02-24-23 | Thunder v. Suns -7.5 | Top | 115-124 | Win | 100 | 13 h 8 m | Show |
The Phoenix Suns were underachievers earlier this season, and deficiencies were evident when star guard Devin Booker was sidelined with a hamstring injury. But Phoenix won 11 of 15 games prior to the All-Star break, Booker is back healthy and the acquisition of Kevin Durant re-energized the squad. Suddenly, the Suns again are viewed as a title contender with just 22 games left in the regular season. Durant won't be on the court Friday night when Phoenix resumes play after the All-Star break with a home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but his effect is already evident. Durant sprained the medial collateral ligament in his right knee on Jan. 8 while he was a member of the Brooklyn Nets. He is close to a return -- possibly Sunday against the Milwaukee Bucks but more likely Wednesday versus the Charlotte Hornets -- and impressed his new teammates during a serious scrimmage on Thursday.

02-23-23 | Penn State v. Ohio State -2 | Top | 75-71 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 39 m | Show |
Penn State looks to keep its momentum going Thursday night when the Nittany Lions visit Ohio State for a Big Ten matchup in Columbus, Ohio. The Nittany Lions (16-11, 7-9) have won back-to-back games, led by reigning national and Big Ten Player of the Week Jalen Pickett's 73 points and 16 assists in the last two games. Pickett leads Penn State in scoring (18.6), rebounds (7.4) and assists (7.0) and is the only player in the country averaging at least 18 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Seth Lundy (14.4 points per game) and Andrew Funk (12.6) are also averaging double-digit points. The Nittany Lions are coming off a 76-69 win Saturday at Minnesota, their first road win since Dec. 10 at Illinois.
02-22-23 | Butler v. DePaul -2.5 | Top | 59-58 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 21 m | Show |
The penultimate week of the Big East season will feature a matchup of New England rivals on Wednesday night when No. 18 UConn plays host to No. 20 Providence in Storrs, Conn. Both teams are looking to build upon winning weekends, but the Friars (20-7, 12-4 Big East) have a three-game lead over the Huskies (20-7, 9-7) in the conference standings thanks in part to a 73-61 home victory on Jan. 4 in the teams' first meeting of the season. The Huskies, who were ranked fourth in the nation when they visited Providence, have played just once since losing Feb. 11 at then-No. 23 Creighton. They bounced back to beat visiting Seton Hall 64-55 on Saturday. UConn, which pulled away from the Pirates with a 14-0 run in the second half, got 20 points from Jordan Hawkins. Andre Jackson Jr. added a career-high 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

02-21-23 | Colorado State +11.5 v. San Diego State | Top | 58-77 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 20 m | Show |
San Diego State controls its destiny with two weeks left in the regular season, and the No. 22 Aztecs will try to maintain their slim lead in the Mountain West Conference standings Tuesday against visiting Colorado State. "That's the beauty of where we're at," Aztec coach Brian Dutcher said. "We don't need any help. Our fate is in our own hands. We have four games to go, and it's in our hands." San Diego State (21-5, 12-2 Mountain West) has won four in a row to take a one-game-game lead over Boise State and move two games up on Nevada. "We're in the position we need to be in," Dutcher said. "We don't need help. We just have to take care of our own business to hang a banner." The Aztecs split their two meetings with Nevada this season and have one game remaining against Boise State after beating the Broncos by 20 points on Feb. 3. Dutcher said there won't be any scoreboard-watching in the coaches' office.

02-18-23 | Colorado +13 v. Arizona | Top | 68-78 | Win | 100 | 9 h 18 m | Show |
No. 8 Arizona will try to get All-America candidate Azuolas Tubelis back on track when it hosts Colorado on Saturday in Tucson, Ariz., for the only scheduled meeting of the season between the Pac-12 foes. Tubelis had been a model of excellence and consistency until the last two games, which started with a loss at Stanford. He had his worst game, with four points and no rebounds while playing only 17 minutes due to foul trouble. His first half Thursday night against Utah was also something of a disaster. Tubelis picked up two personal fouls on the same play about five minutes into the game. He committed a foul on a push-off near midcourt in a loose-ball situation, and then compounded the problem by kicking the ball into the stands as it was rolling toward the baseline. Officials assessed a Class A technical foul (also a personal), and coach Tommy Lloyd sat Tubelis for the rest of the half.
02-17-23 | New Mexico +1.5 v. San Jose State | Top | 96-68 | Win | 100 | 13 h 37 m | Show |
Offensive production has been hard to come by for San Jose State this season, as they are currently ranked 399th in college basketball at 64.3 points per game. A significant reason for low-scoring totals is that they have played at a below-average pace, and have struggled to knock down outside shots. The Spartans’ 3-point shooting percentage sits at just 35.2% as a team, placing them 169th in the NCAA.

02-14-23 | St. John's v. DePaul +1.5 | Top | 92-83 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 8 m | Show |
It's been almost a month since St. John's won back-to-back contests. Meanwhile, DePaul would settle for just one victory at the moment. The Red Storm will look to build on their latest victory over a ranked opponent and snap a three-game road losing streak when they travel to Chicago on Tuesday night for a meeting with the Blue Demons, who have lost six straight. St. John's (15-11, 5-10 Big East) held then-No. 20 Providence to 33.3-percent shooting to end a three-game skid with Saturday's 73-68 home victory. Though it was the second time this season the Red Storm beat a ranked opponent, they're 2-5 since winning consecutive games on Jan. 10 and 15.

02-07-23 | Ohio -4 v. Northern Illinois | Top | 82-76 | Win | 100 | 11 h 19 m | Show |
On offense, Ohio is scoring a rate similar to the NCAA average at 73.9 points per game. This figure has come despite struggling to knock down shots from outside. Through 23 games, they have only hit 34.0% of their 3-point field goal attempts. For the season, 45.53% of their shots have come from beyond the arc.
02-07-23 | Knicks v. Magic +1.5 | Top | 102-98 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 36 m | Show |
After overcoming a 20-point deficit to win a game for the first time this season, the New York Knicks will try to carry the momentum into Tuesday's matchup against the host Orlando Magic. The Knicks' roller-coaster season hit a new peak over the weekend. One night after losing 134-128 in overtime to the Los Angeles Clippers, New York rallied from a 21-point deficit to beat the Philadelphia 76ers 108-97 on Sunday. Julius Randle had 24 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the victory, while Jalen Brunson added 21 points. The Knicks also received a welcome boost from reserves Evan Fournier (17 points), Miles McBride (14 points) and Isaiah Hartenstein (14 rebounds). "For us to come back today and compete and win the game, it says a lot about the character of our team," Randle said. "It was a big win." New York has struggled defensively since center Mitchell Robinson fractured his right thumb 10 games ago but held the Sixers to 18 points in the fourth quarter on Sunday.

01-30-23 | Hawks v. Blazers -2 | Top | 125-129 | Win | 100 | 13 h 50 m | Show |
A favorable 11-game stretch concludes Monday night for the Portland Trail Blazers, and the club didn't take advantage of the good fortune. The Trail Blazers host the Atlanta Hawks to conclude a span in which 10 of 11 games were at home over a 21-day stretch. Portland is just 4-6 during a time when a Jan. 17 game at the Denver Nuggets marks the only occasion it had to leave town. The Trail Blazers received another break for Saturday's clash with the Toronto Raptors. Portland was well-rested after not playing since Wednesday and the Raptors were playing the second night of a road back-to-back, having lost 129-117 to the Golden State Warriors on Friday night in San Francisco. But it was Toronto that looked refreshed while bolting to a 30-7 lead and posting an easy 123-105 victory over the Trail Blazers.
