12-07-23 | Pacers v. Bucks -5 | Top | 128-119 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 2 m | Show |
The Indiana Pacers' improbable run through the inaugural NBA in-season tournament continues Thursday night when they attempt to take down the Eastern Conference's top seed, the Milwaukee Bucks, in the semifinals at Las Vegas. The New Orleans Pelicans will face the Los Angeles Lakers in the West semifinal later Thursday, with the two winners advancing to the tournament final on Saturday night. The Pacers, who are the NBA's highest scoring team at 128.4 points per game, have topped 120 points in all five of their tournament games, sweeping through their pool with four consecutive wins before eliminating the Boston Celtics 122-112 at home in the quarterfinals Monday. Indiana bombarded the visiting Celtics with 19 makes from 3-point range, with Tyrese Haliburton (five), Buddy Hield (four) and Bennedict Mathurin (four) combining for more than the entire Boston team (12). The Pacers hit 47.5 percent (19-for-40) from beyond the arc. Thursday's game is a rematch of one of the NBA's most entertaining regular-season contests to date, a 126-124 Pacers home win on Nov. 9 in which they overcame a 54-point performance by Milwaukee star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
12-06-23 | Blazers v. Warriors -12.5 | 106-110 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 5 m | Show
The Portland Trail Blazers and Golden State Warriors have an opportunity to get well acquainted when they meet for the first of three times in 18 days Wednesday night in San Francisco. The West Coast rivals were scheduled to duel just three times this season, including just once in San Francisco. But the inaugural NBA in-season tournament caused regular-season schedule changes this week, with each of the teams eliminated in the group phase required to take on games Wednesday and Friday. The Warriors have dominated the Trail Blazers in recent years, winning six of seven over the past two seasons and five in a row at home over the past three seasons. The home wins have come by an average of 12.8 points. The last time the clubs met, the Warriors put up 55 points in the first quarter of a 157-101 shellacking in Portland last April. The Trail Blazers were without Damian Lillard, Anfernee Simons and Jerami Grant at the time. All three could be missing again in the rematch eight months later. Lillard has been dealt to the Milwaukee Bucks; Simons suffered ligament damage in his right thumb in the preseason and has yet to play this year; and Grant has entered concussion protocol after getting hit in the head Saturday in a game against the Utah Jazz. Simons and Grant could be back by Friday, but they are considered questionable at best for the trip to Golden State. Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups hasn't given up hope of seeing Simons in action in San Francisco after watching him practice this week.
12-06-23 | Golden Knights v. Blues +1.5 | Top | 6-3 | Loss | -175 | 9 h 51 m | Show |
Jordan Binnington is 5-1-0 with a 1.98 GAA, .943 save percentage and one shutout in the six home games in which he has faced 30 or more shots on goal this season.
12-06-23 | 76ers -10 v. Wizards | Top | 131-126 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 14 m | Show |
A five-day break came at just the right time for the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers haven't played since last Friday when they dropped their second straight, 125-119 to the Boston Celtics. All-Star center Joel Embiid missed the past two games with an illness. Tyrese Maxey was also out against the Celtics. Philadelphia is expected to have Embiid and Maxey back when it visits the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. The 76ers will also welcome back Kelly Oubre Jr., who has been out since Nov. 11 with a broken rib and other undisclosed injuries after reportedly being struck by a vehicle. Oubre averaged 16.3 points in his first eight games before his injury. Local police have been unable to locate any video evidence, leading some to be skeptical of Oubre's account.
12-06-23 | Stars v. Panthers -1.5 | Top | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 42 m | Show |
Sergei Bobrovsky is 16-2-2 (.850) with a 2.24 GAA and one shutout in his 21 games against Dallas. Bobrovsky's points percentage versus the Stars is the second highest among the 75 goaltenders with at least 20 games against them (Ken Dryden: 21-2-3, .865).
12-05-23 | Suns v. Lakers -1.5 | Top | 103-106 | Win | 100 | 12 h 60 m | Show |
In his 21st season, LeBron James gets a new stage to operate on when the Los Angeles Lakers play host to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday in a quarterfinal game of the NBA in-season tournament. James helped the Lakers to a 4-0 record in group-stage play of the inaugural event and the top seed in the West heading into the win-and-advance quarterfinals. The Tuesday winner will face the New Orleans Pelicans in a Thursday semifinal at Las Vegas. The Pelicans earned a 127-117 road win over the Sacramento Kings in a Monday quarterfinal matchup. James showed he is as feisty as ever during Los Angeles' 107-97 victory over the Houston Rockets on Saturday. He backed into the lane for a 360-degree reverse layup and also earned a technical foul for a verbal spat with Rockets coach Ime Udoka in the fourth quarter. Udoka was ejected from the game.
12-05-23 | Knicks v. Bucks -4 | 122-146 | Win | 100 | 8 h 50 m | Show
Milwaukee enters their In-Season Tournament Knockout Round game vs. New York having won seven consecutive meetings between the two. The Bucks navigated Group B unscathed, taking home the East's 1-seed to match up with the Knicks, whose +42 point differential in group play earned them the wild card bid.
12-05-23 | Florida Atlantic v. Illinois +2.5 | Top | 89-98 | Win | 100 | 9 h 5 m | Show |
When it comes to the perks Florida Atlantic earned following last season's run to the Final Four, Tuesday's ranks pretty high as the 11th-ranked Owls travel to New York to face No. 20 Illinois in the Jimmy V Classic opener. FAU coach Dusty May couldn't help but muse about his program's good fortune shortly after the Owls knocked off Charleston on Saturday night in the final of the Field of 68 Tip-Off. A mid-major getting its chance in the spotlight at MSG in the Jimmy V Classic isn't unheard of, though. Butler played Georgetown in the event in 2009 as a member of the Horizon League. That same 2009-10 Bulldogs team ended up going all the way to the 2010 NCAA Tournament title game.
12-05-23 | Delaware v. Xavier -11.5 | Top | 87-80 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 51 m | Show |
fter a loss that showed the Musketeers are not all that far from the team they want to be, Xavier will stay at home for a matchup against Delaware on Tuesday in Cincinnati. Battle-tested Xavier is far from content with its overall situation. It's dropped four of six overall and lost consecutive home games, including one to then-No. 6 Houston on Friday. Houston is No. 3 this week. Another of those Xavier defeats came on the road Nov. 13 against Purdue, then the No. 2 team in the country. The matchup with Purdue was a Gavitt Tipoff Games contest, while Friday's was a matchup in the Big East-Big 12 Battle. The competitive 66-60 loss to Houston took away at least a bit of the sting that came from a 78-76 home loss to Oakland last week. The Musketeers (4-4) received 17 points from Quincy Olivari on Friday, while Desmond Claude scored 14 points. Xavier shot just 32.7 percent from the field but held the Cougars to a season-low 34.4 percent.
