02-26-22 |
USC +4 v. Oregon | Top | 70-69 |
Win | 100 | 13 h 59 m | Show |
This is the time of year when I like to find underdogs that I feel can win outright, and that's exactly what we have here. The 16th ranked Trojans have somehow found themselves an underdog, but that's fine because this is a clear oversight. The Trojans are 11-3 ATS in their last 14 road games, expect them to improve on that tonight. |
02-26-22 |
Portland +10.5 v. Santa Clara | Top | 89-102 |
Loss | -110 | 8 h 3 m | Show |
The Pilots are getting double digits in this one and that's very generous of the bookmakers. Portland is now 13-3 ATS s an underdog and 13-3 ATS on the road. Santa Clara has never shown that they can get separation from the teams they should handle easy. |
02-26-22 |
Cleveland State +1.5 v. Oakland | Top | 57-65 |
Loss | -110 | 6 h 7 m | Show |
The Vikings are a team that I like to take when they're an underdog, especially when i think they can win outright. The Vikings are 10-3 overall as an underdog and 9-3 ATS after SU loss. The Golden Grizzlies have now dropped 10 of their last 11 games ATS. |
02-26-22 |
Celtics -11 v. Pistons | Top | 113-104 |
Loss | -110 | 3 h 20 m | Show |
The Celtics thumped the Nets with contributions that came from most of the active roster. Jayson Tatum led the way with 30 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, while Jaylen Brown added 18 points and six boards. When Tatum and Brown are playing at a high level, they are a difficult team to stop. The Celtics have been able to turn their misfortunes around over the last month. If Marcus Smart is able to help Tatum and Brown as the team’s third option, he will cause problems for the Pistons. |
02-25-22 |
Spurs -3 v. Wizards | Top | 157-153 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 17 m | Show |
The Spurs are a team that the Wizards have never played well against and will be a team I will fade down the stretch even though both are within reach of the play in game. |
02-25-22 |
St. Peter's +4.5 v. Monmouth | Top | 70-65 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 11 m | Show |
I like to play St. Peters as a dog and they're a juicy one tonight, meaning they can win this game outright. The Peacocks are 34-16 as a dog and 47-23 as a road dog. The Hawks have failed to cover 5 of their last 6 at home ATS. |
02-21-22 |
New Mexico State v. Seattle University +3 | Top | 68-55 |
Loss | -110 | 11 h 24 m | Show |
Seattle has been terrific this season at home, covering 10 of their last 13 with a push. The Redhawks are also 15-7 ATS against teams with a winning SU record. The Aggies are just 5-11 ATS following a ATS win. |
02-21-22 |
Florida State v. Boston College +1.5 | Top | 55-71 |
Win | 100 | 8 h 30 m | Show |
The Seminoles have been a horrific road wager all season long, failing to cover 15 of their last 20 road trips with a push. The Eagles are 6-2 ATS after an ATS loss. BC will bounce back after a blowout against Syracuse. |
02-21-22 |
Penn State +3 v. Maryland | Top | 61-67 |
Loss | -110 | 8 h 17 m | Show |
The Lions are 7-2 ATS following an ATS win and have covered 7 of their last 10 overall. They are one of the better defensive teams in College Basketball while Maryland tends to play play up to their level of competition to much to put your money behind. |
02-21-22 |
UTEP v. Middle Tennessee -5.5 | Top | 59-77 |
Win | 100 | 8 h 9 m | Show |
This is an obvious winner. I expect the public to be all over UTEP with the Miners being a solid ATS wager of late but we can't overlook what the Blue Raiders have done covering 18 of their last 24 games with a 2 pushes. |
02-21-22 |
Georgia Tech v. Syracuse -8.5 | Top | 73-74 |
Loss | -110 | 8 h 57 m | Show |
The Orange has been exceptional against teams with a losing record, covering 6 of their last 7. The Yellow Jackets are just 6-13-2 ATS overall. |
02-17-22 |
Towson v. NC-Wilmington +3 | Top | 79-55 |
Loss | -110 | 5 h 12 m | Show |
The Seahawks are one of the teams I like to jump on as an underdog. The dog is 21-5 ATS in their last 26 meetings. |
02-16-22 |
Jazz -4.5 v. Lakers | Top | 101-106 |
Loss | -110 | 9 h 57 m | Show |
Gone are the days where the Lakers can rely on their prolific point-of-attack defense, chasers and wing stoppers who they all exchanged for in the Russell Westbrook trade and when they decided to acquire more offense in the off season. |
02-16-22 |
Raptors -1.5 v. Wolves | Top | 103-91 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 6 m | Show |
Toronto is coming off a 30 pt loss to New Orleans but don't let that scare you away from taking the Raptors tonight. The Raptors are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games at Minnesota. |
02-16-22 |
Spurs -7.5 v. Thunder | Top | 114-106 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 60 m | Show |
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is out due to a sprained ankle. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl is out due to a fractured foot. Lu Dort is out due to a shoulder strain. Mike Muscala is out due to ankle soreness. Kenrich Williams is out due to a knee sprain. Ty Jerome is out due to hip soreness. Take the Spurs in this one. |
02-16-22 |
Hawks -5.5 v. Magic | Top | 130-109 |
Win | 100 | 6 h 9 m | Show |
The Orlando Magic have the second-worst record in the NBA and are in the midst of a complete tear-down rebuild. According to Tankathon, the Magic have a 52.1% chance of landing a top-four draft pick and a 14% chance of getting the highly-coveted number one draft pick. |
02-09-22 |
Yale v. Harvard -1.5 | Top | 62-59 |
Loss | -110 | 6 h 21 m | Show |
The Crimson has been a reliable 21-10-2 ATS after a SU loss, while the Bulldogs are just 2-8 ATS after a SU win. They're also just 3-11 ATS against teams with a winning record. |
02-07-22 |
Knicks v. Jazz -7.5 | Top | 104-113 |
Win | 100 | 10 h 26 m | Show |
