02-07-23 | Nevada v. New Mexico -4 | 77-76 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 12 m | Show
Offensive production has been hard to come by for Nevada this season, as they are currently ranked 161st in college basketball at 72.5 points per game. A major reason for low-scoring totals is the fact that they have played at a below-average pace, and have struggled to knock down outside shots. As a team, the Wolf Pack’s 3-point shooting percentage sits at just 33.8%, placing them 270th in the NCAA.
02-07-23 | Colorado State +1.5 v. Air Force | 69-53 | Win | 100 | 12 h 13 m | Show
Colorado State comes into the game looking to control the pace of play, as they are just 598th in possessions per game. Even with their preference to slow the game down, the Rams’ are scoring at a rate similar to the NCAA average of 73.7 points per game. So far, 38.91% of their shots have come from beyond the arc, where they have connected at a rate of 35.8%. That's good enough to beat Air Force.
02-07-23 | Ohio -4 v. Northern Illinois | Top | 82-76 | Win | 100 | 11 h 19 m | Show |
On offense, Ohio is scoring a rate similar to the NCAA average at 73.9 points per game. This figure has come despite struggling to knock down shots from outside. Through 23 games, they have only hit 34.0% of their 3-point field goal attempts. For the season, 45.53% of their shots have come from beyond the arc.
02-07-23 | Knicks v. Magic +1.5 | Top | 102-98 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 36 m | Show |
After overcoming a 20-point deficit to win a game for the first time this season, the New York Knicks will try to carry the momentum into Tuesday's matchup against the host Orlando Magic. The Knicks' roller-coaster season hit a new peak over the weekend. One night after losing 134-128 in overtime to the Los Angeles Clippers, New York rallied from a 21-point deficit to beat the Philadelphia 76ers 108-97 on Sunday. Julius Randle had 24 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the victory, while Jalen Brunson added 21 points. The Knicks also received a welcome boost from reserves Evan Fournier (17 points), Miles McBride (14 points) and Isaiah Hartenstein (14 rebounds). "For us to come back today and compete and win the game, it says a lot about the character of our team," Randle said. "It was a big win." New York has struggled defensively since center Mitchell Robinson fractured his right thumb 10 games ago but held the Sixers to 18 points in the fourth quarter on Sunday.

Brandon Ingram has regained his form, and the New Orleans Pelicans' long losing streak is over. Ingram returned from a two-month absence due to a toe injury and struggled offensively for most of his first four games back, which were part of a 10-game losing streak. But in his fifth game back he scored a season-high 35 points as the Pelicans won for the first time since Jan. 13 by beating the visiting Los Angeles Lakers, 131-126 on Saturday. The Pelicans will try to win consecutive games for the first time since completing a five-game winning streak on Dec. 30 as they host the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night. Ingram didn't score in the first quarter after going to the bench with two early fouls, but he dominated the last three quarters and had six points during his team's closing 11-6 run. He missed all three of his 3-point attempts but made 15 of 25 2-point attempts and added five rebounds and four assists.

The Volunteers (18-4, 7-2) and Tigers (17-5, 7-2 ) enter the weekend tied with Texas A&M and two games back of league leader Alabama, which is ranked No. 4 and a perfect 9-0 in the conference. The unranked Aggies are home against Georgia on Saturday night. Tennessee and Auburn are coming off decidedly different performances Wednesday. A major reason for low-scoring totals is the fact that they have played at a below-average pace, and have struggled to knock down outside shots. As a team, the Tribe’s 3-point shooting percentage sits at just 30.8%, placing them 434th in the NCAA.

The Albany Great Danes will look to continue their mastery of the UMass-Lowell River Hawks when they meet Wednesday in a key America East Conference showdown. The Great Danes (6-17, 1-7 AEC), who are 2-12 on the road this season, have beaten UMass-Lowell in four consecutive games, including an 89-63 decision in Albany on Jan. 8. The Great Danes have also won eight of the last 12 matchups in the series. The River Hawks (17-6, 5-4), who have lost two straight, are 19-6 on their home floor since the start of last season, including 11-0 in 2022-2023.
01-31-23 | Connecticut -10 v. DePaul | 90-76 | Win | 100 | 19 h 31 m | Show
Adama Sanogo and No. 24 UConn will attempt to climb back to the .500 mark in Big East play when they travel to Chicago on Tuesday night to face DePaul. A slow start plagued the Huskies (16-6, 5-6 Big East) in their last game, an 82-79 home loss to Xavier on Wednesday. The Musketeers scored the game's first nine points and built a 39-24 halftime lead. UConn came up short despite battling back and pulling within one point several times in the second half. Sanogo, who leads the Big East in scoring (16.9 points per game), was held to 11 points in that loss, but the Huskies received 28 points from Jordan Hawkins and 23 from Tristen Newton. Hawkins scored 26 points in the second half. "A really disappointing loss," UConn coach Dan Hurley said. "We became unhinged with that offensive start in the first five minutes. We did some things that we really didn't want to do offensively. That had a real negative effect on defense. Just a really, really tough loss for us to absorb." Xavier, ranked No. 13 at the time of the game, shot 53.4 percent overall and 10-for-20 from 3-point distance.
01-31-23 | St. Louis -4.5 v. Fordham | 65-75 | Loss | -105 | 18 h 22 m | Show
Saint Louis put together a solid non-conference resume, beating Memphis and Providence while losing to then-No. 13 Auburn by just five points. The Billikens have been fantastic in Atlantic 10 play, winning seven of their first eight games. Their lone conference loss came on the road against UMass on Jan. 4, but they have responded with a six-game winning streak since then. They have been favorites in all six games during the hot stretch, although five of those have been single-digit spreads. Saint Louis picked up its best conference win of the year on Friday, beating Davidson as a 2.5-point favorite.
01-30-23 | Hawks v. Blazers -2 | Top | 125-129 | Win | 100 | 13 h 50 m | Show |
A favorable 11-game stretch concludes Monday night for the Portland Trail Blazers, and the club didn't take advantage of the good fortune. The Trail Blazers host the Atlanta Hawks to conclude a span in which 10 of 11 games were at home over a 21-day stretch. Portland is just 4-6 during a time when a Jan. 17 game at the Denver Nuggets marks the only occasion it had to leave town. The Trail Blazers received another break for Saturday's clash with the Toronto Raptors. Portland was well-rested after not playing since Wednesday and the Raptors were playing the second night of a road back-to-back, having lost 129-117 to the Golden State Warriors on Friday night in San Francisco. But it was Toronto that looked refreshed while bolting to a 30-7 lead and posting an easy 123-105 victory over the Trail Blazers.