01-28-23 | Auburn +4 v. West Virginia | Top | 77-80 | Win | 100 | 3 h 7 m | Show |
No. 15 Auburn will aim to bounce back from its largest setback of the season when it visits West Virginia on Saturday in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge at Morgantown, W.Va. The Tigers (16-4) had a 28-game home unbeaten streak end when they fell 79-63 to Texas A&M on Wednesday. Auburn coach Bruce Pearl wants to avoid a second consecutive loss, but the Mountaineers (12-8) are better than their record in his eyes. "You look at West Virginia and you look at Texas A&M and you see a lot of similarities -- tough, physical, hard-nosed," Pearl said. The Tigers dug a 15-point halftime deficit against the Aggies and couldn't recover. Meanwhile, West Virginia produced a solid 76-61 road victory over Texas Tech on Wednesday. Pearl knows the Mountaineers will be a tough foe with Hall of Fame coach Bob Huggins known as a master of preparation.
01-26-23 | UC-Davis v. CS Bakersfield +8 | Top | 79-58 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 30 m | Show |

01-26-23 | Cavs -8.5 v. Rockets | Top | 113-95 | Win | 100 | 6 h 26 m | Show |
In what is a testament to the grueling nature of an 82-game season, the Cleveland Cavaliers seemingly have plateaued following a roaring start that made the rest of the league take notice. The grind appears to have caught up to the Cavaliers, who will continue their three-game road trip with a game against the Houston Rockets on Thursday. With a 105-103 road loss to the New York Knicks on Tuesday, the Cavaliers dropped to 6-6 in January. The offseason addition of three-time All-Star Donovan Mitchell to an ascendant roster paid immediate dividends for the Cavaliers, whose blend of frontcourt size and backcourt dynamism yielded instant success over the opening two-plus months of the regular season. This month, Cleveland is 15th in offensive rating (115.9), and its 2.1 net rating in January is 11th overall. Even the Cavaliers' defensive rating (113.8 this month) has slumped.
01-23-23 | Hornets v. Jazz -7.5 | Top | 102-120 | Win | 100 | 13 h 38 m | Show |
For only the fourth time since he opted to leave Utah to play for the Boston Celtics, Gordon Hayward is expected to face his former team in Salt Lake City on Monday night when his Charlotte Hornets take on the Jazz. Hayward returned to the Hornets' lineup Saturday after missing eight games with left hamstring soreness. He scored nine points in Charlotte's 122-118 victory at Atlanta. The Hornets have now won two straight, both on the road, after a five-game losing streak.

Wolf Pack are 16-5-2 ATS in their last 23 games overall and 15-5-2 ATS in their last 22 games vs. a team with a winning straight-up record.
01-22-23 | Clippers v. Mavs -1.5 | Top | 112-98 | Loss | -110 | 2 h 50 m | Show |
The Los Angeles Clippers' injury-plagued season has been marked by constant lineup adjustments and inconsistent play, but there are promising signs ahead. The Clippers look to build on their best-shooting game of the season when they continue their four-game road trip against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. Despite its .500 record, Los Angeles remains a viable title contender thanks to stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. When the pair is on the court together, the Clippers are as dangerous as any team in the league. The problem has been keeping them both on the floor. Los Angeles has struggled to build momentum with Leonard and George missing a combined 41 games due to injury or illness. Friday was just the third game the duo played together this month. Not surprisingly, the Clippers looked like a different team with both stars in the lineup. Leonard led the way with a season-high 36 points in Friday's 131-126 win over the San Antonio Spurs. The five-time All-Star also contributed seven assists, four rebounds and two steals.
01-21-23 | Giants +8 v. Eagles | Top | 7-38 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 3 m | Show |
Take a look at all the good fortune the Philadelphia Eagles have enjoyed ahead of their postseason opener and it's no wonder they're feeling great about a Super Bowl run. Jalen Hurts is healthy (enough) after the Pro Bowl quarterback missed two games late in the year with a sprained right shoulder. All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson was left off the injury report Thursday for the first time since he suffered a torn adductor late last month. The NFC postseason runs through the Linc. The Eagles went 2-0 this season against the New York Giants, their NFC East rivals who will be visiting on Saturday night. And they are the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Life is good in Philly.
01-21-23 | Rockets +8 v. Wolves | Top | 104-113 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 0 m | Show |
The injury report was long and the recent schedule unforgiving, yet for a team that disappointed over the first half of the schedule, the Minnesota Timberwolves finally displayed some impressive mettle Thursday. Despite being down a pair of starters in Karl-Anthony Towns (calf) and Rudy Gobert (groin) plus reserve guards Austin Rivers and Jordan McLaughlin, the Timberwolves rallied from a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit and improved to 6-1 at home this month with a 128-126 victory over the Toronto Raptors. Minnesota has won seven of its last 10 contests. The Timberwolves will host the Houston Rockets on Saturday in the first of back-to-back games between the teams, with the home-and-home series concluding on Monday in Houston. After blowing a late lead against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, the Timberwolves mustered the gumption to overcome Toronto. They did so with a collective effort led by D'Angelo Russell, who scored 16 of his 25 points in the fourth, Anthony Edwards (23 points, seven assists, three steals) and Kyle Anderson, who posted a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double.
01-20-23 | Nets v. Jazz -7.5 | Top | 117-106 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 29 m | Show |
The Brooklyn Nets hope a late, though unsuccessful, comeback attempt on Thursday at Phoenix will give them some momentum entering a Friday game against the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City. After falling behind the Suns by 24 points in the third quarter, the Nets rallied behind the hot hand of Kyrie Irving to pull within two in the final seconds. Though the Nets wound up losing 117-112 to fall to 0-4 since Kevin Durant was lost to a knee injury, Brooklyn coach Jacque Vaughn hopes his team learned a lesson.
01-20-23 | Villanova +4 v. St. John's | Top | 57-49 | Win | 100 | 9 h 35 m | Show |
Two weeks ago, St. John's was encouraged by its performance in a close loss at Providence, and now the Red Storm are feeling even more positive about recent results. Coming off a double-digit win at No. 15 UConn, the Red Storm seek a third straight victory Friday night when they host Villanova at Madison Square Garden. Starting with a 78-63 defeat at Villanova on Dec. 21, the Red Storm (13-6, 3-5 Big East) lost five straight, falling to Xavier, Seton Hall, Marquette and Providence. In the 83-80 setback to the Friars, St. John's rallied to tie twice in the second half after facing an eight-point deficit and coach Mike Anderson liked the energy. Anderson had plenty to enjoy in the subsequent two games, a 16-point home win over Butler on Jan. 10 and Sunday's 85-74 win against the Huskies in Hartford, Conn. On Sunday, the Red Storm outscored UConn 47-36 in the second half, shot 51.7 percent for the game, allowed 41.8 percent shooting and forced 21 turnovers. As usual, St. John's received a big game from NCAA double-doubles leader Joel Soriano, who collected 19 points and 13 rebounds for his 16th double-double.

01-17-23 | Houston v. Tulane +11 | Top | 80-60 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 45 m | Show |
No. 1 Houston welcomed a weekend off in the middle of the season. The short-handed Cougars defeated visiting South Florida 83-77 on Wednesday, their third game in seven days. Then they had five days without a game but will be back in action on Tuesday night when they meet with Tulane in New Orleans. "We got a little break here, so hopefully we can get some bodies back, get healthy, heal the wounded, feed the sick and do all that stuff and move on to the next one," Houston coach Kelvin Sampson said. "This has been a tough stretch. ... We've got so many guys out." The Cougars (17-1, 5-0 American Athletic Conference) played without second-leading scorer Jarace Walker (10.4 points per game) and key reserve Ramon Walker Jr. (15.1 minutes per game) against South Florida because of a variety of ailments. Sampson is hoping the Cougars are at full strength or close to it against Tulane. Leading scorer Marcus Sasser led the way against the Bulls by scoring a career-high 31 points, and fellow guard Jamal Shead added 20. The Cougars allowed a season-high in points to USF and trailed 53-48 with 13:40 left before going on a 20-4 run to take control.
