06-07-21 | Jets v. Canadiens -150 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 19 h 15 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Montreal. I had the Habs in Game 2, and here is what I said before the game: "The Habs dominated Game 1 of this series, and much of the credit will go to Carey Price who stopped 27-of-30 shots. Price is the best goaltender in the world, and he did steal a few games in the series versus Toronto. A convincing win for Montreal was overshadowed by an injury to rookie Jake Evans, which resulted in a suspension for Mark Scheifele. The Jets could have a hard time replacing their leading scorer. The Jets are 0-6 in their last six playoff games as a favorite, while the Habs have won four straight as an underdog. I think the bookmakers have the wrong team favored here in Game 2." No Schiefele, no answer for Carey Price, the Jets have no hope heading into Game 4. GL, Jesse Schule

06-06-21 | Astros v. Blue Jays OVER 9.5 | 6-3 | Loss | -102 | 10 h 18 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Over. The Blue Jays have split the first two games of this home series versus Houston, and we could expect a slugfest in the rubber match. Stephen Matz will toe the slab for Toronto, and he's been pretty inconsistent this season. Matz (6-2, 4.22 ERA) allowed four runs on four hits over five innings in a no decision versus Cleveland his last time out. The Astros hand the ball to Luis Garcia, who has been on a bit of a roll. His split stats suggest he's far better at home (2.10 ERA) than he is on the road (4.34 ERA). The over is 9-1-1 in the Astros last 11 road games, and the over is 10-1-1 in their last 12 versus left handed starters. GL, Jesse Schule
06-06-21 | Hawks +2.5 v. 76ers | 128-124 | Win | 100 | 58 h 43 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Atlanta. The Sixers managed to get past Washington in five games, even as Joel Embiid sat on the bench in Game 5. Embiid is officially listed as day to day, but a torn meniscus is expected to keep him out of Game 1. Philly won 77 percent of their games with Joel Embiid in the lineup this season, but had a losing record (10-11) in games that he missed. The Hawks won their first rounds series versus New York in five games, winning twice on the road. They closed out the series with a 103-89 win at The Garden in Game 5. The Hawks are 14-6 ATS in the last 20 meetings, and they are 6-1 ATS in their last seven overall. Without Embiid there is no doubt that Tre Young is going to be the best player on the floor in Game 1. GL, Jesse Schule
06-05-21 | Cubs v. Giants -173 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 17 h 23 m | Show
This is an 8* play on SF. The Giants are back in first place in the NL West, and they are looking to make it three straight wins in this home series versus the Cubs. Kevin Gausman will toe the slab for the Giants, and he's having a stellar season so far. Gausman (6-0, 1.40 ERA) tossed six scoreless innings in a home win over the Dogers his last time out. The Cubs hand the ball to a 26 year old righthander who looked good in his only start this year. Kohl Stewart is 5-3 with a 4.53 ERA in seven career starts. The Giants are 20-6 in their last 26 games as a home favorite. GL, Jesse Schule
06-05-21 | Hurricanes +1.5 v. Lightning | 4-6 | Loss | -188 | 29 h 4 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Canes +1.5. I had Carolina in Game 3, and here is what I said prior to the game: "Tampa appears to be in full control of this series, heading home with a 2-0 series lead after back to back wins in Carolina. Both the first two games of this series ended with the same score, Tampa winning 2-1. Four of the last five head to head meetings between these teams have been decided by just one goal." Given that every game in this series has been decided by one goal, I feel comfortable taking the underdog on the puckline in Game 4. GL, Jesse Schule
06-05-21 | Marlins -142 v. Pirates | 7-8 | Loss | -142 | 21 h 41 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Miami. The Marlins have lost seven straight, but they look good as a favorite here in Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon. Trevor Rogers will toe the slab for Miami, and he's having a stellar season so far. Rogers (6-3, 1.87 ERA) allowed two runs on nine hits over six innings in a loss at Boston his last time out. The Pirates hand the ball to Chase DeJong, who was solid in his season debut. The 27 year old has a career record of 1-5 with a 6.67 ERA. The Pirates rank 29th in the major leagues in runs scored. GL, Jesse Schule

06-04-21 | Twins v. Royals -116 | 5-14 | Win | 100 | 10 h 31 m | Show
The Royals have won four straight, and three of their last four versus Minnesota. They are just a slight favorite tonight, and I expect them to punish a struggling Twins pitcher. Matt Shoemaker will toe the slab for the Twins, and he hasn't missed many bats this season. Shoemaker (2-6, 5.90 ERA) has faced the Royals twice this year, going 0-2 with a 15.26 ERA in those games. The Royals hand the ball to Brad Keller, who is coming off a win at Minnesota in his last start. He was far from perfect, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks in five innings. The Royals are batting .318 over a combined 69 at bats in previous meetings versus Shoemaker. GL, Jesse Schule
06-04-21 | Twins v. Royals OVER 9.5 | 5-14 | Win | 100 | 6 h 57 m | Show

06-03-21 | Hurricanes +1.5 v. Lightning | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 22 h 1 m | Show

06-02-21 | Golden Knights +1.5 v. Avalanche | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 8 h 8 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Golden Knights. After a big win in Game 7 versus Minnesota, the Knights suffered a big let down in Game 1 at Colorado. Robin Lehner got the start in Game 1, presumably to give #1 goaltender Marc Andre Fleury a night off after a taxing seven game series. We should expect to see Fleury back between the pipes tonight in Game 2. Fleury was named a Vezina finalist for the first time in his 17 year career this season. These teams split the season series, each team winning four games. Five of those games were decided by just one goal. While Colorado deserves to be the favorite, this isn't likely to be an easy game. GL, Jesse Schule
06-02-21 | Mets v. Diamondbacks OVER 8 | 7-6 | Win | 100 | 2 h 36 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Over. The D'Backs have lost six of eight on their current home stand, and six of those eight games went over the total. All eight games saw at least eight runs scored. Madison Bumgarner will toe the slab for Arizona, and he's had an up and down season. Bumgarner (4-5, 5.15 ERA) has allowed 14 runs on 15 hits over 10 innings in his last two appearances. The Mets hand the ball to David Peterson, who hasn't missed many bats lately. Peterson (1-4, 4.91 ERA) allowed three runs on five hits and three walks over six innings in a home loss to the Rockies his last time out. The over is 9-4 in Diamondbacks last 13 games as a home favorite. GL, Jesse Schule
06-01-21 | Blazers v. Nuggets -115 | 140-147 | Win | 100 | 19 h 10 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Denver. The Nuggets were brutal in Game 4, losing 115-95 despite Damian Lillard only shooting 1-of-10 from the field. Norm Powell picked up the slack, scoring a game high 29 points. Depending on Powell to do that again in Game 5 might not be a winning formula for the Blazers. I expect Denver to be much better at home here than they were in Portland in Game 4. The Nuggets are 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight Conference Quarterfinals games. The Trail Blazers are 16-34-2 ATS in their last 52 Conference Quarterfinals games. The Joker is the MVP, and I expect him to play like it tonight. GL, Jesse Schule