01-30-23 | Baylor +4 v. Texas | 71-76 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 28 m | Show
No. 10 Texas and No. 17 Baylor will continue one of the oldest rivalries in college basketball when they square off in a return to Big 12 Conference play on Monday in Austin, Texas. Both teams participated in Saturday's Big 12/SEC Challenge, with the Longhorns losing 82-71 at No. 4 Tennessee and Baylor outlasting Arkansas 67-64 at home. It was a brief respite from the conference's 18-game, round-robin battle that reaches the halfway point for both teams with Monday's dustup. The Longhorns (17-4, 6-2) head home after having a two-game winning streak snapped by the Volunteers. Texas trailed by 12 after scoring just 28 points in the first half. The starters scored just seven points before the break, with Marcus Carr and Timmy Allen -- their two leading point producers on the season -- held scoreless. The Longhorns saw Tennessee expand its lead to 22 points early in the second half. Texas drew to within 69-58 after Carr's jumper with 6:06 remaining but never really threatened down the stretch. Sir'Jabari Rice led Texas with 19 points off the bench, with Carr and Brock Cunningham adding 11 each for the Longhorns. Allen finished with six points. Interim coach Rodney Terry said Tennessee was the most physical team that Texas had faced all season, which was quite a statement considering how tough games have been in the Big 12.
01-30-23 | Virginia -5 v. Syracuse | 67-62 | Push | 0 | 10 h 38 m | Show
No. 7 Virginia has won six games in a row, a run that began with a home victory over Syracuse on Jan. 7. Now, three weeks later, the Cavaliers will visit Syracuse for a Monday night rematch with their ACC foes. Virginia (16-3, 8-2 ACC) is coming off its biggest margin of victory during the team's current winning streak -- a 76-57 triumph over Boston College on Saturday. Jayden Gardner and Armaan Franklin each scored 18 points, while Reece Beekman registered 11 points and eight assists. Isaac McKneely and Ryan Dunn combined for 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting off the bench as part of the Cavaliers' balanced attack.
01-29-23 | Memphis v. Tulsa +12.5 | 80-68 | Win | 100 | 8 h 8 m | Show

01-29-23 | Heat v. Hornets +6.5 | 117-122 | Win | 100 | 4 h 56 m | Show
If the Charlotte Hornets could just stay whole for an extended period, they might be onto something. The lineup could be close to that when the Miami Heat visit for Sunday afternoon's game in Charlotte, N.C. The Hornets had LaMelo Ball and Gordon Hayward back in action Thursday night in a 111-96 victory against the visiting Chicago Bulls. Both players missed the previous games -- Ball sitting out three and Hayward the past two. "What it does is it takes so much pressure off the perimeter guys," Charlotte coach Steve Clifford said. "Gordon was really good at both ends of the floor. (Ball is) a difference maker. He puts so much pressure on the defense every time he touches the ball." The Heat have won three games in a row after Friday night's 110-105 victory against the Orlando Magic that came with a second-half rally. Miami is 9-4 in January after entering 2023 just one game above .500.
01-29-23 | Providence v. Villanova +2 | 70-65 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 30 m | Show
No. 23-ranked Providence will look for its third consecutive victory when it battles Villanova on Sunday in Philadelphia. The Friars (16-5, 8-2 Big East), who are 12-0 at home, received 16 points from Bryce Hopkins in a 79-58 win over Butler last Wednesday. Clifton Moore and Corey Floyd Jr. added 12 points each and Devin Carter had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Jared Bynum also provided a big lift with four points and three assists in 11 minutes after missing the previous four games with an abdominal strain. "There's nothing like playing at home," Providence head coach Ed Cooley said. "It gets better and better every time we're here. Our players did a great job. When the game settled in, it was great to get Jared Bynum back involved." Bynum started 16 games before suffering the injury against then-No. 4 UConn on Jan. 4. Cooley gushed over Bynum's return and how much his presence helped the team.
01-29-23 | CS Bakersfield +16.5 v. Hawaii | 69-72 | Win | 100 | 13 h 12 m | Show
The number in this game continues to rise and with Hawaii failing to cover four of their last six games, this to too big of a line.
01-28-23 | Raptors +5.5 v. Blazers | 123-105 | Win | 100 | 12 h 45 m | Show
Damian Lillard has quite an act to follow when the Portland Trail Blazers host the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night. Lillard is fresh off the fourth 60-point outing of his 11-season career and has regained the form that was missing when he was limited to 29 games in his injury-riddled 2021-22 campaign. Lillard was highly efficient while scoring exactly 60 points against the Utah Jazz during Portland's 134-124 home victory on Wednesday. He made 21 of 29 field-goal attempts -- including 9 of 15 from 3-point range -- and was 9 of 10 from the free-throw line. Lillard fell one point short of his career-high while also contributing eight assists, seven rebounds, and three steals. "I wasn't thinking I'm going to have to get 60, but I knew that I would have to be engaged and in attack mode and be aggressive," Lillard said afterward. "That was the mentality going into it.

Dons are 13-29 ATS in their last 42 games following a straight-up win and 7-21 ATS in their last 28 games following an ATS win.
01-28-23 | Colorado State v. Boise State -7.5 | 59-80 | Win | 100 | 10 h 9 m | Show

01-28-23 | Knicks v. Nets -1.5 | 115-122 | Win | 100 | 7 h 22 m | Show
The New York Knicks earned what can be considered their best win of the season on Thursday, while the Brooklyn Nets absorbed what can be deemed their worst loss of the season. Coming off those drastically different outcomes, the two intracity rivals are will get together for the second time this season Saturday night at Brooklyn. The Knicks have dropped past eight meetings and 13 of the past 16, and they trailed by 16 after the opening quarter of their 112-85 loss at Brooklyn on Nov. 9. That loss was part of a 10-13 start that culminated in a 121-100 home loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Dec. 3. Since then, New York is 17-10 over its past 27 games, though it has taken an extremely streaky route. Their turnaround began with an eight-game winning streak and also featured seven wins in another eight-game span, but the Knicks also produced losing streaks of five and four games. On Thursday, the Knicks recorded their second straight victory following the four-game skid when they beat the Celtics 120-117 in overtime in Boston. The Knicks blew a 12-point lead in the final five minutes of regulation. The win occurred two nights after they blew an 11-point fourth-quarter lead and held on for a 105-103 home win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
01-28-23 | Arkansas +7 v. Baylor | 64-67 | Win | 100 | 7 h 38 m | Show
Arkansas and No. 17 Baylor will battle for a coveted non-conference victory Saturday afternoon when they meet in the SEC-Big 12 Challenge in Waco, Texas. The Razorbacks need a resume-building result and desperately need to prove they can win on the road, as they are 0-4 in true road games. "We're gaining a little bit of rhythm. We're a more confident team," Arkansas coach Eric Musselman said. "I think there was a lot of unknown in those first few road games." Arkansas (14-6) bounced back from a four-game losing streak in a rough Southeastern Conference stretch to defeat Mississippi and LSU in a pair of home games. Baylor (15-5) has won five in a row, including Monday night's 75-69 home triumph over No. 9 Kansas. That has helped the Bears recover from losing their first three Big 12 games. Having a consistent lineup is giving Baylor a boost.
