Toronto halted its own four-game losing streak Wednesday night with a 135-128 victory over Atlanta in the series opener. The Raptors, not known for their ability to hit from long range, shot 52.9 percent from 3-point range (18 of 34). Atlanta made it close when Bogdan Bogdanovic sank two 3-pointers to cut Toronto's lead to 109-107 with 6:26 left in the game. Jakob Poeltl blocked Hawks guard Trae Young on two occasions as the Raptors regained control.

12-14-23 | Nets v. Nuggets OVER 230 | Top | 101-124 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 55 m | Show |
The Nets are 6-4 in their last 10 road games against the Nuggets, including a 122-120 victory last season. Prior to their current run, the Nets were 8-32 in road games against Denver since the teams joined the NBA in 1976.The Nets are averaging 118.6 points on the road and 115.6 at home, on track to be the fourth straight season they've had a higher average when playing away from Brooklyn. The only other teams to have averaged more points on the road than at home over the last four seasons combined are the Hornets and Timberwolves.
12-14-23 | Lightning v. Oilers -170 | Top | 7-4 | Loss | -170 | 8 h 8 m | Show |
In their only other game this season, Tampa Bay scored four third-period goals to beat Edmonton, 6-4, on November 18. Since Rogers Place opened at the start of the 2016-17 season, the Oilers are 4-1-0 at home versus the Lightning.Tampa Bay is 5-9-2 on the road this season after a 4-1 loss at Vancouver on Tuesday. Twelve points is the fewest the Lightning have earned through their first 16 road games since 2012-13, when they had 10 points (5-11-0).
12-14-23 | Wolves v. Mavs -1.5 | Top | 119-101 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 38 m | Show |
Dallas leads the NBA in made threes per game (16.3) while also having the fewest turnovers per game (11.9). A team has led the league in both categories in the same season three times previously with two of those being by the Mavs (1984-85 & 1985-86, also Knicks 2012-13).Luka Doncic is currently averaging 32.0+ points, 8.0+ rebounds and 8.0+ assists per game for the second consecutive season. The only other such season in NBA history was accomplished by Michael Jordan in 1988-89.
12-14-23 | Chargers v. Raiders UNDER 34.5 | Top | 21-63 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 5 m | Show |
Easton Stick is expected to make his first career start with Justin Herbert out for the season with a fractured index finger. Stick will be the fourth different starting quarterback for the Chargers since 2006 -- every other team has used at least seven starting QBs in that span. The Raiders were shut out at home last week, 3-0, their fewest points allowed in a loss. It was their second time being shut out since last season (2022 Week 8 at Saints). The only other time the Raiders had a shutout loss in back-to-back seasons was in 2008-2009.
12-14-23 | Senators v. Blues OVER 6.5 | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -125 | 7 h 15 m | Show |
The host St. Louis Blues will get a fresh start with a new coach when they face the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night. Blues general manager Doug Armstrong promoted Drew Bannister, coach of the team's AHL affiliate in Springfield, Mass., to serve as interim coach. Bannister made the trip to St. Louis on Wednesday and will take over the reins of the team on Thursday when Ottawa comes to town. That move came after Armstrong fired coach Craig Berube on Tuesday following his team's 6-4 home loss to the short-handed Detroit Red Wings. The defeat, the Blues' fourth in a row, dropped St. Louis to 13-14-1. It came on the heels of two losses to last-place teams, as the Blues fell 5-2 to the Metropolitan Division's Columbus Blue Jackets before losing 3-1 to the Central Division's cellar-dwelling Chicago Blackhawks.

12-14-23 | Jacksonville State v. Wisconsin UNDER 125.5 | Top | 60-75 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 51 m | Show |
No. 23 Wisconsin will be looking to bounce back from a lopsided loss to a top-ranked foe when it hosts Jacksonville State in a non-conference matchup on Thursday night in Madison, Wis. After recording impressive victories over No. 7 Marquette and Michigan State, the Badgers (7-3) saw their six-game winning streak come to a halt with a 97-73 setback to No. 1 Arizona on Saturday. Wisconsin stayed close early before the Wildcats closed the first half with a 25-8 run for a 48-31 lead at the break. The Badgers seemed to regain their defensive identity during their winning streak, allowing just 56.7 points per game. They outrebounded opponents by 11.2 per game, including Marquette by 38-23 and Michigan State 36-22. Wisconsin, however, was outrebounded by the Wildcats 39-30 and outscored 42-32 in the paint. After limiting each of the six previous opponents to 46.2 percent shooting or less, Arizona connected on 58.3 percent of its shots — including 12 of 26 from 3-point range.
12-13-23 | Lakers v. Spurs OVER 229.5 | Top | 122-119 | Win | 100 | 10 h 16 m | Show |
The Los Angeles Lakers will look to get back on the winning track when they travel to play the hapless San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday in the first of two games between the teams in three nights in the Alamo City. The Lakers travel south for the second game of a road back-to-back after taking a 127-125 loss at Dallas on Tuesday that snapped their season-best, four-game winning streak. Included in that winning stretch was the championship game of the NBA's inaugural in-season tournament, not a regular-season contest, but that success didn't carry over to Tuesday. Anthony Davis led Los Angeles with 37 points and 11 rebounds against the Mavericks, while LeBron James finished with 33 points, nine assists and eight rebounds. Austin Reaves added 22 points off the bench, and Taurean Prince tallied 15. The Lakers outshot Dallas 53.8 percent to 49.4 percent, outrebounded the hosts 40-36 and made 15 of their 29 3-point attempts. However, they made just 12 of 18 free-throw attempts. Dallas hit 18 of 21 free throws to make up the difference in field-goal shooting.
