05-10-22 | 76ers v. Heat -160 | 85-120 | Win | 100 | 42 h 30 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Miami. The Heat are reeling after losing back to back games in Philly, but some home cooking might be just what the doctor ordered. The 76ers are 1-6-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in Miami, and they are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 road games. The Heat are 7-1 ATS in their last eight home games, and they are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games as a favorite. Jimmy Buckets scored 40 in Game 4, and I expect him to take over this series here in Miami. GL, Jesse Schule
05-10-22 | Bruins +1.5 v. Hurricanes | 1-5 | Loss | -210 | 16 h 45 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Bruins (1P) Game 1 of this series looks like a blowout when you see the final score, but that doesn't accurately describe what happened. The Bruins looked like the better team in the first period, and the Canes were a little fortunate to take a 2-0 lead into the third period. Boston scored early in the third and it looked like it was game on, but then the Canes piled on with a string of late goals. Boston dominated shots on goal, with a 36-24 edge. They need to make life more difficult for Annti Ranta, with traffic in front of the net and constant pressure. This is a veteran team that is sure to push back. Expect Brad Marchand to be on top form tonight. GL, Jesse Schule
05-10-22 | Brewers v. Reds OVER 8 | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 17 h 17 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Over. After winning just three of their first 25 games, the Reds come into Milwaukee as winners of three of their last four. These teams played last week in Milwaukee and all three games went over the total. With the lineups seeing the same starter for the second time in less than a week, another slugfest should be expected in Game 1. Hunter Green was lit up for eight runs on nine hits in just 2.2 innings in Milwaukee last week, while Freddy Peralta gave up three runs on five hits and two walks in the same game. The over is 11-1 in the Reds last 12 overall, and they've gone over the number in six straight home games. GL, Jesse Schule
05-09-22 | Flames v. Stars +1.5 | 4-1 | Loss | -195 | 21 h 33 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Dallas. The Flames came into this series heavily favored, but Dallas has a chance to take a commanding 3-1 series lead with a win on home ice in Game 4. The Flames have scored just three goals in the first three games, and Jake Ottinger stopped 39-of-41 shots in Game 3. The Flames are 1-5 in their last six Conference Quarterfinals games. The Stars are 27-11 in their last 38 home games, and they are 5-1 in their last six Conference Quarterfinals games. GL, Jesse Schule
05-09-22 | Celtics +1.5 v. Bucks | 116-108 | Win | 100 | 19 h 34 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Celtics. The Bucks held on to win Game 3 as the Celtics game tying shot came just after the time expired. There was a lot of talk about controversial calls, and neither team was happy about the officiating. The fact that Jason Tatum scored 10 points on 4-of-19 shooting and the game nearly went to overtime might actually be a good sign heading into Game 4. Surely Tatum will be better here on Monday. The Celtics are 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 road games, and they are 7-2 ATS in their last nine coming off a loss. The Celtics are 8-1-1 ATS in the last 10 head to head meetings. GL, Jesse Schule
05-09-22 | Rangers -103 v. Penguins | 2-7 | Loss | -103 | 18 h 4 m | Show
This is an 8* play on NYR. I had the Rangers in Game 1, and here is what I said prior to the game: "The Pittsburgh Penguins still have star power with Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, but they lost their starting goaltender at the end of the regular season. History tells us that goaltending is the most important ingredient to a successful run in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Backup goalie Casey DeSmith will be filling in for Tristan Jarry. He faced the Rangers once in the regular season conceding four goals in an overtime loss. The Rangers are in good shape with Igor Shesterkin who lead the NHL in GAA as well as save percentage. The home team is just a small favorite and they have the best goalie in the world at the moment. The Rangers look like a bargain at this price." Casey DeSmith left Game 1 with a lower body injury, and Louis Domingue stepped in. The Penguins 3rd string netminder has given up nine goals in his last two starts. GL, Jesse Schule
05-09-22 | Panthers v. Capitals +1.5 | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 42 m | Show
This is a 2* play on the Caps 1P. Washington heads into Game 4 on home ice with a 2-1 series lead, yet they are the underdog tonight. Florida is reeling after Sergei Bobrovsky allowed five goals on 30 shots in Game 3. The Panthers are 8-20 in the last 28 meetings in Washington, and the home team has won six of the last seven head to head meetings. The Capitals are 4-1 in their last five games as a home underdog. I like Washington's chances of keeping this game close. GL, Jesse Schule
05-08-22 | Oilers v. Kings +1.5 | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 19 h 52 m | Show
| |||||||
05-08-22 | Heat v. 76ers -130 | 108-116 | Win | 100 | 19 h 7 m | Show
This is an 8* play on PHI. Who would of thought that Philly would come into Game 4 as the favorite, with a chance to tie the series. They looked completely overmatched in the first two games of this series, but now it's Miami that is dealing with injuries. Embiid is back, while Lowry, Butler, Hero, Strus, Tucker, Vincent, Martin and Dedmon are all playing hurt. Miami scored just 79 points on 35 percent shooting in Game 3, and I am expecting them to struggle again here in Philly. GL, Jesse Schule
05-08-22 | Maple Leafs v. Lightning -115 | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 16 h 47 m | Show
| |||||||
05-08-22 | Marlins v. Padres OVER 6.5 | 2-3 | Loss | -115 | 13 h 53 m | Show
This is a 5* play on OVER. The first two games of this series were low scoring, but the Padres bats came to life in Game 3. We see another low total for Sunday's series finale, and I expect to see plenty of scoring. Trevor Rogers will toe the slab for The Fish, and he's off to a poor start to the season. He allowed five runs on six hits and two walks over just 4 1/3 innings in a loss to Washington his last time out. The Friars hand the ball to Joe Musgrove, who has been quite successful so far. He's 4-0 with a 1.97 ERA, but there are some signs that he could struggle here. He has allowed 14 hits in 13 innings in his last two starts. The over is 11-4-2 in the last 17 meetings in San Diego. GL, Jesse Schule
05-08-22 | Cardinals v. Giants OVER 7.5 | 3-4 | Loss | -115 | 3 h 53 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Over. The Giants and the Cardinals combined to score 20 runs in Game 3, and another slugfest seems likely Sunday. Dakota Hudson will toe the slab for St. Louis, and he was lit up in his last start. He gave up three runs on nine hits in six innings in a loss to Kansas City. The Giants hand the ball to Jakob Junis, who is making just his third appearance this season. The over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in San Francisco. GL, Jesse Schule
05-08-22 | Suns v. Mavs +110 | 101-111 | Win | 110 | 15 h 36 m | Show
| |||||||