01-28-23 | Nuggets v. 76ers -3.5 | 119-126 | Win | 100 | 5 h 58 m | Show
Joel Embiid will have plenty of reasons for extra motivation when the Philadelphia 76ers host the Denver Nuggets on Saturday. After all, Embiid will be going up against Denver's Nikola Jokic, who has edged him out for the league's Most Valuable Player award in each of the past two seasons. In addition, Embiid surprisingly was not selected as a starter for the upcoming All-Star Game. In the meantime, all he does is pile up eye-popping statistics for the Sixers, who have six straight victories. In a 137-133 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday, Embiid hit all 13 free throws and had 26 points and 10 rebounds. It was his 18th game this season of at least 25 points and 10 rebounds. Tyrese Maxey led the way with 27 points and James Harden, who was named as an All-Star reserve along with Embiid, added 23.
01-28-23 | Auburn +4 v. West Virginia | Top | 77-80 | Win | 100 | 3 h 7 m | Show |
No. 15 Auburn will aim to bounce back from its largest setback of the season when it visits West Virginia on Saturday in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge at Morgantown, W.Va. The Tigers (16-4) had a 28-game home unbeaten streak end when they fell 79-63 to Texas A&M on Wednesday. Auburn coach Bruce Pearl wants to avoid a second consecutive loss, but the Mountaineers (12-8) are better than their record in his eyes. "You look at West Virginia and you look at Texas A&M and you see a lot of similarities -- tough, physical, hard-nosed," Pearl said. The Tigers dug a 15-point halftime deficit against the Aggies and couldn't recover. Meanwhile, West Virginia produced a solid 76-61 road victory over Texas Tech on Wednesday. Pearl knows the Mountaineers will be a tough foe with Hall of Fame coach Bob Huggins known as a master of preparation.
01-27-23 | Air Force +13 v. New Mexico | 73-81 | Win | 100 | 3 h 33 m | Show
No. 25 New Mexico will try to bounce back after losing in double overtime at Nevada on Monday when the Lobos play Air Force on Friday night at Albuquerque. The Lobos (18-3, 5-3 Mountain West) lost at Nevada after a flagrant foul on Morris Udeze was called with 14 seconds remaining in double overtime. Udeze grabbed a rebound, and while trying to secure the ball, his left forearm struck Daniel Foster's face. The refs determined it was a flagrant foul and Foster broke the 94-94 tie by making one of the two free throws. Will Baker then made the two free throws as a result of the foul and Nevada went on to win 97-94.
01-27-23 | Buffalo +11 v. Kent State | 68-74 | Win | 100 | 1 h 26 m | Show
There isn't much that invites you to take the Bulls in this one except for the number. I feel as if I'm being baited into a trap and that's not what we're going to do.
01-27-23 | Oakland v. Youngstown State -8 | 73-77 | Loss | -110 | 1 h 23 m | Show

01-26-23 | Arizona v. Washington State +5.5 | 63-58 | Win | 100 | 11 h 34 m | Show
No. 6 Arizona, which was stunned at home by Washington State about three weeks ago, will be looking for payback when the teams meet Thursday night in Pullman, Wash. The Cougars (9-12, 4-6 Pac-12) posted the program's first road victory over a top-5 team when they defeated the then-No. 5 Wildcats 74-61 on Jan. 7 in Tucson, snapping Arizona's 28-game home winning streak. Washington State is aiming for its first sweep of Arizona (17-3, 6-3) since the 2009-10 season. "I hope they consider us a rival," Cougars coach Kyle Smith said with a chuckle. "I think that would be great." Arizona looks a bit different than it did in the first meeting against Washington State. Coach Tommy Lloyd made a lineup switch last week, inserting Cedric Henderson Jr. in place of Pelle Larsson, who was the Pac-12's Sixth Man of the Year last season.
01-26-23 | Spurs +13.5 v. Clippers | 100-138 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 50 m | Show
Fresh off one of their best victories of the season and starting to play as they expected, the Los Angeles Clippers will take their new-found success up against the visiting San Antonio Spurs on Thursday. The Clippers are on a three-game winning streak, a run that started with a 131-126 victory at San Antonio on Friday. It is their longest string of victories since a three-game streak in the middle of December. The Clippers finally have stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George in a flow after both struggled with injuries and inconsistency this season. The injury bug has been a roster-wide problem for Los Angeles, as sharpshooter Luke Kennard (calf) has been out for three weeks and backup point guard John Wall (abdomen) has been sidelined for two weeks. In addition, Marcus Morris Sr. left the Clippers' 133-115 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday due to a rib injury. Without Morris for most of the game, the Clippers still were able to do plenty of damage with Leonard and George combining for 52 points while going 22 of 36 (61.1 percent) from the field. Norman Powell, who added 22 points, has averaged 24.3 the past four games.
01-26-23 | Mavs +1.5 v. Suns | 99-95 | Win | 100 | 8 h 13 m | Show
After opening the month by losing seven of their first eight games, the Phoenix Suns have quickly returned to form over the past week. Phoenix looks to extend its winning streak to five games when it faces the visiting Dallas Mavericks on Thursday. Cameron Johnson's return has made an immediate impact on the Suns, who cruised to a 128-97 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday. Playing in his third game since returning from a knee injury that kept him out more than two months, Johnson scored 24 points in 18 minutes. Dario Saric had 19 points off the bench for Phoenix, which has moved up to a tie for sixth place in the Western Conference after dropping as low as 12th earlier this month. Even during the rough patch, Johnson said his team never panicked. "It's the NBA -- you weather storms. It's life -- you weather storms," Johnson said. "Things don't always go your way. We've found that out the past couple years. That doesn't mean you tuck tail, run, sell the farm, hide away forever. We have a lot of confidence in our group. Top to bottom."