12-13-23 | Hornets v. Heat -7.5 | Top | 104-115 | Win | 100 | 10 h 54 m | Show |
At just past the quarter pole of the NBA season, the Miami Heat have already lost four games during which they led by at least 16 points. On Wednesday night against the visiting Charlotte Hornets, the Miami Heat will try to grab a lead and keep it -- easier said than accomplished in the NBA. On Monday in Charlotte, the Heat led by as many as 14 points but had to hold on for a 116-114 win. Charlotte's Terry Rozier, who made eight 3-pointers and scored a game-high 34 points, nearly won the game with a half-court shot that bounced off the backboard at the buzzer. Perhaps there's a reason for those struggles as the Heat are playing without their top two scorers: Tyler Herro (ankle injury) missed his 15th straight game on Monday, and Bam Adebayo (hip) has missed six of Miami's past nine contests. Herro averaged 22.9 points through eight games, and Adebayo is averaging 22.3. The one healthy member of Miami's "Big Three" is Jimmy Butler, who is averaging 21.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.2 steals.
12-13-23 | Ducks v. Islanders UNDER 6 | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 37 m | Show |
Bo Horvat and Mathew Barzal didn't wait long Monday night to turn what could have been the New York Islanders' most demoralizing blown third-period lead of the season into their second straight potentially seismic win. The Islanders will attempt to continue surging Wednesday night when they host the Anaheim Ducks in the penultimate game of a season-long six-game homestand. New York earned another dramatic overtime victory Monday when Horvat scored 46 seconds into overtime to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs, 4-3. The Islanders, who have been outscored 41-25 after the second period this season, squandered a third-period lead for the ninth time -- and in uniquely awkward fashion -- when Morgan Rielly scored with 6.4 seconds left in regulation. Former New York captain John Tavares, who has been booed every time he's hit the ice at the Islanders' home arenas since he signed a seven-year deal with his hometown Maple Leafs in July 2018, collected his 1,000th career point by notching the primary assist on Rielly's goal. Teammates mobbed Tavares and boos rained down as a message congratulating Tavares on his achievement aired on the scoreboard. But on the home bench, Horvat and Barzal saw an immediate chance to rewrite the narrative. After Ilya Sorokin turned back a pair of shots by Auston Matthews, Barzal and Horvat started a 2-on-1 that ended with Horvat firing a shot into the upper-left corner of the net.
12-13-23 | Texas-San Antonio v. Arkansas-Little Rock OVER 162 | Top | 84-93 | Win | 100 | 10 h 4 m | Show |
12-13-23 | Murray State v. Mississippi State UNDER 137.5 | Top | 81-85 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 51 m | Show |
After consecutive losses, including a come-from-ahead defeat to Southern, Mississippi State coach Chris Jans had a simple message for his Bulldogs on Saturday before they played Tulane in Atlanta. Message received. The Bulldogs roared to a 62-34 lead at halftime and cruised to a 106-76 win, ending their brief skid and providing themselves with a reset. Mississippi State will try to keep that level of play going on Wednesday night in Starkville when it hosts Murray State in another non-conference contest. The Bulldogs (7-2) hit 58.6 percent of their field-goal tries Saturday and led by as many as 41 points in the second half against a good opponent. Freshman Josh Hubbard came off the bench to score a game-high 22 points, increasing his scoring average to a team-high 16.7 points per game. Meanwhile, the Racers (3-5) haven't gotten off to the start they wanted. They've lost five of their last six, including Saturday night's 53-49 defeat at Austin Peay in which they made only 19 of 51 shots from the field, including 7 of 25 from the 3-point line.
12-13-23 | Penguins v. Canadiens UNDER 6.5 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -120 | 9 h 57 m | Show |
The Pittsburgh Penguins head to Montreal on Wednesday coming off something of a breakthrough game. Now they'll look to strike while the power play is hot when they play for the second night in a row as they visit the Canadiens. On Tuesday, Pittsburgh not only halted a four-game losing streak (0-2-2) and two-game regulation losing skid with a 4-2 win at home against the Arizona Coyotes, but the Penguins also burst what had been a big, ugly, boiling bubble by going 2-for-5 on the power play, including Jeff Carter's go-ahead goal in the third. Pittsburgh had been in an 0-for-37 power-play drought over 13-plus games with a man advantage. The Penguins had tweaked and tweaked their power-play personnel and strategy for more than a month, trying to produce a goal. Guentzel said it came down to the simplest thing.
12-12-23 | Cavs v. Celtics OVER 223.5 | Top | 113-120 | Win | 100 | 8 h 43 m | Show |
The Golden State Warriors are once again experiencing difficulties winning on the road. The Warriors are saddled with a five-game road losing streak and will look to halt it on Tuesday night when they visit the Phoenix Suns. The recent struggles are reminiscent of last season, when Golden State was 11-30 on the road. Only three teams had worse road records. Golden State will look to end this season's slide when it takes on Phoenix, which hopes to have Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker on the floor together for the first time. Beal is slated to play Tuesday for just the fourth time this season and first since Nov. 12. He has been plagued by back problems and has sat out the past 12 games. Durant (ankle) is listed as questionable and missed the Suns' 114-106 home loss to the Sacramento Kings on Friday. He was limited in Monday's non-contact practice. Beal was acquired from the Washington Wizards in the offseason to form a trio with Booker and Durant. But Beal and Booker have yet to play in the same game this season while Beal has played in just three games with Durant.
12-12-23 | Red Wings v. Blues UNDER 6.5 | Top | 6-4 | Loss | -108 | 10 h 43 m | Show |
The road-weary St. Louis Blues hope to regroup during their three-game homestand this week. That effort will start Tuesday when they host the depleted Detroit Red Wings. The Blues played 11 of their previous 15 games on the road. St. Louis lost four of its last five games to slip to 13-13-1. That downturn set the team's focus for the week. The Blues' offense is generating plenty of shot attempts and shots on goal. St. Louis outshot the Columbus Blue Jackets 43-22 in a 5-2 loss on Friday and the Chicago Blackhawks 39-24 in a 3-1 loss on Saturday.