01-16-23 | Rockets +5.5 v. Lakers | Top | 132-140 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 52 m | Show |
After reaching a major milestone Sunday, Lakers star LeBron James will set his sights on one of the NBA's most storied records as soon as Monday when Los Angeles hosts the Houston Rockets. James reached the 38,000-point plateau in Sunday's 113-112 loss to the visiting Philadelphia 76ers and will begin to take aim at Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record of 38,387 points as he tracks down a historic moment that figures to come next month. While Abdul-Jabbar saw a major scoring decline in his later seasons, including a 10.1 points-per-game mark in his final season of 1988-89, James is as productive as ever in his advancing age. James has averaged 29.2 points in 33 games this season after turning 38 late last month. More productivity came against the Sixers, as James scored his 12th point of the game on a jump shot from the top of the key with 5:43 remaining in the first quarter to reach 38,001 for his career. He had 16 of his 35 points in the first quarter. James has been bothered by a sore ankle as of late and was listed as probable going into Sunday's game, leaving a chance he could rest on the second night of a back-to-back. The Lakers lost their third consecutive game but have been far more competitive recently with a five-game winning streak through the first week of the month.
01-16-23 | Cowboys v. Bucs +3 | Top | 31-14 | Loss | -120 | 9 h 34 m | Show |
Tom Brady led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers down a winding path to the playoffs. Dak Prescott helped the Dallas Cowboys weather significant challenges on their way to the postseason. The star quarterbacks meet Monday night in an NFC wild-card game, and they are hoping the regular-season adversity will pave the way to a Super Bowl run. "Everyone works hard to get to this point. There are no more second chances," said the 45-year-old Brady, who has the Bucs (8-9) in the hunt for a second title in three years despite finishing the regular season with a losing record for the first time in more than two decades as an NFL starter. "It's going to be hard, but we're battle-tested," the seven-time Super Bowl champion added. "We've had some tough games. Some we came back from. Some we haven't. But ... close won't be good enough going forward for anybody." Perhaps no team enters the playoffs under more of a microscope than Dallas (12-5), which lost Prescott for five games after he broke his right thumb during a season-opening loss to Tampa Bay, but remained in contention for the best record in the NFC until last weekend.
01-15-23 | Memphis v. Temple +6 | Top | 61-59 | Win | 100 | 4 h 26 m | Show |
Temple will be counting on another strong performance from the team’s leading scorer Khalif Battle who is averaging 18.06 points per game for the Owls. Battle is also important to the team’s ability to score on the perimeter. So far, he leads the team in 3-point shots made. Also key to the Owls’ offensive game plan is the play of Damian Dunn who has hit 45.2% of his field goal attempts on his way to averaging 14.35 points per game.
01-15-23 | Siena -4.5 v. Canisius | Top | 62-66 | Loss | -110 | 2 h 45 m | Show |
Canisius has not shot well collectively, shooting an awful 40% overall, one of the lowest percentages in the country. Senior guard and leading scorer Jordan Henderson (13.5 PPG) is questionable for today's game, and considering he's missed the past three games with an upper-body injury, there's a good chance he'll sit out again. The Golden Griffins have been bad defensively, letting opponents shoot 47.3% from the field and 38.4% from downtown. They're only 2-4 at home, and will be in trouble today if they can't get consistent stops.
01-14-23 | Mavs v. Blazers -1.5 | Top | 119-136 | Win | 100 | 11 h 41 m | Show |
Luka Doncic just prevailed in a duel with LeBron James and now he has back-to-back shootouts with Damian Lillard on the slate. Two of the most dangerous shooters in the NBA will be firing away this weekend, beginning Saturday night when the Doncic-led Dallas Mavericks visit Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers. Dallas has beaten Portland six straight times by an average of 25 points entering the two-game set. The finale is Sunday, also in Portland. Doncic leads the NBA in scoring at 34.3 points per game and has tallied 40 or more points on nine occasions, including outings of 50, 51 and his career-best 60. Lillard ranks ninth in scoring at 28.2 points and is coming off a 50-point effort in a 119-113 home loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. It was his 13th career 50-point output during the regular season. Yet the Trail Blazers have lost a season-worst five straight games and 10 of their past 13. But somehow, Portland is the small favorite. We're not falling into this trap.

01-14-23 | Chargers v. Jaguars +2.5 | Top | 30-31 | Win | 100 | 9 h 42 m | Show |
Trevor Lawrence feels as if he's been in the playoffs the past two months. Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars were 3-7 and four games behind division-leading Tennessee in late November. It was clear they needed to find ways to start winning close games. Lawrence easily could have panicked or even packed it in. Instead, he and the Jaguars picked it up and won six of seven down the stretch, clinching the AFC South and returning to the playoffs for the first time since 2017. Now, Lawrence will make his official postseason debut when the Jaguars (9-8) host fellow playoff newcomer Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers (10-7) in a wild-card game Saturday night. It could be the first of many postseason trips for two of the NFL's youngest rising stars.
01-14-23 | Jackson State +4.5 v. Prairie View A&M | Top | 50-59 | Loss | -115 | 5 h 24 m | Show |
Offensive production has been hard to come by for Prairie View A&M this season, as they are currently ranked 252nd in college basketball at 69.5 points per game. A major reason for low-scoring totals is the fact that they have played at a below-average pace, and have struggled to knock down outside shots. As a team, the Panthers’ 3-point shooting percentage sits at just 34.7%, placing them 201st in the NCAA.
01-14-23 | Tennessee State v. Tennessee Tech -1.5 | Top | 63-71 | Win | 100 | 4 h 57 m | Show |
Offensive production has been hard to come by for Tennessee State this season, as they are currently ranked 188th in college basketball at 71.3 points per game. A major reason for low scoring totals is the fact that they have played at a below average pace, and have struggled to knock down outside shots. As a team, the Tigers’ 3-point shooting percentage sits at just 35.0%, placing them 186th in the NCAA.
01-14-23 | Tulsa v. Wichita State -10 | Top | 69-73 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 35 m | Show |
There's no other reason other than the Golden Hurricane failing to cover 12 straight games and 13 of their 15 games overall.
01-14-23 | Arkansas v. Vanderbilt +3.5 | Top | 84-97 | Win | 100 | 3 h 56 m | Show |
When they meet for the first time this season Saturday afternoon in Nashville, Tenn., No. 15 Arkansas and Vanderbilt need to turn their young Southeastern Conference campaigns around. For Arkansas (12-4, 1-3 SEC), a team that had high hopes, that need is immediate. After winning 12 of their first 14 games and getting mentioned in a group of early SEC favorites as a possible Final Four contender, the Razorbacks have lost their last two games against ranked opponents. The team's current stumbles can be traced back to a pair of unfortunate occurrences earlier in the season. Freshman sensation Nick Smith Jr. was sidelined early in the campaign with soreness in his right knee. That led to more missed games and an update from soreness to "right knee management." The ailment currently persists for the talented 6-foot-5 guard -- a five-star talent who can create his own shot and run the offense through him.
01-14-23 | Georgia +6 v. Ole Miss | Top | 62-58 | Win | 100 | 2 h 2 m | Show |
Georgia looks for its sixth win in its past seven games when it visits slumping Ole Miss in a Southeastern Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at Oxford, Miss. The Bulldogs (12-4, 2-1) are coming off a 58-50 win over Mississippi State on Wednesday, while the Rebels (8-8, 0-4) dropped their fifth straight game with an 82-73 loss at home to No. 21 Auburn on Tuesday. Georgia, which has already doubled its win total from last season when it went 6-26, scored its final 14 points from the free-throw line to secure its first win in six meetings against Mississippi State.
