01-16-22 | Rockets v. Kings -5.5 | Top | 118-112 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 57 m | Show |
One game after setting a season-high in scoring in a game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento forward Marvin Bagley III did it again Friday against the Houston Rockets, producing his fourth double-double with 26 points and 13 rebounds in a 126-114 win at home. Bagley was instrumental in the Kings' victory and if Sacramento is to complete a sweep of its back-to-back against the Rockets, with the second game slated for Sunday at Sacramento, the Kings will need more of the production he has delivered of late. I think they win this one easy.
01-16-22 | Loyola Maryland v. Lehigh UNDER 134.5 | Top | 69-57 | Win | 100 | 3 h 7 m | Show |
Two of the worst offensive in College Basketball get together with a number that's pretty close to what I expected it to be, but I just can't imagine either stringing enough positive possessions together to push this game under.
01-15-22 | Lakers v. Nuggets -3.5 | Top | 96-133 | Win | 100 | 7 h 43 m | Show |
Those small-ball deficiencies were on full display Wednesday, as the Lakers’ weak point-of-attack defense caused them to give up 70 points in the paint to the Kings, the most they had given up in any game this season. This has been a trend this week, as they gave up 62 points in the paint to the Grizzlies on Sunday, their third-highest mark of the year. Until that changes, I can't back them to cash a ticket.
01-15-22 | Avalanche v. Coyotes UNDER 6.5 | Top | 5-0 | Win | 104 | 7 h 17 m | Show |
Love how the Coyotes were so close to making the oddsmaker spay for their ridiculous number on this game (-700) with it turning out to be a competitive game, allowing Coyote PL bettors to cash a +195 ticket. This game will be a little tighter with 6.5 being too much.
01-15-22 | Knicks +2.5 v. Hawks | Top | 117-108 | Win | 100 | 5 h 7 m | Show |
The Knicks are coming off a 108-85 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. New York has won two straight and seven of its last 10. Atlanta gave up a seven-point fourth-quarter lead and dropped a 124-118 decision to the Miami Heat on Friday. The Hawks have lost four in a row and eight of their last 10. The Hawks are 3 1/2 games outside the final playoff spot, currently held by New York.
01-15-22 | Stars v. Lightning UNDER 6 | Top | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 5 h 59 m | Show |
Despite the season being almost halfway over the Lightning are still yet to play with their optimal line-up so far. As it was already confirmed, Ondrej Palat is out until California trip. Ryan McDonagh, who hasn’t played since January 6, is getting closer to his return per Derek Lalonde and could play tonight. It was a good sign when he participated in drills at yesterday's morning practice. Erik Cernak, who couldn’t finish Thursday’s game is also questionable for tonight’s game. Cernak has been dealing with nagging injuries over the past two seasons and has already missed 18 games this season.
01-15-22 | Bethune-Cookman v. Mississippi Valley State UNDER 141.5 | Top | 62-60 | Win | 100 | 2 h 16 m | Show |
The Delta Devils quite possibly have the worst defensive team in the country, too bad they're playing a Wildcats team who could make the case for being one of the worst offensive teams in College Basketball. I envision a sloppy game that will easily get us another ticket cashed.
01-15-22 | Houston Baptist v. McNeese State UNDER 141.5 | Top | 75-78 | Loss | -105 | 2 h 5 m | Show |
The Cowboys are finally able to get a legit home game after their arena was damaged by Hurricane Laura and Delta in 2020. Houston Baptist will be what the doctor ordered as emotions and energy will be high, I think that leads to a tough defensive game. This number is way off my power ratings with or without the excitement surrounding the arena.
01-15-22 | UL - Lafayette v. Texas State UNDER 137.5 | Top | 68-72 | Loss | -110 | 1 h 2 m | Show |
Sometimes it takes a minute to put my games up because I actually, wait for it, handicap games. When College Basketball hits it makes it more time consuming, so I do apologize for the plays getting out a little later. It's more important that I'm right than early, something I was taught a long time ago in the media world. The reason I bring this up is because that extra work has found this gem. I never care who's playing as long as the match is right. I have the bookmakers off at least 5-7 points in this one, so we're going to make them pay for that oversight.
01-14-22 | Stars v. Panthers OVER 6.5 | Top | 1-7 | Win | 100 | 2 h 11 m | Show |
The Panthers have played in seven straight overs and is 27-11-4 against teams with a winning record dating back to last season. Top line for the Stars is really starting to flex their muscles after Joe Pavelski had his first career 5 point night against the Seattle Kraken. Roope Hintz, Jason Robertson, and Pavelski now have 10 goals in their last five games combined and 36 combined points over their last 10. That gives me enough confidence that this line will give us a few goals towards this total.
01-13-22 | Flyers v. Bruins OVER 6 | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 29 m | Show |
Tuukka Rask will get the start in net for the Boston Bruins tonight which will likely cause bettors to go under the total, also considering the Bruins played last night. I can't rely on Carter Hart to be sharp and I need to see if it's Tuukka time again in Boston before I jump back in with unders because of my belief in Rask.
01-13-22 | Northern Kentucky v. Youngstown State UNDER 137.5 | Top | 68-67 | Win | 100 | 6 h 19 m | Show |
The Norse have shot 40% from the field this season making them one of the worst offensive teams in College Basketball. They're not great defensively either but they are playing a Penguins team that doesn't have enough weapons to take advantage.
01-12-22 | NC State v. Louisville UNDER 149.5 | Top | 79-63 | Win | 100 | 6 h 59 m | Show |
In their earlier meeting, NC State made 50% of its two-point attempts against a pretty good Cardinal's defense, and that was despite Dereon Seabron shooting only 4-13 inside the arc. NC State has shot 50% or better inside the arc exactly one time since this game. Louisville, meanwhile, shot only 43.8% inside the arc. I don't expect either to happen again, but I do expect another under with the books making a 12-pt adjustment from game one.
01-12-22 | Seattle Kraken v. Stars OVER 6 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 106 | 7 h 25 m | Show |
The Kraken enter Wednesday's game with a 10-20-4 record through 34 games, including a 4-9-2 mark on the road. Since Nov. 27, the Kraken have averaged 3.50 goals per game on the road, tied for fourth in the league. They've lost six in a row (0-5-1) dating to Dec. 15 and have gone 1-7-2 in their past 10. They'll do just enough to push this game over.