After reaching the postseason last year, the New York Knicks were supposed to kick on and build from there. But that hasn't been the case this season as a string of poor performances has had folks questioning whether last year's exploits were a fluke. Kemba Walker's acquisition over the summer brought a lot of hype to the organization but has provided the Knicks with nothing in terms of performances as Walker has been called out for his defensive frailties. Veteran teammate Julius Randle has also come under immense scrutiny this season while another veteran player in Derrick Rose continues to be plagued by injuries. |
02-01-22 |
South Carolina +8.5 v. Mississippi State | Top | 64-78 |
Loss | -110 | 7 h 42 m | Show |
The South Carolina defense is one of the best in the country. They'd be a force on the national scene if they could limit their turnovers. This number is too high, they have a chance to win outright. |
01-31-22 |
Oilers v. Senators +1.5 | Top | 2-3 |
Win | 100 | 8 h 38 m | Show |
The Oilers still haven't shown me enough consistency to back them, especially when they face the Eastern Conference teams where they've lost 6 of their last 7. They're just 3-7 the game after scoring five or more goals. I'll take the insurance with the Senators tonight. |
01-30-22 |
Cavs -7.5 v. Pistons | Top | 105-115 |
Loss | -110 | 4 h 24 m | Show |
There's no comparison on the offensive end between these two teams. The Cavs shoot almost 47%, if they are near that number the Pistons will never keep pace. |
01-29-22 |
South Florida v. Tulsa -5.5 | Top | 45-76 |
Win | 100 | 6 h 3 m | Show |
Tulsa ranks second in three-point field goal percentage (40.7), third in turnovers per game (11.2), fourth in assist-turnover ratio (1.45), 15th in fewest turnovers (157), 20th in three-point field goals made per game (8.9), 20th in won-lost percentage (85.7), 30th in three-point field goals made (124), 32nd in field goal percentage (45.1), 35th in free throw percentage (76.3), 37th in turnover margin (4.79), 43rd in scoring offense (74.1), 49th in scoring margin (13.4). That's really all that needs to be said. This is a complete mismatch. |
01-29-22 |
Kings v. 76ers -10.5 | Top | 101-103 |
Loss | -103 | 7 h 10 m | Show |
When the 76ers visited the Kings on Nov. 22, the severely shorthanded Sixers took a 102-94 victory, despite missing Embiid, Harris, Seth Curry, and Danny Green. So now that they are much healthier, there's no way the Kings stay within the number. |
01-29-22 |
North Alabama v. Kennesaw State -6.5 | Top | 71-58 |
Loss | -108 | 4 h 7 m | Show |
The Owls are one of the better offensive teams in the country which is our edge in this one. I don't think a team that barely shoots 40%, like the Lions, can stay with the Owls. |
01-29-22 |
Florida A&M -1.5 v. Alabama A&M | Top | 65-60 |
Win | 100 | 4 h 33 m | Show |
The Bulldogs are one of the worst shooting teams in college basketball, averaging just 57 points a game on just 37% shooting. The Rattlers aren't much better but I think they're good enough to shut the Bulldogs down the stretch. |
01-28-22 |
Clippers +7.5 v. Heat | Top | 114-121 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 49 m | Show |
The Heat and Clippers meet for the second and final matchup this season. Earlier this season, the Clippers recorded a, 112-109, win in Los Angeles on 11/11. Miami now looks to snap a team-long six-game losing streak to the Clippers. For the Heat, Markieff Morris (protocols), Kyle Lowry (personal reasons) and Victor Oladipo are out. |
01-26-22 |
Suns v. Jazz +2 | Top | 105-97 |
Loss | -110 | 9 h 15 m | Show |
Phoenix now stands at 37-9 overall, though it is still just 25-21 against the spread. While the Suns have taken out plenty of quality opponents this season, the most recent run may leave them slightly overvalued here. The Suns have covered four times over this seven-game winning streak but have failed to do so in the past two. The most recent game came against this same Jazz side, when they won by six in a game in which they were 12.5-point favorites. |
01-26-22 |
Boston College v. North Carolina -13 | Top | 47-58 |
Loss | -115 | 7 h 56 m | Show |
On Monday, the Tar Heels came out on top in a back-and-forth game against the Virginia Tech Hokies. Although they shot 33 percent in the second half, they rose from a four-point halftime lead to win 78-68. Say home-court advantage is a hoax all you want, but the environment of the Dean E. Smith Center is what this North Carolina team feeds off of, evidenced by its 10-0 record in Chapel Hill. The tar Heels lay it on the Eagles in this one. |
01-23-22 |
Rams v. Bucs -2.5 | Top | 30-27 |
Loss | -115 | 5 h 40 m | Show |
Tampa Bay has speed at every level of the defense and Stafford will have to ensure he doesn't let his guard down as Tampa Bay's quickness can ignite turnovers in a hurry. There are still questions about the health of left tackle Andrew Withworth’s ankle, so the play-action passes will likely be a vital part of the gameplan for Stafford's passing attack. |
01-23-22 |
Rider v. Niagara -6.5 | Top | 70-67 |
Loss | -110 | 3 h 9 m | Show |
The Purple Eagles will cover this spread because they are one of the better shooting teams from beyond the arc. The Broncs don't have the ability to keep up, shooting just 31% from beyond the arc. Niagara pulls away in the second half. |
01-21-22 |
Heat v. Hawks -1.5 | Top | 108-110 |
Win | 100 | 5 h 11 m | Show |
Last Friday night, the Heat defeated the Hawks for the second time in 48 hours. However, something was noticeably different in the home/away series. Last Wednesday, the Heat destroyed the Hawks 115-91 in their first matchup of the week (and the fans let the Hawks hear about it). Although the Hawks dropped the second game 124-118, their hustle and intensity were markedly better. Since that time, the Hawks are 2-1 with two consecutive home wins. For the first time since November, this team is showing signs of life. What's most interesting is they are accomplishing this without Clint Capela and Bogdan Bogdanovic. |