12-04-23 | Pelicans v. Kings -3 | Top | 127-117 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 51 m | Show |
A matchup between the New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings has never had so much at stake. Third-seeded New Orleans is visiting second-seeded Sacramento on Monday night in the West quarterfinals of the NBA in-season tournament. The winner will advance to the semifinals of the tournament Thursday in Las Vegas. The Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns meet in the other West quarterfinal. Sacramento went 4-0 while winning West Group C. The Pelicans won West Group B with a 3-1 mark. The Pelicans are 2-0 against the Kings this season, winning back-to-back games last month in New Orleans by 36 and five points. Sacramento had issues defending Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson as New Orleans averaged 123 points in the two triumphs. Ingram scored 31 points and Williamson added 26 in a 129-93 victory on Nov. 20. Two nights later, Williamson scored 25 points and Ingram had 23 in a 117-112 victory. Williamson played on back-to-back nights for the first time this season over the weekend.
12-04-23 | Furman v. Arkansas -11 | Top | 83-97 | Win | 100 | 8 h 26 m | Show |
Now that Arkansas has regained a level of confidence, the Razorbacks look for a strong follow-up performance when they host Furman on Monday night at Fayetteville, Ark. Arkansas (5-3) toppled then-No. 7 Duke on Wednesday night for a signature win. Furman (4-4) is coming off Saturday's 70-69 loss at undefeated Princeton, which won on a late 3-point basket. A meeting with Furman might look like a bit of a breather for Arkansas, which faced nationally ranked North Carolina and Duke in its past two games and has a home date with No. 25 Oklahoma on Saturday. But don't expect the Razorbacks to overlook the Paladins, who play in the Southern Conference. UNC Greensboro, also a member of that league, pulled a 78-72 upset at Arkansas on Nov. 17.
12-04-23 | Arkansas State v. Alabama -24 | 65-89 | Push | 0 | 8 h 15 m | Show
With two losses in the past three games, No. 23 Alabama will be in search of a defensive edge on Monday when Arkansas State pays a visit to Tuscaloosa, Ala. The Crimson Tide (5-2) were undefeated through four games before dropping a 92-81 decision to Ohio State on Nov. 24 in the Emerald Coast Classic at Destin, Fla. They also lost 85-77 at home to Clemson on Tuesday in the ACC/SEC Challenge. Mark Sears scored 23 points, Aaron Estrada had 16 and Grant Nelson added 14 for Alabama, which was undone by a pair of rough stretches. Not only did Alabama start the game against Clemson by missing its first nine 3-point attempts, the Crimson Tide saw the Tigers go on a 16-2 run midway through the second half.
12-04-23 | Celtics v. Pacers +5.5 | 112-122 | Win | 100 | 7 h 15 m | Show
The Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers vie for the distinction of being the first semifinalist in the NBA in-season tournament when they duel Monday night in Indianapolis. Indiana earned the home court based on being one of two Eastern Conference teams to make a perfect run through its tournament group play, having dispatched the Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks, and Detroit Pistons. Boston also won its group but needed a point-differential tie-breaker to get the nod over the Orlando Magic and Brooklyn Nets after all three had a loss. The Celtics were blown out 113-96 at Orlando, requiring them to pour it on the Chicago Bulls in a 124-97 finale that tipped the point-differential scales. The Pacers and Celtics have met once this season, and it wasn't close. On Nov. 1, Boston got 30 points from Jayson Tatum in just 27 minutes in a 155-104 home romp when Indiana was missing star Tyrese Haliburton. Boston enters the game in better form than Indiana. The Celtics have risen to the top of the East regular-season standings with five-, six- and three-game winning streaks, the latter compiled in their last three games against the Hawks, Bulls, and 76ers. Boston has continued to win without Kristaps Porzingis, who remains out with a calf injury. The Celtics made up for the absence with seven players reaching double-figure points in Friday's 125-119 home win over the 76ers. The group included starters Tatum (21), Derrick White (21), Jaylen Brown (20) and Al Horford (20). The key to the sustained short-handed success, Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said, is Horford, who in his last two games as a starter has totaled 36 points, 15 rebounds, nine assists, and five blocks, shooting 13 for 17 from the floor.
12-03-23 | Dolphins -8.5 v. Commanders | Top | 45-15 | Win | 100 | 4 h 7 m | Show |
After a 21-point win against the Jets, the Dolphins have five wins by 14 or more points this season. That is their most in any season since 2002 (also five). Their last season with more was 1990 (six).
12-02-23 | New Mexico State +18 v. New Mexico | Top | 62-106 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 18 m | Show |
12-02-23 | Louisville +1.5 v. Florida State | Top | 6-16 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 31 m | Show |
No. 4 FSU's playoff fate in hands of backup QB vs. No. 14 Louisville After one week spent outside the projected field of four, Florida State moved back to No. 4 in Tuesday's latest College Football Playoff rankings. That should mean the Seminoles (12-0) control their own destiny when a backup quarterback leads them against No. 14 Louisville in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game on Saturday night in Charlotte, N.C. When Washington supplanted Florida State for the No. 4 spot a week ago, Seminoles coach Mike Norvell wasn't fazed, saying he had "not talked to (the players) about rankings at any point." Now, by virtue of Michigan's win over Ohio State that knocked the Buckeyes down to No. 6, the Seminoles are back in the fourth spot with only the ACC title game left to conquer. But that might be easier said than done. Florida State's situation is precarious after star quarterback Jordan Travis suffered a brutal lower leg injury against North Alabama on Nov. 18. Backup Tate Rodemaker went just 12-for-25 for 134 yards last week while Trey Benson provided 95 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the Seminoles' 24-15 road win over rival Florida.

12-02-23 | Islanders v. Panthers -1.5 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 8 m | Show |
The Panthers are 17-3-5 in their last 25 home games against the Islanders, dating back to March 2017, despite being outscored 21-12 on special teams. Florida scored nearly twice as many even-strength goals as the Islanders in those 25 games (71-37).