01-11-22 | Warriors v. Grizzlies UNDER 221 | Top | 108-116 | Loss | -107 | 7 h 43 m | Show |
This is the third duel of the season series between both teams, being teams from the same Conference, these duels are of vital importance for future tiebreakers at the end of the season. At the moment, the series is tied at 1 game per side, the first of them was a Memphis victory by a score of 104 to 101, while the second was a Golden State victory with a score of 113 to 104. Both duels were led to out at the Chase Center and it will be time for the Grizzlies to look to weigh the home ground. Despite the impact of the match-up in the west, the bookmakers are begging you to take the over in this one.
01-11-22 | Central Arkansas v. Bellarmine UNDER 150 | Top | 63-85 | Win | 100 | 3 h 28 m | Show |
Belllarmine is one of the best teams in College Basketball at limiting opposition possessions. My sources say that pace of game will dictate that this will not come anywhere near the outrageous total.
01-10-22 | Western Carolina v. East Tennessee State OVER 150 | Top | 69-87 | Win | 100 | 3 h 21 m | Show |
These are two of the worst defensive teams in College Basketball which is why the total is so high. The bookmakers are begging you to take the under but we're sharper than that because we know the pace of the game will easily be an over pace.
01-09-22 | Red Wings v. Ducks UNDER 6 | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -120 | 12 h 48 m | Show |
The under is 5-2 in this series and 9-1-1 in the Ducks last 11 games. The under is 33-16-3 when their opponents score two goals or less in their previous game.
01-09-22 | Nuggets -7 v. Thunder | Top | 99-95 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 45 m | Show |
Oklahoma City’s defense has impressed at times throughout the season (especially as of late) but is still vulnerable when it comes to defending beyond the arc. Opponents have attempted 40.8 percent of their total shot attempts from deep against the Thunder, the third-highest frequency in the league. Even more damaging for Oklahoma City’s defense is that teams have connected on 36.3 percent of those attempts, a top-10 percentage in the league. After a slow start from downtown to begin the season, the Nuggets come on in recent weeks and are up to 34.6 percent from beyond the arc on the year. 3-point attempts have accounted for 38.2 percent of Denver’s total shot attempts, a frequency near the top 10 of the league.
01-08-22 | Blackhawks v. Golden Knights UNDER 6 | Top | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 18 h 56 m | Show |
The return of MAF to the Fortress will be as an emotional return as any they'll have this week. I think the Blackhawks will play as hard in front of Fleury as they have at any point in the season. The last thing they want to do is have MAF embarrassed. Stop Vegas transition will be the key.
01-08-22 | Magic v. Pistons -2 | Top | 92-97 | Win | 100 | 15 h 48 m | Show |
Obviously not a marquee match-up but it's definitely a winner. Why? Because the Pistons are still working hard on defense. They are 7-30 but we know we'll get their best effort and against the Magic that's good enough for a blowout win.
01-06-22 | Clippers v. Suns OVER 220 | Top | 89-106 | Loss | -113 | 8 h 18 m | Show |
When they’re down a couple of guys, these Clippers have quite the knack for pulling themselves back from the brink, or beating a team they’d be expected to take some hits from even when fully healthy. On the other hand, they’ve also shown themselves capable of letting games go against sides they’d expect to be taking to task. Luckily for Ty Lue’s men, their next opponents, the Phoenix Suns, fall very much into the former category, and this squad already has the muscle memory of picking up a win against last year’s Western Conference champions with key players sitting it out on the sidelines.
01-06-22 | Seattle University -9.5 v. Chicago State | Top | 93-77 | Win | 100 | 5 h 55 m | Show |
In games played through Jan. 3, Seattle U ranks among the nation's top 50 in five team categories: 15th in 3-pt FG per game (10.5)19th in 3-pt FGs made (137)32nd in 3-pt FG attempts (371)42nd in turnover margin (3.5)45th in assist to turnover ratio (1.33)
01-06-22 | Tenn-Martin v. Tennessee State -5 | Top | 94-78 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 24 m | Show |
Tennessee State is one of the better offenses in College Basketball as they face one of the worst defenses. Tennessee State isn't much better but I'm not sure Martin has the ability to exploit State's weakness.
01-06-22 | Binghamton v. Albany -4 | Top | 88-79 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 5 m | Show |
Back to my old stomping grounds for this match-up. The Great Danes are one of the bets in College Basketball in limiting opponents possesions which works in their hands because Binghamtion isn't a team that will push the pace. Albany opens this one up in the second half.
01-05-22 | Warriors -5.5 v. Mavs | Top | 82-99 | Loss | -106 | 7 h 59 m | Show |
Dallas is still without several key players. Trey Burke (health and safety protocols) is questionable; Willie Cauley-Stein (personal reasons) is out; Boban Marjanović (health and safety protocols) is out; Kristaps Porzingis (health and safety protocols) is out; Isaiah Thomas (health and safety protocols) is out. Dirk is getting his jersey retired after the game in an effort to ensure the Mavericks are not distracted but I've seen too many of these special nights not go the home team's way, no matter when the ceremony is held.
01-05-22 | Oilers v. Maple Leafs -1.5 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 6 h 30 m | Show |
The news about Connor McDavid being out is huge considering this is an Oilers team who is once again struggling for an identity and what they have will not be playing. Rumors are swirling about another coaching change which I think would be a mistake but this is a franchise that has struggled for a long time.
01-04-22 | Jets v. Coyotes OVER 5.5 | Top | 3-1 | Loss | -116 | 8 h 21 m | Show |
The Jets proved one thing since Paul Maurice left, his players are willing to get pucks to the net and then crash the net for greasy goals. They are willing to go into the corners and win puck battles. The win against the Vegas Golden Knights showed that it wasn't the message but the voice that has made the difference in Winnipeg.
