10-04-20 | Browns +4 v. Cowboys | 49-38 | Win | 100 | 6 h 34 m | Show
Nick Chubb is the third Brown since 1960 to have consecutive games with at least 100 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns, joining Jim Brown (1962-63 and 1965) and Leroy Kelly (1967). Browns star running back Nick Chubb has gone over 100 yards the past two games by breaking off long gains and some tougher, "dirty" runs for minimal yardage. Already one of the NFL's best, Chubb said the chance to play against an elite back such as Dallas' Ezekiel Elliott doesn't give him any more motivation. Chubb is fourth in the NFL with 292 yards. Elliott, a two-time rushing champion, is tied for ninth at 219. "I go out there and play my game," Chubb said.
10-04-20 | Cardinals v. Panthers +3.5 | 21-31 | Win | 100 | 5 h 17 m | Show
Kyler Murray threw three interceptions on Sunday, tying a career high. He also ran just five times for 29 yards. Arizona is 0-8-1 when he has five or fewer rushes, and 7-3 when he has six or more. The Panthers have won four straight games against the Cardinals, including the 2015 NFC Championship Game, and a 38-20 win in Week 3 last season. Carolina is 12-5 all-time against the Cardinals (including postseason), its best record against any NFC team.Arizona lost to Detroit, 26-23, at home on Sunday, allowing a field goal as time expired. Since the start of last season, the Cardinals are now 6-2-1 when scoring more than 25 points, and 1-9 when scoring 25 or fewer. They're 1-9-1 when allowing more than 25 points in that span.
10-03-20 | Abilene Christian v. Army -30.5 | Top | 23-55 | Win | 100 | 6 h 5 m | Show |
10-03-20 | UTSA v. UAB -21 | 13-21 | Loss | -102 | 5 h 21 m | Show
This has not been a Roadrunners team who has bounced back after a poor defensive effort. After allowing 450 yards or more in their previous game, the Roadrunners are just 3-13 ATS.
10-03-20 | TCU +10 v. Texas | Top | 33-31 | Win | 100 | 7 h 40 m | Show |
TCU has won five of the last six games in this series, outscoring the Longhorns by 115 points over that span (206-91).TCU is looking to avoid its first 0-2 start under Gary Patterson. The last time the Horned Frogs started a season 0-2 was in 1999.The Longhorns (2-0, 1-0 Big 12) slogged through a mostly ragged second half before rallying to beat Texas Tech 63-56 on the road last week. Texas fell behind by 15 points late in the fourth quarter but scored two touchdowns and a two-point conversion late in regulation to tie the game and won with a touchdown, and a defensive stand, in overtime.
10-03-20 | NC State +14 v. Pittsburgh | 30-29 | Win | 100 | 6 h 22 m | Show
NC State's defense had success pressuring the quarterback in the Wake Forest game, registering six sacks in that outing. This is only the second NC State-Pittsburgh meeting since the Panthers joined the ACC in 2013. NC State won 35-17 in 2017 in a game also contested in Pittsburgh.
10-03-20 | Baylor v. West Virginia +1.5 | Top | 21-27 | Win | 100 | 6 h 5 m | Show |
The Bears aim for a first-ever road victory over the Mountaineers but Dana Lane thinks the losing streak will continue. The Bears have lost four straight games in Morgantown. West Virginia may have a better fate last week against OSU if they didn't commit 12 penalties.
10-03-20 | East Carolina v. Georgia State +1 | 29-49 | Win | 100 | 6 h 39 m | Show
After being manhandled by UCF 51-28 in their opener, the Pirates (0-1) play at Georgia State (0-1) on Saturday in a non-conference game in Atlanta. They'll have to improve off a game in which they trailed 27-7 at halftime and 41-14 through three quarters. Junior quarterback Holton Ahlers completed fewer than half of his passes for the Pirates. Ahlers was picked off once in the opener and East Carolina also lost three fumbles.
10-03-20 | South Carolina +17 v. Florida | Top | 24-38 | Win | 100 | 5 h 17 m | Show |
South Carolina has just seven turnovers over its last nine games dating back to September 28 of last season, tied for the third fewest in the FBS over that span behind Oregon State and San Diego State (five each).Shi Smith had 10 catches against Tennessee in the opener after having 11 catches against the Volunteers last season. He's the only FBS player to have two 10-catch games against a single opponent since the start of last season A win for sure but the Gators looked rusty at times and until that get cleaned up I can't lay this many points.
10-02-20 | Louisiana Tech +24 v. BYU | Top | 14-45 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 45 m | Show |
Louisiana Tech began the season with a 31-30 victory at Southern Miss, then routed Houston Baptist 66-38 in its home opener as Luke Anthony threw five touchdowns and ran for another. The transfer from Abilene Christian completed 17 of 30 passes for 314 yards. "We've got some weapons out on the perimeter, and (we're) throwing the deep ball really well," Bulldogs coach Skip Holtz said. "Luke can definitely play better, but I'm really proud. He's only been in this offense five weeks, so he's really playing well. Overall, I was pleased with the way we came in and competed." The Bulldogs had 182 rushing yards among their 542 total yards.
10-02-20 | Campbell v. Wake Forest -33 | Top | 14-66 | Win | 100 | 13 h 52 m | Show |
Wake is a well coached football team who will have their way through the air with the Camels secondary.
09-29-20 | Blue Jays +1.5 v. Rays | Top | 1-3 | Loss | -120 | 13 h 40 m | Show |
Tampa Bay won six of the 10 meetings against the division rival, but four of those victories were by one run and the Blue Jays actually outscored the Rays by a 48-44 margin.
09-28-20 | Chiefs v. Ravens -3.5 | Top | 34-20 | Loss | -100 | 16 h 55 m | Show |
Lamar Jackson is 21-3 as a starter during the regular season, with two of those losses coming against Kansas City and Mahomes in 2018 (27-24 in overtime) and 2019 (33-28). I'm more than happy to take a great team with a chip on its shoulder.
09-27-20 | Pirates v. Indians -1.5 | Top | 6-8 | Win | 135 | 2 h 46 m | Show |
The Indians (34-25) will try to regain their footing on Sunday afternoon when they conclude the 60-game truncated season by hosting the majors-worst Pittsburgh Pirates (19-40). Indians right-hander Cal Quantrill (2-0, 2.17 ERA) will open a bullpen game for the Indians on Sunday. The 25-year-old has allowed just two hits and struck out six over seven scoreless innings in his last three appearances. Pittsburgh right-hander JT Brubaker (1-3, 4.46 ERA) will get the nod in the finale.