12-01-23 | Spurs v. Pelicans -12.5 | Top | 106-121 | Win | 100 | 8 h 6 m | Show |
The arrival of Victor Wembanyama to the San Antonio Spurs in the 2023 NBA Draft was reminiscent of Zion Williamson's arrival with the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2019 draft. Both players were considered rare prospects, and their entrance into the NBA was greeted with exceptional anticipation. The two former No. 1 overall picks are scheduled to face each other for the first time when the Spurs visit the Pelicans on Friday night. Both teams are thinking long term as they manage Wembanyama and Williamson's workload. San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich said Wembanyama, who was questionable because of a sore hip before playing in a 137-135 home loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday, the Spurs' 13th consecutive defeat, might not play on Friday. Wembanyama, who leads the Spurs in scoring, rebounding, blocks and steals, finished with 21 points, 12 rebounds, four blocked shots and two steals in just 29 minutes vs. Atlanta. He said afterward that his hip didn't bother him in the game.
12-01-23 | Grizzlies +10 v. Mavs | Top | 108-94 | Win | 100 | 8 h 45 m | Show |
Luka Doncic will try to continue his torrid play on Friday night when the Dallas Mavericks host the Memphis Grizzlies. Doncic collected 41 points, nine rebounds and nine assists in the Mavericks' 121-115 win over the Houston Rockets on Tuesday. The four-time All-Star highlighted that performance with a desperation running hook shot with 1:03 left that gave Dallas a 115-108 lead. Tuesday's effort came while Doncic sported a wrap on his left thumb to protect the low-grade sprain he sustained during the Mavericks' 107-88 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.
12-01-23 | Sharks v. Devils -1.5 | 6-3 | Loss | -170 | 7 h 51 m | Show
The Devils won both games played against the Sharks last season: 2-1 in New Jersey and 4-3 (via a shootout) at San Jose. It was the first time they beat the Sharks twice in one season since 1996-97.The Sharks have lost their last 13 road games (including three last season), with each loss by at least two goals. The only other streaks of 13 or more consecutive multiple-goal road losses in NHL history are by the 1974-75 Capitals (25) and 1972-73 Islanders (13)The Devils have won their last three games, outscoring their opponents 16-9. New Jersey's three-game winning streak matches its season high, done once before (Oct. 27-Nov. 2).
12-01-23 | New Mexico State v. Liberty -11 | Top | 35-49 | Win | 100 | 9 h 57 m | Show |
Liberty is 4-2 against New Mexico State all-time, with the Flames winning the matchup earlier this season, 33-17. It was one of two games this season in which Liberty recorded at least 250 rushing yards and 250 passing yards (also against Louisiana Tech). The Flames are on pace to become the second Conference USA team to lead the FBS in rushing yards per game (295.4), along with Army in 1998 (293.8).
11-30-23 | Cal-Riverside v. UCLA -18.5 | Top | 65-66 | Loss | -114 | 13 h 1 m | Show |
UCLA returns home to Los Angeles on Thursday, hosting UC Riverside after the Bruins' 1-2 showing last week at the Maui Invitational in Honolulu. UCLA (4-2) went to the wire in losses against then-No. 4 Marquette, 71-69 on Nov. 20, and 69-65 on Nov. 22 to No. 11 Gonzaga. The setbacks bookended a 76-48 rout of Div. II program Chaminade, the Maui Invitational host. Sebastian Mack was a standout in all three games. He was named the Pac-12 Conference Player of the Week after performances of 25 points against Marquette and 16 points against both Chaminade and Gonzaga. Mack is setting the scoring pace for the Bruins through six games at 15.8 points per game.
11-30-23 | Seahawks +9.5 v. Cowboys | Top | 35-41 | Win | 100 | 20 h 18 m | Show |
Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys have one more game before a highly anticipated NFC East rematch. This time, it's an opponent with a winning record as the Seattle Seahawks visit Thursday night before the Cowboys (8-3) get a little break in anticipation of the Philadelphia Eagles coming to town Dec. 10. Dallas, which has a 13-game home winning streak, has beaten three consecutive double-digit underdogs by an average of 30 points. The Seahawks (6-5) are close, with Dallas favored by nine, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. But the Cowboys say they won't be peeking around the corner at the Eagles, who won 28-23 in Philadelphia to start November in a game Dallas easily could have won. I just think 9.5-points is too many.
11-30-23 | Hawks -7.5 v. Spurs | Top | 137-135 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 34 m | Show |
The Atlanta Hawks look to get back on the winning track as they continue a five-game road trip against the reeling San Antonio Spurs on Thursday in the Alamo City. The Hawks have dropped two straight, and five of their past seven games, while playing the first three games of the road trip. Atlanta heads south after a 128-105 setback in Cleveland on Tuesday as Bogdan Bogdanovic and De'Andre Hunter scored 18 points apiece. Saddiq Bey and Clint Capela added 14 points each for the Hawks while Trae Young had just 13 points on 3-of-14 shooting that included 2 of 8 from beyond the arc. Atlanta led by 10 points in the first half but trailed 64-61 at the half and was held to just 15 points in the fourth quarter.
11-30-23 | Hornets v. Nets -8 | 129-128 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 7 m | Show
While the Brooklyn Nets were unable to advance in the NBA's in-season tournament, they earned something more important for the road ahead: another victory Tuesday. The Nets pushed themselves over the .500 mark for the third time with their second three-game winning streak of the season. Brooklyn's attempt at a fourth straight victory comes Thursday night when it plays host to the Charlotte Hornets. When the Nets reeled off their first three-game winning streak, Oct. 30-Nov. 3, they earned a 133-121 victory at Charlotte, followed by single-digit wins on the road against the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls. Those two teams were Brooklyn's victims in the first two games of the current streak. The Nets sank 38 shots from 3-point range in the past two games and made enough plays down the stretch of Tuesday's 115-103 win over the visiting Toronto Raptors.