06-01-21 | White Sox v. Indians -137 | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 16 h 17 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Cleveland. The Indians have split the first two games of this home series versus Chicago, and I like Cleveland in the rubber match Tuesday. Shane Beiber will toe the slab for the Tribe, and he's coming off a dominant performance. Beiber (5-3, 3.13 ERA) allowed one run on one hit, striking out a dozen in seven innings in a win at Detroit. The Sox will hand the ball to Dylan Cease, who has been far better at home than he has been on the road. He's 1-1 with a 4.58 ERA in four starts on the road. This will be the third time Bieber faces the Sox this season, and he's 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA in the previous two starts. GL, Jesse Schule
05-31-21 | Canadiens +1.5 v. Maple Leafs | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 6 h 50 m | Show
This is an 8* play on MTL +1.5. I had the Habs in Game 6, and here is what I had to say prior to the game: "The Habs survived with an overtime win in Toronto in Game 5, and they will look to force a Game 7 with another win on home ice tonight. Carey Price has carried this team, and he's going to need to be great again in Game 6. The Habs are playing with house money, and the pressure is all on Toronto. Four of the last six head to head meetings have been decided by just one goal, and another close game should be expected tonight." Another OT game feels inevitable. GL, Jesse Schule
05-30-21 | Clippers -135 v. Mavs | Top | 106-81 | Win | 100 | 31 h 2 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Clippers. I bet on the Clippers to win the West, so needless to say I didn't expect them to be down 0-2 in this series versus Dallas. So now I have to figure out where I went wrong? Well there are two things that stand out, one that I should have considered, and another woud have been impossible to predict. I noted that Paul George really looked like he was on top of his game heading into the playoffs, but the fact is that this isn't the first time we've seen him struggle in the post-season. He's forcing up some pretty questionable shots for a guy that currently can't hit the broadside of a barn. The Mavs three-point shooting (roughly 50 percent in the series so far) isn't something that anyone could have predicted. They can't maintain that percentage forever, and eventually those shots will stat rimming out and falling short. Paul George simply needs to be realistic about who he is, and try to be more like Ben Simmons and less like Michael Jordan. At the end of the day, I still think Kawhi is the best player in this series, and I expect LA to run the table now that they have seized the momentum. GL, Jesse Schule
05-30-21 | Golden Knights +1.5 v. Avalanche | 1-7 | Loss | -160 | 17 h 9 m | Show
This is an 8* play on VGK. The Avs swept the Blues in the first round, and have since been sitting on the shelf waiting for their next opponent. Vegas is coming off a hard fought seven game series versus Minnesota, and they come in battle tested. These teams split the season series, each team winning four games. Five of those games were decided by just one goal. While Colorado deserves to be the favorite, this isn't likely to be an easy game. GL, Jesse Schule
05-30-21 | Rangers v. Mariners -155 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 13 h 1 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Seattle. The Mariners have three straight in this home series versus Texas, and they look good to complete the sweep Sunday. Yusei Kikuchi will toe the slab for Seattle, and he's coming off a win. Kikuchi (2-3, 4.02 ERA) allowed one run on four hits over six innings in a win over Oakland his last time out. The Rangers hand the ball to Hyeon-Jong Yang, who makes his fourth start. He allowed seven runs on five hits and three walks over 3 1/3 innings in a loss to LA his last time out. The Rangers are 4-12 in their last 16 games as an underdog. GL, Jesse Schule
05-30-21 | Angels v. A's -145 | 4-2 | Loss | -145 | 13 h 58 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Oakland. The A's have won two of three in this home series versus LA, and they look good in Game 4 Sunday. Jose Quintana will toe the slab for LA, and he hasn't missed many bats this season. Quintana (0-3, 7.92 ERA) allowed three runs on six hits over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to Oakland his last time out. The A's hand the ball to Cole Irvin, who is having a solid rookie season. The Angels are 17-38 in their last 55 games as a road underdog. GL, Jesse Schule
05-29-21 | Cardinals v. Diamondbacks OVER 9.5 | 7-4 | Win | 100 | 18 h 36 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Over. Arizona has lost 12 straight, and they rank 30th in the majors in BAA. I expect a high score as they host St. Louis tonight. Adam Wainwright will toe the slab for St. Louis, and he's been hammered on the road. Wainwright (2-4, 3.95 ERA) allowed six runs on eight hits and three walks in just four innings in a loss to San Diego in his last road start. The D'Backs hand the ball to Seth Frankoff, who is making his third start of the season. He allowed seven run on 10 hits over 8 2/3 innings in his previous two starts. The over is 14-5 in the Diamondbacks last 19 after scoring five runs or more in their previous game. GL, Jesse Schule
05-29-21 | Maple Leafs v. Canadiens +1.5 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 17 h 55 m | Show
This is a 5* play on MTL +1.5. The Habs survived with an overtime win in Toronto in Game 5, and they will look to force a Game 7 with another win on home ice tonight. Carey Price has carried this team, and he's going to need to be great again in Game 6. The Habs are playing with house money, and the pressure is all on Toronto. 05-29-21 | Nuggets +4 v. Blazers | 95-115 | Loss | -101 | 13 h 17 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Denver. I had Denver in Game 2, and here is what I said prior to the game: "The Blazers won big in Game 1 of this series, and we have to decide if that's a preview of what to expect moving forward in this series, or if it was an outlier. I am inclined to say it's likely the later. Portland made 19-of-40 three-point shots in Game 1, and they made 18-of-19 at the free throw line. Denver only made eight free thrown attempts in Game 1, and we should not expect such a disparity here moving forward. The Joker scored a solid 34 points on 14-of-27 shooting in Game 1, and he is likely to have an even better performance in Game 2." The Nuggets come rolling into Portland as an underdog, but they have all the momentum. I'll take the points. GL, Jesse Schule
05-28-21 | Rangers v. Mariners OVER 8.5 | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 20 h 31 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Over. The Mariners host Texas in Game 2 of a home series Friday, and I expect a slugfest here. Justus Sheffield will toe the slab for Seattle, and he got roughed up in his last start versus Texas. He allowed seven runs on 10 hits over five innings in a 10-2 loss to Texas a few weeks ago. The Rangers hand the ball to Jordan Lyles, who hasn't missed many bats this season. Lyles (2-3, 5.94 ERA) is 0-2 with a 9.39 ERA in his last three starts against the Mariners. These teams have gone over in four of the last five head to head meetings. GL, Jesse Schule