01-26-23 | Portland +5.5 v. Loyola Marymount | 60-79 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 32 m | Show
This looks like another trap number with both of thee teams being on the opposite spectrum when it comes to being a reliable cover team. Go against what the books want, they think you're sleeping at this point in the night.
01-26-23 | Long Beach State v. Cal Poly +4.5 | 70-52 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 17 m | Show
The Beach are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up win and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 road games.
01-26-23 | UC-Davis v. CS Bakersfield +8 | Top | 79-58 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 30 m | Show |
This looks like another trap number with both of thee teams being on the opposite spectrum when it comes to being a reliable cover team. Go against what the books want, they think you're sleeping at this point in the night.
01-26-23 | Idaho State +11 v. Eastern Washington | 68-81 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 11 m | Show
Another game that smells like a trap. The Eagles are clearly the side that has been better against the number with the Bengals having a difficult time covering at a consistent pace. The problem is, this number should be 13-15. Let's not fall into the trap.
01-26-23 | Purdue v. Michigan +5.5 | 75-70 | Win | 100 | 8 h 7 m | Show
Purdue enters its Thursday visit to Michigan on a six-game winning streak and back in possession of the top spot in the men's college basketball rankings. Don't get the No. 1 Boilermakers wrong, they'll take the lofty perch. But you can think again if you figure Purdue is content. "There's still a lot of improvement in every facet of our game," Boilermakers center Zach Edey said. "Offensively, defensively, rebounding, turnovers. We're never going to be satisfied with where we are." A 16-point lead against visiting Maryland nearly evaporated Sunday, but the Boilermakers (19-1, 8-1 Big Ten) held things together down the stretch. As did Edey. Purdue's dominant, 7-foot-4 center finished with 24 points and 16 rebounds to help the Boilermakers earn a 58-55 victory. Braden Smith followed with eight points and Fletcher Loyer added seven as the Boilermakers relied heavily on Edey's 16th double-double of the season. Purdue overcame committing 15 turnovers.
01-26-23 | Texas-San Antonio v. North Texas -19 | 59-63 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 4 m | Show
Roadrunners are 16-37-1 ATS in their last 54 road games and 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall
01-26-23 | Colorado +6.5 v. Oregon | 69-75 | Win | 100 | 8 h 0 m | Show
If anything is true about Oregon basketball, it is that the Ducks are difficult to figure out. They stunned then-No. 9 Arizona in blowout fashion on Jan. 14. They handed Utah a loss in Salt Lake City earlier this month. But on the flip side, the Ducks have suffered through poor shooting games in losses to lower-echelon conference teams, including Stanford last Saturday. Host Oregon (11-9, 5-4 Pac-12) gets a shot to atone for a 41-point effort at Colorado earlier this month with a rematch against the Buffaloes in Eugene, Ore., on Thursday. The Buffaloes (12-9, 4-6) blasted Oregon 68-41 at home on Jan. 5, with the Ducks shooting 26.9 percent and making just 1 of 14 3-pointers. This time, a Ducks' win would keep Oregon in the top half of the Pac-12 standings. Oregon is coming off a split in the Bay Area, with a blowout win at Cal and a loss at Stanford, where Jermaine Couisnard's 18 points led the way in defeat.
01-26-23 | Eastern Illinois +11.5 v. Southern Indiana | 74-78 | Win | 100 | 7 h 16 m | Show
The Panthers are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600
01-26-23 | Cavs -8.5 v. Rockets | Top | 113-95 | Win | 100 | 6 h 26 m | Show |
In what is a testament to the grueling nature of an 82-game season, the Cleveland Cavaliers seemingly have plateaued following a roaring start that made the rest of the league take notice. The grind appears to have caught up to the Cavaliers, who will continue their three-game road trip with a game against the Houston Rockets on Thursday. With a 105-103 road loss to the New York Knicks on Tuesday, the Cavaliers dropped to 6-6 in January. The offseason addition of three-time All-Star Donovan Mitchell to an ascendant roster paid immediate dividends for the Cavaliers, whose blend of frontcourt size and backcourt dynamism yielded instant success over the opening two-plus months of the regular season. This month, Cleveland is 15th in offensive rating (115.9), and its 2.1 net rating in January is 11th overall. Even the Cavaliers' defensive rating (113.8 this month) has slumped.
01-26-23 | Nebraska-Omaha +7.5 v. UMKC | 61-64 | Win | 100 | 7 h 41 m | Show
The Mavericks are 18-5 ATS in their last 23 Thursday games and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games following a ATS loss.
01-26-23 | Pistons +9 v. Nets | 130-122 | Win | 100 | 6 h 13 m | Show
Since losing Kevin Durant to a sprained right knee two weeks ago, Brooklyn Nets coach Jacque Vaughn's message to his players is, "Expect to win." While the Nets are not enduring an 11-game losing streak like last year when Durant missed 21 games, they are experiencing mixed results so far in the star forward's absence. They hope to capitalize on a steady flow of home games heading into the All-Star break, starting with a Thursday visit from the Detroit Pistons. The Nets are 2-5 since losing Durant to a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee when he collided with Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler in the third quarter on Jan. 8. Last year, they went 5-16 while Durant was sidelined from mid-January to early March due to an MCL sprain in his left knee. This month, Brooklyn lost its first two games without Durant by struggling in the fourth quarters of home games against the Boston Celtics and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Then the Nets went 2-3 on a five-game trip that ended with a 137-133 loss at Philadelphia on Wednesday. Brooklyn allowed 41 points in the opening quarter, and the 76ers wound up shooting 51.2 percent from the floor and making 35 of 36 free throws.
01-26-23 | Bulls -6 v. Hornets | 96-111 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 4 m | Show
The Chicago Bulls and host Charlotte Hornets ought to be frustrated teams when they meet on Thursday night. But the agitations come for different reasons. The Bulls lost 116-110 on Tuesday night at Indiana, with a three-game winning streak ending when they couldn't protect a 21-point lead. "I don't know what the right word is -- disappointed, frustrated," Bulls coach Billy Donovan said. "These difficult losses, it also makes you understand what you've got to do, and we have not been able to make a decision to do that, quite honestly -- what we all have to do collectively. It's not one player. It's not one thing. It's a multitude of things." The Hornets will be back home from a 2-2 trip that concluded with blowout losses to Utah and Phoenix on back-to-back nights.