11-30-23 | Penguins v. Lightning -1.5 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 7 m | Show |
The Tampa Bay Lightning return from a mediocre three-game road trip with their prolific offense suddenly unrecognizable after its best goal output of the season. The Atlantic Division club will play host Thursday to fellow Eastern Conference opponent the Pittsburgh Penguins, who arrive in Florida for the first time. For Lightning coach Jon Cooper, his group produced some of its most fluid hockey in Friday's trip-opening 8-2 drubbing of the host Carolina Hurricanes. Starting goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy, the 2019 Vezina Trophy winner, had back surgery late in training camp and was expected to be out until December, but made it back ahead of schedule to play two games already. Nikita Kucherov scored a career-high six points and tied two franchise records Friday, while Brayden Point added five points in the rout. The road trip was off and running ... and then Colorado and Arizona happened. Against the Western Conference teams, Tampa Bay stumbled with the puck, managing just two total goals and dropping both games: 4-1 to the Avalanche and 3-1 against the Coyotes. After scoring a season-high eight goals to open the road swing, two in two games seemed just a pittance.
11-30-23 | Texas Tech +3 v. Butler | Top | 95-103 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 43 m | Show |
Fresh off its biggest victory of the young season, Texas Tech takes on another challenge Thursday with a road game against Butler as part of the inaugural Big East-Big 12 Battle. The Red Raiders rolled past Michigan 73-57 last week at the Battle for Atlantis to finish 2-1 at the event. The Bulldogs (5-2) delivered a similar showing in Orlando at the ESPN Events Invitational, with back-to-back wins against Penn State and Boise State after a narrow loss to No. 19 Florida Atlantic. Now two teams with reconstructed rosters collide as they work toward establishing a long-term identity. For Texas Tech (5-1), this is the first true road game, and that's a challenge first-year coach Grant McCasland wants his team to embrace.
11-29-23 | Red Wings +1.5 v. Rangers | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 35 m | Show
Coming off their worst performance of a stellar opening 20 games, the New York Rangers are getting one of their stalwarts back for the blue line. Two days after their most lopsided loss so far, the Rangers are expected to welcome Adam Fox back to their defense corps on Wednesday night when they host the Detroit Red Wings for the second time this month. Fox is returning from a stint on long-term injured reserve after absorbing a knee-on-knee hit from Carolina forward Sebastian Aho on Nov. 2. Fox missed 10 games, and the Rangers were 7-2-1 in his absence. That stretch included a 5-3 win over Detroit on Nov. 7, a 5-3 win at New Jersey on Nov. 18 and Saturday's 7-4 win over Boston. Fox was a full participant in the morning skate and practiced on Tuesday. Fox's return to participating in practices was perhaps the highlight of the hours leading up to Wednesday's meeting with Detroit since the Rangers lost 5-1 to the Buffalo Sabres on Monday night and took their first loss by at least four goals since Dec. 27, 2022, a 4-0 defeat to the visiting Washington Capitals.
11-29-23 | Lakers v. Pistons +7 | Top | 133-107 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 36 m | Show |
The Detroit Pistons can set a franchise record on Wednesday night, but they don't want any part of it. The Pistons tied their franchise mark for most consecutive losses in a season on Monday when they were thrashed at home by the Washington Wizards. Detroit will try to avert a 15th consecutive defeat when it hosts the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday. The Wizards were saddled with a nine-game losing streak entering Monday's contest but easily won 126-107. A team meeting was held after the Pistons fell apart in the fourth quarter against Indiana on Friday. The meeting had little effect, at least in the short run.
11-29-23 | St. Joe's +13 v. Villanova | Top | 78-65 | Win | 100 | 9 h 29 m | Show |
No. 18 Villanova will look to extend its winning streak to five when it hosts Big 5 rival Saint Joseph's on Wednesday. The annual matchup is known as the "Holy War" between the two Philadelphia-area schools, which are located less than eight miles apart. The Wildcats (6-1) defeated Maryland and then ousted Texas Tech, North Carolina and Memphis to capture the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas. Villanova led the Tigers by as many as 35 points before winning 79-63 in the championship game. Eric Dixon was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after averaging 21.6 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Justin Moore scored 11 points against Memphis and joined Dixon on the All-Tournament team. Villanova suffered a disappointing 76-72 loss to Penn on Nov. 13. They haven't lost since.
11-28-23 | NC State v. Ole Miss -1.5 | 52-72 | Win | 100 | 11 h 2 m | Show
Eyeing a 6-0 start under first-year head coach Chris Beard, Ole Miss will welcome North Carolina State to Oxford, Miss., for the first time on Tuesday as part of the inaugural SEC-ACC Challenge. NC State (4-1) is the first major conference opponent that Ole Miss (5-0) has faced this season. The Wolfpack will also be the first team the Rebels have played this season that made last spring's NCAA Tournament. After a 77-76 road win over Temple last week, Beard is looking forward to another challenge, but also recognizes that his team still has strides to make.
11-28-23 | Bulls v. Celtics -13 | 97-124 | Win | 100 | 8 h 2 m | Show
The Boston Celtics can advance to the knockout stage of the NBA's in-season tournament, but they'll need a dominating performance against the visiting Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night - plus some help from the Brooklyn Nets to do it. The Celtics could win East Group C if several outcomes go Boston's way - including a Celtics win over the Bulls and a Brooklyn victory over Toronto on Tuesday. That would leave Boston, Brooklyn and Orlando in a three-way tie for first place in the East Group C standings, each at 3-1. The group winner would then be determined by the second tiebreaker, which is point differential. Boston's point differential is zero, Orlando's is plus-22 and Brooklyn's is plus-8. The Celtics would need a 23-plus point victory and hope that the Nets win by fewer than 15 points. The six group winners and two wild-card teams advance to the quarterfinals of the in-season tournament, which concludes with semifinals and the final in December. There is also a path for the Celtics to reach the knockout stage as a wild card if they beat the Bulls. In that scenario, Boston would have to finish with a better point differential than the other Eastern Conference teams that don't finish first in their group. Following Sunday's 113-103 victory over Atlanta, Boston's Jayson Tatum made it clear he's not in favor of point differential being used as a tiebreaker.
11-28-23 | Georgia Southern v. Michigan State -28 | Top | 55-86 | Win | 100 | 9 h 39 m | Show |
Michigan State did not expect to be a .500 team heading into its final game of the month. The No. 21 Spartans are 3-3 after losing to No. 3 Arizona 74-68 on Thanksgiving Day. With the team's Big 10 opener fast approaching, Michigan State plays host to winless Georgia Southern on Tuesday at East Lansing, Mich. The Spartans face Big Ten opponents Wisconsin and Nebraska during their first two games of December. Michigan State trailed by as much as 15 points in the first half against Arizona, which had a 40-30 halftime advantage. The Spartans then rallied to take a 66-63 lead with 3:58 remaining. Arizona answered with an 8-0 run for a 71-66 lead with 1:23 left and Michigan State was unable to respond.