05-08-22 | Pirates v. Reds OVER 8 | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 10 h 24 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Over. Both games in yesterday's double header went over the total, and poor defense and below average pitching was to blame. We aren't expectiong to see a pitcher's duel in Game 3 on Sunday. Tyler Mahle will toe the rubber for the Red, and he has had a disappointing start to the season. Mahle (1-4, 7.01 ERA) has allowed 30 hits and 14 walks in 26 innings in five starts. The Pirates hand the ball to Zach Thompson, who has allowed 13 runs on 13 hits in seven innings in his last three appearances. The over is 9-2 in the last 11 meetings in Cincinnati. GL, Jesse Schule
05-08-22 | Newcastle United v. Manchester City OVER 3 | 0-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 11 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Over. So Man City was on their way to the Champions League Final, but after conceding not one but two goals in injury time they lost on a Benzema penalty in extra time in the Semi Final. Now they focus on clinching the Premier League with Liverpool still hot on their heels. They host a Newcastle team that has won four of their last five matches. Three of the last four head to head meetings have gone over the total, and we should expect another high scoring affair here in Manchester. GL, Jesse Schule
05-08-22 | Justin Gaethje v. Charles Oliveira -165 | Top | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 49 h 35 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Oliveira. Charles Oliveira has won 10 straight fights, and impressive fashion. His last three wins came against Poirier, Chandler and Ferguson. He finished nine of his last 10 opponents, with only Ferguson going the distance. I liked Oliveira before the weigh in, and after he missed weight the money has been flowing in steady on Gaethje. I did a little digging, and since the UFC introduced its early weigh-in procedures in June 2016, betting favorites who missed weight went on to win at a rate of 76.2%. Oliveira didn't look any worse for wear at the weigh in, so I don't expect it to impact the fight a great deal. GL, Jesse Schule
05-07-22 | Flames v. Stars +1.5 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 17 h 44 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Dallas +1.5. If Dallas hadn't of scored the empty net goal in Game 2, it would have been seven of the last 10 meetings between these two teams that have been decided by one goal. It also would be been the second consecutive 1-0 game. The series shifts to Dallas for Game 3, and the Flames are still heavily favored on the road. Both starting goaltenders have allowed just one goal through the first two games, and it seems more than likely that we will see another defensive battle and it would be no surprise if we see overtime. GL, Jesse Schule
05-07-22 | Nationals v. Angels -150 | 7-3 | Loss | -150 | 8 h 39 m | Show
This is an 8* play on LAA. The Angels are in first place in the AL West, and they come into Game 2 of this home series versus Washington as winners of 10 of their last 13 overall. Michael Lorenzen will toe the slab for the Halos, and he's been solid so far. Lorenzen (3-1, 3.04 ERA) is 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA in two home starts. The Nats hand the ball to Josiah Gray, who hasn't missed many bats lately. Gray (3-2, 3.12 ERA) has issueed 14 walks and allowed 20 hits over 26 innings in his five starts. If he continues to put runners on base at that rate, his ERA will eventually skyrocket. The Nationals are 3-8 in the last 11 meetings, and they have lost five of their last six in LA. GL, Jesse Schule
05-07-22 | Grizzlies v. Warriors -6 | 112-142 | Win | 100 | 69 h 58 m | Show
This is an 8* play on GSW. The Grizzlies have had trouble with slow starts in these playoffs, and they are strutting into San Francisco with their chests puffed out after a big win in Game 2. This sets them up for a big let down here in Game 3, and I expect the Warriors to blow the doors off early. The Warriors lost once in their first round series versus Denver, and in the next game they started strong leading 30-25 after the first quarter. The Grizzlies are 6-14 ATS in their last 20 playoff games as an underdog. GL, Jesse Schule
05-07-22 | Rangers -117 v. Penguins | 4-7 | Loss | -117 | 14 h 11 m | Show
This is an 8* play on NYR. The Penguins 3rd string netminder was lit up in Game 2. GL, Jesse Schule
05-07-22 | Celtics v. Bucks -145 | 101-103 | Win | 100 | 64 h 59 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Milwaukee. The home team has won eight of the last 10 meetings between these teams, and Boston has lost four of their last five in Milwaukee. Their last visit was exactly a month ago, and the Bucks won that game 127-121. After the beating they took in Game 2 at the Garden, they will have a point to prove. Expect them to start like a house on fire, blowing the doors off in the first quarter and taking a healthy lead to the locker room at halftime. In the first round they lost Game 2 versus the Bulls, and went on to win the next game by 30 points. The Bucks are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following an ATS loss. GL, Jesse Schule
05-06-22 | Oilers v. Kings +1.5 | 8-2 | Loss | -200 | 25 h 26 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the LAK. The Oilers are heavily favored to win this series, but after splitting the first two games on home ice, they find themselves favored on the road in LA. This is despite the fact that starting goaltender Mike Smith blew it in Game 1, and he's lost 10 of his last 12 starts in the post-season. Jonathan Quick on the other hand is a two time Stanley Cup Champion and Conn Smythe winner. Six of the last meetings between these teams have been decided by one goal. Another close game should be expected here in LA. GL, Jesse Schule
05-06-22 | Suns v. Mavs -105 | 94-103 | Win | 100 | 25 h 49 m | Show
8* | |||||||
05-06-22 | Rockies +1.5 v. Diamondbacks | 1-4 | Loss | -160 | 24 h 29 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Colorado. Both the Rockies and the D'Backs come into Game 1 as winners of five of their last six. The D'Backs though still rank dead last in the majors with a team batting average of .191. The Rockies on the other hand have the best team batting average in baseball (.263). Chad Kuhl will toe the rubber for the Rockies, and he's 3-0 with a 1.90 ERA in four starts. The Rockies have won all four games that he's started. The D'Backs hand the ball to Merrill Kelly, who has been dealing in his own right. He's 2-1 with a 1.27 ERA in five starts this season, but he's 0-1 with a 5.29 ERA in his last three starts against the Rockies. The Diamondbacks are 4-17 in their last 21 games following an off day. GL, Jesse Schule
05-05-22 | Cardinals +1.5 v. Giants | 7-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 12 m | Show
| |||||||
05-05-22 | Predators v. Avalanche -1.5 | 1-2 | Loss | -135 | 8 h 44 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Colorado. The Avs are the favorites to win the Stanley Cup, and they finished at the top of the standings in the Western Conference. They host the Nashville Predators, who were always going to be overmatched in this series. Starting Game 1 without their #1 goalie is going to make things even tougher for the Preds. Jusse Saros was 38-25-3 with a 2.64 GAA this season, but both their 2nd and 3rd strings goaltenders had a GAA over 3.50. David Rittich started two games against Colorado during the regular season, going 1-1 with a 4.80 GAA. He was pulled after allowing five goals on 13 shots in Game 1. The situation in net is a bit of a disaster for Nashville. GL, Jesse Schule
05-05-22 | Penguins v. Rangers -150 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 19 h 17 m | Show
This is an 8* play on NYR. The Penguins may have to start their third string netminder in Game 2. GL, Jesse Schule
05-05-22 | Nationals +1.5 v. Rockies | 7-9 | Loss | -150 | 13 h 4 m | Show