09-27-20 | Cubs v. White Sox -1.5 | 10-8 | Loss | -100 | 1 h 9 m | Show
The Chicago Cubs clinched the National League Central on Saturday night despite losing to the Chicago White Sox, receiving some help when the St. Louis Cardinals lost about 300 miles away. For the White Sox to join the Cubs as division champs when the regular season concludes Sunday, the White Sox will need to both help themselves and benefit from an outside boost -- defeat the Cubs and hope the Minnesota Twins lose at home to the Cincinnati Reds. The Cubs (33-26) lost for the sixth time in seven games when the White Sox rallied for a 9-5 victory on Saturday.
09-26-20 | Angels v. Dodgers -1.5 | 6-7 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 48 m | Show
The Angels will enter the game after being officially eliminated from playoff contention with Friday's loss. Bundy has been the Angels' best starter all season, but he has started to slip of late with a 4.91 ERA this month. He will enter off an outing against the Texas Rangers on Monday when he gave up three runs on five hits over five innings as the Angels earned an 8-5 victory. Overall, the Angels' pitching staff was disappointing for yet another season with a staff-wide 5.05 ERA.
09-26-20 | NC State +6.5 v. Virginia Tech | Top | 24-45 | Loss | -105 | 15 h 36 m | Show |
The Hokies are back on the field for gameday for the first time since losing two games in a row to end 2019 -- at rival Virginia and then to Kentucky in the Belk Bowl. "We will not have a full roster," Tech HC Justin Fuente said. "I'm hoping we are able to play. We still have more tests this week. We have one on Wednesday and one on Friday. We are taking it day by day." On the other side, it will be the second game of the season for N.C. State, which is coming off a 45-42 home win over Wake Forest last weekend.
09-26-20 | Tennessee v. South Carolina +3.5 | 31-27 | Loss | -100 | 14 h 48 m | Show
09-26-20 | Vanderbilt +30.5 v. Texas A&M | Top | 12-17 | Win | 100 | 13 h 29 m | Show |
Two returning starters for the Aggies recently opted out of the season: wide receiver Jhamon Ausbon, who led last year's squad in catches (66) and receiving yards (872), and linebacker Anthony Hines III, who ranked second last year in tackles (73) and tackles for loss (10.5). The Commodores return 11 starters on defense and a good deal of experienced depth behind its first team. Linebackers Andre Mintze and Dimitri Moore made the coaches' preseason third team, and defensive lineman Dayo Odeyingbo was a second-team pick.
09-26-20 | Cubs +1.5 v. White Sox | 5-9 | Loss | -140 | 6 h 30 m | Show
The Chicago White Sox had lost no more than three straight games before clinching the franchise's first playoff berth since 2008 on Sept. 17. Chicago has dropped seven of eight since, including six in a row entering Saturday's visit from the Chicago Cubs. Cubs left-hander Jon Lester (3-2, 4.40 ERA) will look to win consecutive starts for the first time in 2020 in his final regular-season start. Lester pitched six shutout innings Monday to defeat the Pittsburgh Pirates. He is 11-7 with a 4.48 ERA in 20 career starts against the White Sox with 111 strikeouts in 124 2/3 innings.
09-26-20 | Pirates v. Indians -1.5 | Top | 8-0 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 11 m | Show |
The Cleveland Indians have been enjoying walk-off wins with great frequency of late, while the Pittsburgh Pirates have been stumbling over themselves for much of the season. Cleveland's victory pulled it even with the Chicago White Sox for second place in the AL Central, one game behind the Minnesota Twins. The White Sox and Twins both lost Friday, meaning the Indians can clinch a home series in the wild-card round with wins on Saturday and Sunday. Pirates right-hander Joe Musgrove (0-5, 4.68 ERA) will look to put a positive spin on a brutal season when he takes the mound on Saturday.
09-26-20 | Astros -1.5 v. Rangers | Top | 1-6 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 43 m | Show |
No matter who Houston puts on the mound, they'll be opposed by Texas right-hander Kyle Gibson (2-6, 5.87 ERA), who will make his 12th and final start of the season. He is 1-4 with a 7.03 ERA over his last seven starts, his ERA ballooning from 3.74 to the highest among qualified pitchers. Gibson suffered the loss in his previous outing against the Angels on Sept. 21, allowing a career-high-tying eight runs (seven earned) on five hits and four walks with four strikeouts over four innings.
09-26-20 | Stephen F Austin +39 v. SMU | 7-50 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 28 m | Show
SFA Quarterback Trae Self threw for 285 yards and a touchdown against the Roadrunners while one-time SMU commit Xavier Gipson grabbed six balls for 94 yards and a touchdown last week. SMU coach Sonny Dykes said he was impressed with what Coby Carthel's team is putting together. I expect a lot of SMU's younger players to see playing time which will keep this game within the huge number.
09-26-20 | Georgia v. Arkansas +28 | Top | 37-10 | Win | 100 | 4 h 3 m | Show |
No. 4 Georgia enters Saturday's season opener at Arkansas as a big favorite, and there seems to be more talk about what the Bulldogs have coming up in the following five weeks than on the trip to Fayetteville itself. After taking on the Razorbacks, who are coming off a 2-10 season and have lost 19 consecutive SEC games, coach Kirby Smart's Bulldogs are home against Auburn and Tennessee, on the road at Alabama and Kentucky, and in Jacksonville for the annual tussle with Florida. The Bulldogs have several new faces from last season's 12-2 East Division champions, perhaps the most notable at quarterback. Wake Forest transfer Jamie Newman was ticketed to succeed Jake Fromm but earlier this month announced he was opting out to prepare for the NFL draft. Southern California transfer JT Daniels and redshirt freshman D'Wan Mathis are ticketed to play against Arkansas, though when the week began Daniels was still awaiting medical clearance after recovering from last year's knee injury.
09-25-20 | Rockies v. Diamondbacks -1.5 | Top | 5-11 | Win | 160 | 9 h 38 m | Show |
The 23-year-old Antonio Santos (0-0, 8.44) will be making just his third big league appearance and his first start. In 5 1/3 innings covering his two relief appearances, against the Giants and the San Diego Padres early this month, he allowed five runs on nine hits, with two walks and three strikeouts. In 2019, Santo made 26 starts combined in Class-A and Double-A. He went 6-9 with a 4.53 ERA and struck out 140 batters in the 145 innings.