12-12-23 | Lakers v. Mavs UNDER 234.5 | Top | 125-127 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 33 m | Show |
The Los Angeles Lakers will look to build on their NBA in-season tournament title when they visit the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. The Lakers captured the inaugural event in impressive fashion, winning seven straight games by a total of 135 points, capped by a 123-109 triumph over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night in Las Vegas. Unfortunately for Los Angeles, its regular-season form hasn't been nearly as good. The Lakers have won just five of their past 12 non-tournament games, having alternated losses and wins over their past 10. Flipping the switch from the bright lights of Las Vegas to just another December trip to Dallas might not be easy for the Lakers. On Sunday, LeBron James was in attendance in Los Angeles when his oldest son, Bronny, made his collegiate debut for Southern California. On Monday, the Lakers announced plans to raise the in-season tournament banner into the rafters when they return home from a three-game trip to face the New York Knicks on Dec. 18. When the Lakers travel to play the Mavericks on Tuesday, Dallas might be without Kyrie Irving, who sat out the team's 120-113 win at Memphis on Monday due to a bruised right heel.
12-12-23 | Hurricanes v. Senators +115 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 24 m | Show |
The Carolina Hurricanes vented some frustration in a players-only meeting shortly after sustaining their fourth consecutive loss to begin a six-game road trip. The Hurricanes hope the exchange of words in the locker room proves productive on the ice Tuesday night when they visit the Ottawa Senators. Martin Necas contends that the meeting had a positive vibe, despite the team's recent negative results
12-12-23 | Georgia Southern v. Tennessee UNDER 145 | Top | 56-74 | Win | 100 | 10 h 35 m | Show |
No. 12 Tennessee will look to extend a pair of streaks on Tuesday when it hosts winless Georgia Southern in Knoxville, Tenn. The Volunteers (6-3) answered a three-game skid against three ranked foes with a convincing victory over George Mason on Tuesday and delivered a spirited comeback versus then-No. 20 Illinois on Saturday. The 86-79 triumph over the Fighting Illini not only gave Tennessee back-to-back victories but also extended its nonconference home winning streak to 25 games. Dalton Knecht scored 13 of his 21 points in the second half against Illinois. Knecht, who averages a team-best 19.2 points per game, has led the Volunteers in scoring in seven of his nine games this season. Tennessee received double-digit scoring performances from all of its starters for the first time this season. Jonas Aidoo recorded 14 points and seven rebounds, Santiago Vescovi added 12 and nine, respectively, Josiah-Jordan James scored 12 points and Zakai Zeigler added 11. While Volunteers coach Rick Barnes was content with what he saw on offense, he was quick to credit his charges for their play at the other end of the floor. Tennessee enjoyed a 43-34 edge on the boards against Illinois, who entered the game ranked among the national leaders in rebounds.
12-12-23 | Tenn-Martin v. NC State UNDER 164 | Top | 67-81 | Win | 100 | 9 h 21 m | Show |
North Carolina State has been encouraged on several levels after nearly a weeklong layoff in its schedule. The Wolfpack will try to rebuild some momentum starting with Tuesday night's game against visiting UT Martin in Raleigh, N.C. The addition of wing MJ Rice, a transfer from Kansas, is expected to have long-term benefits. Rice made his Wolfpack debut in the team's most recent game, scoring 11 points in less than 11 minutes off the bench in a 93-61 victory over Maryland-Eastern Shore. NC State (6-2) has won two games in a row following a two-game skid that included a 72-52 loss against Ole Miss. Tuesday's game will mark the Wolfpack's return to PNC Arena after the UMES game was held at Reynolds Coliseum. UT Martin (6-4) had an eight-day layoff before defeating visiting NCCAA member Ecclesia 110-52 on Sunday. Half of the Skyhawks' victories have come against non-Division I teams.
12-11-23 | Utah Tech +2.5 v. CS-Northridge | Top | 75-80 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 3 m | Show |
12-11-23 | Flames v. Avalanche UNDER 6.5 | Top | 5-6 | Loss | -134 | 9 h 10 m | Show |
When the Calgary Flames signed Nazem Kadri to a long-term deal in 2022, it looked as if they were in a win-today mode. Things might appear differently a little more than a year later. Calgary has lost three of its past four right after trading defenseman Nikita Zadorov to Vancouver. Now the Flames travel to Colorado to face the Avalanche on Monday night with the chance other players could be moved. Calgary is trying to rebuild on the fly, not give up on the season, but rumors have circulated about the possibility that Elias Lindholm, Noah Hanifin or Chris Tanev could be traded. Tanev, a mainstay of the defensive corps, has publicly stated he wants to remain with the Flames. The Flames have played a little more than a quarter of the season and have 25 points, which would leave them on the outside of the playoffs if that doesn't change. They face a difficult stretch of the schedule and begin a three-game road trip in Colorado before playing at Vegas and Minnesota.
12-11-23 | Packers v. Giants OVER 37 | Top | 22-24 | Win | 100 | 10 h 21 m | Show |
The Packers have converted 13 of their 45 third-and-10+ situations this season -- their 28.9 percent rate is the best in the league. The only team with more third-and-10+ conversions is the Texans with 14 on 49 attempts (28.6 percent) -- the second-highest rate in the league.Jordan Love added his 14th passing touchdown in the second half or overtime this season against the Chiefs on Monday and now has the most in the NFL. The last Packers quarterback to lead the league in second half or overtime passing touchdowns was Brett Favre with 22 in 1996.
12-11-23 | Titans v. Dolphins UNDER 46.5 | Top | 28-27 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 9 m | Show |
The Titans defeated the Dolphins last season, 34-3, tied for the fewest points they have held Miami to in a single game in franchise history (37-3 in 2012). Tennessee has forced multiple turnovers in its last six games against the Dolphins, its longest such streak against a single opponent since doing so in seven straight against the Jets (2003-2013).Tennessee recorded 12 passing first downs and 12 rushing first downs in its last game against the Colts, the second time it has reached those numbers in a game this century. The Titans did this in Week 8 of 2020 against the Bengals (13 pass, 12 rush).Last week against Indianapolis, Derrick Henry recorded his 18th career game with at least 100 rushing yards and multiple rushing touchdowns. The next-closest career total by an active player is Nick Chubb with eight such games. The Titans have had 15 games since the beginning of last season with at least one forced turnover and three defensive sacks, tied for the second most in the NFL over that span (Chiefs) behind the Ravens (17).