This is an 8* play on WAS. The Rockies have won four of five on their current home stand, and they have been hot at the plate. The Rockies lead the major league in team batting average hitting a combined .262. Antonio Senzatela will toe the rubber for the Rockies, and he has solid numbers with a record of 3-1 with a 3.66 ERA. That doesn't tell the whole story though, as he's been putting plenty of runners on base. He's allowed 33 hits over 19 2/2 innings in four starts. The Nats hand the ball to Aaron Sanchez, who is making just his third start of the season. He's allowed seven runs on a dozen hits over 9 1/3 innings in two starts. The over is 12-4 in the Nats last 16 games at Coors Field. GL, Jesse Schule
05-04-22 | Giants v. Dodgers -153 | 1-9 | Win | 100 | 6 h 47 m | Show
This is an 8* play on LAD. The Giants won the NL West last year, finishing ahead of the Dodgers, Nobody expected them to do it again this season, but they got off to a surprising hot start. They come into Game 2 of this series in LA as losers of four of five, and injuries are hurting them at the moment. They won't have Yazstremski, Wade Jr., Belt, Longoria, Duggar or La Stella in tonight's game. While the pitching matchup favors the home team, the disparity in talent in the lineup is massive. The Dodgers should be a 2-1 favorite considering all the injuries. GL, Jesse Schule
05-04-22 | Blues v. Wild -130 | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 8 h 3 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Minnesota. I had the Wild in Game 1, and despite the loss I am doubling down. Here is what I said prior to Game 1: "The Wild come into the post-season as perhaps the hottest team in the NHL. They won 19 of their last 26 regular season games. They made some big moves at the trade deadline, adding a veteran netminder with three Stanley Cup rings and a Vezina Trophy. Fleury is 9-2 with a 2.74 GAA since joining the Wild. While Minnesota has a proven playoff performer, the Blues turn to Ville Husso, who had an outstanding regular season. The 27 year old lacks Playoff experience. The Blues are 0-6 in their last six playoff games as an underdog, and the Wild are 51-16 in their last 67 home games." GL, Jesse Schule
05-04-22 | Nationals v. Rockies OVER 10.5 | 2-5 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 39 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Over. The Washington Nationals have scored in double digits in three of their last four overall, and another slugfest is expected at Coors Field tonight. Patrick Corbin will toe the slab for the visitors, and he hasn't missed many bats this season. The southpaw has allowed 10 runs on 11 hits over 7 2/3 innings in his last two appearances. The Rockies hand the ball to Austin Gomber, who has allowed three or more runs in three of his four starts. The over is 11-4 in the last 15 meetings in Colorado. GL, Jesse Schule
05-04-22 | Lightning +1.5 v. Maple Leafs | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 6 h 2 m | Show
This is a 5* play on TB. The Leafs looked like the best team in the NHL in Game 1, but I am not ready to discount two decades of playoff futility after just 60 minutes of hockey. The Lightning are defending champions two years running, with a Vezina winner and Conn Smythe winner in goal. It would be naive not to expect some push back from the Lightning in Game 2. GL, Jesse Schule
05-04-22 | Bruins +107 v. Hurricanes | 2-5 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 43 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Bruins. Game 1 of this series looks like a blowout when you see the final score, but that doesn't accurately describe what happened.
05-04-22 | Yankees -139 v. Blue Jays | 1-2 | Loss | -139 | 6 h 42 m | Show
This is an 8* play on NYY. The Yankees have won 11 straight, and they are looking to sweep the Blue Jays in the series finale in Toronto. The bad news for the Jays is that they appear to be overmatched in this spot. Nasty Nestor Cortes will toe the slab for the Bronx Bombers, and he shut them down through 4 1/3 innings in his season debut. His 28 Ks in just over 20 innings pitched is quite impressive. The Jays hand the ball to Yusei Kikuchi, who is still winless in four starts. He allowed three runs on five hits over just 3 1/3 innings in a loss to the Yankees in his season debut. Vladdy Jr. is struggling at the plate, just 2 for 22 over the last seven days. GL, Jesse Schule
05-04-22 | Manchester City v. Real Madrid OVER 3 | Top | 1-2 | Push | 0 | 65 h 39 m | Show |
10* | |||||||
05-04-22 | Cardinals v. Royals OVER 7.5 | 10-0 | Win | 100 | 9 h 38 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Over. These two teams have split the first two games of this series, and we expect fireworks in the rubber match Wednesday. Adam Wainwright will toe the slab for St. Louis, and at over 40 years old he might be showing his age. He's allowed seven runs on a dozen hits and eight walks in 11 innings in his last two appearances. The Royals hand the ball to Kris Bubic, who hasn't missed many bats lately. He's allowed eight runs on 11 hits over seven innings in his last two starts. The over is 5-2 in the Cardinals last seven overall. GL, Jesse Schule
05-03-22 | Predators v. Avalanche -1.5 | 2-7 | Win | 100 | 24 h 40 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Colorado. He will likely start for Nashville in Game 1. GL, Jesse Schule
05-03-22 | Yankees v. Blue Jays -129 | 9-1 | Loss | -129 | 15 h 11 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Toronto. The Jays lost Game 1 in the ninth inning, but the pitching matchup for Game 2 appears to favor the home team. Alek Manoah will toe the slab for Toronto, and he's been spectacular this season. He's 4-0 with a 1.44 ERA, and one of his wins came at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees hand the ball to Jameson Taillon, who has struggled against Toronto. He allowed a pair of runs on five hits in five innings in a loss to Toronto in his season debut. Last year he was 0-2 with a 6.23 ERA in three starts versus Toronto last year. The Blue Jays are 21-5 in their last 26 games following a loss. GL, Jesse Schule
05-03-22 | Bucks +4.5 v. Celtics | 86-109 | Loss | -110 | 21 h 9 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Bucks. The Celtics had no answer for Milwaukee in Game 1, and it's difficult to imagine how they are going to turn things around a few days later without Marcus Smart. Boston was a 4.5 point favorite in Game 1, and they are again asked to cover points in Game 2. It seems quite clear that even if the Celtics can win this game (and that might be a big if) they shouldn't be asked to cover a bunch of points against a the two time MVP and defending NBA Champions. The Bucks are 7-1 ATS in their last eight road games. GL, Jesse Schule
05-03-22 | Rangers v. Phillies -155 | 6-4 | Loss | -155 | 17 h 19 m | Show
This is an 8* play on PHI. After winning four straight in a home series versus Colorado, the Phillies dropped two of three on the road in New York. They host Texas in Game 1 of a home series Tuesday, and this looks like a good spot to back the home favorite. Ranger Saurez will toe the slab for Philly, and he's undefeated in four starts. He was 6-1 with a 1.51 ERA in 22 appearances at home last season. The Rangers hand the ball to Jon Gray, who hasn't missed many bats so far this season. He was 3-7 with a 5.22 ERA in 15 starts on the road last season. The Rangers are 8-20 in their last 28 interleague games as an underdog. GL, Jesse Schule
05-03-22 | Diamondbacks v. Marlins -180 | 5-4 | Loss | -180 | 7 h 43 m | Show
This is a 4* play on Miami. The Marlins lost Game 1 of this home series versus Arizona, but they have a favorable matchup in Game 2. Trevor Rogers will toe the slab for the Fish, and he's coming off a pair of solid performances. He allowed a pair of runs on six hits, fanning eight in 11 innings in his last two appearances. The D'Backs hand the ball to Humberto Casetellanos, who comes out of the bullpen. He was lit up for five runs on five hits in two innings in a loss to St. Louis his last time out. The Diamondbacks are 3-7 in their last 10 games following a win. GL, Jesse Schule