09-25-20 | Angels v. Dodgers -1.5 | 5-9 | Win | 100 | 9 h 45 m | Show
Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw (6-2, 2.15), who will get in his final tuneup before the playoffs next week. His outing figures to be limited before he turns it over to a bullpen that struck out 10 Oakland A's batters over the final five innings on Thursday. In 12 career starts against the Angels, Kershaw is an impressive 7-2 with a 2.45 ERA and 94 strikeouts in 84 1/3 innings.
09-25-20 | Reds v. Twins -1.5 | Top | 7-2 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 41 m | Show |
Jose Berrios (5-3, 3.72), is 3-0 with a 2.05 ERA in four September starts with 22 strikeouts and six walks in 22 innings. Minnesota (35-22) moved a half-game ahead of the Chicago White Sox for first place in the AL Central with its fourth straight win, 7-6, over visiting Detroit on Wednesday night. That advantage stretched to a full game after Chicago lost at Cleveland on Thursday. The Twins have already clinched a playoff spot for the second consecutive season, but with a major league best 23-5 home record, they are aiming to garner a top-four seed so they can open their AL wild-card series Tuesday at Target Field
09-25-20 | Tigers v. Royals -1.5 | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 51 m | Show
Kansas City's Brad Keller (4-3, 2.77 ERA) will look to finish off a much-improved season in style. Last year, Keller wound up 7-14 with a 4.19 ERA in 28 starts. In three September starts this season, he's had two mediocre outings sandwiching arguably the best outing of his three-year career. He gave up four earned runs on eight hits in 6 2/3 innings against Cleveland, then tossed a complete-game shutout against Pittsburgh on Sept. 13. First baseman Jeimer Candelario left Thursday's game with lower back tightness and his status the rest of the way is questionable.
09-25-20 | Red Sox v. Braves -1.5 | Top | 7-8 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 24 m | Show |
The Braves host the Red Sox in the final three-game series of the season. The Braves swept a three-game series at Fenway Park earlier this year. Atlanta (34-23) has won four of its last five games and holds a two-game lead over the Chicago Cubs for the No. 2 playoff seed in the league -- by virtue of having clinched the NL East (San Diego, in second place in the NL West, owns the NL's second-best record at 34-22). Chris Mazza's last start came on Sept. 19 against the New York Yankees. He worked four innings and allowed four runs, two earned, on five hits, three walks and one strikeout. Mazza has appeared in five games (three starts) in September and posted a 4.24 ERA.
09-25-20 | Phillies v. Rays -1.5 | 4-6 | Win | 122 | 8 h 33 m | Show
09-24-20 | Tigers +1.5 v. Royals | Top | 7-8 | Win | 100 | 14 h 42 m | Show |
The Detroit Tigers are hanging by the slimmest of threads heading into the opener of a four-game series Thursday night in Kansas City. The Tigers will be eliminated with a loss or a win by Houston. Fulmer has not pitched more than three innings in nine starts this season, his first since Tommy John surgery. But after giving up nine earned runs on 13 hits in five innings combined in his prior two starts, he pitched well in his last outing. He gave up no runs and just one hit in three innings against Cleveland.
09-24-20 | UAB v. South Alabama +6.5 | Top | 42-10 | Loss | -105 | 14 h 54 m | Show |
UAB starting QB Tyler Johnston is out with a shoulder injury, and redshirt freshman Bryson Lucero is coming off a 4-of-12 day against Miami. UAB’s defensive front got ripped to shreds in the 31-14 loss to Miami a few weeks ago. It’ll be too easy, though, for the Jaguars to move the ball through this air, with the combination of Kawaan Baker and Jalen Tolbert good enough to push a UAB secondary that isn’t giving up a whole lot deep so far, but hasn’t been stretched yet.
09-24-20 | Mets -1.5 v. Nationals | 3-2 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 59 m | Show
Corbin (2-6, 4.76 ERA) will be making his 11th start for the Nationals. Corbin's 10th start was not very memorable as he allowed a career-high 14 hits to go along with seven runs in six innings on the road against the Miami Marlins. Corbin is 4-5 with a 4.28 ERA in 16 career games, 15 starts, against the Mets. They'll begin their final four-game series by sending 25-year-old David Peterson to the mound. Peterson (5-2, 3.80 ERA) will be making his ninth start. Peterson's eighth start was quite impressive as he tossed six strong innings and gave up three hits and one run with 10 strikeouts and four walks against the Atlanta Braves. Peterson threw a career-high 102 pitches and worked 22 swings and misses. Peterson, a 2017 first round pick, is 1-0 against the Nationals this season with a five-inning outing earlier this season only allowing one unearned run.
09-20-20 | Cardinals -1.5 v. Pirates | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 22 m | Show |
In the series finale, St. Louis right-hander Jack Flaherty (3-2, 5.52 ERA) is scheduled to face Pittsburgh right-hander Joe Musgrove (0-5, 5.74 ERA). Flaherty is 5-1 with a 1.94 ERA with 47 strikeouts in eight career starts against the Pirates, and his five wins are his most against any opponent.
09-20-20 | Diamondbacks v. Astros -1.5 | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 40 m | Show
On the bright side for Houston, right-handed Jose Urquidy (1-1, 2.70 ERA) dazzled in his previous appearance on Sept. 15, limiting the Texas Rangers to one run on three hits with seven strikeouts over seven innings in a 4-1 win. It was his third start of the season. Urquidy, who has allowed just nine hits against 64 batters faced, did not debut until Sept. 5, due to COVID-19 complications. Sunday will mark his first career appearance against Arizona and his third interleague start. He has no wins or losses and a 2.79 ERA against the National League. Left-hander Madison Bumgarner (0-4, 8.53 ERA) will start the rubber match for Arizona
09-20-20 | Indians v. Tigers +1.5 | Top | 7-4 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 56 m | Show |
The Tigers scored four runs in the eighth inning to pull out Saturday's victory. Carlos Carrasco's worst start of the season came against the Tigers on Aug. 23. He gave up a season-high four runs, including homers to Niko Goodrum and Jorge Bonifacio, while lasting a season-low 3 1/3 innings. Left-hander Matthew Boyd (2-6, 6.75 ERA) will oppose Carrasco. Boyd bounced back from a poor outing against Milwaukee by holding Kansas City scoreless for 5 2/3 innings on Tuesday. He collected his second victory of the season while throwing a season-high 105 pitches.
09-19-20 | Padres v. Mariners +1.5 | 1-4 | Win | 113 | 8 h 56 m | Show
San Diego is set to go with right-hander Mike Clevinger (3-2, 3.10 ERA), acquired from Cleveland in another blockbuster trade at the deadline. Clevinger has no wins or losses and a 6.00 ERA in one career start against the Mariners.