01-26-23 | Knicks v. Celtics -8.5 | 120-117 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 51 m | Show
The Boston Celtics will look to avoid their second three-game losing streak of the season when they begin a four-game homestand with a matchup against the New York Knicks on Thursday night. Boston was 7-0 in the second game of back-to-backs before falling 98-95 in Miami on Tuesday, one night after a 113-98 loss at Orlando. The Celtics, who entered the week on a nine-game winning streak, played the second game in Florida with a significantly short-handed lineup. They hope to return to fuller strength starting Thursday with their first of two games in three nights. Starters Jaylen Brown (injury management), Al Horford (back) and Marcus Smart (ankle) and sixth man Malcolm Brogdon (personal) were out against the Magic. "We take pride in being the deepest team, so when people are out we have to have the 'next man up' mentality," Celtics guard Derrick White said. "Obviously, two games we dropped that we could've won, so we don't look at who's playing, who's not playing." Without his usual supporting cast, Boston star Jayson Tatum scored 31 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the field and added 14 rebounds and seven assists, though he committed seven turnovers.
01-25-23 | Jazz +4 v. Blazers | 124-134 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 29 m | Show
Damian Lillard continues to build his reputation as one of the top long-range shooters in NBA history. Lillard has moved into seventh place on the all-time 3-pointers list and is taking aim at sixth-place Vince Carter when the Portland Trail Blazers host the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night. Lillard made seven 3-pointers in Portland's 147-127 rout of the visiting San Antonio Spurs on Monday to raise his career total to 2,283, one more than Jason Terry. Another game with seven would allow Lillard to tie Carter.
01-25-23 | Raptors v. Kings -3 | 113-95 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 14 m | Show
The Sacramento Kings boast a pair of All-Star candidates in De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, but reserve forward Trey Lyles might hold the key to their future success. The surging Kings have won seven of eight heading into Wednesday's matchup against the visiting Toronto Raptors. Following a breakout game against the Memphis Grizzlies, Lyles will likely figure prominently in the Raptors' scouting report. The eight-year pro was 6 of 8 from 3-point range and finished with a season-high 24 points in the Kings' 133-100 victory over Memphis on Monday. Sacramento's reserve lineups have struggled at times on the defensive end, but Lyles has made a positive impact since moving into the rotation last month. He had six rebounds and a season-high three blocked shots against the Grizzlies.
01-25-23 | Chicago State v. Stanford -17.5 | 65-72 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 7 m | Show
I didn't expect this number to be as high as it is with both teams having horrific years, and with the Cougars being a decent cover team. The Cardinals have been bad but have covered games against the worst teams on their schedule. They flex a little in this one.
01-25-23 | Tulane +1.5 v. Wichita State | 95-90 | Win | 100 | 9 h 4 m | Show
The Green Wave has bounced back after a loss all season and I don't expect this game to be any different. The Shockers have failed to cover six straight games at home and 18 of 25 after a SU win.
01-25-23 | Texas A&M +4.5 v. Auburn | 79-63 | Win | 100 | 9 h 51 m | Show
After a successful two-game road trip ended with a victory over South Carolina on Saturday, No. 15 Auburn hosts Texas A&M on Wednesday night looking to extend the nation's longest home winning streak to 29 games. The red-hot Tigers (16-3, 6-1 Southeastern Conference) dominated the Gamecocks from start to finish and earned their fifth straight victory behind double-doubles from Johni Broome and Wendell Green Jr. Broome had a season-high 27 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season and the 41st of his career. Green scored in double-figures for the fifth straight game, finishing with 16 points. He added a season-high 12 assists and became the first Auburn player to have a double-double with points and assists since he accomplished the feat against Georgia one year and two days earlier.
01-25-23 | Butler v. Providence -10 | 58-79 | Win | 100 | 8 h 17 m | Show
No. 23 Providence looks to head out for a two-game road trip on a winning note when it hosts Butler on Wednesday night. The Friars (15-5, 7-2 Big East) have won their first four conference home games this season, continuing that trend with a 75-64 triumph over DePaul on Saturday. Providence is 11-0 at home this season and has won 13 straight home games dating back to last season. "The Big East is very, very deep coming out of Creighton and Marquette, two very hostile environments," Providence coach Ed Cooley said. "Coming home to feel the love from our crowd here is just phenomenal." Providence dropped one spot in this week's AP Top 25 after losing to the Bluejays and the Golden Eagles. In the bounce-back effort, a wire-to-wire win over the Blue Demons, Noah Locke led Providence with a career-high 29 points, sinking seven 3-pointers. Bryce Hopkins logged 20 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for his eighth double-double of the season and third in a row.
01-25-23 | Hawks v. Thunder +2 | 137-132 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 34 m | Show
The last time the Oklahoma City Thunder and Atlanta Hawks squared off, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey led the way in a Thunder win. Heading into Wednesday's second and final meeting between the teams, this time in Oklahoma City, Gilgeous-Alexander and Giddey enter on a hot streak and could be poised to do more damage. The duo is a big reason why the Thunder have won seven of their last nine games. Gilgeous-Alexander is coming off a 34-point effort in Sunday's 101-99 win over the host Denver Nuggets that included the deciding bucket with 9.2 seconds remaining. Gilgeous-Alexander is tied for third in the league with 99 clutch points - points scored in the game's final five minutes with the scoring margin within five points.
01-25-23 | Nuggets +8.5 v. Bucks | 99-107 | Win | 100 | 8 h 32 m | Show
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic own the last four MVP trophies, with both winning in consecutive years while bolstering the reputation of foreign-born players in the NBA. Both are having MVP-worthy seasons this year, and they will have a chance to state their cases when Antetokounmpo's Milwaukee Bucks host Jokic's Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night. Not only is the game a clash of MVPs, but it also is a matchup of two of the best teams in the NBA. Milwaukee is third in the Eastern Conference, four games behind the Boston Celtics for the top spot, while Jokic has led Denver to the best record in the Western Conference. The Bucks are coming off a 150-point performance in a win at Detroit on Monday night. Milwaukee got Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton back in the lineup, and the duo supercharged the offense. Antetokounmpo had missed five games with a lingering knee issue, and Middleton had not played since Dec. 15. Middleton missed the first 20 games of the season after undergoing wrist surgery in the offseason, then was shut down after seven games in December due to knee soreness. He played 15 minutes in the win over the Pistons, amassing eight points and four assists.