05-02-22 | Mavs v. Suns -5.5 | 114-121 | Win | 100 | 20 h 51 m | Show
This is a 5* play on PHX. The Suns came into the post-season as the best team in the NBA, and in the first round they survived an injury to Devin Booker. They host the Mavs in the second round, and Booker is back at full strength. Chris Paul ia coming off a perfect shooting night, going 14-of-14 from the field in Game 6 versus the Pelicans. The Suns have won nine straight versus Dallas dating back to 2020. The Suns are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 Conference Semifinals games. As impressive as the Mavs were in the first round, they were facing a Jazz team that is notorious for falling apart in the Playoffs. Phoenix is looking to get back to the Finals, and at this point it's tough to see anyone stopping them. GL, Jesse Schule
05-02-22 | Blues v. Wild -135 | Top | 4-0 | Loss | -135 | 25 h 14 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Minnesota. The Wild come into the post-season as perhaps the hottest team in the NHL. The Blues are 0-6 in their last six playoff games as an underdog, and the Wild are 51-16 in their last 67 home games. GL, Jesse Schule

04-30-22 | Yankees v. Royals OVER 7.5 | 3-0 | Loss | -105 | 20 h 19 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Over. The Yankees scored a dozen runs in Kansas City last night, and we expect another slugfest in Game 2. Gerrit Cole will toe the slab for the Bronx Bombers, and he isn't the same pitcher since MLB banned the sticky stuff. He's only really been good in one of his four starts this season, and that was in New York. The Royals hand the ball to Carlos Hernandez, who hasn't missed many bats this season. He's allowed 10 runs on 20 hits in 14 innings in three appearances. The over is 8-1-2 in the last 11 head to head meetings between these teams. GL, Jesse Schule
04-30-22 | Braves v. Rangers OVER 8.5 | 1-3 | Loss | -110 | 19 h 7 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Over. The Rangers pitching staff has struggled so far, and that's expected to continue in Game 2 of this home series versus Atlanta. Dane Dunning will toe the rubber for the Rangers, and he's still looking for his first victory. Dunning (-0-1, 4.91 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on five hits over 5 1/3 innings in a no decision versus Houston his last time out. The Braves hand the ball to Bryce Elder, who has really struggled with his command. He's walked 11 batters in nine innings in his last two starts. The over is 7-3-1 in the Braves last 11 during game 2 of a series. GL, Jesse Schule
04-30-22 | Angels v. White Sox OVER 8.5 | 0-4 | Loss | -125 | 17 h 4 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Over. The White Sox host the Angels in Game 2 of a home series Saturday, looking to bounce back from a 5-1 loss in Game 1. Jose Saurez will toe the slab for the Halos, and he's still looking for his first victory. Saurez (0-1, 5.54 ERA) has put 20 runners on base in 13 innings in his three starts. The White Sox hand the ball to Vince Velasquez, who has also struggled. He's allowed nine runs on 13 hits in eight innings in his last two starts. The over is 7-1-1 in the Angels last nine road games. GL, Jesse Schule
04-29-22 | Nationals v. Giants -192 | 14-4 | Loss | -192 | 26 h 21 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Giants. San Francisco had the best record in the majors last season, but most expected them to take a step back this year. So far they have picked up right where they left off, sitting in first place in the NL West. Alex Wood will toe the slab for San Francisco, and he's been solid in all three starts going 2-0 with a 2.51 ERA. The Nats hand the ball to Aaron Sanchez, who was throttled by the Giants in his only previous start. He allowed four runs on six hits in just 4 1/3 innings in that game. Washington has lost six straight head to head versus the Giants. GL, Jesse Schule
04-29-22 | Diamondbacks v. Cardinals -152 | 6-2 | Loss | -152 | 24 h 22 m | Show
This is a 5* play on STL. The Cardinals won big in Game 1 of this home series versus Arizona, and they have a favorable matchup in Game 2. Adam Wainwright will toe the slab for St. Louis, and he's still pitching like and ace at the age of 40. He was 9-5 with a 2.74 ERA in 19 home starts last season. The D'Backs hand the ball to Madison Bumgarner, who hasn't aged as well as his counterpart. He was torched for seven runs on five hits and four walks in just four innings losing his last start versus the Cardinals. The Cardinals are 8-3 in their last 11 home games. GL, Jesse Schule
04-29-22 | Yankees -177 v. Royals | 12-2 | Win | 100 | 24 h 17 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the NYY. The Yankees are in first place in the AL East, and they come into Kansas City riding a six game win streak. They appear to have a favorable matchup in Game 1. Nasty Nestor Cortes will toe the slab for the Bronx Bombers, and he's been dealing. He's allowed just two runs and has racked up 25 Ks in three starts. The Royals hand the ball to Kris Bubic, who has struggled early this season. He was torched for five runs on seven hits in just two innings in a loss to Seattle his last time out. The Yankees are 19-7 in their last 26 games versus a left-handed starter. GL, Jesse Schule
04-28-22 | Mavs -135 v. Jazz | 98-96 | Win | 100 | 44 h 58 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Dallas. I said this prior to Game 5: "I bet on Utah in Game 4, and I consider myself quite lucky to have escaped with a win. The Jazz held on to win by a score of 100-99, despite 30 points from Luka Doncic. The calf injury that kept him out of the first three games didn't seem to bother Luka, and he looked great in his return. The Jazz are 6-19-1 ATS in their last 26 road games, and they are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games playing on 1 days rest. They have failed to cover in eight of their last nine versus the Mavericks, and their reputation for choking in the post-season looms large." The Mavs have all the momentum and with Donovan Mitchell hurt this series could be over. GL, Jesse Schule
04-28-22 | Suns -130 v. Pelicans | 115-109 | Win | 100 | 2 h 51 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Suns. The Suns were the best team in the NBA this season, and they have a chance to clinch this series here in New Orleans tonight. They proved that they have the depth to win without their leading scorer, even on the road. They will get Booker back tonight, and that makes it a daunting task for the Pelicans. The Suns have covered in four of their last five at New Orleans, and three of those four wins came by a double digit margin. Expect this to be a blowout. GL, Jesse Schule
04-28-22 | 76ers v. Raptors +105 | 132-97 | Loss | -100 | 47 h 50 m | Show
This is a 5* play on TOR. Here is what I said prior to Game 4: "No team has ever come back from an 0-3 series deficit in the NBA Playoffs, so you have to think this series is over. That being said, the Raptors have to chance to prevent the Sixers from celebrating on their court if they can win Game 4 and extend the series. The Sixers are due for a let down after winning Game 3 with a buzzer beater three-point shot from Joel Embiid. The 76ers are 5-14 ATS in the last 19 meetings in Toronto, and I like the Raptors to salvage some pride here in Game 4." With Embiid struggling to play hurt, and Toronto potentially at full strength in Game 6, this series appears to be destined to go to a Game 7. GL, Jesse Schule
