, they earned a 133-121 victory at Charlotte, followed by single-digit wins on the road against the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls. Those two teams were Brooklyn's victims in the first two games of the current streak. The Nets sank 38 shots from 3-point range in the past two games and made enough plays down the stretch of Tuesday's 115-103 win over the visiting Toronto Raptors. |

Texas Tech +3 v. Butler | Top | 95-103 |
Loss | -110 | 9 h 43 m | Show |
Fresh off its biggest victory of the young season, Texas Tech takes on another challenge Thursday with a road game against Butler as part of the inaugural Big East-Big 12 Battle. The Red Raiders rolled past Michigan 73-57 last week at the Battle for Atlantis to finish 2-1 at the event. The Bulldogs (5-2) delivered a similar showing in Orlando at the ESPN Events Invitational, with back-to-back wins against Penn State and Boise State after a narrow loss to No. 19 Florida Atlantic. Now two teams with reconstructed rosters collide as they work toward establishing a long-term identity. For Texas Tech (5-1), this is the first true road game, and that's a challenge first-year coach Grant McCasland wants his team to embrace. |

Lakers v. Pistons +7 | Top | 133-107 |
Loss | -110 | 10 h 36 m | Show |
The Detroit Pistons can set a franchise record on Wednesday night, but they don't want any part of it. The Pistons tied their franchise mark for most consecutive losses in a season on Monday when they were thrashed at home by the Washington Wizards. Detroit will try to avert a 15th consecutive defeat when it hosts the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday. The Wizards were saddled with a nine-game losing streak entering Monday's contest but easily won 126-107. A team meeting was held after the Pistons fell apart in the fourth quarter against Indiana on Friday. The meeting had little effect, at least in the short run. |

St. Joe's +13 v. Villanova | Top | 78-65 |
Win | 100 | 9 h 29 m | Show |
No. 18 Villanova will look to extend its winning streak to five when it hosts Big 5 rival Saint Joseph's on Wednesday. The annual matchup is known as the "Holy War" between the two Philadelphia-area schools, which are located less than eight miles apart. The Wildcats (6-1) defeated Maryland and then ousted Texas Tech, North Carolina and Memphis to capture the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas. Villanova led the Tigers by as many as 35 points before winning 79-63 in the championship game. Eric Dixon was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after averaging 21.6 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Justin Moore scored 11 points against Memphis and joined Dixon on the All-Tournament team. Villanova suffered a disappointing 76-72 loss to Penn on Nov. 13. They haven't lost since. |

NC State v. Ole Miss -1.5 | | 52-72 |
Win | 100 | 11 h 2 m | Show |
Eyeing a 6-0 start under first-year head coach Chris Beard, Ole Miss will welcome North Carolina State to Oxford, Miss., for the first time on Tuesday as part of the inaugural SEC-ACC Challenge. NC State (4-1) is the first major conference opponent that Ole Miss (5-0) has faced this season. The Wolfpack will also be the first team the Rebels have played this season that made last spring's NCAA Tournament. After a 77-76 road win over Temple last week, Beard is looking forward to another challenge, but also recognizes that his team still has strides to make. |
11-28-23 |
Bulls v. Celtics -13 | | 97-124 |
Win | 100 | 8 h 2 m | Show |
The Boston Celtics can advance to the knockout stage of the NBA's in-season tournament, but they'll need a dominating performance against the visiting Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night - plus some help from the Brooklyn Nets to do it. The Celtics could win East Group C if several outcomes go Boston's way - including a Celtics win over the Bulls and a Brooklyn victory over Toronto on Tuesday. That would leave Boston, Brooklyn and Orlando in a three-way tie for first place in the East Group C standings, each at 3-1. The group winner would then be determined by the second tiebreaker, which is point differential. Boston's point differential is zero, Orlando's is plus-22 and Brooklyn's is plus-8. The Celtics would need a 23-plus point victory and hope that the Nets win by fewer than 15 points. The six group winners and two wild-card teams advance to the quarterfinals of the in-season tournament, which concludes with semifinals and the final in December. There is also a path for the Celtics to reach the knockout stage as a wild card if they beat the Bulls. In that scenario, Boston would have to finish with a better point differential than the other Eastern Conference teams that don't finish first in their group. Following Sunday's 113-103 victory over Atlanta, Boston's Jayson Tatum made it clear he's not in favor of point differential being used as a tiebreaker. |