01-21-22 |
Toledo v. Ohio -4.5 | Top | 87-69 |
Loss | -106 | 4 h 40 m | Show |
The Ohio Bobcats are perfect 5-0 in MAC play and have only lost twice all season, compiling a record of 14-2 overall. Additionally, Ohio has won 9 -straight and their last loss was on December 1st when they lost to 13th ranked LSU 66-51. Their only other loss was back in November at Kentucky, who beat them 77-59. On Tuesday, Ohio destroyed Miami of Ohio on the road 86-63. Ben Vander Plas led the way with 23 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, and 4 three pointers. Mark Sears added 17 points, 9 assists and 3 steals while Jason Carter had 13 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. |
01-20-22 |
Marshall v. Florida International +3 | Top | 66-70 |
Win | 100 | 4 h 55 m | Show |
In the end, Florida International is a better defensive team, allowing just 39.8% FG against this season while the Thundering Hurd will get exposed as they allow the opposition to shoot in the 45% range. |
01-18-22 |
Pistons v. Warriors -15 | Top | 86-102 |
Win | 100 | 8 h 39 m | Show |
On Monday, we told you that Golden State's Steph Curry was now the clear favorite to win a third-career NBA regular-season MVP Award thanks to the injury suffered by former favorite Kevin Durant, and Curry will play Tuesday night in what appears to be a major mismatch against the visiting Detroit Pistons after sitting out Sunday. The Dubs remain without Draymond Green but are still 15-point favorites. I think the books are trying to coerce you to bet the Pistons, but we won't fall for that. |
01-18-22 |
Wolves -2.5 v. Knicks | Top | 112-110 |
Loss | -110 | 5 h 12 m | Show |
After briefly climbing back over .500 with Saturday's 117-108 win at Atlanta, New York trailed by as many as 23 and absorbed a 97-87 loss to the Hornets that snapped a five-game home winning streak. The Knicks were doomed by a poor start as they allowed the game's first seven points and trailed by 18 at halftime before allowing 35 points in the second half. They also had no answers for Charlotte's Miles Bridges, who scored 38 points, and shot a dreadful 11 of 21 from the free-throw line. I think the Wolves are in a better spot right now. |
01-17-22 |
Suns -3.5 v. Spurs | Top | 121-107 |
Win | 100 | 5 h 57 m | Show |
Since that Pistons game, the Spurs have won just two of its last 11 contests. The Spurs’ most-used starting lineup of Murray, White, Keldon Johnson, Doug McDermott and Jakob Poeltl hasn’t played together since the win over the Lakers on Dec. 23. San Antonio is getting close to being back to 100%, though. All of its starters are out of COVID health and safety protocols. Tread lightly because this number does cause me to pause. |
01-16-22 |
Jazz v. Nuggets +5 | Top | 125-102 |
Loss | -102 | 6 h 42 m | Show |
The Denver Nuggets will take on the Utah Jazz tonight in hopes of beating them for the first time this season. The two teams faced off twice this season and Utah has scored 115+ points in each matchup. While the Nugget offense has struggled frequently this season, that has not been the case against the Jazz. They scored 110 in the first matchup and 109 points in the second. |
01-16-22 |
Rockets v. Kings -5.5 | Top | 118-112 |
Loss | -110 | 4 h 57 m | Show |
One game after setting a season-high in scoring in a game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento forward Marvin Bagley III did it again Friday against the Houston Rockets, producing his fourth double-double with 26 points and 13 rebounds in a 126-114 win at home. Bagley was instrumental in the Kings' victory and if Sacramento is to complete a sweep of its back-to-back against the Rockets, with the second game slated for Sunday at Sacramento, the Kings will need more of the production he has delivered of late. I think they win this one easy. |
01-15-22 |
Lakers v. Nuggets -3.5 | Top | 96-133 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 43 m | Show |
Those small-ball deficiencies were on full display Wednesday, as the Lakers’ weak point-of-attack defense caused them to give up 70 points in the paint to the Kings, the most they had given up in any game this season. This has been a trend this week, as they gave up 62 points in the paint to the Grizzlies on Sunday, their third-highest mark of the year. Until that changes, I can't back them to cash a ticket. |
01-15-22 |
Knicks +2.5 v. Hawks | Top | 117-108 |
Win | 100 | 5 h 7 m | Show |
The Knicks are coming off a 108-85 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. New York has won two straight and seven of its last 10. Atlanta gave up a seven-point fourth-quarter lead and dropped a 124-118 decision to the Miami Heat on Friday. The Hawks have lost four in a row and eight of their last 10. The Hawks are 3 1/2 games outside the final playoff spot, currently held by New York. |
01-09-22 |
Nuggets -7 v. Thunder | Top | 99-95 |
Loss | -110 | 12 h 45 m | Show |
Oklahoma City’s defense has impressed at times throughout the season (especially as of late) but is still vulnerable when it comes to defending beyond the arc. Opponents have attempted 40.8 percent of their total shot attempts from deep against the Thunder, the third-highest frequency in the league. Even more damaging for Oklahoma City’s defense is that teams have connected on 36.3 percent of those attempts, a top-10 percentage in the league. After a slow start from downtown to begin the season, the Nuggets come on in recent weeks and are up to 34.6 percent from beyond the arc on the year. 3-point attempts have accounted for 38.2 percent of Denver’s total shot attempts, a frequency near the top 10 of the league. |
01-08-22 |
Magic v. Pistons -2 | Top | 92-97 |
Win | 100 | 15 h 48 m | Show |
Obviously not a marquee match-up but it's definitely a winner. Why? Because the Pistons are still working hard on defense. They are 7-30 but we know we'll get their best effort and against the Magic that's good enough for a blowout win. |