05-28-21 | Clippers -132 v. Mavs | 118-108 | Win | 100 | 19 h 5 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Clippers. I bet on the Clippers to win the West, so needless to say I didn't expect them to be down 0-2 in this series versus Dallas. So now I have to figure out where I went wrong? Well there are two things that stand out, one that I should have considered, and another woud have been impossible to predict. 05-28-21 | Wild +1.5 v. Golden Knights | 2-6 | Loss | -180 | 18 h 28 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Minnesota +1.5. The Vegas Golden Knights appeared to be in the driver's seat with a 3-1 series lead heading into Game 5. After back to back losses they are back home for a "winner takes all" Game 7. The pressure sits squarely on the home favorite here, and Vegas has a history of struggling in elimination games. They also have a history of struggling against Minnesota. The Wild have won four of their last five at Vegas, and six of the last eight head to head meetings. Expect this game to be close, possibly another OT thriller. GL, Jesse Schule
05-27-21 | Nuggets +4 v. Blazers | 120-115 | Win | 100 | 31 h 12 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Denver. 05-27-21 | Hurricanes v. Predators +1.5 | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 19 h 50 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Nashville. The Predators face elimination in Game 6 tonight, but I expect them to force a Game 7. The home team has won all five game in this series, and the Predators are 13-3 in their last 16 home games. The Predators are 4-0 in their last four games as a home underdog, and the home team is 11-0 in the last 11 meetings. The Hurricanes are 0-4 in their last four games as a road favorite. GL, Jesse Schule
05-27-21 | Padres v. Brewers UNDER 8.5 | 5-6 | Loss | -120 | 13 h 10 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Under. The Brewers host the Padres in a matinee at Miller Park Thursday, and I am expecting a pitcher's duel. Ryan Weathers will toe the slab for San Diego, and the rookie has been dealing in his first five starts. Weathers (2-1, 1.48 ERA) allowed one run on six hits in four innings in a home win over Seattle his last time out. The Brewers hand the ball to Adrian Houser, who has been solid this season. Houser (3-5, 4.53 ERA) allowed a pair of run on two hits in three innings in a loss to Atlanta in his last home start. The under is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings. GL, Jesse Schule
05-26-21 | Golden Knights -123 v. Wild | 0-3 | Loss | -123 | 9 h 58 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the VGK. Vegas dominated play in Game 1 of this series, but managed to lose 1-0 in overtime. The Knights then won the next three games, all in blowout fashion. They failed to close out the Wild in Game 5, but they should take care of business here in Game 6. The Golden Knights are 19-7 in their last 26 road games, and they are 40-14 in their last 54 games as a favorite. The Wild are 11-27 in their last 38 playoff games as an underdog, and they just don't match up well against Vegas. GL, Jesse Schule
05-26-21 | Wizards v. 76ers OVER 229 | 95-120 | Loss | -112 | 7 h 54 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Over. The Washington Wizards went on a tear in the second half of the season to sneak into the playoffs, but strong and responsible play on defense didn't have much to do with their success. They finished the regular season ranking dead last in scoring defense, allowing over 120 points per game. They didn't look great defensively in Game 1, and they were actually quite fortunate that Philly didn't have a particularly good game shooting the ball. The Sixers made 10 three-pointers in Game 1, and I expect them to improve on that number in Game 2. The over is 6-1 in the Wizards last seven road games, and they have gone over in seven of their last 10 overall. The over is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings in Philadelphia. GL, Jesse Schule
05-26-21 | Cardinals v. White Sox UNDER 8.5 | 4-0 | Win | 100 | 17 h 29 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Under. The White Sox are looking to break out the brooms in Game 3 of this series versus St. Louis, and I expect a pitcher's duel this afternoon. Carlos Rodon will toe the slab for Chicago, and he's having a Cy Young worthy season so far. Rodon (5-1, 1.27 ERA) tossed six scoreless innings allowing two hits and striking out a baker's dozen his last time out. The Cardinals will hand the ball to Jon Gant, who has been very solid himself. Gant (3-3, 2.04 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on five hits in 5 1/3 innings in a home win over the Pirates his last time out. The under is 20-6-1 in Cardinals last 27 interleague road games. GL, Jesse Schule
05-25-21 | Mavs v. Clippers -6 | 127-121 | Loss | -111 | 22 h 53 m | Show

05-25-21 | Predators +1.5 v. Hurricanes | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 17 h 33 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Preds +1.5. The Nashville Predators are back in the series coming off back to back home wins in Games 3-4. They head back to Carolina for Game 5, and I am expecting this to be a close game that could go either way. Each of the last two games were decided in overtime, and I wouldn't be surprised to see another overtime game tonight. GL, Jesse Schule
05-25-21 | Reds v. Nationals -163 | 2-1 | Loss | -163 | 18 h 39 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Washington. The Nationals have won four of their last five overall, and they look good in Game 1 of this home series versus Cincinnati. Max Scherzer will toe the slab for the Nats, and he's coming off back to back wins. Scherzer (4-2, 2.24 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on five hits, srtriking out eight in five innings in a win over the Cubs his last time out. The Reds hand the ball to Tyler Mahle, who struggled in his last start. Mahle (2-2, 4.20 ERA) allowed seven runs on seven hits in just two innings in a home loss to the Giants his last time out. The Reds are 3-9 in their last 12 games as a road underdog. GL, Jesse Schule
05-24-21 | Blazers v. Nuggets -114 | 109-128 | Win | 100 | 21 h 48 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Denver. The Blazers won big in Game 1 of this series, and we have to decide if that's a preview of what to expect moving forward in this series, or if it was an outlier. I am inclined to say it's likely the later. Portland made 19-of-40 three-point shots in Game 1, and they made 18-of-19 at the free throw line. Denver only made eight free thrown attempts in Game 1, and we should not expect such a disparity here moving forward. The Joker scored a solid 34 points on 14-of-27 shooting in Game 1, and he is likely to have an even better performance in Game 2. GL, Jesse Schule
05-24-21 | Mariners v. A's -155 | 4-2 | Loss | -155 | 20 h 8 m | Show
This is a 5* play on NYI +1.5. This series between Pittsburgh and New York couldn't be any closer. We head into Game 5 in Pittsburgh with the series tied 2-2, and three of the first four games decided by just one goal. The Islanders are coming off a convincing 4-1 win at home in Game 4, and they have the momentum in their favor. The Penguins are 3-9 in their last 12 playoff games as a favorite, and goaltending has been an issue for Pittsburgh in this series. Ilya Sorokin is the hot netminder in this series, with a record of 2-0 and a 1.76 GAA. He stopped 29-of-30 shots in a Game 4 victory. GL, Jesse Schule
05-24-21 | Islanders +1.5 v. Penguins | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 18 h 37 m | Show
This is a 5* play on NYI +1.5.