Georgia Southern v. Michigan State -28 | Top | 55-86 |
Win | 100 | 9 h 39 m | Show |
Michigan State did not expect to be a .500 team heading into its final game of the month. The No. 21 Spartans are 3-3 after losing to No. 3 Arizona 74-68 on Thanksgiving Day. With the team's Big 10 opener fast approaching, Michigan State plays host to winless Georgia Southern on Tuesday at East Lansing, Mich. The Spartans face Big Ten opponents Wisconsin and Nebraska during their first two games of December. Michigan State trailed by as much as 15 points in the first half against Arizona, which had a 40-30 halftime advantage. The Spartans then rallied to take a 66-63 lead with 3:58 remaining. Arizona answered with an 8-0 run for a 71-66 lead with 1:23 left and Michigan State was unable to respond. |

Lakers v. 76ers -5.5 | Top | 94-138 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 53 m | Show |
The 76ers are coming off a 127-123 road win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, preventing their first three-game skid of the season. Philadelphia center Joel Embiid, who figures to match up against Davis on Monday, just missed a triple-double after finishing with 35 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. Embiid scored more than half his points at the free-throw line, going 19 for 21, as the 76ers snapped Oklahoma City's six-game winning streak. Chet Holmgren, a 7-1 rookie power forward for Oklahoma City, said it's nearly impossible to guard Embiid one-on-one. |

Western Illinois v. Wisconsin -27.5 | Top | 49-71 |
Loss | -110 | 9 h 12 m | Show |
Wisconsin will be looking to extend its three-game winning streak when it hosts Western Illinois on Monday in Madison before the Badgers enter a gauntlet against ranked opponents. Wisconsin (4-2) overcame a 10-point second-half deficit to rally past SMU 69-61 on Wednesday in the championship game of the Fort Myers Tip-Off. Western Illinois (2-4) lost at Illinois 84-52 on Friday. After Western Illinois, Wisconsin faces No. 4 Marquette, No. 21 Michigan State and No. 3 Arizona in an eight-day span. After dominating No. 24 Virginia 65-41 in the Fort Myers opener, the Badgers overcame a dismal first half against SMU with strong play down the stretch, pulling away from a 57-57 tie. After hitting just 1 of their first 19 three-pointers against SMU, the Badgers hit 4 of their last 5. Wisconsin also held a 40-24 edge in points in the paint and was 12-of-13 from the free-throw line. Tyler Wahl had 14 points and the Badgers had four other players in double figures in winning their third straight. |

Bulls v. Nets -4 | Top | 109-118 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 18 m | Show |
The Brooklyn Nets struggled defensively during their just-concluded three-game losing streak. Even if one of their better defensive showings occurred against a short-handed opponent on Saturday, the Nets will look to follow it up on Sunday night when they host the struggling Chicago Bulls. The Nets are playing their second back-to-back set this season and are coming off a 112-97 win over the Miami Heat, who held out stars Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler due to lingering injuries. After allowing 390 points and 49 3s in losses to Miami, Philadelphia, and Atlanta, the Nets led virtually the entire way while permitting under 100 points for the third time this season. Brooklyn posted its second-most lopsided margin of victory thanks to its defense allowing 43.7 percent shooting while forcing a season-best 17 turnovers. The Nets also countered their effective defense by seeing all five starters reach double figures. Mikal Bridges scored 24 points, Cameron Johnson added 19 for his second-highest point total this season while Dorian Finney-Smith contributed 16. |

Suns v. Knicks -3 | | 116-113 |
Loss | -115 | 6 h 52 m | Show |
The Phoenix Suns will take the court Sunday night two days removed from keeping alive their hopes of advancing beyond group play in the NBA in-season tournament. Stunningly, so will the New York Knicks. The Knicks will look to build on a dramatic comeback win when they host the Suns in the first game of the season between the teams. Both teams were off Saturday after earning pivotal wins Friday. The visiting Suns completed West Group A play by cruising past the Memphis Grizzlies 110-89. The host Knicks overcame a 21-point third-quarter deficit to edge the Miami Heat, 100-98. The Suns have a 3-1 record in the in-season tournament, one game behind the Los Angeles Lakers. But with a plus-34 point differential, Phoenix is well-positioned to earn the wild-card berth into the knockout round. The top second-place team in the Western Conference is assured of finishing with no better than a 3-1 record. Through Friday, the Suns had a better point differential than the 3-0 Sacramento Kings (plus-29) as well as the 2-1 Houston Rockets (plus-16), the 2-1 Golden State Warriors (plus-5) and the 2-1 Minnesota Timberwolves (minus-3). With the point differential in mind, the Suns ended the lopsided win over the Grizzlies with four starters on the court - including star shooting guard Devin Booker, who scored nine of Phoenix's final 12 points over the final 3:53. He closed out the scoring by banking in a 27-foot 3-pointer for the game's final points with 13 seconds left. |