09-19-20 | Wake Forest v. NC State +1 | Top | 42-45 | Win | 100 | 7 h 59 m | Show |
Seeing Wake Forest play last weekend only made the Wolfpack hungrier to be in a game. It also provided a chance to observe the first opponent with a scouting mindset. The Demon Deacons have won the past three meetings with NC State. The only time Wake Forest has won four straight in the series came from 1951-54. NC State is 6-1 in openers under coach Dave Doeren. This will be the first opening game against an ACC foe with Doeren in charge.
09-19-20 | Louisiana Tech +5.5 v. Southern Miss | 31-30 | Win | 100 | 6 h 0 m | Show
A Southern Miss team that went 7-6 (5-3 CUSA) last season and was set to return 15 starters (eight on offense, seven on defense) saw its ranks depleted with five players opting out, including starting wide receiver Jaylond Adams, linebacker Racheem Boothe, and defensive end Jacques Turner. Following the disappointing loss to the Jaguars, tensions ran high behind closed doors leading to head coach Jay Hopson resigning and co-offensive coordinator Scotty Walden taking over.
09-13-20 | Braves v. Nationals -1.5 | Top | 8-4 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 1 m | Show |
Scherzer has somehow missed the Braves this season, but on Sunday he will be opposed by young right-hander Kyle Wright (0-4, 8.05). Scherzer is coming off one of his best performances of the season. He threw seven shutout innings in Washington's 6-1 win over Tampa Bay on Monday. In 24 career appearances, including 22 starts, against Atlanta, Scherzer is 10-8 with a 3.72 ERA. He has struck out 157 Braves in 140 1/3 innings.
09-12-20 | Western Kentucky v. Louisville -11.5 | Top | 21-35 | Win | 100 | 15 h 33 m | Show |
One of Louisville's wins last season was a 38-21 triumph at Nashville over Western Kentucky, which was held to 288 yards of total offense. Louisville quarterback Micale Cunningham, a junior in his fourth season at Louisville, is a dual threat QB, After learning the position under Lamar Jackson in 2017, Cunningham in the last two years has rushed for 979 yards and 11 touchdowns and passed for 2,538 yards while completing 62 percent of his passes with 23 touchdowns and six interceptions. Cunningham is the difference as the Cardinals roll.
09-12-20 | Missouri State v. Oklahoma -44.5 | 0-48 | Win | 100 | 13 h 12 m | Show
Oklahoma is 4-0 against FCS opponents since 2000, winning all four games by at least 55 points.Myron Mason led Missouri State with just 247 rushing yards last year, the second fewest by any team leader in the FBS or FCS behind Akron's Brandon Lee (179).The Sooners have put up at least 300 yards of offense in each of their last 63 games, the fifth-longest streak in the FBS in the last 20 years and longest since Texas Tech had an 88-game streak from 2011-18.
09-12-20 | Austin Peay State v. Pittsburgh -24.5 | Top | 0-55 | Win | 100 | 10 h 35 m | Show |
The good news is that the Panthers have a luxury in an experienced senior quarterback, as Kenny Pickett returns after throwing for 3,098 yards last year. Pittsburgh also returns two of its top running backs in senior A.J. Davis and sophomore Vincent Davis. Pittsburgh was dealt a blow before the season when star defensive lineman Jaylen Twyman opted out of the season to prepare for the NFL Draft, but the cupboard is not bare. The Panthers still should be imposing up front with senior defensive tackles Keyshon Camp and Devin Danielson, along with senior defensive ends Patrick Jones II and Rashad Weaver.
09-12-20 | Georgia Tech v. Florida State -11.5 | 16-13 | Loss | -113 | 9 h 1 m | Show
The Mike Norvell era at Florida State begins this Saturday when the Seminoles play host to Georgia Tech in the first game of the 2020 season for both teams. Junior James Blackman returns as the FSU starting quarterback. He has 41 touchdown passes, 390 completions and 5,079 passing yards in his career with the Seminoles. Tech will quaterbacked by Jeff Sims who gets the nod in a stiff competition in camp. Sims decommitted from Florida State before joining Georgia Tech. This has to play as a positive for FSU.
09-12-20 | Arkansas State v. Kansas State -12.5 | Top | 35-31 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 39 m | Show |
Arkansas State (0-1) opened the season last week with a 37-24 loss at Memphis. Arkansas State led Memphis 14-7 after one quarter, but the Tigers poured it on, leading by seven at halftime and by as many as 20 points in the fourth quarter. Memphis gaining a total of 502 yards and the Red Wolves gaining 424. It was a matter of making the most of opportunities for Memphis. 502 is hard for me to overlook.
09-12-20 | Syracuse v. North Carolina -23 | Top | 6-31 | Win | 100 | 4 h 17 m | Show |
Syracuse has lost all six of its road games against ranked conference teams since joining the ACC in 2013. Boston College is the only other ACC team to go winless on the road against ranked conference foes in that same stretch.North Carolina ranked second in the ACC in total yards per game in 2019, averaging 474.0 per game. It was the third time since 2010 that UNC finished in the top two in the league in total yards per game, and only Clemson has had more top 2 finishes in the ACC in the last 10 seasons with seven.
09-11-20 | Mets v. Blue Jays +1.5 | Top | 18-1 | Loss | -100 | 14 h 45 m | Show |
As predicted, the betting public is all over deGrom and the Mets in this one. With good reason anytime deGrom gets the ball I suppose but I look at this a little different. Toronto just completed a stretch where they won 18 of 28 during a 28 games in 27 day stretch. That tells me a lot about the character of the team. They play a team that has next to no character. Randal Grichuk and Travis Shaw are both batting .375 in eight at-bats apiece against deGrom. Grichuk has two solo homers against him. Caleb Joseph, Joe Panik and Jonathan Villar also have hit against deGrom. I'll take the Jays and insurance against deGrom.
09-10-20 | Red Sox v. Rays -1.5 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -100 | 14 h 37 m | Show |
These teams may be on opposite sides of the spectrum but the Rays offense has been dormant of late, losing their last two games. That's a plus in this situation because we know Tampa will be focused knowing if they don't take advantage of the lower tier teams, things could get interesting in the American League East. Tampa isn't that far off of their offensive stride. They left 34 runners on base in their last 5 games, hitting .195 in that stretch will do that. The Rays punished Red Sox pitching in a four-game sweep last month by scoring 42 runs -- including a season-high 17 in the finale -- as they batted .364 and boomed nine homers in their lone series in Fenway Park -- setting multiple team records on the trip. I'm betting that the Red Sox are just what the Rays needed.