12-11-23 | Packers v. Giants +6 | Top | 22-24 | Win | 100 | 10 h 6 m | Show |
12-11-23 | Red Wings v. Stars OVER 6 | Top | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 8 h 48 m | Show |
The Dallas Stars hope to wrap up a busy stretch of their schedule with a win against the visiting Detroit Red Wings on Monday night. It will be the eighth game in 14 days for the Stars, who are 3-3-1 during the stretch so far. Dallas showed some fatigue in its most recent game, falling 6-1 to the visiting Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday afternoon. The Stars have lost three of their past four games and haven't strung together back-to-back wins in nearly a month. The Stars are hoping Jake Oettinger will begin rounding back into the form he showed the first month of the season. He was 8-2-1 after a 4-3 overtime win against the Arizona Coyotes on Nov. 14 with a 2.26 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage, but he has since gone 2-5-1 with a 3.66 GAA and a .874 save percentage.
12-11-23 | Wizards v. 76ers -11.5 | Top | 101-146 | Win | 100 | 7 h 2 m | Show |
The Philadelphia 76ers will look for their third straight victory when they host the reeling Washington Wizards on Monday. While the Sixers have been winning recently, there's cause for concern regarding reigning Most Valuable Player Joel Embiid. Late in the Sixers' 125-114 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday, Embiid appeared to tweak his left knee after taking an awkward step on a drive to the basket. Embiid had 38 points and 14 rebounds but was noticeably limping at the end. Embiid participated in practice Sunday and is listed as questionable for Monday. Tyrese Maxey continued his strong play for the Sixers with 30 points, seven assists and zero turnovers.
12-11-23 | Heat v. Hornets OVER 221 | Top | 116-114 | Win | 100 | 7 h 55 m | Show |
The Charlotte Hornets offense came in different doses in their most recent game, and it could be a good thing for a team searching for a formula that breeds consistency. The Miami Heat need to find some order as well, hoping to get back on track Monday night against the host Hornets at Charlotte, N.C. The Heat have lost five of their last seven games, including Friday night's 111-99 loss to the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers. The Hornets had to like their balance when four players scored 20 or more points in a 119-116 victory over the visiting Toronto Raptors on Friday night. That group was led by Gordon Hayward's 24 points. Charlotte shot a season-best 55.7 percent from the field. The uptick in Charlotte's offense appears to have multiple facets.

12-10-23 | Kings v. Rangers -1.5 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 210 | 7 h 47 m | Show |
The Rangers have won three straight home games against the Kings and earned a point in seven straight (5-0-2). Both are New York's longest such streaks against LA since a 9-0-1 run from October 1990 through November 2000.
12-10-23 | Capitals v. Blackhawks +150 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 38 m | Show |
The Chicago Blackhawks and Washington Capitals will look to build on impressive Saturday night wins when they meet Sunday night in Chicago. The Capitals ended a three-game losing streak with a 4-0 shutout of the Metropolitan Division-leading New York Rangers. The Blackhawks have won consecutive games for the first time this season after a 3-1 win against the visiting St. Louis Blues. Charlie Lindgren made 31 saves to help the Capitals spoil former Capitals coach -- and current Rangers leader -- Peter Laviolette's return to Washington, D.C., on Saturday. Tom Wilson posted his fifth goal in five games for the Capitals, who scored on the first shift of the game and broke it open with a three-goal second period. Lindgren made 15 saves in the second period as Washington pulled away. He'll remember the game for another reason: It was his first time playing against his brother, Ryan, in the NHL.
12-10-23 | Tulsa v. Oklahoma State UNDER 145 | Top | 57-72 | Win | 100 | 6 h 18 m | Show |
The moods are decidedly different as Tulsa and Oklahoma State go into their nonconference, neutral-site matchup Sunday in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma State is accustomed to beating its in-state rival, having gone 75-39 in the series, including an 82-56 victory last season in Stillwater. This year, however, has presented a series of early disappointments for the Cowboys (3-5). Oklahoma State has dropped two consecutive games, including a 70-68 defeat Tuesday at Southern Illinois, the Cowboys' only true road game of the season. Coach Mike Boynton, who said Oklahoma State fans "deserve an apology" after a season-opening loss to visiting Abilene Christian, is still looking for answers. In four of the defeats, the Cowboys had opportunities to tie or take the lead in the waning seconds.
12-10-23 | Seahawks v. 49ers OVER 45 | Top | 16-28 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 45 m | Show |
Brock Purdy (148.8 passer rating and four passing touchdowns in Week 13) now has four games this season with a passer rating of 140.0+ and 3+ touchdown passes, tying Tom Brady (2007) and Aaron Rodgers (2011) for most in a single season in NFL history. In Week 13, Deebo Samuel finished with four receptions for 116 yards (on four targets) and three total touchdowns (two receiving and one rushing). He's the only player in the last 30 years with 3+ scrimmage TDs and 100+ receiving yards on four or fewer targets.Christian McCaffrey (50 rushing touchdowns and 27 receiving touchdowns in his career) is the third player in NFL history with 50+ rushing touchdowns and 25+ receiving scores (Marshall Faulk, Lenny Moore). McCaffrey has done so in 87 games, 17 fewer games than Moore and 27 fewer than Faulk.
12-10-23 | Bucs v. Falcons -1 | Top | 29-25 | Loss | -122 | 2 h 19 m | Show |
The Buccaneers are averaging 3.46 yards per carry, the lowest in the NFL after finishing last in the category in 2022 (3.39). They are on pace to be the first team to have the lowest rushing average in consecutive seasons since the Cardinals in 2005 and 2006.