05-23-21 | Avalanche -1.5 v. Blues | 5-2 | Win | 117 | 21 h 5 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Avs -1.5. Colorado finished with the best record in the NHL during the regular season, and the Avs are the favorite to win the Stanley Cup. They are on the verge of sweeping the St. Louis Blues, and we might not see a lot of push back from the Blues here in Game 4. The Avs have outscored St. Louis a combined 15-5 in the first three games. The Blues have missed leading scorer David Perron who has been sidelined with Covid. The Blues are 0-5 in their last five playoff games as an underdog. GL, Jesse Schule
05-23-21 | Dodgers v. Giants +1.5 | 11-5 | Loss | -149 | 20 h 15 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Giants +1.5. The Giants have fallen out of first place in the NL West after back to back losses to the Dodgers. I like San Fran as a home dog in Game 3 Sunday. Anthony Desclafani will toe the slab for San Francisco, and he's been dealing in 2021. Desclafani (4-1, 2.03 ERA) allowed one run on seven hits, striking out seven in seven innings in a win over the Reds his last time out. The Dodgers hand the ball to Julio Urias, who got hit pretty hard in his last start on the road. He allowed five runs on eight hits in five innings in a loss to the Angels. The Giants have won four straight home games against left handed starters. GL, Jesse Schule
05-23-21 | Wizards v. 76ers -7.5 | 118-125 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 6 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Sixers. Despite finishing first in the East during the regular season, the Sixers aren't getting a lot of respect from bookmakers. They will play the Wizards in the first round, and this should be a fairly easy series for them. Washington played incredible down the stretch, but Russell Westbrook gave us a preview of what to expect in the playoffs when he laid an egg in the first play-in game. The Wizards are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Conference Quarterfinals games, and they are 1-8 ATS in their last nine playoff games as an underdog. GL, Jesse Schule
05-22-21 | Canadiens +1.5 v. Maple Leafs | 1-5 | Loss | -160 | 17 h 12 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Habs +1.5. Carey Price stopped 35 of 36 shots in a brilliant performance in Game 1 of this first round series versus Toronto. Maple Leafs captain John Tavares was stretchered off the ice and taken to hospital with a head injury, and he remains out of the lineup for Game 2. A close game in the series opener was no surprise, as three of the last four meetings between these teams were decided by just one goal. Toronto has the better team on paper, but that might not matter if Carey Price plays like we all know he's capable of. GL, Jesse Schule.
05-22-21 | Mavs v. Clippers -4.5 | Top | 113-103 | Loss | -110 | 63 h 19 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Clippers. The Western Conference is wide open heading into the playoffs. The defending champion LA Lakers are still the favorite, despite facing a play-in situation versus the red hot Golden State Warriors. Steph Curry has played at an MVP caliber all season long, while LeBron has been in and out of the lineup, and doesn't appear to be 100 percent healthy. The Utah Jazz finished first in the standings, and the Phoenix Suns were only one game back. Neither of those teams is getting much respect from bookmakers, who give them the third and fourth best chance to win the West. The media was buzzing when LeBron James was quoted a few weeks ago as saying: "I don't think i'll ever get back to 100% in my career." While I believe that was mostly clickbait, I do think he's already looking for an excuse if he fails to get out of the first round, or gets bounced by the Warriors in the play-in. The Clippers are guilty of tanking in their final few games, a strategic move to avoid facing the Lakers until the Western Conference Final. Kawhi Leonard has had a pretty quiet season, but he has a history of elevating his game in the playoffs. He's also been perhaps the only player in the league to get the better of LeBron James. GL, Jesse Schule
05-22-21 | Twins v. Indians -168 | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 15 h 52 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Cleveland. The Indians host the Twins on Saturday, looking to bounce back from a 10-0 loss in Game 1 Friday. Shane Beiber will toe the slab for The Tribe, and he's coming off a loss in his last start. He's been better at home, going 1-1 with a 2.70 ERA in three starts. The Twins hand the ball to Kenta Maeda, who is coming off back to back rough outings. He allowed a combined eight runs on 12 hits over nine innings losing to Oakland and Chicago. The Twins are 2-9 in their last 11 games as an underdog. GL, Jesse Schule
05-22-21 | Pirates v. Braves OVER 9.5 | 1-6 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 31 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Over. The Braves scored 20 runs in Game 2 of this home series versus Pittsburgh, and we might expect another slugfest Saturday. Mitch Keller will toe the slab for Atlanta, and he hasn't missed many bats lately. Keller (2-5, 7.16 ERA) has allowed nine runs on 13 hits over 8 1/3 innings in losses to the Giants and Reds in his last two starts. The Braves hand the ball to Bryse Wilson, and he's lost his last three starts. He's 0-2 with a 6.23 ERA in three home starts. The over is 6-0 in the Pirates last six visits to Atlanta. GL, Jesse Schule
05-21-21 | Dodgers v. Giants +1.5 | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 25 h 44 m | Show
This is an 8* play on San Francisco. The Giants are still in first place in the NL West, and they have a home record of 14-4. They will be a home underdog against a Dodgers team that is just 10-12 on the road. Alex Wood will toe the slab for San Francisco, and he's been dealing in 2021. Wood (5-0, 1.75 ERA) allowed one run on eight hits, striking out six in six innings in a win over Pittsburgh his last time out. The Dodgers hand the ball to Trevor Bauer, who has lost his last three starts on the road. Bauer (4-2, 2.20 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on four hits and two walks in six innings in a loss to the Angels in his last start on the road. The Dodgers have lost five straight when Bauer starts as a road favorite. GL, Jesse Schule
05-21-21 | Jets +1.5 v. Oilers | 1-0 | Win | 100 | 32 h 54 m | Show
This is a 5* play on WPG +1.5. The Jets faded down the stretch, and they come into this playoff series versus Edmonton as losers of six straight head to head meetings. You don't have to go too far back though to when these teams were neck and neck, fighting for second place in the North Division. I wouldn't count out this Winnipeg team that has gone deep into the playoffs in recent seasons. Edmonton has the superstar in Connor McDavid, but the Jets have the goaltending, the grit and the toughness to make this a competitive series. GL, Jesse Schule