01-13-23 | Rockets +9.5 v. Kings | Top | 114-139 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 0 m | Show |
Houston Rockets big man Alperen Sengun gets a rare encore performance on the road when he and his mates duel the host Sacramento Kings in a rematch Friday night. While most in attendance were watching Sacramento's Domantas Sabonis pursue a 22nd career triple-double, Sengun snatched a very first of his own with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the Rockets' 135-115 loss in the California capital on Wednesday. Sabonis failed on his bid to triple-up, going for 25 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists, but joined with Sacramento's own surprise contributor -- Trey Lyles -- to rally the Kings from a fourth-quarter deficit to a win not nearly as one-sided as the final score might indicate. Paced by Sengun, the Rockets led by as many as eight and 101-100 with 8:44 to go before Lyles had 12 points in the Kings' 35-14, game-ending flurry. While the defeat went down simply as an eighth straight for the Rockets, it proved historic for Sengun, who at age 20 became the youngest in franchise history to record a triple-double. He also was the first Rockets center to post a triple-double since Hakeem Olajuwon in 1997.
01-13-23 | St. Peter's v. Quinnipiac -10 | Top | 51-58 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 26 m | Show |

01-12-23 | San Francisco -1.5 v. Portland | Top | 87-92 | Loss | -116 | 9 h 57 m | Show |
San Francisco comes into today’s matchup vs Portland, looking to continue their strong offensive play, as they are averaging 77.1 points per game. Through 19 games, they have hit 45.7% of their field goal attempts. In terms of pace, the Dons have preferred to slow the game down, ranking 339th in possessions per game.
01-12-23 | Northern Colorado v. CS Sacramento -3.5 | Top | 64-72 | Win | 100 | 8 h 3 m | Show |
Bears are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning straight-up record, while the Hornets are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games following a ATS win
01-12-23 | North Dakota State v. Denver | Top | 90-70 | Win | 100 | 8 h 54 m | Show |
North Dakota State comes into the game looking to control the pace of play, as they are just 434th in possessions per game. Even with their preference to slow the game down, the Bison’s are scoring at a rate similar to the NCAA average at 74.8 points per game. So far, 37.33% of their shots have come from beyond the arc, where they have connected at a rate of 35.8%.
01-12-23 | Robert Morris v. Oakland -5.5 | Top | 65-69 | Loss | -107 | 7 h 44 m | Show |

01-11-23 | Spurs v. Grizzlies -13.5 | Top | 129-135 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 1 m | Show |
Two days after a 121-113 win over San Antonio, the Memphis Grizzlies host the Spurs again Wednesday night planning to welcome Ja Morant back to the lineup and gunning for their eighth consecutive victory. Despite playing without Morant (right thigh), the Grizzlies had seven players score in double figures Monday. Tyus Jones had a team-high 24 points and dished out six assists in the comeback win. It was his second straight game starting in place of Morant and his second straight 20-plus point outing. Steven Adams added a double-double (13 points, 15 rebounds) in his return from a one-game absence (illness). Jaren Jackson Jr. had 16 points and five blocks, while Dillon Brooks and Desmond Bane added 15 points apiece in the win. Santi Aldama and Ziaire Williams added 13 and 11 points, respectively, off the bench. The Grizzlies led for three quarters until an 11-1 run to open the fourth quarter gave the Spurs a 103-98 lead with less than nine to play. But a key steal by Brooks late in the fourth quarter, which led to Bane making a 3-pointer, helped Memphis to a 116-109 lead with 4:29 to play in the game. The Grizzlies never trailed the rest of the way.
01-11-23 | High Point v. Charleston Southern +2 | Top | 69-106 | Win | 100 | 6 h 26 m | Show |
Offensive production has been hard to come by for High Point this season, as they are currently ranked 251st in college basketball at 69.5 points per game. A major reason for low-scoring totals is the fact that they have played at a below-average pace, and have struggled to knock down outside shots. As a team, the Panthers’ 3-point shooting percentage sits at just 33.5%, placing them 283rd in the NCAA.
01-11-23 | Monmouth v. Hofstra -18.5 | Top | 57-77 | Win | 100 | 6 h 6 m | Show |
The Monmouth Hawks had a terrible game offensively last time out as they were only able to score 35 points on 13-of-48 (27.1 percent) from the floor and 2-of-12 (16.7 percent) from beyond the arc. I'm not backing that stat line with my money tonight.
01-10-23 | Michigan State v. Wisconsin | Top | 69-65 | Win | 100 | 6 h 10 m | Show |
No. 18 Wisconsin will try to bounce back from its first conference loss when it hosts Michigan State in a Big Ten matchup Tuesday night in Madison, Wis., but much rides on the status of Badgers forward Tyler Wahl. Wisconsin (11-3, 3-1 Big Ten) lost 79-69 at Illinois on Saturday without Wahl, the team's leading scorer (13.2 ppg) and second-leading rebounder (6.4), who injured his right ankle in the previous game. The Badgers are a different team without the preseason all-Big Ten pick. Michigan State (11-4, 3-1) won at home, 59-53, over arch-rival Michigan on Saturday, the Spartans' sixth consecutive victory. Wisconsin went into Illinois allowing just 61.2 points per contest but allowed the Illini to shoot 10 of 19 from 3-point range
01-04-23 | Connecticut v. Providence +5 | Top | 61-73 | Win | 100 | 11 h 48 m | Show |
Two of the elite teams in the Big East Conference meet Wednesday when fourth-ranked UConn goes on the road to play Providence. The Friars (12-3, 4-0 Big East) opened Big East play with four consecutive wins for the first time in the program's history by prevailing 74-59 over DePaul on Sunday in Chicago. Providence and Xavier (12-3, 4-0) are tied for first place and are the only unbeaten teams in the conference. Providence sophomore Devin Carter, a transfer from South Carolina, tied his career high by scoring 22 points against the Blue Demons. He also had five steals and four blocked shots. The Friars received 18 points from Jared Bynum, and 12 points and eight rebounds from Bryce Hopkins. Hopkins owns team-best averages of 15.7 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
01-01-23 | Vikings +3.5 v. Packers | Top | 17-41 | Loss | -110 | 55 h 32 m | Show |
The Packers can be eliminated from the playoff picture if they lose Sunday and either the Commanders win at home against the Cleveland Browns (6-9) or the Detroit Lions (7-8) win at home against the Chicago Bears (3-12). The Browns-Commanders game and Bears-Lions matchup should be finishing up right around the time the Packers and Vikings have their opening kickoff. Minnesota (12-3) is seeking its first regular-season sweep of the Packers (7-8) since 2017. The Vikings went 1-0-1 against Green Bay in 2018.
01-01-23 | Tulsa +8.5 v. SMU | Top | 67-92 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 50 m | Show |
Most will run away from Tulsa after failing to cover 9 straight games, but the number has risen to a level that I'm not willing to lay. The Mustangs aren't exactly cashing tickets consistently with a 5-8 ATS record. The road team in this series has covered 20 of their last 28 meetings.
01-01-23 | Panthers v. Bucs -3 | Top | 24-30 | Win | 100 | 51 h 20 m | Show |
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers don't have to sort through a bunch of potential tiebreaker scenarios to know what they need to do to win the NFC South and host a first-round playoff game. Beat the Panthers on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium, and Tom Brady and the first-place Bucs (7-8) will repeat as division champions and earn a postseason berth for the third straight year regardless of what happens in the final week of the regular season. Carolina (6-9), which has won four of its past six games to play its way back into contention after firing its coach and trading its best player, can claim its first NFC South title by closing with victories over Tampa Bay and New Orleans. "We know what this game entails," Panthers interim coach Steve Wilks said. "There is no reason to talk about it."