Northern Illinois v. DePaul -3.5 | | 89-79 |
Loss | -110 | 9 h 17 m | Show |
DePaul and in-state foe Northern Illinois have experienced decidedly different starts to the young season. The Blue Demons look to avoid a third straight defeat while trying to keep the visiting Huskies from their fifth consecutive victory on Saturday night in Chicago. For the second time in four seasons, DePaul (1-4) has lost four of its first five. The first three of those defeats were by a combined 17 points. That was before the Blue Demons were outscored by 13 in the second half, shot 36.2 percent and allowed San Francisco to shoot 51.7 percent overall during a 70-54 loss in the third-place game of the Cactus Division at the Arizona Tip-Off on Sunday. DePaul is averaging just 68.2 points on the season and shot 38.8 percent while losing to South Carolina and San Francisco at the Arizona event. |

Virginia Tech's tournament quest begins Thursday night vs. Boise State in Kissimmee, Fla. Each team will play three games over four days. Virginia Tech (3-1) has enjoyed a sampling of what it can do. Boise State (2-1) has been on the East Coast since last weekend. |

Iowa State -12 v. VCU | Top | 68-64 |
Loss | -110 | 7 h 19 m | Show |
Under third-year head coach T.J. Otzelberger, Iowa State has shined in Thanksgiving-week tournaments. The Cyclones (4-0) are hoping for more of the same when they open against VCU (3-1) on Thursday in the ESPN Events Invitational in Kissimmee, Fla. In Otzelberger's first season with Iowa State in 2021-22, they knocked off No. 25 Xavier and No. 9 Memphis to win the NIT Season Tip-Off. Last year, the Cyclones took down Villanova and top-ranked North Carolina before losing to eventual national champion UConn in the Phil Knight Invitational final. This time around, it will be the Rams standing in the way of another successful non-conference tournament run. For Otzelberger, the challenge given to his team will be to focus on the now and not its future opponents. |

Florida Atlantic v. Butler +7 | | 91-86 |
Win | 100 | 5 h 47 m | Show |
No. 19 Florida Atlantic and Butler face off on Thanksgiving in the ESPN Events Invitational in Kissimmee, Fla. The Owls suffered a humbling 61-52 loss to Bryant on their home floor Saturday, dropping them out of the top 10 and ending their 19-game home winning streak. The loss for the Owls (2-1), a Final Four team in March with most of the same cast back this season, served as a reminder that nothing comes easy for a highly-ranked program. Johnell Davis scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in that game and is averaging 10.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Viadislav Goldin leads the Owls in scoring at 15 points per game and Nicholas Boyd is averaging 10.7 points and 3.3 assists. |

Sometimes the best way to ignite a dormant offense is with a stingy defense. In the case of the Dallas Mavericks, they appear to have it the other way around. The Mavericks will try to override their leaky defense with a high-octane offense when they visit the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night. Dallas is allowing an NBA 24th-best 120.4 points a game. The Mavericks, in turn, are scoring 122.8 points a game, which is second-most in the league. The Mavericks surrendered more than their season average in their past two games -- both losses. The Milwaukee Bucks shot 52.1 percent from the floor in a 132-125 win against Dallas on Saturday. |

The Indiana Pacers will try to maintain their hot shooting Wednesday night when the oppose the Toronto Raptors in Indianapolis. The Pacers are coming off a 157-152 road win over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night in an NBA in-season tournament game in which they shot 60.6 percent from the floor. Indiana has won all three of its tournament games and has clinched a quarterfinal spot with one game remaining. The Raptors will complete a two-game, two-day road trip after losing 126-107 to the Orlando Magic on Tuesday. Toronto fell to 0-2 in in-season tournament action. The Pacers trailed by as many as 20 points against Atlanta, but they rallied behind Tyrese Haliburton. The 23-year-old guard scored 26 of his 37 points in the third quarter and finished with 16 assists. I think participating in a game that featured 300 points and then playing the next night will take its toll late. |

Charlotte's fourth-quarter comeback and eventual overtime victory against the visiting Boston Celtics on Monday night were the highlights of the season so far for the Hornets. The challenge will be doing it again. The first chance for that comes on Wednesday against the visiting Washington Wizards. At least the Hornets have good vibes compared to the Wizards, who have lost six games in a row since a 132-116 victory at Charlotte on Nov. 8. More of the pieces appear to be in place for the Hornets, though they remain without injured guard Terry Rozier. Miles Bridges has a new role after working back into the rotation following a suspension, and Gordon Hayward has shown the ability to be an elite player again when healthy. |

The Hawks have lost two straight and three of their last four after Friday's 126-116 home loss to Philadelphia in the in-season tournament. Indiana is coming off a 128-116 loss to Orlando on Sunday, where the Pacers trailed by 40 in the second half. The teams are competing in the East Group A Division of the in-season tournament.