04-28-22 | Red Sox v. Blue Jays -148 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 15 h 46 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Toronto. The Blue Jays have taken two of three in this home series versus Boston, and they have a favorable matchup in the series finale. Alek Manaoh will toe the slab for the Jays, and he's been lights out so far. Manoah (3-0, 2.00 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on seven hits while fanning five in six innings in a win over Houston his last time out. The Red Sox will hand the ball to their bullpen, with Garrett Whitlock likely used as an opener. The Red Sox are 9-25 in their last 34 games as an underdog. GL, Jesse Schule
04-28-22 | Astros -155 v. Rangers | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 14 h 46 m | Show
This is a 5* play on HOU. The Astros have taken two of the first three games in this series, and they have a favorable matchup in Game 4. Justin Verlander will toe the slab for Houston, and he's been dealing so far this season. He's 5-0 with a 2.25 ERA in his last six starts versus Texas. The Rangers hand the ball to Martin Perez, who has struggled at home. He's allowed seven runs on a dozen hits in eight innings while losing both his home starts. The Astros are 9-4 in their last 13 games as a favorite. GL, Jesse Schule
04-28-22 | Marlins -145 v. Nationals | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 13 h 45 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Miami. The Marlins have won four straight, and they look good as a favorite in Game 3 in Washington. The Nats have lost seven in a row. Trevor Rogers will toe the slab for the Fish, and he's coming off a solid performance in his last start. He allowed 1 run on four hits in five innings in a loss at Atlanta. The Nats hand the ball to Patrick Corbin, who has struggled in all four of his starts. He was rocked for seven runs on seven hits in 1 2/3 innings in a loss to the Giants his last time out. The Nationals are 5-16 in their last 21 home games versus a left-handed starter. GL, Jesse Schule
04-27-22 | Royals +1.5 v. White Sox | 3-7 | Loss | -133 | 11 h 48 m | Show
This is a 5* play on KC Runline. The Royals shut out the White Sox in Game 1 in Chicago, and despite losing eight in a row, the White Sox are the favorite in Game 2. Zack Greinke will toe the slab for KC, and he's been solid in three starts. He was 6-2 with a 3.45 ERA in 14 starts on the road last season. The White Sox hand the ball to Dylan Cease, who lost at Cleveland in his last start. He allowed four runs on eight hits and two walks in 5 1/3 innings in that game. Chicago is dealing with several injuries to key players in the lineup, and they have lost seven of their last 10 versus the Royals. GL, Jesse Schule
04-26-22 | Red Sox v. Blue Jays -174 | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 19 h 25 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Toronto. The Blue Jays are back on top in the AL East after winning Game 1 of this home series versus Boston. They appear to have a favorable matchup in Game 2. Kevin Gausman will toe the slab for Toronto, and he's picked up where he left off last season. Gausman (1-1, 2.89 ERA) allowed one run on seven hits, striking out eight in eight innings in a win at Boston his last time out. The Red Sox hand the ball to Nick Pivetta, who has struggled against Toronto. He got lit up for five runs on seven hits and four walks in just four innings against the Jays in his last start. Bo Bichette hit a Grand Slam last night, and he's batting .471 with a pair of home runs lifetime versus Pivetta. GL, Jesse Schule
04-26-22 | Hawks v. Heat -7 | 94-97 | Loss | -110 | 19 h 59 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Miami. I bet Miami in Game 4, and here is what I said prior to the game: "The Hawks win in Game 3 will prevent them from being swept, but I don't think they are back in the series. Trae Young hit the game winner in the final seconds, but it wasn't really a convincing performance. Kyle Lowry might be out with a hamstring injury, but the Heat were 12-7 in games he missed during the regular season. The Hawks are 5-15 ATS in their last 20 games following a straight up win. The Heat are 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 road games, and I expect them to want it more here in Game 4." Back in Miami it's going to get ugly for Trae Young and the Hawks. GL, Jesse Schule
04-26-22 | Real Madrid +1.25 v. Manchester City | Top | 3-4 | Win | 50 | 21 h 16 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Real Madrid +1.5. Manchester City has no business being such a big favorite here in the first leg of this Champions League tie. While City is under heavy pressure in a heated Premier League battle with Liverpool, Madrid is on the verge of clinching another La Liga title. Karim Benzema looks like the best player in the world at the moment, with a dozen goals in nine matches in Champions League play. Manchester City has injury concerns that might cause Gabriel Jesus to play out of position at right back. We expect a cautious approach from both teams, and a draw seems like a likely result. Only once in the last five head to head meetings has either of these teams won by more than one goal. GL, Jesse Schule
04-25-22 | Jazz v. Mavs -150 | 77-102 | Win | 100 | 25 h 16 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Dallas. I bet on Utah in Game 4, and I consider myself quite lucky to have escaped with a win. They have failed to cover in eight of their last nine versus the Mavericks, and their reputation for choking in the post-season looms large. GL, Jesse Schule
04-24-22 | Heat -125 v. Hawks | 110-86 | Win | 100 | 23 h 42 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Miami. The Hawks win in Game 3 will prevent them from being swept, but I don't think they are back in the series. The Heat are 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 road games, and I expect them to want it more here in Game 4. GL, Jesse Schule
04-24-22 | Royals v. Mariners -179 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 16 h 2 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Seattle. The Mariners are in first place in the AL West, and they are 6-2 at home. They look good with their ace on the mound in Game 3 versus Kansas City. Robbie Ray (2-1, 4.19 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on four hits over six innings in a win over the Rangers his last time out. The Royals hand the ball to Carlos Hernandez, who is still looking for his first win. He's allowed seven runs on 14 hits over 8 2/3 innings in two starts. The Royals are 6-13 in their last 19 games as an underdog. GL, Jesse Schule
04-24-22 | Mets -160 v. Diamondbacks | 6-2 | Win | 100 | 16 h 1 m | Show
This is a 5* play on NYM. The Mets are in first place in the NL East, second place in the major leagues in runs scored, and they have the third best team batting average in the majors (.259). They are just a slight favorite on the road in Arizona, facing the last place team in the NL West. The D'Backs rank dead last in the majors with a team batting average of .176. The veteran Madison Bumgarner will toe the slab for the home team, and his ERA of 1.38 is misleading when you consider he has walked 10 batters in 13 innings. New York's lineup can make him pay if he puts runners on base. GL, Jesse Schule
04-24-22 | Pirates v. Cubs -160 | 4-3 | Loss | -160 | 15 h 6 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Cubs. After losing the first two games of this series, the Cubs won 21-0 in Game 3. They look good to salvage a split in the series finale versus the Pirates. JT Brubraker will toe the slab for Pittsburgh. and he's struggled against Chicago. Chicago's lineup has hit a combined .293 over 41 at bats versus Brubraker. The Cubs hand the ball to Justin Steele, who is off to a good start. He was 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in two games against the Pirates last year. The Pirates are 4-11 in the last 15 head to head meetings. GL, Jesse Schule