12-09-23 | Hurricanes v. Canucks UNDER 6.5 | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 29 m | Show |
The Carolina Hurricanes will try to snap a three-game losing streak when they continue their six-game road trip at Vancouver on Saturday night. The road trip began with a 2-1 loss at Winnipeg on Monday despite outshooting the Jets 43-22, as Laurent Brossoit made a season-high 42 saves. But Carolina, which has the second-worst road record in the Metro Division (6-9-0) behind only the last-place Columbus Blue Jackets (2-8-3), followed that with a 6-1 clunker at Edmonton on Wednesday. The Hurricanes then lost 3-2 at Calgary on Thursday after blowing an early 2-0 lead. Frustrated Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour, who during an in-game interview at Edmonton said he had "never seen a team play this brutal," didn't hold back after seeing his team allow three goals in the span of a little over six minutes midway through the third period at Calgary. Blake Coleman scored the game-winner with a short-handed goal.

12-09-23 | Pacers v. Lakers -4 | Top | 109-123 | Win | 100 | 7 h 47 m | Show |
LeBron James has been a superstar for two decades while Tyrese Haliburton is a newbie to star status. Haliburton certainly looks comfortable in the role and will lead the Indiana Pacers against the James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the championship game of the NBA's in-season tournament on Saturday night at Las Vegas. Both clubs are 6-0 in the in-season tournament, each going 4-0 in group play before posting two knockout-round wins. Each player on Saturday's winning team will earn $500,000, while the players on the runner-up side each will receive $200,000. But there is more than money at stake for the Pacers, a feel-good story over the first quarter of the NBA season. Indiana hasn't reached the playoffs since the 2019-20 season and is looking to take a major step upward. The Pacers view the title game as that jumpstart.
12-09-23 | Canisius v. Pittsburgh UNDER 152 | Top | 71-82 | Loss | -111 | 5 h 58 m | Show |
Blake Hinson will have a hard act to follow when Pitt hosts Canisius on Saturday evening. The Panthers' senior guard sank nine three-pointers and scored a career-best 29 points in an 80-63 road win over rival West Virginia on Wednesday night. Pitt (6-3) had 38 attempts from 3-point range, making 16, while providing an offensive barrage that left the Mountaineers behind in the second half. Pitt averages 30.0 attempts from distance per game, which is easily the most in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Hinson is making 4.3 3-pointers per outing, which ranks second in Division I behind only Hofstra's Tyler Thomas (4.5). He attempts 9.6 from the 3-point line each time out -- which ranks fourth in the country -- and has led the Panthers in scoring in five of its nine contests this season. The Golden Griffins (6-4) will likely have their hands full with the scoring threat.
12-09-23 | Devils -114 v. Flames | Top | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 3 h 42 m | Show |
The Devils won both games they played versus the Flames last season (4-3 in OT at Calgary and 3-2 in New Jersey), ending a run of eight consecutive Flames wins against the Devils. The Devils have not won three games in a row versus Calgary since they did so spanning the 1996-97 and 1997-98 seasons. The Devils' 2-1 victory at Seattle on Thursday was their first win this season in a game in which they scored fewer than four goals (1-9-1, .136). The Devils were 17-19-7 (.477) in games in which they scored three or fewer goals last season, fourth best in the NHL.

12-08-23 | Pistons v. Magic OVER 228.5 | Top | 91-123 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 47 m | Show |
Paolo Banchero offered another reminder why he's one of the league's emerging stars on Wednesday, when he scored a career-high 42 points in a 121-111 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Banchero can build on that stellar performance when Orlando takes on the visiting Detroit Pistons on Friday. Detroit dropped its 18th straight game and fell to 2-19 overall in a 116-102 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. The Pistons will need to find a way to slow down the 21-year-old Banchero, who shot 16-of-26 from the field in the loss to Cleveland and became the second-youngest player in franchise history to score 40 points. Shaquille O'Neal was 20 years old when he scored 40.
12-08-23 | Hawks +8 v. 76ers | Top | 114-125 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 32 m | Show |
The Philadelphia 76ers will hope to ride the momentum of Joel Embiid's 50-point performance into their game against the visiting Atlanta Hawks on Friday. Embiid, who missed the previous two games due to illness, racked up the sixth 50-point game of his career despite not feeling 100 percent in a 131-126 road win against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. Having the reigning NBA MVP available is always a huge advantage for the Sixers. Tyrese Maxey returned from a one-game absence to score 26 points. Kelly Oubre Jr. had 12 in his first game since sustaining a broken rib and other undisclosed injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Nov. 11. Despite that, I think this is too many points

12-07-23 | Pelicans v. Lakers OVER 231 | Top | 89-133 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 4 m | Show |
LeBron James is highly energized about the prospects of leading the Los Angeles Lakers to the inaugural NBA Cup. The top-seeded Lakers are one victory away from reaching the final as they battle the third-seeded New Orleans Pelicans in the West semifinal of the NBA in-season tournament on Thursday night at Las Vegas. The victor will face the East semifinal winner, either the Milwaukee Bucks or Indiana Pacers, in Saturday's championship game. The first-time event wouldn't seem to be that much of a big deal to a 19-time All-Star like James, who has four regular-season MVPs, four championship rings and the NBA's all-time leading scorer title on his resume.
12-07-23 | Patriots +6 v. Steelers | Top | 21-18 | Win | 100 | 11 h 36 m | Show |
Including the playoffs, Mike Tomlin is 3-9 (.250) as head coach against the Patriots. Tomlin's next-lowest winning percentage against any AFC team is .444 (4-5 against the Broncos, Jets and Raiders). The Patriots are the second team in NFL history to lose three straight games by six or fewer points while allowing 10 points or fewer in each. The other was the St. Louis All-Stars, who did so in three straight games in the 1923 season.
12-07-23 | Blue Jackets v. Islanders -1.5 | Top | 3-7 | Win | 139 | 7 h 58 m | Show |

The Senators have not won consecutive games versus the Maple Leafs within one season since 2018-19 (March 16 and March 30).Toronto's last seven games were decided by a one-goal margin (4-1-2), including three in overtime and two via shootouts. It is the longest streak of one-goal games by an NHL team this season, and it is the Maple Leafs' longest streak since 2018 (seven games, Jan. 4-20).Auston Matthews scored two goals in the Maple Leafs' overtime loss to the Bruins in Toronto on Saturday. It was Matthews' fifth multi-goal game this season, all of which have come on home ice. Since 2019-20, Matthews' has 33 multi-goal games in Toronto and only 11 in Leafs road games.