05-21-21 | Grizzlies v. Warriors -162 | 117-112 | Loss | -162 | 24 h 2 m | Show
This is an 8* play on GSW. The Warriors host the Grizzlies in a winner takes all elimination game, and it's hard to imagine Golden State coming up short at home here. They looked great against the Lakers, especially in the first half. Steph Curry scored 37 points, and shot 6-of-9 from beyond the arc. The Grizzlies played well down the stretch, putting themselves in position to get to a play-in. The did lose 113-101 at Golden State in their final game of the regular season. They had no answer for Curry, who scored 46 points and hit nine three-pointers in the win. The Warriors are 6-0 ATS in their last six games overall, and they have covered in six straight at home. GL, Jesse Schule
05-20-21 | Penguins +1.5 v. Islanders | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 15 h 50 m | Show
This is a 2* play on the Pens +1.5. You don't want to pay the big price to back the puckline dog all the time, but I will make an exception here getting the #1 seed Penguins as the ATS underdog. The Pens have won seven of their last 10 versus the Islanders outright, and seven of those games were decided by just one goal. Evgeni Malkin will travel with the team, and is expected to be back in the lineup for Game 3. The Penguins are 7-2 in their last nine road games, and the Islanders are 2-6 in their last eight games as a favorite. Sidney Crosby was pretty quiet in Game 2, and played limited minutes. I expect him to make an impact tonight. GL, Jesse Schule
05-20-21 | Marlins v. Phillies -113 | 6-0 | Loss | -113 | 14 h 29 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Philly. At first glance it might make sense that Philly is just a slight favorite at home versus Miami. The Philies are just one game over .500, just two and half games ahead of the Marlins in the standings. The starting pitchers seem to have similar numbers, until you look at their splits. Vince Velasquez in undefeated at home, while Sandy Alcantara is 1-2 with a 6.86 ERA in four starts on the road. The Marlins are 3-8 in their last 11 road games, while the Phillies are 5-1 in their last six home games. The Phillies are 9-3 in their last 12 games following a loss. GL, Jesse Schule
05-20-21 | Rays -152 v. Orioles | 10-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 28 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Tampa. The Rays have won six straight, and yet they are just a small favorite in Game 3 in Baltimore. The price is right to back the Rays to break out the brooms. Rich Hill will toe the rubber for the Rays, and he hasn't allowed a single run in his last three starts. He has tossed 15 2/3 scoreless innings allowing just six hits during that span. The Orioles will hand the ball to Dean Kremer, who is still looking for his first home win. He's 0-2 with a 7.79 ERA in four home starts in 2021. The Rays are 11-3 in their last 14 road games. GL, Jesse Schule
05-19-21 | Warriors +5 v. Lakers | 100-103 | Win | 100 | 43 h 48 m | Show
This is a 5* play on GSW. GL, Jesse Schule
05-19-21 | Jets +1.5 v. Oilers | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 26 m | Show
This is a free play on WPG +1.5.
05-19-21 | Indians v. Angels -119 | 3-2 | Loss | -119 | 8 h 26 m | Show
This is an 8* play on LAA. The Angels have split the first two games of this home series versus Cleveland, but I like them in the rubber match Wednesday. Shohei Ohtani will toe the slab for LA, and he's been getting it done at the plate as well as on the mound. He allowed one run on four hits while striking out 10 in seven innings in a no decision versus Houston his last time out. The Indians hand the ball to Aaron Civale, who is coming off a poor performance. Civale (5-1, 3.40 ERA) allowed five runs on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings in a loss to Seattle his last time out. The Indians are 6-14 in their last 20 road games with the total set at 6.5 or lower. GL, Jesse Schule
05-19-21 | Capitals +1.5 v. Bruins | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 7 h 56 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Washington +1.5. The Bruins now have home ice advantage after earning a split in the first two games of the series. Both Game 1 and Game 2 were decided by one goal, and I like the Capitals as the underdog in Game 3. The Capitals are 17-5 in their last 22 road games, so the line favoring the Bruins as a heavy home favorite makes little sense. The Bruins are 4-10 in their last 14 playoff games as a favorite. Don't be surprised to see another overtime game here. GL, Jesse Schule
05-18-21 | Tigers v. Mariners -117 | 5-0 | Loss | -117 | 21 h 54 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Seattle. After winning three of four in a home series versus Cleveland, the Mariners lost Game 1 at home versus Detroit. I like the Mariners to bounce back tonight. Justin Dunn will toe the slab for the Mariners, and he's been solid so far. Dunn (1-1, 3.72 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on three hits in 3 1/3 innings in a loss at LA his last time out. His numbers at home are far better than they are on the road. The Tigers hand the ball to Spencer Turnbull, who has struggled on the road. Turnbull (2-2, 3.91 ERA) is 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA on the road in 2021. The Tigers are 7-19 in the last 26 meetings in Seattle. GL, Jesse Schule
05-18-21 | Wild v. Golden Knights -159 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 21 h 13 m | Show
This is an 8* play on VGK. The Golden Knights were on the wrong side of a low scoring Game 1, that was scoreless in regulation. They looked like the better team, but failed to take advantage of their chances. They dominated shots on goal, faceoffs, and they had more power play opportunities. Expect Vegas to come out flying in Game 2, with a far greater sense of urgency. The Wild are 4-10 in their last 14 playoff games as an underdog. Minnesota is likely to struggle to match the Knights here in a must win game for Vegas. GL, Jesse Schule
05-18-21 | Red Sox v. Blue Jays OVER 9 | 0-8 | Loss | -105 | 16 h 29 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Over The Blue Jays host the Red Sox tonight, and we should expect a slugfest. Hyun Jin Ryu will toe the slab for Toronto, and he's struggled against the Red Sox. Ryu (3-2, 2.95 ERA) has been great overall for the Jays, just not against Boston. He allowed four runs on eight hits in five innings losing to the Sox a few weeks ago. Boston will hand the ball to Eduardo Rodriguez, who has lost two of his last three starts. He allowed four runs on seven hits in six innings in a loss to Oakland his last time out. The over is 6-1-1 in the Blue Jays last eight games as a home favorite. GL, Jesse Schule