11-27-23 | Capitals -1.5 v. Sharks | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 11 m | Show
The San Jose Sharks will attempt to win consecutive games for just the second time this season when they host the Washington Capitals on Monday night. The Sharks defeated the visiting Vancouver Canucks 4-3 on Saturday. Mikael Granlund and Mike Hoffman scored 86 seconds apart early in the third period and the Sharks held on. After starting the season 0-10-1, San Jose is 4-5-1 in its past 10 games. Ty Emberson scored his first NHL goal, and Tomas Hertl and Calen Addison each had two assists for the Sharks, who had lost three straight. Kaapo Kahkonen made 30 saves. Granlund and Hoffman each had an assist. Vancouver had won the first two meetings between the teams by scores of 10-1 and 3-1.
11-27-23 | Bears +3 v. Vikings | Top | 12-10 | Win | 100 | 12 h 48 m | Show |
The Vikings have won five straight over the Bears, their third-longest winning streak against Chicago all-time (eight -- 1972-76; six -- 1992-94). In those five wins, the Vikings have forced 11 Bears turnovers and held them to 14.8 points per game, but yet, we have a number that seems to be begging bettors to take the Vkings.
11-27-23 | Lakers v. 76ers -5.5 | Top | 94-138 | Win | 100 | 7 h 53 m | Show |
The 76ers are coming off a 127-123 road win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, preventing their first three-game skid of the season. Philadelphia center Joel Embiid, who figures to match up against Davis on Monday, just missed a triple-double after finishing with 35 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. Embiid scored more than half his points at the free-throw line, going 19 for 21, as the 76ers snapped Oklahoma City's six-game winning streak. Chet Holmgren, a 7-1 rookie power forward for Oklahoma City, said it's nearly impossible to guard Embiid one-on-one.
11-27-23 | Western Illinois v. Wisconsin -27.5 | Top | 49-71 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 12 m | Show |
Wisconsin will be looking to extend its three-game winning streak when it hosts Western Illinois on Monday in Madison before the Badgers enter a gauntlet against ranked opponents. Wisconsin (4-2) overcame a 10-point second-half deficit to rally past SMU 69-61 on Wednesday in the championship game of the Fort Myers Tip-Off. Western Illinois (2-4) lost at Illinois 84-52 on Friday. After Western Illinois, Wisconsin faces No. 4 Marquette, No. 21 Michigan State and No. 3 Arizona in an eight-day span. After dominating No. 24 Virginia 65-41 in the Fort Myers opener, the Badgers overcame a dismal first half against SMU with strong play down the stretch, pulling away from a 57-57 tie. After hitting just 1 of their first 19 three-pointers against SMU, the Badgers hit 4 of their last 5. Wisconsin also held a 40-24 edge in points in the paint and was 12-of-13 from the free-throw line. Tyler Wahl had 14 points and the Badgers had four other players in double figures in winning their third straight.

11-26-23 | Ducks +1.5 v. Oilers | 2-8 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 4 m | Show
The Anaheim Ducks are becoming known as a team that spends a lot of time in the penalty box. That could spell trouble when the Ducks visit the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday night. Anaheim led the NHL in penalty minutes (280) heading into Saturday's schedule, while the Oilers had the seventh-best power play in the league entering Saturday with a 25 percent success rate. Anaheim's penalty kill has performed well most of the season but is beginning to sag under the weight of constant usage. The Ducks gave up two power-play goals in the first period on Friday against the visiting Los Angeles Kings and couldn't make up the deficit in a 5-2 loss, their fifth straight setback. The Oilers led the NHL last season with a 32.4 percent success rate on the power play, the best mark in the history of the NHL. They finished in the top three with the man advantage in the three previous seasons as well. Edmonton wasn't nearly as productive on the power play to start this season but is showing signs of finding its groove, scoring three power-play goals in a 5-0 win at the Washington Capitals on Friday.
11-26-23 | Bulls v. Nets -4 | Top | 109-118 | Win | 100 | 7 h 18 m | Show |
The Brooklyn Nets struggled defensively during their just-concluded three-game losing streak. Even if one of their better defensive showings occurred against a short-handed opponent on Saturday, the Nets will look to follow it up on Sunday night when they host the struggling Chicago Bulls. The Nets are playing their second back-to-back set this season and are coming off a 112-97 win over the Miami Heat, who held out stars Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler due to lingering injuries. After allowing 390 points and 49 3s in losses to Miami, Philadelphia, and Atlanta, the Nets led virtually the entire way while permitting under 100 points for the third time this season. Brooklyn posted its second-most lopsided margin of victory thanks to its defense allowing 43.7 percent shooting while forcing a season-best 17 turnovers. The Nets also countered their effective defense by seeing all five starters reach double figures. Mikal Bridges scored 24 points, Cameron Johnson added 19 for his second-highest point total this season while Dorian Finney-Smith contributed 16.
11-26-23 | Hornets +7.5 v. Magic | Top | 117-130 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 58 m | Show |
The Hornets are 10-4 (.714) against the Magic in Orlando since the 2015-16 season, the most road wins for the Hornets over any opponent over that span.
11-26-23 | Suns v. Knicks -3 | 116-113 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 52 m | Show
The Phoenix Suns will take the court Sunday night two days removed from keeping alive their hopes of advancing beyond group play in the NBA in-season tournament. Stunningly, so will the New York Knicks. The Knicks will look to build on a dramatic comeback win when they host the Suns in the first game of the season between the teams. Both teams were off Saturday after earning pivotal wins Friday. The visiting Suns completed West Group A play by cruising past the Memphis Grizzlies 110-89. The host Knicks overcame a 21-point third-quarter deficit to edge the Miami Heat, 100-98. The Suns have a 3-1 record in the in-season tournament, one game behind the Los Angeles Lakers. But with a plus-34 point differential, Phoenix is well-positioned to earn the wild-card berth into the knockout round. The top second-place team in the Western Conference is assured of finishing with no better than a 3-1 record. Through Friday, the Suns had a better point differential than the 3-0 Sacramento Kings (plus-29) as well as the 2-1 Houston Rockets (plus-16), the 2-1 Golden State Warriors (plus-5) and the 2-1 Minnesota Timberwolves (minus-3). With the point differential in mind, the Suns ended the lopsided win over the Grizzlies with four starters on the court - including star shooting guard Devin Booker, who scored nine of Phoenix's final 12 points over the final 3:53. He closed out the scoring by banking in a 27-foot 3-pointer for the game's final points with 13 seconds left.