The Indiana Pacers' improbable run through the inaugural NBA in-season tournament continues Thursday night when they attempt to take down the Eastern Conference's top seed, the Milwaukee Bucks, in the semifinals at Las Vegas. The New Orleans Pelicans will face the Los Angeles Lakers in the West semifinal later Thursday, with the two winners advancing to the tournament final on Saturday night. The Pacers, who are the NBA's highest scoring team at 128.4 points per game, have topped 120 points in all five of their tournament games, sweeping through their pool with four consecutive wins before eliminating the Boston Celtics 122-112 at home in the quarterfinals Monday. Indiana bombarded the visiting Celtics with 19 makes from 3-point range, with Tyrese Haliburton (five), Buddy Hield (four) and Bennedict Mathurin (four) combining for more than the entire Boston team (12). The Pacers hit 47.5 percent (19-for-40) from beyond the arc. Thursday's game is a rematch of one of the NBA's most entertaining regular-season contests to date, a 126-124 Pacers home win on Nov. 9 in which they overcame a 54-point performance by Milwaukee star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

12-06-23 | Nets v. Hawks OVER 242.5 | Top | 114-113 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 32 m | Show |
The last time the Brooklyn Nets visited the Atlanta Hawks, Mikal Bridges matched his career high with 45 points but the result was an overtime loss. This time, Bridges is coming off his fastest start to a game in his career, and the Nets hope to pair another productive night from him with another win Wednesday night when they visit the Hawks. This game was scheduled last week when both teams were eliminated from the in-season tournament. Bridges and the Nets are visiting Atlanta for the second time in two weeks. On Nov. 22, Bridges scored 30 of his points after halftime when the Nets trailed by 12 after one quarter and by 10 at halftime before taking a 147-145 overtime loss. Since Bridges made 16 of 31 shots at Atlanta, the Nets are 4-1 in their past five games. Brooklyn's only loss in that span was a 129-128 setback to the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday when they allowed 21 3-pointers. Bridges did not score more than 24 points in the first four games after the Atlanta visit before erupting for 42 in Saturday's 129-101 rout of the Orlando Magic. Bridges shot 12-of-20 and made 15 free throws. He put up 26 points in the opening quarter, the third-most productive opening period in team history.
12-06-23 | 76ers -10 v. Wizards | Top | 131-126 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 14 m | Show |
A five-day break came at just the right time for the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers haven't played since last Friday when they dropped their second straight, 125-119 to the Boston Celtics. All-Star center Joel Embiid missed the past two games with an illness. Tyrese Maxey was also out against the Celtics. Philadelphia is expected to have Embiid and Maxey back when it visits the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. The 76ers will also welcome back Kelly Oubre Jr., who has been out since Nov. 11 with a broken rib and other undisclosed injuries after reportedly being struck by a vehicle. Oubre averaged 16.3 points in his first eight games before his injury. Local police have been unable to locate any video evidence, leading some to be skeptical of Oubre's account.

Ohio State will take a brief interlude from Big Ten play and look to extend its six-game winning streak against visiting Miami (OH) on Wednesday night in Columbus. The Buckeyes (7-1) defeated Minnesota 84-74 on Sunday in their conference opener. After playing the RedHawks (4-3), they will return to league action Saturday at Penn State before playing their final three nonconference games to finish December. The Buckeyes took care of Minnesota on the strength of 26 points from Bruce Thornton, 25 from Jamison Battle and Roddy Gayle Jr.'s 16. The trio combined to shoot 20-of-32 (62.5 percent) from the floor. Despite those lofty numbers, Battle insists the Buckeyes have a balanced attack.

12-05-23 | Suns v. Lakers -1.5 | Top | 103-106 | Win | 100 | 12 h 60 m | Show |
In his 21st season, LeBron James gets a new stage to operate on when the Los Angeles Lakers play host to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday in a quarterfinal game of the NBA in-season tournament. James helped the Lakers to a 4-0 record in group-stage play of the inaugural event and the top seed in the West heading into the win-and-advance quarterfinals. The Tuesday winner will face the New Orleans Pelicans in a Thursday semifinal at Las Vegas. The Pelicans earned a 127-117 road win over the Sacramento Kings in a Monday quarterfinal matchup. James showed he is as feisty as ever during Los Angeles' 107-97 victory over the Houston Rockets on Saturday. He backed into the lane for a 360-degree reverse layup and also earned a technical foul for a verbal spat with Rockets coach Ime Udoka in the fourth quarter. Udoka was ejected from the game.
12-05-23 | Predators v. Blackhawks UNDER 6.5 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -120 | 11 h 43 m | Show |
The Nashville Predators are back to playing uneven hockey after using a six-game winning streak to climb over .500 for the first time this season. On Tuesday, they'll aim to bank more momentum and sweep an abbreviated two-game road trip as they visit the struggling Chicago Blackhawks. Nashville edged host Buffalo 2-1 on Sunday behind a 34-save effort from Juuse Saros, who showcased his resiliency after being pulled from Thursday's loss to Minnesota after yielding four goals on 15 shots. Predators coach Andrew Brunette hailed Saros' ability to bounce back.
12-05-23 | Red Wings v. Sabres OVER 6.5 | Top | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 53 m | Show |
The Detroit Red Wings have been hot since right before Thanksgiving and hope to feast on an Atlantic Division opponent Tuesday night. Winners of five of their past six games, including Saturday night's 5-4 overtime thriller in Montreal, the Wings square off against the host Buffalo Sabres in the first of four matchups this season. The Wings and coach Derek Lalonde are probably still dealing with the wave of emotions from beating the Canadiens -- finally -- after appearing to be in good shape through two periods. The visitors held a two-goal lead over the Canadiens following three straight first-period tallies by Joe Veleno, Christian Fischer and Daniel Sprong. Alex DeBrincat added a fourth in the second frame for a 4-2 advantage. However, the Habs' Nick Suzuki and Gustav Lindstrom scored goals to send the game to overtime before Detroit defenseman Jake Walman won it less than a minute into three-on-three play. Walman took a feed from Dylan Larkin at the top of the left circle and blasted a slapper for his fifth tally and his second game-winning goal this season.