12-31-22 | Loyola Marymount v. Pacific +4.5 | Top | 72-78 | Win | 100 | 6 h 21 m | Show |
Offensive production has been hard to come by for Loyola Marymount this season, as they are currently ranked 257th in college basketball at 69.3 points per game. A major reason for low-scoring totals is the fact that they have played at a below-average pace, and have struggled to knock down outside shots. As a team, the Lions’ 3-point shooting percentage sits at just 34.4%, placing them 218th in the NCAA.
12-31-22 | San Jose State v. Colorado State -8 | Top | 78-70 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 42 m | Show |
Four Rams players are averaging double-digit points on the year. Isaiah Stevens had made up for lost time after missing the early part of the season. He debuted on November 30th and in the seven games, he has played the senior guard has averaged 17.1 points on 50% shooting from the field. He has scored in double digits in all games played and has logged three games of 20 or more points. He also averages six assists and two rebounds per game.
12-31-22 | New Mexico v. Wyoming +3.5 | Top | 76-75 | Win | 100 | 6 h 34 m | Show |
Wyoming (5-8, 0-1) rallied from 18 points down at Fresno State on Wednesday before falling 58-53. The Cowboys held Fresno State to 1-of-23 shooting from the field in one stretch of the second half to rally back. "Hopefully, this is a game we can build off of by the way we played defensively in the second half," Wyoming coach Jeff Linder said. "You can't spot a team an 18-point lead. But that's when we had the sense of urgency to guard." Noah Reynolds gave the Cowboys their first lead of the second half, 51-49, on a layup with 3:11 left. He made another layup with 1:36 remaining that put Wyoming ahead, 53-51, but that ended the scoring for the Cowboys. Jemarl Baker hit a go-ahead 3-pointer off an offensive rebound with 1:01 left and the Bulldogs tacked on four free throws to cement the win. Reynolds leads the Cowboys with 14.8 points per game on 53.5 percent shooting from the field.
12-30-22 | North Carolina -5.5 v. Pittsburgh | Top | 74-76 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 21 m | Show |
There have been signs that No. 25 North Carolina is getting into a groove, and now after a more than a week layoff, the Tar Heels have another chance to show their improvement. North Carolina will begin the sizable portion of its Atlantic Coast Conference schedule by visiting Pittsburgh on Friday afternoon. "I feel like we're in a great situation and our group is definitely battle-tested," Tar Heels guard Caleb Love said. "It's good for us when our back is against the wall and how we fight back. Anything thrown at us, we're going to overcome it." North Carolina (9-4, 1-1 ACC) has won four games in a row. Pittsburgh (9-4, 2-0) will be playing its ACC home opener. The Tar Heels have displayed a more intense nature in recent games.
12-29-22 | Colorado +2.5 v. Stanford | Top | 73-70 | Win | 100 | 13 h 22 m | Show |
Colorado and Stanford hope to display new-and-improved editions when they meet Thursday night in Palo Alto, Calif., in a renewal of the Pac-12 men's basketball schedule. Neither team recorded a win in conference play in two opportunities each earlier this month, with the Buffaloes (8-5, 0-2) falling at home to Arizona State and at Washington, while the Cardinal (5-7, 0-2) were beaten at home by UCLA and at Arizona State. Colorado has made the most of four home dates since its 73-63 loss at Washington on Dec. 4, beating Colorado State, North Alabama, Northern Colorado, and Southern Utah by a total of 71 points. The Buffaloes not only used the time away from Pac-12 play to improve emotionally but also physically, with forwards Luke O'Brien and Lawson Lovering now ready to return to action.
12-29-22 | Tulane +4.5 v. Cincinnati | Top | 77-88 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 36 m | Show |
Tulane will be counting on another strong performance from the team’s leading scorer Jaylen Forbes who is averaging 16.82 points per game for the Green Wave. Forbes is also important to the team’s ability to score on the perimeter. So far, he leads the team in 3-point shots made. Also key to the Green Wave’s offensive game plan is the play of Kevin Cross who has hit 51.3% of his field goal attempts on his way to averaging 14.18 points per game. On offense, Tulane comes into the game looking to control the pace of play, as they are just 392nd in possessions per game. Even with their preference to slow the game down, the Green Wave’s scoring at a rate similar to the NCAA average of 73.1 points per game. So far, 38.63% of their shots have come from beyond the arc, where they have connected at a rate of 36.4%.
12-29-22 | Cowboys v. Titans +13 | Top | 27-13 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 48 m | Show |
The Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans are desperately chasing division titles as the regular season winds to a close. Their approach Thursday night will be very different. Dallas (11-4) still has some hope of a second straight NFC East title with the Cowboys needing to win their final two games with Philadelphia losing at least once. Surviving Thursday night as healthy as possible is Tennessee's top priority. The only way the Titans (7-8) can win a third consecutive AFC South title is by beating the Jaguars in Jacksonville in Week 18. So if coach Mike Vrabel wants to rest as many of his Titans as possible, that's just fine with the Cowboys. "If they want to roll us the ball a couple of times and let us go from there, I'm all for that," Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott said. "We'll take it however they want to do it." Dallas has won five of six, including a 10-point comeback last week for a 40-34 win to keep Philadelphia from clinching home-field advantage throughout the postseason in the NFC. Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott couldn't agree more, even with a postseason berth already secure.
12-29-22 | St. Thomas v. South Dakota +1.5 | Top | 84-92 | Win | 100 | 11 h 55 m | Show |
On offense, South Dakota comes into the game looking to control the pace of play, as they are just 503rd in possessions per game. Even with their preference to slow the game down, the Coyotes’ are scoring at a rate similar to the NCAA average at 75.1 points per game. So far, 33.22% of their shots have come from beyond the arc, where they have connected at a rate of 37.4%.
12-29-22 | Providence v. Butler -1.5 | Top | 72-52 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 47 m | Show |
It's likely going to take a lot more than a Christmas break to slow down Providence. The Friars have rattled off five straight wins and will find out if their momentum stuck around through the holiday hiatus when they travel to Indianapolis for a meeting with Butler on Thursday night. Providence (10-3, 2-0 Big East) made sure to keep itself off the naughty list, heading into Christmas on the heels of a thrilling 103-98 double-overtime victory against then-No. 24 Marquette on Dec. 20. Bryce Hopkins led the Friars with 29 points and 23 rebounds, both career highs. Devin Carter and Ed Croswell added 20 points apiece and Jared Bynum supplied 16 points and eight rebounds. Although the team will be back in action, classes still will be on hold for nearly three more weeks, meaning basketball becomes the sole focus -- something that the team is relishing. Despite all that, the number suggests a Bulldogs upset.
12-29-22 | Minnesota v. Syracuse +10 | Top | 28-20 | Win | 100 | 88 h 8 m | Show |
Minnesota and Syracuse feature standout running backs in Mohamed Ibrahim and Sean Tucker but only one star will actually play in Yankee Stadium. Ibrahim will attempt to complete his remarkable comeback from a ruptured Achilles on Thursday when his Golden Gophers make their first appearance in the Pinstripe Bowl against the Orange, who hope another running back can compensate for Tucker's absence. Last season, Ibrahim was injured in the opening game against Ohio State after rushing for 1,076 yards in seven games during the 2020 season. This year, he was the nation's fourth-leading rusher with 1,594 yards and a finalist for the Doak Walker Award. His 19 rushing touchdowns were tied for second in the nation.
12-28-22 | Air Force v. San Diego State -16 | Top | 55-71 | Push | 0 | 13 h 58 m | Show |
The Falcons have covered seven straight games while the Aztecs are coming off a less-than-impressive performance against UCSD. The bookmakers are laying another trap, begging you to take the Falcons, we're not falling for that as the Aztecs crush Air Force to give us one last win on the night.