09-09-20 | Mariners v. Giants -1.5 | Top | 1-10 | Win | 140 | 8 h 1 m | Show |
If the Giants can find some power in the middle of the line-up they will be a dangerous club. Last night Alex Dickerson and Darin Ruf, pinch hit for Dickerson, combined to go 2-4, scoring twice, with 2 RBI's, on the back of Dickerson's homer in the third. The Giants have scored four runs or more in 10 straight games for the first time in 13 years. I'll ride this offensive streak while laying the run line.
09-09-20 | Marlins v. Braves -1.5 | 9-29 | Win | 165 | 7 h 32 m | Show
Miami has not swept a series in Atlanta in five seasons and they aren't going to do it today either. One of the issues for the Braves is the fact that they are not getting consistent production at the top of the line-up. Ronald Acuna Jr was 0-4 with 3 k's last night and Dansby Swanson is a guy tends to have early success in game before tailing off. If the top two guys, who are 2-13 in the series aren't giving Freddy Freeman base runners to work with the Braves offense tends to stall with the bottom of the order less reliable. I think you'll get a big night from both Acuna and Swanson tonight as the Braves give us another winner.
09-09-20 | Royals +1.5 v. Indians | Top | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 6 h 2 m | Show |
If Whit Merrifield can start hitting that would give the Royals the ability to score some runs with him leading off. Its hard to find offensive consistency when your leadoff guy is mired in a 2-34 rut. Last night, Merrifield hit a three run shot and a double allowing the Royals ti put up a eight spot enroute to a 8-6 victory over the Indians and a split of their first two games of a 4 game series. His success started early when he got down in the count against Tristen McKenzie and then fought back to put a lot of pitches on McKenzie's count. That set the tone for the rest of the night. Let's see if he can continue that tonight. Take the Royals +1.5 -122
09-07-20 | Astros v. A's -1.5 | 0-6 | Win | 155 | 8 h 40 m | Show
This is a good example of where bettors start to get in trouble. Oakland has lost four of its last five games, and Houston was swept in a four-game series in Anaheim over the weekend. Based on that this looks to be an easy winner especially with Matt Chapman out of the Astros line-up, not so fast. The home team has won all five meetings between these teams this season, and the home team has won eight straight in this series dating back to last season. In 2020, Oakland swept a 3-game series from August 7-9 holding Houston to five runs total, and Houston swept a doubleheader in Texas on August 29.Astros starter, Christian Javier served up home runs to Chapman, Matt Olson and Robbie Grossman in a 7-2 loss in Oakland on the Astros' first visit in August. He took the loss, allowing five runs on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts in his only meeting with the A's. I'm taking Montas and the Athletics with the generous plus money.
09-07-20 | Rays v. Nationals -1.5 | Top | 1-6 | Win | 172 | 5 h 5 m | Show |
Tampa Bay is 14-3 (.824) against Washington when plating four of more runs - its best record vs. any team (min. eight such games) - and is 1-11 (.083) against the Nats when scoring three or fewer. With Scherzer on the mound there always that possibility that he';; shut down the opposition which will give us the plus money win. Rays right-hander Charlie Morton (1-1, 4.82 ERA) will make his second start since coming off the injured list Wednesday and will likely pitch no more than four innings. In nine career starts against Washington, he had struggled to a 2-5 record and 6.23 ERA.
09-05-20 | Diamondbacks +1.5 v. Giants | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 2 h 5 m | Show |
09-05-20 | Rangers v. Mariners -1.5 | 3-5 | Win | 140 | 2 h 23 m | Show
The pick-up of long time Padre, Ty France. seems to have breathed some life into the middle of the Mariners line-up. France was 1-3 in the opener of the series, adding to his .309 average with the Padres. France hit .399 in the Pacific Coast League last season, missing the batting title only because he didn't have enough plate appearances to qualify after being called up to San Diego. Kyle Gibson gets the start for the Rangers against Justus Sheffield for the Mariners. Gibson is 4-4 with a 3.96 ERA in 11 career starts against Seattle, but took the loss on Aug. 10, allowing four runs on nine hits in 4 1/3 innings of a game Texas lost 10-2 at home. Take Seattle and the run-line plus money.
09-05-20 | Yankees v. Orioles +1.5 | Top | 1-6 | Win | 130 | 2 h 32 m | Show |
Gerrit Cole (4-2, 3.91) has lost two straight starts and may not be the automatic play ever time out anymore. With an ERA close to four the Orioles do figure to put some runs on the board. Cole has given up nine runs on 13 hits in 10 innings combined against the Braves and Rays. In addition, word is he may be tipping his pitches. I'll take the extra insurance with the Orioles until Cole gets back on track.
09-03-20 | White Sox v. Royals +1.5 | Top | 11-6 | Loss | -121 | 6 h 30 m | Show |
Danny Duffy is a career .500 pitcher with an ERA under four. Doesn't seem great but considering he's been part of a Royals organization has has seen its share up ups and downs .500 isn't that bad. It will be his seventh start within the division, and fifth in a row vs. either Minnesota or Chicago. He's 2-0 with a 4.12 ERA in those four starts. He's 4-3 in 11 starts vs. the White Sox at Kauffman Stadium in his career, and has a 5.60 career ERA. Take the Royals on the run-line
09-03-20 | Blue Jays v. Red Sox +1.5 | 6-2 | Loss | -127 | 5 h 19 m | Show
Martin Perez has had some blister issues but when healthy has dominated the Toronto Blue Jays, going 2-2 with a 2.36 ERA. He was 1-0 with a 0.69 ERA in two starts against the Blue Jays in 2019. He has not faced Toronto this season. Perez has pitched at least five innings in five of his seven starts Take the Red Sox on the RL
09-03-20 | Nationals +1.5 v. Phillies | Top | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 3 h 40 m | Show |
The Phillies have absolutely handed it to the Nationals through the first three game of this series but I still believe in the Nationals ability to score runs and it starts at the top with Trea Turner. Turner was 0-7 in their last two losses to the Phils, resulting in the Nats being shut out twice. Sunday, Turner was 4-5 leading to six Nationals runs in an eventual loss. I'm going to need the insurance here but if Turner gets on base the Nats can score enough to pull this one out.