04-23-22 | Celtics v. Nets -150 | 109-103 | Loss | -150 | 25 h 34 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Utah. Right now the Jazz are the laughing stock of the NBA. Everyone has them labelled as fraud, a team that can't win in the Playoffs despite success in the regular season. As bad as it is, they still have a chance to even the series at 2-2 with a win on their home court against a Dallas team that has been playing without it's leading scorer. It will be very important for the Jazz to get off to a good start in Game 4. This does look like a let down spot for the Mavs. GL, Jesse Schule
04-23-22 | Canadiens +1.5 v. Senators | 4-6 | Loss | -190 | 23 h 24 m | Show
This is a 5* play on MTL. The Habs have lost seven straight, and there really isn't a lot left to motivate this team this season. Tonight's game could be a bit different though, as everyone in Canada will be mourning the loss of Hall of Famer Guy LaFleur. It's also a rivalry game against the Senators, who are playing on back to back nights after a Game in Columbus on Friday. The Senators are 15-48 in their last 63 games playing on 0 days rest. GL, Jesse Schule
04-23-22 | Cardinals -108 v. Reds | 5-0 | Win | 100 | 15 h 44 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Cardinals. The Reds are the worst team in baseball right now, and they have another tough game Saturday against St. Louis. Tyler Mahle will toe the rubber for the Reds, and he's coming off back to back poor outings allowing 11 runs on 12 hits over 7 2/3 innings. The Cardinals hand the ball to Dakota Hudson, who hasn't been much better. Hudson though has pitched well against the Reds. Cinci's lineup is batting just .090 over 45 at bats versus Hudson. With a team batting average of .189, the Reds might not provide much in the way of run support for Mahle. GL, Jesse Schule
04-23-22 | Rangers v. A's OVER 7.5 | 2-0 | Loss | -119 | 23 h 5 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Over.
04-23-22 | White Sox v. Twins -120 | 2-9 | Win | 100 | 15 h 58 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Minnesota. The Twins won Game 1 of this home series versus Chicago, and they have a favorable matchup in Game 2. Dylan Bundy will toe the slab for the Twins, and he's been dealing so far this season. Bundy (2-0, 0.87 ERA) allowed one run on five hits while fanning six in 5 1/3 innings in a win over Boston his last time out. The White Sox hand the ball to Vince Velasquez, who makes his first start on the road this season. He was 1-6 with 7.29 ERA in 11 road starts last year. The White Sox are 12-39 in their last 51 games as a road underdog. GL, Jesse Schule
04-23-22 | 76ers v. Raptors +135 | 102-110 | Win | 135 | 19 h 8 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Toronto. No team has ever come back from an 0-3 series deficit in the NBA Playoffs, so you have to think this series is over. That being said, the Raptors have to chance to prevent the Sixers from celebrating on their court if they can win Game 4 and extend the series. The Sixers are due for a let down after winning Game 3 with a buzzer beater three-point shot from Joel Embiid. The 76ers are 5-14 ATS in the last 19 meetings in Toronto, and I like the Raptors to salvage some pride here in Game 4. GL, Jesse Schule
04-22-22 | Bucks v. Bulls +128 | 111-81 | Loss | -100 | 18 h 13 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Chicago Bulls.
04-21-22 | Rangers v. Mariners -139 | 8-6 | Loss | -139 | 20 h 52 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Seattle. The Mariners are going for a sweep in a home series versus Texas, which comes as no surprise when you consider the history between these two teams. Texas is 6-22 in their last 28 versus Seattle. Marco Gonzalez will toe the slab for Seattle in Game 3, and the Mariners are 13-5 in his last 18 home starts. The Rangers hand the ball to Taylor Hearn, who was 0-2 with a 3.72 ERA against Seattle last year. The Mariners are 8-3 in their last 11 games as a favorite. GL, Jesse Schule
04-21-22 | Grizzlies v. Wolves +110 | 104-95 | Loss | -100 | 18 h 43 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Minnesota. The home team won all four meetings during the regular season, but the Timberwolves shocked the Grizzlies by winning Game 1 in Memphis. The Grizzlies handed them a 28 point loss in Game 2, and the Timberwolves are 14-6-1 ATS in their last 21 games following a straight up loss. Back home for Game 3, I expect the home team to come out firing on all cylinders from the opening tip off. The Grizzlies are 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine road games, and they are 1-5 ATS in their last six Conference Quarterfinals games. Memphis could suffer a let down here in Game 3. GL, Jesse Schule
04-20-22 | Bulls +10 v. Bucks | 114-110 | Win | 100 | 31 h 50 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Bulls. DeRozan after Game 1: "I'm not gonna go 6-for25 again". The Bulls shot 32 % from the field and just 18 % from beyond the arc in Game 1 and still almost won. While I am not convinced the Bulls won't get swept, I think it's asking a lot for the Bucks to be a double digit favorite after nearly blowing the series opener. GL, Jesse Schule
04-20-22 | 76ers v. Raptors +110 | 104-101 | Loss | -100 | 29 h 21 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Toronto. This series has been totally one-sided so far, but expect the Raptors to push back in Game 3 in Toronto. The 76ers are 0-5 ATS in their last five road games, and they are 1-5 ATS in their last six north of the border. The Raptors are 16-7 ATS in their last 23 games following a straight up loss. They know that this is a must win, and I expect them to blow the doors off in the first half. When Toronto lost the first two games of the Conference Finals versus the Milwaukee Bucks in 2019, they went on to win the next four games, winning the series and going on to win the Championship. Fred Van Fleet and Pascal Siakam were a huge part of that championship squad, and they should be great with their backs against the wall in Game 3. GL, Jesse Schule
04-20-22 | Nets v. Celtics -160 | 107-114 | Win | 100 | 28 h 12 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Boston. I said this before Game 1: "While KD and Kyrie are without a doubt a formidable force, the Nets have serious issues with depth. The Nets won their play-in game against the Cavs, but failed to cover. Kyrie started that game 12-for-12, and you have to wonder what would have happened if he didn't make every shot, and realize you can't count on him to do that every night. The Celtics were the best team in the NBA after the All Star break, and they finished the season winning 19 of their last 25 overall. The Celtics dominated the season series, even when both Kyrie and KD were in the lineup. A lack of depth, poor defense and relying too heavily on two players is a lot to overcome for Brooklyn." The Nets shot 53.8% from the field and over 45% from beyond the arc, and it wasn't enough to win Game 1. I don't expect it to get an easier in Game 2 in Boston. GL, Jesse Schule
04-19-22 | Rangers v. Mariners -139 | Top | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 22 h 36 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Seattle. The Mariners took two of three in a home series versus Houton, and they look good with their ace on the mound in Game 1 of a home series versus Texas. Robbie Ray (1-1, 4,73 ERA) allowed one run on three hits, striking out five in seven innings in a win at Minnesota in his season debut. The Rangers lineup has hit a combined .082 over 76 at bats versus Ray. Texas will hand the ball to Jon Gray, who allowed three runs on three hits and a pair of walks in four innings in his season debut in Toronto. The Rangers are 7-23 in the last 30 meetings in Seattle. GL, Jesse Schule