05-18-21 | Giants +1.5 v. Reds | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 17 h 25 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Giants +1.5. The Giants are still in first place in the NL West, and they look good as an underdog today in Cincinnati. Luis Castillo will toe the slab for Cincinnati, and he's been downright terrible this season. The Reds "Ace" has allowed 14 runs on 15 hits and four walks over 7 2/3 innings in his last two starts. The Giants hand the ball to Anthony Desclafani, who has been dealing in 2021. Desclafani (3-1, 2.14 ERA) tossed five scoreless innings surrendering just one hit in a win over Pittsburgh his last time out. The Reds are 3-7 in their last 10 home games. GL, Jesse Schule
05-17-21 | Predators v. Hurricanes UNDER 5.5 | 2-5 | Loss | -128 | 7 h 46 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Under. The Canes host the Preds in Game 1 of a first round playoff series on Monday, and history tells us we might expect a low score here. Only once in the last 10 meetings between these teams did they go over the listed total. The under is 5-1 in the Predators last six games as an underdog, and they have failed to reach the total in four of their last five playoff games as an underdog. The under is 6-2 in the Hurricanes last eight home games, and they have gone under in four straight post-season home games as a favorite. GL, Jesse Schule
05-16-21 | Lightning -115 v. Panthers | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 21 m | Show
This is an 8* play on TB. The defending champs will open the playoffs on the road in Florida, but they will be the favorite in this game. The Panthers are 3-7 in their last 10 games as a home underdog, and they have lost six of their last seven playoff games as an underdog. Steven Stamkos and Victor Hedman are expected to play in Game 1 despite missing time with injuries at the end of the regular season. Stamkos scored 17 goals and 17 assists in 38 games during the regular season, but when healthy he's still one of the league's most dangerous scorers. GL, Jesse Schule
05-16-21 | Angels v. Red Sox -134 | 6-5 | Loss | -134 | 3 h 2 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Boston. The Red Sox are looking to break out the brooms in Game 3 of this home series versus LA Sunday, and they rank #1 overall in scoring so far this season. Nathan Eovaldi will toe the slab for the Sox, and he's been dealing. He allowed just one run on two hits over six innings in a no decision versus Oakland his last time out. The Angels hand the ball to Jose Quintana, who is still looking for his first win. Quintana (0-3, 9.00 ERA) allowed five runs on six hits and two walks in 3 1/3 innings in a loss at Texas in his last road start. He's 0-2 with an ERA of 18.00 on the road this season. GL, Jesse Schule
05-16-21 | Phillies v. Blue Jays -181 | 8-10 | Win | 100 | 3 h 11 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Toronto Blue Jays. After splitting the first two games of a home series versus Philly, the Jays look good in the rubber match Sunday. Robbie Ray will toe the slab for Toronto, and he's coming off back to back big wins. Ray (1-1, 3.38 ERA) allowed six runs on 11 hits, striking out 19 batters in a dozen innings in wins over Atlanta and Oakland. The Phillies hand the ball to Chase Anderson, who has been hit hard on the road. He's 1-1 with a 7.11 ERA in three starts on the road this season. The Phillies are 5-13 in the last 18 meetings in Toronto. GL, Jesse Schule
05-16-21 | Islanders v. Penguins -134 | 4-3 | Loss | -134 | 2 h 28 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Penguins. The Islanders have faded down the stretch, losing seven of their final 10 games of the regular season. They face the Penguins on the road in Game 1 of a first round series on Sunday, and the home team has won five of the last six head to head meetings. The Islanders are 16-36-2 in the last 54 meetings in Pittsburgh, and the Penguins have won six of the last seven meetings overall. The Penguins are 40-13 in their last 53 games as a home favorite, and Sidney Crosby is still one of the best players in the NHL. He quietly finished 10th in the league in scoring, but appears to be primed for a big post-season. GL, Jesse Schule
05-16-21 | Michael Chandler v. Charles Oliveira UNDER 2.5 | 0-1 | Push | 0 | 15 h 17 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Under. I've got my eye on the main event in UFC 262, and we have every reason to think this fight will end early. The favorite (Michael Chandler) has seen his last four fights end in the first round. His last three losses came by way of KO, and two of those three knockouts have come in the first round. He's fought a total of 27 professional fights, and 15 of those fights ended in the first round. GL, Jesse Schule
05-15-21 | Reds v. Rockies OVER 10.5 | 6-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 3 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Over. We have seen favorable conditions for hitters at Coors Field in recent days, with a total of 36 runs scored in the first two games of this series. We might expect another slugfest tonight. Jhoulis Chacin will toe the rubber for the Rockies, and he's failed to impress coming out of the bullpen. He's allowed eight runs on 15 hits over 12 1/3 innings in six appearances so far, all out of the pen. The Reds hand the ball to Tyler Mahle, who hasn't fooled the Rockies. Colorado is batting over .400 againt him in previous meetings (39 combined at bats). The over is 15-5 in the Rockies last 20 overall. GL, Jesse Schule
05-15-21 | Royals v. White Sox -182 | 5-1 | Loss | -182 | 11 h 17 m | Show
This is a 5* play on CWS. The White Sox come into Saturday's game against Kansas City as winners of seven of eight, and they look good to keep it rolling with their ace on the mound. Carlos Rodon (5-0, 0.58 ERA) has allowed a single run, striking out 20 batters in 12 innings in his last two starts. The Royals have hit just .198 over a combined 95 at bats against Rodon. The Royals hand the ball to Mike Minor, who hasn't been missing many bats lately. Minor (2-2, 5.75 ERA) allowed five runs on four hits and two walks in five innings in a loss to Chicago his last time out. The Royals are 1-10 in their last 11 games following a loss. GL, Jesse Schule
05-15-21 | A's v. Twins -135 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 11 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Under. The Twins have been terrible in 2021, but they might be in good shape today with their ace on the mound. Jose Berrios (3-2, 3.49 ERA) allowed two runs in six hits in six innings in a loss to Detroit his last time out. He allowed one run on four hits, striking out five in five innings in a start against Oakland earlier this season. The A's hand the ball to Cole Irvin, who has looked pretty sharp in recent outings. Irvin (3-4, 3.29 ERA) allowed three earned runs on four hits over six innings in a 4-3 loss to Tampa his last time out. The under is 8-1-2 in the Athletics last 11 road games, and the under is 7-1 in their last eight meetings in Minnesota. GL, Jesse Schule
05-15-21 | A's v. Twins UNDER 8.5 | 4-5 | Loss | -106 | 8 h 9 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Under.