12-28-22 | Arkansas v. LSU +4.5 | Top | 57-60 | Win | 100 | 11 h 12 m | Show |
A pair of one-loss Southeastern Conference foes open the league season with a showdown on Wednesday night when No. 9 Arkansas battles LSU at Baton Rouge, La. The Razorbacks (11-1) have won seven straight games and are playing their first true road game of the season. LSU (11-1) owns a six-game winning streak and is 8-0 at home. Arkansas was predicted to bring a lofty record into SEC play after reaching the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament in each of the past two seasons. LSU's early season success wasn't a guarantee with former Murray State coach Matt McMahon taking over after the end of the controversial Will Wade tenure. But McMahon's rebuilding process received a boost when two of his key Murray State players elected to follow him -- big man KJ Williams and guard Justice Hill.
12-28-22 | Wolves +6.5 v. Pelicans | Top | 118-119 | Win | 100 | 10 h 48 m | Show |
The New Orleans Pelicans just played one of their better games of the season while short-handed. They expect to be stronger when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night. On Monday night, the Pelicans defeated the visiting Indiana Pacers 113-93 despite the absence of their top two scorers: Zion Williamson (illness) and Brandon Ingram (toe). In addition, another starter, Herbert Jones Jr., was sidelined due to health and safety protocol. Two more key rotation players, Trey Murphy III and Dyson Daniels, also were out, both because of non-COVID illnesses. Williamson, who has missed the past three games, said after practice Tuesday that he would play against the Wolves, and coach Willie Green said Murphy and Daniels are probable. Ingram will miss the Wednesday contest, and Jones was listed as questionable. New Orleans gave at least 17 minutes to all nine players that were available Monday and all but one scored.
12-28-22 | Kentucky -3 v. Missouri | Top | 75-89 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 21 m | Show |
Kentucky coach John Calipari is bringing a lengthy to-do list as the No. 19 Wildcats begin Southeastern Conference play at Missouri on Wednesday night. The Wildcats (8-3) have lost to Michigan State, Gonzaga, and UCLA. They most recently defeated Florida A&M 88-68 last Wednesday, but they led by just seven points with 5:35 left and Calipari was vexed by his team's defense. "We've got work to do now. We do," Calipari said after the game. "We didn't defend today like we've been defending. It's crazy. I mean, the one thing that we could rely on is that we would really, really guard. Well, they beat us on the bounce, they beat us shooting threes, they beat us offensive rebounding." Now Kentucky must travel to Columbia, Mo., to face the tough Tigers (11-1, 0-0 SEC) as Missouri comes off a 93-71 neutral-court upset of then-No. 16 Illinois on Thursday.
12-28-22 | Central Florida +3.5 v. Duke | Top | 13-30 | Loss | -115 | 64 h 23 m | Show |
Duke is bowl-eligible for the first time since 2018. To cap off Mike Elko's first season at the helm, the Blue Devils draw UCF in Annapolis, Md. at the Military Bowl on Wednesday. Should Duke (8-4) beat the Knights (9-4), it will give the Blue Devils just their seventh season of nine or more wins in program history. Duke has only had two seasons with that many wins since it joined the ACC in 1953. Both of those campaigns came under the previous coach, David Cutcliffe. But Cutcliffe's Duke teams floundered near the end of his tenure, and the Blue Devils went a combined 10-25 from 2019 to 2021. Elko quickly got the program back on the right track in his first season. Duke had a winning record in ACC play (5-3) for the first time since 2014. Elko was named ACC Coach of the Year and is a semifinalist for the George Munger Coach of the Year award.
12-27-22 | Lakers +3.5 v. Magic | Top | 129-110 | Win | 100 | 10 h 38 m | Show |
Two teams trending in opposite directions will meet when the Orlando Magic host the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night. While Orlando has won eight of its last nine, Los Angeles has lost four in a row. The Lakers began a five-game trip with a 124-115 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. After taking a nine-point lead into halftime, Los Angeles was outscored 51-21 during a disastrous third quarter. "We have to know that it's a 48-minute game; it's not a 24-minute game," Los Angeles coach Darvin Ham said. "We kind of took our foot off the pedal defensively. To give up a 51-point third quarter is just unacceptable. It's completely unacceptable. That's not who we are. That's not who we're going to be." Lakers star LeBron James scored 38 points in the loss. His seven-game streak of at least 30 points is the longest active streak in the league. Los Angeles is being forced to rely on James minus center Anthony Davis, who is out indefinitely with a stress injury in his right foot. The line is telling us that the Lakers are to break the Orlando cover streak here.
12-27-22 | Jacksonville v. Notre Dame -7.5 | Top | 43-59 | Win | 100 | 9 h 16 m | Show |
Notre Dame will look to snap a three-game losing streak on Tuesday night when it hosts Jacksonville in its final nonconference game of the season at South Bend, Ind. Notre Dame (7-5) won its lone previous matchup against Jacksonville (7-3) in 2018. The Fighting Irish, who have dropped four of their past five overall, including falling into an 0-2 hole to start Atlantic Coast Conference play, need a win before jumping back into conference action with a difficult test on Friday against No. 14 Miami, which currently sits atop the ACC. Notre Dame appeared ready to correct its course last week before blowing an 11-point lead and losing 73-72 to Florida State on Wednesday. One of the Fighting Irish's strengths this season has been their 3-point shooting, averaging 8.9 made triples per game thanks in large part to Dane Goodwin (46.2 percent from deep), Cormac Ryan (45.6 percent) and Nate Laszewski (42.9 percent).
12-27-22 | Georgia Southern v. Buffalo +4 | Top | 21-23 | Win | 100 | 39 h 36 m | Show |
Kyle Vantrease was the starting quarterback at Buffalo last season. This year, Vantrease starts at Georgia Southern against his former team in the Camellia Bowl on Tuesday in Montgomery, Ala. Georgia Southern (6-6) will be participating in a bowl game for the fifth time; the Eagles are 3-1 and won the 2018 Camellia Bowl. Buffalo (6-6) is in its sixth bowl game; the Bulls are 2-3 and won the 2020 Camellia Bowl. This will be the first meeting between the two teams. Georgia Southern, in its first season under coach Clay Helton, became bowl-eligible by beating Appalachian State 51-48 in double overtime in the final game of the season. Buffalo became eligible for the postseason by with a last-minute 23-22 win over Akron in their season finale.
12-26-22 | Hornets v. Blazers -6 | Top | 113-124 | Win | 100 | 25 h 23 m | Show |
The Charlotte Hornets experience nothing but trouble in Portland and they aim to end a 14-game skid in the Rose City when they visit the Trail Blazers on Monday night. Charlotte last won in Portland on March 29, 2008 when the team was known as the Bobcats and Emeka Okafor was the squad's high scorer with 21 points. Trail Blazers icon Damian Lillard was a high school senior. The Hornets will take another shot at ending the skid during the fifth contest of a six-game road trip that ends Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors. Charlotte is 2-2 on the excursion after outlasting Los Angeles Lakers 134-130 on Friday. The Hornets have won two of their last three games after losing their previous eight contests. Gordon Hayward scored the tiebreaking points with 6.3 seconds left and P.J. Washington added two free throws to seal it.