01-06-22 |
Seattle University -9.5 v. Chicago State | Top | 93-77 |
Win | 100 | 5 h 55 m | Show |
In games played through Jan. 3, Seattle U ranks among the nation's top 50 in five team categories: 15th in 3-pt FG per game (10.5)19th in 3-pt FGs made (137)32nd in 3-pt FG attempts (371)42nd in turnover margin (3.5)45th in assist to turnover ratio (1.33) |
01-06-22 |
Tenn-Martin v. Tennessee State -5 | Top | 94-78 |
Loss | -110 | 4 h 24 m | Show |
Tennessee State is one of the better offenses in College Basketball as they face one of the worst defenses. Tennessee State isn't much better but I'm not sure Martin has the ability to exploit State's weakness. |
01-06-22 |
Binghamton v. Albany -4 | Top | 88-79 |
Loss | -110 | 4 h 5 m | Show |
Back to my old stomping grounds for this match-up. The Great Danes are one of the bets in College Basketball in limiting opponents possesions which works in their hands because Binghamtion isn't a team that will push the pace. Albany opens this one up in the second half. |
01-05-22 |
Warriors -5.5 v. Mavs | Top | 82-99 |
Loss | -106 | 7 h 59 m | Show |
Dallas is still without several key players. Trey Burke (health and safety protocols) is questionable; Willie Cauley-Stein (personal reasons) is out; Boban Marjanović (health and safety protocols) is out; Kristaps Porzingis (health and safety protocols) is out; Isaiah Thomas (health and safety protocols) is out. Dirk is getting his jersey retired after the game in an effort to ensure the Mavericks are not distracted but I've seen too many of these special nights not go the home team's way, no matter when the ceremony is held. |
01-05-22 |
Oilers v. Maple Leafs -1.5 | Top | 2-4 |
Win | 100 | 6 h 30 m | Show |
The news about Connor McDavid being out is huge considering this is an Oilers team who is once again struggling for an identity and what they have will not be playing. Rumors are swirling about another coaching change which I think would be a mistake but this is a franchise that has struggled for a long time. |
01-04-22 |
Suns -7.5 v. Pelicans | Top | 123-110 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 58 m | Show |
Phoenix has won seven of its last 10, led by its deep and balanced roster. During this most recent stretch, the Suns have eight different players averaging double figures. Devin Booker is playing to form, averaging more than 24 points per game. Chris Paul and DeAndre Ayton remain a lethal pick and roll combo. Monty Williams has scored in the post and on the perimeter on his bench as well. If that wasn’t enough to deal with, the Suns are as good as anyone in the NBA at stopping teams from scoring. |
01-04-22 |
Colgate v. Lehigh +9.5 | Top | 81-85 |
Win | 100 | 5 h 12 m | Show |
It's hard to understand why this number is so high with both teams being an unreliable source of offense and with Colgate being one of the worst defensive teams in College Basketball. |
01-02-22 |
Dartmouth +5 v. Cornell | Top | 71-79 |
Loss | -108 | 1 h 26 m | Show |
This one is simple. Dartmouth needs to slow down one of the efficient offenses in the country, something they've struggled with this season. This number looks funny to me so we're not going to pass against what the bookmakers are clearly trying to feed you in this one. |
01-01-22 |
Northern Colorado +6.5 v. Southern Utah | Top | 91-81 |
Win | 100 | 5 h 16 m | Show |
The Thunderbirds have been a profitable spread team this season but when asked to cover a bigger number like this one they are just 2-4 ATS. They're are not a great shooting team so the Bears will have their chances to stay close. NC is 7-4-1 against the number this year. |
01-01-22 |
Nebraska-Omaha +18 v. Oral Roberts | Top | 62-107 |
Loss | -117 | 5 h 31 m | Show |
For as bad as the Mavericks have been this season, Oral Roberts is a turnover machine and can't be trusted to cover such a big number. If there's one strength of the Mavericks it's they are well-coached and not sloppy. This will prove too large of a number. |
01-01-22 |
Senators v. Maple Leafs -1.5 | Top | 0-6 |
Win | 100 | 13 h 53 m | Show |
The Ottawa Senators have been a weak play when coming off a day or more off. The Senators haven't played in two weeks, so this certainly qualifies. Toronto has been a strong play at home this season and as we've seen so far, the better teams are putting up a ton of goals. |
01-01-22 |
Tulane +9.5 v. Cincinnati | Top | 68-60 |
Win | 100 | 3 h 22 m | Show |
After nearly two weeks off due to the holidays and COVID-19 postponements, Cincinnati (10-3) opens up its AAC schedule with Tulane (4-6) on Saturday night. UC faced the daunting task of traveling to No. 12 Houston on Tuesday, but injuries and COVID-19 issues caused the game's postponement. The Green Wave had issues of their own in early December due to the virus, but they are healthy now and looked it in their 85-84 upset win over Memphis to start their AAC schedule. |
12-31-21 |
Blazers v. Lakers -5 | Top | 106-139 |
Win | 100 | 9 h 58 m | Show |
The Portland Trailblazers may be just what the doctor ordered for the Los Angeles Lakers. With both teams struggling, it's the Blazers that seem the most lost against the oppositions big men. We saw that against Dallas and Utah, so it's hard to believe that they'll be able to handle D'andre Jordan in this one. |
12-31-21 |
Wolves v. Jazz -12.5 | Top | 108-120 |
Loss | -104 | 6 h 19 m | Show |
Minnesota fell to the New York Knicks in the second game of a back-to-back on Tuesday, 96-88. The loss marked the first time in 20 games the Timberwolves failed to reach 100 points. Guard Malik Beasley led the Wolves with 20 points, but the team struggled to connect from the floor all game, going 7-of-38 from the three-point line in the loss. The Utah Jazz, meanwhile, are in the midst of a five-game winning streak. Utah defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 120-105 on Wednesday led by center Rudy Gobert's 22 points and 14 rebounds. This season, the Jazz have won both meetings to date versus Minnesota, including a 128-116 victory over the Wolves on Dec. 23 in Utah. |