05-15-21 | West Ham United v. Brighton & Hove Albion OVER 2.5 | 1-1 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 22 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Over. West Ham is coming off a 1-0 loss to Everton, killing any hope of a top four finish and a spot in the Champions League next season. It's still been a successful campaign for the Hammers, currently sitting in sixth in the table. They have scored more than their fair share of goals (55 in 35 matches). They play Brighton today, and the last two meetings between these teams saw a combined 10 goals scored. Neither team is particularly strong defensively, so we could see a real cracker here on Saturday. GL, Jesse Schule

05-13-21 | Cardinals +1.5 v. Brewers | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 2 h 14 m | Show
This is a 5* play on St. Louis. The Cardinals came into Milwaukee with the best record in baseball, and they have split the first two games. I like St. Louis with their ace on the mound in the rubber match. Jack Flaherty will toe the slab for St. Louis, and he's been dealing in 2021. Flaherty (6-0, 2.83 ERA) allowed three hits over seven scoreless innings in a win over the Rockies his last time out. The Brewers hand the ball to Corbin Burnes, who has been sidelined for a few weeks due to injury. He allowed five runs on eight hits in five innings in a loss to Miami his last time out. The Cardinals are 4-1 in their last five games following a loss. GL, Jesse Schule
05-12-21 | Marlins v. Diamondbacks -131 | 3-2 | Loss | -131 | 10 h 3 m | Show
8* | |||||||
05-12-21 | Arsenal v. Chelsea OVER 2.5 | 1-0 | Loss | -100 | 14 h 45 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Over. Chelsea appears to be safely positioned in the top four, and with a couple of big matches coming up today's match versus Arsenal might be a spot where they look to rest some of their top players. The bad news for Arsenal is that Chelsea's bench players could be more talented than their starting 11. The Blues have won their last three matches by a combined score of 6-1. History tells us that these teams trend towards high scores, with each of the last five meetings going over the total. We should see history repeat itself here in today's game. GL, Jesse Schule
05-12-21 | Orioles v. Mets UNDER 8 | 1-7 | Push | 0 | 11 h 43 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Under. The Mets have won six straight, and three of four games on this home stand have gone under the total. Matt Harvey will toe the slab for the Orioles in Game 2, and he's been pretty solid this season. Harvey (3-2, 3.60 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on four hits in 5 2/3 innings in a win over Oakland in his last road start. The Mets hand the ball to Taijuan Walker, who has been lights out at home. Walker is 1-0 with a 1.56 ERA in three starts at Citi Field. The under is 9-3 in the Orioles last 12 road games, and the under is 13-3-2 in the Mets last 18 home games. GL, Jesse Schule
05-11-21 | Knicks v. Lakers -5.5 | 99-101 | Loss | -105 | 18 h 2 m | Show
This is a 10* play on LA Lakers. The Lakers were the best team in the NBA, and defending world champions before LeBron and AD suffered nagging injuries. While they have slipped all the way to seventh in the Western Conference, it would be naive to think that they are anything but the favorite to repeat. The Knicks are one of the hottest teams in the league, but I think they are biting off more than they can chew here on the road at LA with LeBron and AD both expected to play. Davis is coming off a 42 point performance in a win over Phoenix on Sunday. The Knicks won by a score of 111-96 at home against LA last month, but neither AD or LeBron played in that game. 05-11-21 | Orioles +1.5 v. Mets | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 15 h 58 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Baltimore. The Orioles will be an underdog in Game 1 in New York, and the Mets have won five straight. John Means will toe the slab for Baltimore, coming off a no hitter in his last start. Means (4-0, 1.37 ERA) has made seven starts, and the Orioles are 7-0 ATS in those games. The Mets hand the ball to Marcus Stroman, who has been hot and cold. Stroman (3-3, 2.12 ERA) allowed four runs on seven hits in five innings in a loss to St. Louis his last time out. He's lost his last three starts. The Mets have lost seven of their last 10 versus left-handed starters, and they are 1-6 in their last seven interleague games. GL, Jesse Schule
05-11-21 | Leicester v. Manchester United OVER 2.5 | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 5 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Over. Manchester United will host Leicester City in a key matchup here in the English Premier League on Tuesday. Leicester is currently holding on in the fourth spot in the table, but West Ham is still in striking distance. Their remaining games are against Man United, Chelsea and Spurs, so points could be hard to come by. Both these teams rank in the Top 3 in the Premier League in scoring, and both previous meetings this season went over the total. I expect this game to be a real cracker. GL, Jesse Schule
05-10-21 | Rangers +1.5 v. Giants | 1-3 | Loss | -174 | 5 h 46 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Texas +1.5. The Rangers will be an underdog in San Francisco tonight, and these two teams might be the biggest surprises in the majors so far. The Giants sit in first place in the NL West, while the Rangers are only three games out of first in the AL West with a record of 18-18. Kyle Gibson will toe the rubber for the Rangers, and he's been dealing in 2021. Gibson (3-0, 2.40 ERA) allowed three runs on three hits, striking out eight in eight innings in a win over the Twins his last time out. While Alex Wood comes in with similar numbers, Gibson has been far more consistent at the age of 33, and we could say that it's too small a sample size to suggest Wood is on the same level. The Rangers are 11-1 in their last 12 games versus a left-handed starter. GL, Jesse Schule
05-09-21 | Phillies v. Braves OVER 7.5 | 1-6 | Loss | -107 | 7 h 36 m | Show
This is a 5* play on Over. The Braves host the Phillies in Game 3 of a home series in Atlanta Sunday, and after Ronald Acuna was hit by a pitch yesterday he's expected to sit. This has moved the needle with bettors lining up on the Phillies and the under in the absence of one of the league's most feared hitters. Atlanta rallied in the 12th inning last night to win 8-7, scoring six runs after Acuna left the game. They face the Phillies ace tonight, but Aaron Nola has an ERA over 5.00 on the road. Huascar Ynoa will toe the slab for Atlanta, and he's won three straight starts. Ynoa (3-1, 2.36 ERA) is 2-0 with a 1.56 ERA in three home starts. The Phillies are 7-15 in the last 22 meetings in Atlanta, and the over is 5-0 in the last five head to head meetings. GL, Jesse Schule

05-08-21 | Canucks v. Oilers -1.5 | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 49 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Oilers -1.5. I had Edmonton on Thursday, and they were blown out in a home loss to the Canucks. This sets up a big revenge spot for the superior Oilers in a nationally televised game on Hockey Night in Canada. Here is what I had to say on Thursday: "The Canucks have been dealt a tough hand this season, even more so than the rest of the league. While it's been tough for everyone playing through a pandemic, Vancouver had to shut down when the entire team came down with Covid, and now they are forced to make up those games by playing almost every day. They will play their sixth game in eight days tonight in Edmonton, and to add insult to injury their first line center will not play while under investigation for sexual assault. Vancouver has lost six straight, and five straight by at least two goals. Edmonton is just six point out of first place in the North Division, so this looks like it could be another blowout." 05-08-21 | Los Angeles FC v. LA Galaxy +0.5 | 1-2 | Win | 106 | 11 h 34 m | Show
This is a 5* play on LA Galaxy. The Galaxy will be an underdog in El Trafico, despite a slow start for rivals LAFC. So far Javier Hernandez leads the league in scoring with five goals in three matches. The 2019 Golden Boot winner Carlos Vela left in the season opener for LAFC, and his status is questionable heading into tonight's match. Without him LAFC has played back to back draws against Houston and Seattle. I like the Galaxy to earn at least a draw here in this rivalry match. GL, Jesse Schule