01-04-22 | Suns -7.5 v. Pelicans | Top | 123-110 | Win | 100 | 7 h 58 m | Show |
Phoenix has won seven of its last 10, led by its deep and balanced roster. During this most recent stretch, the Suns have eight different players averaging double figures. Devin Booker is playing to form, averaging more than 24 points per game. Chris Paul and DeAndre Ayton remain a lethal pick and roll combo. Monty Williams has scored in the post and on the perimeter on his bench as well. If that wasn’t enough to deal with, the Suns are as good as anyone in the NBA at stopping teams from scoring.
01-04-22 | Colgate v. Lehigh +9.5 | Top | 81-85 | Win | 100 | 5 h 12 m | Show |
It's hard to understand why this number is so high with both teams being an unreliable source of offense and with Colgate being one of the worst defensive teams in College Basketball.
01-03-22 | Maryland v. Iowa UNDER 151.5 | Top | 75-80 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 54 m | Show |
This is an Iowa team that will put up and give up a lot of points but with this being Maryland's first true road test of the season, I'm not sure if they can do their part getting us over the total. I need to see how they react in a hostile environment when they haven't exactly been a model of consistency at home or in their Neutral site games.
01-03-22 | Oilers v. Rangers OVER 6.5 | Top | 1-4 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 43 m | Show |
The Oilers are tied for the third-most first-period goals in the NHL (35) but theta doesn't help them defensively. Goaltender Mike Smith made his return from a lengthy injury absence against the Blues but has since sustained another injury and is listed as day to day, meaning Mikko Koskinen will likely get the start tonight.
01-02-22 | Mavs v. Thunder OVER 208.5 | Top | 95-86 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 32 m | Show |
The Dallas Mavericks will ring in 2022 and finish a five-game road trip in Oklahoma City on Sunday evening in a game that resembles a round of COVID musical chairs. A trio of Dallas Mavericks were released from the NBA's health and safety protocols on Saturday and (depending on conditioning) able to play vs. the Thunder, First-team All-NBA star Luka Doncic, starter Tim Hardaway Jr. and top rotation player Maxi Kleber were not included on the Mavericks’ afternoon injury/health update. After missing the last 10 games, Doncic back in the lineup would be a sight for sore eyes as Dallas went 5-5 without him. Jalen Brunson has stepped up in Doncic's absence, scoring in double figures in a career-best 16 consecutive games.
01-02-22 | Dartmouth +5 v. Cornell | Top | 71-79 | Loss | -108 | 1 h 26 m | Show |
This one is simple. Dartmouth needs to slow down one of the efficient offenses in the country, something they've struggled with this season. This number looks funny to me so we're not going to pass against what the bookmakers are clearly trying to feed you in this one.
01-02-22 | Lightning +102 v. Rangers | Top | 0-4 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 47 m | Show |
For as bad as Tampa has been over their last three games, they still have a 6-1-1 record against the Rangers. I know Tampa is absolutely getting crushed by Covid but we should get their best effort in this one. I've always thought ot takes a few games for the moving pieces to fall into place. Tampa gets back on track this afternoon.
01-01-22 | Northern Colorado +6.5 v. Southern Utah | Top | 91-81 | Win | 100 | 5 h 16 m | Show |
The Thunderbirds have been a profitable spread team this season but when asked to cover a bigger number like this one they are just 2-4 ATS. They're are not a great shooting team so the Bears will have their chances to stay close. NC is 7-4-1 against the number this year.
01-01-22 | Nebraska-Omaha +18 v. Oral Roberts | Top | 62-107 | Loss | -117 | 5 h 31 m | Show |
For as bad as the Mavericks have been this season, Oral Roberts is a turnover machine and can't be trusted to cover such a big number. If there's one strength of the Mavericks it's they are well-coached and not sloppy. This will prove too large of a number.
01-01-22 | Clippers v. Nets OVER 213.5 | Top | 120-116 | Win | 100 | 13 h 43 m | Show |
The over is 6-1 in this series and the over is 5-1 when the Clippers starting five play over 160 minutes the night before. The over is 9-4 in Nets last 13 following an ATS loss.
01-01-22 | Senators v. Maple Leafs -1.5 | Top | 0-6 | Win | 100 | 13 h 53 m | Show |
The Ottawa Senators have been a weak play when coming off a day or more off. The Senators haven't played in two weeks, so this certainly qualifies. Toronto has been a strong play at home this season and as we've seen so far, the better teams are putting up a ton of goals.
01-01-22 | Tulane +9.5 v. Cincinnati | Top | 68-60 | Win | 100 | 3 h 22 m | Show |
After nearly two weeks off due to the holidays and COVID-19 postponements, Cincinnati (10-3) opens up its AAC schedule with Tulane (4-6) on Saturday night. UC faced the daunting task of traveling to No. 12 Houston on Tuesday, but injuries and COVID-19 issues caused the game's postponement. The Green Wave had issues of their own in early December due to the virus, but they are healthy now and looked it in their 85-84 upset win over Memphis to start their AAC schedule.
12-31-21 | Blazers v. Lakers -5 | Top | 106-139 | Win | 100 | 9 h 58 m | Show |
The Portland Trailblazers may be just what the doctor ordered for the Los Angeles Lakers. With both teams struggling, it's the Blazers that seem the most lost against the oppositions big men. We saw that against Dallas and Utah, so it's hard to believe that they'll be able to handle D'andre Jordan in this one.
12-31-21 | Wolves v. Jazz -12.5 | Top | 108-120 | Loss | -104 | 6 h 19 m | Show |
Minnesota fell to the New York Knicks in the second game of a back-to-back on Tuesday, 96-88. The loss marked the first time in 20 games the Timberwolves failed to reach 100 points. Guard Malik Beasley led the Wolves with 20 points, but the team struggled to connect from the floor all game, going 7-of-38 from the three-point line in the loss. The Utah Jazz, meanwhile, are in the midst of a five-game winning streak. Utah defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 120-105 on Wednesday led by center Rudy Gobert's 22 points and 14 rebounds. This season, the Jazz have won both meetings to date versus Minnesota, including a 128-116 victory over the Wolves on Dec. 23 in Utah.