11-26-23 | Patriots v. Giants +4.5 | Top | 7-10 | Win | 100 | 4 h 9 m | Show |
Bill Belichick has a 4-5 (.444) head coaching record against the Giants, including two Super Bowl losses. The only other team against which he has a sub-.500 record -- including playoffs - is the Broncos at 10-14 (.417).

11-25-23 | Mavs -1.5 v. Clippers | 88-107 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 20 m | Show
The Mavericks defeated the Clippers 144-126 in their first matchup this season. The Mavericks' 144 points were the most scored by either team in their 171 all-time meetings.
11-25-23 | Northern Illinois v. DePaul -3.5 | 89-79 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 17 m | Show
DePaul and in-state foe Northern Illinois have experienced decidedly different starts to the young season. The Blue Demons look to avoid a third straight defeat while trying to keep the visiting Huskies from their fifth consecutive victory on Saturday night in Chicago. For the second time in four seasons, DePaul (1-4) has lost four of its first five. The first three of those defeats were by a combined 17 points. That was before the Blue Demons were outscored by 13 in the second half, shot 36.2 percent and allowed San Francisco to shoot 51.7 percent overall during a 70-54 loss in the third-place game of the Cactus Division at the Arizona Tip-Off on Sunday. DePaul is averaging just 68.2 points on the season and shot 38.8 percent while losing to South Carolina and San Francisco at the Arizona event.

11-24-23 | Penn State v. Michigan State +23 | Top | 42-0 | Loss | -112 | 26 h 16 m | Show |
Michigan State had two receivers with at least 90 yards and a touchdown last week. It was the eighth time two Spartans reached those marks in a game this century and first time since 2017 at Northwestern (Cody White and Felton Davis III).
11-24-23 | Oregon State v. Pittsburgh -9.5 | Top | 51-76 | Win | 100 | 22 h 30 m | Show |
11-24-23 | Dolphins -9 v. Jets | Top | 34-13 | Win | 100 | 21 h 7 m | Show |
Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins are having a whirlwind of a week. After a close victory over the Las Vegas Raiders last Sunday, the Dolphins' itinerary included some rest, meetings, watching game video, getting in a little practice time, hopping on a 1,000-mile flight and spending Thanksgiving preparing to face the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on Friday. “We’ll probably have one day of field practice to run around and make sure everything is on point and on time. But outside of that, what makes these short weeks tough is that a lot of these things are more mental than physical.” Jets coach Robert Saleh tried to take an optimistic approach to the short week. Sure, the Jets and Dolphins are getting one more day to get ready than the six teams with Thanksgiving games. But the spotlight will be on the AFC East rivals during the first game in NFL history to be played on Black Friday.
11-23-23 | 49ers -7 v. Seahawks | Top | 31-13 | Win | 100 | 10 h 49 m | Show |
The 49ers have put up at least 400 yards of offense with zero turnovers in two straight games, their first time doing so in back-to-back games in a single season. Only seven NFL teams have done so in three straight games all-time, most recently the Ravens in 2019.Brock Purdy has a passer rating of 157.3 over his last two starts. That is the highest passer rating by any NFL QB over a two-start span since QB starts were first tracked in 1950.The Seahawks lost to the Rams last week, 17-16, as they committed 12 penalties for 130 yards, the most penalty yards by any team this season. Seattle is averaging the most penalties per game (7.6) and penalty yards per game (63.9) in the NFL this season.
11-23-23 | Boise State v. Virginia Tech -2 | 75-82 | Win | 100 | 10 h 45 m | Show
There has been a nice mixture of games for Virginia Tech to measure itself in the opening weeks of the season. The Hokies are about to learn a lot more in the ESPN Events Invitational. Virginia Tech's tournament quest begins Thursday night vs. Boise State in Kissimmee, Fla. Each team will play three games over four days. Virginia Tech (3-1) has enjoyed a sampling of what it can do. Boise State (2-1) has been on the East Coast since last weekend.
11-23-23 | Iowa State -12 v. VCU | Top | 68-64 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 19 m | Show |
Under third-year head coach T.J. Otzelberger, Iowa State has shined in Thanksgiving-week tournaments. The Cyclones (4-0) are hoping for more of the same when they open against VCU (3-1) on Thursday in the ESPN Events Invitational in Kissimmee, Fla. In Otzelberger's first season with Iowa State in 2021-22, they knocked off No. 25 Xavier and No. 9 Memphis to win the NIT Season Tip-Off. Last year, the Cyclones took down Villanova and top-ranked North Carolina before losing to eventual national champion UConn in the Phil Knight Invitational final. This time around, it will be the Rams standing in the way of another successful non-conference tournament run. For Otzelberger, the challenge given to his team will be to focus on the now and not its future opponents.
11-23-23 | Florida Atlantic v. Butler +7 | 91-86 | Win | 100 | 5 h 47 m | Show
No. 19 Florida Atlantic and Butler face off on Thanksgiving in the ESPN Events Invitational in Kissimmee, Fla. The Owls suffered a humbling 61-52 loss to Bryant on their home floor Saturday, dropping them out of the top 10 and ending their 19-game home winning streak. The loss for the Owls (2-1), a Final Four team in March with most of the same cast back this season, served as a reminder that nothing comes easy for a highly-ranked program. Johnell Davis scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in that game and is averaging 10.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Viadislav Goldin leads the Owls in scoring at 15 points per game and Nicholas Boyd is averaging 10.7 points and 3.3 assists.
11-23-23 | Cal-Irvine v. Toledo +3.5 | 77-71 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 26 m | Show
11-22-23 | Mavs v. Lakers +3 | 104-101 | Push | 0 | 13 h 50 m | Show
Sometimes the best way to ignite a dormant offense is with a stingy defense. In the case of the Dallas Mavericks, they appear to have it the other way around. The Mavericks will try to override their leaky defense with a high-octane offense when they visit the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night. Dallas is allowing an NBA 24th-best 120.4 points a game. The Mavericks, in turn, are scoring 122.8 points a game, which is second-most in the league. The Mavericks surrendered more than their season average in their past two games -- both losses. The Milwaukee Bucks shot 52.1 percent from the floor in a 132-125 win against Dallas on Saturday.