04-18-22 | Reds v. Padres -162 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 24 h 4 m | Show
This is a 5* play on San Diego. The Reds come into San Diego as losers of six straight and eight of their last nine. It won't get any easier on the road versus a red hot starter. Sean Manaea pitched a seven inning no hitter in his season debut, and followed up allowed a pair of runs on four hits, striking out six in six innings versus the Giants. The Reds hand the ball to Nick Lodolo, who was lit up in his first start. He allowed five runs on seven hits, a pair of home runs and three walks in a home loss to Cleveland. The Reds are 8-20 in their last 28 road games. GL, Jesse Schule
04-18-22 | Pirates v. Brewers -169 | 1-6 | Win | 100 | 22 h 5 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Milwaukee. You know it must be early in the season when the Pittsburgh Pirates still have a winning record. The Brewers are just 5-5 but a home series versus the Pirates should be an opportunity to string a few wins together. Zach Thompson will toe the slab for Pittsburgh, and he's been dealing with shoulder soreness. The right-hander was winless in 11 appearances on the road last year. The Brewers hand the ball to Eric Lauer, who was 2-0 with a 1.47 ERA in three starts versus Pittsburgh last year. Ke'Bryan Hayes is 0-for-8 lifetime versus Lauer. GL, Jesse Schule
04-18-22 | Raptors v. 76ers -6.5 | 97-112 | Win | 100 | 24 h 32 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Philly. I had high hopes for the Raptors in this series, but losing three key players (Barnes, Trent Jr. and Young) in Game 1 doesn't bode well heading into Game 2 in Philly. The MVP Joel Embiid scored just 19 points on 5 -of-15 shooting in Game 1, and the Sixers won by 20. You can expect Embiid to be better in Game 2, and all of a sudden the Raptors are at a huge disadvantage. Toronto was in foul trouble throughout Game 1, and Van Fleet and Boucher both fouled out. Staying out of foul trouble is going to be that much more difficult with fewer bodies to through out there. GL, Jesse Schule
04-17-22 | Reds +1.5 v. Dodgers | 1-9 | Loss | -120 | 15 h 9 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Cinci. The Reds have lost five straight, and they look to avoid a sweep here in LA this afternoon. With a hot starting pitcher on the mound, they have a good chance to do just that. Tyle Mahle will toe the slab for Cinci, and he allowed on run on three hits, fanning seven in five innings in a win over Atlanta on Opening Day. The Dodgers lineup has hit a combined .243 with more strikeouts than hits over 59 at bats versus Mahle. The Dodgers hand the ball to Andrew Heaney, who was 8-9 with a 5.83 ERA in 23 starts last season. GL, Jesse Schule
04-17-22 | Nets v. Celtics -170 | 114-115 | Win | 100 | 90 h 31 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Boston. The media is pumping up the Nets, and many are picking Brooklyn as the team to beat in the Eastern Conference. While KD and Kyrie are without a doubt a formidable force, the Nets have serious issues with depth. A lack of depth, poor defense and relying too heavily on two players is a lot to overcome for Brooklyn. 04-17-22 | Phillies -138 v. Marlins | 3-11 | Loss | -138 | 13 h 11 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Philly. The Phillies haven't exactly lived up to expectations so far this season, but after scoring 10 runs on Saturday, they may have turned the corner. Zack Wheeler will toe the slab for Philly in the series finale, and he looked sharp in his season debut. He allowed a run on two hits through 4 2/3 innings, but didn't get any help from the bats in a 2-0 loss. He was 1-0 with a 2.77 ERA in two starts versus the Fish last year. The Marlins hand the ball to Elieser Hernandez, who got lit up in a loss to the Angels in his first start. He allowed four runs on five hits, a pair of home runs and three walks in just 4 2/3 innings. The Marlins are 4-10 in their last 14 games following a loss. GL, Jesse Schule
04-17-22 | A's v. Blue Jays -1.5 | 3-4 | Loss | -120 | 15 h 28 m | Show
This is a 5* play on TOR. The Jays haven't quite lived up to high expectations so far, but one player who hasn't disappointed is starting pitcher Alek Manoah. All he did is going into the Bronx and toss six scoreless innings, giving up just one hit and fanning seven in his season debut. The A's will turn to the back end of their rotation in Game 3, and Adam Oller was lit up for five runs on five hits, a pair of home runs and three walks all in just 1 1/3 innings in his first appearance this season. The Athletics are 2-8 in their last 10 games versus a right-handed starter, and they have lost six of their last seven versus the Jays. GL, Jesse Schule
04-16-22 | Sharks v. Stars -185 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 20 h 59 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Dallas. The playoff race in the Western Conference is too close to call. Only two points separate the 6,7,8, and 9th place teams. Dallas currently holds the eighth and final Wild Card spot, but that could change if they fail to win tonight's home game against the Sharks. San Jose has already been eliminated from the playoffs, and they have lost eight in a row. The Sharks are 5-18 in their last 23 road games, and they are are 0-6 in the last six meetings in Dallas. The home team is 22-8 in the last 30 meetings. GL, Jesse Schule
04-16-22 | Raptors +4.5 v. 76ers | 111-131 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 48 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Toronto. I like the Raptors to steal Game 1 and win this series in six games or less. Philly is the favorite, but it's no secret that they don't match up well with this young, athletic Raptors team. James Harden is a proven playoff performer (proven to underperform). He averaged just over 10 points per game in the Eastern Conference Semi Finals versus Milwaukee last year. He averaged just over 15 points per game in the month of April, and it's obvious that he didn't come into this season in the best shape of his life. The Raptors are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 playoff games as an underdog, and they are 4-0 ATS in their last four versus Philly. GL, Jesse Schule
04-16-22 | Diamondbacks v. Mets -145 | 3-2 | Loss | -145 | 18 h 28 m | Show
This is an 8* play on NYM. The Mets scored 10 runs in Game 1 of this series, and we might expect more of the same in Game 2 on Saturday. Carlos Carrasco will toe the slab for New York, and he looked solid in his season debut. He allowed a run on two hits, fanning five in 5 2/3 innings in a no decision versus Washington. The D'Backs hand the ball to Zach Gallen, who was 4-10 with a 4.30 ERA in 23 starts last season. Arizona is batting a combined .135 on the season (30th in MLB). The visitors just don't have the firepower to match the Mets. GL, Jesse Schule
04-16-22 | Jazz -185 v. Mavs | 99-93 | Win | 100 | 16 h 13 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Utah Jazz. No Luka Doncic in Game 1 should spell trouble for the Mavs. Dallas played 17 games without him this season, going 8-9 and averaging 107 points per game. The Jazz are 6-2 ATS in their last eight playoff games as a favorite, and they have covered four straight in the first round. Utah has a history of playoff disappointment, losing in the second round to the Clippers last year, and getting bounced in the first round by Denver the year before that. They have an opportunity to flip the script here, and I expect them to take full advantage. GL, Jesse Schule
04-15-22 | Astros v. Mariners +105 | 1-11 | Win | 105 | 3 h 26 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Seattle.