09-02-20 | Padres v. Angels +1.5 | Top | 11-4 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 35 m | Show |
Everyone is excited to see Fernando Tatis Jr and Mike Trout go head to head for the first time. Trout hit .156 (7 for 45) with four extra-base hits over a 12-game stretch from Aug. 14-25, but has two homers, a double and seven RBI in his past four games for Los Angeles (12-24). Teheran is back from the bullpen after after some early struggles as a starter. Don't forget that Teheran is a 2x all star and is in his contract year. This will be his best effort or he will be a go against pitcher.
09-02-20 | Cardinals +1.5 v. Reds | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 32 m | Show |
The St. Louis Cardinals can record a season high fourth straight win with a sweep of the Cincinnati Reds, who are going in the opposite direction losing four of their last five. After not playing for three weeks the Cardinals are 12-10 after last nights thrashing of the Reds, 16-2. There a great vibe to the Cardinals clubhouse with the team starting to find that groove that propels teams to long winning streaks.
09-02-20 | Mets v. Orioles +1.5 | 9-4 | Loss | -113 | 3 h 29 m | Show
It feels like the Orioles are getting back on track after winning their last two games after a five game losing streak. They'll go for the sweep against the New York Mets. If the Orioles win, this will be their longest win streak since a 6-gamer last month. It looks as if Renato Nunez is also coming out of his 3-19 stretch with seven strikeouts. Nunez hit two homers while driving in four last night. That's a much needed boost from that fourth spot in the line-up.
09-01-20 | Giants v. Rockies -1.5 | Top | 23-5 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 23 m | Show |
This is a huge series for both teams are trying to find their way into the postseason. The Rockies have already taken three of four from the Giants earlier in the season. Kevin Gausman has allowed 20 runs (18 earned) on 37 hits and eight walks against 48 strikeouts this season in 35 2/3 innings. The 6-foot-2 Gausman has a 1.262 WHIP. He has made two previous starts against the Rockies with an 0-1 record, a 6.97 ERA and a 1.258 WHIP. I'll take the Rockies and grab the plus money.
09-01-20 | Mets -1.5 v. Orioles | 5-9 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 33 m | Show
With the moves the Mets made before the deadline it appears as if New York is going to try and make a run at the Nl crown. They've added to their bullpen while adding a veteran presence in Todd Frazier. Baltimore will start Adam Wojciechowski (1-3, 5.13) who has not recorded a sixth inning out in any of his six starts this season. Go with the Mets in this one.
09-01-20 | Cubs v. Pirates +1.5 | Top | 8-7 | Win | 100 | 16 h 49 m | Show |
The Cubs have dropped four of their last six games. This is not a Cubs team that will overwhelm you offensively, ranking just 24th with a .225 average. Jon Lester is 2-1 on the season but he's given up 26 hits in his last 14.2 innings. The Cubs are just 3-3 when Lester gets the ball. Chad Kuhl has thrown well for the Pirates. Kuhl has given up just two earned runs in his last 11 innings. He has given up more than two earned runs just once this season in six starts.
08-30-20 | Braves v. Phillies -1.5 | Top | 12-10 | Loss | -100 | 1 h 10 m | Show |
The Phillies are playing some of their best baseball of the season as they look for a sweep of the Atlanta Braves and their sixth straight win. This is the first time in over two years that the Phillies have won five straight. Jake Arietta hasn't been great this year but his last outing against the Nationals was one of his best, allowing just one run in five innings. He is 6-3 with a 2.93era in his career against the Braves. His location has been much better of late which is the key to his secondary pitches finding success. In addition, the Phillies bullpen is much better after a few moves this week. Take the Phillies to keep the streak alive.
08-29-20 | Giants v. Diamondbacks -1.5 | 5-2 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 19 m | Show
Lets see if we can catch the Diamondbacks on a streak now that their eight game losing streak has come come to a close i game one against the Giants. On the other hand, the Giants have lost three straight while scoring just four run in their last 22 innings, three coming in the ninth, Friday. Take the Snakes and the plus money.
08-29-20 | Nationals v. Red Sox +1.5 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 6 h 41 m | Show |
Mitch Moreland is batting .386 during his 15-game on-base streak for the Red Sox, who are in last place in the American League East. He is 3-for-8 with two homers in his career versus Washington right-hander Anibal Sanchez (1-3, 6.48 ERA). Moreland is one of the few bright spots for the Sox this season. Look for the Sox offense to wake up at home in a season that is quickly becoming a horror film.
08-29-20 | Pirates +1.5 v. Brewers | 6-7 | Win | 100 | 6 h 37 m | Show
Pirates starter JT Brubaker doesn't have a decision this season but his last outing was his best against the Brewers. he will go five or six innings today. Look for Josh Bell to have a big day against Brett Anderson. Bell is 2-5 with two RBI's in a small sample.
08-29-20 | Orioles +1.5 v. Blue Jays | Top | 0-5 | Loss | -130 | 6 h 33 m | Show |
The Jays will start newly acquired pitcher Taijuan Walker (2-2, 4.00era) who hasn't pitched since the 9th of August. Let's see if the streak of Blue Jay starters not going deep into games continues with Walker. If it does we know the Jays pen is a little depleted with the loss of Jordan Romano who left yesterdays game with a blister. Take the Orioles and the insurance.
08-28-20 | Mariners v. Angels -1.5 | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 10 m | Show
Nick Margevicius pitched against the Angels earlier this season, giving up one run and two hits in two relief innings, but starting a game is a different story. Left-hander, Andrew Heaney (1-2, 5.52), who will start Friday for the Angels, earned his only victory of the season on Aug. 4 against the Mariners, giving up one run and three hits in 5 2/3 innings. The Angels should be well rested after not playing for the last two days. Take the Angels and grab some plus money.
08-28-20 | Indians v. Cardinals +1.5 | 14-2 | Loss | -130 | 5 h 9 m | Show
The Cardinals are fresh off getting swept by the Pittsburgh Pirates yesterday which is why I'm all over them today. If I'm the Cardinals, I'm embarrassed by my effort over the weekend. I expect their best effort tonight. Despite their pitching, the Indians have been horrible offensively (26th in runs scored). This is a Cardinal staff that can match the Indians pitching staff this weekend.
08-28-20 | Dodgers v. Rangers +1.5 | Top | 2-6 | Win | 130 | 4 h 0 m | Show |
Hard to pass up even if its against the Dodgers. I'm more than happy to take +1.5 and plus money with the home team. Even though their offensive numbers are horrific I still feel like teams like the Pittsburgh Pirates are far worse. This reminds me of the series against the Mariners when the Dodgers had the best run differential against an opponent with the worst. The Dodgers took three of four but it wasn't easy and I believe we'll see that play out again tonight. Lance Lynn is the lone bright spot for the Rangers so lets ride him tonight.