11-22-23 | Canadiens v. Ducks -1.5 | 4-3 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 3 m | Show
Struggling to post victories and stay out of the penalty box, both the Montreal Canadiens and the host Anaheim Ducks are looking to get back into the win column on Wednesday. Anaheim has lost its last three games, while the Habs are on a four-game skid heading into the West Coast portion of a five-game road trip. The first stop on the Canadiens' trip was a lopsided 5-2 loss to the Boston Bruins on Saturday. The Habs had a season-low 22 shots, while the Bruins' 44 shots marked the second-highest shot total by a Montreal opponent this season.
11-22-23 | IUPU Ft Wayne +14.5 v. San Francisco | Top | 60-76 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 29 m | Show |
11-22-23 | Raptors +4 v. Pacers | Top | 132-131 | Win | 100 | 10 h 45 m | Show |
The Indiana Pacers will try to maintain their hot shooting Wednesday night when the oppose the Toronto Raptors in Indianapolis. The Pacers are coming off a 157-152 road win over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night in an NBA in-season tournament game in which they shot 60.6 percent from the floor. Indiana has won all three of its tournament games and has clinched a quarterfinal spot with one game remaining. The Raptors will complete a two-game, two-day road trip after losing 126-107 to the Orlando Magic on Tuesday. Toronto fell to 0-2 in in-season tournament action. The Pacers trailed by as many as 20 points against Atlanta, but they rallied behind Tyrese Haliburton. The 23-year-old guard scored 26 of his 37 points in the third quarter and finished with 16 assists. I think participating in a game that featured 300 points and then playing the next night will take its toll late.
11-22-23 | Wizards v. Hornets -4 | Top | 114-117 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 26 m | Show |
Charlotte's fourth-quarter comeback and eventual overtime victory against the visiting Boston Celtics on Monday night were the highlights of the season so far for the Hornets. The challenge will be doing it again. The first chance for that comes on Wednesday against the visiting Washington Wizards. At least the Hornets have good vibes compared to the Wizards, who have lost six games in a row since a 132-116 victory at Charlotte on Nov. 8. More of the pieces appear to be in place for the Hornets, though they remain without injured guard Terry Rozier. Miles Bridges has a new role after working back into the rotation following a suspension, and Gordon Hayward has shown the ability to be an elite player again when healthy.
11-22-23 | Oilers v. Hurricanes -1.5 | Top | 3-6 | Win | 170 | 9 h 8 m | Show |
Just when it seemed as if the Edmonton Oilers finally had found a rhythm, they might be amid another slide. The Oilers likely won't have an easy time avoiding a third straight defeat Wednesday night in Raleigh, N.C., where the Carolina Hurricanes have been nearly unbeatable this season. Edmonton owned a 2-9-1 record before winning three straight from games. However, the Oilers again are headed in the wrong direction after allowing 11 goals in consecutive road defeats to the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers. On Monday, the Oilers squandered leads of 2-0 and 3-2 en route to a 5-3 loss to the Panthers. The setback dropped them to 2-7-0 on the road this season.
11-22-23 | Georgia State v. Arkansas-Little Rock +2 | 93-90 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 40 m | Show
11-21-23 | Pacers +4 v. Hawks | Top | 157-152 | Win | 100 | 10 h 32 m | Show |
The Atlanta Hawks will try to end a three-game, home-court losing streak on Tuesday night when they face the Indiana Pacers in the NBA in-season tournament. This will be the first of four regular-season meetings between Atlanta and Indiana. The Hawks won two of three against the Pacers last season. The Hawks have lost two straight and three of their last four after Friday's 126-116 home loss to Philadelphia in the in-season tournament. Indiana is coming off a 128-116 loss to Orlando on Sunday, where the Pacers trailed by 40 in the second half. The teams are competing in the East Group A Division of the in-season tournament. Indiana is 2-0 and Atlanta is 1-1 in tournament play. Atlanta has had trouble on the boards against New York's Mitchell Robinson and Philadelphia's Joel Embiid the last two games.

11-20-23 | Eagles v. Chiefs -2.5 | 21-17 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 37 m | Show
Including last season's Super Bowl, the Chiefs have now won four straight games against the Eagles. Philadelphia's last win over the Chiefs came in Week 3, 2009, and its last win in Kansas City was in Week 4, 2005. Since then, the Eagles have road wins against every other NFL team except Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Tennessee.

The Kings have lost their last three visits to Dallas, joining Portland and Utah as the only Western Conference teams not to win there since the start of 2021-22. Those three losses, however, have been by a combined 11 points.
11-19-23 | Winnipeg v. Montreal +8.5 | Top | 24-28 | Win | 100 | 5 h 56 m | Show |

11-19-23 | Magic +4.5 v. Pacers | Top | 128-116 | Win | 100 | 4 h 19 m | Show |
The Orlando Magic look to forge a three-game road winning streak Sunday when they visit the Indiana Pacers for an Eastern Conference matchup at Indianapolis. Orlando scored back-to-back wins at Chicago, 96-94 on Wednesday and 103-97 on Friday, to rebound from a 124-104 defeat at Brooklyn on Tuesday. The loss to the Nets is the Magic's only defeat in their last four outings. Franz Wagner led six Magic scorers in double figures on Friday, finishing with 21 points, including a pivotal three-point play with 20.1 seconds remaining as Orlando rallied after coughing up a 15-point, fourth-quarter lead. The Magic trailed after an Alex Caruso 3-pointer with 26 seconds remaining but recovered to score the game's final seven points.
11-19-23 | Jets v. Bills -7.5 | 6-32 | Win | 100 | 7 h 55 m | Show
Buffalo leads the NFL with 220 total first downs this season, ahead of the Vikings and Eagles with 210 each. The last time Buffalo led the league in first downs outright in a season was in 1992, that last season the Bills made it to the Super Bowl. Get the Bills in a revenge spot.
11-19-23 | Pistons +9.5 v. Raptors | Top | 113-142 | Loss | -115 | 3 h 13 m | Show |
The Toronto Raptors are out for a victory over the Detroit Pistons on Sunday afternoon in order to complete their four-game homestand with a split. After winning the opener of the homestand by coming back from a 23-point deficit to defeat the Washington Wizards 111-107, the Raptors have lost two in a row. Toronto was down by 16 points at halftime Friday and came back to take the lead in the fourth quarter before losing 108-105 to the Boston Celtics. It was Toronto's first game of the NBA in-season tournament. I just think the points are a lot to give.