12-29-21 |
Jazz -7 v. Blazers | Top | 120-105 |
Win | 100 | 11 h 32 m | Show |
The Portland Trail Blazers have their backs firmly against the wall. They are losing games at an alarming rate and with head coach Chauncey Billups and seven players out due to the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols, things could become much worse before they get better for the Blazers. Portland lost its 11th game in 14 outings Monday night, 132-117 to Dallas at home. The Blazers (13-20) entered Tuesday night in 11th place in the Western Conference and appear to be a lot closer to capturing a top-five pick in the 2022 NBA draft than they do a top-six seed in the NBA playoffs. |
12-29-21 |
Illinois State v. Wisconsin -16.5 | Top | 85-89 |
Loss | -110 | 6 h 22 m | Show |
Playing for the first time since Dec. 15, No. 24 Wisconsin (9-2) returns to action to face Illinois State (8-5) in the final non-conference tune-up. Illinois State is likely going to have a ton of problems on the glass against Wisconsin. The Redbirds are one of the worst rebounding teams in the country, allowing 11.4 offensive boards per contest, which ranks No. 345 in college basketball out of 358 teams. In fact, their opponents get about 32 percent of this misses back. Meanwhile, the Badgers are having one of their best years in recent memory on the offensive glass. UW has already posted seven games of double-digit offensive boards. By comparison, this is something the Badgers did just eight times in 2020-21 with an experienced frontcourt. When UW hits 10 or more offensive rebounds, they are 6-1 this season, with the lone loss coming against Providence without Davis. |
12-28-21 |
Nuggets v. Warriors -7.5 | Top | 89-86 |
Loss | -103 | 8 h 30 m | Show |
The Nuggets remain one of the most inconsistent teams in the NBA on a night-to-night basis. They can hang with the league’s top teams one night before getting blown out by teams that will be picking in the top five next summer in the draft. After the starters were carrying the bench for the first month and a half of the season, the bench has been doing the heavy lifting as of late to keep the team in games. The stars need to start carrying their weight again. |
12-28-21 |
Knicks -3.5 v. Wolves | Top | 96-88 |
Win | 100 | 6 h 8 m | Show |
As of Monday, the Knicks were in decent shape, with only three players — C Nerlens Noel, G Miles McBride and F Jericho Sims — in the league's health and safety protocols. Sims, a Minneapolis native who played at Texas, was in 10 NBA games before going into protocols Thursday. I know the Wolves were terrific against the Celtics with their entire starting line-up out but reality hits them hard tonight. |
12-27-21 |
Brown +10.5 v. Syracuse | Top | 62-93 |
Loss | -120 | 16 h 53 m | Show |
Defensively, the Orange will need to improve their zone that has been a primary factor in most, if not all, of their losses this season. Brown’s offense isn’t spectacular, but it could still find ways to score if the holes in an SU unit that’s 227th in 3-point defense and 252nd in 2-point defense emerge once again. Patching those areas will be a necessary factor for the Orange to avoid dropping their sixth nonconference game this season. |
12-21-21 |
Morehead State v. IUPU-Indianapolis +16 | Top | 80-52 |
Loss | -105 | 16 h 11 m | Show |
The Jaguars defensive is one of the best in the country at limiting offensive possessions. This is too big of a number to cover against a team that could win outright. |
12-20-21 |
Spurs v. Clippers -4.5 | Top | 116-92 |
Loss | -108 | 10 h 20 m | Show |
After a tough loss to the OKC Thunder, the LA Clippers are looking to bounce back at home against the San Antonio Spurs. Currently sitting at 11-18, the Spurs are one of the worst teams in the Western Conference. With several teams right behind them in the standings, the Clippers need to win games like these, especially after falling to the last place Thunder on Saturday. |
12-19-21 |
Blazers v. Grizzlies -5.5 | Top | 105-100 |
Loss | -107 | 4 h 30 m | Show |
While the Trail Blazers have struggled with defense, the Grizzlies definitely have not. It’s a tough matchup for Portland when their opponents are good defenders, which is going to be an issue with Memphis. The Blazers are going to need to find ways around it, and also play good defense of their own. I think that's too much to ask in this one. |
12-19-21 |
Heat -7.5 v. Pistons | Top | 90-100 |
Loss | -102 | 4 h 22 m | Show |
It will be the second game between these two franchises in this 2021/22 NBA regular season. The previous one occurred a little less than a month ago, on November 23. On that occasion, the Heat beat the Pistons 100-92 with a great performance from Tyler Herro who converted 31 points for Miami. The objectives of each team are quite different: it is clear that with 4-23 they cannot aspire to great things this season and it will be better if they continue with their tanking plan. On the side of the Miami Heat, they have a great opportunity against a weak team to add a victory that would put them on the same line as the Bucks, today 3rd in the Conference. |
12-18-21 |
Cavs -2.5 v. Bucks | Top | 119-90 |
Win | 100 | 6 h 9 m | Show |
The Milwaukee Bucks are facing not only a back-to-back but a severely depleted roster as they continue to patch together a team amidst injuries and the health and safety protocols. They fly back to Milwaukee to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers Saturday night. |
12-14-21 |
Arkansas-Pine Bluff v. Texas -35 | Top | 31-63 |
Loss | -110 | 5 h 60 m | Show |