01-25-23 | Belmont -13 v. Evansville | 73-64 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 40 m | Show
The Bruins are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall, while the Purple Aces are 7-20 ATS in their last 27 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record
01-25-23 | Nets v. 76ers -5 | 133-137 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 7 m | Show
The red-hot Philadelphia 76ers will look for their sixth consecutive victory when they host the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night. The Sixers just completed a five-game sweep on their road trip with wins over the Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Portland Trail Blazers and Sacramento Kings. Philadelphia capped the sweep with a 129-127 come-from-behind win Saturday at Sacramento while playing without Joel Embiid and James Harden. "We were down 21 points and all we talked about was winning the game," Sixers coach Doc Rivers said. "We didn't panic. Just every timeout, we're going to win the game. Just hang in there. Came out the beginning of the third and grabbed the lead." Tyrese Maxey led the way with 32 points while Montrezl Harrell, Tobias Harris and Georges Niang each added 17. Shake Milton scored 15 and De'Anthony Melton had 14 in the balanced effort.
01-24-23 | Clippers -5 v. Lakers | 133-115 | Win | 100 | 9 h 4 m | Show
Still searching for the success that would match the optimism they possessed heading into the season, the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers meet again Tuesday amid the same old refrain: Better days are ahead. When the teams met in the first week of the season, the Clippers earned a 103-97 victory in Kawhi Leonard's return after missing last season because of knee surgery. The Clippers downed the Lakers again on Nov. 9, prevailing 114-101 as Leonard was in the midst of a 12-game absence caused by residual knee soreness and the Lakers were nearing the end of a gloomy 2-10 start to the season. When the teams meet Tuesday, the Clippers are expected to have their stars on the court, with some other key pieces close to a return for their injury-plagued roster. For the Lakers, Anthony Davis is showing signs he should be able to return this week from his current 19-game absence. The Lakers struggled when Davis went down with a foot injury, before LeBron James led a resurgence by averaging 35.1 points over his past 10 games. The Lakers have played 12 total games in that stretch and have shown their improvement by producing an 8-4 record. The Lakers not only ended the Memphis Grizzlies' 11-game winning streak at home Friday, but they followed that with a 121-112 road victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday when James scored 37 points and they came back from a 25-point halftime deficit. James hopes for bigger and better things when Davis hits the court again.
01-24-23 | LSU v. Arkansas -12 | 40-60 | Win | 100 | 7 h 47 m | Show
Having broken a four-game losing streak, Arkansas will look to keep going in the right direction when it faces LSU in Southeastern Conference play on Tuesday in Fayetteville, Ark. The Razorbacks (13-6, 2-5) ended their season-high skid with a 69-57 win over visiting Ole Miss on Saturday. LSU (12-7, 1-6) has troubles of its own. The Tigers are coming off a 77-56 home loss to No. 9 Tennessee, marking its sixth straight loss since a 60-57 win over then-No. 9 Arkansas on Dec. 28. Arkansas pulled away in the second half against Ole Miss for its 11th win in its past 14 meetings against the Rebels. Anthony Black had game highs of 17 points, eight assists and five steals, while Davonte Davis added 16 points, five rebounds and four assists. Jordan Walsh chipped in 13 points and seven rebounds, with Joseph Pinion finishing with 13 points and five rebounds.
01-24-23 | Bowling Green -2.5 v. Central Michigan | 83-61 | Win | 100 | 6 h 28 m | Show
The Falcons have covered four of their last five games against teams playing .400 ball or less, while the Chippewas have failed to cover four of their last 5.
01-24-23 | DePaul -2 v. Georgetown | 76-81 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 16 m | Show
In what has materialized into another tumultuous season for Georgetown, Hoyas head coach Patrick Ewing has pinpointed one of his team's many deficiencies entering a matchup against visiting DePaul on Tuesday night in Washington, D.C "Our defense is letting us down right now," Ewing said following Georgetown's 95-82 loss at then-No. 8 Xavier on Saturday. "... We have to be able to get stops when we need to get stops." The Hoyas (5-15, 0-9 Big East) let the Musketeers shoot 54.9 percent from the field, including 57.1 percent (8 of 14) from 3-point range. Georgetown also surrendered 31 assists, the most allowed in a game this season by a Big East team. The Hoyas' feeble defense actually has been a season-long issue and is one of the main contributors to their current 10-game losing streak. And with their record conference losing streak now at 29 games, Georgetown looks to solve its persistent defensive struggles. Since their last win on Dec. 7 vs. Siena, Georgetown allowed their opponent to shoot at least 50 percent in five games and has held their opponent to below 40 percent just once, in a 66-51 home loss to Seton Hall on Jan. 10. The Hoyas' 78.1 points allowed per game allowed ranks 342nd of 352 teams in the nation, and their 83.9 points allowed per game and 49.7 field-goal percentage allowed in conference play rank last in the league.
01-23-23 | Grizzlies v. Kings +1.5 | 100-133 | Win | 100 | 14 h 4 m | Show
The Memphis Grizzlies have the unenviable task of following up a draining loss with a matchup at the Pacific Division-leading Sacramento Kings when they take the court for the second half of a back-to-back Monday night in the California capital. Down 62-37 at halftime and seemingly content to coast into a more winnable game on the second night of its consecutive contests, the Grizzlies thoroughly outplayed the host Phoenix Suns in the second half Sunday night, only to fall two points short, 112-110. Ja Morant had 27 points in a team-high 37 minutes for the Grizzlies, who also have endured a one-point home win over the Cleveland Cavaliers and a one-point road loss to the Los Angeles Lakers over the past five days. To add insult to injury, a five-game trip continues Wednesday night against the Grizzlies' chief rival, the Golden State Warriors, in San Francisco. The club's two-game losing streak isn't sitting well with coach Taylor Jenkins, who watched his team sail up the Western standings with 11 straight wins before the narrow defeat in Los Angeles on Friday.
01-23-23 | Spurs v. Blazers -7.5 | 127-147 | Win | 100 | 14 h 36 m | Show
Two teams near the bottom of the Western Conference standings will be trying to dig out of losing stretches when the Portland Trail Blazers host the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night. The Trail Blazers have dropped 12 of their past 16 games to fall to 13th place in the 15-team conference. San Antonio resides in 14th place after losing nine of its past 11 games. Portland seemed to have a good chance at a victory on Sunday night when it led the visiting Los Angeles Lakers by 25 points at halftime. But the Trail Blazers were outscored 75-41 in the second half while being saddled with another setback.