12-24-22 | Middle Tennessee State +7 v. San Diego State | Top | 25-23 | Win | 100 | 10 h 0 m | Show |
Last year, it was the Bahamas. This year, it's Hawaii. No Group of 5 programs has fared better at scoring tropical bowl destinations the last two seasons than Middle Tennessee. The Blue Raiders will try to turn their nine-hour plane trip to Honolulu into a win in the Hawaii Bowl against San Diego State on Saturday. "Two melatonins before I get on the plane to get as much sleep as I can," said safety Teldrick Ross of the trip across four time zones and an ocean. "That way, if I can cut the plane ride down to only like four or five and a half hours, I'll take it." Middle Tennessee (7-5) has become a bowl regular under veteran coach Rick Stockstill. The former Florida State quarterback has taken the team to 10 bowls in his 17 seasons on the job, and his 108 wins in Murfreesboro are the third most in program history. The Blue Raiders' 2022 highlight was a 45-31 win at Miami on Sept. 24, sending the Hurricanes out of the rankings for good. Middle Tennessee quarterback Chase Cunningham threw for 408 yards that day, and he has thrown for 2,920 yards in 11 games with 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions. The team's defensive leader is safety Tra Fluellen, who has 97 tackles and seven pass breakups.
12-23-22 | George Washington +3.5 v. Pepperdine | Top | 70-81 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 19 m | Show |
The George Washington Colonials were just three seconds away from an opening-round upset win over the Washington State Cougars on Thursday night. Unfortunately, a three-point field goal from the Cougars turned a 64-63 lead into a 66-64 loss. The game was back and forth throughout with Washington State holding a two-point lead at halftime before the two teams battled back and forth in the second half. George Washington had five players in double figures for the game, led by Brendan Adams 17 points. The Colonials shot 49% from the field
12-21-22 | South Alabama -3 v. Western Kentucky | Top | 23-44 | Loss | -120 | 9 h 5 m | Show |
South Alabama will hope to put a bow on its most successful FBS season by winning a bowl game for the first time in program history. At the end of a 10-2 season, South Alabama was selected to play in the New Orleans Bowl against Western Kentucky on Wednesday inside the Superdome. The Jaguars had never finished a season over .500 since joining FBS in 2012. Their only two losses this year came by one point on the road against UCLA in September and by four points to rival Troy in October. Troy and South Alabama ended up tied atop the Sun Belt West, so Troy advanced to the Sun Belt title game and won the conference championship. A trip to New Orleans is not a bad consolation prize for the Jaguars, who are 0-2 in bowl games. Second-year coach Kane Wommack, who received a contract extension earlier this month, said the bowl trip is both a reward and a way to carry momentum into spring practices.
12-21-22 | Michigan +5.5 v. North Carolina | Top | 76-80 | Win | 100 | 8 h 33 m | Show |
Michigan and North Carolina are experienced enough to understand winter missteps are easier to forget with a little success in March. While neither college basketball powerhouse is ready to shed serious aspirations of playing into April 2023, this season is not going according to plan for either program just yet. But expectations could come into focus Wednesday night when the Wolverines and Tar Heels meet at Charlotte, N.C. The neutral-site game comes in the inaugural Jumpman Invitational. The winner of the game takes home a boost in the way of a non-conference victory. "When we get it clicking, just like last year, it's going to be scary," North Carolina guard Leaky Black. "When the games really matter, we'll show up." North Carolina (8-4) has won three in a row since a four-game losing streak knocked it out of the national rankings.
12-19-22 | Rams +7.5 v. Packers | Top | 12-24 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 49 m | Show |
This can't be what the NFL's schedule-makers and ESPN executives had in mind. When the league's slate of prime-time games came out in the spring, a mid-December matchup between the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams and the three-time defending NFC North champion Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field sounded like TV rating gold. Surely visions of gorgeous wide-angle shots of the falling snow and big-time playoff implications were dancing in their heads. But instead of a playoff preview, the "Monday Night Football" audience will get two of the NFL's most disappointing teams when the Rams (4-9) visit the Packers (5-8). Although both teams are still mathematically in playoff contention, the Rams have assured a sub-.500 record and the Packers could win out and still miss the postseason for the first time under coach Matt LaFleur.
12-19-22 | Manhattan +4.5 v. Marist | Top | 80-69 | Win | 100 | 3 h 18 m | Show |
Offensive production has been hard to come by for Marist this season, as they are currently ranked 277th in college basketball at 68.8 points per game. A major reason for low-scoring totals is the fact that they have played at a below-average pace, and have struggled to knock down outside shots. As a team, the Red Foxes’ 3-point shooting percentage sits at just 34.4%, placing them 219th in the NCAA.
12-19-22 | Hofstra +2 v. South Florida | Top | 70-77 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 15 m | Show |

12-18-22 | Buffalo v. West Virginia -18.5 | Top | 78-96 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 32 m | Show |
West Virginia will look to extend its winning streak to three games when it plays host to Buffalo on Sunday at Morgantown, W.Va. Neither team has played since Dec. 10. The Mountaineers (8-2) last earned an 81-70 win over visiting UAB, while the Bulls (5-5) saw a four-game winning streak end with an 88-63 loss to Tulane in the Holiday Hoopsgiving event at Atlanta. The Mountaineers led the Blazers 40-31 at halftime, but the game was tied at 47-all with 13:50 remaining. West Virginia responded by going on a 6-2 run to take a 55-49 lead it wouldn't relinquish following Erik Stevenson's layup with 11:24 left. The Mountaineers forced 19 turnovers.
12-18-22 | Lions v. Jets -1 | Top | 20-17 | Loss | -116 | 2 h 57 m | Show |
Robert Saleh is always quick to remind people he's an eternal optimist, thinking the best-case scenario in every situation. That's why it wasn't necessarily so stunning to hear the New York Jets coach declare after his team's loss to the Buffalo Bills last Sunday that the squads would meet again - in the playoffs. Saleh is also a realist. He knows in order for the Jets to snap their 11-year postseason drought, which is the NFL's longest active skid, they've got plenty more winning to do. And it needs to start Sunday at MetLife Stadium against a roaring Detroit Lions squad that has won five of its past six. "We're going to get everyone's absolute best shot because they're fighting for their lives, too," Saleh said. "And that's why we strive for December football. This is the fun stuff." After the game Sunday comes a Thursday night home game against Jacksonville (5-8) before road games at Seattle (7-6) and Miami (8-5).
12-17-22 | Boise State v. North Texas +12.5 | Top | 35-32 | Win | 100 | 11 h 41 m | Show |
Some might see the Frisco Bowl as a comedown for Boise State, considering it lost out on a Mountain West Conference title and a chance to play a Power 5 program in a bowl game. However, Broncos coach Andy Avalos says the team's appearance in Saturday night's Frisco Bowl in Frisco, Texas, against North Texas isn't the letdown many believe it is. "It's a big deal. For us, we're grateful to be in this bowl game," he said Monday. Whether it's because it's the Broncos' first bowl game since 2019 because of COVID-19 or because the Dallas Cowboys are allowing the team to practice at their facility, Boise State sounds like a team ready to play in a pre-Christmas bowl game. The Broncos (9-4) could have played Washington State in the LA Jimmy Kimmel Bowl, but instead fell 28-16 to Fresno State in the MWC championship game. That knocked them down the league's pecking order for bowl bids. Instead of playing in SoFi Stadium, the home of two NFL teams that are already hosted a Super Bowl, Boise State instead plays in a soccer-specific stadium outside of Dallas. But Avalos said early practices have been intense.
12-17-22 | BYU +4.5 v. SMU | Top | 24-23 | Win | 100 | 9 h 41 m | Show |
When the football is kicked off in Saturday's New Mexico Bowl between SMU and BYU, the fans in attendance can expect plenty of fireworks -- in the form of points on the scoreboard. The high-powered offenses of SMU Mustangs coach Rhett Lashlee and BYU Cougars coach Kalani Sitake will take the field against a pair of struggling defensive units in a matchup that Vegas oddsmakers expect to feature tons of points. While BYU is a 1.5-point favorite, the most intriguing number is the over-under -- set at a lofty 74 points. Averaging 38.4 points in a 7-5 season, SMU was a part of history on Nov. 5 when it beat Houston 77-63 in the highest-scoring regulation contest in FBS history. Quarterback Tanner Mordecai threw for a program and American Athletic Conference record nine touchdowns and rushed for another. Meanwhile, BYU's defense has been costly for the Cougars during their 7-5 campaign. In a stretch of mediocre play, the unit likely cost them in losses to Arkansas, East Carolina, Liberty, and Notre Dame. Sitake's defense ranked 93rd in the nation, allowing 409.7 yards per game, but new defensive coordinator/associate head coach Jay Hill vows to improve that.