No. 17 Texas will look to get back on the winning track and remain unbeaten at home when the Longhorns host hapless Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday in Austin, Texas. The Longhorns (6-2) return to the floor after a 64-60 loss on the road at then-No. 23 Seton Hall on Thursday that snapped Texas' five-game win streak. The Golden Lions are 0-9 on the road this season and have already dropped road games, in blowout fashion, to two teams from the Big 12 Conference -- Iowa State (83-64) and Baylor (99-54). Arkansas-Pine Bluff's 10 losses have come by an average of 23.3 points per game. Its only win this season was by five points over Arkansas Baptist College, an NAIA program. |
12-14-21 |
Warriors -4.5 v. Knicks | Top | 105-96 |
Win | 100 | 5 h 52 m | Show |
The Golden State Warriors plane will not show up in New York until five hours before tip-off. We see the public react in the only they have for decades, by betting against the team having all the problems. That's not how we're going to attack this. The Warriors are a better team and the bench may be utilized more which is fine because guys want to get noticed when they get more minutes, and you do that by scoring. Wait because you'll likely get a better number closer to gametime |
12-13-21 |
Wizards v. Nuggets -3.5 | Top | 107-113 |
Win | 100 | 9 h 45 m | Show |
Monday night’s game opens what will be Washington’s longest stretch of consecutive road games this season – a six-game trip comprised of matchups with Denver, Sacramento, Phoenix, Utah, Brooklyn and New York. The road has presented a challenge for the Wizards this season. They’ve gone 7-8 in their first 15 road games compared to 8-4 at Capital One Arena, but are looking at the trip as an opportunity at a time when they need a spark. Nikola Jokic, the NBA’s reigning Most Valuable Player, is coming off a dominant performance Friday night in San Antonio and is playing some of his best basketball of his career. Against the Spurs, Jokic totaled 35 points, 17 rebounds, eight assists and a pair of blocks – making if three of the last five games he’s scored at least 32 points. Jokic has recorded double-digit rebounds in each of his last nine games and a triple-double in three of his last four. |
12-11-21 |
Alabama A&M v. Samford -12.5 | Top | 50-52 |
Loss | -110 | 4 h 25 m | Show |
Samford is ranked third in College Basketball in possessions per game, so you can bet that they'll have plenty of chance to extend their lead in the second half to give us a cover. Contain Garrett Hicks, we'll have an easy cover. |
12-10-21 |
Lakers -4.5 v. Thunder | Top | 116-95 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 32 m | Show |
The Thunder are ranked dead last in points per game (with the offensive rating of 100.3 per 100 possessions) in the league. They’re also at the bottom of the league in 3-point percentage (30.9%). The Lakers have to make sure all that continues by getting stops and converting their defense to offense in Friday’s game. |
12-09-21 |
Lakers -3 v. Grizzlies | Top | 95-108 |
Loss | -110 | 11 h 12 m | Show |
Frank Vogel and the team made a notable pre-game adjustment prior to the Celtics game, starting Anthony Davis at center. Dwight Howard left the starting lineup (after only being in it one game) while Avery Bradley re-entered the lineup after missing two games due to a thumb injury. The lineup proved to be extremely successful for the team, even if it got off to a rough start at the beginning of the game (a rough start that was mostly due to Jayson Tatum shooting lights out with 14 points in the first four minutes of the game). As is to be expected, AD starting at the five ended up improving the team’s spacing dramatically, leading to the offense getting to the rim all night. This resulted in the Lakers outscoring the Celtics 66-42 in the paint. |
12-09-21 |
Jazz -3 v. 76ers | Top | 118-96 |
Win | 100 | 10 h 7 m | Show |
The Jazz have found some rhythm having won each of their last five games as they continue to stake their claim as a force in the West. Featuring outstanding displays by Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, the Jazz will attempt to make up for the losses they faced earlier in the season. The win against the Timberwolves saw a balanced performance from their key players. Rudy Gobert registered a double-double and Jordan Clarkson managed 18 points off the bench. The Jazz also saw Donovan Mitchell lead the scoring effort with 36 points. |
12-07-21 |
North Carolina A&T v. East Carolina -10 | Top | 71-82 |
Win | 100 | 3 h 46 m | Show |
The Aggies are just 2-7-1 ATS against teams with a winning record and 1-6-2 against teams with a win percentage over .600. The Pirates are 5-2 ATS following a SU win. |
12-06-21 |
Alcorn State v. Houston -32.5 | Top | 45-77 |
Loss | -106 | 5 h 51 m | Show |
Even with all the new faces, the Houston Cougars had great expectations following the program's first Final Four appearance in 37 years. In truth, those expectations were unfair. The Cougars have performed exceptionally in the early stages of this season, with No. 15 Houston (7-1) producing a 111-44 home victory over Bryant last Friday that tied for the third-largest margin of victory in program history. The Cougars will host Alcorn State (1-6) on Monday and, in all likelihood, will record a third consecutive blowout triumph. |
12-04-21 |
Spurs v. Warriors -9.5 | Top | 112-107 |
Loss | -110 | 12 h 25 m | Show |
The basketball world’s 2-year reprieve from the dominance of the Golden State Warriors appears to have reached its conclusion early on in the 2021-2022 campaign. After nearly sneaking into the playoffs last season as the lower seed no one wants to play against when April rolls around, they”ve come back with a few tweaks. Last year’s success was largely built on one of the league’s best defenses (a top 5 unit) and the ridiculous offensive prowess of scoring champion Stephen Curry, who went on a tear after the All Star Break. That prowess was able to cover up a lot of Golden State’s deficiencies on the offensive end, where they finished just 20th in offensive rating. This year, the defense is just as good, while the offense is once again humming at the level fan’s became accustomed to during their 5-year dominance over the Western Conference. At 19-3, they have the make-up of a team that can make a deep run in the playoffs. |