01-23-23 | Hornets v. Jazz -7.5 | Top | 102-120 | Win | 100 | 13 h 38 m | Show |
For only the fourth time since he opted to leave Utah to play for the Boston Celtics, Gordon Hayward is expected to face his former team in Salt Lake City on Monday night when his Charlotte Hornets take on the Jazz. Hayward returned to the Hornets' lineup Saturday after missing eight games with left hamstring soreness. He scored nine points in Charlotte's 122-118 victory at Atlanta. The Hornets have now won two straight, both on the road, after a five-game losing streak.
01-23-23 | New Mexico v. Nevada -2.5 | Top | 94-97 | Win | 100 | 13 h 33 m | Show |
Wolf Pack are 16-5-2 ATS in their last 23 games overall and 15-5-2 ATS in their last 22 games vs. a team with a winning straight-up record.
01-23-23 | Wolves -5 v. Rockets | 114-119 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 39 m | Show
With Rudy Gobert unavailable and unable to patrol the paint defensively, the Minnesota Timberwolves still proved quite able at protecting their rim and scoring down low against the Houston Rockets on Saturday. In need of a boost, Timberwolves coach Chris Finch turned to third-year center Nathan Knight who, in concert with a brilliant performance from Anthony Edwards, helped shift momentum. Knight scored 17 of his season-high 19 points in the second half while Edwards delivered a tour de force effort with a season-high 44 points to steer Minnesota to a 113-104 comeback victory in the first of back-to-back games against the Rockets. Houston will host Minnesota on Monday. Gobert is listed as questionable for Monday due to right groin soreness, an injury that has sidelined him for three straight games. The 6-foot-10 Knight helped plug a significant gap in the middle for the Timberwolves, who were without both Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns (calf). Knight added four rebounds and three steals during his impactful 25-minute stretch off the bench.
01-22-23 | Thunder +5.5 v. Nuggets | 101-99 | Win | 100 | 7 h 0 m | Show
The Oklahoma City Thunder have surprised this season despite not having rookie Chet Holmgren available, working their way into the playoff hunt with some impressive victories. One team they haven't solved is Western Conference-leading Denver Nuggets, who have won the first three meetings between the teams and will go for the season sweep when they host the Thunder on Sunday night. Holmgren, the 7-footer who was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 draft, went down with a foot injury over the summer and had season-ending surgery. The Thunder have found their way behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who leads the team in scoring at 30.6 points a game. He had 37 in a 118-113 loss at Sacramento on Friday that snapped a four-game winning streak. "The team always runs through the finish line," Oklahoma City coach Mark Daigneault said. "Great competitive level. We played exceptionally hard. ... Certainly a relevant game we can learn from." Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging nearly twice as many points as the Thunder's second-leading scorer, Josh Giddy, who is at 16.0 per game. Gilgeous-Alexander has been solid against Denver this year, averaging 32.0 points and 7.0 assists in the three games.
01-22-23 | Grizzlies -9 v. Suns | 110-112 | Loss | -116 | 7 h 53 m | Show
The Memphis Grizzlies will look to return to the win column on Sunday night when they continue their season-high five-game road trip against the Phoenix Suns. The Grizzlies squandered a 13-point lead in the third quarter and saw their franchise-record-tying 11-game winning streak end with a 122-121 setback at the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday. "Disappointed because we didn't play to our standard. I don't care about a streak," Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins said. Jenkins didn't stop there. "They outcompeted us for 48 minutes. Plain and simple. ... Terrible effort," he said. Ja Morant said his team's downfall was due in part to giving the Lakers additional looks at the basket. "We gave up too many second-chance points. Just have to win the 50-50 plays," Morant said. "We've got a lot of good (things going), but a lot of cleaning up to do."
01-22-23 | Knicks -1 v. Raptors | 116-125 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 7 m | Show
The Toronto Raptors will have one final chance this month to take advantage of their home court when they host the New York Knicks on Sunday before going on a seven-game road trip. The Raptors have dropped three straight after losing 106-104 to the injury-depleted Boston Celtics on Saturday to open a brief two-game homestand. They were 1-2 on their previous road trip, defeating the Knicks 123-121 in overtime on Monday. The Raptors, who led by as many as 11 points in the first quarter Saturday, took a four-point advantage into the fourth against the Celtics, who were without Jayson Tatum (wrist). "There were a lot of times when we controlled the ball, pursued the ball, contested at the rim, blocked shots at the rim, etc.," Raptors coach Nick Nurse said. "And then there's just too many times when it's a straight-line drive and a layup, right? We just can't give those up." The Knicks also have dropped three straight after losing 139-124 to the host Atlanta Hawks on Friday.
01-22-23 | Pelicans +7.5 v. Heat | 96-100 | Win | 100 | 3 h 45 m | Show
If there is a bright spot to the Miami Heat's uneven and unpredictable season, it's the play of reserve guard Victor Oladipo. The Heat, who will host the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday afternoon, are thrilled that Oladipo finally seems healthy. The last time he played even half a season was in 2017-18, when he was a first-time All-Star. Since then, he has not played more than 36 games in any of the following four seasons. However, in Miami's 115-90 loss to Dallas on Friday night, Oladipo scored a team-high 20 points making 9 of 12 shot attempts, including a pair of 3-pointers. "Just being assertive, being aggressive, getting to the spots where I feel comfortable and trying to play at a high level," Oladipo said of his performance. Despite the disappointing loss to Dallas, Miami is a solid 9-5 over its past 14 games. The Heat haven't lost consecutive games since dropping two straight one month ago (Dec. 20-23).
01-22-23 | Clippers v. Mavs -1.5 | Top | 112-98 | Loss | -110 | 2 h 50 m | Show |
The Los Angeles Clippers' injury-plagued season has been marked by constant lineup adjustments and inconsistent play, but there are promising signs ahead. The Clippers look to build on their best-shooting game of the season when they continue their four-game road trip against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. Despite its .500 record, Los Angeles remains a viable title contender thanks to stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. When the pair is on the court together, the Clippers are as dangerous as any team in the league. The problem has been keeping them both on the floor. Los Angeles has struggled to build momentum with Leonard and George missing a combined 41 games due to injury or illness. Friday was just the third game the duo played together this month. Not surprisingly, the Clippers looked like a different team with both stars in the lineup. Leonard led the way with a season-high 36 points in Friday's 131-126 win over the San Antonio Spurs. The five-time All-Star also contributed seven assists, four rebounds and two steals.