12-31-21 | Heat v. Rockets OVER 216.5 | Top | 120-110 | Win | 100 | 5 h 33 m | Show |
The Heat have the challenge of facing a healthy Rockets roster. Herro remains as one of the few standing on this Heat’s roster as the last available starter, with Duncan Robinson being placed on the COVID health protocol list. There is a possibility that the Heat may see the return of both Kyle Lowry and Jimmy Butler, which should take a large burden off of the shoulders off Herro. Nonetheless, it could be a big night for the young superstar.
12-31-21 | Ducks v. Golden Knights OVER 6 | Top | 1-3 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 6 m | Show |
This is a battle between the two top teams in the Pacific Division. That's not something most would have predicted to start the season. The Golden Knights are 6-4-0 against opponents in the Pacific. Vegas is fourth in the NHL averaging 3.6 goals per game, led by Jonathan Marchessault with 16. The Ducks are 7-1-3 against opponents in the Pacific. Anaheim is ninth in the Western Conference with 31.7 shots per game and is averaging 3.2 goals. Expect this match-up to be high-scoring with high-intensity,
12-30-21 | UTEP v. UAB UNDER 138 | Top | 62-75 | Win | 100 | 2 h 32 m | Show |
I suspect that UAB will get their points but on the other side of the ball the Miners are ranked 296th in FG% going against a Blazers team who are one of the Elite defensive teams in the country.
12-29-21 | Jazz -7 v. Blazers | Top | 120-105 | Win | 100 | 11 h 32 m | Show |
The Portland Trail Blazers have their backs firmly against the wall. They are losing games at an alarming rate and with head coach Chauncey Billups and seven players out due to the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols, things could become much worse before they get better for the Blazers. Portland lost its 11th game in 14 outings Monday night, 132-117 to Dallas at home. The Blazers (13-20) entered Tuesday night in 11th place in the Western Conference and appear to be a lot closer to capturing a top-five pick in the 2022 NBA draft than they do a top-six seed in the NBA playoffs.
12-29-21 | Illinois State v. Wisconsin -16.5 | Top | 85-89 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 22 m | Show |
Playing for the first time since Dec. 15, No. 24 Wisconsin (9-2) returns to action to face Illinois State (8-5) in the final non-conference tune-up. Illinois State is likely going to have a ton of problems on the glass against Wisconsin. The Redbirds are one of the worst rebounding teams in the country, allowing 11.4 offensive boards per contest, which ranks No. 345 in college basketball out of 358 teams. In fact, their opponents get about 32 percent of this misses back. Meanwhile, the Badgers are having one of their best years in recent memory on the offensive glass. UW has already posted seven games of double-digit offensive boards. By comparison, this is something the Badgers did just eight times in 2020-21 with an experienced frontcourt. When UW hits 10 or more offensive rebounds, they are 6-1 this season, with the lone loss coming against Providence without Davis.
12-29-21 | Predators v. Capitals OVER 6 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 105 | 9 h 45 m | Show |
Following Monday's practice, the Predators provided a number of player status updates regarding their roster: Ryan Johansen, Mikael Granlund, Nick Cousins, Philip Tomasino, Mark Borowiecki and Ben Harpur have been added to the active roster; Mathieu Olivier, Michael McCarron and Matt Luff were added to the taxi squad; while Roman Josi, Colton Sissons and Tommy Novak were placed on the NHL's COVID-19 protocol list. Additionally, Preds Head Coach John Hynes - as well as assistants Todd Richards, Dan Lambert and Dan Hinote, plus Goaltending Coach Ben Vanderklok - were all back at Monday's practice after returning from the COVID list. In addition, the Capitals have a number of players on the Covod list. If we've learned anything from the first night of games, there will be a lot of scoring. Defense was non-existent. Let's see if that trend continues tonight.
12-28-21 | Golden Knights v. Kings OVER 5.5 | Top | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 45 m | Show |
I struggled with this game because now is the time where you really have to tiptoe through the totals. Normally this would be an automatic under when the Kings face a Western Conference team but they've had their issues with the Knights and with Broissant getting the start for Vegas , I think both teams will have plenty of scoring chances.
12-28-21 | Nuggets v. Warriors -7.5 | Top | 89-86 | Loss | -103 | 8 h 30 m | Show |
The Nuggets remain one of the most inconsistent teams in the NBA on a night-to-night basis. They can hang with the league’s top teams one night before getting blown out by teams that will be picking in the top five next summer in the draft. After the starters were carrying the bench for the first month and a half of the season, the bench has been doing the heavy lifting as of late to keep the team in games. The stars need to start carrying their weight again.
12-28-21 | Knicks -3.5 v. Wolves | Top | 96-88 | Win | 100 | 6 h 8 m | Show |
As of Monday, the Knicks were in decent shape, with only three players — C Nerlens Noel, G Miles McBride and F Jericho Sims — in the league's health and safety protocols. Sims, a Minneapolis native who played at Texas, was in 10 NBA games before going into protocols Thursday. I know the Wolves were terrific against the Celtics with their entire starting line-up out but reality hits them hard tonight.
12-28-21 | North Alabama v. Gonzaga OVER 143.5 | Top | 63-93 | Win | 100 | 2 h 5 m | Show |
GU is coming off a 94-59 victory over Northern Arizona on Dec. 20, in which Chet Holmgren led all scorers with 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds and blocked three shots. The Zags shot 55% from the floor and 45% from deep while forcing 20 turnovers from the Lumberjacks, who were led by Jalen Cone’s 19 points. Along with being the last tune-up game before WCC play, the Zags are expected to be fully rested ahead of Tuesday’s game. The November slate that featured three games in five days, including top-5 matchups against UCLA and Duke, was a test for this young roster. It’s safe to assume that fatigue could have played a role in the nine-point win over Tarleton State at home and a loss to Alabama in Seattle.
12-27-21 | Brown +10.5 v. Syracuse | Top | 62-93 | Loss | -120 | 16 h 53 m | Show |
Defensively, the Orange will need to improve their zone that has been a primary factor in most, if not all, of their losses this season. Brown’s offense isn’t spectacular, but it could still find ways to score if the holes in an SU unit that’s 227th in 3-point defense and 252nd in 2-point defense emerge once again. Patching those areas will be a necessary factor for the Orange to avoid dropping their sixth nonconference game this season.