12-04-21 |
Heat v. Bucks -5.5 | Top | 102-124 |
Win | 100 | 12 h 59 m | Show |
In game one between these two teams on opening night, the Heat lit up Milwaukee for 137 points. This time, Erick Spoelstra’s team will be without Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo for their encounter with the Milwaukee Bucks. They are unlikely to reproduce the same scoring barrage without two of their best players for the rematch. It’ll be a tough matchup for the Miami Heat on the road against the resurgent home team. |
12-04-21 |
Robert Morris v. Wisc-Milwaukee -3.5 | Top | 69-77 |
Win | 100 | 3 h 45 m | Show |
Neither team is that great to start the season but where the Colonials will have an edge is rebounding. Robert Morris has failed to cover one game this season, that trend continues this afternoon. |
12-03-21 |
VMI v. Portland -4.5 | Top | 90-82 |
Loss | -110 | 7 h 16 m | Show |
You know you're going to get an above-average temp game with the Pilots in addition to their true shooting percentage being a constant weapon. This match-up should be a shootout but I'll take the Pilots who are red hot at home. |
12-03-21 |
76ers v. Hawks -2 | Top | 98-96 |
Loss | -104 | 7 h 41 m | Show |
The Hawks have the second-highest offensive rating in the league (112.4) and the second-highest three-point percentage (37.4%). When the offense plays with pace, they are a free-flowing and fun team to watch. |
12-02-21 |
Thunder v. Grizzlies -9.5 | Top | 79-152 |
Win | 100 | 5 h 21 m | Show |
The Memphis Grizzlies are entering an important stretch beginning Thursday — no, I’m not talking about more games without Ja Morant, I’m talking about December. During the 12th month of the year, the Grizzlies play 14 of their 16 games against Western Conference teams. That means this month is huge as far as positioning in the conference. In the team’s first two games without Ja, it’s been so far so good. The team is 2-0 after picking up a nice win on the road in Toronto on Tuesday night. If the Grizz are going to stay afloat while their superstar is on the shelf, then they have to beat the teams they are better than. I know that should go without saying, but we have seen the Grizzlies underachieve against teams they are more talented then. |
12-01-21 |
Mavs -2.5 v. Pelicans | Top | 139-107 |
Win | 100 | 9 h 53 m | Show |
The Mavericks come in after a 18-pt beatdown against Cleveland, but remember, we never get too high or low off of what we just saw; especially with current form saying that the Mavericks are playing well on the road with four ATS covers in their last five games. The Pelicans have lost 16 of 25 SU. |
12-01-21 |
La Salle v. Temple -6.5 | Top | 57-73 |
Win | 100 | 5 h 16 m | Show |
We're on another team playing against a weak defense, which is what the Explorers bring to the table. La Salle will not force turnovers and are soft inside. This plays right into the hands of the Owls who are more of a dribble penetration team. Expect temple to live at the free-throw line tonight. |
11-30-21 |
Warriors +2.5 v. Suns | Top | 96-104 |
Loss | -110 | 17 h 36 m | Show |
The Warriors are playing as if their five-year dynastic run never ended. They’re first in the NBA in defensive rating (points allowed per 100 possessions) and second in offensive rating. In all, they’re outscoring their opponents by nearly 14 points per game. They’re a juggernaut. All while Klay Thompson and James Wiseman sit on the bench, awaiting returns from injury. |
11-30-21 |
Duke -3 v. Ohio State | Top | 66-71 |
Loss | -110 | 15 h 21 m | Show |
Duke has had some impressive wins thus far. The Blue Devils are now 7-0 and have taken down Kentucky and Gonzaga, which were ranked at No. 10 and No. 1, respectively, at the time of the games. The Blue Devils have been solid both defensively and offensively, beating their opponents by an average of 21 points, but there’s one caveat that concerns these successes: Duke has not played a true road game. This will be the final test before Duke can declare themselves legit title contenders. |
11-29-21 |
Lafayette -1 v. Columbia | Top | 73-50 |
Win | 100 | 5 h 9 m | Show |
Both of these teams are bad the Leopard's tempo is much faster than the pace Columbia wants to play at, giving us more possessions. Lion's perimeter defense is nonexistent. |
11-27-21 |
Wolves v. 76ers -5 | Top | 121-120 |
Loss | -107 | 5 h 44 m | Show |
Philadelphia has defeated the Wolves in eight consecutive meetings, now narrowly leading the all-time series 31-29. There is optimism Joel Embiid can return to the team. He has missed nine games in a row after testing positive for COVID-19. He has not played since Nov. 6 in a win over the Chicago Bulls, and the Sixers have missed their star big man. The return of Embiid would do so much for Philadelphia, and it would help young guard Tyrese Maxey get the Sixers moving in the right direction again. |
11-22-21 |
Valparaiso v. Jacksonville State -6.5 | Top | 78-70 |
Loss | -110 | 15 h 51 m | Show |
Dating back to last season, Valpo is just 1-6 ATS against teams with a losing record and have failed to cover four straight overall. The Gamecocks have covered 6 of 7 overall and 5 of 6 against teams with a losing record. |
11-19-21 |
Thunder v. Bucks -12.5 | Top | 89-96 |
Loss | -120 | 14 h 36 m | Show |
When Milwaukee has won this season they've crushed their opponents and the Thunder figure to be a team that the Bucks are going to handle. The opposite is true for the Thunder who have been good in spots but still lose by an average of 17 points. This one is an easy winner. |
11-19-21 |
Oakland v. Alabama -15 | Top | 59-86 |
Win | 100 | 13 h 20 m | Show |