11-19-23 | Rhode Island v. Washington State -6 | 57-78 | Win | 100 | 3 h 15 m | Show
The Washington State men's basketball team hopes to see some improvements on Sunday afternoon when the Cougars meet Rhode Island in the consolation game at the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off in Uncasville, Conn. The Cougars (2-1) lost the opener of the two-day showcase to Mississippi State 76-64 on Saturday. The Bulldogs benefited from more poise and physicality. Smith said the Cougars hope to cut down on the discrepancy at the free-throw line that occurred against Mississippi State, which went to the line 25 times, compared to 12 for the Cougars.
11-19-23 | Cowboys v. Panthers +11 | Top | 33-10 | Loss | -120 | 3 h 24 m | Show |
Dak Prescott is sizzling, and the Dallas Cowboys are winning the games they should win while eyeing a playoff run. The Carolina Panthers are heading toward a sixth straight losing season. The NFC foes are heading in opposite directions and will clash on Sunday in what is expected to feel like a home game for the Cowboys (6-3), even though it will be played at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium. Since Week 8, Prescott leads the NFL with 1,082 passing yards and 11 touchdown passes and ranks second with a 129.4 rating. He has recorded at least 300 yards passing and three touchdown passes in each of Dallas’ last three games, one shy of matching a record shared by Peyton Manning, Steve Young and Patrick Mahomes. Prescott is coming off a 404-yard, four-TD performance against the Giants. With that being said, I've seen too many times where the Cowboys have played up to the level of their competition.

11-18-23 | Mississippi State v. Washington State +7.5 | Top | 76-64 | Loss | -110 | 1 h 52 m | Show |
The Cougars (2-0) posted convincing wins against Idaho and Prairie View A&M before getting time off to prepare for their matchup against Mississippi State. Washington State shot better than 50.0 percent from the floor in its first two wins and 54.0 percent overall. Myles Rice, who sat out last season while undergoing treatment for Hodgkin lymphoma, is averaging 14.0 points this season. Isaac Jones logged a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds in the 83-65 victory over Prairie View A&M on Nov. 10. Jones had 11 double-doubles at Idaho last season and averaged 6.9 trips to the free throw line, which ranked 14th in the nation. The 6-foot-9 forward has stepped to the line 17 times so far this season, making nine.
11-17-23 | Colorado v. Washington State -4 | Top | 14-56 | Win | 100 | 13 h 47 m | Show |
Back in September, a primetime matchup between Colorado and Washington State would have been off the charts. The Buffaloes, under first-year coach Deion Sanders, won their first three games of the season and were ranked 18th in the Top 25. The Cougars opened with four straight victories and reached No. 13. Those good times are long gone and Friday night in Pullman, Wash., the Buffaloes and Cougars meet to see who can escape the Pacific-12 Conference cellar. Colorado (4-6 overall, 1-6 Pac-12) has lost four games in a row and six of seven, the lone victory in that span a 27-24 decision against Arizona State. Washington State (4-6, 1-6) has dropped six in a row. Both teams came close to snapping out of their downturns last week but couldn't eject the continued nosedive. The Buffaloes took a seven-point lead into the fourth quarter at home before losing 34-31 to Arizona.
11-17-23 | Lakers v. Blazers +9 | 107-95 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 44 m | Show
The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Portland Trail Blazers earlier this week without LeBron James. Five nights later, James is expected to be in the lineup when the Lakers visit the Trail Blazers in the NBA in-season tournament matchup. James sat out against Portland due to his left calf injury but is listed as questionable for the rematch. The Lakers won 116-100 as Anthony Davis recorded 30 points and 13 rebounds. In between, James played a back-to-back set on Tuesday and Wednesday against the Memphis Grizzlies and Sacramento Kings, respectively. He was stellar in defeat against the visiting Kings, recording 28 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds for his 108th career triple-double. The triple-double snapped a tie with Jason Kidd and moved James into fifth place in NBA history. The health of Davis (hip, adductor) is often a problem but he is listed as probable for Friday's game. Davis struggled with just nine points on 3-of-9 shooting and committed five turnovers in the 125-110 loss to Sacramento but didn't want to blame it on his ailments. He also had nine rebounds and four blocked shots.

11-17-23 | Celtics v. Raptors +8.5 | Top | 108-105 | Win | 100 | 7 h 22 m | Show |
The Toronto Raptors know they must break their habit of slow starts when they play the visiting Boston Celtics on Friday night in their first NBA in-season tournament game. Coach Darko Rajakovic said after Wednesday's 128-112 loss to the visiting Milwaukee Bucks that the Raptors are trying to sort out their issues at the start of games. The Raptors have overcome 22- and 23-point deficits to win games this season, but they could not come back after falling behind by as many as 33 to the Bucks.
11-16-23 | Thunder -2 v. Warriors | Top | 128-109 | Win | 100 | 13 h 37 m | Show |
Oklahoma City Thunder will catch the Golden State Warriors without Draymond Green and possibly without Stephen Curry when the clubs duel in an early-season rematch Thursday night in San Francisco. Green on Wednesday was suspended for five games for his aggressive role in pulling Minnesota's Rudy Gobert away from a Klay Thompson-Jaden McDaniels scuffle early in the Timberwolves' 104-101 win on Tuesday. Green, Thompson and McDaniels were ejected just 1:43 into the contest. The Warriors already were without Curry, who complained of a sore right knee that required an MRI exam. Golden State reported no damage, and Warriors coach Steve Kerr, while acknowledging his star could miss a couple of games, was happy to label Curry day-to-day. The Thunder were without star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander when the Warriors stole a 141-139 road win on Nov. 3. Curry was the hero of the night, getting a buzzer-beating layup up and over Chet Holmgren to cap a 30-point performance. The Warriors outrebounded the hosts 38-32 in the win, with Green gathering in five to go with 15 points and three assists.
11-16-23 | Bengals v. Ravens -3 | Top | 20-34 | Win | 100 | 10 h 20 m | Show |
Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are in a familiar spot - leading the AFC North through Week 10. The past two seasons, they've been passed down the stretch by Cincinnati. A win this week would make that prospect a good deal less likely in 2023. The Ravens host the Bengals on Thursday night with a chance to sweep the season series against Cincinnati and take a 2 1/2-game lead over the last-place Bengals. Every team in the AFC North has a winning record, and Baltimore's 33-31 loss to Cleveland last weekend tightened the race considerably. |