12-25-21 | Hawks v. Knicks UNDER 212 | Top | 87-101 | Win | 100 | 5 h 14 m | Show |
The NBA has five marquee matchups on Christmas, beginning with the Atlanta Hawks and the New York Knicks, who will battle at Madison Square Garden in a rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference playoffs. Yet, unlike last year’s playoff matchup, this contest will not feature Trae Young, Clint Capela, Danilo Gallinari, Kevin Huerter, Derrick Rose, Nerlens Noel, and more due to injuries and COVID-19 related issues. Atlanta will be without the majority of their normal rotation in this one, leading oddsmakers to price the Knicks as 7.5-point home favorites on the spread at online sportsbooks.
12-21-21 | Morehead State v. IUPU-Indianapolis +16 | Top | 80-52 | Loss | -105 | 16 h 11 m | Show |
The Jaguars defensive is one of the best in the country at limiting offensive possessions. This is too big of a number to cover against a team that could win outright.
12-20-21 | Spurs v. Clippers -4.5 | Top | 116-92 | Loss | -108 | 10 h 20 m | Show |
After a tough loss to the OKC Thunder, the LA Clippers are looking to bounce back at home against the San Antonio Spurs. Currently sitting at 11-18, the Spurs are one of the worst teams in the Western Conference. With several teams right behind them in the standings, the Clippers need to win games like these, especially after falling to the last place Thunder on Saturday.
12-20-21 | Wild v. Stars OVER 5.5 | Top | 4-7 | Win | 100 | 9 h 6 m | Show |
Two nights after a 4-3 overtime victory against Chicago, the Stars look to make it two in a row Monday night against Minnesota. This is the second meeting of the season between the Central Division foes and the second of four head-to-head matchups in the 2021-22 campaign. The Wild took the series opener by a 7-2 score on Nov. 18 at Xcel Energy Center.
12-19-21 | Blazers v. Grizzlies -5.5 | Top | 105-100 | Loss | -107 | 4 h 30 m | Show |
While the Trail Blazers have struggled with defense, the Grizzlies definitely have not. It’s a tough matchup for Portland when their opponents are good defenders, which is going to be an issue with Memphis. The Blazers are going to need to find ways around it, and also play good defense of their own. I think that's too much to ask in this one.
12-19-21 | Heat -7.5 v. Pistons | Top | 90-100 | Loss | -102 | 4 h 22 m | Show |
It will be the second game between these two franchises in this 2021/22 NBA regular season. The previous one occurred a little less than a month ago, on November 23. On that occasion, the Heat beat the Pistons 100-92 with a great performance from Tyler Herro who converted 31 points for Miami. The objectives of each team are quite different: it is clear that with 4-23 they cannot aspire to great things this season and it will be better if they continue with their tanking plan. On the side of the Miami Heat, they have a great opportunity against a weak team to add a victory that would put them on the same line as the Bucks, today 3rd in the Conference.
12-19-21 | Blues v. Jets UNDER 5.5 | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 46 m | Show |
The Jets are trying to recover from the surprise resignation of head coach Paul Maurice last week. The team was underperforming, and Maurice had the mental acuity to realize that maybe the room had been lost and it was time to move on. He was the second longest tenured coach in the league behind Ray Cooper of the Lightning. Winnipeg may be missing Blake Wheeler tonight as well, as he is day to day with a lower body injury, but day to day seems generous considering that he’s going to be out several weeks after getting injured against the Canucks last Friday. The Jets have only won four of their last 14 games, and have fallen out of the playoff picture for now in a very competitive Central Division.
12-18-21 | Baylor v. Oregon OVER 134.5 | Top | 78-70 | Win | 100 | 6 h 54 m | Show |
Oregon’s plan for this game should be relatively simple: pound the ball in the paint. N’Faly Dante is coming off perhaps the best game of his career on Wednesday against the Portland Pilots, dropping 20 points and nine rebounds on 9/11 shooting. Baylor’s guard play is excellent again, despite sending three players to the NBA, but they do not have any established rim protectors under the rim. Their tallest rotation player is the 6’10 Flo Thamba, who is averaging under five points and five rebounds in just 18 minutes per game. The Bears do play physical, and they won’t just allow Dante and freshman Franck Kepnang to establish position and go to work down low, but Oregon has the depth in the frontcourt to continually pound the ball and force Baylor to guard them in the post.
12-18-21 | Cavs -2.5 v. Bucks | Top | 119-90 | Win | 100 | 6 h 9 m | Show |
The Milwaukee Bucks are facing not only a back-to-back but a severely depleted roster as they continue to patch together a team amidst injuries and the health and safety protocols. They fly back to Milwaukee to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers Saturday night.
12-18-21 | Knicks v. Celtics OVER 208.5 | Top | 107-114 | Win | 100 | 4 h 51 m | Show |
Starting center Al Horford and forwards Grant Williams and Sam Hauser were placed in COVID protocol earlier Friday. Celtics forwards Jabari Parker and Juancho Hernangomez landed in the protocol earlier in the week. Boston guard Dennis Schroder also missed the Golden State matchup with a non-COVID illness. I've always said that players out equal offense because the defensive effort, not offensive effort will take a hit.
12-17-21 | Hornets v. Blazers UNDER 230.5 | Top | 116-125 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 13 m | Show |
Who defends worse than the Blazers? Why, the Charlotte Hornets! The Blazers are 27th in the NBA with a defensive rating of 112.4, but the Hornets are dead last at 114.0. Woof. We are in store for a contrast of styles in how the teams give up points though. Charlotte is 29th in the league at not giving up second-chance points, while Portland is actually 5th best. The problem for the Blazers is that opponents don’t have much need for second-chance points since they score so often at the first opportunity.
12-17-21 | South Alabama v. Tarleton St OVER 125 | Top | 52-65 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 4 m | Show |
The Jaguars are one of the better shooting teams in the country, making 47% of their shots, I think they'll have an easy time finding shots against the Texans who have allowed teams true shooting percentage to be around 55%.