The Golden Grizzlies won't be able to keep up with the pace of play from the Crimson Tide. Alabama averages over 74 possessions a game ranking them 26th in the country. Those possessions have led to just under 80 points a game, this doesn't bode well for Oakland who is one of the country's worst defensive teams. |
11-18-21 |
Spurs v. Wolves -2 | Top | 90-115 |
Win | 100 | 16 h 55 m | Show |
Minnesota is home to one of the highest-scoring trios in the NBA as Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards, and D’Angelo Russell have combined for precisely 64.0 points per game this season. Towns and Russell have garnered a couple of All-Star nods early into their careers. And Edwards already looks the part of a future go-to option after going first overall in the 2020 Draft and putting together a stellar rookie campaign. |
11-18-21 |
Coastal Carolina +1.5 v. NC-Wilmington | Top | 53-65 |
Loss | -110 | 15 h 37 m | Show |
The Chanticleers won their first game of the season by playing tenacious defense, holding Ferrum to under 40% shooting. I know this is a step up if they can get close to their 80pts scored in game one, they will win this game easily. |
11-16-21 |
76ers v. Jazz -8.5 | Top | 85-120 |
Win | 100 | 17 h 18 m | Show |
The 76ers are currently a pandemic within a pandemic it seems like. They are now sixth in the Eastern Conference with a record of eight wins and six losses with four of them coming from their last five games. The Jazz are tied for second in the league for points differential with +6.6 points. The team averages 110.2 points per game shooting 45.45 from the field and 32.1% from three. Utah blows out the Sixers tonight. |
11-16-21 |
BYU v. Oregon -4 | Top | 81-49 |
Loss | -110 | 17 h 6 m | Show |
Oregon lost their top three scorers from a year ago, but they return some nice pieces and reloaded via the transfer portal. The top returnee is Preseason First-Team All Pac-12 selection Will Richardson. The 6-foot-5 senior guard averaged 11.3 ppg and is the Ducks leading scorer through two games with 38 total points on 8-13 shooting from three. The Ducks start three high-level transfers that they brought in this offseason from P5 programs — De’Vion Harmon (who had BYU as a finalist), Jacob Young, and Quincy Guerrier. Each player averaged double digits last season. All 5 Oregon starters can shoot and they are an athletic team that can switch positions 1-5. |
11-14-21 |
South Dakota v. Drake -16.5 | Top | 50-99 |
Win | 100 | 5 h 4 m | Show |
The Drake Bulldogs opened their season in impressive fashion by scoring 87 points in their win over Coe College. In the contest, the Bulldogs asserted their dominance right from the start, scoring 47 points in the opening half. Their defense allowed just 31 and 30 points between the two halves. Against Coe, Drake shot the ball extremely well, finishing with a shooting percentage of 63%. They walked away with an offensive efficiency rating 120.8. The Coyotes won their first game but it was sloppy and inefficient. |
11-12-21 |
Rice v. Houston -14 | Top | 46-79 |
Win | 100 | 16 h 33 m | Show |
This is a spot the Cougars thrived in last season when they went 6-3 ATS when favored by 14.5 points or more. Houston is 11-5 ATS as a home favorite dating back to last season and has been terrific coming off an ATS loss. |
11-11-21 |
Heat v. Clippers -2.5 | Top | 109-112 |
Win | 100 | 17 h 16 m | Show |
Ty Lue’s Clippers will look to break down Miami’s defense in ways they’ve broken down other teams. Luke Kennard and Nicolas Batum will aim to light it up from beyond the arc; they have helped the Clippers sit at fourth in the league for three-pointers made per game. When their threes start falling and space starts to open up, the Clippers will have more than enough weapons to play havoc with the Heat. Batum and Terance Mann have been reliable secondary offensive threats when they find space near the rim and finish with exhilarating dunks or, in the case of Mann, revitalizing and-ones. Let’s not forget George, who has been doing it all for the Clippers regardless of the number of defenders on him. |
11-11-21 |
Cal-Riverside +10 v. Arizona State | Top | 66-65 |
Win | 100 | 15 h 1 m | Show |
This is a Sun Devil team that went 4-10 ATS last season and open up as a double-digit favorite in this one, a spot they didn't fare well in 2020-21. The Sun Devils were missing four players in their opener due to COVID contact tracing protocols and those players aren't expected to dress for Thursday's game. They include forward Jalen Graham and Boston College transfer Jay Heath. The others are true freshman Justin Rochelin and walk-on Jordan Williams. UC Riverside finished 14-8 overall and 8-4 in the Big West Conference a year ago. Its top player in the opener was 7-foot-1 junior center Callum McRae who totaled 13 points and four rebounds in the loss to the Aztecs. |
11-10-21 |
North Alabama v. Mississippi State -21 | Top | 49-75 |
Win | 100 | 7 h 42 m | Show |
The Mississippi State men's basketball team didn't make the NCAA Tournament last season. But the Bulldogs did make the NIT and got all the way to New York before losing to Memphis in the championship. So the next step this season would be for MSU, which hosts North Alabama in its season opener Wednesday night, to get to the NCAA Tournament. I think we'll see them with an easy win over the Lions. |
11-09-21 |
Texas-Arlington v. Oklahoma State -19 | Top | 45-88 |
Win | 100 | 16 h 58 m | Show |
The Cowboys lost Cunningham (20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds last season), but return 10 players from last year's roster, including its next eight highest scorers, led by junior guard Avery Anderson III (12.2). UT Arlington, which is coming off a 13-13 season, made a coaching change this offseason when it promoted longtime assistant Greg Young after former coach Chris Ogden was hired as an assistant coach at the University of Texas. I expect that the announcement that the Cowboys would not be eligible for the NCAA Tournament this season will light a fire under the Cowboys through the first couple of games. |