08-28-20 | Cubs v. Reds +1.5 | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 5 h 14 m | Show
The Cubs have lost none of their last 14 games. Kyle Hendricks (3-3, 3.55) will get the start for the Cubs. Hendricks was crushed for six runs, seven hits, 2BB, in 4.1 innings against the Reds in the Cubs only loss in their earlier 3-game set. Hendricks has lost his last two outings. Cincinnati may finally be getting hot after outscoring the Milwaukee Brewers 12-1 in their last two outings. Take the Reds with a little insurance.
08-28-20 | Royals +1.5 v. White Sox | Top | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 4 h 24 m | Show |
Reynaldo Lopez gets the start for the White Sox. Lopez gave up 200 hits in just 183 innings last season and despite his stuff, the strikeouts have not come the way most have expected. he's pitched twice this season and neither outing was an indication that he's figuring it out. His line against the Twins was acceptable but it was concerning to see a drop in velocity as he struggles to hit 94 when he use to throw closer to 97. Take the Royals and the insurance.
08-28-20 | Mets +1.5 v. Yankees | 6-4 | Win | 100 | 3 h 35 m | Show
With two seven inning double headers on tap, I tend to look towards the +1.5 when its a short game. The Yankees start this series on a five game losing streak. They may have lost Aaron Judge again after an apparent calf injury. This has been a constant issue for Judge who has been on the IL along with Giancarlo Stanton for much of their time together. Judge adds to a long injury list for the Yanks. We're laying a little more than normal but that's how confident we are in this game.
08-26-20 | Royals v. Cardinals -1.5 | 5-6 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 42 m | Show
These are two teams going in opposite directions. Even with the Royals win last night, KC has lost six of their last nine while the Cards have won five of eight. Jakob Junis is making his first start since returning from the injured list for the Royals. The Cardinals, unlike KC, have a difference maker on their bench in Paul Goldschmidt who walked for the 10th straight game Tuesday. Goldschmidt added a homer in the sixth. He now leads or is part of many key offensive numbers this season. Dakota Hudson gets the ball for the Cards. Hudson is still trying to build up stamina but he has allowed just one run in 8.2 innings this season. He didn't allow a run in 4.2 innings against the Reds in his last start. The Royals are just 11-27 against the National League Central.
08-26-20 | Cubs -1.5 v. Tigers | Top | 6-7 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 35 m | Show |
The Cubs have won 14 of their last 19 games as a favorite, even better with the Cubs in a revenge spot after getting punked on Tuesday, 7-1. This is usually a spot the Cubs thrive in. Over their last 53 interleague games against teams with a losing record, the Cubs have won 39 of them (74%). They have also won eight of their last 11 games against right handed starts, which Michael Fulmer is. Take the Cubs to bounce back in a big way.
08-26-20 | Yankees v. Braves +1.5 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 4 h 7 m | Show |
Game two (DH) Both games will feature staff ace's, although they won't be facing each other. Max Fried (4-0, 1.32) gets the start in the nightcap for the Braves. He has not allowed more than two runs in any of his six starts. In his last outing against the Phillies, Fried gave up just one run in five innings. Take the Braves +1.5 -135
08-26-20 | Orioles v. Rays -1.5 | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 13 m | Show
The Orioles have been one of baseball's surprises but they'd be even better if they could find some starting pitching consistency. Asher Wojciechowski, who has had his own issues, gets the ball for the O's. He owns a 4.84 era through five outings, matching last years 4.92 era in 16 starts. Take the Rays and the plus money run-line.
08-22-20 | Diamondbacks -1.5 v. Giants | Top | 1-5 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 41 m | Show |
Left-hander Tyler Anderson will start Saturday night against Arizona. Anderson (0-1, 4.84 ERA) is in his first season with the Giants. Right-hander Zac Gallen (0-0, 2.40) gets the start. He pitched well enough to win his most recent start, going seven innings and allowing a run on three hits. If the Diamondbacks find their offensive stride again, this will be an easy win.
08-22-20 | Rangers +1.5 v. Mariners | 1-10 | Loss | -148 | 5 h 4 m | Show
Justus Sheffield gets a win and a quality start and we're handing him our financial backing? That's what is happening right now. Sheffield was winless in his first nine starts before pitching brilliantly against Colorado and decent against the Astros. The last time Sheffield faced the Rangers it was in relief when he got shelled. I'll take the insurance in this one.
08-22-20 | Reds +1.5 v. Cardinals | 0-3 | Loss | -156 | 4 h 27 m | Show
The Cards will start Kwang Hyun Kim (0-0, 3.86era). It will be interesting to see how he pans out considering he started the season as the clubs closer. His last start looked good on the stat line but he constantly worked himself out of trouble against the Cubs. In his 3.2 innings, Kim walked three. Wade Miley wasn't much better this season for the Reds but he does appear to have fixed an obvious mechanical flaw in his last start. I'll take the insurance while laying a little more.
08-22-20 | Phillies -1.5 v. Braves | 5-6 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 39 m | Show
Zach Wheeler gets the start for the Phillies. Wheeler should be very comfortable facing the Braves considering he's from the Atlanta area. Robbie Erlin goes for the Braves. Erlin was cut by the Pirates a few weeks back, so if the Pirates who need quality pitching are cutting you, then I'm not sure why I would have my money on him in this one
08-22-20 | Twins v. Royals +1.5 | 7-2 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 56 m | Show
Royals starter Brady Singer is facing the Twins for the third time this season, so its reasonable to believe that his game plan will be a solid from experience. For Singer its a matter You'll know how good Singer is early. If he's able to use his entire selection of pitches, you'll know that he's spotting the fastball well enough to know that he has it to set up other pitches.
08-22-20 | Blue Jays v. Rays +1.5 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 3 h 20 m | Show
Hyun Jin Ryu (2-1, 3.46era) gets the start for the red hot Blue Jays, who have won six straight games. Ryu has already faced the Rays this season, allowing three runs on four hits in just 4.2 innings. Despite the Jays success, I'm not ready to turn my back on the Rays who are now 12-1 when they score five runs or more. That's 13 times this year that they've put up five, almost half their games. Take the Rays and the extra insurance in this one.
08-22-20 | Angels v. A's -1.5 | 4-3 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 21 m | Show
Chris Bassett (2-0, 2.93 era) gets the start for the Oakland Athletics. Bassitt has already beaten the Angels this season. Griffin Canning (0-3, 4.70era) goes for the Angels. Canning has not won a game in over a calendar year. Take the A's in a romp.