12-17-21 | Golden Knights v. Rangers OVER 6 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 23 m | Show |
We know that Laurant Brossoit will get the start for Vegas, his first in a week. Last time out he gave up four goals on just 25 shots against the Flyers, in a 4-3 loss. I didn’t think Vegas played well in front of him at times, we saw Dadonov lose sight of Kevin Hayes in a 4 on 4 situation, which resulted in the Flyer's first goal. He does have a tendency to lose track of the puck at times but at the same time Vegas has to do a better job of clearing out space for him but there are times where we’ve seen him get beat on shots that he should have. I think he’s a decent enough 5 on 5 GT but it’s on the PK where I worry about Brossoit. I think this is a chance for Vegas to be real aggressive early because the Rangers have not come out strong of late all though they seemed to find their pace in their recent games against Colorado and Arizona.
12-16-21 | Knicks v. Rockets OVER 213.5 | Top | 116-103 | Win | 100 | 5 h 12 m | Show |
The Rockets are incredibly thin right now. Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green were their starting guards. Eric Gordon was the first backup guard off the bench. Danuel House Jr. is a key rotation piece, and Christian Wood is still Houston’s best big man. With so many players out, it wasn’t surprising that Houston’s defense struggled to contain Cleveland’s offense. I expect more of the same tonight. Remember, minute redistribution leads to higher scoring games because players want to impress with offense.
12-16-21 | Avalanche v. Predators OVER 6 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 7 h 3 m | Show |
The Avalanche doubled up the Rangers 4-2 to close out their homestand 3-0. Overall, Colorado has won five consecutive games, outscoring the opposition by a 28-15 score. Colorado also hasn’t lost in regulation in seven games since Dec. 1, in Toronto. The Predators have won five consecutive games, including a 1-0 road win against the New York Rangers on Sunday. These teams last met Nov. 27, with Nashville falling 6-2 in Colorado.
12-16-21 | College of Charleston v. Stetson OVER 147 | Top | 59-67 | Loss | -116 | 2 h 58 m | Show |
The Cougars have been cranking out over's this season and we're going right back to the well to see if they can improve to 10-3 to the over. The numbers would indicate that both teams should go over but I've seen this too many times where the bookmaker has an opinion and they're trying to bait you into taking the other side.
12-15-21 | New Mexico State v. Washington State OVER 136.5 | Top | 64-61 | Loss | -104 | 7 h 48 m | Show |
New Mexico State has been playing well of late but their 26 turnovers against Loyola Marymount le to 32 points for the Lions. If they do that against the Cougars the outcome won't be so favorable. The Cougars will put up a better effort than they did against North Dakota State after fighting through injuries and sickness.
12-15-21 | Lakers v. Mavs OVER 213 | Top | 107-104 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 19 m | Show |
Expect the Mavericks to take less 3's than normal, which may not look great while betting the over, but with the way they've been shooting from beyond the arc, it may be a blessing. I expect the Mavericks to get to the FT line more because they''ll be more aggressive to the rim. Perhaps they'll find their touch from 3 tonight but the game plan is to scrap the bombs away approach.
12-14-21 | Arkansas-Pine Bluff v. Texas -35 | Top | 31-63 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 60 m | Show |
No. 17 Texas will look to get back on the winning track and remain unbeaten at home when the Longhorns host hapless Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday in Austin, Texas. The Longhorns (6-2) return to the floor after a 64-60 loss on the road at then-No. 23 Seton Hall on Thursday that snapped Texas' five-game win streak. The Golden Lions are 0-9 on the road this season and have already dropped road games, in blowout fashion, to two teams from the Big 12 Conference -- Iowa State (83-64) and Baylor (99-54). Arkansas-Pine Bluff's 10 losses have come by an average of 23.3 points per game. Its only win this season was by five points over Arkansas Baptist College, an NAIA program.
12-14-21 | Warriors v. Knicks OVER 211.5 | Top | 105-96 | Loss | -107 | 5 h 21 m | Show |
This game is going to get bet down because of the trouble that Golden State had getting out of Indiana. They will arrive in New York just five hours before tip-off. Many think this hurts the offense but I've always thought this is a play to the offense because the rotation is deeper with guys who want to prove themselves. First game between these two flew over the total and this will too.
12-14-21 | Warriors -4.5 v. Knicks | Top | 105-96 | Win | 100 | 5 h 52 m | Show |
The Golden State Warriors plane will not show up in New York until five hours before tip-off. We see the public react in the only they have for decades, by betting against the team having all the problems. That's not how we're going to attack this. The Warriors are a better team and the bench may be utilized more which is fine because guys want to get noticed when they get more minutes, and you do that by scoring. Wait because you'll likely get a better number closer to gametime
12-13-21 | Wizards v. Nuggets -3.5 | Top | 107-113 | Win | 100 | 9 h 45 m | Show |
Monday night’s game opens what will be Washington’s longest stretch of consecutive road games this season – a six-game trip comprised of matchups with Denver, Sacramento, Phoenix, Utah, Brooklyn and New York. The road has presented a challenge for the Wizards this season. They’ve gone 7-8 in their first 15 road games compared to 8-4 at Capital One Arena, but are looking at the trip as an opportunity at a time when they need a spark. Nikola Jokic, the NBA’s reigning Most Valuable Player, is coming off a dominant performance Friday night in San Antonio and is playing some of his best basketball of his career. Against the Spurs, Jokic totaled 35 points, 17 rebounds, eight assists and a pair of blocks – making if three of the last five games he’s scored at least 32 points. Jokic has recorded double-digit rebounds in each of his last nine games and a triple-double in three of his last four.
12-13-21 | Rhode Island v. Wisc-Milwaukee OVER 128.5 | Top | 82-58 | Win | 100 | 6 h 51 m | Show |
The Rhode Island Rams have been solid to begin this season as they are 7-3 to begin the regular season. They are being led by sophomore center Makhel Mitchell so far and that is going to help them progress throughout the regular season. They are coming off a 72-62 home win over the Sacred Heart Pioneers. The biggest problem that popped up was the fact they allowed the Pioneers to shoot 43.8 percent from the field throughout the game. The defense needs to step up more consistently as they are allowing 36.4 percent of shots to fall against them and are giving up 62.8 ppg, which is 52nd in the nation. Until I see progress on the defensive end, I will likely go over in many Rams games.