12-17-22 | Colts +4 v. Vikings | Top | 36-39 | Win | 100 | 1 h 28 m | Show |
There's a connectivity and resiliency these Minnesota Vikings have crafted and harvested, helping put them on the brink of a division title despite being cumulatively outscored by their opponents. Time for another test of that character. After allowing 400-plus yards for a franchise-record fifth straight game in a defeat last week at Detroit, the Vikings (10-3) will take another crack at clinching when they host Indianapolis (4-8-1) on Saturday. The NFC North crown will be theirs with a win or a loss by the Lions. Though the Vikings were far more competitive than in earlier setbacks against Philadelphia and Dallas, the loss in Detroit furthers external doubts about whether their defense is strong enough for a deep run through the playoffs.
12-15-22 | 49ers v. Seahawks +4 | Top | 21-13 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 2 m | Show |
A few years ago, Kyle Shanahan celebrated his first division title as San Francisco's coach in the visiting locker room at Seattle after a Sunday night game on the final day of the season that was nearly decided on the final snap. Shanahan and the 49ers can repeat what they accomplished in 2019 and wrap up another NFC West title on Thursday night in Seattle against the Seahawks, but with far less stress this time. San Francisco (9-4) is the hottest team in the NFL, having won six straight, the longest active streak in the league. The 49ers have won each of their past four games by double digits, including last week's 35-7 thumping of Tampa Bay. Since their last loss at Kansas City in Week 7, the 49ers have not allowed an opponent to score more than 16 points, and a win on Thursday would be the earliest in the season they have clinched a division title since 2011.
12-12-22 | Sacred Heart -1.5 v. Stony Brook | Top | 64-71 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 37 m | Show |
Pioneers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing straight-up record, while the Seawolves have failed to cover four straight games after a SU loss.
12-08-22 | Colorado State v. Colorado -4 | Top | 65-93 | Win | 100 | 2 h 1 m | Show |
Colorado will be counting on another strong performance from the team’s leading scorer KJ Simpson who is averaging 16.22 points per game for the Buffaloes. Simpson is also important to the team’s ability to score on the perimeter. So far, he leads the team in 3-point shots made. Also key to the Buffaloes’ offensive game plan is the play of Tristan Da Silva who has hit 48.3% of his field goal attempts on his way to averaging 12.0 points per game. Coming into today’s game, Colorado will be looking for some improved play from their offense. Currently, the Buffaloes are ranked 193rd at 71.2 points per game. A major reason for their low-scoring numbers is the fact that they tend to work the clock on offense.
12-05-22 | North Dakota State +15.5 v. Portland | Top | 67-62 | Win | 100 | 10 h 21 m | Show |
The North Dakota State Bison have been struggling and lost on the road 78-70 against the Eastern Washington Eagles. They did well as they scored 35 points in both halves of the game. They shot the ball well as they were 27-of-59 (45.8 percent) overall, 12-of-30 (40 percent) from the three, and just seven free-throw attempts.
12-02-22 | Texas-Arlington +19 v. LSU | Top | 59-63 | Win | 100 | 10 h 27 m | Show |
LSU hasn't really played anyone tough this year, but they are 6-1 on the season, so they are winning games they should be winning, for the most part. They somehow are ranked No. 54 by KenPom, which I think is way inflated, considering they have played the 328th easiest non-conference schedule in the country. There are only 360 D1 schools. so LSU has played a really easy schedule. Their one loss was a 61-59 loss at Kansas State as a 2.5-point underdog.
12-02-22 | Kennesaw State +4.5 v. Mercer | Top | 66-63 | Win | 100 | 9 h 19 m | Show |
The Owls are led by fourth-year head coach Amir Abdur-Rahim. KSU was picked to finish eighth in the ASUN Conference coaches poll and sixth in the media poll. Kennesaw State is currently 4-3 with wins over LaGrange, Brewton-Parker, Southeastern Louisiana, and Appalachian State. The losses came against Florida, Campbell, and VCU. In the most recent game against VCU, the Owls led for 38 minutes before being outscored by the Rams 14-4 in the final five minutes.KSU returned all five of last year's starters, including Chris Youngblood who was named to the 2022-23 Preseason ASUN All-Conference Team. The Owls also brought in transfer guard Quincy Ademokoya from Temple who has been appearing off the bench so far this season.
12-01-22 | Bills v. Patriots +4 | Top | 24-10 | Loss | -110 | 2 h 31 m | Show |
The most recent time the Bills faced the Patriots, they left little doubt about their status as the pacesetter in the AFC East. Buffalo walked off the field with a 47-17 win in the wild-card round of the playoffs this past January, demoralizing a New England team that was celebrating being back in the postseason after a one-year absence. The Bills (8-3) will look to add to their recent run of success in a rivalry once dominated by the Patriots (6-5) during their latest trip to New England. Buffalo enters Thursday night's matchup the winners of three of the past four regular-season meetings and is in second place in the AFC's only division in which all four teams are above .500. But it has yet to notch a division win with close losses to Miami and the New York Jets. Both setbacks were on the road, a fact not lost on quarterback Josh Allen.
11-29-22 | Clippers +4 v. Blazers | Top | 118-112 | Win | 100 | 7 h 58 m | Show |
With Kawhi Leonard and Paul George both ailing, Ivica Zubac took a whirl at being a star attraction and it was one for the memory books. The 25-year-old Zubac will try to follow up the best performance of his career when the Los Angeles Clippers visit the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night. Zubac played like a man possessed Sunday during a 114-100 home victory over the Indiana Pacers as he scored 31 points and collected a career-best 29 rebounds. The 7-foot Zubac was one board short of having the third 30-point, 30-rebound outing in the NBA in 40 years. Michael Cage was the last Clippers player to grab 30 rebounds in a game, doing so on April 24, 1988, against the Seattle SuperSonics. The only downer for Zubac was fouling out with 3:40 remaining. "I was mad at myself because I wanted to get that 30 and 30 so bad. It hurts," Zubac said afterward. "It's definitely not as happy as I should be. "I was just mad at myself for going for (the blocked shot), but I just can't help myself. Every time I see someone trying to get away, I try to block it." While legendary Wilt Chamberlain used to routinely post 30-30 games during his career, Zubac fell just short of joining Dwight Howard (2018) and Kevin Love (2010) as the only players to do it since Moses Malone in 1982.
11-29-22 | Knicks v. Pistons +5 | Top | 140-110 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 1 m | Show |
The New York Knicks have reached the 20-game mark and they're not close to living up to their expectations. New York has wallowed in mediocrity, unable to put together a solid stretch of performances. The Knicks have lost four of their last five, dropping to 9-11 as they make a quick visit to Detroit to face the Pistons on Tuesday. "Lot of work to do," Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said. "Just keep concentrating on getting better, improving, and get ready for the next one. Don't look backward, don't look ahead, just look at exactly what's in front of us. That's where I want us to be." The last two losses, both at home, have been particularly excruciating. They lost to Portland 132-129 in overtime, then fell to Memphis 127-123. Jalen Brunson, the pricey free agent signed to get New York back into the postseason, missed two shots in the lane during the closing seconds against Memphis. Those misses came after Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant gave his team the lead with a putback. |