05-08-21 | Twins v. Tigers UNDER 8 | 3-7 | Loss | -114 | 17 h 22 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Under. The Twins will be a big favorite in Detroit today, but I think the smart money is on the total. Jose Berrios will toe the slab for the Twins, and he's have a stellar season so far. Berrios (3-2, 3.58 ERA) allowed four runs on six hits with nine strikeouts in six innings in a win over the Royals his last time out. Jose Urena will toe the slab for Detroit, and despite having similar numbers to Berrios, he hasn't got the wins. That could be a lack of run support from a Tigers lineup that ranks 28th in the major leagues in scoring. The under is 8-3-1 in the last 12 head to head meetings. GL, Jesse Schule
05-08-21 | Rays -135 v. A's | 3-6 | Loss | -135 | 18 h 0 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Tampa. The Rays come into Game 2 in Oakland as winners of five of six, and they are just a small favorite with their ace on the mound. Tyler Glasnow will toe the slab for Tampa, and he's been dealing in 2021. Glasnow (4-1, 2.06 ERA) ranks third in the major leagues with 64 strikeouts so far. The A's hand the ball to Frankie Montas, who's ERA at home is twice as high as it is on the road. He allowed three runs on seven hits over six innings in a win over Toronto his last time out. The Rays are 18-8 in their last 26 games as a road favorite. GL, Jesse Schule
05-08-21 | Padres v. Giants +1.5 | 1-7 | Win | 100 | 18 h 59 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Giants +1.5. This game jumps off the page from a statistical point of view. The Giants are sitting in first place in the NL West, they have the best home record in baseball. Their starting pitcher tonight has a lower ERA than his opponent, yet the Padres come in as a road favorite. I think this creates some value with a play on the home team on the runline given an expected low scoring game. GL, Jesse Schule
05-07-21 | Padres v. Giants +1.5 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 31 m | Show

05-07-21 | Dodgers -156 v. Angels | 2-9 | Loss | -156 | 9 h 11 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Dodgers. The Dodgers were swept in a three game series in Chicago, but despite their recent struggles I like them as a favorite here in Game 1 at LAA. Julio Urias will toe the slab for the Dodgers, and he's undefeated so far. Urias (4-0, 2.87 ERA) allowed one run on four hits, striking out 10 in seven innings in a win at Milwaukee his last time out. The Angels hand the ball to Griffin Canning, who hasn't missed many bats lately. The 24 year old has an ERA of 6.20 in five appearances. The Dodgers are 6-0 in the last six head to head versus the Angels. GL, Jesse Schule
05-07-21 | White Sox -147 v. Royals | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 8 h 2 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Chisox. The Royals have cooled off after a hot start to the season, losing five in a row. It won't get any easier against Chicago's ace tonight. Carlos Rodon will toe the slab for the Sox, and he's been as good as anyone so far this season. Rodon (4-0, 0.72 ERA) allowed one run on two hits, striking out a dozen in six innings in a win over Detroit his last time out. The Royals hand the ball to Brad Keller, who hasn't had much success against the Sox. Chicago's lineup has hit a combined .385 over 102 at bats versus Keller. The White Sox are 22-9 in their last 31 games as a road favorite. GL, Jesse Schule
05-07-21 | Phillies v. Braves -142 | 12-2 | Loss | -142 | 7 h 12 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Atlanta. The Braves won three straight in Washington, and they might tee off on a struggling pitcher here at home in Game 1 versus Philly. Charlie Morton will toe the slab for the Braves, and he's been fairly solid so far. He hasn't really fooled Philly thought, as the Phillies are batting a solid .281 over 104 combined at bats against him. The Phillies hand the ball to Zach Eflin, who hasn't missed many bats lately. He's allowed a whopping 19 hits in his last two starts. The Braves will be getting their third look at Eflin already this season. GL, Jesse Schule
05-07-21 | Phillies v. Braves OVER 7.5 | 12-2 | Win | 100 | 7 h 44 m | Show
This is an 8* play on Over 7.5. The Braves won three straight in Washington, and they might tee off on a struggling pitcher here at home in Game 1 versus Philly. 05-06-21 | Rays +1.5 v. Angels | 8-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 19 m | Show
This is a 6* play on Tampa +1.5. The Rays are an underdog in Game 4 in LA after winning the first three games of the series, and I like Tampa in this spot. Collin McHugh will toe the rubber for the Rays, and he's mostly used as an opener. He hasn't been spectacular, but he's capable of getting the job done. The Angels hand the ball to Andrew Heaney making his 6th start of the season. He allowed four runs on six hits and two walks in 3 1/3 innings in a loss to Seattle his last time out. The Rays are 31-11 in the last 42 meetings in Los Angeles. GL, Jesse Schule
05-06-21 | Braves v. Nationals -101 | 3-2 | Loss | -101 | 7 h 17 m | Show
This is an 8* play on ATL/WAS. The Nats host the Braves in Game 3 in Washington, and we might see a slugfest in the nation's capital today. Drew Smyly will toe the slab for Atlanta, and he hasn't missed many bats lately. The veteran has allowed a dozen runs on 13 hits over eight innings in his last two starts. He also gave up half a dozen home runs during that span. The Nats hand the ball to Jon Lester, who may also be past his prime. Lester was 0-2 with a 7.88 ERA in five home starts last season. Ozzie Albies is 6-for-7 with a home run lifetime versus Lester. GL, Jesse Schule
05-06-21 | Blue Jays -132 v. A's | 10-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 58 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Blue Jays. Toronto has lost two of three in Oakland, but I like the Jays chances of salvaging a split with a win in Game 4 today. Hyun-Jin Ryu will toe the slab for Toronto, and he's been as advertised so far. Ryu (1-2, 2.60 ERA) allowed no runs on three hits, striking out five in 3 2/3 innings in a 1-0 win over Tampa his last time out. The A's hand the ball to Mike Fiers, who has struggled to earn a spot in the rotation. The 35 year old allowed three runs on six hits in six innings in a home loss to Baltimore in his season debut. Fiers is 0-1 with a 6.97 ERA in his last two starts against Toronto. GL, Jesse Schule
05-06-21 | Indians v. Royals -121 | 4-0 | Loss | -121 | 6 h 32 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Royals. The Royals have lost four straight, and they are on the verge of being swept in a home series versus Cleveland. They turn to their ace today, and perhaps that will be enough to force the Tribe to put the brooms back in the closet. Danny Duffy has been untouchable so far, going 4-1 with a 0.60 ERA. He allowed just one run on two hits, striking out seven in seven innings in a home win over Minnesota his last time out. The Indians hand the ball to Triston McKenzie, who has had real trouble throwing strikes. The rookie gave up five runs on one hit and four walks in just two innings in a loss to Chicago his last time out. He's walked 18 batters in his last 18 innings pitched. The Indians are 17-36 in their last 53 games as a road underdog. GL, Jesse Schule
05-05-21 | Rays +1.5 v. Angels | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 26 m | Show
This is a 6* play on Tampa +1.5. The Rays are an underdog in Game 3 in LA after winning both the first two games of the series, and I like Tampa in this spot. Andrew Kittredge will toe the rubber for the Rays, and he's been great despite being used as an opener. He hasn't allowed a run in each of his last four appearances. The Angels hand the ball to Shohei Ohtani making his fourth start of the season. He allowed four runs on three hits and two walks in five innings in a win at Texas his last time out. The Rays are 30-11 in the last 41 meetings in Los Angeles. GL, Jesse Schule
05-05-21 | Wizards +144 v. Bucks | 134-135 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 24 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Wizards. Washington might be the hottest team in the league, and Russ Westbrook could be the hottest player in the NBA at the moment. The Wizards catch the Bucks coming off back to back wins over Brooklyn, in the second game of a back to back. This is a situational spot that can not be ignored, and I like the underdog to win outright. GL, Jesse Schule |