12-05-23 | Knicks v. Bucks OVER 228.5 | Top | 122-146 | Win | 100 | 8 h 47 m | Show |
At their pace of 121.1 points per game, the 2023-24 Bucks offense would set a franchise scoring record, edging out the 2020-21 NBA-Champion team by a single point per contest. Defensively, 118.1 points allowed per game would set a franchise-low mark currently held by the Bucks' inaugural 1968-89 expansion roster (115.4).
12-05-23 | Florida Atlantic v. Illinois +2.5 | Top | 89-98 | Win | 100 | 9 h 5 m | Show |
When it comes to the perks Florida Atlantic earned following last season's run to the Final Four, Tuesday's ranks pretty high as the 11th-ranked Owls travel to New York to face No. 20 Illinois in the Jimmy V Classic opener. FAU coach Dusty May couldn't help but muse about his program's good fortune shortly after the Owls knocked off Charleston on Saturday night in the final of the Field of 68 Tip-Off. A mid-major getting its chance in the spotlight at MSG in the Jimmy V Classic isn't unheard of, though. Butler played Georgetown in the event in 2009 as a member of the Horizon League. That same 2009-10 Bulldogs team ended up going all the way to the 2010 NCAA Tournament title game.
12-05-23 | Delaware v. Xavier -11.5 | Top | 87-80 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 51 m | Show |
fter a loss that showed the Musketeers are not all that far from the team they want to be, Xavier will stay at home for a matchup against Delaware on Tuesday in Cincinnati. Battle-tested Xavier is far from content with its overall situation. It's dropped four of six overall and lost consecutive home games, including one to then-No. 6 Houston on Friday. Houston is No. 3 this week. Another of those Xavier defeats came on the road Nov. 13 against Purdue, then the No. 2 team in the country. The matchup with Purdue was a Gavitt Tipoff Games contest, while Friday's was a matchup in the Big East-Big 12 Battle. The competitive 66-60 loss to Houston took away at least a bit of the sting that came from a 78-76 home loss to Oakland last week. The Musketeers (4-4) received 17 points from Quincy Olivari on Friday, while Desmond Claude scored 14 points. Xavier shot just 32.7 percent from the field but held the Cougars to a season-low 34.4 percent.
12-04-23 | Pelicans v. Kings -3 | Top | 127-117 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 51 m | Show |
A matchup between the New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings has never had so much at stake. Third-seeded New Orleans is visiting second-seeded Sacramento on Monday night in the West quarterfinals of the NBA in-season tournament. The winner will advance to the semifinals of the tournament Thursday in Las Vegas. The Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns meet in the other West quarterfinal. Sacramento went 4-0 while winning West Group C. The Pelicans won West Group B with a 3-1 mark. The Pelicans are 2-0 against the Kings this season, winning back-to-back games last month in New Orleans by 36 and five points. Sacramento had issues defending Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson as New Orleans averaged 123 points in the two triumphs. Ingram scored 31 points and Williamson added 26 in a 129-93 victory on Nov. 20. Two nights later, Williamson scored 25 points and Ingram had 23 in a 117-112 victory. Williamson played on back-to-back nights for the first time this season over the weekend.

12-04-23 | Capitals +111 v. Coyotes | Top | 0-6 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 2 m | Show |
Washington has two straight shutout wins at Arizona. The last time the Capitals had three straight shutouts on the road versus any opponent was against the Canadiens from March 2011 to February 2012.The Capitals gave up two goals in the third period for the fourth time this season in a 4-1 loss to Vegas on Saturday. Washington has given up an NHL-low 13 total third-period goals this season.Tom Wilson, who scored a goal on Saturday, now has four goals over a two-game span for the first time in his career. Six times in his career Wilson has had scoring streaks of three games or longer, the last coming in April 2023.
12-04-23 | Furman v. Arkansas -11 | Top | 83-97 | Win | 100 | 8 h 26 m | Show |
Now that Arkansas has regained a level of confidence, the Razorbacks look for a strong follow-up performance when they host Furman on Monday night at Fayetteville, Ark. Arkansas (5-3) toppled then-No. 7 Duke on Wednesday night for a signature win. Furman (4-4) is coming off Saturday's 70-69 loss at undefeated Princeton, which won on a late 3-point basket. A meeting with Furman might look like a bit of a breather for Arkansas, which faced nationally ranked North Carolina and Duke in its past two games and has a home date with No. 25 Oklahoma on Saturday. But don't expect the Razorbacks to overlook the Paladins, who play in the Southern Conference. UNC Greensboro, also a member of that league, pulled a 78-72 upset at Arkansas on Nov. 17.
12-04-23 | Stars v. Lightning +107 | Top | 0-4 | Win | 107 | 7 h 12 m | Show |
In Saturday's matchup with the Tampa Bay Lightning, the homestanding Dallas Stars won by a constellation. After matching their season high in goals in an 8-1 obliteration of the Lightning, Dallas will visit Tampa on Monday to complete a home-and-home set between the 2020 Stanley Cup Final opponents. Dallas received goals from its top three lines in the first eight minutes Saturday and piled it on from there. To no shock at all, the Texas-sized production was staggeringly impressive. Fourteen of Dallas' 18 skaters recorded points -- only Matt Duchene, Ty Dellandrea, Craig Smith and Joel Hanley were held scoreless. Eight players posted multi-point outings. The club also found the net on both of its power plays and held the Lightning's vaunted man-advantage unit to one goal on six attempts. Dallas is approaching the halfway point of a healthy stretch of eight games in 14 days, which began with Tuesday's 2-0 win at the Winnipeg Jets. Monday's is the fourth in the demanding run.