12-12-21 | Hurricanes v. Canucks OVER 5.5 | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -109 | 11 h 51 m | Show |
Vancouver ranks second in the Western Conference with 33.5 shots per game and is averaging 2.4 goals. If they can give us three, we'll have more than enough to go over this total.
12-12-21 | Pelicans v. Spurs UNDER 220 | Top | 97-112 | Win | 100 | 7 h 58 m | Show |
While the Pelicans are still waiting for former top overall pick Zion Williamson to return from an offseason foot injury (and he’s close), Brandon Ingram is leading the charge with 22.7 ppg. While they aren’t a huge offensive threat — they sit just 26th in the league at scoring with 103.9 points per game — the real threat they represent to the Spurs in on the boards.
12-12-21 | Mavs v. Thunder OVER 207 | Top | 103-84 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 49 m | Show |
The Thunder’s opponents on Sunday are a team that is littered with unrealised potential. When the Mavericks swung a trade for Kristaps Porzingis, there was an expectation that Dallas would kick on and start making deep playoff runs. This season feels like the Mavericks are stuck in the weeds. Dallas have one of the best young stars in the sport in Doncic but he has not performed at the same level that he did last year. Luka played a full Olympic campaign with Slovenia before taking time off from basketball before returning for training camp.
12-11-21 | Stars -110 v. Sharks | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 30 m | Show |
San Jose has totaled 11 goals over the last three games, but allowed 14 during the same span. Adin Hill has yielded 11 of those goals while starting each one of those contests. Teammate James Reimer has stopped 61 of the 63 shots he's faced in his last two games, recording one shutout, but an illness has kept him from making a start in December. The Shars are going to fade and I want to catch it before it happens, I think this may be the start tonight.
12-11-21 | Warriors v. 76ers OVER 212.5 | Top | 93-102 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 48 m | Show |
Philadelphia’s defense is not well-equipped for this matchup against the Warriors. Golden State attempts the third-most three-pointers of any team in the NBA. Philadelphia ranks 20th in the league defending the perimeter this season, which was a problem in their last game as well–allowing the Utah Jazz to hit 15 shots from beyond the arc. Even though both teams come in playing well defensively, this game will fly over the total because of the Sixers perimeter defense.
12-11-21 | Alabama A&M v. Samford -12.5 | Top | 50-52 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 25 m | Show |
Samford is ranked third in College Basketball in possessions per game, so you can bet that they'll have plenty of chance to extend their lead in the second half to give us a cover. Contain Garrett Hicks, we'll have an easy cover.
12-10-21 | Flyers v. Golden Knights OVER 6 | Top | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 6 m | Show |
You expected the Flyers to get punked against the Colorado Avalanche but against the Devils you figured there would be some kind of reset button with Mike Yeo coming in, they lost 3-0. Word is that this isn’t a good room right now and you can’t really be shocked by that. This is a Devils team that’s well below .500 and had lost four straight, they still easily controlled the Flyers. Travis Sanheim said and I quote “I think a lot of the issues with execution comes to confidence, and obviously, we don’t have a ton of that right now. This is a track meet with Vegas providing the punch to get us over.
12-10-21 | Lakers -4.5 v. Thunder | Top | 116-95 | Win | 100 | 7 h 32 m | Show |
The Thunder are ranked dead last in points per game (with the offensive rating of 100.3 per 100 possessions) in the league. They’re also at the bottom of the league in 3-point percentage (30.9%). The Lakers have to make sure all that continues by getting stops and converting their defense to offense in Friday’s game.
12-09-21 | Jets -105 v. Seattle Kraken | Top | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 14 h 48 m | Show |
I don’t understand the constant love in the line for the Kraken. This isn’t the craziest number this year but I still expected this number to be -120 or more even with a recent loss to Arizona where once again Vehmelka had to stand on his head to get a win. I know that the Jets haven’t played well of late but they are still a likely wild card team, whereas Seattle is certainly in the lower half of the league, I think these types of games are measuring sticks to see how far you’ve fallen. If you really look at the Jets of late, they beat Calgary and then got Vehmelka’d against the Yotes then beat Toronto and Jersey before losing to Carolina. It says 3-6-1 in their last 10 but I can argue that haven’t played a bad game in their last five, even battled back from 2-0 against the Cane’s.
12-09-21 | Merrimack v. Gonzaga UNDER 136.5 | Top | 55-80 | Win | 100 | 8 h 54 m | Show |
Though the Warriors record and offense don’t necessarily jump out at you, the Warriors do have a rather interesting defense when it comes to on-ball pressure and disrupting passing lanes. They rank ninth in the country in steal rate and rank 22nd in the country in steals per game, which is notable because of the slow-as-molasses pace they like to play (350th adjust tempo in KenPom). They'll do just enough to keep this game under the total.
12-09-21 | Lakers -3 v. Grizzlies | Top | 95-108 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 12 m | Show |
Frank Vogel and the team made a notable pre-game adjustment prior to the Celtics game, starting Anthony Davis at center. Dwight Howard left the starting lineup (after only being in it one game) while Avery Bradley re-entered the lineup after missing two games due to a thumb injury. The lineup proved to be extremely successful for the team, even if it got off to a rough start at the beginning of the game (a rough start that was mostly due to Jayson Tatum shooting lights out with 14 points in the first four minutes of the game). As is to be expected, AD starting at the five ended up improving the team’s spacing dramatically, leading to the offense getting to the rim all night. This resulted in the Lakers outscoring the Celtics 66-42 in the paint.
12-09-21 | Jazz -3 v. 76ers | Top | 118-96 | Win | 100 | 10 h 7 m | Show |
The Jazz have found some rhythm having won each of their last five games as they continue to stake their claim as a force in the West. Featuring outstanding displays by Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, the Jazz will attempt to make up for the losses they faced earlier in the season. The win against the Timberwolves saw a balanced performance from their key players. Rudy Gobert registered a double-double and Jordan Clarkson managed 18 points off the bench. The Jazz also saw Donovan Mitchell lead the scoring effort with 36 points.