08-21-20 | Blue Jays v. Rays -1.5 | 6-5 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 42 m | Show
The Tampa Bay Rays are coming off nine wins in their last 10 games, all on the road. With their sweep of the Red Sox and the Yankees, the Rays were the first team in 30 years to sweep both of those teams on the same trip. The first place Rays are on fire as their offense comes home more reliable than it did before they left. I've created a plus money situation and I'm riding with Tampa again.
08-19-20 | Diamondbacks v. A's -1.5 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 115 | 18 h 38 m | Show |
Despite the six game winning streak I still can't trust Diamondback pitching which still owns a 5.36era, ranking them 24th. Their WHIP is just 1.42 (27th) while the opposition is hitting .255 (22nd). Oakland is still the better of the two teams by a mile. Their staff is twice as good as the D'Backs (4th) with a WHIP of 1.22 (8th). Historically the A's have bounced back after a poor pitching performance, going 21-6 in their next game after allowing 5 runs or more. Arizona is 3-11 as a road dog in their last 14. Too much offense for the A's.
08-18-20 | Cardinals v. Cubs -1.5 | 3-6 | Win | 107 | 6 h 49 m | Show
The Chicago Cubs will send Yu Darvish (3-1, 1.88era) to the hill tonight, Darvish has had a bit of a resurgence of late after getting rid of his large arsenal of pitches. In his last outing, he carried a no-hitter into the 7th innings against Milwaukee, eventually earning the win. In his past three outings, Darvish has allowed two runs in 20 innings for a 0.90 ERA. He has four walks and 27 strikeouts in 24 innings on the season. For the Cardinals, Daniel Ponce Deleon (0-1, 6.75era) gets the ball for the Cardinals who have struggled to find games to safely play. Late information tells me to take the Cubs in a route.
08-18-20 | Brewers v. Twins -1.5 | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 17 h 32 m | Show |
These two teams meet again after the Twins drew first blood, a little over a week ago, after taking 2 of 3 from Brewers. Twins' Nelson Cruz leads the Majors in all three Triple Crown categories, if the Twins offense heats up like their pitching has, they will be a play on team for the next few weeks. Kenta Maeda gets the start for the Twins. Maeda is 3-0 with a 2.66 era this season. In his last start, Maeda threw 6.2 innings, allowing just two runs against the Brewers. He is now 3-2 with a 2.94 era in his career against Milwaukee. He is clearly in command of all of his pitches. As long as his location continues to be stellar, we're going to win this one in easy fashion.
08-17-20 | Royals v. Twins -1.5 | 1-4 | Win | 118 | 4 h 28 m | Show
08-17-20 | Nationals v. Braves -1.5 | Top | 6-7 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 30 m | Show |
08-16-20 | Red Sox v. Yankees -1.5 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 121 | 3 h 27 m | Show |
The Yankees are banged up but they proved last night its a next man up mentality in New York. The Yanks have had their way without Aaron Jude and Giancarlo Stanton last night, pushing their win streak to eight games, their best against Boston in 35 years. This season, New York is 5-0 against Boston, 13-1 in their last 14, outscoring the Sox 96-48. Overall, Boston has lost six straight games while allowing 63 runs in that stretch. They've dropped 15 of their last 21, allowing at least eight runs in their last six games. This is by far the worst Red Sox team I've seen in my 48 years. Yankee starter, J.A. Happ is 11-4 with a 3.00era in 25 lifetime starts against Boston. He is 4-0 against Boston since joining the Yankees. Boston owns a horrific 6.10 era this season and 9.90 during the six game losing streak. Chris Mazza will be the 11th different starter for Boston this season as he makes his first career start. In the pen for the Mets last season, Mazza had a 5.51 era. Take the Yankees again and the plus money.
08-15-20 | Red Sox v. Yankees -1.5 | Top | 5-11 | Win | 126 | 2 h 58 m | Show |
James Paxton has had his issues since offseason back surgery but he looked like he was getting back to normal in his last start against the Rays. The lower part of the Yankees order was on fire last night, take the Yankees to win their 8th straight against the Red Sox at Yankee Stadium.
08-14-20 | Padres -1.5 v. Diamondbacks | Top | 1-5 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 21 m | Show |
08-08-20 | Orioles v. Nationals -1.5 | 5-3 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 27 m | Show
The Orioles looked like they got their hot bats back last night in their 19 hit attack in their 11-0 opening series win against the Nats Friday, but I still remember their struggles against the Florida Marlins at home. One performance doesn't erase what we know the Orioles line-up to be. Thomas Eshelman will be making his first start of the season for Baltimore, so let's see what we have out of Eshelman who has pitched well out of the pen. Even with the win, Baltimore has not been a play on most days with their 111-249 record over their last 360 games.
08-08-20 | Tigers +1.5 v. Pirates | Top | 11-5 | Win | 100 | 2 h 1 m | Show |
The Tigers unleashed their offense on the horrific Pittsburgh Pirates pitching, who still can't stop issuing free passes. The Tigers hadn't played in four days but that didn't stop them for putting up 17 runs against the Bucs. Five Tigers had multiple hits, with multiple Tigers knocking multiple runs. Niko Goodrum led the way with five RBI's. Throw in the fact that Ivan Nova will be facing his former team for the first time, this seems like another good spot to go against the Pirates.
08-08-20 | Indians v. White Sox +1.5 | 7-1 | Loss | -125 | 0 h 23 m | Show
Bettors have jumped on the Indians today with 73% of wagers taken are on Cleveland. Funny, because the White Sox have silenced the Indian bats, handing them two shutouts to a team who's used to being the club blanking their opponent. On July 29th, the Sox limited Cleveland to just 4 hits, all singles. They had chances on Friday but couldn't get the big hit. This just may a case of the Sox having their number. Friday's win came on the heels of the Indians handing the Reds a 13-0 loss. The Indians are now just 7-19 in their last 26 games against teams with a winning record. Take the run-line and the Sox.
07-30-20 | Clippers +4.5 v. Lakers | Top | 101-103 | Win | 100 | 9 h 18 m | Show |
Chemistry is an overlooked aspect of basketball, with Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley out, the Lakers depth will be tested, something you worry about when teams are getting back to playing shape. So much is made of Lebron James but the Clippers made moves to win a title too with the addition of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. They were only on the court for 32 games this year but there was little doubt that they were a championship caliber team together. In addition, the Clips were stronger on the defensive end as well, leading to a +11.6 per 100 possessions. They owned the paint allowing them to get to the charity stripe on a consistent basis. Take the Clippers who will hold James to under 25, leading to their cover. |