The Boston Bruins will look to post their third straight win and second in as many nights when the Columbus Blue Jackets make a Sunday night visit. Last Monday's 5-2 loss in Columbus marked the final game of Boston's three-game losing streak, and wins over San Jose and Toronto have followed. The Bruins began a back-to-back Saturday in Toronto, scoring a 4-3 win on captain Brad Marchand's goal with eight seconds remaining in overtime. Marchand had gone without a goal in the previous eight games. Though an Auston Matthews goal with six seconds left in the third period forced the extra session, Bruins coach Jim Montgomery was pleased with his team's overall performance, including a higher pace of play and better defense.
12-03-23 | Predators v. Sabres UNDER 6.5 | Top | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 43 m | Show |
Teams with two-game losing streaks will collide when the Buffalo Sabres host the Nashville Predators on Sunday night. Both teams will play the second game of a back-to-back set after the Predators lost to the visiting New York Rangers 4-3 on Saturday and Buffalo fell 6-2 at the Carolina Hurricanes. Nashville squandered 2-0 and 3-1 leads against New York before Ryan Lindgren scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period. The Predators pulled their goalie with over four minutes remaining, but New York's Igor Shesterkin prevented the equalizer. Ryan O'Reilly had a goal and an assist for the Predators, and Kevin Lankinen made 23 saves. Nashville outshot New York 41-27 and was much improved from its 6-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Thursday. Before that, the Predators had won six in a row.
12-03-23 | Minnesota v. Ohio State OVER 140.5 | Top | 74-84 | Win | 100 | 7 h 21 m | Show |
Ohio State has yet to play a Big Ten game this season, but forward Jamison Battle, in his first season with the Buckeyes, already knows the feeling of winning a conference matchup in Columbus. That's because Battle spent the past two seasons playing for Minnesota, which plays at Ohio State (6-1) in the Big Ten opener for both teams on Sunday. The Golden Gophers won 70-67 last season in their most recent visit when Battle scored 11 points. The fifth-year transfer downplayed the significance of playing his former team for the first time. He said it's more important to build on the Buckeyes' fifth straight win, 88-61 over Central Michigan on Wednesday.
12-03-23 | Dolphins -8.5 v. Commanders | Top | 45-15 | Win | 100 | 4 h 7 m | Show |
After a 21-point win against the Jets, the Dolphins have five wins by 14 or more points this season. That is their most in any season since 2002 (also five). Their last season with more was 1990 (six).
12-03-23 | Broncos v. Texans UNDER 48 | Top | 17-22 | Win | 100 | 4 h 46 m | Show |
Heading into Sunday’s meeting with the surging Denver Broncos, Houston coach DeMeco Ryans was asked what he thinks has allowed them to bounce back after starting 1-5. “The biggest thing that I’ve seen from the Broncos and how they’ve turned things around is how their defense is attacking the football,” Ryans said. “When you take the ball away as many times as they have … you set the offense up, you set the team up for success. And that’s where it starts with these guys.” Denver (6-5) enters the game with a five-game winning streak, its longest since the 2015 season. The Broncos didn’t force a turnover in the first win in this stretch, but have piled up 15 combined in their past four games. This week they’ll face rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud, who has done a great job of protecting the ball. He ranks second in the NFL with 3,266 yards passing and has thrown 19 touchdown passes with just five interceptions.
12-03-23 | Tulane v. Fordham OVER 155.5 | Top | 89-81 | Win | 100 | 2 h 9 m | Show |
12-02-23 | New Mexico State +18 v. New Mexico | Top | 62-106 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 18 m | Show |
12-02-23 | Louisville +1.5 v. Florida State | Top | 6-16 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 31 m | Show |
No. 4 FSU's playoff fate in hands of backup QB vs. No. 14 Louisville After one week spent outside the projected field of four, Florida State moved back to No. 4 in Tuesday's latest College Football Playoff rankings. That should mean the Seminoles (12-0) control their own destiny when a backup quarterback leads them against No. 14 Louisville in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game on Saturday night in Charlotte, N.C. When Washington supplanted Florida State for the No. 4 spot a week ago, Seminoles coach Mike Norvell wasn't fazed, saying he had "not talked to (the players) about rankings at any point." Now, by virtue of Michigan's win over Ohio State that knocked the Buckeyes down to No. 6, the Seminoles are back in the fourth spot with only the ACC title game left to conquer. But that might be easier said than done. Florida State's situation is precarious after star quarterback Jordan Travis suffered a brutal lower leg injury against North Alabama on Nov. 18. Backup Tate Rodemaker went just 12-for-25 for 134 yards last week while Trey Benson provided 95 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the Seminoles' 24-15 road win over rival Florida.
12-02-23 | Cavs v. Pistons OVER 225.5 | Top | 110-101 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 53 m | Show |
The Cavs let Portland shoot 50.6 percent from the field in Thursday's 103-95 defeat, falling to 0-6 this season when their opponent hits more than half its field-goal attempts (10-3 otherwise). That's tied with Detroit and Charlotte for the worst such record in the league.
12-02-23 | Red Wings v. Canadiens UNDER 6.5 | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -111 | 6 h 17 m | Show |
As they await Patrick Kane's anticipated debut, the Detroit Red Wings will set out to continue their recent run of success. Meanwhile, the Montreal Canadiens must find a way to win games at home again. Looking for a fifth victory in six games, the Red Wings can also hand the Canadiens a fifth consecutive home defeat on Saturday night. Detroit closed November on an impressive 4-1-0 stretch, scoring 20 times in the process. The Red Wings posted four unanswered goals during Thursday's 5-1 home rout of Chicago. J.T. Compher and Robby Fabbri each had two goals, and Alex Lyon stopped 34 shots to help the club rebound from allowing two third-period goals during Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the New York Rangers. The Red Wings' maturity will expand once the 35-year-old Kane takes the ice, which, according to the team, could be at least one week away. A three-time Stanley Cup champion with Chicago who has 1,237 career points, Kane is recovering from summer hip surgery and signed a free-agent deal with Detroit this week. |