04-15-22 | Hawks -130 v. Cavs | 107-101 | Win | 100 | 42 h 3 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Atlanta. The Cavs were a competitive team in the East during the regular season, and they have an impressive group of young and talented players. I don't think they are ready to take the next step into the post-season though, and that is evidenced by the fact that they lost seven of their last 10 games. Atlanta made it to the Eastern Conference Finals in last year's playoffs, and watching them play their play-in game against Charlotte it looked like they are ready for another strong post-season run. Trae Young has lit up the Cavs to the tune of 32.5 points per game in the season series (4 games). The Hawks have covered in six straight as a favorite, and they are 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the Cavs. GL, Jesse Schule
04-15-22 | Nationals +1.5 v. Pirates | 7-2 | Win | 100 | 20 h 9 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Washington. Pittsburgh won Game 1 of this series by a score of 9-4, but the Nats have still won six of the last eight head to head meetings. Mitch Keller will toe the slab for the Pirates, and he wasn't sharp in his season debut. He allowed four runs on six hits and two walks in four innings in a loss to St. Louis. He was 2-8 with a 7.91 ERA in 15 home starts last season. The Nats hand the ball to Erick Fedde, who looked pretty good in his first start. He allowed two runs on five hits, fanning five in five innings in a win over the Mets. Fedde didn't allow a run in three starts in the pre-season. GL, Jesse Schule
04-15-22 | Diamondbacks v. Mets -195 | 3-10 | Win | 100 | 16 h 41 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the NYM. The Mets host Arizona on Jackie Robinson day, and the home team has a huge advantage on the mound in Game 1. Zach Davies will toe the slab for the D'Backs, and he didn't look sharp in his season debut. He was brutal for the Cubs last year. He only won once in the entire second half of the season, and he was 0-2 with a 15.32 ERA in four starts in September. The Mets hand the ball to Chris Bassitt, who is looking for his second win of the season. He tossed six scoreless innings, striking out eight in a win over Washington in his season debut. It's still early in the season, but the D'Backs batting average of .140 is still pretty ugly. GL, Jesse Schule
04-14-22 | Coyotes v. Canucks -1.5 | 1-7 | Win | 100 | 25 h 20 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Vancouver. The Canucks aren't going to the playoffs, but don't tell them that. They appear to be determined to keep fighting until the final whistle. They have won four straight, and one of those wins came at Arizona by a score of 5-1. Elias Petterson scored a goal and two assists in that game, and he has four goals and six assists during the Canucks four game winning streak. The Coyotes have lost five of their last six games, and all five of those losses came by 2+ goals. The Canucks have won four of the last five head to head meetings, and all four wins came by 2+ goals. GL, Jesse Schule
04-14-22 | Blue Jays +1.5 v. Yankees | 0-3 | Loss | -160 | 24 h 52 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Toronto. The Blue Jays took a 2-1 series lead with a 6-4 win in Game 2 in the Bronx, and they look good as the underdog in the series finale Thursday. Kevin Gausman will toe the slab for Toronto, and he was dealing last season. He went 14-6 with a 2,81 ERA in 33 starts for San Francisco. If you think pitching in the Giants pitcher friendly park had something to do with it, think again. He was 8-2 with a 2.33 ERA in 19 starts on the road. The Yankees hand the ball to Luis Severino, who is coming back from a tough battle with injuries. He only last three innings, allowing a pair of runs on five hits versus Boston in his season debut. Vladdy Jr. is coming off a three home run performance in Game 3, and the Jays have won five of their last six in the Bronx. GL, Jesse Schule
04-13-22 | Mariners -110 v. White Sox | 4-6 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 36 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Seattle.
04-13-22 | Hornets v. Hawks -180 | 103-132 | Win | 100 | 54 h 11 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Atlanta. The Hawks host the Charlotte Hornets in the play-in game Wednesday, and home court advantage should be key in this game. The Hawks are 6-0 ATS in their last six games as a favorite, and they are 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games as a home favorite. Atlanta had as many home wins as the Milwaukee Bucks (27) during the regular season. Trae Young finished the season strong, averaging 31 points per game in his last five starts. He averaged four points more at home than he does on the road. The Hornets will miss Gordon Hayward, and wiithout him it will be tough to keep up with high scoring Hawks in Atlanta. GL, Jesse Schule
04-12-22 | Astros -130 v. Diamondbacks | Top | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 23 h 19 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Houston. The Astros are off to a hot start, winning three of four in LA. They will be a favorite in Game 1 in Arizona, but I think the price should be far higher. Madison Bumgarner will toe the slab for the D'Backs, and he didn't look sharp in his season debut. He only went three innings, allowing one run on a hit and four walks in a no decision versus San Diego. The Astros hand the ball to Luis Garcia, who was stellar in his rookie season. He was 11-8 with a 3.30 ERA in 30 starts last year. He looked sharp in the Spring, tossing 5 2/3 scoreless innings and striking out six in his only start. The Diamondbacks are 5-14 in their last 19 home games, and they are 18-40 in their last 58 games as a home underdog. GL, Jesse Schule
04-12-22 | Clippers +140 v. Wolves | 104-109 | Loss | -100 | 33 h 8 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Clippers. Normally I would take a look at stats and trends in my analysis, but in the case of the Clippers the numbers don't seem all that relevant. Norman Powell (they call him Playoff Powell in Toronto) missed all but two games in the second half of the season, and since his return he's averaged 22 points and the Clippers won both games. Paul George only played in five games after the All Star break, but he's ready to go for the playoffs. Veteran forward Marcus Morris has also missed a significant portion of the season. but he's also healthy in time for the playoffs. Minnesota has enjoyed success in the regular season, but I am reminded of Jimmy Butler's final days in Minnesota. In his final practice with the team he told Karl Anthony Towns that he was "as soft as a baby's sh#t". Jimmy has since backed up his talk, but the verdict is still out on KAT and the rest of the T-Pups. I'll take the more experienced Clippers as a dog. GL, Jesse Schule |