12-08-21 | Dayton v. SMU OVER 136 | Top | 69-77 | Win | 100 | 4 h 54 m | Show |
The Flyers have dominated the paint offensively, hitting 57.9% of their 2-point attempts, which ranks 15th in the nation. They’ve struggled with taking care of the basketball, as they rank 271st in turnover percentage. Dayton owns a well-balanced offense that has seven players averaging over 6.0 points per game this season. The group utilizes its depth and saw five players score in double figures in the upset victory over Kansas.
12-07-21 | Hurricanes -102 v. Jets | Top | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 7 h 17 m | Show |
First game of a road trip, give that to me all day. That's when teams are at their best with an extra sprinkle of we want to get this trip off to a good start. Carolina hasn't been playing great of late, but a quality win on the road will right the ship.
12-07-21 | Nets v. Mavs UNDER 221 | Top | 102-99 | Win | 100 | 5 h 22 m | Show |
The under has cashed four of the Mavs’ past five games played in the month of December. Though the team is 0-5 ATS in their previous five matches versus Eastern Conference opponents, and they are 1-4 SU in their prior five contests this season. Dallas has gone under the total in 10 of their previous 13 matches against Atlantic Division opponents.
12-07-21 | North Carolina A&T v. East Carolina -10 | Top | 71-82 | Win | 100 | 3 h 46 m | Show |
The Aggies are just 2-7-1 ATS against teams with a winning record and 1-6-2 against teams with a win percentage over .600. The Pirates are 5-2 ATS following a SU win.
12-06-21 | Coyotes v. Stars UNDER 5.5 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 58 m | Show |
The Stars’ special teams are a mixed bag, but their power play and penalty kill are better than the Coyotes. The Stars have the fourth-best power play, which means the Coyotes will want to stay disciplined and not take too many stupid penalties. Dallas’ penalty kill is much weaker and is currently ranked 20th in the NHL. But despite the low ranking, the Stars haven’t given up a power play goal since before the last Coyotes’ game, giving up a power play goal to the St. Louis Blues on November 20th. Dallas’ weaker penalty kill may be partially explained by the Stars is one of the least penalized teams in the league.
12-06-21 | Alcorn State v. Houston -32.5 | Top | 45-77 | Loss | -106 | 5 h 51 m | Show |
Even with all the new faces, the Houston Cougars had great expectations following the program's first Final Four appearance in 37 years. In truth, those expectations were unfair. The Cougars have performed exceptionally in the early stages of this season, with No. 15 Houston (7-1) producing a 111-44 home victory over Bryant last Friday that tied for the third-largest margin of victory in program history. The Cougars will host Alcorn State (1-6) on Monday and, in all likelihood, will record a third consecutive blowout triumph.
12-06-21 | 76ers v. Hornets OVER 216.5 | Top | 127-124 | Win | 100 | 6 h 32 m | Show |
The Hornets are three games into a five-game stretch facing some of the better teams in the Eastern Conference, and they are being forced to do so now without a host of key players who are under the league’s COVID protocols. After dropping games to Chicago and Milwaukee last week the shorthanded Hornets rallied for a great road win yesterday against the Atlanta Hawks. The Hornets will now host the Philadelphia 76ers tonight and in a bizarre scheduling quirk, the two teams will play again on Wednesday in Charlotte. With players out of the line-up I've always believed that it benefits the over because players back-ups aren't usually bringing a great defensive game to the table, they want to get out and run so they can show what they can do during their chance for more minutes.
12-05-21 | Lightning v. Flyers OVER 5.5 | Top | 7-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 7 m | Show |
The Lightning, at times, hasn't looked like the team that has won back-to-back Stanley Cups. They've now lost three straight games at home but the Flyers may be the team that finally puts them in the win column. One thing is for sure, they'll have plenty of chances against the undisciplined Flyers. The Flyers are 3-7-3 in conference play. Philadelphia averages 9.2 penalty minutes per game, the seventh-most in the Eastern Conference. Nate Thompson leads the team serving 29 total minutes. Last time out the Lightning beat Philly 4-0, the game will be a different story tonight.
12-05-21 | Jazz v. Cavs UNDER 212.5 | Top | 109-108 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 2 m | Show |
In the Cavaliers last 10 games, they are 5-5, averaging 104.4 points, 46.9 rebounds, 23.7 assists, 6.0 steals and 4.8 blocks per game while shooting 44.2% from the field. Their opponents have averaged 101.1 points per game.
12-04-21 | Spurs v. Warriors -9.5 | Top | 112-107 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 25 m | Show |
The basketball world’s 2-year reprieve from the dominance of the Golden State Warriors appears to have reached its conclusion early on in the 2021-2022 campaign. After nearly sneaking into the playoffs last season as the lower seed no one wants to play against when April rolls around, they”ve come back with a few tweaks. Last year’s success was largely built on one of the league’s best defenses (a top 5 unit) and the ridiculous offensive prowess of scoring champion Stephen Curry, who went on a tear after the All Star Break. That prowess was able to cover up a lot of Golden State’s deficiencies on the offensive end, where they finished just 20th in offensive rating. This year, the defense is just as good, while the offense is once again humming at the level fan’s became accustomed to during their 5-year dominance over the Western Conference. At 19-3, they have the make-up of a team that can make a deep run in the playoffs.
12-04-21 | Heat v. Bucks -5.5 | Top | 102-124 | Win | 100 | 12 h 59 m | Show |
In game one between these two teams on opening night, the Heat lit up Milwaukee for 137 points. This time, Erick Spoelstra’s team will be without Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo for their encounter with the Milwaukee Bucks. They are unlikely to reproduce the same scoring barrage without two of their best players for the rematch. It’ll be a tough matchup for the Miami Heat on the road against the resurgent home team.
12-04-21 | Blue Jackets v. Capitals OVER 6 | Top | 1-3 | Loss | -108 | 11 h 28 m | Show |
After much discussion, I've given in to my colleagues on this game. I contest that if the defense zone transition gets cleaned up for the Jackets they will try to slow this game down. However, I'm not sure the Capitals are the team you try to improve on considering their aggressive nature and scoring depth. I'm going with the over in this one because I simply can't trust the Jackets to not make mistakes in their own end. |