01-22-23 | Merrimack -3 v. St Francis NY | 63-55 | Win | 100 | 1 h 24 m | Show
Offensive production has been hard to come by for St. Francis Brooklyn this season, as they are currently ranked 320th in college basketball at 67.2 points per game. A major reason for low-scoring totals is the fact that they have played at a below-average pace, and have struggled to knock down outside shots. As a team, the Terriers’ 3-point shooting percentage sits at just 31.3%, placing them 398th in the NCAA.

01-22-23 | Maryland +9.5 v. Purdue | 55-58 | Win | 100 | 1 h 12 m | Show
In Maryland's win over Michigan on Thursday night, 6-foot-1 Terrapins guard Jahmir Young scored all nine of his field goals in the paint while putting up 26 points. On Sunday, when Maryland faces No. 3 Purdue in West Lafayette, Ind., Young will find an imposing figure waiting for him inside, the Boilermakers' Zach Edey. The 7-foot-4 Edey, who leads the Big Ten in scoring (21.3 points per game) and rebounds (13.0 per game) and ranks second in blocks (2.3 per game), has emerged as a national player of the year candidate as Purdue is off to its best start in program history. In the Boilermakers' 64-63 win at Michigan State on Monday, Edey hit the game-winning shot with 2.2 seconds left, finishing with a career-high 32 points and 17 rebounds. Not as much was needed from Edey on Thursday night as he amassed 12 points, six rebounds and four blocks while Big Ten-leading Purdue (18-1, 7-1) overwhelmed cellar-dwelling Minnesota with defense, 61-39.

01-21-23 | Rockets +8 v. Wolves | Top | 104-113 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 0 m | Show |
The injury report was long and the recent schedule unforgiving, yet for a team that disappointed over the first half of the schedule, the Minnesota Timberwolves finally displayed some impressive mettle Thursday. Despite being down a pair of starters in Karl-Anthony Towns (calf) and Rudy Gobert (groin) plus reserve guards Austin Rivers and Jordan McLaughlin, the Timberwolves rallied from a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit and improved to 6-1 at home this month with a 128-126 victory over the Toronto Raptors. Minnesota has won seven of its last 10 contests. The Timberwolves will host the Houston Rockets on Saturday in the first of back-to-back games between the teams, with the home-and-home series concluding on Monday in Houston. After blowing a late lead against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, the Timberwolves mustered the gumption to overcome Toronto. They did so with a collective effort led by D'Angelo Russell, who scored 16 of his 25 points in the fourth, Anthony Edwards (23 points, seven assists, three steals) and Kyle Anderson, who posted a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double.
01-21-23 | Ole Miss +9.5 v. Arkansas | 57-69 | Loss | -105 | 2 h 53 m | Show
Rocked by four straight Southeastern Conference defeats, No. 25 Arkansas is at the crossroads as it prepares to host Ole Miss on Saturday afternoon in Fayetteville, Ark. The Razorbacks (12-6, 1-5 SEC) lost for the fifth time in six games Wednesday night, dropping a 79-76 road decision to Missouri. The Tigers used a 10-0 second-half run to outscore Arkansas down the stretch, 22-9. That included draining all eight free throws in the last half-minute. The setback was a tough one to stomach for coach Eric Musselman and his squad, which held a 10-point lead twice in the second half and seemed poised to sweep the season series from the Tigers. The loss likely will knock the Razorbacks off their precarious perch as the final team in the AP Top 25. With Texas A&M winning its seventh straight game Wednesday, the Aggies could be justified in supplanting Arkansas in the rankings as one of the nation's hottest squads. Of greater concern to Musselman, however, were the four players who fouled out and the Tigers shooting 40 free throws to his team's 26 -- making 23.
01-20-23 | Nets v. Jazz -7.5 | Top | 117-106 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 29 m | Show |
The Brooklyn Nets hope a late, though unsuccessful, comeback attempt on Thursday at Phoenix will give them some momentum entering a Friday game against the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City. After falling behind the Suns by 24 points in the third quarter, the Nets rallied behind the hot hand of Kyrie Irving to pull within two in the final seconds. Though the Nets wound up losing 117-112 to fall to 0-4 since Kevin Durant was lost to a knee injury, Brooklyn coach Jacque Vaughn hopes his team learned a lesson.

01-20-23 | Villanova +4 v. St. John's | Top | 57-49 | Win | 100 | 9 h 35 m | Show |
Two weeks ago, St. John's was encouraged by its performance in a close loss at Providence, and now the Red Storm are feeling even more positive about recent results. Coming off a double-digit win at No. 15 UConn, the Red Storm seek a third straight victory Friday night when they host Villanova at Madison Square Garden. Starting with a 78-63 defeat at Villanova on Dec. 21, the Red Storm (13-6, 3-5 Big East) lost five straight, falling to Xavier, Seton Hall, Marquette and Providence. In the 83-80 setback to the Friars, St. John's rallied to tie twice in the second half after facing an eight-point deficit and coach Mike Anderson liked the energy. Anderson had plenty to enjoy in the subsequent two games, a 16-point home win over Butler on Jan. 10 and Sunday's 85-74 win against the Huskies in Hartford, Conn. On Sunday, the Red Storm outscored UConn 47-36 in the second half, shot 51.7 percent for the game, allowed 41.8 percent shooting and forced 21 turnovers. As usual, St. John's received a big game from NCAA double-doubles leader Joel Soriano, who collected 19 points and 13 rebounds for his 16th double-double.

01-18-23 | Pacers +4.5 v. Thunder | 106-126 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 7 m | Show
After playing much of the last two seasons firmly in the shadow of Oklahoma City Thunder teammate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Josh Giddey is starting to find some time in the spotlight. Heading into Wednesday's matchup with the visiting Indiana Pacers, Giddey is playing the best basketball of his young career. The second-year guard has scored 20 or more points in three consecutive games, including a 28-point performance in Sunday's win at Brooklyn, which matches a career-high. Giddey has scored at least 20 points in eight of his last 12 contests. "Josh has been really good," Gilgeous-Alexander said. "He's being aggressive, he's making the right play, he's playing super-efficient basketball. The kid works hard and he has the mental (game), for sure." Over the last nine games, Giddey is shooting 52.7 percent from the floor, raising his season percentage to 47.9 after shooting just under 42 percent as a rookie.
